Carey Mulligan wants to do more action films

OHMYGOSSIP — Carey Mulligan wants to do a film with “a lot of action”.
The 32-year-old actress has starred in a number of period dramas, including ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ and ‘Suffragette’, but now she is on the lookout for something more “contemporary” and relevant to today’s society.
Speaking at the 61st BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Cinema, in London’s Leicester Square, on Thursday (05.10.17), she said: “I feel I’ve been stuck in the 19th Century for too long. I need to do something contemporary.
“I want to do more films set in the modern day that feel relevant to today. Some state of the nation pieces. I want to do something that requires a lot of action.”
The British actress can next be seen in Dee Rees’ new racial discrimination movie ‘Mudbound’ is set in 1940s Southern America and she had to work hard to perfect her accent.
She said: “I worked with the same dialogue coach for a while. He sent me lots of recordings from women from the south and I just had hope for the best.”
The movie is based on Hillary Jordan’s novel of the same name and follows the unlikely friendship of two World War Two veterans, one white and one black, as they return from war and find common ground as their families face difficulty in their local community, and the actress signed up for the film in the hope the director could turn the story into something “big and epic”.
She said: “The reason I wanted to get involved in this film was primarily because I wanted to work with Dee.
“After reading the book and the script, I wanted to see if Dee could do what the book inspires and make the small, sentimental story into something big and epic.”

Mary J Blige hopes Mudbound makes audience ask questions

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary J Blige hopes her new movie ‘Mudbound’ will make the audience ask questions about racism.
The 46-year-old singer-turned-actress admits some people will want to “hide” from the tough topics tackled by director Dee Rees in the film – which follows the unlikely relationship between two men, one white and one black, as they find common ground after they return from World War Two – but she wants others to delve deeper and explore wider societal issues.
Speaking about her new film at the 61st BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Cinema, in London’s Leicester Square, on Thursday (05.10.17), she said: “This is going to have audiences asking themselves some questions, the ones that are ready to face it, not the ones who are ready to hide or continue to hide.
“I think people are far beyond wanting to hide now, it’s all out there and the discussions need to be had, what are we? Who are we? At the end of the day, we are one.”
The ‘Family Affair’ singer hopes the film will have an even greater impact now, in the wake of events such as the ongoing Black Lives Matter campaign and the violent clash between white supremacists and anti-protesters in Charlottesville in the summer.
She said: “I’m very conscious of that, when we were shooting the movie there were a lot of things going on that make you say ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ but now it’s even gotten worse.
“So I’m really happy that this movie is about how love can actually be the thing, and is the thing, that is going to save us if we let it.
“When I saw it at Sundance [Film Festival] it was urgent, it was urgent right away, and when I was watching it I was like wow this is going to be, I hope, something that really helps people.”
Blige stars alongside Carey Mulligan, Jason Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund and Jason Clarke in the movie, which is based on Hillary Jordan’s novel of the same name.

Jackie Chan: Rush Hour 4 is happening

OHMYGOSSIP — Jackie Chan thinks ‘Rush Hour 4’ could start filming as early as next year.
The 63-year-old actor – who plays Chief Inspector Lee in the action comedy franchise alongside Chris Tucker as Detective James Carter – has revealed a sequel to the hit movies is most likely to happen.
He said: “For the last 20 years, I’ve tried different [characters]. A few years ago, Karate Kid. There was supposed to be a Karate Kid 2 but the script isn’t right. Several years later they want to do it and I say, ‘You still want to do Karate Kid? No, Karate Men.’ They’re taller than me now! Rush Hour, you can do any time … Next year!
“For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed. The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we’ll] probably start. If … Chris Tucker agrees.”
‘Rush Hour 3’ – the last of the previous instalments – was released in 2007 and Chan insists the delay in releasing a fourth one is not about money but instead about scheduling.
Speaking on Power 106’s The Cruz Show, he said: “It’s not about money! It’s about [having the] time to make. Otherwise, ‘Rush Hour 4’, we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4.'”
Tucker had previously weighed in about the possibility of doing a fourth movie, revealing it was being looked into.
Speaking back in 2012, he said: “Rush Hour 4, we’re looking into it, me and Jackie. We’re trying to get it going, so we’re developing something, so hopefully we’ll get something in.”
‘Rush Hour’ follows the story of Hong Kong Detective Inspector Lee and wisecracking Detective James Carter, who team up to solve crimes after being shunned by both the FBI and the LAPD.

