Marwan Kenzari in talks to play Jafar in Aladdin

OHMYGOSSIP — Marwan Kenzari is in talks to play the evil Jafar in the live-action remake of ‘Aladdin’.
The 43-year-old actor – who will next be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s ‘The Murder on the Orient Express’ – is reportedly set to play the villain in the Guy Ritchie directed re-imagining of the beloved 1992 Disney animation.
If Kenzari joins the cast he will be starring with Will Smith as The Genie, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Mena Massoud as the titular street urchin.
Former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Nasim Pedrad has been chosen to play new character Mara, a handmaiden and friend to Jasmine.
Smith, Scott and Massoud were all announced for ‘Aladdin’ at Disney’s D23 Expo in California.
Previously, ‘Peaky Blinders’ star Tom Hardy was rumoured to be in the running to play the villain but now it appears Kenzari has landed the role.
Shooting on the project is due to start in the next few weeks.
‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’ writer John August has penned the script for the musical movie, which is believed to be non-linear in its structure, something that is a hallmark of Ritchie’s early work on movies like cult British crime romps ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’.
The story is based on the Middle Eastern folk tale of Aladdin who is granted three wishes by a genie who is captive inside a magic lamp.
The original cartoon – which saw the late great Robin Williams voice The Genie – won two Oscars, Best Music and Original Song for ‘A Whole New World’.
‘Aladdin’ has also been turned into a hit stage show playing at theatres all over the world.

Jeremy Renner feels isolated on big movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Renner feels isolated working on an Avengers movie.
The 46-year-old actor plays Hawkeye, or Clint Barton, in the Marvel Studios film series but admits when he is on set, it is very focused on his own scenes and the directors are responsible for pulling it all together at the end.
Asked how the experience on the big budget movie compares to that of a smaller indie film, he said: “You don’t even get to see a whole script or anything [with Avengers]. It’s kind of you just do what you do and you do it with whoever you’re doing it with, and that’s it. And you trust the directors and writers that are good what they’re doing. So, yeah.
“You just kind of go enjoy doing what you do with your deal, but it’s not like you’re … It’s a different movie. A different audience. They’re equally fun to do and equally rewarding. It’s just I get a little bit more satisfaction from the filming process on movies that require more complexity I suppose.”
However, the Hollywood actor likes being able to reprise the same role in the Avengers series so he can develop the character.
Asked if he gets to build on the character, he told Collider.com: “Yeah. I think so. I mean, I think they’ve got a lot going on in the Marvel world and I’m just happy to be a part of it. I do want to explore more with the character. I’m down.
“I’m always wanting to understand Barton much more cause I think he’s just a kick ass character and I hope we get to explore a lot more. It looks like we’re going to be pretty busy for the rest of the year, so I can’t wait to see what they come up with.”

Jeremy McConnell found guilty of assault

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis.
The 24-year-old actress broke down in tears in court on Monday (07.08.17) after she heard that the judge had decided the Irish hunk, with whom she has seven-month-old son Caben-Albi, had beaten her during a blazing row at her home in Liverpool, on March 10.
Judge Wendy Lloyd said in her ruling at the Liverpool Magistrates’ Court: “This is a sad story, like many of this sort there is much emotion on both sides.”
The 27-year-old reality TV star – who has pleaded his innocence since he was arrested and charged five months ago – has been bailed and will be sentenced this afternoon.
The courtroom heard how Jeremy “threw Stephanie around like a rag doll” because he thought she was having an affair with her pregnant best friend and a fireman.
She told the judge: “He was convinced I was having a lesbian affair with my pregnant friend, and the fireman across the road. He gets jealous. He was calling me a s**g, that I was fat and that no-one would ever want to touch me again.
“He put his thumb into the side of my gums, and that’s when I really started to panic. He was having, what I know and what Jeremy knows as, psychotic episodes.
“He took my phone off me, and I was trying to get it off him and he was ragging me everywhere. He bit the inside of my arm.”
The brunette beauty described the assault as “like something out of a horror movie” before she revealed Jeremy had smashed a bottle of wine over his own head.
The judge then decided to take a break after the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star began shaking in the witness stand because Jeremy began laughing at her testimony and was reportedly heard muttering “lies, lies, lies” under his breath.
She screeched: “Jeremy is laughing at me in the court. Why are you laughing? You’re a blatant liar. How can he do this to me?”
Stephanie then returned to the dock a short while later to state that the pair had ended their relationship in May 2016 – five months after they got together – but she decided to give the heavily-inked star another chance after their son was born in January 2017.
The prosecution told the courtroom that the former couple had visited Gusto Albert Dock restaurant with friends to celebrate Stephanie’s birthday but, when they returned home, a row broke out because the actress had asked the former ‘Beauty School Cop Out’ star if he was on drugs.
During the row, Stephanie managed to call her mother Pauline and she raced round to the house at 4am to find her daughter “visibly shaken and upset”, while Jeremy searched the property for a fireman he believed was hiding inside the property.

