Jemma Lucy ‘threatened’ by Sarah Harding?

OHMYGOSSIP — Jemma Lucy feels “threatened” by Sarah Harding.
The pair have locked horns on numerous occasions since they entered the infamous house earlier this month, but the former Girls Aloud singer’s best friend Michelle Vince is convinced the ‘Ex on the Beach’ babe has taken aim at the blonde bombshell because she’s jealous of her talent and looks.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Michelle said: “I really don’t know [why Jemma hasn’t taken such a dislike to Sarah]. Maybe she feels threatened by Sarah. Sarah is very successful and is a very pretty girl. Maybe it’s to do with that? Or is it that she has gone in there playing a game? I don’t know.”
And, although the 35-year-old beauty has broken down in tears many times over the past two weeks because of the amount of squabbles she’s had with other housemates, Michelle has praised her friend for her “strength” and is convinced she would have walked if she was that depressed.
She explained: “Sarah hasn’t held back on the fact that she suffers from anxiety and has had depression. I think she’s risen above that and not given up or walked out. I don’t think she’s too vulnerable to be in there. She’s not as fragile as people think. If anything she’s showing how strong she actually is to continue. She’s just a sensitive soul and she will take things to heart easily.”
But Michelle is pleased that Sarah has Chad Johnson – who she has shared a smooch with numerous times while they’ve been in the house – to lean on when times get tough and she even thinks there could be a future for the pair one the outside because the singer doesn’t have any ties to the UK.
She said: “Sarah is on her own, she doesn’t have children, so I see no reason why Sarah wouldn’t love an opportunity to go to Los Angeles or be in America. I think if he was deemed to be right for her, there’s nothing holding her back.

Jonny Mitchell to join Made in Chelsea

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonny Mitchell is reportedly in talks to join ‘Made In Chelsea’.
The ‘Love Island’ hunk has been wining and dining Stephanie Pratt – who has been involved in the series since 2013 – in the weeks since he left the famous villa and now bosses of the reality TV show are keen to have him become part of the cast
A source told The Sun Online: “Stephanie and Jonny have been getting on together like a dream – now MIC bosses are keen to see whether he could be introduced to the programme. Jonny isn’t afraid to stir things up so he would be a great addition to the cast, he is very well to do and is from a good background so is used to high flying and living life to the full. It would be the first time a male ‘Love Island’ cast member has made it onto a show that isn’t ‘TOWIE’, so it could be really exciting for him.”
Jonny shot into the headlines two months ago when he struck up a relationship with Camila Thurlow in the house, but then ditched her to romance new girl Tyla Carr.
Things didn’t work out between him and the brunette beauty and he was kicked out of the villa shortly afterwards and began wooing fellow islander Chyna Ellis on the outside.
However, he came under fire when he dumped her live on television.
Chyna said at the time: “Jonny’s got a nasty streak in him. When I was first with him but when things don’t go his way, Jonny seems to turn really quickly.
“Hours after he’d dumped me on live TV he went off to have a threesome. It’s disgusting behaviour and it shows his true colours.”
Stephanie, on the other hand, hasn’t had much luck in the love department either as she spit from Joey Essex – who she met on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – last year.

Paul Danan to star in new sitcom

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Danan is set to star in a new sitcom.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor was only given the boot from Channel 5 reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ on Friday (18.08.17), but it seems his next job is already in the pipeline as he’s revealed he’s working on a new BBC sitcom based around Channel 4’s 90s hit ‘Desmond’s’.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Paul said: “It’s been a whirlwind. I’ve got a sitcom coming out – it will be a modern-day Desmond’s set in a London barber’s shop.
“I’m really excited as acting is my passion and that’s what I want to be known for. I’ve had loads of messages of support from younger viewers who didn’t know who I was before.”
Paul gave no further details about the planned show, so it is unknown as of the time of writing when the programme is set to air.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old actor recently admitted he was “gutted” to have been evicted from ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, as he hoped he would have finished in a respectable third place.
He added: “I hoped I’d find the real me, and I did.”
And the star – who was known for being one of the first ‘Love Island’ contestants in 2005 and 2006 – even thanked ‘Big Brother’ for his time on the show, as he believes the opportunity has given him a “second chance” at his career.
He said: “Thank you ‘Big Brother’ for having me. You’ve given me a second chance.”
Paul was nicknamed “Dangerous Danan” following his two stints on the original ‘Love Island’, which saw him fall “in love” with Lady Isabella Hervey before being removed from the villa after a drunken row in the first series, while he spent most of his time arguing with model Sophie Anderton after his return to the house in the second series.

