Ashleigh Butler’s teary Pudsey tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashleigh Butler broke down in tears while discussing her pet pooch Pudsey’s final days.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner was left devastated after her 11-year-old dog passed away from acute leukemia on Friday (21.07.17), and she revealed her canine chum only started feeling ill less than 10 days ago.
She said: “I was actually at a dog show with him last weekend and on Monday (17.07.17) he wasn’t himself, he was sleeping a lot, so we took him to the vet on Tuesday.
“From the Tuesday to the Thursday he went downhill so quickly and the vet told us he had acute leukaemia and, on the Thursday, it got to the point where he couldn’t even lift his head.”
The dog trainer praised her four-legged friend for giving her an “incredible” opportunity after the pair became the first dog trick act to win ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ when they triumphed in the show’s sixth series final in May 2012.
She added: “It was incredible. He gave me an opportunity I never thought I’d ever have.”
Ashleigh’s dog Sullivan, known as Sully, will now perform with her but the star insists she will never be able to replace Pudsey.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “Sully will stay as Sully. I can’t change him into Pudsey. He grew up with Pudsey. Sully really looked up to him.”
Ashleigh took to her Instagram account to announce the heart-breaking news last week.
Posting a collection of photos of the pair together, she wrote: “I can’t honestly believe I am writing these words. My handsome man has gone, and I don’t know what to do without him.
“My heart is broken, and I don’t know how I’m going to get through this. It hurts so much, that my handsome, incredible Pudsey Bear will never be by my side, where he belongs, again.
“We only had 11 years together, but they were the best years ever. He was my one in a billion dog that will never be replaced.
“I don’t need to write all of his endless accomplishments on here to prove how incredible he was for me.
“Sleep tight my handsome man, I love you lots xxxx (sic)”

Stephanie Davis doesn’t want son to grow up like Jeremy McConnell

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis is adamant her baby son won’t grow up like his “drug addict” father.
The 24-year-old actress split from her on/off boyfriend Jeremy McConnell last month after they got into a physical spat that resulted in her being arrested on suspicion of grievously bodily harm but, although police have told them not to contact one another, she’s determined her six-month-old boy Caben-Albi will turn out the “complete opposite” to the heavily-inked heartthrob because he’s allegedly obsessed with drugs.
Taking to her Instagram account on Sunday (23.07.17) night, the brunette beauty said: “Just because his dad’s a drug addict womanising waisted doesn’t mean he will grow up like his father. Complete opposite of it has anything to do with me #slagscum (sic).”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star’s outburst came under a picture she posted earlier that night of Caben and her own “idol” father Roy playing pool together.
She accompanied the picture, which sees Caben sitting on the table, with the caption: “What a shot his idol what a man my father is to look up too, what a man!!! SO proud to call him my dad #grandad #grandson couldn’t be happier #mylads #ladsday (sic).”
Stephanie’s post comes just weeks after she said she has had it with her volatile on/off relationship with the model and her only focus now is their son Caben.
She said recently: “Caben’s my world, my absolute world, my pride and joy. If you asked J what time he was born how much he weighed he wouldn’t know.
“For him to say in an interview that he wishes the mother of his son dead is disgusting.
“He has NO respect. I have no words and don’t think Jeremy will EVER understand all his has done to me, and that’s what hurts the most.
“I have Caben to think of now, I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again – as long as my son is OK that is all I care about.
“What Jeremy has been telling me is love isn’t love . The hardest thing for me is I’ve never got closure and I never will get it, I’ve just got to accept it and move on.”
Jeremy spent six weeks in rehab earlier this year in a bid to beat his drug addiction.

