Full lineup for Celebrity Big Brother revealed as Sharon Osbourne leads eviction task in huge twist

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are amongst the biggest stars to have entered the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The 66-year-old presenter is best known for having fronted ‘This Morning’ alongside Phillip Schofield from 2002 until 2009 and was the last famous face to walk through the doors on the launch night of the ITV1 reality show on Monday (04.02.24) night, whilst former ‘X Factor’ judges Sharon and Louis were the first to go in and were faced with a surprise task that saw them hidden away from their fellow celebs.
Fern joked that she was “sure it’s past [her] bedtime!” but was “excited for an adventure”, whilst ‘Heartstopper’ actor Bradley Riches vowed to “be himself” in the house.
‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ star Lauren Simon wondered how long she could go without sex and worried about having to sleep in a bed that isn’t her own whilst radio host Zeze Millz claimed that the”public will be shocked to see the softer side” to her.
‘Dragon’s Den’ contestant Levi Roots “would normally refuse those types of show” but made an exception for this one whilst ‘Ibiza Weekender’ David Potts vowed to be the “life and soul of the party” whilst West End actress joked she would be the “jukebox” in the house. Gary Goldsmith – who is the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales – admitted that he loved to “wind people up” whilst ‘Coronation Street’ star Colson Smith thought it was “absolute madness” that he was entering the house in the first place.
Before that, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Nikita Kuzmin and ‘Love Island’ winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu entered the house but none of them were aware that Sharon and Louis had been deciding which celebrities they would put in danger of eviction based on their first impressions.
In the end, Sharon chose Gary, David, and Zeze and explained: “David has come to show off, he was trying too hard to be outrageous. Gary is “very nervous and I don’t think he’s comfortable. Zeze I didn’t get a sense of who she is yet.”
Both Sharon and Louis were then seen greeting their co-stars in the house as they joined their fellow celebrities for the first time.

Denis Villeneuve believes Dune stars are the ‘future of cinema’

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve believes Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler and Florence Pugh are the “future of cinema”.
The 56-year-old filmmaker insisted the young stars in ‘Dune: Part Two’ are “not products” with very strong identities in their own right and he’s impressed at how they’ve attracted such loyal fanbases, which has helped bring people back into cinemas.
Asked if he has faith in the next generation following claims the era of the movie star is over, Denis told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s difficult to talk about this because it’s in motion and we don’t have distance. Maybe we will see the impact in 10 years, but yes, I believe in this new generation.
“They are very open, very wise, very skilled and very playful.
“Timothée, Zendaya, Florence and Austin play with the red carpet, and it’s stunning how they own that space.
“They are very authentic. They are not products. They are artists who own their own identities.
“They also receive an incredible amount of demand and curiosity from young people.
“These actors bring out a lot of passion in teenagers and young adults, and I love the fact that they are bringing young people to the theaters. So they are the movie stars of the future, and they will talk to the new generation. This is the future of cinema.”
The Canadian filmmaker also discussed how “frightening” he found the idea of Hollywood and was “vulnerable” ahead of making his American debut with 2013’s ‘Prisoners’, which starred Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal.
He said: “For foreign directors, Hollywood can be frightening. You hear all those stories of great filmmakers getting crushed by the system and losing their identity. It’s a big machine, and I felt vulnerable.
“There was something precious and pure about what I had just done with ‘Incendies’, and I just wanted to protect that and myself by making future movies with the same kind of artistic integrity.
“But one of the first [American] screenplays I was sent by my agents at the time strangely felt in direct continuity with ‘Incendies’ and the thematic cycle of violence. It was ‘Prisoners’, so I agreed to meet with the studio and I said to myself, ‘I’m going to finally meet those infamous Hollywood studio executives.’ ”
But Denis was shocked to find he had a great experience in the studio system.
He said: “I then went to L.A. to pitch without fear because I had nothing to lose. I was sure that I wouldn’t get it. And so I just told the truth, and being straightforward might be why I got the project. I wasn’t trying to please them.
“And to my great surprise, I couldn’t believe how well ‘Prisoners’ went. I was absolutely respected, and my director’s cut made it to the screen.”