Paul Hollywood: Great British Bake Off needs 8 million viewers

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood says ‘Great British Bake Off’ needs at least eight million viewers to be successful.
The 51-year-old celebrity chef has been a judge on the baking competition since its conception with the BBC in 2010, and has said the show needs to rake in the whopping viewing figures when the new series starts next week in order to consider its move to rival broadcaster Channel 4 a success.
Paul – who is the only member of the original line up to continue in his position on the programme despite it’s controversial move – said: “‘Bake Off’s not broken. If we were in a slump, down to something like eight million, then we’d say we need to change something. But we don’t.”
If ‘Great British Bake Off’ – which saw Mary Berry, Sue Perkins, and Mel Giedroyc step down from their roles last year – were to pull in just eight million, it would be a loss of almost half the viewers from the final of 2016’s series, which was watched by a staggering 14.8 million people.
However, according to The Sun newspaper, the figures might seem unlikely, since the last time Channel 4 was able to gain the attention of more than eight million people was during the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
New host Noel Fielding – who will join Paul alongside Prue Leith and Sandy Toksvig – isn’t convinced about the show’s popularity either, as he joked he would be happy if just five people tuned in for its Channel 4 debut.
He quipped to the Radio Times: “I think if we get five people watching we’ll be happy with that.”
Meanwhile, 59-year-old Sandi is keen to keep the format of the show the same despite its move, out of “respect” to the original programme.
She said: “You want to show that everybody has respect for the show. You don’t want to break it, because it’s something precious and it’s precious to so many people. I have to say what we’ve made I’m very proud of it.”
‘Great British Bake Off’ airs on Channel 4 next Tuesday (29.08.17) at 8pm.

Paul Hollywood says there’s no need to change The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood hopes ‘The Great British Bake Off’ is unaffected by the switch to Channel 4.
The 51-year-old TV star has followed the hugely popular programme from the BBC to its new home and Paul has insisted there is no need to change the show’s formula unless its success begins to subside.
Paul – who is the only member of the original presenting team to have made the switch – explained: “‘Bake Off’s not broken. If we were in a slump, down to something like eight million viewers, then we’d say we need to change something. But we don’t.”
Paul still speaks to his former ‘Bake Off’ co-hosts Mary Berry, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc via text.
But he admitted there’s more “banter” with the new team, which includes Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Paul said: “We still text each other. I was winding Sue up recently, so there’s still that ribbing going on.
“To be brutally honest, I didn’t really see a lot of them outside ‘Bake Off’. None of us did. But with this team there’s real banter, a good laugh. And we’re all quite strong characters. It’s just great fun.”
Meanwhile, Sandi revealed she’s also determined to keep the traditions of the programme in tact, despite ‘Bake Off’ making the move to Channel 4.
She said: “You want to show that everybody has respect for the show.
“You don’t want to break it, because it’s something precious and it’s precious to so many people. I have to say what we’ve made I’m very proud of it.”