Lucy Benjamin teases ‘fireworks’ in EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Benjamin has teased that there will be “fireworks” when her alter-ego Lisa Fowler comes face-to-face with Phil Mitchell in tonight’s (24.07.17) episode of ‘EastEnders’.
The 47-year-old actress has agreed to reprise her role as the former home-wrecker in the long-running show for a couple of weeks after her character learns that her daughter Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) was set on fire by two bullies at her school prom.
But, in true soap fashion, her return won’t be smooth sailing as she and her ex (Steve McFadden) will lock horns when they confront each other at their daughter’s bedside.
Speaking to the Radiotimes.com, she said: “There’s always going to be drama when Lisa is anywhere near Phil. There’s going to be fireworks. Phil isn’t Lisa’s favourite person in the world to be around.
“I think he’s a trigger for lots of things going wrong for Lisa. He’s not the sort of person that she needs to be around. But in true Lisa and Phil fashion, it will be quite explosive.”
And it won’t just be Phil she has a run in with, as Lisa will also be at loggerheads with the recovering alcoholic’s wife Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) – for a little while anyway.
She explained: “There was history with Lisa and Sharon. There’s always been fireworks there. Lisa realises Sharon is the woman in Phil’s life and is the right woman for Phil. Sharon is such a lovely human being and such a great character. Lisa will realise she needs to get in with Sharon as an ally. Of course, Sharon’s no fool and will stand her ground and will tell Lisa in no uncertain terms what she thinks of her. But Sharon is able to move on from that a lot more easily than Phil. She can have her say and have her piece and let people know how she feels. She’s a grown-up though, she’s lived. She’s made her own mistakes and is happy to move forward.”
Lucy quit the soap in 2010 after 12 years of playing the loveable troublemaker.

Shobna Gulati eyed for Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Shobna Gulati is being targeted for the new series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress’ representatives are set to meet with producers of the show with a view of her entering the famous abode next month.
A source told the Mirror Online: “Producers have been arranging a meeting with Shobna’s agents in hope of getting her on the show next month.
“Nothing is confirmed yet but they’re very interested.”
Programme bosses wouldn’t confirm whether the speculation surrounding the former ‘Loose Women’ panelist is true, but they are likely to be busy with other matters after the current line-up was reportedly leaked to the media ahead of the show launch on 1 August.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, the list includes ‘Geordie Shore’ star Nathan Henry, ‘TOWIE’s Pete Wicks, ‘Real Housewives’ star Brandi Glanville and ‘Ex on the Bach’ beauty Jemma Lucy.
The leak also revealed former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, disgraced TV presenter John Leslie, former ‘X Factor’ contestant Amelia Lily, ‘Gogglebox’ star Sandi Bogle, and Rodrigo Alves, AKA the Human Ken Doll, will all be going into the house.
However, this may change because of the leak.
A source said: “This is a nightmare for producers. They only want the housemates to know who they’ll be living with once they walk into the house.
“Now they will have the chance to find out about each other online. It could ruin the dynamic producers were hoping for.”
It was recently claimed Paul Danan will appear on the show as bosses still remember his entertaining antics on ‘Love Island’ in 2005 – which led to a spin-off show for himself and castmates Calum Best and Fran Cosgrave, ‘Calum, Fran, and Dangerous Danan’ – and hope he’s just as crazy as ever.
A source said: “Paul’s name has been bandied around the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ team ever since ‘Love Island’ returned to our screens. He was completely bonkers on that in 2005 so producers think he will be a great addition to ‘CBB’.
“They’re hoping he’ll bring a bit of the old ‘Love Island’ vibe to the house and stir up some mischief. It should be an explosive series with him on board.”

Montana Brown ‘never’ wants to talk to dad again

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Montana Brown “never” wants to speak to her estranged father again.
The 21-year-old beauty – who was dumped from the famous villa alongside her boyfriend Alex Beattie in last night’s (23.07.17) show – has blamed her dad for causing her to have trust issues when it comes to romantic relationships and is adamant she doesn’t want anything to do with him – even if he does reach out to her after the show.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “I know who my father is but I don’t have any sort of a relationship with him. I’ve grown up without him. I do not want to make amends with him at all – that is not what I am looking for and not why I entered the show.
“Even if he was proud of me for doing this experience – that is not something that is going to happen. I don’t want him in my life. I never thought I would speak about it on TV. It is something I normally do my best to avoid speaking about. But I have a lot of barriers so I needed to open up about that. It was important.”
The brunette star hit the headlines almost every day because of the amount of “noisy” sex she and Alex had in the love shack, but she’s adamant they didn’t get frisky any more than anyone else, their bed was just in line with the camera more than the others.
She explained: “For anyone who’s said that we had the most sex in the villa – that’s not strictly true. Kem and Amber had the most sex in the villa – without a doubt.
“The trouble was our bed was in the middle of everyone else’s so it was really obvious when we were at it. Amber and Kem’s bed was right at the end of the row – they got lucky being that far away. I was right in the middle. I did feel bad, as there were two couples either side of us but oh well. I was completely entitled to do what I wanted to.”

