Lacey Turner is married

OHMYGOSSIP — Lacey Turner has got married.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is known for portraying Stacey Fowler in the soap – tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart Matt Kay in front of 120 guests – including some of her cast mates – on September 2 in a secret hideaway in the north of Ibiza, Spain.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the 29-year-old actress said: “I always knew I didn’t want to get married in the UK. I never wanted a winter wedding as I don’t love the cold, and I always thought I’d wear no shoes and you can’t really do that in England! I love it here…
“… We were set on getting married on a beach and we’d been to about four places. Then we decided to come and have a look at this villa. I took my shoes off, walked around and thought, perfect – I don’t have to wear my shoes here!”
The brunette beauty invited her co-stars James Bye, Jake Wood, Aaron Sidwell, Laurie Brett, Scott Maslen and former ‘EastEnders’ star Dame Barbara Windsor to the wedding because they’ve grown up on-screen together.
She explained: “It was so much fun. Scott and his wife Estelle are such fun people and they’re such lovers of the island anyway – they had a great time.
“It was lovely to see Jake with his wife Alison and their kids, and James and his wife Victoria, and Aaron and his girlfriend Tricia, as well as Laurie, who came with her mum.
“They’ve watched us grow together, so it was nice they couple all make it. I was so glad Barbara could make it too.”
The pair first got together when they were 15 years old and they both feel incredibly “lucky” to have met their soul mates at such a young age.
Lacey said: “I just feel really lucky. It’s really rare to spend this many years with someone and to still feel the same as it did in the beginning. We don’t know any different, I guess, but I know we definitely feel lucky.”

Only Fools and Horses episode to air for first time

OHMYGOSSIP — A lost episode of ‘Only Fools and Horses’ will air on TV for the first time this year.
The 1984 episode, ‘Licensed to Drill’, will be seen on current documentary series ‘The Story of Only Fools and Horses’ – which airs on GOLD on Tuesdays until October 3 – and features the final appearance of Grandad, played by Lennard Pearce.
In the 19-minute ep, Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter (Sir David Jason) has his eyes on a new get-rich-quick scheme after buying an oil rig for £400, but, as usual for the Trotters, things don’t all go to plan.
‘Licensed to Drill’ was originally made in 1984 as a special educational episode to teach kids at British schools about the oil industry.
It sees market trader Del tell his hapless brother Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and Grandad: “We just lay low in our boat for a while and we wait for one of the big oil companies to move off the oil field and then we whip in a bit lively and use their hole.”
Last Friday (08.09.17) marked 36 years to the day since ‘Only Fools and Horses’ first aired, on September 8, 1981.
The show has gone down in British TV history after spanning seven series, 64 episodes and 16 specials, and still holds the record for the largest audience for a British sitcom after 24.3 million tuned in to ‘Time on Our Hands’, the final episode of the 1996 Christmas trilogy.
Earlier this year, David admitted he would’ve loved to have done more ‘Only Fools’, but it is simply not possible following the death of writer John Sullivan, who passed away in April 2011 aged 64.
He said: “It would be good to do ‘Only Fools and Horses’ but we haven’t got a writer, if we had the wonderful writer, the lovely John Sullivan, we would I tell you, but we haven’t got a writer and my partner Nick has gone on to do other things, so you’re stuck with ‘Open All Hours’ now!”

Strictly Come Dancing to introduce same-sex couples next year?

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood thinks ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will introduce same-sex couples next year.
The show judge – who has sat on the panel since the very beginning in 2004 – really hopes that the BBC decide to introduce a new format in the foreseeable future and is convinced that 2018 is the year that viewers will see men paired with other men and women dance with other women.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (11.09.17), he said: “I think same-sex couples can exist, you only have to decide who’s going to go backwards really, don’t you. That’s the only difference.
“I hope so, I really hope so. In the world of competition there are same-sex couples that do it as well so there is no reason why that can’t happen. It’s just I guess the Beeb have to decide whether they want to do that one year and I think it’ll probably happen next year.
“When you consider the tango was originally danced between two men anyway. It’s amazing – seeing Argentine Tango between two men is powerful and explosive and the same can happen between two women. There’s nothing wrong, I mean you can get married now can’t you? It’s great to celebrate anyone’s sexuality. And as you say it’s not just about sex it’s about dancing.”
However, although the BBC have confirmed they haven’t “completely ruled out” introducing same-sex dance partnerships, they’re adamant they won’t be doing so in the near future.
A spokesperson said: “‘Strictly’ has chosen the traditional format of mixed-sex couples and at the moment we have no plans to introduce same-sex couples in the competition.

