Kate Winslet felt ‘scared’ filming The Mountain Between Us

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet felt “scared” filming ‘The Mountain Between Us’.
The 41-year-old actress portrays Alex Martin in the romantic based on Charles Martin’s survival thriller novel of the same name, and the star has admitted the harsh weather conditions in the Purcell Mountains near Calgary and the scene where she came face to face with a lion frightened her, although she “loved” working on the project.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “As hard as it was, as scary as it was, I really did love it.
“It was quite frightening, but amazing at the same time because of how spectacularly beautiful it was.”
Kate was not fazed by the obstacles and actually felt “excited” by the “physical challenges”.
She said: “I was excited by the physical challenge. I hadn’t done something quite so extreme for a really long time.”
And the minus 30 degree temperature took its toll on filmmaker Henry Abu-Assad who couldn’t move his mouth to direct the cast because his face had frozen.
He explained: “On certain days, I couldn’t move my mouth. My muscles in my face were frozen.”
But the ‘The Dressmaker’ star thinks it is “funny” how her audience will not believe the circumstances her and her colleagues had to endure whilst filming the movie.
She said: “There’s a funny thing that happens with actors. From the outside looking in people assume that it wouldn’t be as cold for the actors, that there would have been extra things or magical fairy dust sprinkled on them to make them not as cold as everybody else. Just forget all that, because that does not come into play in this film at all.”
And Kate believes people will compare her appearance in ‘The Mountain Between Us’ with ‘Titanic’, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, although she believes the two productions are “wildly different”.
She explained: “I’m realising now, as I’m talking about this film, people are going to want to compare it to ‘Titanic’. Actually, they are so wildly different.”

George Clooney cut Josh Brolin from Suburbicon

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney has cut Josh Brolin out of ‘Suburbicon’.
The 56-year-old star, who directs the forthcoming crime film, has revealed he had to chop the Hollywood actor’s part because it didn’t work, despite being the “two funniest scenes in the movie”.
He said: “We shot a couple of scenes with Josh [playing] a baseball coach that are really, really funny.
“But after we did our first screening, the one thing that became really clear to me was that [the scenes] let the air out of the balloon, in terms of the tension in the film.
“I had to write him this awful note where I just said, ‘You’re not going to believe it. but these scenes really don’t work any more.’
“He felt bad, and he thought maybe something went wrong, and I said, ‘I’m sending you the scenes, so you can see, they’re actually the two funniest scenes in the movie.’
“I remember sitting there with the editor going, ‘F**k! I can’t believe this!’ ”
Clooney knows the feeling of having scenes cuts as the actor admitted he was supposed to appear a lot more prominently in 1998 war movie ‘Thin Red Line’.
He said: “I’ve sort of been in the same situation. I did a bunch of scenes in ‘Thin Red Line’ and then got a call from Terry [Malick], saying, ‘We’re cutting out everything except the very last scene.’
“I was like, ‘Please cut me completely out of the movie! Don’t leave me in one scene!’ ”
Clooney insists there was “no option” but to remove Brolin’s scenes from ‘Suburbicon’, despite his acting being “absolutely great” in the forthcoming film.
He added to Entertainment Weekly: “But, [on ‘Suburbicon’], it is one of those where we were just, like, ‘There was no option.’ He was so great in the film. I never like talking about those kind of things because it can be really unfair to an actor, except to say he was just absolutely great in the movie.”
‘Suburbicon’ stars Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, and Oscar Isaac, and is set for an October release.

Susan Calman joins Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Susan Calman has been confirmed as the ninth celebrity to join ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2017.
The 42-year-old comedian, who hosts new CBBC quiz show called ‘Top Class’ as well as BBC One’s new daytime shows ‘The Boss’ and ‘Armchair Detectives’, has confirmed she will compete for the glitterball trophy when the show returns this year.
The announcement was made on Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show on Tuesday (15.08.17).