Kimberley Walsh praises ‘brave’ Sarah Harding for CBB stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberley Walsh thinks Sarah Harding is “really brave” for going in to the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The former Girls Aloud singer has admitted she’s so proud of her ex-band mate for agreeing to go into the famous abode but is concerned that she’ll make a fool out of herself because she’s “easily overwhelmed.”
Writing in her blog for Hello!, she said: “I can’t believe Sarah is in the ‘Big Brother’ house! I’ve managed to watch a couple of episodes and it’s actually really bizarre seeing someone you know so well in there. I think she’s really brave to put herself out there like that as it’s a lot of pressure and such an intense environment to be in. Sarah can sometimes be easily overwhelmed so I really hope she’s OK in there and enjoys the experience. She’s been great on the bits I’ve seen so far.”
But the 35-year-old singer hopes Helen Lederer will help guide the blonde beauty – who was once known as the “wild child” of the pop group – if she’s struggling with the pressure of the house.
She explained: “I also know Helen Lederer as we were in ‘Horrid Henry’ the movie together and I’ve worked with her again since and she’s hilarious, a really lovely woman and has been in the business a long time so I’m sure she’ll look out for Sarah.”
However, it looks like Sarah, 35, is already starting to struggle as she broke down in tears yesterday (06.08.17) – in scenes that will air tonight – after her fellow housemates put her up to face eviction.
She said in the diary room: “I don’t know who to trust anymore. I just don’t feel like I belong here anymore.”
The singer later calms down and tells Sandi Bogle: “We’re living in a bubble. Everything is magnified.”
Sandi replied: “Stay positive, be you and do you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy’s last-ever ‘CBeebies Bedtime Story’ will be a tribute to his late dog Woody.
The ‘Dunkirk’ actor will mark National Dog Day (26.08.17) by reading out his fifth and final script for the children’s programme, a tale called ‘Fleabag’.
The 39-year-old hunk revealed his pup had passed away last month, but when he filmed the story, which follows a boy’s friendship with his dog, Woody was still alive and was on set, so it’s the the perfect tribute for his beloved animal.
The pet meant so much to the ‘Taboo’ actor that he posted a lengthy note on his website to tell his fans the tragic news that the pooch – whom he rescued from a roadside whilst filming 2012’s ‘Lawless’ – had passed away aged six after a six-month battle with muscle disorder polymyositis.
In a lengthy post – which detailed exactly how Woody came into Tom’s life and was accompanied by a nine-minute video of pictures of the actor and the pooch – he wrote: “I don’t normally speak out about family and friends but this is an unusual circumstance. Woody affected so many people in his own right so with great respect to his autonomy and as a familiar friendly face to many of you, it is with great great sadness a heavy heart that I inform you that after a very hard and short 6 month battle with an aggressive polymyostisis Woody passed away, two days ago. The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ actor then thanked his late pet – whose full name is Woodstock Yamaduki Hardy – for “choosing to find” the Hollywood hunk.
He continued: “Thankyou Woody for choosing to find us. We will love you and be with you and you with us forever. Never ever ever forgotten. Your Boy tom xxx I love you beyond words. To the moon and back again and again to Infinity and beyond. Run with Max now and the Angels. I will see you when I get there.

Celebrity Big Brother stars face eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Chad Johnson, Trisha Paytas, Sarah Harding, Karthik Nagesan and Marissa Jade will face eviction from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house this week.
The famous faces only entered the infamous abode a week ago, but fans will get to see the back of one of them in Tuesday (08.08.17) night’s show as the public will decide which star will be the first of the summer series to get the dreaded boot.
The first person to join Marissa – who was put up for eviction last week when Shaun Williamson was forced to make a killer nomination on launch night – is Karthik.
Brandi Glanville said: “I find him disrespectful, and I honestly don’t like him.”
And she wasn’t the only one to feel that away as Sam Thompson agreed and added: “On personality alone I vote K, obviously. Because he’s a bit of a d**k.”
The second housemate to get put up is Sarah as Paul Danan claimed she’s always got something negative to say and never looks on the bright side of life.
He explained: “She’s always talking about the negative. It’s never the positives…”
Brandi explained: “I really like Sarah, a lot. I’m concerned for her wellbeing.”
And the final housemate they decide is Chad because of his arrogance and how he’s handled the situation with Amelia Lily after he claimed he liked her.
Shaun said: “Is there anybody who wants to nominate anyone apart than Chad? Because this can be a very quick conversation!”
Sam added: “I’m also not convinced whether he actually really likes Amelia.”

