Cara Delevingne’s movie ‘identity crisis’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne has an “identity crisis” every time she finishes working on a film.
The ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ actress admits the end of a shoot triggers her “abandonment issues” and leaves her feeling as bereft as if a relationship had come to an end.
She said: “I always have a problem when I finish films. For six months, you create this family, you get so close, it’s like a home, and then suddenly it’s over and my abandonment issues go through the roof.
“It’s like the end of a relationship. And also, I’d been given a part where I play this stable, together person.
“They’re you’re not this person anymore and you’re like, ‘Who am I?’ I’m suddenly hit with this identity crisis and then abandoned and then everything.
“When I finish films, I have to spend months picking myself up.”
Since she moved from modelling into acting, Cara has turned to yoga and credits the spiritual practice from stopping her becoming a “sociopath” and claims “bad things start to happen” when she misses a few sessions.
She added to GQ magazine: “I started doing [yoga], like, four, five years ago. When I started is when I first broke into acting.
“I had no … I didn’t feel anything. I think I would have turned into a sociopath if I hadn’t started yoga. I had no contact with my emotions at all.
“It was really crazy, because, honestly, I remember meeting my yoga tutor for the first time and crying for the first time in years. I felt blind before.
“[If I don’t do it for a few days] bad things start to happen. I make bad decisions. It’s weird. It’s really weird.”

Sigourney Weaver almost rejected role in Alien

OHMYGOSSIP — Sigourney Weaver almost rejected her role in ‘Alien’.
The 67-year-old actress has admitted she was hesitant about starring in the 1979 fantasy thriller, in which she portrays Ellen Ripley in the production, because she thought it was a “very, very bleak script”.
Speaking about her first thoughts on the project to the Sydney Morning Herald, she said: “It was a very, very bleak script.”
And the star was even more disappointed that she has graduated from Yale School of Drama to be cast in the franchise.
She added: “I survived drama school to do this?”
But it wasn’t until Weaver spoke with 79-year-old director Sir Ridley Scott that she had a change of heart, and realised the movie was going to be completely different to what she had initially thought.
She explained: “It wasn’t till I met Ridley Scott and saw these amazing drawings by [Alien concept artists] H.R. Giger and Carlo Rambaldi of the alien itself that I thought, ‘Oh. Well. I’ve never seen anything like this.'”
The ‘Alien’ franchise has continued to expand, which has seen an additional five follow-ups released over the years, and Weaver thinks the success of the films are due to the actors projecting their own ideas on the supernatural figure, and because the movies have a “malevolence that’s beyond reality”.
Speaking about the film and its reception, the ‘Avatar’ star – who has 27-year-old daughter Charlotte with her husband Jim Simpson – said: ‘I think each of us as actors loaded the alien with other meaning for ourselves. That’s one of the reasons the film has traction – because it’s not just this thing. It has this malevolence that’s beyond reality.”

Jada Pinkett Smith refuses to wait ‘another 21 years’ to work with Queen Latifah

OHMYGOSSIP — Jada Pinkett Smith doesn’t want to wait “another 21 years” to star alongside Queen Latifah in a movie.
The 45-year-old actress first worked with the 47-year-old rapper in 1996 when they filmed the drama film ‘Set It Off’, and although it has taken over two decades for the duo to join forces again in their latest film ‘Girls Trip’, they are determined not to wait so long for their next film project together.
Speaking to E! News about working with the ‘Beauty Shop’ star, the brunette beauty said: “I told Queen the other day. ‘I don’t know yet Queen, but it would be awesome if we waited 21 years to make another classic.’
“We had a moment where we got a little teary eyed. We got a little blinky.
“We can’t wait another 21 years to do this.
“But we can’t wait 21 more years before we get on the screen.”
Jada has revealed her and Queen Latifah – whose real name is Dana Elaine Owens – have worked on “a lot” of productions together, and even if they have not acted alongside one another they have been involved in producing a movie the other has starred in.
Jada continued: ” We’ve worked together a lot. She’s produced me; I’ve produced her.”
Meanwhile, the ‘The Nutty Professor’ star has revealed she will have to turn a blind eye if her 16-year-old daughter Willow watches her latest film because it is “hard R” rated movie.
Jada – who also has 19-year-old son Jaden with her husband Will Smith – said: “I told Willow with a movie like this, she’s going to have to do what I used to do back in the day and that’s sneak in with her friends.
“Because this [movie] is a hard R. I have to act like I don’t know she’s going to be there. She’s going to sneak in.”

