Alexandra Burke to make late mum ‘proud’ on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke is doing ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to make her late mother “proud”.
The 29-year-old singer tragically lost her mother Melissa Bell – who was formerly the lead singer of the Grammy-winning R&B group Soul II Soul – at the end of August when she passed away aged 53.
And although the ‘Broken Heels’ hitmaker is heartbroken, she has said the loss has pushed her to succeed on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition, as it was always her mother’s “dream” for her to take part.
Speaking to The Radio Times, Alexandra said: “My being on the show was a dream of hers, as well as mine, so doing the best I can on Strictly means a lot to me. My mum was my biggest critic. And she has turned me into a perfectionist; everything I do is for her. So when I step on to that dance floor on Saturday night I want to do the best I can and make her proud.”
Alexandra has been paired with professional dancer Gorka Marquez, and will take to the dance floor for the first time when the show returns from its two week break on Saturday (23.09.17).
It’s not the first time the ‘Hallelujah’ singer has insisted she won’t be pulling out of the show either, as she released a statement shortly after her mother’s death in which she stated her performances on ‘Strictly’ will go ahead as planned.
She said at the time: “Mummy has always been my biggest supporter and was over the moon when I told her I was doing Strictly. It was always a dream of hers that I would one day be part of the show and I know that she would have wanted me to carry on xx (sic)”
Alexandra confirmed the devastating news last month with a statement on her Instagram page.
It read: “It is with the heaviest and saddest of hearts that the family inform you our beautiful, funny and loving mum, Melissa Bell has passed away.
“Our beautiful mother gained her wings on Monday 28th August 2017, a day that has changed our lives forever. We will never forget her unconditional love, support, charisma, strength and courage throughout her life.
“We are eternally proud and thankful to call her our mummy. We would be grateful if you could respect our privacy at this difficult time. Thank you. The Burke Family. (sic)”

Brendan Cole to become father for the second time

OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan Cole is to become a father for the second time.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star took to social media on Monday (18.09.17) to announce he and his wife Zoe are expecting their second child, a younger brother or sister for their four-year-old daughter Aurelia.
Taking to his Instagram page, Brendan posted a video of his wife holding her burgeoning baby bump and captioned it: “Hey all…@thezoecole and I have news…”
Zoe shared a snap from their holiday on her own social media accounts and wrote: “Yes it’s true! Came back from Mallorca recently with a little excess baggage! @brendancoleinsta #whathavewedone #babyonboard #excitedandscared #parents #ourfamily #morejunkinthetrunk (sic)”
Since the news broke, Twitter has been flooded with messages of support for the happy couple.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who appeared on the BBC One latin and ballroom show and was partnered with Brendan, wrote: “Woo! Congratulations guys! Happy happy news.”
Whilst Judy Murray – who also appeared on the show – added: “Ah Zoe. What gorgeous news. Lots of love to the 3+1 of you. Xxx (sic)”

Lauren Goodger lost ‘identity’ dating jailbird boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger lost her “identity” when she was dating her jailbird boyfriend.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star recently split from Joey Morrison – who she was in a relationship with for 18 months – after his sentence was extended following an “incident” behind bars and feels like she’s finally back to her old self now they’re over.
She said: “You lose your identity because you’re not on your own and you’re in a two. You’re not as strong anymore. Especially when you’re with someone inside.”
The 30-year-old beauty was hoping her and Joey would be reunited this year but was forced to reconsider their relationship when she found out she’d have to wait longer.
She explained: “It wasn’t a sudden decision, it was months and months of it getting harder. Joey was meant to come out in November last year and if he had done, things would have been very different. But he suffered a knock back inside and was moved to a high security prison. His sentence was extended and I was told he could be inside for another year. That was hard because I’d been with him for a while but he’d had day release so we could walk around the grounds and sit on a bench together.
“When he was moved to high security, his day release was cut and our visits became more formal. It was really sad and we would row because of the pressure of the environment. It changed the whole relationship for me.”
And Lauren noticed a change in Joey – who was convicted for a string of offences, including possession of a firearm, kidnapping, blackmail and actual bodily harm – too.
She added to new! magazine: “I think he tried to harden up a bit and push me to make the decision that we would just see how things worked out when he was on the outside. He knew me waiting for him was unfair. He tried to give me tough love.”