She explained: “Being on ‘Strictly…’ is a dream come true. Finally I can reveal all the moves I’ve been practising in my kitchen to the nation. I am an enthusiastic home dancer and now on Saturday nights I’ll be dancing in other people’s homes in a (hopefully) entertaining way. I am terrified but excited to start my Strictly journey.”
Susan is also a broadcaster and a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4. She appears on ‘The News Quiz’, ‘The Unbelievable Truth’, ‘Now Show’, ‘Dilemma’, ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’ and ‘So Wrong It’s Right’; and she recently recorded the second series of her sitcom ‘Sisters’.
She has also appeared on ‘QI’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘Mock the Week’.
Susan joins the so-far confirmed line up of; Aston Merrygold, Simon Rimmer, Joe McFadden, Reverend Richard Coles, Gemma Atkinson, Ruth Langsford, Davood Ghadami and Mollie King. More celebrity contestants will be announced in due course.
Although some stars are yet to sign on the dotted line, one thing’s for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.
The forthcoming series will see legendary choreographer Shirley Ballas claim Len Goodman’s Head Judge seat following his shock departure at the end of last year and, although the fellow panelists – Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli – are excited to have her on board, they’re convinced she’ll stand her ground.

EastEnders’ Jay Brown’s world to fall apart

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Jay Brown’s world is set to be blown apart when Phil Mitchell reveals that he killed his father.
The young mechanic – portrayed by Jamie Borthwick – feels like he owes so much to the recovering alcoholic (Steve McFadden) as he took him under his wing and cared for him when his dad Jase Dyer (Stephen Lord) was brutally murdered in 2008, but things are set to turn dark when he discovers that the man who has been treating him like a son all these years was actually the person responsible for claiming his father’s life.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Jamie said: “His whole relationship with Phil has been ruined, and Jay can never forgive him – he’s distraught. But Phil has done so much for him. so he’s torn between the devil and the deep blue sea. Phil’s been a big influence in his life – without him Jay would have no money, he wouldn’t have anywhere to live. He’s really in a tricky position, that’s for sure.”
The drama will play out across two episodes – focused on Phil and Jay – and the although the 23-year-old star thoroughly enjoyed working on the scenes, he’s worried what it’ll mean for his character.
He explained: “I was flattered to be trusted with such an important thing – and to be able to hold court with Steve for half an hour! Hopefully I’ve kept up with him. I just try and do my best all the time, so fingers crossed everyone will be happy. But full credit has to go to the crew – they threw everything at the episode, and it was just fantastic. I really enjoyed filming it. It really kicks in from now.”

Aston Merrygold wants to partner ‘shortest’ dancer on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Aston Merrygold wants to be paired with the “shortest dancer” on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The JLS singer has just agreed to take part in the forthcoming series of the ballroom and latin show, which will return to screens this autumn, but has admitted he’s concerned that bosses will put him with a “six-foot goddess” and it’ll look “odd” because he’s only 5ft4.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I want the shortest dancer. It would be odd if you had some six-foot goddess trampling around me.”
The 29-year-old hunk – who was known for back flipping across the stage while performing with his band – has hit back at claims he’s at an advantage because of his past dance training and insists he’s never once tried ballroom and latin and it’s completely new to him.
He explained: “I am not a semi professional. It’s ballroom. It has nothing to do with what I do.”
But Aston is willing to do all it takes to lift the famous glitterball trophy at the end of the series – even if that means ripping his top off to flash his toned pecs.
He said: “Will I get my chest out? That’s nothing new. In my JLS days there were no tops. My aim is to win. Anyone who says they just wanted to take part isn’t telling the truth. Winners have the best time and get a trophy. Surely everyone wants to do this.”
He joins Simon Rimmer, Joe McFadden, Reverend Richard Coles, Gemma Atkinson, Ruth Langsford, Davood Ghadami and Mollie King who have also been confirmed for the new series, while more celebrity contestants will be announced in due course.
Although some stars are yet to sign on the dotted line, one thing’s for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.