Bradley Walsh ‘to play a Doctor Who companion’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh is set to portray a new ‘Doctor Who’ companion.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star has reportedly signed up to be new Time Lady Jodie Whittaker’s assistant in the sci-fi series, but his role is expected to see him drop presenting quiz shows ‘Play to the Whistle’ and ‘Cash Trapped’.
A source said: “Bradley is super excited to be joining the cast of ‘Doctor Who’ in such a key role.
“It means that his schedule over the coming months will be jam-packed – so he won’t be able to continue with the full range of programmes he currently makes for ITV.”
However, Bradley will still be able to host popular quiz show ‘The Chase’ and he is said to be “delighted” to have landed the part.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Crucially, it won’t affect his role as presenter of The Chase. He loves that show with a passion and so does the audience, so he’s delighted to have found a way to make it all work.”
It will not be the first time new ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Chris Chibnall has teamed up with Bradley.
The ‘Broadchurch’ creator was the lead writer on ‘Law & Order UK’, in which the actor portrayed DS Ronnie Brooks.
What’s more, Bradley will not be the first male companion on ‘Doctor Who’.
Frazer Hines played Jamie McCrimmon between 1963 and 1989 when the original series of the sci-fi show aired, and Ian Marter portrayed Harry Sullivan, while Matthew Waterhouse starred as Adric.
This comes after Jodie – who also worked with Chris on ‘Broadchurch’ – was appointed as the first ever female lead in ‘Doctor Who’ as a replacement for current Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi.
Kris Marshall was recently rumoured to be in line to play Jodie’s assistant after quitting his role as Humphrey Goodman in crime drama ‘Death in Paradise’.
Pearl Mackie, 30, plays the Doctor’s current assistant Bill Potts, but she is due to leave after just one series, and Matt Lucas currently plays Nardole, a companion of the Twelfth Doctor.
Bradley will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Billie Piper, 34, Jenna Coleman, 31, and Karen Gillan, 29, who have all played the character’s companion in recent years.

Alexandra Burke, Jonnie Peacock and Debbie McGee join Strictly line up

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke, Jonnie Peacock and Debbie McGee are the final three celebrities to be confirmed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The X Factor winner will take on the double paralympic champion and the 58-year-old actress as well as the 12 other confirmed contestants in the latin and ballroom show, which is returning to screens this autumn.
Alexandra said: “I am so excited to be joining this year’s Strictly cast! I love this show and have followed it from the beginning, so being able to be a part of it is just a dream come true for me – I still can’t believe it! I am very nervous as I am a singer not a dancer, but I am going to give this my absolute everything and try my best to make everyone proud.”
Whilst Jonnie added: “The opportunity to be the first contestant with a disability to take part in Strictly’s main show was too good to turn down. I’ve got no previous dance history outside of the occasional ‘worm’ at a mate’s party and I know this will be a challenge and a new experience. I can’t wait to see what I can achieve and how far I can push myself.”
And Debbie – who was married to the late Paul Daniels – has confessed it was the “hardest” secret she has ever had to keep.
She admitted: “There are no words to describe how I feel about performing on Strictly Come Dancing. The excitement is overwhelming. I can’t stop smiling. It’s been the hardest secret I have ever had to keep!”
Alexandra, Jonnie and Debbie will join the previously announced contestants including Chizzy Akudolu, Charlotte Hawkins, Brian Conley, Susan Calman, Aston Merrygold, Simon Rimmer, Joe McFadden, Reverend Richard Coles, Gemma Atkinson, Ruth Langsford, Davood Ghadami and Mollie King.

Ola Jordan’s egg intolerance

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola Jordan is intolerant to eggs.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star used to have the dairy product for breakfast most mornings but has been forced to switch out her favourite snack for porridge or fruit because doctors have just confirmed her stomach can’t handle them very well.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I’ll have porridge with almond milk or, if I’m in a rush, I’ll grab some fruit. I used to have eggs but I’ve just been told I’m intolerant.”
And, although she watches what she eats and tries to work out as much as possible, the 34-year-old beauty has admitted she gains weight very quickly and easily.
She explained: “As I’m a dancer, I need to always be moving. I go to the gym as often as I can, which is usually about five times a week and I’ll stay there for two hours. If I go away for a week and I don’t exercise I can really feel it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t love the gym but I love how it makes me feel afterwards …
“I’m not one of those girls that finds it easy to look the way I look. I have to work for it – I have to get off my bum and go to the gym and I need to watch what I eat.
“There is no magic pill. If I ate everything I wanted and I didn’t go to the gym then I would be much bigger than I am.”
But, although she has to work hard to stay trim, Ola has admitted she loves her breasts because people assume she’s had a boob job as they’re so perky and big.
She added: “My boobs. I’ll tell you why – everyone thinks I have implants and I really 100 per cent do not, on my mother’s life. When I go on holiday and eat a bit more, my boobs look amazing and my friends will text me and say: ‘Oh my God, in the picture you posted your boobs look amazing.’ All I did was eat pizza. When I was in the jungle [for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’] I lost loads of weight and had no boobs so now people assume I had surgery, but I promise I didn’t!”