Bill Skarsgard reveals disturbing scene cut from IT

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Skarsgard admitted a “disturbing” origin story to Pennywise was cut from ‘IT’.
The 27-year-old actor stars as the terrifying, child murdering clown in Andres Muschietti’s reimagining of Stephen King’s 1986 horror novel but Skarsgard revealed a scene was cut that was “very disturbing”.
Speaking on Variety’s Playback podcast, the actor said: “There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise was Pennywise. The scene turned out really, really disturbing. And I’m not the clown. I look more like myself. It’s very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for the IT is, or where Pennywise came from. That might be something worth exploring in the second one. The idea is the IT entity was dormant for thousands and thousands of years. The flashback scene hints on that.”
Skarsgard’s portrayal of the evil clown has been hailed by fans and critics alike and the new movie has already become the highest grossing R-rated film of all time.
Muschietti recently said the actor’s willingness to take risks helped to make his job much easier.
Recalling his on-set experiences with Skarsgard, the filmmaker shared: “Each scene where Pennywise intervenes Bill provided a new flavour to each take because he was part of the concept of making this monster unpredictable.
“So … and Bill doesn’t shy away from the exploration of that he is so brave in that sense. And it was fun for him to surprise me and surprise himself and surprise everyone with new stuff. And it was, we even discussed with him before shooting we said, ‘Let’s go crazy.’
“Because there is something in the core of this monster that we want to capture It’s ability, so we do different things and different behaviours and different takes that might amount to something very unique when we put the scene together.”

Sebastian Stan didn’t read a script for Avengers: Infinity War

OHMYGOSSIP — Sebastian Stan didn’t read the script for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
The 35-year-old actor starred as Bucky Barnes in all three of the ‘Captain America’ movies but his character joined the evil team HYDRA and was known as the Winter Solider in the last two movies and has reprised his role in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movie.
However, the actor admitted he was “in the dark” about what was happening because he wasn’t allowed to read the script.
Speaking to Collider, the actor said: “I didn’t read a script for the last movie, so I was kind of in the dark. Which is always okay for the Winter Soldier. I think there’s just an element of trust, it’s a family system and at this point, I feel like between the writers and the [Joe and Anthony] Russo, everyone kind of guesses their next move so to speak and I feel like they know very well what I’m going to be bringing.”
Stan also recently revealed that, much like his co-star Tom Holland who plays Spider-Man, he is only allowed to read the script for his character.
Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival, Stan said: “I only read what they gave me on the day. It’s usually only a day-to-day thing. I certainly don’t know what I have to do next.”
Stan also said he has no idea whether he will be replacing Chris Evans in the role of Captain America in the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the comics Bucky takes on the identity of Captain America after Steve Rogers is presumed to be dead and in the MCU Evans – who has portrayed the hero in six movies – recently revealed after Phase 4, he will no longer play the part.
He said: “It’s just speculation. I honestly have no idea.
“I really don’t know what I would say to somebody that would ask me that question.”

Chris Hemsworth: My brother Liam was almost Thor

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth nearly lost out of the role of Thor to his younger brother Liam.
The 34-year-old actor has starred as Norse God in four movies so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, and will reprise his most famous part once again in the upcoming ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
But things could have been much different and comic book fans could have been watching Liam, 27, wielding the enchanted hammer Mjolnir.
Speaking to W Magazine, Chris said: “I came into the audition with Kenneth Branagh and thought I nailed it and then never heard anything back. Months went by and then my brother, my little brother, Liam, was in Australia and sent a tape across and he got a call back, then another call back and then was down to the last kind of four or five people for it. I remember sitting in Vancouver, shooting ‘Cabin in the Woods’ with Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon. Both of them were looking at the trades at this sort of top five guys for ‘Thor’ and saying, ‘Why aren’t you in the mix here? What happened?’ I said, ‘I don’t know. I blew my audition I guess.’
“I came in kind of with a little, I guess, motivation and maybe frustration that my little brother had gotten further than me. It’s a little family, sibling rivalry sort of kicked up in me. Then it moved pretty quick from there. It was cool.”
Chris will be seen with fellow Avenger The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and then in the next two ‘Avengers’ films.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ marks the first time the MCU will feature a lead female villain, Hela – played by Cate Blanchett – and the film also features another strong-female Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Ruffalo recently praised his co-stars work in the romp.
He said: “It’s great that we have Blanchett and Thompson, these two amazing, powerful, strong, beautiful, intelligent women, playing these two important, integral characters in this movie.”