Alison King to return to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison King will return to ‘Coronation Street’ later this year.
The 44-year-old actress has agreed to reprise her role as tough-talking businesswoman Carla Connor in the long-running soap this Christmas after the show’s new boss Kate Oates begged her to return in order to “break new ground” on screen.
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, Kate – who became the executive producer in 2016 – explained: “Ever since I got here, it’s been rumoured that Carla’s coming back. But it was never true. Even the latest indications of it. Ali has only just signed her contract and she’ll be back around Christmas.
“It’s time to break new ground with Carla. I didn’t want to put her on that familiar cycle of self-destruction, recovery, followed by more self-destruction.”
Although the details of Alison’s return are being kept tightly under wraps, Kate has teased that viewers will be on the edge of their seats as her alter ego will go head-to-head with her best friend Michelle McDonald (Kym Marsh) for the first time ever.
Kate explained to the publication: “What we’ll have instead are these two strong Connor women – Carla and Michelle – on opposing sides and in conflict for a change. It’ll be a refreshing dynamic for us to see.”
Carla hasn’t been seen on screens since May last year when her wedding to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) was ruined and she fled the cobbles for what seemed like for good.
Speaking about her reasons for leaving, Alison – who played Carla for 10 years – said she had to take a break from the soap in order to spend time with her daughter Daisy.
She added: “All Daisy has ever known is me getting out of the house at 7.30 in the morning and getting back when she’s in bed. I’ve probably only ever done about 20 pick-ups or drop-offs in all the time she’s been at school, which is quite sad.”

Only Fools and Horses to make comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Only Fools and Horses’ could make a comeback – but “in different mediums.”
Fans were left devastated when it was revealed that the popular sitcom – starring Sir David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as his silly brother Rodney Trotter – had been laid to rest after its creator and writer John Sullivan passed away 2011.
But John’s son Jim, who also helped write the spin-off ‘The Green Green Grass’ – has teased that he may pen something in the future for the well-loved characters.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “I’ve always said that Only Fools – the series as we know it – was laid to rest with my dad. However, that is not to say that the show and its characters cannot, and will not, be explored in different mediums.
“All I can say at the moment is: watch this space. Is it a question of protecting my father’s legacy? Absolutely – that has always been, and always will be, my priority.”
Jim has plenty of experience when it comes to the characters as well as he previously wrote for ‘Only Fools and Horses’ in 2014 when he created a sketch, which saw Del Boy and Rodney join forces with David Beckham, for the Sport Relief charity special.
He explained: “I love to write, but much of that is now in connection with the series, such as the Del Boy autobiography ‘He Who Dares’. Writing the Sport Relief sketch was a great experience but I felt pressure to get it right and do justice to the characters.”
Meanwhile, earlier this year, David admitted he had no desire to do anymore ‘Only Fools and Horses’ episodes without John.
He said at the time: “If we had the wonderful writer, the lovely John Sullivan, we would, I tell you. But we haven’t got a writer, and my partner Nick [Lyndhurst] has gone on to do other things. So you’re stuck with ‘Open All Hours’!”

Siobhan Finneran joins Cold Feet

OHMYGOSSIP — Siobhan Finneran is set to join ‘Cold Feet’.
The 51-year-old actress is best known for playing Jan in ‘Benidorm’ but now she is moving away from the Spanish hotel and has been cast to play Cheshire housewife Nikki Kirkbright in the hit ITV comedy-drama.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, the actress said: “I’m incredibly happy to be involved in ‘Cold Feet’ as I’ve always been a fan.
“It’s an absolute joy to be part of such an iconic series. Working with the Roberts and the rest of the cast has been a great pleasure.”
The popular show returned to ITV in 2016 after a 13-year absence and fans will get to follow the lives of Adam, David, Karen, Pete and Jenny – played by James Nesbitt, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson and Fay Ripley respectively – again in September.
A lot has happened in that time, the finale saw Adam and Tina finally hit it off and they’ve been inseparable ever since, living across the hall from each other.
Adam is keen to take their relationship to the next level and a proposal could be on the cards, but it all depends on Tina who doesn’t appear to be thinking that far ahead.
There is also trouble in paradise for married couple Jenny [Fay] and Pete [John].
The latter became suicidal last season and is now working as a chauffeur, but he is desperately seeking appreciation from his wife, who is busy making sure their teenage daughter Chloe is dealing with the news that Pete isn’t her real father, putting pressure on the couple’s relationship.
Elsewhere, Karen [Hermione] is hyped about launching her own publishing house, but all is not as well as it seems after she hires Romana [Jacey Salles] as a personal assistant.
And finally, after David [Bathurst] lost his high-paid finance job he’s struggling to get by selling insurance and his love life is also on a downer after his ex Karen snubbed him.
Siobhan’s character will have a close bond with Bathurst’s alter-ego David but it appears Nikki is just using him.
After a successful return for the show last year, bosses are keen to keep viewers hooked and while there is plenty of drama in store, there will also be some humour.