Karen Gillan says the Avengers movies are the ‘longest shoot ever’

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan says filming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers 4’ back-to-back has felt like “the longest shoot in the world”.
The 29-year-old actress plays the role of Nebula in the Marvel movies and she’s admitted that her latest on-set experience of working with directors Joe and Anthony Russo has been an exhausting process.
She shared: “So this is the longest shoot in the world. It’s been going since January, and it goes right up until December. And then it goes into reshoots – like immediate, more additional photography –
next year.
“So it’s like an ongoing thing, which is really cool, because it feels like a whole family now.”
Despite committing so much time to the Marvel movies, Karen has been “sworn to secrecy” about the script.
However, the Scottish actress did reveal that her character’s ongoing storyline “comes to a head” in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ film.
She told Den of Geek: “I’ve been sworn to secrecy. But I definitely think that all of what we’ve been building towards, with all the backstories between Nebula and Thanos, is definitely going to come to a head in the ‘Avengers’ film, and she’s definitely going to confront all of those traumatic memories.
“I definitely think she is going to have her moment.”
Meanwhile, Karen is also poised to appear in ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, which is due out later this year.
And she revealed the movie will feature one particularly lengthy action scene.
Of her preparation for the film, Karen said: “I sort of trained up through the Marvel system on that. And so when it came to this, I was like, ‘I can do this,’ but I was not ready for the amount of fighting that I had to do. I mean it was just hard work.
“There was one particular fight scene in the movie that is so long, and I had to do the whole thing in one-take. You wouldn’t know it’s one-take from the way it’s edited, but we definitely shot the whole thing in a oner at one point.”

Duncan James soiled himself live on TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Duncan James once soiled himself live on television.
The 39-year-old singer-turned actor rose to fame as one of the quartet Blue – which also features Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa – but after the band split in 2004, Duncan was forced to get a job hosting the ‘National Lottery Live’ on BBC1.
But he has admitted his television gig didn’t go according to plan as he accidentally pooped himself while on camera and had to desperately try to hide it from the nation.
In the boy group’s new autobiography ‘Blue: All Rise’, Duncan – who came out as gay in 2012 – explained: “What follows is arguably the most embarrassing incident of my life. I farted and, somehow, was unable to stop following through.
“So I stood there, a boyband star turned prime-time TV entertainer gazing out at the country’s biggest audience, eating their dinners, and I’m having a panic attack, secretly gay, taking anti-depressants to cope with stress and I have just soiled my underpants, live on air.”
Duncan – who joined ‘Hollyoaks’ in 2016 – has openly spoken about his battle with drugs while being part of the band and recalled a moment in the book where he was found on “a roundabout in the middle of a main road” after he was given chocolate laced with magic mushrooms by a crew member.
He said: “He kept saying ‘just one square’. Well, within minutes I’d had two squares and Lee had eaten the rest.
“Trying desperately to find a spot where we wouldn’t be recognised, we ended up on a roundabout in the middle of a main road. It felt like days we were sitting on that roundabout, although it was probably 20 minutes.”