Angelina Jolie’s movie submitted for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie’s new movie ‘First They Killed My Father’ has been listed as Cambodia’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars.
The film was shot by Jolie in the Southeast Asian country and features an all-Cambodian cast with virtually no English dialogue, and it has been submitted by the Cambodia Oscar Selection Committee as the nation’s entry.
Based on the memoir by Loung Ung, it focuses on what life was like for Ung and the Cambodian people under the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, a period which saw nearly two million people killed.
‘First They Killed My Father’ was first shown at the Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals before being released on Netflix.
Being submitted into this category marks the highest entry to date of foreign language movies but might not be accepted by the Academy.
Jolie was heavily criticised after a recent Vanity Fair profile described how casting directors looked to Cambodian orphanages, circuses and slum schools to find a child actor to play their lead, Ung, and set up a game “disturbing in its realism” where money was put on a table and they were encouraged to think of what they needed it for before the cash was snatched away.
However, the 42-year-old actress explained to the magazine: “Srey Moch [the girl ultimately chosen for the part] was the only child that stared at the money for a very, very long time. When she was forced to give it back, she became overwhelmed with emotion. All these different things came flooding back. When she was asked later what the money was for, she said her grandfather had died, and they didn’t have enough money for a nice funeral.”

Donald Glover isn’t ready to direct Star Wars film

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Glover would love to direct a ‘Star Wars’ film in the future but he doesn’t feel “ready” to take on the challenge yet.
The 33-year-old actor is already part of the sci-fi franchise after being cast as a young Lando Calrissian in the spin-off movie based around space smuggler Han Solo but despite claiming he would be “honoured” to go behind the camera a story set in a galaxy far, far away, he doesn’t think he has the skills to take control of a saga installment yet.
Glover made history at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night (17.09.17) when he became the first African-American director to win the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series prize for FX’s ‘Atlanta’ but he wants to build up his experience before he takes on ‘Star Wars’.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ at the Emmys, Glover – who also won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his acting in ‘Atlanta’ – said: “I would be honoured but it’s a big plate, it’s a big plate. That’s a buffet plate. I don’t know if I’m ready for that yet.”
The Han Solo movie recently had a switch around of directors after Christopher Miller and Phil Lord left the franchise due to creative differences and Ron Howard took over.
This is not the only movie in the franchise that has had a change of director with Colin Trevorrow leaving ‘Episode IX’ to be replaced by ‘The Force Awakens’ director J.J. Abrams.
The Han Solo spin-off movie is set to follow a younger version of the titular character, with Alden Ehrenreich taking over the iconic role from Harrison Ford.
Han and his wookiee sidekick Chewbacca will be seen first meeting Lando Calrissian and they will also encounter Woody Harrelson’s alter ego Beckett, who is believed to be a mentor to young Han who guides him on his journey to becoming a space smuggler.
The ‘Star Wars Anthology’ film is slated to be released in May 2018.