Shirley Ballas forgives Kristina Rihanoff

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas has forgiven Kristina Rihanoff for falling in love with her husband.
Strictly Come Dancing’s new head judge – who has replaced Len Goodman on the panel – insists there are no hard feelings between her and the professional dancer after she struck up a five-year romance with her spouse Corky Ballas in 2003.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper on Sunday, Shirley said: “I’ve had lunch with Kristina. I’m a people person. I love people.”
The 56-year-old adjudicator was married to Corky, with whom she has son Mark Ballas, for almost 20 years when he met Kristina and became her dance teacher.
They then embarked on a romance and Shirley filed for divorce from Corky in 2007.
Despite being love rivals once upon a time, Shirley is adamant she’d have “no issues” if Kristina rejoined the ballroom and latin show as a professional in the future.
Speaking of Kristina returning to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, she explained: “It would be absolutely fine. I have no issues with anybody being on the show at all.”
Kristina, 39, was hired as a professional dancer – a role she held for eight years – on the long-running show in 2008 and, during her time on the programme, has had a number of public relationships with fellow dancers and competitors.
She once romanced Vincent Simone – who quit the series in 2012 – before embarking on a relationship with boxer Joe Calzaghe years later after she mentored him.
She was then partnered up with rugby hunk Ben Cohen on the show in 2013 and he split from his childhood sweetheart Abby shortly after the series ended.
A year later, the pair announced they were dating and they now daughter Milena, 15 months, together.

Gemma Atkinson bonds with Gorka Marquez

OHMYGOSSIP — Strictly Come Dancing’s Gemma Atkinson has developed a soft spot for Gorka Marquez.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress and the professional dancer have set tongues wagging after they were spotted getting up close and personal during the group rehearsal last week.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There is definitely something developing — everyone can see there’s an obvious attraction.
“They couldn’t keep away from each other at group rehearsals. Gorka even invited Gemma to his birthday meal and they sat together the whole night.”
However, the pair won’t get to spend that much time together as Gorka is partnered with Alexandra Burke for the show and Gemma is teamed up with Aljaz Skorjanec.
And the 32-year-old star’s undeniable bond with Gorka, 27, will no doubt come as a surprise to fans as she previously insisted she isn’t looking for love on the show.
When asked whether she was looking for love on the show, she said: “No, gosh! I’m just hoping not to fall at the end of the dance! That’s all on my mind at the minute.”
And she admitted the dances aren’t as romantic as they looks on screen, and she was “mortified” when she was forced to get up close and personal with Aljaz.
She said: “Being forced to be face-to-face with someone you’ve just met is mortifying. It sounds all lovely. But it’s like doing a scene with one of your mates at ‘Emmerdale’. On camera it looks good, but when you’re in it and doing it, it’s awkward.”
Gemma also revealed she went on an intense training course to prepare her body for the skimpy dance outfits, which she says are heavier than they look.
She said: “They don’t look it, but when you put them on they are surprisingly heavy with the sequins. It’s extra weight to carry around but it’s fine.
“And yeah, I’ll be self-conscious about showing off my body. But we’ve tried two on and they’re beautiful. I had assumed the costumes were re-used every year. However, everything is fitted and made to measure so that all of us, no matter our shape, size or height, look really good in them. It’s just difficult going to the toilet because we’re all sewn in, so we’ll have to not drink as much.”