Sir Kenneth Branagh praises Harry Styles’ performance in Dunkirk

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Kenneth Branagh has praised Harry Styles for his role in ‘Dunkirk’.
The 56-year-old actor stars as Commander Bolton in the Christopher Nolan blockbuster and the film marks Styles’ acting debut, but the TV, movie and theatre legend said he was drawn in by the One Direction star’s acting.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, Branagh said: “I think he did an excellent job.
“When you did you first take, I was just drawn in, he’s just magical. He’s magical.”
Branagh – who also is a filmmaker and helmed ‘Thor’ – said Nolan is a master and didn’t question any choices the director made.
He said: “He’s a master. Obsessive in all the best possible ways with this thing.
“Controlling the number of things that he had to, all the variables, plus the weather changing all the time and you’re in the real place and sometimes the ferry comes in the back of the shot and you don’t want that.
“You need to get all the tourists out of the way then bring the Spitfire back in. You say thank you very much sir and keep your mouth shut.”
The 23-year-old singer also said Nolan was scarier than ‘X Factor’ creator and judge Simon Cowell.
Harry said: “I think Chris, in that he doesn’t say anything, like at all. He just kind of sits in the darkness at the back of the room.”

Jack O’Connell misses Angelina Jolie

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack O’Connell misses his ‘Unbroken’ director Angelina Jolie.
The 26-year-old actor was picked by the 44-year-old beauty to play the role of Louis Zamperini, an American athlete turned prisoner of war in World War II, and the two hit it off straight away, with the Hollywood actress even visiting a family of O’Connell’s friend who died of liver cancer.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, the ‘Skins’ actor said: “I miss her. She did a lot for me. She didn’t owe that to anyone.”
Jack also said he learned a lot from his ‘This Is England’ co-star Stephen Graham.
He said: “He goes away, walks like the character, talks like the character, and he turns up on the day and it looks effortless.
“He becomes the character, he doesn’t act it. The hope is eventually I’ll have a piece of work that says I can transform.
“I think they are the best kind of actors.”
Jack was rumoured to be played Alexander McQueen in a biopic but after a change of director it appears the young actor won’t be starring as the fashion designer.
However, he is soon to be starring alongside Sienna Miller in the West End revival of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ and hopes to share the same bond he had with Angelina and Stephen.
He said: “She’s very pleasant to be around. We’ve got a good thing going on, I think.
“I just hope to Christ it lasts us for the whole run. It would be a nightmare if we ended up hating each other.”
His performance as Brick in the Tennessee Williams’ play, which was adapted into a film starring Elizabeth Taylor in 1958, marks the third time he has performed on stage after starring in ‘Scarborough’ back in 2008 and ‘The Nap’ last year.

Christopher Nolan inspired by real life accounts for Dunkirk movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Nolan looked at firsthand accounts of World War II survivors for ‘Dunkirk’.
The 46-year-old filmmaker researched by watching real life footage and reading records from the British-led rescue mission in 1940 in which 330,000 Allied troops were rescued from the clutches of the Nazis.
Speaking at the world premiere of the movie London’s Odeon on Leicester Square on Thursday (13.07.17) evening, he told reporters: “I was looking at a lot of firsthand accounts of people who were there.
“I want people to see it in the big screen and feel like what it was like on the beach or be in small boat.
“I wanted to make the film feel real. I watched archive footage of what it was like. It was about realism for me and staging it in front of a camera rather than green screen.”
Nolan’s producer wife Emma Thomas, who also attended the premiere, said the story of Dunkirk is something everyone who grows up in Britain knows about.
Many of the actors in the film are well-known including Sir Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance, others are Nolan regulars such as Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy, as well as newcomers Fionn Whitehead and One Direction star Harry Styles.
Thomas said: “Casting was a very long process but one of the more fun casting we had. We managed to have roles for established actors, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance.
“We got to work with people we have worked with before as well as discovering new talents. And they were all fantastic.”
The idea of realism and authenticity was something important for Nolan who even made Styles change the way he tied his shoelaces as soldiers would have done it a specific way.
Styles said: “When I heard about Chris doing it I was kind of already excited to watch it to be honest and I just wanted to be involved…
“On my first day he told me my laces were tied wrong.”