Jamie Lee Curtis ready for final Halloween outing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to the ‘Halloween’ franchise for one final battle with psychopath killer Michael Myers.
The 58-year-old actress is coming back to the movie series which kicked off her big screen career back in 1978, making her Hollywood’s horror “scream queen”.
Jamie will once again portray Laurie Strode and will have to try and survive the murderous clutches of Myers.
Curtis has reprised her famous role three times since John Carpenter’s original in 1981’s ‘Halloween II’, 1998’s ‘Halloween H20: 20 Years Later’ and 2002’s ‘Halloween: Resurrection’ but the new film from Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures is being billed as the “final” Halloween.
Jamie has shared the exciting news on her Twitter account, uploading a photo of her in character standing outside the infamous house in Haddonfield, Illinois, where many of the horrific events of the first film took place with Myers’s white masked face looming behind her in the shadows.
Her accompanying tweet read: “Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18.”
The movie is being created by director David Gordon Green, who co-wrote the script with ‘Eastbound & Down’ star Danny McBride, whilst the first film’s writer-and-director Carpenter is acting as an executive producer and consultant.
McBride has previously stated that he wants his movie to act like a direct sequel to the first two films and he is going to faithful to Carpenter’s original idea for Myers.
He said: “We’re just trying to play with that. Make him real. Not make him real by giving him some crazy backstory either. Just getting back to the basics. Even the moment that they made Laurie Strode and Michael Myers siblings – it also makes it not quite as scary. So all that kind of stuff to us … those are the things that took an amazing idea and took it somewhere it wasn’t quite as effective.”

Sofia Vergara made husband Joe Manganiello cast her in new film

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Vergara “forced” her husband Joe Manganiello to give her a part in his latest movie.
The 45-year-old ‘Modern Family’ actress gently convinced the ‘Magic Mike’ actor – who she married in November 2015 – to cast her in a small part in ‘Stano’, the film he is producing.
Sofia admits it was a great experience to be able to get to work with her man on a movie and it was “amazing” to watch him in a professional capacity.
Speaking to ExtraTV.com at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (17.09.17), she said: “Yes, I forced him to give me a movie in the summer because I had some time off and he gave me a little role in a movie that he’s producing. It was amazing for me to be able to see him at work. He is rewriting the script. He’s so into the movie that it was great to see that part of him at work.”
‘Stano’ follows a man who returns to the Bronx after serving 17 years in prison for a violent mistake he made as a kid that ultimately robbed him of a professional baseball career and the love of his life.
Vergara will star alongside her husband and Josh Duhamel in the new movie.
‘City Island’ director Raymond De Felitta is on board to helm the new movie with Joe’s production company 3:59 producing with the script written by Robert Bruzio.
Filming started this summer in New York.

Domhnall Gleeson unsure on Star Wars future

OHMYGOSSIP — Domhnall Gleeson doesn’t know whether he’ll be “involved” in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’.
The 34-year-old actor starred as the villainous General Hux in the 2015 movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, and will reprise his role in the upcoming production ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’, but has admitted it is currently unclear whether or not he will make it to the sci-fi franchise’s final instalment.
Speaking about the news that J.J. Abrams would be replacing Colin Trevorrow as the director for ‘Episode IX’, Domhnall insisted he could only comment as a fan of the franchise, as he doesn’t yet know if he’ll get to work with the filmmaker.
He said: “I can’t speak from any perspective except for the fact as somebody who likes the movies because it’s not been disclosed to anybody – because obviously nobody knows what’s going to happen with ‘The Last Jedi’ – whether I’ll be involved in that film or not. So I don’t think of it as somebody who’s necessarily involved or not involved, that’s just its own thing.”
J.J. directed the first instalment of the new trilogy before Rian Johnson took over for the upcoming second instalment and eighth mainline movie, and Domhnall has said he’s pleased J.J. is making a return as he did a “brilliant job” on ‘The Force Awakens’.
Speaking to IGN.com, he said: “But, you know, I think it’s very bad for Colin but if that was – but if the right thing to do is to part company, the most right thing to do is the same in any relationship, you know? That happens.
“And then with J.J., he’s a great director. I think that he did a brilliant job on the first one and it makes absolute sense why after they parted company with Colin that was the place they looked and I think it’s very exciting for the fans of the film that he’s back.”