Damien Chazelle expects future funding to be reduced following Babylon’s box office flop

OHMYGOSSIP — Damien Chazelle knows ‘Babylon’ is going to impact the funding he gets for his future films.
The Oscar-winning director’s 2022 blockbuster – which starred Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie and explored the changes in Hollywood when it transitioned from silent movies to talking pictures – received mixed reviews and took just $15 million domestically against an $80 million budget, and the 39-year-old filmmaker is aware that he is unlikely to secure so much money for his next project as a result.
Speaking on the ‘Talking Pictures’ podcast, he said: “Certainly, in financial terms, ‘Babylon’ didn’t work at all. You try to not have that effect what you’re doing creatively, but, at some level, it can’t help but affect it. But maybe that’s OK?
“I have a very mixed mind about it. Who knows. Maybe I won’t be able to get this one made. I have no idea. We’ll have to wait and see.
“I’ve been head in the sand. I’ve been sort of busy writing. So I’ll get a real taste of how it’s changed or not [since ‘Babylon’] once I get to finish this script and try to actually get it made.
“I’m in a sort of trepidatious state of mind, but I have no illusions. I won’t get a budget of ‘Babylon’ size any time soon, or at least not on this next one.”
Damien previously admitted he knew the movie would “ruffle some feathers” and he welcomed differing views of the film.
He told Insider: “Once the filmmaker finishes the movie, then it sort of becomes the audience’s, and that includes the critics, includes everyone.
“And everyone’s gonna have a different take on the film, and I think they’re all legitimate. Then it becomes the world’s movie, in a way.”
The ‘La La Land’ director believes that the debate surrounding ‘Babylon’ is healthy for the film industry and he was aware that his work was likely to provoke strong opinions.
He said: “But it’s good to have something that stimulates conversation and debate and a lot of fierce opinions on either side. We all knew the movie was gonna ruffle some feathers and get some people mad, and I think that’s good. More movies should do that.”

Paul Dano wants to make a directorial comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Dano thinks writing is the “hardest part” of making a movie.
The 39-year-old actor is known for his roles in ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and ’12 Years a Slave’ but co-wrote and directed the 2018 film ‘Wildlife’ and is hoping to step behind the camera once again at some point next year.
He told RogerEbert.com: ” I think writing is the hardest part. It takes me a while. And with acting—that’s what I’ve been doing—so it involves taking a break from that, which is what I’m doing now because my wife [Zoe Kazan] is in a play six days a week, and I’m at home with the two kids and writing.
“My dream is to try to make something in ’25. We’ll see if that comes to fruition. I’ve got a couple things that I’ve been writing, and I think they’re getting close to be able to do something with them. But, yes, I think I will. I hope I will.”
The ‘Spaceman’ star also revealed that whilst he is completely comfortable rewatching things that he has written or directed, he never looks back at anything he has appeared in.
He said: “No. I think there’s probably things that are long enough ago now that I could get over myself and say, ‘OK. You weren’t so bad.’ I can probably feel OK about it. No. That is the funny thing about acting. And it’s not something I feel with writing or directing. Something about acting is different. It’s just a strange profession in that regard. No. Usually, I’m so tired that I just want to have a laugh, if anything. Then maybe read for a few moments after the laugh, and then just go to bed.”

Joanna Page has ‘no idea what’s going on’ with Gavin and Stacey

OHMYGOSSIP — Joanna Page has “absolutely no idea what’s going on” with ‘Gavin and Stacey’.
The 46-year-old actress – who is best known for playing Stacey Shipman in the comedy series – insisted she doesn’t know if there’s any truth in speculation there will be a 2024 Christmas special for the show and she “never” asks co-stars and writers Ruth Jones and James Corden if they are planning anything.
She told RadioTimes.com: “I have absolutely no idea what’s going on, it’s the same as what it’s been for the last six years. I never ask Ruth or James if they’re doing anymore or anything, they’re the ones who write it.
“I don’t have a clue. I have no idea what’s happening. It was just such a fab job to work on and we all adore each other, we’re all like family…. I’ve got no other information than there was last time I said.
“I’ve never ever asked them [Ruth and James] if they’re going to write anymore, I don’t know why. I just never ever have. So I absolutely have no idea. No idea.”
But Joanna admitted she would jump at the chance to play Stacey again.
She said: “Oh god, I think we all would.
“It was just a job completely different to any other. We’re all like a family. I just love them all dearly, they’re just such fab people, so I think we all would love to meet up again and do another one.”
Her comments come after Ruth recently dismissed reports there was a new special episode in the works.
During an appearance on RTE Radio 1, she said: “It’s sadly a rumour… All I can say is, if there was something to say on that front, James and I would happily announce it, we would.
“Apparently there’s a bidding war going on between the BBC and Netflix and I love it because it says ‘a source says’, who is this source?”
Ruth theorised that the rumours came to be after she was pictured having lunch with James in the U.S. after he had finished his stint as the presenter on the ‘Late Late Show’.
She explained: “Then the next thing is ‘Oh my god they must be writing more ‘Gavin and Stacey’, which is lovely.
“It’s lovely that people are so desperate for it because imagine if it was the opposite and were like ‘Oh, god, you’re not bringing that back again’.”