Kem Cetinay is lined up for Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay is reportedly being lined up for ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Love Island’ winner has been approached for the forthcoming series of the skating show, which will return to screens in January following its axe in 2014, after he won over the nation with his down-to-earth personality on the dating series earlier this summer.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kem impressed ITV bosses in ‘Love Island’ and they wanted one of the contestants for ‘DOI’ too. They think he could physically keep up with the training and has the personality to be a fan favourite.”
But the 21-year-old hunk will have to fight off stiff competition from the likes of ‘Bake Off’ winner Candice Brown, Ray J and model Alex Gerrard as they’re also being eyed up.
Details of the reboot are being kept relatively under wraps for the time being but Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – who fronted the original show together from 2006 until 2011 – have been confirmed as the hosts, while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who coached the competitors on the original – will be head judges this time around.
The legendary skaters will be joined by Jason Gardiner – who was known as “Mr Nasty” for his acid tongue remarks – on the judging panel, but one person will be noticeably missing from the show as Chris’ partner Karen Barber hasn’t been approached yet.
A source close to Karen – who used to coach and judge – said: “Understandably Karen is disappointed to have not received a contract yet – she loves ‘Dancing On Ice’ and is incredibly excited to see it returning to TV and of course she’d love to be part of it. It’s a bit of a kick in the teeth for Karen to see Jason Gardiner invited back and not her.”

John Motson offered bingo caller job

OHMYGOSSIP — John Motson has been offered a job as a bingo caller.
The 72-year-old football commentator announced last week he will quit the BBC at the end of the soccer season in May 2018, and Mecca Bingo are keen for the speaking legend to use his “perfect commentary pitch” to help their bingo callers.
A Mecca spokesman said: “Mecca Bingo is offering him a role as an advisory bingo caller.”
The UK-based company – which has 86 bingo clubs – is hoping Motson will be able to use his “wealth of speaking techniques” to assist their staff members.
The spokesman added to the Daily Star newspaper: “It is hoped he will pass on his wealth of speaking techniques to Mecca’s bingo callers across the UK.”
Motson has worked for the BBC for 50 years – during which time he has covered 10 World Cups, 29 FA Cup finals, 10 European Championships and more than 200 England games – and he admitted last week he has been “very lucky” throughout his career.
He said: “I’ve absolutely loved my time commentating for BBC Sport.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to witness some of the biggest moments in football history mere yards away from the action, so I’ve really been very lucky.”
However, the star – who is affectionately known as “Motty” in the football community and known for wearing a sheepskin coat – insisted he isn’t retiring from sports commentating entirely.
He added: “I’m hoping to keep my association with football and with broadcasting – I’m not retiring from everything, I’m retiring from the BBC.”

Eamonn Holmes says Ruth Langsford won’t win Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes doesn’t think his wife Ruth Langsford can win ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 57-year-old TV host has made her husband proud by simply agreeing to star on the popular BBC show, but Eamonn doesn’t think Ruth has what it takes to win the coveted glitterball trophy.
Speaking to BBC Radio Ulster, Eamonn said: “She’s not going to win it, absolutely not, so save your money, folks.
“But you know what, it’s a great thing that programme means so much to people.”
This comes shortly after Eamonn said he will be living off baked beans and takeaways “every night” while Ruth is on the programme.
The ‘This Morning’ co-host joked that he’ll be a ‘Strictly’ “widower” as he has no skills in the kitchen, meaning he’ll need to survive on basic meals to see him through Ruth’s time on the show.
He said: “She’s a domestic goddess and runs the whole house.
“She does everything and when she is not there, well it’s going to be be baked beans every night. It will probably be takeaways and they will go out into the bin before she gets home.”
Eamonn also revealed he will be helping Ruth out in every way possible, including running her baths and applying after tan lotion.
The veteran broadcaster said: “I am very good at running her a bath. You know like Rocky, with the trainer with the towel around his neck?
“Everything is on a back burner for me now. She did call me at 5am to the bathroom to apply lotion on her back.
“I think it was the moisturiser after the fake tan. I just go along with it. I am just a ‘Strictly’ widower.”