Darren Aronofsky doesn’t care about Mother! critics

OHMYGOSSIP — Darren Aronofsky “doesn’t mind” that people are “upset” by ‘Mother!’.
The 48-year-old filmmaker helmed the psychological thriller that has divided audiences since its release last week, but says he isn’t disappointed that some viewers disliked the movie because it was designed to be a “cautionary tale of what’s happening to the planet”, which he notes can be hard for audiences to accept.
He said: “It’s all good. I don’t mind people are upset by the film because it’s supposed to be a reflection and a cautionary tale of what’s happening to the planet. And it’s hard, because I’m pointing at all of us saying, ‘Look what’s going on! Let’s think about this!’ I’m also guilty, I’m not any better.”
But Darren – who is in a relationship with the movie’s lead actress Jennifer Lawrence – did bemoan those who “can’t acknowledge the filmmaking”, as he insists the stylistic approach to the movie was “really hard to pull off”.
He added: “But the one thing I can’t understand is how people can’t acknowledge the filmmaking – there are three camera shots in the whole film: over the shoulder, on her face, and her point of view. There’s no score. There are all these things we did that are really hard to pull off. I couldn’t have done this five years ago. It’s only because my team and I have been together for so long that we took the chance.”
The filmmaker admits the movie’s cast – which also includes Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer – might make audiences believe the project is lighter than it actually is, and always knew it was going to be “a lot” for viewers.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly magazine, Darren said: “I think I knew it was going to be a lot of stuff. Anytime you do something that aggressive there are going to be people who enjoy it, who want to be on that roller coaster ride, and then there are others who say, ‘Oh no, that was not for me.’
“It’s a strange one. You see Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer and people are conditioned for a certain type of movie. And … we didn’t do that type of movie.”

Sebastian Stan: I knew I, Tonya would be a special movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Sebastian Stan realised ‘I, Tonya’ was a special movie during his time on set.
The 35-year-old actor stars as Jeff Gillooly, the ex-husband of controversial American figure skater Tonya Harding, in the new Craig Gillespie-directed film, and Sebastian feels the hard work and patience of the cast has paid off with the positive feedback they’ve already received.
Asked when he realised he was making a special movie, Sebastian shared: “It was definitely on set. I mean, the movie kind of came together there and we knew because the days were really long … 31 days to shoot it.
“And there were all these skating sequences and it was a lot to get done.”
But Sebastian said that because the cast – which also included Australian star Margot Robbie – were aware of how good the film could become, they never lost patience with the director.
Speaking to Collider, Sebastian explained: “We never got frustrated because everyone was operating from a point of view of what was the creatively most important decision that we could make on that day.
“For the film, for the story … it’s what shot really needed to be in the movie.”
Meanwhile, Margot recently admitted she didn’t know ‘I, Tonya’ was based on a real-life story.
The blonde beauty plays Tonya – who pleaded guilty to hindering the prosecution following an attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan in 1994 – in the film, but she was initially unaware of the dramatic storyline.
Margot confessed: “I didn’t realise it was a true story.
“I thought it was complete fiction, just a wacky story. And then I found out it was all true and I was even more fascinated.”

Russia produces local version of Mastermind

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has agreed to let Russia produce a local version of ‘Mastermind’.
The broadcaster has sold the format rights of the long-running quiz show to the production company BIZ Media and the 16-part series, which airs on the Rossiya- Kultura channel, began airing yesterday (17.09.17) under the name ‘Geniy’, which translate to ‘Genius’, and sees presenter Alexey Begak as the quiz master.
Elena Zimenko, Producer BIZ Media, said: “It’s amazing how ‘Mastermind’ or ‘Geniy’ continues to be a popular choice with television viewers, after such a long history on television. The host of the show Alexei Begak’s cool detachment and professionalism makes him a formidable quizmaster. We’re absolutely sure that Rossiya – Kulture would be a very good and natural home for the ‘Mastermind’ format and Russian viewers will be able to watch the show for many years.”
‘Mastermind’, which is currently hosted by John Humphrys, first hit television screens in the UK over 40 years ago and quickly became a fan favourite as viewers watched competitors go head-to-head to answer challenging questions while sitting in the iconic black chair.
Salim Mukaddam, Vice President and General Manager for CEE, BBC Worldwide said: “We have seen a renewed interest in our quiz show formats in recent months as local broadcasters across the region are looking for high-volume, high quality shows to drive audiences.
“‘Mastermind’ is a perfect example of this – even after 40 years the series continues to bring in large audiences in the UK owing to its unique blend of intelligence and entertainment. I’m delighted that Russian audiences will soon find their next genius through our agreement with BIZ Media and VGTRK.”
The BBC have previously sold the format rights to Ireland, India, Russia, Israel, Turkey, Nigeria and Ghana.

