OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Doctor Who’ star Tom Baker thinks Jodie Whittaker should be killed off if the ratings start to dip when she takes over the leading role at the beginning of next year.
The 83-year-old actor – who portrayed the time-travelling alien from 1974 until 1981 – is pleased bosses have decided to cast their first ever female Time Lady in the show because they’re experimenting, but thinks if viewers start to lose interest, bosses should immediately write the talented actress out and replace her with a male.
Speaking to The Daily Star newspaper: “I think it might be quite nice to have a woman. But you just test it. If the audience don’t like it then just kill her off. She doesn’t have to be an institution, just because I stayed too long. I don’t think anybody knows how it’ll go. Nobody has ever failed by the way, nobody has, it’s just how it is.”
It was announced over the weekend that Jodie – who is best known for playing Beth Latimer in ‘Broadchurch’ – would take over the keys to the TARDIS when the 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi steps down at the end of the festival special later this year, but the decision to change the Time Lord’s sex has been met with a mixed response.
However, Jodie’s casting has attracted support from other former Doctors and companions, including Sylvester McCoy who was the seventh actor to land the part.
In a statement released via his outsourced Twitter account, McCoy, 73, said: “Congratulations Jodie Whittaker!!!!! One small step for Women, one Giant leap for Womenkind!! (sic)”
Billie Piper – who played beloved companion Rose Tyler opposite Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston and Tenth Doctor David Tennant – tweeted: “G’wan Jodie !!!! This is amazing news. Well done Dr Who world #drwho #jodiewhittaker #ladiesnight (sic)”
Katy Manning – who was Third Doctor John Pertwee’s assistant Jo Grant – tweeted: “Well there you have it tweetiepies ! 13 is named & im sure she will be excellent xxx

OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden is creating a new primetime music show for the BBC.
The ‘Late Late Show’ presenter’s production company, Fulwell 73 – which he runs with producer Ben Winston – are creating a six-part series that will air this autumn, with a view to a long-term run if it proves popular.
The as-yet untitled programme will feature the world’s biggest music stars performing and taking part in comedy sketches.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The BBC has been desperate for a music show for a modern-day audience.
“Bosses know they can’t simply get away with showing musicians perform their latest tracks, there needs to be a social media element with the scope to create virals, like ‘The Late Late Show’ and Jimmy Fallon do in the US.”
While James won’t be fronting the shot, the plan is for a different A-list guest to co-host each week alongside a regular British presenter, whose identity is yet to be revealed.
Fulwell 73’s Gabe Turner and Suzi Aplin will serve as executive producers on the show.
The programme will be the first primetime regular music show for the network since ‘Top of the Pops’ was axed in 2006 after 42 years on screen, though the chart programme does return every December for a festive special.
James recently admitted he doesn’t worry about the ratings on his own US talk show because he’s more interested in its social media popularity.
He said: “My ego is too big to make a show that’s on at 12:37 at night. It’s as simple as that.
“So I can’t allow that. We want to make a show that can be consumed all through the day and all through the night.
“What’s the point [in thinking about ratings]? I can’t move that needle. I can’t change that dial.
“But what I can do is make the very best television show we could ever possibly make — one that’s consumed whenever people want to find it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Fitzpatrick is to front a live five-day animal adoption event next month.
The 49-year-old Irish veterinary surgeon – best known for his incredible work in small animal practice – has teamed up with Channel 4 once again for a forthcoming short series entitled ‘Clear The Shelter’ in which he aims to rehome dogs, cats, rabbits and various other abandoned pets live on screen in television’s first ever adoptathon.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “Through raising awareness of the fun, love and hope that rehoming an animal can bring, I think we speak a language of joy and compassion, and that this is a fantastic message to put out into the world.”
The hour-long episodes will be spread across five nights in August and will be hosted by Steve Jones, Kate Quinton and Smudge the Labrador as they follow Noel around the Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter while he matches up owners with their new friends.
Executive producer Ed Coulthard said of the new series: “There are so many great pets out there in shelters across the country looking for a loving home.
“‘Clear the Shelter’ aims to involve viewers in a national campaign. This is a live series that really hopes to make a difference.”
The show hopes to break through the stigma attached to rescue animals and encourage people to head down to their local animal shelters when looking for a new pet as a staggering 250,000 dogs and cats are abandoned every single year.
As well as giving viewers the opportunity to watch innocent animals find their forever homes, the series will also have experts on hand to guide them through the adoption process.
Host Steve added: “I love animals, I love live TV and I love ‘The Supervet’. This is going to be a great show with a great purpose. Can’t wait.”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Noel has worked with Channel 4 as he also has his own show ‘The Supervet’, which has been on screens since 2014, as he allows the cameras into his practice to document him and his team as they save the lives of injured animals.