Liz Dawn determined to get better

OHMYGOSSIP — Liz Dawn is “determined to get better” to see her new great-grandson.
The ‘Coronation Street’ legend – who quit her role as Vera Duckworth due to ill health in 2008 after 34 years on screen – suffers from lung condition emphysema and was rushed to a Manchester hospital recently suffering from chest pains and fluid on her lungs, and though she’s had a “traumatic and difficult” few days, she has vowed to pull through because she wants to meet her grandson Luke Ibbotson and his wife Nicola’s new baby boy, who was born last week.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Liz has had a very traumatic and difficult few days but she is determined to get better to see the new baby.”
Doctors agreed at the weekend that Liz’s condition had improved enough for her to be moved to a special ward to receive oxygen treatment, and she has her friends and family keeping a vigil at all times.
The insider added: “She is a fighter. All her family and friends are rallying round and she is getting excellent care.
“We recognise a definite improvement in Liz’s condition and her spirits are high.”
The 77-year-old actress has been housebound for several weeks and been using a wheelchair, and in June, she missed the wedding of her grandson, Thomas Borso, to Alice Coughlin in Italy after having surgery related to a heart condition.
She said at the time: “I’ve got no energy but once the operation is done I will be looking forward to being as back to my normal self and getting my energy back.”
In 2013 she had a pacemaker fitted after suffering a heart attack while on holiday in Spain.
She admitted shortly afterwards: “My health is very bad these days.”
Liz first appeared on ‘Corrie’ in 1974 and her partnership with Bill Tarmey, who played Jack Duckworth was a huge hit with fans for years.
Although her character was killed off in 2000, dying peacefully in her sleep, she made a brief reappearance as a vision to Jack as he passed away in a moving scene which saw them share one last dance.
Bill died in 2012.

Margot Robbie got carried away with role

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie “forgot” she wasn’t Tonya Harding and punched her co-star in the head.
The 27-year-old actress threw herself into the role of the disgraced figure skater in ‘I, Tonya’ and immersed herself so deeply into the part, she got carried away shooting a scene with Sebastian Stan, who played her on-screen lover Jeff Gilooly.
Margot was asked to name her favourite moment during shooting and she explained it was a fight scene that got so intense, director Craig Gillespie ultimately cut it from the finished film.
Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF), she said: “Craig kind of on the day was like, ‘Just do whatever in the moment,’ and we got so carried away that I genuinely forgot that we were on a film set and that I wasn’t Tonya and that he wasn’t Jeff.
“We got into, like a brawl. He slams my hand into the door. And I ended up storming off down the street, which was, like, the end of set, so I was just on the road in the real world.
“And [Stan was] coming after me, screaming, ‘Where are you going?’ I think you even said, ‘Margot,’ and I said, ‘I’m going to the hospital because you broke my hand!’ And I was so caught up in it and I think I punched you in the side of the head!
“That ended up being my favorite scene because I forgot that I was acting, and nothing makes more exhilarated when I genuinely forget where I am.”
Margot had little on-ice experience before she started work on the biopic, and she wishes she’d had more opportunities to skate when she was younger.
She told The Toronto Sun: “It was so much fun.
“But, yes, I was kicking myself that we didn’t have ice skating rinks on the Gold Coast. Everyone in Canada is like an amazing skater just by being born here so I felt like I had a lot further to go. I did a lot of training. I did a lot of research.”

Dave Bautista wrote Pierce Brosnan a ‘love letter’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista once wrote Pierce Brosnan a “love letter”.
The 48-year-old actor has admitted he was always a “huge fan” of the former James Bond actor, and he even penned him a heartfelt note declaring his admiration for him, although he desperately tried to refrain from gushing about the movie icon for a while.
The wrestler-turned actor explained: “I sent an email to Pierce Brosnan after I worked with him on a film in London [‘Final Score’].
“I’m a huge fan, but I thought it might be weird to tell him that before we started shooting. So I wrote him a little love letter afterwards.”
And Bautista has revealed he is also a big supporter of Ryan Gosling, but “didn’t realise” how fond he was of the ‘The Notebook’ star until they filmed ‘Blade Runner 2049’ together, which sees the 36-year-old hunk portray Officer K.
Bautista admitted his reaction even surprised himself.
Speaking to Empire magazine about the Canadian heartthrob, he said: “It was one of those things where you don’t realise quite how big a fan you are until you meet them.”
And the semi-retired professional wrestler admitted he couldn’t stop “hugging” the ‘Drive’ actor during their first encounter.
He confessed: “I couldn’t stop hugging him.”

