Sir David Jason making Del Boy comeback!

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Jason has reprised his role as Del Boy for a new second hand car comedy skit.
The TV veteran, 84, will star as his ‘Only Fools and Horses’ wheeler-dealer for the new series of motoring show Car SOS – which will make the first time he has gone back to the part for years.
Broadcaster Tim Shaw, 49, told the Daily Star: “David was a special guest on an episode and I managed to persuade him to do Del Boy again.
“It was one of the highlights of my life. When was the last time we saw David playing Del Boy? I can’t remember. So it was absolutely surreal.”
The Star reported the sketch will see Del help with the restoration of a Datsun 240k Skyline vehicle, with Tim adding: “I told David I had an idea for a sketch and he said, ‘Oh, you want some lovely jubbly? Go on then, let’s give it a pop.’ “He dropped straight into it. The next thing he’s Del Boy and he’s reading a newspaper and he’s selling some car parts on eBay.”
Tim’s co-host Fuzz Townshend, 59, added: “David was an absolute pro.”
Del’s sketch will be part of the new series of ‘Car SOS’, which will be shown on 7 March on National Geographic.
In 2014, Sir David and his ‘Only Fools’ co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst, 62, returned as Del and Rodney for a Comic Relief ‘Only Fools and Horses’ special featuring David Beckham.
The script included previously unused material written by John Sullivan, who created and wrote every ‘Only Fools’ episode before his death in 2011.
The 10-minute mini-episode of the BBC sitcom showed Del and Rodney struggling to sell David Beckham underwear until they meet the former footballer in a café and he gives Rodders tips on how to sell them.
It ended with Del and Rodney saying “What a plonker!” to David as he recreates Del’s iconic ‘falling through the bar’ scene when he goes to lean back on a market cart but it’s moved it away while he isn’t looking and he crashes to the ground.

Dan Levy boards cast of Animal Friends

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Levy has joined the cast of ‘Animal Friends’.
The ‘Schitt’s Creek’ actor is set to star alongside Ryan Reynolds in the live-action/animated hybrid movie.
The R-rated road trip adventure is being directed by Peter Atencio and other cast members include Jason Momoa, Addison Rae and Aubrey Plaza.
Plot details are being kept under wraps but the script has been penned by writing duo Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider.
Meanwhile, Dan recently suggested that homophobia had robbed him of the chance to play “wonderful, rich, challenging roles”.
Asked if it is easier for stars to be open about their sexuality compared to when he started his career, the 40-year-old actor told the i newspaper: “In some ways, yes. And in some ways, no. I think there has been a shift in the sense that there are more gay celebrities than ever before.
“But do I think that opportunity has changed? I don’t know.
“At least speaking from my own experience… I achieved a level of success that in many of my peers’ cases resulted in a huge influx of really nuanced, wonderful, rich, challenging roles. And I didn’t see them. I tended to just see versions of the character I had already written for myself.”
Levy explained that there has been a “marked lack of variety” in the scripts he has received since ‘Schitt’s Creek’ came to an end in 2020 and he is sad that other gay actors do not have the “privilege” to write parts for themselves in the way he has been able to.
He said: “My hope is that more gay-queer people can tell stories that have that kind of nuance, because it was important that I write this just to allow myself the opportunity to show something different. But I had to do that for myself.
“Which is a great privilege, but something that a lot of other gay actors don’t have the opportunity to do.”

‘I knew that that would be unhealthy’: Austin Butler toned down method acting in Dune: Part Two