Stephanie Davis thought Jeremy McConnell was going to ‘kill’ her

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis thought her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell was going to “kill” her after he allegedly “threw her around like a rag doll” during a blazing row on March 10.
The 24-year-old actress appeared in court today (07.08.17) in Liverpool to give evidence against the Irish hunk – who faces an assault charge – and claimed he allegedly attacked her at her address in Merseyside after he suspected she was having an affair with her pregnant friend and a fireman.
She told the courtroom: “He was convinced I was having a lesbian affair with my pregnant friend, and the fireman across the road.
The brunette beauty described the alleged assault “like something out of a horror movie” before she claimed Jeremy had smashed a bottle of wine over his own head while under the influence of drugs.
The judge then decided to take a break after the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star broke down in tears in the witness stand because Jeremy – the father of her seven-month-old son Caben Albi – began laughing at her testimony and was reportedly heard muttering “lies, lies, lies” under his breath, according to the MailOnline.
She screeched: “Jeremy is laughing at me in the court. Why are you laughing? You’re a blatant liar. How can he do this to me?”
Stephanie then returned to the dock a short while later to state that the pair had ended their relationship in May 2016 – five months after they got together – but she decided to give the 27-year-old star another chance after their son was born in January 2017.
The defence accused Stephanie of “fabricating” parts of the assault and “embellishing” her injuries to stop Jeremy from going on the show ‘Ex on the Beach’.
She hit back: “I’d never had one mark since before I met Jeremy. But since I met Jeremy I’ve had to lie to the press and say they were from a deep tissue massage.”
Asked if Jeremy was the love of her life, Stephanie said: “No, not at all. I thought he was; I did really really love Jeremy. I helped him go to rehab, but you don’t do the things that he’s done to your worst enemy, let alone the mother of your baby. I’m finally free; he’s not in control anymore.”
Pauline – who did not witness the alleged assault – added: “His eyes were gone; they were bloodshot, he was sweating profusely … I said: ‘you little b*****d, you had your chance; I warned you’. Something like that.
“I went to get the baby and a coat or a cardigan to put him in a car seat. I just wanted to get Steph and the baby out of there. We were so scared. I went to the toilet straight away because the stress kicked off my irritable bowel syndrome.”
Jeremy has pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage but denied assault.
The trial continues.

Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood split up

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood have split up.
The ‘Love Island’ pair – who had somewhat of a tumultuous relationship on the show – have reportedly gone their separate ways after the blonde bombshell was seen getting close to her ex-boyfriend Blackburn Rovers player Bradley Dack on a night out.
A source told The Sun Online: “Chris has told his close friends it’s all over.
“He’s furious and heartbroken to see her all over someone else. It’s clear that they are more than just mates, so he’s dumped her.”
The split will no doubt come as a shock to their friends and family as just days ago they were talking about moving in together and getting married.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Olivia said: “The first time Chris came over to my flat, he said: ‘This is well nice. I think I’, going to live here.’ He asked me to get him a key cut.”
Chris added: “You asked me if I wanted a key. I had no idea you could get a key cut, I thought you got given a key when you moved into a house and that was the only one you could have. It’s happening though, we’re moving in together and we’ll get married.”
And the 26-year-old hunk had already thought about how he’d pop the question.
He explained: “I’m quite old fashioned and a real romantic, so it would be very traditional. When we do get married it’ll be a big party, it’ll be wicked.”
Olivia added: “We’ll definitely get married before we have children, but right now our priority is work and figuring out a way to spend as much time together as possible.”
But Chris had already told the 24-year-old beauty that he wanted to have three children.
He said: “We’ve spoken about it and we’ve agreed we want three kids, but it won’t be anytime soon. Give it two years and we’ll see what’s happening.”