Miranda Hart’s apology after missing Annie shows

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart has apologised to fans after missing ‘Annie’ performances.
The 44-year-old actress plays Miss Hannigan in the musical but has been forced to pull out of shows for a week because of a throat infection, and she has said sorry to supporters, especially those travelling “long distances” to see her on stage.
She wrote on Twitter: “All actors will concur, worst thing about the job, getting ill.Hate letting anyone down.Been gutting to be away from @AnnieMusicalUK but
“voice stronger every day. I’m SO sorry to all fans coming long distances. I now know the hazard of my new love – musical theatre. (sic)”
A spokeswoman for the show revealed doctors had diagnosed “an ongoing throat infection”, but some fans were devastated at Miranda’s absence after forking out for tickets purely to see her.
A show source told The Sun newspaper: “Fans were gutted and were quizzing staff why Miranda didn’t turn up. People paid a lot of money for tickets, specifically to see her perform.
“They were angry they were getting the understudy, as good as she was.”
However, Miranda, who was replaced by understudy Anne Smith at London’s Piccadilly Theatre, is hoping to be well enough to return to the stage this week.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Craig Revel Horwood will takeover from Miranda in the role of Miss Hannigan from September 18 on the West End.
He portrayed the character in 2015 in Nikolai Foster’s production, and can’t wait to do so again.
Craig said: “I am so pleased to be returning to the West End especially to a role I had such a brilliant time performing on tour.
“Miss Hanningan is evil, sassy and fab-u-lous.
“It will be a real challenge for me not to take her man-hungry, wicked ways to the ‘Strictly’ judging panel each Saturday night – though I’m sure my fellow judges will keep me in check! I can’t wait to get started.”
Miranda’s ‘Annie’ absence comes after she had to pull out of last year’s ‘Call the Midwife’ Christmas special due to a mystery illness.

Ant McPartlin credits NHS doctor for his ‘recovery’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin has praised an NHS doctor for helping with his “recovery”.
The 41-year-old presenter underwent a major knee operation in June this year, which he has claimed sparked his drug addiction, but the star cannot stop singing the praises of Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital’s medical expert Professor Deehan who has played a “huge part” in turning Ant’s life around.
A source said: “Professor Deehan has been a huge part of turning Ant’s life around. Ant thinks he’s brilliant and can’t stop telling everyone how important this guy has been to his recovery.
“He was so let down by private healthcare, both in terms of his failed knee op and doctors who kept prescribing him dangerous painkillers in London. Ant knew he needed a different surgeon.”
Ant suffered the injury three years ago when he was on tour for ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ following a river dancing mishap, but the private operation was unsuccessful and led to a hairline fracture, which caused the ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble’ hitmaker chronic pain.
Speaking recently about the injury, the ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me out Of Here!’ host said: “It’s a very painful operation. They physically break your bone. They’ve broken the tibia and moved it across to realign my leg to stop the pressure.”
Ant – who is known for being one half of the comedic duo alongside is close friend Declan Donnelly – has recently left rehab after a two-month stint after he was rushed to hospital at 5am following an “insane” binge of painkillers tramadol and morphine, along with alcohol, while recovering from the surgery.
And it is believed Professor Deehan continued to check in on his patient to support him through his difficult time.
Another source said: “He has been incredibly supportive throughout his time in rehab.”
However the orthopaedic surgeon believes Ant is “motivated” to overcome his demons and has found treating Ant “a joy”.
He told The Sun Online: “It is always a privilege to help and surgery is a team effort. It is also very easy and a joy to treat a patient who is so honest and as motivated as Anthony.”