Lynda Carter in talks for Wonder Woman sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has confirmed she’s in talks to appear in the sequel to the DC Extended Universe box office smash.
The 65-year-old actress portrayed heroine Diana Prince in the cult classic 1970s TV show and now she’s set for a cameo, much wanted by fans, in the second standalone Wonder Woman film which will star Gal Gadot as the titular superhero once again.
Lynda almost made it into director Patty Jenkins’ first movie but in the end it didn’t work out.
In an interview with the new issue of People magazine, Lynda said: “It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do. We were trying to get me in the first one and we couldn’t make it work with our timing.”
Lynda hopes her cameo does happen because she is a huge admirer of Patty’s work and is very proud of her association with the character.
She said: “Am I open to it? Absolutely. I adore Patty Jenkins, and it’ll be wonderful to do. But we’ll just see how that goes.”
Gadot appeared in the DCEU movie alongside Chris Pine, David Thewlis and Robin Wright and the blockbuster has gone on to gross
$749 million worldwide so far making it the fourth highest-grossing film of 2017.
Before it was released, Lynda – who currently plays President Olivia Marsdin on CW’s ‘Supergirl’ – admitted she was intrigued to see what Gal and Patty would do with the character once the torch had been passed on.
She said: “I am the bearer of the torch and now I’m passing it forward to Gal and to Patty. I spoke with Patty early on and I couldn’t wait to meet Gal. The three of us share some sisterhood by living and breathing this character. This is another way to look at her. It doesn’t mean to abandon me or abandon the way that I had her, the way that I played her. This is just another way to look at Wonder Woman.”

Ray Romano joins Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman

OHMYGOSSIP — Ray Romano has joined Martin Scorsese’s gangster movie ‘The Irishman’.
The ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ actor will play Bill Bufalino, a teamster lawyer with ties to the mob, alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, Variety reports.
Romano worked with the ‘Goodfellas’ director on the HBO drama ‘Vinyl’, which Scorsese executive produced.
‘The Irishman’ is an adaptation of the book ‘I Heard You Paint Houses’ which follows the exploits of Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran – a high ranking Mafia hitman tasked with carrying out the “biggest mob hit in history”.
De Niro, 73, will be playing Sheeran with fellow gangster film icon Al Pacino portraying Jimmy Hoffa, while 74-year-old Pesci is expected to portray Russell Bufalino.
Steve Zaillian, who wrote the script for the gangster flick, is also reported to be executive producing the movie.
The film marks a reunion for the trio of De Niro, Scorsese and Pesci who previously worked together on cinema classics ‘Raging Bull’, Goodfellas’ and ‘Casino’.
The three Hollywood legends are to bring another story to life on the big screen for the first time since 1995 after Scorsese’s long-term editor Thelma Schoonmaker spilled that Pesci had agreed to a role in the gangster flick.
In an interview with Crave Online discussing Scorsese’s future projects, Schoonmaker said: “He wants to make more films like [‘Silence’], that are spiritual, basically, but not set in 17th century Japan. In the modern time.
“So hopefully we’ll be able to make that. Not the next one, the next one is the next one is the next one is ‘The Irishman’, which is De Niro and Joe Pesci and elderly gangsters. So that’ll be very different from ‘Silence’. But maybe the one after that!”
The rights of the film has already been bought by Netflix who will be distributing the film in 2019.
The movie will be the tenth time that De Niro and Scorsese, 74, will have teamed-up together.