OHMYGOSSIP — Abi Clarke has been secretly dating boxer professional boxer Floyd Mayweather.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star and the 40-year-old fighter have reportedly enjoyed a string of dates since meeting last year, and he is said to have helped her regain her confidence.
An insider said: “Abi and Floyd really hit it off and she was blown away by his sense of humour and generosity. She was in a fragile and vulnerable place and Floyd has made her feel confident again.
“Although she knew about his reputation as a party animal, she’s been pleasantly surprised and discovered he’s actually a really lovely guy.”
Floyd – who is nicknamed Pretty Boy, and Money – met the 25-year-old beauty when she was on a girls’ holiday in Las Vegas last year following her split form footballer Rob Davies, and the pair have taken their relationship slowly since.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “He made sure they were friends first, before trying to take it further. He’s really helped mend her broken heart and heal her scars.”
Abi is expected to return to Las Vegas next month to support once-retired boxer Floyd when he fights UFC champion Conor McGregor in what is being billed as the boxing bout of the millennium.
Mayweather is considered to be one of the best boxers of all time after winning all 49 of his professional fights.
Abi shot to fame in 2013 when she joined the cast of ‘TOWIE’ series eight alongside the likes of Dan Osborne and James Locke.
Last year, she was reported to be considering a boob job, undergoing liposuction on her stomach and thighs and thinking about having two ribs removed.
A source said at the time: “She knows she needs to compete with the new, younger girls like Megan McKenna. She knows she needs to stand out.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ contestant Jamie Jewitt reportedly hid his relationship from producers so he could appear on the show.
The 27-year-old Calvin Klein model has been charming fellow contestant Camilla Thurlow during his time on the ITV2 reality show, but it has now been reported he had been in a relationship with Georgia Hayden when he applied for the programme, and only ended things with her mere hours before his flight to the infamous villa.
A friend of the 22-year-old beauty said: “He’s a total scumbag. He’s broken her heart. One night they were sat watching ‘Love Island’ together, slagging off all the girls. Five days later he was in the villa trying to bed them. It made her feel worthless. To make sure he got the part she thinks Jamie let producers believe he was not in a relationship.”
And the insider believes Georgia “still had feelings” for the hunky model, and was “completely gutted” to discover he had slept with 28-year-old Camilla on the show.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “One moment they were in a relationship the next he was off chasing other women on national TV. Despite all of that I think Georgia still had feelings for him. He told her he loved her.
“But when she discovered Jamie and Camilla had slept together she was completely gutted.”
Meanwhile, Camilla admitted to the pair’s romp earlier this week, as she gushed about his “perfect” private parts.
During an explicit conversation, Montana Brown asked about the size of Jamie’s manhood, and Camilla said: “No, I can confirm he doesn’t have a small penis.”
She subsequently added: “I can confirm he’s perfect, and he also has a perfect penis.”
Camilla’s confession comes shortly after it was reported that ‘Love Island’ producers are having to cut footage of the show because the couples are having so much sex.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Gabby Allen told Marcel Somerville she loved him just hours after she failed a lie detector test.
The blonde beauty and her fellow female contestants were put under the spotlight during Tuesday night’s show (18.07.17) when their partners were allowed to ask them a string of questions whilst the girls were hooked up to a lie detector machine.
When Marcel asked her if she loved him, she replied no and the lie detector machine confirmed she was telling the truth.
And when the pair spoke about the lie detector later on in the show, she fumed: “You’re so stupid, because you’re making some point of nothing, you’re ridiculous.”
He replied: “We were having a conversation, I was midway through a sentence about something and I wasn’t a priority to you at that current point.”
To which she hit back: “Sorry if you were midway through a sentence. You know when you’re at the dinner table and you ask if you can be excused, that’s how it made me feel. It’s made me feel like I have to ask if I can leave.”
However, after their row providing a small bump in the road for the couple, they rekindled their romance as Gabby got her pals together to help her plan a surprise for Marcel.
She took him up to the balcony, where she explained that she couldn’t have told him she loved him when he had said it to her the week before as she wanted to tell him when it felt it was the right time.
After a lengthy chat, the blonde beauty told the former Blazin’ Squad member to look out onto the grass below where her fellow Islanders had spelled out ‘I [heart] U’.
Elsewhere in the episode, Chris and Olivia seemed to make up after rowing for the last couple of days whilst Camilla admitted to Jamie that she was worried that she wasn’t good enough for him.