Strictly Come Dancing bosses wants Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses want to sign both Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham for the next series of the show.
Producers on the Latin and ballroom contest are keen to secure a married couple to go head-to-head in the Latin and ballroom contest and think the aspiring chef – who is the son of David and Victoria Beckham – and his model-and-director wife would perfectly fit the bill.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Brooklyn and Nicola are very glam and perfectly fit the profile for the kind of celebs who bosses are after.
“They’d love to get Brooklyn on the show as he is immediately recognisable to ‘Strictly’s core audience.
“Nicola would be brilliant, but she’s still not very well known here despite being the daughter-in-law of our most famous celebrity couple. So to get them on the same show, competing against each other — that would be a producer’s dream.”
It was claimed in January the ‘Lola’ actress wanted to secure a stint on the reality show to help boost her profile in the UK.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column at the time: “Nicola is known in the US but over in the UK she’s at the bottom of the publicity pecking order in Brooklyn’s famous family.
“She has a team behind her who are keen on boosting her profile over here — and Brooklyn is right behind her.
“Strictly has been mooted as the perfect show for Nicola.
“She’s an accomplished actress, has the right look and appearing on the show would attract a huge amount of positive promotion.
“Her team are playing a long game and they’ve been slowly upping her profile to get her on the radar of a wider audience.
“She’s teamed up with Pretty Little Thing and was papped in their clothes last week. It’s all part of the plan to start building up her profile with Brooklyn. They want to become known as a couple in their own right.
“Nicola’s genuinely got something about her, so has every hope of building on her own fame away from Brand Beckham — 2024 promises to be an exciting time for BNB.”

Danielle Harold’s nan thought she was dating Bobby Brazier

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Harold’s nan thought she was dating Bobby Brazier.
The 31-year-old actress sparked speculation she’d struck up a romance with her former ‘EastEnders’ co-star after they were pictured looking cosy after the National Television Awards last year and though she insisted the 20-year-old actor was just being the “biggest gent” and came to her aid after she struggled to walk in her high-heeled shoes, even her grandmother thought they were a couple.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper’s ‘Invite Only’ podcast: “Poor Bobby. He must think, ‘Oh look, I’m getting attached to this old bird’. I’m like, ‘Sorry Bobby, it keeps me looking young, so…’
“Bless him, he was just being the biggest gent that night (the pictures were taken) because I could not walk in my shoes at all. We were at the NTAs. And our car left us, like, all the way around the back.
“I said, ‘Bobby, I can’t, I can’t, listen, I can’t walk.’ He was like, ‘Yes, you can.’ He was just being a gent and now he gets named as my boyfriend every two minutes. Bless him. You just laugh, and go that’s just how it is.
“Even my nan thought I was with Bobby. She said, ‘That was a lovely picture of you and your new boyfriend. I was like, ‘No nan, I’m not going out with Bobby.’ She’s so sweet.”
Following her stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ last year, Danielle was inundated with messages from men who were keen to woo her with a cup of tea.
She explained: “I did have messages about cups of tea. Icame out and I was like, ‘What?’
“I had just come out of the jungle, so didn’t really go on my phone too much, I just sort of had a quick look, and saw ‘tea, tea, tea, Yorkshire tea’ and said, ‘What’s with this tea business, Mum?’
“Tony Bellew did a secret mission in the camp and he had to pretend to write a love song to his wife Rachael, and he was going to sing it. I was there embracing the love. But then I just said, ‘I can’t even get someone to get me a cup of tea.’ And then, yeah. I was hoping I’d actually get sent some boxes of tea (by admirers), but that hasn’t happened yet.”