OHMYGOSSIP — Austin Butler scaled back on the method acting for ‘Dune: Part Two’.
The 32-year-old actor plays the villain Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel but didn’t go as deeply into the character as he did when starring in ‘Elvis’, when he refused to abandon the music icon’s unique drawl.
Austin told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “I’ve definitely in the past, with ‘Elvis’, explored living within that world for three years and that being the only thing that I think about day and night.
“With Feyd, I knew that that would be unhealthy for my family and friends.”
He continued: “So I made a conscious decision to have a boundary. It allowed for more freedom between action and cut because I knew I was going to protect everybody else outside of the context of what we were doing.
“That’s not to say that it doesn’t bleed into your life. But I knew that I wasn’t going to do anything dangerous outside of that boundary, and in a way that allowed me to go deeper.”
Villeneuve described collaborating with Butler as “tremendously playful” and thought the actor mastered the balance of being in and out of character.
The filmmaker said: “When the camera was on, it was like you were possessed. When the camera was off, you were still maybe 25 or 30 per cent Feyd.
“Just enough to still be present and focus but removed enough that you didn’t kill anybody on set.”
Austin previously revealed that he didn’t want to mimic Sting by wearing winged underwear in the role – just as the Police frontman did when playing Feyd-Rautha in David Lynch’s 1984 version of ‘Dune’.
The ‘Bikeriders’ actor said: “I think he did them so much justice that I had to do something completely of my own [laughs]. How do you follow that? I think he looks great in them… I love that movie, and I love Sting as a musician and as an actor. I feel honoured to be embodying this role that he had the opportunity to.”

‘I priced myself out!’ Mark Ruffalo casts doubt on standalone Hulk movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ruffalo doesn’t think a standalone Hulk movie will ever happen, because it will be too “expensive” to make.
The 56-year-old actor has portrayed Bruce Banner/ Hulk in several Marvel motion pictures since making his 2012 debut as the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) ‘The Avengers’, and while he wants to make a solo Hulk film, he thinks such a project will be too pricey due to the CGI costs.
He told GQ magazine: “I’d love to do a standalone ‘Hulk’, I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen.
“It’s very expensive if you did a whole movie, which is why they use the Hulk so sparingly. I priced myself out!”
Ruffalo admitted Marvel’s streaming expansion – which has seen the company release several Disney+ series – was “really exciting”, but he “doesn’t know” if the MCU will ever be “what it was”.
Speaking about a Marvel post-Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America, he said: “I think the expansion into streaming was really exciting, but the thing about Marvel movies is you had to wait three years and that created a mystique.
“These corrections could be really positive things. Will it be what it was? I don’t know.”
It comes after movie ‘The Marvels’ was the lowest-grossing Marvel film in history with $206 million at the worldwide box office.
In 2020, Ruffalo admitted he had an idea for a standalone Hulk movie that could be “really interesting”.
He told Variety at the time: “There’s an idea that I think could be really interesting.
“We’ve never really followed him into his life. He’s always kind of off on the side. He’s like the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the ‘Avengers’.
“It’d be interesting to fill in all the blanks about what happened to him in between all these movies.”

‘We will take risks others won’t!’ BBC commissions 12 new dramas

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has commissioned 12 new dramas, and admitted it wants to “take the risks others won’t”.
Director of BBC Drama, Lindsay Salt, has urged producers, writers and directors to “venture into the creative unknown”, as she announced new dramas featuring the screenwriting debut of ‘Sex Education’ star Aimee Lou Wood, and The Town’s Rebecca Hall will appear in new programme ‘The Listeners’.
Speaking at a BBC event, Lindsay said: “Inflation, content and platform saturation, streamer retrenchment, the writers’ strike, it’s all fed a serious slowdown. Five years ago, everyone was willing to make brave choices… But today there’s much more short termism…
“I worry that risk-taking is becoming a dirty word. And that, in less than a decade, the industry might be moving from Peak TV to Peak Caution.
“But not the BBC… there’s something about this moment, the current climate in our industry, that makes our approach to risk even more essential.
“While others might become more cautious, we will go further and take the risks others won’t.”
One of the BBC’s new commissions includes Aimee and ‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ star Ralph Davis’ screenwriting debut, romantic comedy-drama ‘Film Club’, while ‘Sex Education’ writer Richard Gadd has penned new six-part drama series ‘Lions’.
The BBC has also commissioned ‘Dear England’, a drama series about the England football team’s manager Gareth Southgate, which is based on James Graham’s National Theatre play of the same name.
What’s more, fans of Abi Morgan’s ‘The Split’ will be pleased to hear a spin-off is on the way in the shape of ‘The Split Up’.
Other commissions include crime drama ‘The City is Ours’, coming-of-age story ‘The Dream Lands’ – which is based on novel ‘Dreamland’ – as well as ‘The Ministry of Time’, which is based on Kaliane Bradley’s hotly-anticipated debut novel of the same name.
Writer and filmmaker Charlotte Regan will bring darkly comic and unconventional drama ‘Mint’ to life, while emotional thriller ‘Reunion’ will follow the journey of a deaf man determined to right his wrongs.
What’s more, writer Janice Okoh has a new series, ‘We Go Again’, based on her play ‘Three Birds’, and the BBC has also ordered two more six-part series of Belfast-based police drama ‘Blue Lights’.