Jennifer Metcalfe names son Daye Colmic Lake

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Metcalfe has named her baby son Daye Colmic Lake.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress gave birth to her first child six weeks ago and, although she and her beau Greg Lake have kept details about the tot close to their chests, they’ve now revealed the little one’s unusual moniker, which she made up a few years ago.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I made it up on the way up to Newcastle about two years ago. We weren’t trying for a baby – we never spoke about kids until we really wanted him – but we knew it would happen one day. I just stored the name until then.”
Greg added: “I wasn’t sure about it but one day I was driving home and I thought. ‘Daye Lake sounds good – I like this’. That was always the name for a boy. We 100 percent thought we were having a girl and we couldn’t decide on a name.”
And it wasn’t just Daye’s forename they made up as the couple also decided to give him a middle name that would be a tribute to their fathers Colin and Mick.
Jennifer said: “My dad was called Colin and Greg’s dad is Mick. Greg quite likes having the dads’ names carry on and I’m not a fan of having more than one middle name. I wanted something original and then our friends Rachel Adedeji and husband John Finegan were up visiting and it just sounded nice coming out of her mouth.”
And, although the 34-year-old star enjoyed her labour, the couple were shocked to find out that their little boy could’ve died because the umbilical cord had a knot in it.
Greg explained: “They [the midwives] said: ‘It’s a miracle!’ It’s a miracle when anyone has a baby so we thought they would say that, but the midwife lifted him up and showed us that the cord had a knot in it.
“Apparently they happen once in every hundred babies and what usually happens is a stillbirth. It was a tight knot but it must have been enough to get the oxygen and food through. If he had tightened it, he wouldn’t have got any oxygen.”

Cara De La Hoyde is expecting baby boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara De La Hoyde is expecting a baby boy.
The former ‘Love Island’ winner and her ex-boyfriend Nathan Massey – who met and fell in love on the show last year – are set to welcome their son into the world in November.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Cara said: “Obviously the main thing we wanted was for them to be healthy, but we were leaning towards wanting a boy, so we were so excited. We both just looked at each other and were like, ‘Oh my God, it’s a boy!’ …
“I’m not very girlie so I’d rather have a little boy who’ll get all muddy than a little princess. I’m a bit more rough and ready. Now we know the sex, it’s so much more real.”
And, although they’ve still got a few more months before they meet him, the pair are already trying to pick out a name for him and are adamant they want it to be traditional.
Cara explained: “We’re not naming him after food or a place, he’s going to have a strong name. And with clothes, I like the traditional look – like how Sam Faiers dresses baby Paul. I’m on a Whatsapp group with all the ‘Love Island’ girls and they want to buy stuff for the baby. I said: ‘Girls, I’m not being a diva but I don’t want any modern stuff.’ ”
Cara has also been giving her birthing plan some thought and has admitted she’d really like to deliver the baby in water because she’s “quite mother-earth” at the moment.
She said: “I want to do a water birth because I’m quite mother-earth at the moment. I’m going to do hypnobirthing sessions, too …
“I wouldn’t mind filming the birth for a TV show if it was for the right reasons. I’m going full Kourtney Kardashian and pulling the baby out and eating the placenta.”