Will Poulter ’emotionally attached’ to IT remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Poulter was “emotionally attached” to the ‘IT’ remake before Cary Fukunaga’s departure.
The 24-year-old actor was in the frame to play the evil, child murdering clown Pennywise in the remake of Stephen King’s horror novel, but he jumped ship after Fukunaga stepped down as director and he felt the production was going in a “different direction”.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, the actor said: “I was very emotionally attached to the project that Cary was captaining, but when he left I felt that it was going in a different direction.
“It was four weeks away from shooting, and I was two weeks away from going to New York for rehearsals.”
Poulter, instead, joined Kathryn Bigelow’s new movie ‘Detroit’, playing a racist police officer during the real life race riots in the US city during the 1960s.
Following on from his performance in ‘Detroit’, the actor wants his movies to have an “impact” on society in a positive way.
He said: “I want my films to try and impact society in a positive way.
“Escaping the stresses of your micro-environment is a legitimate reason to spend two hours at the movies.
“But it’s not responsible to have the year filled up with firework displays every week on the cinema screen. It’s important to have responsible, socially impactful films.
“And that, really, is my main goal.”
He also believes ‘Detroit’ bears resemblance to Donald Trump’s America, particularly following the white supremacy marches in Charlottesville.
The actor said: “I think we’ve made a point of drawing attention to the relevance that this film bears to Trump’s America.
“Just look at Charlottesville. So long as we have people like Trump in positions of power the systems of white supremacy are never going to be dismantled.”
The role of Pennywise ultimately went to ‘Allegiant’ star Bill Skarsgard, 26, and ‘IT’ is due to be released next month.

Joe Dempsie prefers Jack O’Connell as James Bond rather than Tom Hiddleston

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Dempsie would rather see Jack O’Connell play James Bond than Tom Hiddleston.
The 30-year-old actor – who shot to fame as Chris in E4’s hit show ‘Skins’, which starred O’Connell in a later series – thinks working class actors still have to fight for the chance to star in Hollywood movies and called for casting agents to be more “open-minded” when it comes to looking at British stars.
Speaking to the i newspaper, the actor said: “As a working class actor you still do have to fight to be given a range of roles.
“I think Jack O’Connell is one of the most exciting actors out there. They were looking for a Bond: would Jack get a look in?
“I’d much rather watch him than Tom Hiddleston. There needs to be more open-mindedness.”
Several stars, including Hiddleston, Aidan Turner, Tom Hardy, Damian Lewis and Idris Elba, were rumoured to replace Daniel Craig in the next Bond movie, but Craig recently confirmed he is back for one more.
Although Dempsie is starring as Gendry in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, he feels there is “more to be done” for working class actors and storylines.
He said: “There’s more that can be done. Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne or Tom Hiddleston – they’re all great actors in their own right.
“It’s not their fault. But we seem to have, in the past 10 years, been making a lot of films and TV that seems to be geared towards stories about privilege.
“Some of them are done incredibly well but some of them really aren’t. I still think we can tell far more working class stories.
“I miss the mid-1990s to the early 2000s where a lot of films were about working class people. They didn’t have tiny budgets.
“‘The Full Monty’, one of our biggest success stories, ‘East is East’, ‘Brassed Off’ – I feel like those films have disappeared from the landscape. You can’t just leave it to [directors] Shane Meadows, Mike Leigh and Ken Loach.”