George Clooney enjoyed torturing Matt Damon

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney had “fun” torturing Matt Damon in ‘Suburbicon’.
The 56-year-old star directed his old friend in the 50s race relations satire – which he co-wrote with Grant Heslov and the Coen Brothers – and relished being able to put his pal into tricky situations during the shoot.
He laughed to the Toronto Sun newspaper: “It was fun to put Matt Damon on a little tiny tricycle.”
George admitted he and his writing partner, Grant, were angry when working on the Coens script but felt it was a very important subject to tackle.
He said: “I thought it was important to have these discussions about scapegoating minorities.
“Particularly when we were writing, it was about scapegoating Muslims and scapegoating Mexicans, and saying that these are people who are somehow taking away part of our rightful society, when, of course, immigrants have been the greatest addition to American society.”
And while George admitted the recent racial tension in Charlottesville, Virginia, was disheartening he didn’t feel it was anything new as there is something “always simmering” and called for “missing voices” to be heard.
He said: “It’s always simmering. It’s always down there. There’s a tension that’s still present. It’s frustrating when you see the leader of our country comparing two groups of people [Black Lives Matter, and the KKK] that have no business being compared. That’s a missing voice right now. We’ll get it back. That’s what we do.”
George has previously praised Matt as the “greatest actor” he’s ever known.
He said recently: “Matt’s the greatest actor I’ve ever worked with. In fact, I don’t know a better actor I’ve seen in my life. I’m trying to think if there’s a better actor. Nope, there’s not a better actor. No, there is not.”

Kate Winslet found The Mountain Between Us to be ‘scary’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet found filming ‘The Mountain Between Us’ “really f***ing scary”.
The Oscar-winning actress stars with Idris Elba in the thriller as survivors of a plane crash left stranded on a remote, snowy mountain, and though she enjoyed the challenge of being largely isolated while shooting in temperatures of -38 deg C in the Canadian Rockies, it was the toughest thing she’d ever done.
She said: “Normally on a film, there’s a group of people who keep their eyes on the actors and make sure they have everything they need, but this was very much a case of every man for themselves, which was good.
“I’m like that anyway. If I’m going up a mountain, I want to make sure I’ve got a head torch and enough hot packs and food for the day, so I’d pack my rucksack of goodies to make sure I had what I needed – and a few extra teabags to boot – if bad weather set in and we were stuck up there.
“That sad, it was really f***ing scary. It was very remote up there.”
However, the 41-year-old actress – who took her own daily supply of essentials, including M&Ms, coffee sachets, flasks of chicken broth and battery-heated gloves, to set every day – was thankful to have safety experts on hand to guide her and her co-star.
She told Glamour magazine: “We had an amazing group of mountain-safety people who’d been scouting the area for six months at high altitude. They knew exactly what was going on underneath the drifts of snow, where to walk and where not to walk.”
One of the toughest scenes in the film was when Kate’s character plunged through ice on a lake and had to be rescued by Idris, and though the actress opted to shoot the scene without a stunt double, she was more worried about her hair than falling ill from the freezing conditions.
She admitted: “The most difficult part was being dragged soaking wet through the cold snow, but my biggest fear was not actually getting pneumonia, it was Idris treading on my hair. I didn’t want to ruin a take by going, ‘Argh, he’s stepping on my hair!’
“And however hard it looks for me, it was harder for Idris to anchor his feet on the ice; it was freezing cold, he was also soaking wet, and I weigh a ton because all those clothes I’m wearing are soaked through.”