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Shaheen Jafargholi had to ask five people before he could cut his hair.
The 20-year-old actor joined the long-running soap as Shakil Kazemi last year and quickly became known for his topknot, but when the hunk decided he fancied a change he had to go through numerous channels before he was given the all-clear to chop it off.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: “You know what, it was a bigger decision than I thought it was going to be! You have to wait until you have a gap in filming for continuity – in the end, the process took about two months and I had to ask about five different people for permission. But it was worth it – I’m a bit lazy when it comes to hair, so I’m happy it’s gone. And for a while people didn’t recognise me as much, which meant I could go to Tesco in my pyjamas without anyone stopping me for a photo!”
Although he’s only been on the soap for 13 months, Shaheen has already developed a strong bond with Jasmine Armfield and Tilly Keeper – who play Bex Fowler and Louise Mitchell, respectively – and the three of them regularly spend time together off set too.
He explained: “I pick on them more than they pick on me. The three of us are the best of friends, and the girls basically live at my flat. There’s lot of banter, but it’s all love. They make fun of when I was a little boy singing on the TV – that’s a recurring theme.”
The former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star shares his flat with his co-star Amy-Leigh Hickman – who plays Linzi Bragg – and, although they’ve grown closer since working together, they’ve known each other since they were children and started on the soap together.
He said: “We’re best friends and she’s my flatmate – I call her my wife. I’ve known her since we were kids. We got our jobs at ‘EastEnders’ at the same time, but my first day was her last. She inspires me every day.”

Vicky Fallon – who was the singer’s manager and dated him for seven years until they split on bitter terms earlier this year – has reached out to the ‘Only Way is Essex’ star to wish her “luck” and warn her that he’ll probably have sex with other women behind her back and take her money for drugs – like he allegedly did throughout their relationship.
Speaking in a video posted on YouTube, she said: “So I just saw the news that my ex is dating Chloe Sims. I don’t know her, but she seems lovely, successful, beautiful.

Chloe has been secretly romancing the 38-year-old rapper – whose real name is Richard Abidin Breen – for two months and, although they’re trying to keep their relationship on the down low, she’s told friends she’s really happy with her new man.
A source said recently: “This is Chloe’s first serious relationship in years.
“We’d never have put the two of them together but they couldn’t be more perfect. She’s just started telling her friends about it and she’s the happiest we’ve seen her in ages.”
The pair are yet to publicly confirm their new relationship status but they’ve been setting tongues wagging over the past few months with their uploads on social media.
The 5ive star was the first to spark rumours when he shared a photo of him cuddling up to Chloe at the beginning of the month during a visit to her beauty salon in Essex.

The 27-year-old beauty – who is currently competing for love in the famous villa abroad – was rumoured to be romancing the royal hunk back in 2014, but she decided to call it quits because she didn’t feel like she was good enough for him and feared rejection.
A source told NOW magazine: “Harry thought she was amazing and seemed to want something serious, but she refused to open up to him through fear of being rejected. It was Camilla’s reservations that stopped their romance from going anywhere.”
The blonde beauty’s insecurities stem from the fact she was cheated on four years ago and now has a different approach when it comes to striking up a romance with men.
The insider explained: “She never played up to the fact she was popular and has always been very humble. In a strange way, even though she had a lot of friends, she lacked confidence. She’s always been one of those girls who looks amazing but doesn’t really know it …