Arlene Phillips thought pregnancy was menopause

OHMYGOSSIP — Arlene Phillips mistook her second pregnancy for the menopause.
The 74-year-old choreographer was 47 years old when she found out she was four months pregnant with her second child Abi, now 26, but has admitted she initially thought the sickness was down to her going through the change.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (17.07.17), she said: “Well I thought it was the menopause. So I think I was four pregnant before I even realised and I remember thinking: ‘Gosh this menopause is killing me. It’s just horrendous’ And for once I actually had morning sickness and I never had morning sickness with my first child so I thought: ‘Why am I throwing up every morning?’ That was it, I found out I was pregnant.”
However, the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge – who also has daughter Alana
– didn’t find her pregnancy as enjoyable as she thought she would as people kept referring to her as a “geriatric mother” and questioning whether she was “too old.”
She explained: “It was very strange because, for me, it was a gift. To have a second child naturally at my age, I couldn’t believe it so I went to my local hospital and I remember going in and ‘Yes you are pregnant.’ And they said: ‘Could we have 12 students following you because you’re the oldest mother we’ve ever had here.’
“I thought: ‘No, I’m really not sure about that.’ Times change because when I had my first child in my 30s I was already a geriatric mother. It was very difficult and then I actually went private because I didn’t feel like I could cope with 12 students and they actually said to me: ‘You’re going to find this difficult because at your age you should really be a grandmother.’ I was very emotional because I felt like I was doing the wrong thing.”

Chloe Sims is dating 5ive’s Abz Love

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sims is reportedly dating 5ive’s Abz Love.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has been secretly romancing the 38-year-old rapper – whose real name is Richard Abidin Breen – for two months and, although they’re trying to keep their relationship on the down low, she’s told friends she’s really happy.
A source told The Sun Online: “”This is Chloe’s first serious relationship in years.
“We’d never have put the two of them together but they couldn’t be more perfect. She’s just started telling her friends about it and she’s the happiest we’ve seen her in ages.”
The pair are yet to publicly confirm their new relationship status but they’ve been setting tongues wagging over the past few months with their uploads on social media.
Abz was the first to spark rumours when he shared a photograph of him cuddling up to Chloe at the beginning of the month during a visit to her beauty salon in Essex.
The couple appeared to be very comfortable with one another as they posed for the shot while the singer waited for his chocolate mud mask to set on his face.
Although the pair are clearly smitten with one another, some fans are slightly confused as Abz is a world away from the guys she usually goes for – having previously dated a billionaire and ‘TOWIE’ co-stars Elliott Wright, Liam ‘Gatsby’ Blackwell and Jon Clark.
However, each time she jumps into a relationship with someone, the 34-year-old beauty is skeptical because she wants to protect her young daughter Madison.
Abz, on the other hand, went through a messy break up with his long-time fiancee Vicky Fallon, 32, who was also his manager, earlier this year following seven years of dating.

Cally Jane Beech confirms split from Luis Morrison

OHMYGOSSIP — Cally Jane Beech has moved back into her mother’s home following her split from Luis Morrison.
The former ‘Love Island’ star – who met the hunk on the show last year – has confirmed she’s ended her romance with the 22-year-old heartthrob and she and their 10-week-old daughter Vienna have now left the home they once shared and has gone to stay with her mum for now.
Cally’s agent told new! magazine: “Cally’s really upset that she and Luis have split up. She needs some time to get her head around it all. Being a new mum, the split has not come at the greatest time. She and Vienna have moved out of the home she shared with Luis and she’s gone back with her mum. Cally doesn’t want to speak to anyone at the moment. Her main priority is Vienna.”
The couple sparked rumours they’d gone their separate ways last week when Luis appeared to reference that he’d cheated on the brunette beauty in a tweet posted on his Twitter account.
He wrote at the time: “The grass is never greener.”
To which Cally replied: “N u already know this (sic),” followed by a thumbs up emoji.
Just last month, the 25-year-old babe revealed that their relationship had hit the rocks half way through her pregnancy when they moved from London to Leeds so that Luis could focus on his new job as the director of Celebrity Cars.
She explained: “You know the start of a relationship you have the honeymoon period. I want that all the time. I feel like that kind of affection had gone out of the window because he was so busy with his business. It was a shock for me really. I mean he’s been really good since but he knows what I want in the relationship. I want the Lu I was in love with on ‘Love Island’ that was crazy about me.”