Ben Affleck says DC are getting it right

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck thinks DC Comics are finally “getting it right”.
The DC Extended Universe has had a number of poorly received movies from ‘Suicide Squad’ to ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ – in which he played the Caped Crusader opposite Henry Cavill – but following the hit ‘Wonder Woman’, the 44-year-old actor thinks “they’re hitting their stride”.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said: “This is a really nice time to work in DC. They’re hitting their stride.
“They’re getting it right. It’s starting to feel like it’s really working.
“I’ve never worked on a movie that didn’t do reshoots. ‘Argo’, we did reshoots for a week and a half. Four days on ‘Gone Baby Gone!'”
Ben feels like the “luckiest guy in the world” to be the latest star to play Batman because he doesn’t think there’s a “cooler” character in comic book history.
And after stepping down from directing ‘The Batman’ to focus on his performance, he is thankful his replacement, ‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ filmmaker Matt Reeves, still wants him in the lead role.
He added: “I am the luckiest guy in the world. Batman is the coolest part in any universe, Marvel, DC, anything – I’m so thrilled to do it. It’s f**king amazing. I still can’t believe it.
“Everyone at the studio tells me I’m their Batman and I believe it. And Matt Reeves? I’d be an ape on the ground for Matt Reeves.
“I’m blown away, and it’s an exciting time in the DC Universe. I’m excited to be Batman.”
Ben will also reprise the role in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ film, which will bring together the DC heroes Batman, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Superman (Cavill).
‘Justice League’ hits cinemas in November this year.

David F Sandberg wants to make new Nightmare on Elm Street

OHMYGOSSIP — David F. Sandberg wants to make a new ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ film.
The filmmaker recently helmed the new ‘Conjuring’ spin-off movie ‘Annabelle: Creation’ and now he has admitted he wants to reboot the Wes Craven cult classic, which centres around the iconic Freddy Kreuger.
Speaking to Screenrant.com, Sandberg said: “I’ve been thinking about what fun franchises New Line has like ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ and ‘Critters’.
“Might be fun if you took something like that in a different direction from previous instalments. Like instead of remaking ‘Nightmare’ you do some continuation of it in the same world kind of thing.”
Craven’s original movie was released in 1984 and introduced Freddie to the horror genre and since then there have been eight more movies based around the dream-murdering villain.
The last movie in the franchise was a 2010 remake of the first film, which saw Jackie Earle Haley as Freddie, taking over the role from Robert Englund.
Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz and Katie Cassidy also starred as the teenagers Kreuger terrorized.
Sandberg also mentioned he wants to reboot ‘Critters’ – a more comedic horror released two years after ‘Nightmare’.
‘Critters’ followed two intergalactic bounty hunters on a mission to captures escaped aliens who have landed on Earth and are terrorizing a rural town in Kansas.
Although, not spawning as many sequels as ‘Nightmare’, ‘Critters’ had four films in the franchise with the latest one being released in 1992.
Sandberg’s contribution to the ‘Conjuring’ universe is just one of many scheduled to be released over the coming years.
‘The Nun’ which is based on the terrifying ghost of a demonic holy woman will hit cinemas in 2018.
‘The Crooked Man’ will be the fourth spin-off in what is now called The Conjuring Universe with James Wan and Peter Safran producing the paranormal horror.

Rian Johnson says Han Solo will have major role in Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — Rian Johnson said Han Solo will still have a major part in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
Harrison Ford’s iconic character was shockingly murdered by his own son Ben Solo/Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in the 2015 movie ‘The Force Awakens’, but the director thinks it was important to still retain his “figurative ghost”.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “A figurative ghost of Han had to be present throughout this entire film.
“Kylo has definitely been knocked off base. The defeat that he had at the end of ‘The Force Awakens’, but even bigger than that, his huge defining act which, spoiler alert, is the murder of his father… that’s the more interesting thing to dive into.
“How has he dealt with that in his head? Where is he at in terms of that act and what does that mean for him?”
The filmmaker also confirmed that Han Solo’s long-time companion Chewbacca has a new mission.
He said: “Chewie’s doing all right. It’s tough. It was obviously a big loss for him, but, you know, he’s Chewie. He’s resilient.
“He’s got broad Wookiee shoulders, and he also has a new mission. He’s got Rey, and she’s someone that Han, to a certain extent, handed the keys to. So I think that helps.”
Daisy Ridley – who plays the parentless hero Rey – also said her character cannot understand Kylo’s actions.
She said: “She just doesn’t understand Kylo. When all she wanted was parents, why would a person who has parents do that?
“It’s so beyond comprehension, it’s ridiculous. So she has grief for the loss and then there’s anger. To be honest, she couldn’t understand doing something like that – let alone to your parents.”
‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ hits cinemas this December and sees John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Dohmnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Andy Serkis and the late Carrie Fisher all reprising their roles.