Linda Nolan’s cancer under control

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Nolan’s cancer is under control.
The 58-year-old singer and actress was diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer after doctors found a cyst on her pelvis earlier this year, and has now received the happy news that the disease hasn’t spread to other parts of her body, so she can now focus on “looking after [herself].”
In a clip shown on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (18.09.17), doctors told the star her cancer was under control, and she said she was “relieved” she can now look forward to spending more time with her family.
She said in the clip: “I’m relieved. I’m so happy I’ve got good news to tell my family and my friends. I can plan, I can start thinking about going away again, not worrying about any pains I get, that’s natural, I’ve got painkillers. And every three months they’re going to see me to have a scan, and I’ve just got to be good to myself and look after myself. And look forward with a positive sign now. I can look at the little nieces and nephews now and not get upset, because there’s every possibility I am going to see them growing up, it’s brilliant.”
And Linda has said she refuses to be defeated by the incurable illness, and says she’s a “tough cookie” who is going to “fight” the disease with everything she has.
She added: “Final message to cancer? You’re dealing with a tough cookie here, so you know, be careful because I’m going to fight you all the way.”
Later in the show, Linda revealed she was looking forward to continuing to work now that she doesn’t have to worry about her cancer, and is planning on heading out on tour in the near future.
Meanwhile, the blonde – who previously battled cancer in 2006, a year before her husband Brian Hudson died in 2007 – previously revealed she is “terrified” of dying.
She said: “I think it’s at night it hits you mostly, really, for me. My husband isn’t here. So those times in the night I wake up, the first time around, he’d put his arms around me and say, ‘It’s going to be OK’ and you’d think, it will be OK because he’s here.
“I do have great support but I still wake up in the night and he’s not there and it’s a double blow. I do miss that one person that you can be 100 per cent raw with, if you like … his time I’m scared of dying.”

Sally Ann Matthews promises epic week on Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Sally Ann Matthews has promised that Eva Price and Jenny Bradley’s epic forthcoming double wedding will go down in soap history.
The 46-year-old actress says the week, which will see the busty blonde barmaid (Catherine Tyldesley) get revenge on her cheating fiance Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) and her best friend Maria Connor (Samia Ghadie), whilst the strawberry blonde knicker stitcher walks down the aisle with Aidan’s father Johnny (Richard Hawley), has one explosive scene that viewers will never forget.
Appearing on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (18.09.17), Sally teased: “She’s [Jenny] very much a part of Eva’s revenge plan, when you see what she’s got planned.
“It’s really not going to go good, but then again it’s ‘Corrie’ so nothing was ever going to go smoothly. It’s going to be an epic week. It [the wedding] was such fun to do.
“We knew about this story a long time ago, and we kept discovering snippets and then trying to piece it together. The wedding spans a number of days, and there’s this one scene. It’s epic. When ‘Corrie’ is 150 years old I think this scene will be shown in a montage of its greatest moments.”
The flame-haired beauty says after the cast watched back the scene, they roared with applause.
She said: “When I came out to watch it, everyone screamed and applauded. It was fantastic.”
On top of the joint wedding, Jenny’s foster mother Rita Sullivan – portrayed by ‘Corrie’ legend Barbara Knox – is battling a brain tumour and is set for a dramatic storyline.
Although Sally isn’t giving anything away, she said Rita – who has been on the cobbles since 1964 – has done an amazing job.
She said: “Barbara is 84 years old. She’s so deserving of a big storyline and she’s working so hard she’s so on top of it.
“She does it brilliantly that’s all I’m saying.
“I’m not telling you anything, I’m just telling you to watch.”
‘Coronation Street’ kicks off its epic week on ITV1 on Monday (18.09.170 7.30pm.