Lorna Fitzgerald and Jacqueline Jossa to leave EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ sisters Abi and Lauren Branning are leaving the show.
The on-screen siblings, who are played by Lorna Fitzgerald, 21, and Jacqueline Jossa, 24, respectively will depart Walford later this year as part of a shake-up by soap boss John Yorke, and it’s expected they will receive explosive exits as part of the show’s festive plots.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “He has form for creating huge plots, so they’re in safe hands over their departure.
“It will be one of the biggest on-screen moments of the year.
“Sometimes a great storyline comes at the cost of losing some characters. The cast will be sorry to see them go.”
Jacqueline joined the show in 2010 and left in 2015 to have daughter Ella, now two, with husband Dan Osborne, but returned last year, while Lorna is leaving after 11 years on screen.
A spokesperson confirmed: “We can confirm Jacqueline and Lorna will be leaving.
“They have been wonderful to work with and we wish them all the best for the future.”
While details of their exits are currently under wraps, current storylines show pub cook Abi pregnant with Steven Beale’s baby – even though he is Lauren’s fiance.
And there is further turmoil in store for the sisters as Steven was killed following a bungled arson in scenes which aired on Friday (08.09.17).
Previews for this week show Lauren slapping Abi after a row over her returning to the bottle, prompting speculation her sibling will hit back and uncover their secret affair.

Liz Dawn seriously ill

OHMYGOSSIP — Liz Dawn is reportedly fighting for her life in hospital.
The ‘Coronation Street’ legend – who quit her role as Vera Duckworth due to ill health in 2008 after 34 years on screen – suffers from lung condition emphysema and was rushed to a Manchester medical facility on Thursday (07.09.17) suffering from chest pains and fluid on her lungs.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “She’s been in and out of hospital quite a few times in the last few years and normally the family are quite upbeat, but this time they seem more concerned.
“She’s not in a good way and her loved ones are obviously very worried.”
The 77-year-old actress has been housebound for several weeks and been using a wheelchair, and in June, she missed the wedding of her grandson, Thomas Borso, to Alice Coughlin in Italy after having surgery related to a heart condition.

Richard Coles had ‘discussion’ about male Strictly partner

OHMYGOSSIP — Rev. Richard Coles “had a discussion” about same-sex dance partners on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The openly gay Church of England vicar and former Communards member has been partnered with Diana Buswell on the new series of the competition, but would have been open to dancing with a guy.
He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “We’ve had a discussion about it actually, and I don’t know. I mean, it’s in no sense that anyone resists the idea in principle, it’s just a question of doing it.”
And Richard thinks the time was right to bring in same-sex dance couples, especially with 2017 being the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality.
He said: “I think it’s a good year to do it actually, with the 50th anniversary of the Sexual Offences Decriminalisation Act.”
The BBC confirmed they haven’t “completely ruled out” introducing same-sex dance partnerships but won’t be doing so in the near future.
A spokesperson said: “‘Strictly’ has chosen the traditional format of mixed-sex couples and at the moment we have no plans to introduce same-sex couples in the competition.
“‘Strictly’ has chosen the traditional format of mixed-sex couples and at the moment we have no plans to introduce same-sex couples in the competition.”
Meanwhile, lesbian comic Susan Calman has been left unimpressed by the criticism she has received for dancing on the show and not asking for a female partner.
The ‘I’m Sorry I haven’t a Clue’ panellist – who will be dancing with Kevin Clifton – said: “No one can say I haven’t stood up for my community. I think politically, there’s nothing more powerful than having an openly gay woman on the biggest show on television, whose wife’s on the front row, doing what she wants to do.
“No one is holding me hostage in this room, making me wear a dress and dance with a man. I want to learn how to dance…
“I have protested, I have picketed, I have fought, I have been spat on, I have been punched – and I want to dance.”
And Susan thinks the criticism she’s received is particularly unfair because gay male contestants haven’t been subjected to similar barbs.
She said: “There will be a time for same-sex dancing. I think what annoyed me slightly is that I seem to be getting it in the neck.
“Will Young didn’t get it, Judge Rinder didn’t get it, Richard Coles isn’t getting it. It seems to me as a woman, he’s not getting it the same way I am. And for me to be getting it is, I think, unfair. I seem to be getting the brunt of the LGBT community.”