Rian Johnson says Rey’s parents will be revealed The Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — Rian Johnson confirmed Rey’s parents will be revealed in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
Fans began speculating about the lineage of the mysterious Force-using orphan – who is played by Daisy Ridley – since her first appearance in ‘The Force Awakens’, and now the director of the next installment in the ‘Star Wars’ universe has confirmed they’ll be getting some answers soon.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “To me, it’s important insofar as it’s important to her. And I think it’s important to her in terms of what is her place in all of this.
“What’s going to define her in this story? She was told in the last movie that the answer’s not in the past; it’s looking forward.
“But she’s showing up on this island to talk to this hero from the past. You can be told the answer’s not in the past, but I think she still has a lingering hope that she’s going to find the thing that’s going to say ‘this is where you belong. This is where you are from’.
“I think she still holds onto the thought that where she comes from will help define where she’s going.”
In the joint interview, Daisy teased the reveal will not affect her character’s journey in ‘Star Wars’.
She said: “You can always look for answers and that doesn’t mean that the rest of your life is so easy.
“It’s not like ‘oh, I know who my parents are so now everything falls into shape’, especially in the ‘Star Wars’ world.”
The returning cast includes John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Dohmnall Gleeson (General Hux), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia, while Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran are all newcomers to the franchise.
‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ is slated to be released this December.

Karen Gillan wants to be female Joker

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan wants to play a female Joker.
The 29-year-old actress is currently a prominent figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe playing blue-skinned alien assassin Nebula in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise but admitted she would like to be part of Marvel’s rival, the DC Extended Universe because she dreams of playing Batman’s biggest foe.
Speaking at a Q&A session at Florida Supercon, the actress said: “Oh can I say something DC? Okay, I’m going to say something DC, and I’m going to play the Joker.
“Maybe a female Joker. This is my calling! Somebody make a call for me and let them know I’m available.”
Although Gillan – who rose to fame starring as companion Amy Pond alongside Matt Smith in ‘Doctor Who’ – wants to star in the DCEU, the actress recently said she sees a lot of possibilities for Nebula in future stories.
Nebula is set to appear in the ‘Avengers’ films and the third ‘Guardians’ movie and Gillian hopes the character gets to fulfil her wish to murder her stepfather Thanos in one of the stories.
She said: “I thought I would be coming back but then when I read the script for the second film I saw all the stuff that I got to do and all the emotional stuff and I was just really excited.
“I would like to see Nebula be embraced into the ‘Guardians’ family because I think that’s what she probably needs, even though she wouldn’t ever let on.
“I would like to see her fulfil her clear agenda which is to kill Thanos. I think that would be cool.”
Karen is remaining tight-lipped about the plot for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ but she did say her character has a “good presence”.

Samuel L. Jackson ‘never worried about being the lead’

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson has never worried about being the lead in a movie.
The 68-year-old actor is among the best-known faces in the movie industry, but has insisted his career choices have never been driven by ego, meaning he’s been happy to play small roles in high-profile films.
He shared: “I watched movies all my life. And I knew who character actors are. I always wanted to be those guys that move the story along in a way, or when you saw them, you knew a specific kind of thing was going to happen.”
The Hollywood icon cited his minor role in the Eddie Murphy comedy ‘Coming To America’ as one example.
In the 1988 movie, Jackson played a minimal role in which his character tried to rob a fast-food restaurant.
He told Den of Geek: “When I did ‘Coming To America’ and I robbed MacDonald’s, I wanted that robber to be special, so I gave him a desperation that you wouldn’t normally have in a movie like that. You know?
“To be a foil for Eddie Murphy. [But] I had my own thing happening. You knew I needed that money. I wanted it. And if I didn’t get it, someone was gonna get hurt. You know?
“So, when you leave, and your scene is over, people are still talking, ‘Man, that robbery scene was off the chain!'”
What’s more, Jackson has always accepted he was never going to be “the guy that gets the girl”.
He explained: “You don’t necessarily need to be, you know, the lead guy. I mean, I wasn’t gonna be the guy that gets the girl. You know. I wasn’t Denzel [Washington], I wasn’t … you know … Howard Rollins.”