John Torode’s sweaty bum crack

OHMYGOSSIP — John Torode claims he gets a sweaty bum crack from working in the heat of the kitchen.
The ‘MasterChef’ co-host has opened up about the embarrassing ailment which he says is a known condition in the industry called “chef’s arse” and was previously healed by rubbing flour into the crevice.
The 51-year-old star has described how the sweat building up in his bottom would become extremely painful and leave him with chafing.
John told the Daily Star newspaper: “It happens when you get really hot and the sweat drips down your back and the only place it can go to is the crack in your bum. And then the sweat dries and becomes salty and it chafes together and you get chef’s arse.”
Explaining one of the remedies for it, he added: “There used to be all sorts of remedies, like rub cornflour on it.”
However, chef’s arse hasn’t stopped the restaurateur doing his job and he has a new gig coming up, a brand new cookery show called ‘John Torode’s Korean Food Tour’, which kicks off tonight (17.07.17) on the ‘Good Food’.
John – who is married to ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ winner Lisa Faulkner – said of the programme: “It’s a fascinating tour of South Korea through 10 one-hour programmes.
“It was an extraordinary journey. I was dropped into a world that I knew very little about and I learned a huge amount.
“Each show is based around a theme, be it a season of the year or an ingredient. You’ll see me cooking with a few people and trying out the recipes for myself.”

Lynda Bellingham ‘turning over in her grave’ over family feud

OHMYGOSSIP — Lynda Bellingham’s widower Michael Pattemore thinks she’d be “rolling in her grave” over the rift between him and her sons regarding what she left them in her will.
Michael and Robbie Peluso lashed out at their estranged stepfather earlier this year for allegedly depriving them of their inheritance, evicting them from their family home and squandering the late star’s cash on lavish holidays.
But Michael – who was married to Lynda from 2008 until her death in 2014 – is adamant the boys have got it all wrong and his late wife would be fuming with the way things have been handled because he’s followed her wishes accurately.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (17.07.17), he said: “She would be rolling in her grave [at the thought of the rift]. I think there’s a puppeteer pulling their strings. They thought there was a huge pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but there wasn’t.
“I’ve given them a flat. Their first email over to our email lawyer was: ‘My boys wanted a roof over their head.’ I’ve supplied them with a roof over their head and now they want it sold. She specifically wanted that I live them the first million and then divide the rest up between our four children – my two kids and hers.”
Michael also revealed that the former ‘Loose Women’ panellist was in £50,000 in debt when she died but they had money tied up in properties worth millions.
He explained: “I’ve had 18 months of hell … she was £50,000 in debt. That’s a fact. Across bank accounts and credit cards. Even though she was in debt, we had properties worth several million pounds. Those properties are all in mortgage and they bring an income in now. What the boys never told the nation was that in my will, they got left the first one million pounds plus a quarter share of the remainder of the properties. They could’ve walked away with a couple million pounds.”
And that wasn’t the first time Lynda found herself in financial difficulty as Michael was forced to cover her son Michael’s college fees because she was so broke.
He said: “At one point, Lynda’s work went really thin to the ground to the point she nearly let her own house out in London to come over to me to live in Spain but then she ended up getting ‘Loose Women’, ‘Calendar Girls’ and she started to go back up again. The last two terms of Robbie’s sixth form college, I had to pay the fees.”
And, although Michael is adamant he doesn’t want to speak about the rift again, he doesn’t think there’s any chance that he will patch things up with Lynda’s boys.