Jenna Ortega wants Beetlejuice 2 to push youngsters towards ‘weird’ and ‘off-putting’ stories

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega hopes ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ can introduce young people to “weird, strange off-putting stories”.
The 21-year-old actress is playing Lydia Deetz’s daughter Astrid in the upcoming sequel and she thinks the original 1988 classic’s notoriety means a follow-up is necessary after all this time.
She told Vanity Fair: “That’s why I was excited that they were bringing it back as well.
“I feel like studios nowadays, of course, they want people in seats, and you’ve got to do reboots or sequels or things like that to get people entwined, but to bring ‘Beetlejuice’ back — of all of the stories — is so good because people need to revisit weird, strange, off-putting stories again.
“We need to introduce the younger generation that’s always on the phone to new artistic and creative ideas.
“The weirder you get with it, the more people you can get to see it, I think will probably do a lot for film in general.”
She’s staying tight lipped about the movie, which sees director Tim Burton return at the helm, while Michael Keaton will reprise his role as the titular ‘ghost with the most’.
Winona Ryder will be back as Lydia too, and Jenna did admit that their relationship is “very important”.
She added: “I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, but I am Lydia Deetz’s daughter, so I’ll give that away.
“She’s weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume, I would say. The relationship between Lydia and Astrid, my character, is very important.
“And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”

Paddy McGuinness ‘lands new BBC travel show’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness has reportedly landed a new travel show.
The 50-hear-old star – who has had a run of bad luck with the BBC axing shows like ‘A Question of Sport’, ‘Top Gear’ and ‘I Can See Your Voice’ – is set to journey across Europe for a new travelogue airing on BBC One and iPlayer later in 2024.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “He’s had mixed fortunes recently with several of his shows getting the chop, but it looks like Paddy’s luck is changing.
“This travelogue is a bit of a departure for Paddy and the programme might see him team up with a buddy for the trip.
“Either way it’s the latest in several bits of good news for his career.”
The former ‘Phoenix Nights’ actor recently became the new host of BBC Two documentary series ‘Inside The Factory’, while his Channel 4 game show ‘Tempting Fortune’ looks to be getting a second run.
Previously, Paddy – who is known for hosting the likes of ‘Take Me Out’ and starring in his pal Peter Kay’s sitcom ‘Phoenix Nights’ and spin-off ‘Max and Paddy’s Road To Nowhere’ – presented BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ alongside Chris Harris and Freddie Flintoff.
However, the programme was paused indefinitely after the England cricketer was involved in a life-threatening accident while filming the show.
In a statement, the BBC said: “We’ve agreed with BBC Content that given the exceptional circumstances, we will be resting production of the Top Gear UK show for the foreseeable future.”
But broadcaster did suggest the programme would return at a later date.
They continued: “We’ll continue to support the programme’s core production team and will be leaning on their expertise in a broader production capacity until such time as the UK show can restart.”

‘He detached himself from people’ Vincent Simone recalls late Robin Windsor’s ‘ongoing problem’

OHMYGOSSIP — Vincent Simone has told how Robin Windsor used to “detach himself from people for two or three days” before “coming back to the world”.
The 44-year-old professional dancer has remembered his late friend, who passed away this week aged 44, as “the best man I ever met”, and the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro admitted his former co-star had an “ongoing problem” in which he used to remove himself from “reality”, but he usually returned.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The first thing I thought of when I opened my eyes this morning was Robin. He was the best man I ever met.
“Robin has had these moments in the past – it was an ongoing problem.
“He would detach himself from people for two or three days. Then he would come back to the world, to reality.
“But this time, he didn’t come back.”
Vincent also admitted it was a “big thing” for Robin to fall in love.
He added: “Robin was always falling in love. It was a big thing for him.
“The poor man just wanted to be loved. He had loads of love from the rest of us, almost too much.
Robin’s ex-boyfriend Marcus Collins was among those who paid tribute to the late star earlier this week, following the news of his passing.
Former ‘X Factor’ star Marcus admitted Robin – who he dated for 18 months until their romance ended in 2015 – was “so loved”.
Marcus wrote on Instagram: “The World just got a lot less sparkly. Robin You were so loved (sic)”
Robin was a ‘Strictly’ pro from 2010 to 2013, partnering the likes of Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley and Deborah Meaden.
Dance company Burn The Floor, which Robin co-founded, announced the late star’s passing.
A Facebook post in the early hours of Tuesday morning (20.02.24) read: “The Burn the Floor family has lost one of its founding members, Robin “Bobby” Windsor – who has tragically passed away. A BTF journeyman he danced with us for twenty years – including Broadway, The West End and all our crazy adventures around the world. His stunning image attached with Jessica Raffa defined our company, colourful, extreme and sensual. His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation. He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever [heart-broken emoji] (sic)”