Ulrika Jonsson had Alzheimer’s scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Ulrika Jonsson thought she had Alzheimer’s Disease.
The 50-year-old television presenter was convinced she had the early signs of the neurological illness, which affects multiple brain functions, after she began to lose her memory, but she was relieved to find out her forgetfulness was down to menopause.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Friday (06.10.17), she said: “Depression has been a regular-ish feature of my life.
“I felt like I was going into a very dark episode and I had no warning of it beforehand, there was nothing that would have given me any signs towards it. And then came the most unimaginable anxiety that I’ve not known before, like proper panic…
“That was really scary, being mid-sentence and forgetting the noun or the word was awful. I actually took my friend aside and I said to her that I was really worried that I could be getting early onset Alzheimer’s and she said ‘Oh no love, that’s just the menopause’ … You just think it’s an ageing thing, you go off sex, you put on weight, you think I’m uglier…at least that’s how you feel.”
However, Ulrika has admitted her husband Brian Monet has been “very understanding” about her change and has been really supportive towards her.
She added: “My husband is very understanding, very patient, and I think there were moments where he would just look at me as if to go: ‘Woah.’ Like, ‘Where did that come from?’ and then I’d go: ‘I’m going through some big changes.’ And I told my kids about it too so they’d know why I was acting a bit strange.”

Ruth Langsford has Strictly meltdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford had an emotional meltdown after her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ rehearsal last night (05.10.17) because she still can’t master the steps of her dance.
The ‘This Morning presenter – who has been struggling to settle into the ballroom and latin show – is set to take to the floor with her professional partner Anton du Beke at the weekend to perform their romantic rumba, but she has admitted there’s no love between her and the routine at the moment because she can’t remember the footage.
Speaking in a video uploaded to her Twitter account last night, the 57-year-old star said: “I had a real meltdown at ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ training with Anton today. Well not meltdown as in anger, I just started crying.”
She accompanied the clip with the caption: “OMG….I actually cried at training today with @mrantondubeke Awks!! He was lovely about it of course. Flippin’ Rumba!”
However, it’s hardly surprising that Ruth is struggling as she hurt her hamstring while preparing for her routine last week and is still dealing with the consequences of it.
Speaking earlier this week, she said: “It’s not great, it’s still strapped up.”
But, despite her lack of spirit, Ruth has admitted her husband Eamonn Holmes – who she married in 2010 – has been very supportive while she’s been off training.
She explained: “I have to say, Eamonn is doing a lot of this in tongue-in-cheek – he’s so supportive. He’s just there, asking me what I need and so he booked Sunday lunch. He has a gin and tonic and a bowl of ice for my feet, so he’s been very supportive. Not much time for love. Not time for that.
“He’s even bought a cardboard cut out of me. He calls himself a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ widow … I said to him: ‘Excuse me, do you remember when you went into the jungle – you know when he went on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ the spin-off show – not one person rung me and said: “Can I bring a casserole round, Ruth?” Nobody does that to women.” It’s like, I’ve disappeared and he’s going to die.”

Brian Conley ‘loving’ Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley wants to remain on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for “as long as possible”.
The 56-year-old comedian – who is the bookies’ favourite to be the next contestant eliminated – insists he is enjoying the competition, despite claims he wants to leave the show, and is hoping he can progress further.
He tweeted: “Just woke to news that I apparently want to be out of strictly what utter bulls**t! I’m loving this & 100% want to stay in as long as poss (sic)”
Brian sparked speculation he might want out of the show earlier this week when he was heard telling his professional partner Amy Dowden “I’ve got another week to go ain’t I?” while on spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ after she warned him not to injure himself.
A Strictly insider told The Sun newspaper: “Brian clearly sees his involvement in the show as pretty short-term.”
Brian survived last week’s dance-off against Chizzy Akudolu and admitted it was a “bittersweet” moment because he has become pals with the ‘Holby City’ actress.
He tweeted: “A bittersweet feeling I should be jumping for joy but its hard I really love Chizzy a kind & lovely lady with a wicked sense of humour x (sic)”
As well as Brian, Reverend Richard Coles is also enjoying his time on the show after shedding a stone due to the tough training schedule.
A studio source told the publication: “Richard has lost inches off his waist and the costume department have had to take in several of his outfits. He’s delighted.”
Before the series, he said: “I want to lose two-and-a-half stone and not go to A&E. That’s my main ambition.”