Jodie Whittaker cried when she got Doctor Who job

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker “cried” when she discovered she had been cast as the first female Doctor Who.
The 35-year-old actress was unveiled as the Thirteenth Doctor and successor to Peter Capaldi in July, causing a commotion amongst ‘Doctor Who’ fans all over the world, with some delighted that the Time Lord is changing gender, whilst others were dismayed that their hero is becoming a woman.
Whittaker herself was absolutely thrilled to get the iconic part and admitted she shed a few tears when she got the call telling her she’d be getting the key to the TARDIS.
Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music’s Shaun Keaveny, Whittaker said: “It’s been quite quiet, I’ve only lied to every single person in my life for quite a while, and it hasn’t been stressful at all. It’s quite nice for the first public time to say, I’ve got a new job.
“I didn’t faint [when I got the part], I just played it really cool and cried. It was incredibly emotional, because as a child, all I wanted to do was be an actor, and I wanted to do it because I wanted to play pretend, and that’s the ultimate, and I’m about to play an alien, a Time Lord, and as a girl. Who knew? It’s incredible, and it’s really emotional. I feel like I’m immersing myself into a world that is just – I haven’t even done it yet, but the fans are the most kind and creative and enthusiastic people and it’s so exciting to be a part of that. There’s only a few people who know what it’s like, there’s only 13 of us that know.”
Whittaker worked with new showrunner Chris Chibnall on his ITV crime drama series ‘Broadchurch’ and she insists his vision for the sci-fi show is something all Whovians should be excited about.
The blonde star also has a lot of ideas for her portrayal of the Doctor and feels emboldened to not “have to tick the same box” as her male predecessors.
She said: “I already know Chris Chibnall, so I know how amazing he is. The direction he’s gonna take is gonna be amazing.
“The people that are in this role, that we’re excited by and we’re passionate about, that we look up to, don’t always have to tick the same box, and that’s what’s really incredible about it. I don’t even know what the journey is, but that’s the best thing about this part. Every script I read will be brand new and something that I can genuinely say I’ve never done before.”
Although her casting has split opinion among the programme’s fans, Whittaker has been oblivious to most of the online reaction because she’s not on any social media platform.
She explained: “At the moment I’ve missed a lot of the fun stuff, and probably the bad stuff, because I’m not on any type of social media and never have been. So if I get sent something, it’s a mate screen-grabbing something. And they obviously edit. But there’s an amazing video of a young girl watching it and finding out, [seeing] that it’s being played by a girl. Seeing things like that are really amazing.”
Whittaker will next be seen in new BBC One series ‘Trust Me’, in which she stars as Cath Hardacre, a nurse who loses her job after becoming a whistle-blower and then steals a friend’s identity to pose as a senior doctor at an Edinburgh hospital.
‘Trust Me’ begins on August 8.

Mary Berry won’t return to Great American Baking Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Berry has decided not to return to the ‘Great American Baking Show’.
US network ABC has confirmed the legendary baker’s festive special – the American version of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ – has not been recommissioned this year.
Network boss Channing Dungey was asked at an event in Los Angeles over the weekend if Mary was returning to the progrramme and she said: “Not at the moment but we would be happy to do something in the future.”
However, although both parties have agreed to leave the show this year, ABC are hoping to work with the 82-year-old star again in the near future.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Mary left the network on good terms but she has BBC commitments and wants to concentrate on them instead.”
The revelation comes just days after it was announced Mary had signed up to front the forthcoming eight-part series ‘Britain’s Best Cook’ on the BBC.
She said: “I am never more at home than when I have my judging hat on. This series is going to encourage proper home cooking which I have always championed and I cannot wait to start. Claudia, for me, is the icing on the cake.”
Bosses are aiming to secure another judge to join Mary, while Claudia Winkleman has jumped on board to host the show, and the pair can’t wait to get stuck in to filming
The show will “test the real-life expertise of truly great home cooks” as amateur chefs are pitted against each other while they show the nation the different dishes they make their loved ones in the kitchen every single day.
Meanwhile, Mary shocked the nation last year when she announced she was stepping down as a judge on the ‘Great British Bake Off’ after Channel 4 snatched the rights to the show from the BBC in a three-year mega-money deal.

Cold Feet set for more dramatic storylines

OHMYGOSSIP — The next series of ‘Cold Feet’ is set 10 months after the last.
The popular show returned to ITV in 2016 after a 13-year absence and fans will get to follow the lives of Adam, David, Karen, Pete and Jenny – played by James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John and Fay Ripley respectively – again in September.
A lot has happened in that time, the finale saw Adam and Tina finally hit it off and they’ve been inseparable ever since, living across the hall from each other.
Adam is keen to take their relationship to the next level and a proposal could be on the cards, but it all depends on Tina who doesn’t appear to be thinking that far ahead.
There is also trouble in paradise for married couple Jenny [Fay Ripley] and Pete [John Thomson].
The latter became suicidal last season and is now working as a chauffeur, but he is desperately seeking appreciation from his wife, who is busy making sure their teenage daughter Chloe is dealing with the news that Pete isn’t her real father, putting pressure on the couple’s relationship.
Elsewhere, Karen [Hermione Norris] is hyped about launching her own publishing house, but all is not as well as it seems after she hires Romana [Jacey Salles] as a personal assistant.
And finally, after David [Robert Bathurst] lost his high-paid finance job he’s struggling to get by selling insurance and his love life is also on a downer after his ex Karen snubbed him.
After a successful return for the show last year, bosses are keen to keep viewers hooked and while there is plenty of drama in store, there will also be some humour.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Life isn’t easy for any of the characters this time around.
“But that doesn’t mean there won’t be laughs.
“The writers are hoping this series will be even more popular with fans.”
‘Cold Feet’ is expected to air on ITV on September 8.