Ant and Dec reveal the real reason they’re pausing Saturday Night Takeaway

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec have decided to step back from ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ so they can spend more time with their families.
The Geordie duo, both 48, front the variety show in the early months of the year before hosting ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in the spring and then go onto ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ in the winter, but they have now explained their self-titled light entertainment show will be taking a back seat because they “need a break” after 20 series.
Ant- who is expecting his first child with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett – told Fault Magazine: “We do the show and then ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, but on a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing ‘Takeaway’ is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family. We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.
“We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now. You know, like I say, ‘We’re turning 49, and what do we want to do next? What’s the next phase of our career?’ And we’ve got lots of ideas and lots of offers on the table, lots of options of things we can do.
“But it’s working on what we do next and where the next chapter begins. So that’s what we’re gonna do when ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ is out of the way. We’ll sit down, take a bit of time, and reevaluate everything.”
Meanwhile, Dec – who has Isla, five, and 18-month-old Jack with his wife wife Ali Astall – shot to fame alongside Ant when they appeared on hit children’s’ drama ‘Byker Grove’ in the 1990s, and the pair have admitted being able to “maintain” such a friendship for so long is a result of “compromise” and allowing each other space.
He said: “We started working together when we were 13, and we became friends very quickly. But, you know, we’re both, were are both 49 this year. We’re obviously not the same people that we were when we were 13. So throughout our career, you know, we’ve both changed.
“But being able to maintain that friendship doesn’t come naturally. Sometimes you have to work with friendships, and sometimes you have to compromise and sometimes you have to give each other space and time and whatever.”

Ben Shephard reveals the ‘advantages’ of moving from Good Morning Britain to This Morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Shephard will soon have plenty of ties gathering dust – because he doesn’t have to wear one for his new job on ‘This Morning’.
The 49-year-old presenter will be leaving his regular post as a host of ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ in March to front ‘This Morning’ alongside Cat Deeley in the studio next door, and he thinks the chance to wear a more casual attire as well as a slightly later start time are just some of the advantages of jumping ship.
Speaking on Thursday’s (22.02.24) episode of ‘Good Morning Britain’, he told co-hosts Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh: “I’ve got a lot of ties that I no longer have to wear. That’s one of the advantages of working through the wall. You get a bit of a lie-in, you don’t have to wear a tie.
“So maybe you [Kate] will get one of my ties, you get the pick of the ties!”
Ben and Cat will be seen from Monday to Thursday on the ITV Daytime show, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will continue in their roles as Friday presenters and holiday cover.
Ben said: “This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of ‘This Morning’.
“It’s an honour to be trusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job. For the last ten years, I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes ‘This Morning’ so loved.”
Cat – who began her career on children’s television alongside Ant and Dec and went on to host ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ before finding further success in the US – is thrilled to be joining the “national institution” and vowed to “take care” of it as well.
She said: “‘This Morning ‘is a national institution. Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over – funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful – like all the greatest friendships! This Morning is and always will be the viewer’s show.
“Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we’re going to do our best to take care of it.”
Towards the end of last year, Cat stepped in for a trial run of a week of shows alongside ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Ben.
The show had been searching for a pair to take on the coveted TV jobs following the departures of long-running hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Katie Price wants Loose Women return, says Linda Robson