Martine McCutcheon joined EastEnders for cash

OHMYGOSSIP — Martine McCutcheon only joined ‘EastEnders’ because she “needed the money.”
The 41-year-old actress portrayed Tiffany Mitchell in the long-running soap for four years before she was dramatically killed off on New Year’s Eve in 1998, but she has admitted she only took the job because she was in desperate need of some cash.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “When I joined ‘EastEnders’, soaps were not at all considered highbrow but I took the job because I needed the money.”
And, although she initially only jumped on board the show to improve her financial situation, the brunette beauty hated the way she was told her alter ego was being written out, and has revealed it still burns her to this day – almost 20 years on.
She explained: “As an actress you never take for granted that you are going to be in a job for more than two minutes, but it was the way I was told.
“Other cast members were like: ‘I cannot believe you didn’t tell us.’ And I was like: ‘No I’m embarrassed.’ It was the way it was done. At any time they can get rid of you. Nobody is the star if that show, the show is the star.”
But Martine – who is now a panellist on ‘Loose Women’ – is glad she got out when she did because it allowed her to make a name for herself in other sectors of showbiz.
She added to the publication: “I thank my lucky stars I made a name for myself. I went on to do other things and the audience followed me.”
The future of the popular soap is currently up in the air after show boss Sean O’Connor – who took over from fan favourite Dominic Treadwell-Collins in the spring of 2016 – quit last month following a dramatic dip in ratings after he decided to kill off sisters Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell (played by Samantha Womack and Rita Simons) earlier this year.

Bear Grylls has ‘no nudity’ clause in TV shows

OHMYGOSSIP — Bear Grylls has a clause in his contract for his current show stating he won’t strip on camera.
The 43-year-old adventurer never used to have any issues stripping off on screen to have a wash out in the open, but has come to a “no nudity” agreement with bosses of his new programme ‘Running Wild’, in which celebrity guests Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Mel B, Julianne Hough and Lindsay Vonn have taken part, because he wants to come across as more “modest”.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “A decision was made by Bear not to take his clothes off when he on the celebrity shows. While in the past he has been totally relaxed about getting naked, with stars he is being much more modest. There is a two fold thought process — first he doesn’t want to embarrass any of his fellow adventurers, and secondly his concern is that they might strip off too. That sounds fun, but being a married father of three kids that may not send out the right message.
“Now the furthest he goes is keeping his under garments on. And he tells the stars before they join him, that for two days they will not wash their bodies. That way he stays out of trouble.”
And Bear’s wife Shara, with whom she has three sons, thinks it’s “hilarious” that he’s decided to ban nudity on his shows as she knows that no celebrities will be “interested” in his bare bottom.
The insider explained to the publication: “When he is with the female stars he is more nervous than they are about showing skin or being too vulnerable. Shara knows that her husband is a devoted family man. She jokes that none of the celebrities would be interested in him anyway.”

Levi Roots asked to do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Levi Roots has been asked to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ twice in the past.
The ‘Dragon’s Den’ star – who shot into the limelight in 2007 when he attempted to sell his Reggae Reggae Sauce to the stone-faced billionaires with a catchy rap – has been eyed up numerous times by bosses of the ballroom and latin show but he has turned them down because he doesn’t think it’s the type of programme for a Rastafarian.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “My family and friends say I should do Strictly and go into the jungle and do all these shows I’ve been offered. But the decision is mine, and I have to think, ‘Is that the way of the Rasta?’ And to me, it isn’t.
“I’m quite comfortable holding on to what I’ve got, and people seem to like me the way I am. I turned down all those things because it’s not the way of a Rastafarian.”
However, the celebrity chef certainly doesn’t need to boost his profile in order to gain some more cash as he’s become of the show’s biggest success stories.
But he has admitted he has no plans to claim a seat in a den and start dishing out his own money, despite bosses asking him if he’d be interested in a Dragon role.
He said: “I’ve always said I don’t want to be a Dragon. There have been conversations and I have sat in the seat a couple of times. I love the age-old thing where you can give advice, you can be a mentor, you can help people get through that next door but you’re not only doing it because there’s something on the table for that. Being a Dragon is not the way of a Rasta – where you invest in somebody but you’re only looking for a profit.”