Joe Gill would reject I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Gill would turn down ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ because he’s not as “entertaining” as Adam Thomas.
The 23-year-old actor departed ‘Emmerdale’ this week after four years on the soap, but viewers are unlikely to see him on the reality TV show anytime soon because his former co-star – who finished third on the show last year – is a “tough act to follow”.
Speaking to the Sun Online, he said: “I can’t see myself doing that, and Adam’s a very hard act to follow.
“Entertainment-wise, I don’t think you could get much better than that really, so I think whoever goes in after him has got a tough act to follow.”
Joe bowed out of ‘Emmerdale’ in dramatic scenes on Thursday night (05.10.17) when his character Finn Barton was shot by his mother Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney).
Following the emotional scenes, Joe thanked his fans and the cast and crew of the soap for their support over the years.
In a note he posted on Twitter, he wrote: “Earlier this year I made the very tough decision to leave the show in order to pursue other challenges.
“The 4 years I have spent in Emmerdale have been the best of my life and I couldn’t have asked for better people to be around.
“Thank you so much to the production team, the crew, the cast and of course my on screen family.
“It is something I will always look at with great pride when I think of the show and the character I played.
“And thank you to the viewers for your constant support, it has meant so much. Keep watching this week!
“Cheers, Joe x (sic)”

Chantelle Connelly to return to Geordie Shore

OHMYGOSSIP — Chantelle Connelly has returned to ‘Geordie Shore’.
The 27-year-old reality TV star rubbed her cast mates up the wrong way last year when she branded them “two-faced snakes” after she sensationally quit the show mid-way through filming the summer special in Greece, but it looks like there’s some unfinished business there as she has agreed to re-enter the famous house this year.
Taking to her Twitter account last night (05.10.17), the blonde beauty said: “Who would of thought me returning back to @mtvgeordieshore (sic).”
She then updated her bio to read: “Castmember of Geordie Shore”.
Although Chantelle is making her way back to the house for no doubt an explosive showdown with former rival Chloe Ferry – who she claimed “stabbed her in the back” last year – not everyone has been invited back for the new series as Marty McKenna has claimed he’s been “sacked” – without being informed by show bosses.
The 23-year-old reality TV star – who has appeared on the boozy series since last year – discovered he’d been dropped by the programme last month following his suspension earlier this year, but he’s fuming because he found out through the grape vine rather than bosses telling him to his face that they’ve decided to axe him.
Taking to his Twitter account at the time, Marty said: “So I won’t be going back to @mtvgeordieshore as I’ve been sacked according to a few people. F***** in thing is a liftin beg from @mtvex.”
He later added: “Yeah mate funny how everyone else know before f****** me. (sic)”
The hunk was removed from the infamous house in May after he and his co-star Scotty T infuriated bosses with their erratic behaviour and, as a consequence, they were banned from joining the rest of the cast in Italy for the summer special.

Stephanie Pratt met her nephew on FaceTime

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Pratt met her baby nephew on FaceTime.
The ‘Made In Chelsea’ star revealed that she and her boyfriend, ‘Love Island’ contestant Jonny Mitchell, were both introduced to Gunnar Stone – the son of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag – over FaceTime following his birth on October 2.
The blonde beauty told The Sun Online: “There are no words. He is the cutest, sweetest, most lovely little boy I’ve ever seen.
“I’ve only seen him on FaceTime, alongside Jonny, but I can see Spencer and Heidi are so happy. I’m hoping to go over there [to the US] this month to see him with Jonny.
“Even with three hours of sleep they’re so happy. I’ve ever seen them so ecstatic.”
Stephanie also revealed that Gunnar looks like a mix of his parents characteristics.
The reality TV star explained: “Heidi and Spencer both look so alike so it’s hard to tell [who he looks more like]! Blonde hair, blue eyes – I can’t tell them apart. And Gunnar is the same!
“They’ll pretend to be strict, but they’ll be proper softies! I’ll probably be stricter!”
For the moment, Stephanie isn’t in a rush to have a baby of her own – but she admitted things could change when she meets Gunnar in person.
She also admitted she’s currently loving life with Jonny.
Stephanie shared: “I’m really excited about it.
“Of course my dad went mad when he heard I was going to Bali with a stranger, but we had the best time. We laughed the whole time.”