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price wants to make a return to ‘Loose Women’, according to Linda Robson.
The 45-year-old glamour model became known for her controversial comments when she was a panellist on the ITV1 lunchtime chat show from 2015 until 2018, and now her former co-star Linda, 65, has revealed the Page 3 legend is desperate to make a comeback.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, in her new book ‘Truth Be Told: Tales from a Baggy Mouth’, Linda wrote: “I love Katie Price but sometimes I think she deliberately tries to shock. I did an awards show with her once where we were both supposed to be presenting together but no one could find her anywhere.
“She eventually turned up with minutes to spare. When we got out on the stage, she started talking about herself and I had to tell her, ‘Oi! It ain’t about you today.’
“Whenever I bump into her now, she tells me how she wants to come back to ‘Loose Women’. And I say, ‘But, Katie, you can’t f****** behave yourself, can you?”
The former ‘Birds of a Feather’ actress – who made occasional appearances as a guest panellist on ‘Loose Women’ before joining full-time in 2012 – also admitted she “worries” about Katie, as she recalled how her fellow TV star would arrive at the studios in her pyjamas.
She said: “I do worry about her. Sometimes I thought she’d been out late the night before a show. She used to sleep in the car on her way in and would arrive in her pyjamas and get dressed when she got there. I used to think that was quite a good idea actually. She always made plenty of headlines whenever she was on, though.”
But Linda – who regularly appears on ‘Loose Women’ alongside the likes of former ‘This Morning’ host Ruth Langsford, pop star Frankie Bridge and ‘Casualty’ actress Sunetra Sarker – has never refused to sit with anyone on the panel, but she did recall that one co-star gave her a notably frosty reception some years ago.
She said: “[My daughter] Lauren was with me and she said, ‘She doesn’t like you, does she, Mum?’ ‘I’m not sure, Lauren…’ ‘No, I really don’t think she does.’ As we reached her table, she suddenly broke off from whispering and was all gushy saying, ‘Oh, hiiiii, Linda! How are you?’, which just felt really fake.
“This was when I was starting out as a regular and I don’t know if certain people were feeling insecure because they were bringing new panellists in.
“Maybe she felt like she was going to be given the boot. And thinking about it, she didn’t last much longer! That had nothing to do with me, though. I don’t think any of us can presume we’re safe forever.”

America Ferrera cast opposite Matthew McConaughey in The Lost Bus

OHMYGOSSIP — America Ferrera has landed a role opposite Matthew McConaughey in ‘The Lost Bus’.
The 39-year-old actress has signed up to appear in the drama film from the Oscar-nominated director Paul Greengrass.
The picture – which is being developed, distributed and produced by Apple Original Films – is based on Lizzie Johnson’s book ‘Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire’, about the horrific 2018 California wildfires that claimed over 100 lives and destroyed much of the town of Paradise.
The movie heads into production this spring and focuses on Kevin McKay (McConaughey) and Mary Ludwig (Ferrera), a bus driver and teacher who lead a bus full of young schoolchildren through the Camp Fire.
America starred in the blockbuster ‘Barbie’ as Mattel employee Gloria – a role that has earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress – and won praise for her powerful speech about the difficulties of being a woman in the picture, a scene where director Greta Gerwig gave her free reign.
She told The New York Times newspaper: “Greta asked me, ‘Why don’t you just tell me what you would say? Write it in your own words. What would you add?’
“Not every director starts out by inviting actors to rewrite their work. Some of what we talked about made it into the script.
“The line, ‘Always be grateful’ came out of that conversation with Greta. She expounded on it adding, ‘But never forget that the system is rigged.’
“There were many versions that we did. We ended in tears. It ended in laughter, it got big, it got small, and I was able to do that because I really trusted Greta to know what would be right for the film.”