Montana Brown: We were encouraged to be b****y

OHMYGOSSIP — Montana Brown claims she was “encouraged to be bitchy” by ‘Love Island’ producers.
The 21-year-old graduate – who was booted off the show on Sunday night (23.07.17) alongside her boyfriend Alex Beattie – admits she is “guilty” of saying some things “in the heat of the moment”.
She said: “We were all encouraged to be bitchy. It was in the heat of the moment and I have been guilty of saying some things.”
And now herself and Alex aren’t eligible to win the £50,000, Montana wants to see Kem and Amber take the prize money.
Asked who she is rooting for to win, she said: “Amber has been through hell and back from the start. [Her and Kem] are only going to go from strength to strength.”
Whilst Alex wants Olivia and Chris to take the crown, he added: “Together, they are wicked.”
Meanwhile, Alex insists the pair are going to “play it by ear” when it comes to their romance out of the villa.
Alex told the Daily Star: “We are going to play it by ear. It will be strange out there. We will spend a lot of time with each other.”
And Montana has defended having sex on screen, insisting she and Alex weren’t the couple who were at it the most.
Speaking about her on screen antics, she added to The Sun newspaper: “For anyone who’s said that we had the most sex in the villa – that’s not strictly true. Kem and Amber had the most sex in the villa – without a doubt.
“The trouble was our bed was in the middle of everyone else’s so it was really obvious when we were at it. Amber and Kem’s bed was right at the end of the row – they got lucky being that far away.
“I was right in the middle. I did feel bad, as there were two couples either side of us but oh well. I was completely entitled to do what I wanted to do.”

Mark Gatiss to play The Captain in Doctor Who Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Gatiss will play a World War One soldier known as ‘The Captain’ in the ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special.
The show’s writer will take on his fourth role in the BBC sci-fi series when he appears on screen in Peter Capaldi’s final episode, which will be called ‘Twice Upon a Time’, in December.
No other details about ‘The Captain’ were revealed when the character was announced during a cast panel at San Diego Comic Con on Sunday (23.07.17).
Mark has previously played a mutated scientist called Professor Lazarus in 2007, voiced World War II pilot ‘Danny Boy’ in 2010 and 2011 and played Gantok in ‘The Wedding of River Song’ in 2011.
And he recently admitted he has no idea if he will remain as a writer when Steven Moffat steps down as showrunner and Chris Chibnall takes over.
He said: “I’ve no idea. It’s a funny thing, an end of an era.
“Obviously working very closely with Steven I feel it more than when Russell [T Davies, previous showrunner on’ Doctor Who’] left. I suppose there was more of a sense of continuity there, but I’ve no idea.
“I’ve had a fantastic run on my favourite show, so if I don’t do anymore then I’m perfectly sanguine. But who knows?”
Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Pearl Mackie will make an appearance in the upcoming Christmas special.
The actress’ alter ego Bill Potts was converted into a Mondasian Cyberman in season 10 of ‘Doctor Who’, much to the shock of fans after she had seemed to die, and the Time Lord’s companion will be back for the upcoming episode.
However, it has not been made clear exactly how Bill will make her return.
A teaser trailer for ‘Twice Upon A Time’ also debuted at Comic Con on Sunday.

Doctor Who boss slams critics of Jodie Whittaker’s casting

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat thinks too much has been made of the decision to cast Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor Who.
The 35-year-old actress was recently named as Peter Capaldi’s successor as the iconic Time Lord and Steven, who serves as the showrunner on the BBC programme, believes the vast majority of fans are supportive of the decision to appoint Jodie as the first-ever female Doctor.
Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday (23.07.17), he explained: “There has been no backlash at all. The story of the moment is that the notionally conservative ‘Doctor Who’ fandom has utterly embraced that change completely.
“Eighty-percent approval on social media, not that I check these things obsessively.
“So many people wanting to pretend there is a problem. There isn’t. It’s been incredibly progressive and enlightened and that’s what really happened.”
And the decision has also received the backing of Peter, who is poised to leave the show at the end of the tenth series.
The 59-year-old actor – who first appeared as the Doctor in 2013 – said: “I think Jodie is going to be amazing. I spoke to her the other day and she’s so full of excitement and passion about the show.
“It’s thrilling to know it’s in the hands of someone who cares for it deeply and is so excited about it. So she’s a great choice for it.”
Peter’s exit from the programme will also coincide with that of actress Pearl Mackie, who plays the part of Bill Potts.
However, Pearl has left the door slightly ajar for a possible reappearance at some stage in the future.
She teased: “The Christmas special, last chance to see Bill. But it is ‘Doctor Who’, so never say never.”