Danny Jones won’t do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Jones has no intention of signing up to ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The McFly singer’s band mate Dougie Poynter may have won over the hearts of the nation to be crowned the king of the jungle when he took part in the reality TV show in 2011, but the 31-year-old hunk isn’t planning to follow in his footsteps any time soon.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “There’s no reason for me to do the jungle.”
But it’s hardly surprising he’s ruled out the creepy crawly gig at the moment as the guitarist is reportedly being lined up to claim a seat on ‘The Voice’ mentoring panel next year after he impressed bosses with his recent stint on ‘The Voice Kids’.
Producers are on the hunt for someone new after Gavin Rossdale – who joined the show in 2016 when it moved from the BBC to ITV – was recently given the axe.
An insider said recently: “Gavin was great to work with during the series, but the bosses just felt he wasn’t right in the end. He didn’t make much of an impact, and they want someone with serious spark and charisma. So they have taken the decision that he won’t be back next year. Danny is currently one of the favourites to replace him.”
Not only is he wanted for jobs but Danny is also gearing up to become a father for the first time after he and his wife Georgia found out they were expecting recently.
He said a few months ago: “I think we’re having a boy. I’m going to be a mess at the birth – when I find out if we have a son or a daughter, when I meet him or her. I’d love to know but we’ve decided we want to have that big surprise.”
Model Georgia added: “They are going to need a mop for our tears in the delivery room – we are going to be so emotional. Even when we walked in for the first scan I started crying. All they’d said to us was hello.”

Angela Lansbury hints at Murder, She Wrote comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Angela Lansbury has hinted ‘Murder, She Wrote’ could return “one more time”.
The 91-year-old star has admitted she “wouldn’t be surprised” if the popular 80s and 90s show, in which she played crime writer and fighter Jessica Fletcher, was back on our screens at some point in the near future.
She said: “I was in genuine tears doing my last scene.
“Jessica Fletcher had become so much a part of my life, it was difficult to come to terms with it being all over.
“Having said that, there have been some two-hour specials since we stopped in 1996 and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got together just one more time.”
The original series aired for 12 seasons with more than 260 episodes, and Angela was “amazed” how the show became such a classic.
She said: “It was first seen on television in September, 1984, with a two-hour pilot and it was an immediate success.
“I was amazed at how successful it was. I never believed it would run for 12 years.
“I would not want to take anything away from Murder, She Wrote but when you are the principal in something like that you have to work incredibly hard to help keep it fresh.”
However, the star admitted the programme was so successful it didn’t give her time to do anything else and she was wary about being “trapped”.
She added to The Sunday Post: “My life totally revolved around it. There was hardly any time off and certainly no time or energy for doing anything else.
“You can get trapped.”
Last month, Angela admitted she felt “honoured” after it was announced she is to be given the Rose d’Or Lifetime Achievement Award – previously won by the likes of John Cleese – at the ceremony in Berlin, Germany, on September 19.
She said: “I’m honoured to be coming to Berlin in September, for the first time in my life, to receive this most coveted award, the Rose d’Or. I cannot thank you enough and I’m so looking forward to being there.”

Noel Fielding doesn’t eat cake

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Fielding doesn’t eat cake.
The 44-year-old comic is unlikely to get stuck into the contestants culinary creations on the ‘Great British Bake Off’ as he tries to avoid sugar because he claims he wouldn’t get work if he put on weight.
The show’s new host told the Sunday Times magazine: “It’s not that I don’t like cake… I have a very sweet tooth. But I was playing Alice Cooper and I had to lose a stone, so I wasn’t eating sugar.
“You can’t get straight back onto sugar, it’s a very powerful thing.
“I get more work when I’m thinner, so I can’t put on weight.
“No one likes a tubby gut. I don’t eat anything, I’m like a plant.”
And Noel’s co-presenter, Sandi Toksvig, didn’t know what she was getting into when she signed up to join him in fronting the revamped show as he revealed she had “never seen ‘Bake Off'”.
Asked her favourite ever episode, Sandi admitted: “The one where they make cake? I don’t watch a lot of television; I’m more of a reader.”
Joining Paul Hollywood as a judge on the show – which has moved to Channel 4 – is Prue Leith and she admitted she “thought twice” about accepting the job because of her healthy eating ideals.
She told the publication: “I really thought twice about accepting Bake Off… but I reasoned that, actually, baking is the best way to get people into general cooking.
“And that’s what we need the nation to do: to get interested in the kitchen.
“Even if you don’t allow yourself to eat too much cake, you still like drooling over it.”