Naomi Watts mentored by David Lynch

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Watts is “mentored” by David Lunch.
The 48-year-old actress shot to fame in the filmmaker’s cult classic ‘Mulholland Drive’, and has now reunited with him on the revival series of ‘Twin Peaks’, and she remains “incredibly proud” of the work they did on her 2001 breakout film.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Watts said: “I’m very proud of that film. It changed my life in so many ways, not just because of my career.
“David Lynch is one of my mentors. He’s a great, great friend. And I’m really proud to be in a film that’s still being discussed and acknowledged, and it doesn’t surprise me.
“People do talk about this film to this day, endlessly, wherever I go.”
Naomi finds it “very impressive” to see how some young stars handle their fame, but she is thankful she only achieved success at a later age because it stopped her making the wrong choices as she wasn’t tempted by the trappings of celebrity.
Asked if she felt any temptations from the “seductive” side of fame, she said: “No, because I came to fame late.
“There are many young people out there that handle it very well, that becomes famous at a young age.
“I’ve worked with some of them lately and it’s very impressive. But success came to me later in life.
“Maybe I would have made wrong choices and ended up in movies I didn’t necessarily love.”
And when it comes to choosing her work, the ‘Gypsy’ star need to “connect” with the project in some way in order to give it her all.
She added: “I feel if I don’t love the material, if I’m not connected to it in a certain way, then I’m not going to give my best.”

Maddie Ziegler inspired by Kate Hudson

OHMYGOSSIP — Maddie Ziegler has hailed Kate Hudson her “biggest inspiration”.
The 14-year-old actress-and-dancer stars with the ‘Almost Famous’ actress in an upcoming mystery project from singer Sia and the teenage star has teased the venture is something completely unexpected.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “You’ll have to see! It’s really fun and like I said, it’s something completely different and something people won’t expect.
“She’s amazing I mean she knows how to do everything, she’s the most incredible actor and she’s probably my biggest inspiration in life – her and Sia, two girl empowerment, they’re amazing.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Dance Moms’ star can next be heard voicing mean ballet dancer ‘Camille’ in ‘Leap!’ and she admitted her character is a true portrayal of the “snobby” ballerinas she’s encountered in real life.
She said: “I feel like there are so many snobby ballerinas in real life and I’ve had to deal with a lot of mean dancers but I guess my character’s just an example of what not to be in the dance scene.”
And Maddie – who appears in the film alongside Elle Fanning and Carly Rae Jepsen – urged any of her young fans encountering similar mean people to just “block” their comments out.
She advised: “Just block ’em out. I just act like they don’t matter at all and you know what? Their opinion means one thing but maybe it’s just [to] them and not to anyone else you know? I can’t let one person get in my way.”
Little is known about Sia’s project with Maddie and Kate, but the older actress has shaved her head for the role.
Kate also shared a photo of herself on set with Leslie Odom Jr., prompting speculation the ‘Hamilton’ star is also involved in some way.

Samuel L. Jackson signs up for Son of Shaft

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson and Jessie T. Usher look set to star in ‘Son of Shaft’.
The 68-year-old actor and the ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ star will team up for the forthcoming film, which will start shooting this autumn, Usher has confirmed.
Posting a picture of himself and Jackson, he wrote on his Facebook page: “Can you see the resemblance?! lol #SonOfShaft #NewLineCinema kicking off this fall !! Thanking God for another HUGE blessing (sic)”
Usher is set to portray the titular role in the film and Jackson will reprise his role of John Shaft II, who he played in 2000 action thriller ‘Shaft’.
Richard Roundtree is also expected to appear as John Shaft I, who he played in the same movie and for the first time in the 1971 original and subsequent sequels ‘Shaft’s Big Score’ and ‘Shaft in Africa’ in 1972 and 1973.
According to Deadline, New Line are in talks with Roundtree about getting him back for yet another movie about the private detective.
Jackson’s character is Shaft’s nephew, and Usher’s alter-ego, John Shaft III, is his son.
In the forthcoming film, Shaft III is set to be a cyber expert who teams up with his estranged father in an attempt to try to solve a case.
Director Tim Story signed up for the project in January.
Usher is best known for playing pilot Dylan Dubrow-Hiller sci-fi movie ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ and prior to the motion picture’s release last year he teased it will be “larger than you can imagine”.
He said: “Roland [Emmerich, director] and his digital team, what they wanted people to take from this movie is how much larger than life this alien species is.
“So we can’t even stress how big the film will be. We can’t tell you how big the fight will be, it’s just larger than you can imagine. Whatever you think, you’re not ready for what’s to come.”