Stefan Dennis was ready to quit Neighbours

OHMYGOSSIP — Stefan Dennis had been planning to quit ‘Neighbours’ before it faced the axe.
The 65-year-old actor – who portrayed Paul Robinson from the show’s first episode in 1985 until 1992 and made a brief return in 1993 before rejoining the cast permanently in 2004 – had intended to walk away from Ramsay Street in 2025 but his plans were brought forward when it was announced Channel 5 were dropping the show in 2022, and even when it was then brought back by Amazon in September, he still wasn’t sure if he wanted to come back.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “What people don’t know is my original plan was to bow out on ‘Neighbours’ 40th anniversary.
“Then the show was cancelled and I thought, ‘Oh well, they’ve just brought my retirement forward two years. I miss my big send off from the show but that’s showbiz.
“My dream was to semi-retire, do one or two films a year and travel but then Amazon picked up the show and here we are. When I was asked to come back I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to go back.”
But friends warned Stefan he would be “stupid” to turn his back on such a “great gig”.
He admitted: “Then a few people got in my ear and said, ‘What are you doing? It’s a great gig you stupid old fool’. I came back, hit the ground running and haven’t stopped.”
The soap stalwart “never” wanted to appear in the show in the first place and couldn’t have dreamed it would still be going strong today.
He said: “I never wanted to do the show. I was a young aspiring actor and thought it was corny and would only last six months.
“But ‘Neighbours’ has gone on to become my career and life. I also met my wife because of Neighbours. I was doing panto in Southampton and I wouldn’t have been there without ‘Neighbours’.”
And while the programme made the cast huge stars in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Paul – who enjoyed brief pop success in the wake of his ‘Neighbours’ fame – never took things for granted.
He said: “We went from two-bit actors in Melbourne to being treated like rock stars.
“I revelled in it but I also had the common sense to keep pinching myself. I realised it wasn’t real, and wouldn’t last forever.”

Scarlett Moffat ‘knows herself more’ since becoming a mum

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffat has a “completely different mindset” since becoming a mum.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star, 33, welcomed baby Jude – her first child with fiance Scott Dobinson – last summer and she’s now opened up about her new role as a mother insisting her son has changed her life and allowed her to “know” herself a lot better.
She told OK! magazine: “I have a completely different mindset these days – it was like a switch flicked in my head when I became a mam.
“I used to put so much pressure on myself and worry about other people’s opinions. Now? I don’t care. I feel I know myself a lot more. And I’ve given birth to a little human being – that’s amazing.”
Scarlett went on to reveal the birth came as a surprise as she was about to go for a spa day to celebrate her sister’s birthday, but it all had to be cancelled after her waters broke unexpectedly.
She added: “I was one of those women who swanned through pregnancy with no sickness, no acid reflux, nothing. I embraced every moment.
“Then last June at 35 weeks I was getting ready to go on a spa day for my little sister’s birthday when I suddenly heard a pop. Scott said: ‘Have you just wet the bed?’ but it was my waters partially breaking. So off we went, straight to hospital”.
Scarlett insisted the birth was “wonderful” even though she has a low pain threshold, adding: “I’ve never even had a tattoo, that’s how much I hate pain. But I think my body was on my side.”
Scarlett is now looking ahead to her wedding as Scott popped the question five months after Jude’s birth.
Scott got down on one knee amid a romantic set-up in their living room, which involved their baby son, and Scarlett gushed about the magical moment in a post on Instagram.
She wrote: “Mondays are my new favourite day. Walked in to find my soulmate on one knee, with baby Jude wearing the cutest outfit, asking the question, ‘Mammy will you marry Daddy’.
“The most perfect proposal in my favourite place, our home … I truly am on cloud nine, feel so lucky, it feels incredible being able to share this with you all, I always wished for this.””

Tim Blake Nelson ‘heartbroken’ to be cut from Dune: Part Two

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Blake Nelson is “heartbroken” that his scene from blockbuster ‘Dune: Part Two’ was left on the cutting room floor.
The 59-year-old actor was left gutted when he found out his contribution to the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film adaptation of 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert was cut due to the film being too long.
However, he still plans to work with the director again.
He told MovieWeb: “I don’t think I’m at liberty to say what the scene was. I’d leave that to Denis [Villeneuve] if he wants to talk about it. I had a great time over there shooting it. And then he had to cut it because he thought the movie was too long. And I am heartbroken over that, but there’s no hard feelings. I loved it, and I can’t wait to do something else with him and we certainly plan to do that.”
‘Dune: Part Two’ has a run time of 166 minutes.
And the film is already proving a success, having earned a record-breaking 98 per cent on the review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, the highest for any ‘Dune’ adaptation.
Denis Villeneuve recently insisted the third ‘Dune’ film will be his last in the franchise.
The filmmaker has decided ‘Dune Messiah’ will be his last outing in the franchise if it’s green-lit, despite there being four more books.
He told Time magazine: “Dune Messiah should be the last Dune movie for me.”

Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya’s real friendship helped Dune 2 shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Denis Villeneuve says the real life friendship between ‘Dune: Part Two’ stars Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya was a huge help when they were shooting the movie.
The 56-year-old director reunited his cast to make the second part of the film, and he’s revealed the two actors grew close while working on ‘Dune’ and the subsquent promotional tour – and it helped them when making the sequel because they “weren’t afraid” to dive into “intimate” scenes.
Villeneuve told Deadline.com: “When we did Part One, I remember that very quickly there was chemistry being that were born between both actors.
“And that in between when we were doing the promotional tour of Part One, they became real friends.
“And that, of course, tremendously helped me because the whole movie is based on their love story.”
Chalamet plays Paul Atreides with Zendaya as his love interest Chani, and Villeneuve is convinced the pair’s strong real life connection helped them onscreen.
He added: “The whole structure of the movie is embedded in their love story. And through their relationship, we see all the drama that is being unfolded and all the tension.
“That intimacy, that friendship, that strong friendship between Timothee and Zendaya helped me because they were not afraid to go into more intimate scenes.
“So it was very easy for me to work with them. I don’t know if I was surprised [by the result], but I would say I was moved, many times.
“Many times, like where I felt I knew that I had a movie. There’s specific moments where I said, okay, okay, I’m okay. We nailed it.
“I felt the connection between both when they were like getting closer together or when they were growing apart. I felt the tension and I was very deeply happy with both.”
The movie also stars Austin Butler and Florence Pugh and Villeneuve previously hailed his young cast as the “future of cinema”.
When asked if he has faith in the next generation of movie stars, Villeneuve told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s difficult to talk about this because it’s in motion and we don’t have distance. Maybe we will see the impact in 10 years, but yes, I believe in this new generation.
“They are very open, very wise, very skilled and very playful. Timothee, Zendaya, Florence and Austin play with the red carpet, and it’s stunning how they own that space.
“They are very authentic. They are not products. They are artists who own their own identities. They also receive an incredible amount of demand and curiosity from young people.
“These actors bring out a lot of passion in teenagers and young adults, and I love the fact that they are bringing young people to the theatres. So they are the movie stars of the future, and they will talk to the new generation. This is the future of cinema.”

Carey Mulligan was actually pregnant whilst playing a mother-to-be in Spaceman

OHMYGOSSIP — Carey Mulligan was actually pregnant whilst playing a mother-to-be in ‘Spaceman’.
The 38-year-old actress – who is married to Marcus Mumford and already has Evelyn, eight, and five-year-old Winfred with him – gave birth to a little girl last year but explained that whilst filming the role of a pregnant woman in the new Netflix movie whilst she was expecting in real life, some of the time she had to “fake” it and even used the little one for some scenes in the film.
She told MovieWeb: “I was pregnant for some of it and fake pregnant for some of it. When you see my stomach, and I’m lying on the bed with my mother [in the movie], that’s my real eight-month baby in there. So yeah, I did channel a lot of motherly stuff.”
Carey – who stars alongside Adam Sandler in the film that focuses on an astronaut halfway through his latest mission when he begins to question his life back on Earth – was also required to jump into icy cold water for one scene in the film and recalled that it was a “crazy” day on set.
Adam – who plays her on-screen husband Jakub – joked: “Celine Dion, late at night, when Carey had to dive into a cold pool…”
She said: “It was cold, it was a little crazy… I didn’t love it. Johan [Renck, director] wanted me to disappear… run and jump and then dive and then just try and stay under as long as you can… It actually was one of my proudest moments as an actor, staying underwater… Kate Winslet, eat your heart out! How long was it in ‘Avatar’? Nine minutes?”

Marcel Somerville’s wife admits to ‘huge mistake’

OHMYGOSSIP — Marcel Somerville’s wife has admitted to making a “huge mistake” amid allegations she cheated on him.
Rebecca Vierirax – who has been married to the ‘Love Island’ and Blazing Squad star for just over a year and has a young son with him – took to Instagram to issue a grovelling apology for her actions.
She wrote: “By now most of you would have seen what’s going on. I’ve made a huge mistake, I’ve embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families.
“My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband. I’ve said a lot of things that I shouldn’t have and it was stupid of me so I won’t sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made.
“I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare.
“I love you beyond measure, with no doubts, with no question, you are my beginning and my end my forever love. I love you.”
Rebecca then posted a close up picture of their wedding bands.
According to The Mirror, her post comes after a woman known as KD, who is the mother of American singer Slim Jxmmi’s child, alleged Rebecca had been sexting Slim and was “cheating on her husband”.
A source told the paper: “Marcel is absolutely devastated. Rebecca was his life and he’d changed so many things about his lifestyle to make her happy. Everything he did, everything he worked for was for his wife and his son.
“The poor guy feels like he’s in a nightmare and he keeps hoping he’ll wake up. He doesn’t know what he’s going to do now but he’s moved out of the family home and is living with friends at the moment.”