Monty Panesar signs up to Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Monty Panesar has reportedly signed up to ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The former England cricketer has had somewhat of a turbulent time over the past few years as he’s openly battled with a mental illness and watched his marriage crumble before his eyes in 2013, but the sportsman is ready to show the nation that he’s stronger than ever and has agreed to take part in the skating reboot next year.
A source told The Sun Online: “Monty thinks ‘Dancing On Ice’ will show he’s still got that fight in him – as well as keeping him super fit.”
The 35-year-old star – who was sacked from the Brighton cricket team four years ago when he urinated on bouncers during a boozy night on the town in Sussex – reportedly took a little bit of persuasion to sign up to the dangerous winter show, but bosses are no doubt thrilled with their success as he’s previously turned down the likes of ‘The Jump’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ in the past.
Although the line up is yet to be confirmed, it’s believed Love Island’s Kem Cetinay has agreed to slip on his skating shoes and hit the ice, Kim Kardashian West’s ex-boyfriend Ray J is said to be in talks and model Alex Gerrard has signed up.
Details of the reboot are being kept relatively under wraps but Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – who fronted the original show together from 2006 until 2011 – have been confirmed as the hosts, while Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – who coached the competitors on the original – will be head judges this time around.
The legendary duo will be joined by Jason Gardiner – who was known as “Mr Nasty” for his acid tongue remarks – on the judging panel, but one person will be noticeably missing from the show as Chris’ partner Karen Barber hasn’t been approached yet.
A source close to Karen – who used to coach and judge – said: “Understandably Karen is disappointed to have not received a contract yet – she loves ‘Dancing On Ice’ and is incredibly excited to see it returning to TV and of course she’d love to be part of it. It’s a bit of a kick in the teeth for Karen to see Jason Gardiner invited back and not her.”

Alexandra Burke left with cut lip after Strictly rehearsal went wrong

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke was left with a “cut lip” after she bumped heads with Gorka Márquez during a dress rehearsal for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 29-year-old singer was rehearsing her Pasa Doble with her professional partner ahead of the latin and ballroom show and the pair managed to knock into each other, causing Alexandra to injure her lip.
Speaking to Zoë Ball on ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’, she shared: “In the dress run, not many people know this, but we really did butt heads. I was left with a massive cut lip. We were that into it! We were so passionate into doing just the dress run because we had our clothes on. Well, not so much me!”
However, their performance on the night went off without a hitch and they managed a huge score of 36 points.
It comes after Alexandra insisted her boyfriend Josh Ginnelly doesn’t mind her getting up close and personal with Gorka on ‘Strictly’ because he’s used to seeing her kiss other men.
She shared: “Gorka is a brilliant teacher and probably one of the only people I’ve met with more energy that me. We trained 10 hours a day for the paso and doing him proud meant everything to me.
“It’s a good thing that my boyfriend is used to seeing me on stage with other men – when I first met him I was kissing two guys a night in ‘Sister Act’ – because I hope Gorka and I get the chance to dance many, many more [weeks].”
And it’s not just Gorka that Alexandra wants to make proud as she wants to do well by her late mother Melissa Bell, who died in August aged just 53.
She said recently: “My being on the show was a dream of hers, as well as mine, so doing the best I can on Strictly means a lot to me. My mum was my biggest critic. And she has turned me into a perfectionist; everything I do is for her. So when I step on to that dance floor on Saturday night I want to do the best I can and make her proud.”