Lashana Lynch to star in Optimize

OHMYGOSSIP — Lashana Lynch has been cast in the sci-fi film ‘Optimize’.
The 36-year-old actress is attached to star in the feature from director Lindsey Anderson Beer.
The plot centres on an “average woman” who “utilizes an AI assistant to optimize all facets of her life, but soon finds that the AI’s pursuit of perfection comes at too high a cost”.
Paramount is making the movie with Beer’s Lab Brew banner as part of the director’s first-look deal with the studio.
Before entering the film industry, Beer studied artificial intelligence and robots at Stanford University – an experience that proved useful in developing ‘Optimize’, first as a short story and now as a feature.
Lashana can currently be seen as Rita Marley in the biopic ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ and explained that she would have turned down the chance to play the wife of the late reggae legend if the Jamaican accents in the movie had been “watered down”.
The ‘No Time To Die’ star told Collider: “There’s no other way to tell this story outside of being as authentic as possible to every inch of who Bob is right now, what he was, what he represents. Jamaica, especially Jamaica in the ‘70s, it’s just a special time, and a really important time in my culture’s history.
“So to have accents that were watered down, I mean, that’s one thing that I wouldn’t have signed up for at all. I’m of Jamaican heritage and it would have been against everything that I believed in if we just had a quote-unquote understandable Jamaican accent.
“I just think that’s wrong in every way. And I think it’s important for audiences to lean in with understanding narratives, understanding cultures and accents. It’s important, and it really doesn’t underestimate what audiences do. We shouldn’t be spoon-feeding them in any way, and the accents being as true as they can be was one way of doing it.”

British soaps could be created by AI within 3 years, top director claims

OHMYGOSSIP — British soaps such as ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Coronation Street’ could be written by artificial intelligence (AI) in the next three to five years.
That’s according to director James Hawes – the vice-chairman of Directors UK – who has told MPs how AI might be able to create these “Bot Cotton’s adventures” before the decade is out, but insisted they will not be as “polished” as TV shows produced by humans.
He said to a Culture, Media and Sport Committee’s inquiry into how technology might affect the British film and TV industry: “I believe the genie is out of the bottle.
“It may not be as polished as we’d been used to but that’s how close we’re getting and I find that hard to believe for all the creatives involved.”
Speaking about a forum that was held after it was revealed BBC daytime soap ‘Doctors’ will be axed this year, the ‘Slow Horses’ director said: “One of the members there started talking about AI and it sent me investigating into how long it would be before a show like ‘Doctors’ can be made entirely by generative AI and I took a poll with various VFX people.
“I then spoke to some of the legal team who advised Sag[-Aftra] and [the] Writers Guild [of America] over the summer ahead of coming here.
“And the best guess is between three to five years, somebody [will] be able to say, ‘Create a scene in an ER room where a doctor comes in, he’s having an affair with a woman so they’re flirting, and somebody’s dying on the table,’ and it will start to create it and you will build those and it will be generative AI.”
The BBC confirmed last year that Doctors’ final episode will air in December 2024.

Brooke Vincent reveals if she would do Strictly Come Dancing after cousin Ellie Leach won series 21

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Vincent doesn’t think she could take part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after her cousin Ellie Leach won the latest series.
The 31-year-old actress is best known for playing Sophie Webster on ‘Coronation Street’ from 2004 until 2019 while Ellie, 22, starred as Faye Windass on the ITV1 soap opera from 2011 until 2023, before claiming victory on the BBC Latin and ballroom show just months after leaving the cobbles.
And now, Brooke doesn’t think she would be able to take to the dancefloor, because she would have such big shoes to fill and might be regarded as “the failure”.
Asked on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ if she would ever take part in ‘Strictly’, she said: “Oh God, no, I can’t do it now, not after she won! I’d be like the failure! She just did amazing. You just get bored of saying how proud you are so I was trying to word it in different ways.”
Former ‘Dancing on Ice’ runner-up Brooke – who has Mexx, four, and two-year-old Monroe with footballer Kean Bryan – is now starring in a touring stage adaptation of Kay Mellor’s hit TV series ‘The Syndicate’.
Brooke explained how different she is finding rehearsing for her new role after so many years working in ‘Corrie’.
She said: “Well, with live TV you get no second chances and it’s literally that.
“You’ve got to go with the flow whereas back on ‘Corrie’ and other TV it’s like … ‘Oh your hair was just in your face, can we just go again?’, it’s a completely different skill set but I’m just so excited.
“I did a play when I was younger and I feel like it’s a feeling you get, it’s that buzz. You become mindful of everything around you, and you can hear if something is off. But I was taught that whatever happens, you just keep going!
“We’re touring from April to July so every night just going over it so it’s not necessarily about the lines, it’s going to be about keeping it fresh.”