Harry Style overwhelmed by Dunkirk setting

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles was “overwhelmed” by Dunkirk beach.
The 23-year-old singer-and-actor admits shooting ‘Dunkirk’ on the place where the real World War II evacuations took place, and where almost 70,000 lives were lost, really brought home the scale of the tragedy to the cast and crew and they all felt a lot of “respect” for the “energy” of the French coast.
He said: “I think everyone was very aware of where we were. There was a sense of knowing it happened there, which comes across on screen.
“The first thing for me was just real shock at the size of the beach. You try to imagine it filled with men and filled with bodies.
“The area has an energy which people respect because it’s difficult to do anything else.
“It’s quite overwhelming. And I think being there — as opposed to just in a film studio — left no room for complaints for the whole crew.
“Filming was very physical, but I think everyone was aware that in comparison to the real soldiers’ experience, we weren’t going through much at all.”
The ‘Sign of the Times’ singer was desperate to land a role in the movie as soon as he heard about director Christopher Nolan’s plans.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “When I first heard about the project, I think it was something that — even before it started filming — I was already excited to watch.”
But he had to go through a tough audition process playing a series of parts along with a number of different actors, including his eventual co-star Fionn Whitehead.
He recalled: “Auditioning was a blind process. Fionn and I auditioned together.
“I was sitting in a cold, lonely room and he came in from a set of something he was working on. You had no idea what part you were auditioning for. We didn’t know how many parts there were and they kind of round-robined us a little bit, so we auditioned everyone with everyone. I don’t think there was any kind of favouritism.”

Gabourey Sidibe spends weeks in bed

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabourey Sidibe can spend “weeks” in bed when she isn’t working.
The 34-year-old actress is very active and stays incredibly busy when she’s filming musical TV drama series ‘Empire’ but admits that in the months where she gets a long break from the show, she rarely leaves the house, even though she tells people she is incredibly “busy”.
She said: “Eight months of the year, I’m filming ‘Empire’ in Chicago. You’d think it would get in the way of writing but I often write in my trailer.
“When I’m shooting, I need to be at work for 5.30am for make-up and wig installation. I have breakfast and ride to rehearsal on my tricycle – yes I have an adult tricycle that I keep on set so I can get around as fast and as annoyingly as possible . I’m usually on set for 10-12 hours. If I get off work early enough, I go home and swim in my building’s pool for an hour.
“Being on hiatus from work is an entirely different animal. I have no schedule. I can spend days, if not weeks, in my home, sleeping, watching TV and only leaving my bed to forage for food, while lying to everyone and telling them I’m busy writing. I am not.”
Gabourey shot to fame playing the lead role in ‘Precious’ and she admits it can be frustrating that people still associate her so strongly with a character she played so long ago.
She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: “I’m trying to give enough of who I am so that my audience is convinced of the real me: Gabourey V Precious. It can be very frustrating to be a 34-year-old woman mistaken for a character I played when I was 24.
“Even though that character did great things for my entire world, it’s Gabourey I’ve been working on my whole life.”

David Bowie was wanted for Blade Runner 2049

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Blade Runner 2049’ bosses wanted David Bowie to star in the film.
The highly-anticipated sequel will see Jared Leto in the role of Neander Wallace, but director Denis Villeneuve admitted his first choice was the late ‘Jean Genie’ hitmaker, but when the iconic singer passed away from cancer in January 2016, he was forced to look for someone else with similar rock star qualities.
Denis said: “Our first thought [for the character] had been David Bowie, who had influenced ‘Blade Runner’ in many ways. When we learned the sad news, we looked around for someone like that.”
However,, no one else was even considered for Ryan Gosling’s Officer K.
Denis said: “The part was written for Ryan right from the start. He was perfect.”
Harrison Ford returns to the movie as Rick Deckard and despite famously clashing with franchise creator Sir Ridley Scott, he insists he still has a lot of respect for the veteran filmmaker, but admitted he had a “very different” experience working with Denis.
He said:” Ridley and I have long made our peace with each other. Whatever the circumstances were during the original film, I have great respect for Ridley and admiration for his work.
“Of the 50-day schedule [on the original], 35 were nights. Which is a brutal regimen. Anyway, Denis is a very different kind of director…
“Denis brings enormous craftsmanship, cogent thoughts about storytelling. He is very direct and straightforward with the actors on the set. He either deeply loves it or thinks it is dog do.”
As for the filmmaker, he only agreed to step in once Ridley had to depart the project because of other commitments if he could get the director’s blessing to trust him with his vision for the film.
He told Empire magazine: “I had to have Ridley out of the way. Otherwise you feel like a vandal in someone else’s building. This movie had to be faithful to the poetry of the first movie, but have its own identity. Thankfully, he gave me full freedom.”