Joe Gill leaves Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Gill has thanked ‘Emmerdale’ viewers for their “constant support”, after his character Finn Barton was killed off.
The 23-year-old actor bowed out of the popular ITV soap when Finn Barton – whom he had played for four years – passed away during Thursday’s (05.10.17) episode, after he finally succumbed to injuries he sustained when his mother Emma shot him earlier this week.
Now, in a note posted to Twitter, Joe has revealed he had made the “very tough decision” to leave the Yorkshire Dales months ago, and thanked the cast and crew for giving him the “best” four years of his life.
He wrote: “Earlier this year I made the very tough decision to leave the show in order to pursue other challenges.
Meanwhile, Joe spoke to Digital Spy shortly before his exit, and explained that the decision to walk away from the soap had been in his mind since February.
He explained: “I spoke to our producer Iain MacLeod in late February. I knew that by the end of this contract, I’d have been on the show for four years. I’m very proud of the work that I’ve done on the character of Finn and I’ve really enjoyed working with everyone, but creatively, I felt that my time on the show had naturally come to an end.
“I’d just like to play a different character now and that was the only reason I’ve left. I absolutely loved my time on ‘Emmerdale’ and I’ve not got a bad word to say about the place. Plus, they always say you should leave on a high!”

Spencer Matthews to quit reality TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews is quitting reality TV.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star turns 30 next year and thinks the time is right to focus on more serious pursuits, so his stint on ‘Five Star Hotel’ – which sees reality stars attempt to be hoteliers – will be his final true life show.
He said: “Doing ‘Five Star Hotel’ is really fun but you find yourself wondering why you’re still doing reality TV at my age, to be honest. So I’d say this will be my last reality show. I’d like to do more presenting work, conceptualise my own ideas and maybe start a production company. I’ve always thought when you turn 30 that’s when you become a real adult.”
And after finding love with Vogue Williams, 31, when they took part in ‘The Jump’ earlier this year, the party-loving star thinks it’s time to settle down and lead a quieter life.
He said: “I’m 30 next year and I’ve always thought that would be a sensible age to hang up your boots – it just came a year early. Vogue and I fell in love after ‘The Jump’ and I don’t think either of us was expecting it.
“Quite a few of my friends have got engaged and of course it makes you think. I just really respect Vogue, she’s a hard-working woman who doesn’t take any nonsense.
“I’ve had my fair share of fun and found myself a really lovely woman, it would be a great shame to mess it up and lose her, so I just don’t see the point.”
And Spencer thinks his past relationships – including with fellow ‘MIC’ stars Caggie Dunlop, Louise Thompson and Lauren Hutton – went wrong partly due to his desire to show good TV.
He told Closer magazine: “I don’t have hard feelings against any of my exes.
“When you’re making reality TV at a young age your head is all over the place and you’re keen to make as exciting a show as possible and unfortunately that can result in hurting people’s feelings. But I think everyone has grown up now.”

Willem Dafoe: Horror directors can make super hero films

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Dafoe believes horror filmmakers make great directors for superhero movies.
The 62-year-old actor starred as the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s 2002 ‘Spider-Man’ movie and is set to jump back into the comic book genre in James Wan’s ‘Aquaman’.
Raimi made his name on demonic cult classic ‘ The Evil Dead’, which was released in 1981, whilst Wan earner his big screen spurs directing 2004’s ‘Saw’ and creating ‘The Conjuring’ franchise and Dafoe insists their background on fight films proved invaluable when they tackled their respective superheroes.
Speaking to Collider, Dafoe said: “I grew up on horror. Horror is cool because it can be a popular form and it can be a very artful form and that’s rare that a genre allows that. Really fun, inventive directors come out of horror often. I wouldn’t say I’m a horror movie aficionado, but I appreciate them. Those directors in particular, James Wan, when you see his horror movies, you know there is a director there and that was very appealing and evident on ‘Aquaman’. You see a kind of discipline, a kind of precision in viewing his films and being on set; he’s very precise and aware of storytelling tricks.
“He knows film language, Raimi knew film language. They came from modest, low-budget movie that you could tell these stories differently.
“Horror is a really good platform to mould these guys with good film language; it’s a good genre to strut their stuff. And superhero films are a good place to strut those horror influences, I think.”
Dafoe also believes the two filmmakers have similar levels of enthusiasm for their work and he’s enjoyed working with them both very much.
He added: “Something else that Wan and Raimi have in common is that these feel like personal films of theirs, just genuine enthusiasm for those very particular stories that they’re telling for the studio. Perhaps that comes from horror as well. Horror directors have some major enthusiasm for what they’re making.”