Wonder Woman passes $800m mark

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Wonder Woman’ has already made more than $800 million at the worldwide box office.
The Patty Jenkins-directed superhero movie, which stars actress Gal Gadot in the lead role, has achieved incredible success since it was released in May, helping to make it one of the highest-grossing movies of 2017.
The film has not yet opened in the potentially lucrative Japanese market, but it has just become the first female-directed live-action movie to earn more than $400 million and $800 million at the US and worldwide box offices respectively.
A ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel has already been given the green light, but it remains to be seen whether Jenkins will return to the franchise.
The filmmaker has been locked in negotiations with Warner Bros. for weeks and she could become the highest-paid female director around.
But Jenkins previously admitted it was not a “foregone conclusion” she would direct ‘Wonder Woman 2’.
She said: “I had an epiphany about ‘Wonder Woman 2’. I was like, you don’t have to do this. It doesn’t have to be a foregone conclusion that you do ‘Wonder Woman 2’.
“But then as I was falling asleep I had an epiphany. I was like, ‘Wait a minute. You have the greatest character of all time that you love dearly, with a cast that you love sitting at the palm of your hand at this day and age – you can do whatever you want with them – are you crazy?’
“It’s a continuation of the same character, but there’s a great, entirely different story to be told.
“With this character in our … in the world, that’s fun, because now she exists, just funny, and also says something profound about the world we’re in right now.”

Ruth Langsford is having nightmares about Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford revealed she is having nightmares ahead of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 57-year-old ‘This Morning’ presenter is set to go head-to-head with a number of celebrities in the new series of the BBC One ballroom and latin show but despite being excited she also said she is suffering from “anxiety dreams.”
Speaking on the brunchtime show on Monday (21.08.17), Ruth said: “I have been having anxiety dreams. I have been very, very excited haven’t it?
“Excited, excited, excited, and then yesterday morning I just had a moment, I woke up really early and all I thought was ‘I am not ready, I should have lost weight, I should have been having dancing lessons, I can’t do this’.”
On the same day, ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Charlotte Hawkins was also revealed to be taking part in the show and Rylan Clark-Neal joked that Ruth would be “given” to ‘Loose Women’ “full-time” if she lost to Charlotte.
He said: “This is now ‘This Morning’ vs. ‘Good Morning Britain’.
“If you let us down we are going to give you to ‘Loose Women’ full time, your job is on the line.”
Although she’s looking forward to learning the choreography, she’s nervous about who she’ll be paired with and whether the professional will be able to pick her up.
Speaking on the brunch time programme previously, Ruth said: “The reveal show is the first time [she will meet her professional partner], I thought ‘oh come on, I bet they tell you’, but the reveal show is the first time. I do worry about who will have to lift me up. It is hard work, you have to put the work in.”
And that’s not the only concern the TV star has as she’s not sure she’ll be able to remember the routines as well as her fellow competitors because they’re so fast.
She added: “That’s my worry, remembering, because some of it is so fast.”

Chizzy Akudolu confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Chizzy Akudolu has been confirmed for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Holby City’ star – who is known for portraying surgeon Mo Effanga in the medical drama – has become the 12th contestant to join the line up for the forthcoming series of the ballroom and latin show and she can’t wait to wear the sequinned frocks.
She said: “When I was 13, I made the finals of a disco dancing competition once but there was this amazing girl who exploded onto the stage with a gorgeous sequined costume, throwing glitter everywhere… I knew it was game over for me. That was then, this is now and this is my chance to have even more sequins!”
But, although she has some degree of dancing experience, the 43-year-old actress will have to fight off some stiff competition if she’s to lift the famous glitterball trophy.
The brunette beauty will go up against the likes of Charlotte Hawkins, Brian Conley, Susan Calman, Aston Merrygold, Simon Rimmer, Joe McFadden, Reverend Richard Coles, Gemma Atkinson, Ruth Langsford, Davood Ghadami and Mollie King, who have also been confirmed for the new series. More contestants will be announced today.
Although some stars are yet to be confirmed and announced, one thing’s for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.
The forthcoming series will see legendary choreographer Shirley Ballas claim Len Goodman’s Head Judge seat following his shock departure at the end of last year and, although the fellow panelists – Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli – are excited to have her on board, they’re convinced she’ll stand her ground.