Michelle Pfeiffer joins Ant-Man sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’.
The 59-year-old actress will play Janet Van Dyne, the mother of Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne – aka Wasp – and the wife of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym in the upcoming sequel, Marvel revealed during their San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday (22.07.17).
In the comic books, Janet was the original Wasp and a founding member of the Avengers, and continued as a superhero after her husband retired, but she eventually went missing in another dimension and was assumed to be dead.
During the panel, a number of other casting announcements were made, including Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo and Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster.
Michael Pena will also star in the film, which sees Peyton Reed, who helmed 2015’s ‘Ant-Man’, return as director and Paul Rudd reprise his lead role of Ant-Man/Scott Lang.
‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ is scheduled for release in July 2018.
Meanwhile, Michelle has a string of other movies in the pipeline, including ‘Mother!’ and ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ but recently admitted she became “un-hireable” for a time because having her children Claudia, now 24, and John, 22, made her more “picky” and she was gradually offered less and less work.
The ‘Batman Returns’ actress – who is married to David E. Kelley – said: “I’ve never lost my love for acting. I feel really at home on the movie set. I’m a more balanced person honestly when I’m working.
“But I was pretty careful about where I shot, how long I was away, whether or not it worked out with the kids’ schedule. And I got so picky that I was un-hireable. And then … I don’t know, time just went on.”

Dan Osborne’s dad feared confrontation

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Osborne’s father feared his son wanted a “physical fight” with him following a family row.
Jim Osborne had been due to be the former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star’s best man at his recent wedding to Jacqueline Jossa, but didn’t attend after the pair fell out when he couldn’t make Dan’s stag party in Las Vegas.
Jim – who split from Dan’s mum Toni in 2001 and has a three-year-old son with his new wife Becky – told his son he couldn’t go to the US because of his little boy.
He said: “I thought Dan would understand, being a dad himself.
“I said, ‘My son needs me — he’s a little boy and is not going to understand.’
He said that he was my son too, but I explained he was a grown-up and that they might be up to things on the stag do they would not want me to see.”
After Jim broke the news, Dan replied: “Are you going to bother coming to the wedding?”
Jim said: “I replied saying, ‘If this is my invite, then no’. I thought it was obvious they didn’t want me there and I wasn’t invited.
“A friend sent me details of his wedding speech, which didn’t mention me.
“Someone at work even asked me if I was in my boy’s life.
“I feel so hurt and betrayed, it is so upsetting. I could never have thought this could happen to me.”
Dan then sent a string of messages to Becky, describing his dad as a “complete plonker”, and insisting he didn’t want to “sort it out”.
He wrote: “I don’t care about sorting it out any more, it’s boring now. I just want to hear the truth.
“The only time I’d hear any truth from him is talking face-to-face ’cause he thinks he’s hard through text and it’s laughable.”
Another message said: “I’ll leave him alone to have his new little life just the three of you if you want.”
Jim was “pretty shocked” and devastated when Becky eventually showed him the messages from Dan – who has son Teddy, three, with ex-girlfriend Megan Tomlin, and daughter Ella, two, with Jacqueline – because he felt he wanted some sort of confrontation.
He told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “When I read them I was pretty shocked, it sounded like he was on steroids or something.
“He said I should concentrate on my little family. That is heart-breaking, as he’s my family too.”
The bus driver thinks fame has “changed” his 26-year-old son and made him “distant” from his family.
He said: “Fame has definitely changed Dan. It has got worse since he has been with Jacqueline.
“I don’t want to blame her but he has become more distant with people who love him.
“It is very upsetting, especially as I have always been there for him. And I am not sure it will ever get better.”