OHMYGOSSIP — Emmerdale’s Priya Sharma fears she could be pregnant with Pete Barton’s baby.
The businesswoman – played by Fiona Wade – decided to call time on her steamy affair with her best friend Leyla Harding’s man after she asked him to marry her earlier this week, but things are set to take a turn for the worse when she starts experiencing pregnancy symptoms and instantly convinces herself that she’s expecting his child.
A source told Inside Soap magazine: “Priya turning up to the wedding pregnant with the groom’s love child would not be a good look! When she realises she has pregnancy symptoms, Priya is genuinely horrified. She knows a positive test is going to leave her in a tough position because she’ll want to keep the baby – but that would mean wrecking Leyla’s life. Pete isn’t used to being the bad guy – he usually leaves that to his brother Ross. A baby would change everything for him and Leyla.
“He saw what happened when his Auntie Moira hid the fact that Adam was her brother-in-law James’ child rather than her hubby John’s.
“It almost tore the Bartons apart. How could he live with himself if he was playing happy families with Leyla while Priya was living up the road with his child?”
However, Priya finds herself in a difficult position when she decides to take her urine test in the Woolpack toilets and Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) walks in and demands answers, especially as her best friend had never mentioned a potential pregnancy before.
Meanwhile, Fiona recently admitted her alter ego’s romps with Pete will go on for a “while” and, although she will confess to her husband Rakesh Kotecha (Pasha Bocarie) that she’s been doing the dirty on him, she vows to keep his identity a secret.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Gatiss thinks his show ‘Sherlock’ gave Benedict Cumberbatch the platform to become an international star.
The 50-year-old show creator believes the talented actor owes a lot to the detective drama series, in which he plays the titular character, because it catapulted him into the limelight and put his name out across the globe.
Writing in the Radio Times magazine, he said: “No one marched on ITV when James Norton, a relatively new face, was cast in the lead of ‘Grantchester’ and now after three series he’s part of the furniture. When we started filming ‘Sherlock’, Martin Freeman was the established name. But it made Benedict Cumberbatch and Andrew Scott into overnight stars, so viewers do response to you being bold and imaginative.”
However, although he’s pleased that his programme has made the 40-year-old hunk into a global name, he has admitted it’s had its downfalls as Benedict’s now-busy schedule means the future of ‘Sherlock’ is up in the air.
Gatiss said recently: “It’s not lack of will – it’s a nightmare to schedule. It was very, very hard to schedule the last series, because of Martin and Benedict’s availability. And Steve’s [Moffat, his co-writer] and mine.
“There is always that ‘Fawlty Towers’ principle of, ‘Let’s just leave it’. We’ve had the keys to Baker Street for a while, but one of the wonderful things is that they’re always shared. They were shared while we were making it. There’s nothing wrong with saying, ‘That was our version, somebody out there go and do their version’.”
But it seems Gatiss and Moffat have different views as the 55-year-old television writer – who is the outgoing showrunner for ‘Doctor Who’ – is adamant that there will be another instalment – but it won’t be anytime soon.
He said: “We did [the last series] a year ago, just about, and I’ve been flat-out on ‘Doctor Who’ ever since. So I haven’t really thought about it. Mark [has] been doing other stuff as well, so we haven’t sat down and had a proper talk about what we would do with another series. I assume we will. I sort of assume we’ll come back.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Fallon has been sending her boyfriend pictures of the engagement ring she wants.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress has only been dating her beau Tom Leech for 18 months but she has admitted she knows they’ll tie the knot one day and have children together, so has been bombarding him with little photographs of how she wants her diamond jewel to look.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I know we’ll get married have babies together.”
Tom added: “She’s been sending me pictures of rings that she likes.”
But the 21-year-old beauty isn’t in any rush to get hitched by would like to be a married woman by the time she’s 25 so that she can start working on making a family with the hunk.
She explained: “That’s not going to happen for a long time, I’m only 21 and I’d like to get married when I’m 25 or 26.”
Tom added: “So I’ve got time to save up.”
However, they have thought about where they’d like to exchange vows.
Lucy said: “Somewhere hot and tropical and luxurious by the beach. Maybe Bora Bora.”
Although marriage isn’t on the cards at the moment, the pair certainly aren’t taking things slowly as they bought a house together in Blackpool after just a few months of dating.
Lucy said: “We were initially planning to rent somewhere in Manchester together, but I realised I wanted to stay closer to my family in Blackpool.”
Tom added: “We decided to buy together rather than renting. It took a long time to find somewhere we both loved though, so we didn’t move in until the beginning of this year.”