Mike Thalassitis snuck Viagra into Love Island villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Thalassitis claims he snuck Viagra into the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 24-year-old hunk broke strict rules imposed by ITV2 bosses by smuggling the anti-impotency drug into his suitcase when he returned to the abode earlier this month and boasted it made his “piece” look “absolutely breathtaking”.
In a WhatsApp recording circulating among friends which has made its way online, he boasted: “Mate, first night back in the villa I had in my suitcase, I had a Viagra and I was drunk innit because we started drinking straight away.
I popped it and my piece was absolutely breathtaking.”
Mike also bragged about being able to earn money for making personal appearances at his favourite nightspots, including Faces in Essex, and has seen his fee rise since his second stint on the show.
He said: “Mate, that’s my old stomping ground, Faces. F*** now they’re paying me to go there — it’s mad.
“But I’m buzzing because obviously before I was getting like £1,200 to a grand for a PA — maybe £1,500.
“Now I’m getting £1,750 two bag (£2,000) per one. And so going back in has f***ing saved me massively.”
He also boasted about sleeping with Tyla Carr, but ruled out getting together with her in the outside world when the show ends.
He said: “I just thought f**k, yep I’m in her head now — she’s mine for the taking.
“But to be honest with you I’m not really going to go there with her — she’s fit. I thought she was one of the best looking in there but, like, no I wanna do bits when I get out.”
The comments are in contrast to when Mike and Tyla left the villa earlier this week and he claimed they had been discussing their “first date”.
He said: “Obviously we want to get to know one another better.
“She’s a good-looking girl. She had the best bum in there. We’ve talked about our first date.”
A show source confirmed to The Sun on Sunday newspaper they would have confiscated the Viagra if it had been found when Mike’s suitcase was searched.

Mel and Sue to host Generation Game revival

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are to host a revamped version of ‘The Generation Game’.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ hosts will front a four-episode run of the classic BBC competition, which sees pairs of family members battle it out in a series of games before the winning team faced the conveyer belt memory test to win a host of prizes.
The excited presenters said: “It’s a cuddly toy, it’s a toaster, it’s a circular power saw, no it’s MEL and SUE DOING THE GENERATION GAME!
“We can’t believe it, we are so excited!”
BBC bosses are thrilled to have the pair on board to front the “iconic” show.
BBC Director of Content Charlotte Moore, said: “‘The Generation Game’ is an iconic BBC One show, so to be able to bring it back for today’s audience with Mel and Sue overseeing things is a wonderful moment for the channel.”
The revamped show will combine aspects of the original series with new games and will see Mel, 49, and Sue, 47, joined by a panel of famous judges, while celebrity guests will also be making surprise appearances.
‘The Generation Game’ began on BBC One in 1971, with Sir Bruce Forsyth as host but he left in 1977, and the late Larry Grayson took over as host from 1978 until 1982.
Bruce returned for a four-year stint between 1990 and 1994, with Jim Davidson then taking over until 2002.
There were plans for Paul O’Grady to host a revival in 2004, but after shooting two pilot episodes, which were never broadcast, the presenter and production team were unhappy and he left the project.
Graham Norton hosted a one-off Christmas celebrity special, ‘Generation Fame’, in 2005 and Vernon Kay stepped in to front a Comic Relief special in 2011.

Harry Styles enjoyed being treated normally on Dunkirk set

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles found it “refreshing” not to be treated differently on the set of ‘Dunkirk’.
The 23-year-old pop star has made his movie debut in the World War II drama and he “liked” the fact director Christopher Nolan had no idea just how famous he is before he was cast, and he appreciated having the chance to be a part of a team.
Harry said: “I don’t think [my fame] was on [Nolan’s] radar at all and I liked it that way.
“I’m a newcomer to this – this has nothing to do with my music career. It felt refreshing just to be a part of the team. I wish I could feel that exact feeling more often.”
And the ‘Sign of the Times’ singer insists working on the film was incredibly different to anything he’s done in his career as a member of One Direction or as a solo artist.
He told OK! magazine: “It’s completely different. I enjoy this experience. Going in with nerves was a good thing. It helped that any tension I had personally helped the character a lot.
“[Music and acting] are totally different. I feel very fortunate to get to do what I love to do.
“Now I’m looking forward to exploring something new. There aren’t really that many similarities between singing and acting. This was a totally new experience for me.”
Harry enjoyed working on the movie, but is unsure what will be next for him.
He said: “I haven’t really thought about working on something specific. But I do want to keep on doing this. I like it. I’m in a movie with a lot of actors I really admire.
“Just to be involved in the whole process was a great new experience for me.
“When you’re growing up everything you experience is important. Finding the things that speak to you is the big thing. That’s important to me. It’s how I make my decisions.”
