Ross Kemp breaks toe

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Kemp has broken his toe.
The 53-year-old investigative journalist spent the whole day at the hospital yesterday (10.10.17) after he snapped one of his metatarsal bones in his left foot while practicing his flying kick in his martial arts training earlier this week.
Taking to his Twitter account last night, the actor uploaded a photograph of him posing for a photograph with the medical team at the hospital and accompanied it with the caption: “At the hospital with my broken toe today. Thanks to everyone there and to everyone working in the NHS. You are brilliant (sic).”
His hospital dash came less than 24 hours after he posted a picture of his bruised and swollen big toe with one of the bones poking out the side on the social networking site.
He quipped: “Up with the crows to train today. Lesson learned…make sure you are the right distance when doing a flying kick! (sic)”
This is the second time Ross has rushed to the hospital in the space of two weeks after he took his wife Renee O’Brien in to deliver their twin daughters Ava and Kitty.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star announced that he had become a father for the third time at the end of September and, although he likes to keep details of his family life close to his chest, he did revealed their sweet monikers and share a shot of them online.
Alongside the photograph of Renee and the newborn girls, he said at the time : “Mum, Ava and Kitty doing well! Dad overjoyed. Thanks to all at the hospital! (sic).”
The girls join Ross and Renee’s other son, who was born in 2015.
The investigative journalist also has a boy with his ex-partner Nicola Coleman.

Megan McKenna and Pete WIcks hold showdown talks

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks had an awkward face-to-face showdown in an Essex restaurant earlier this week.
The 25-year-old reality star and Pete met for the first time since their split to shoot new scenes for ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, and an insider has admitted their encounter was noticeably uncomfortable for the duo.
The source told The Sun Online: “This was their first scene together since their split.
“They spent time talking about the problems that they’ve faced and how they’re going to move forward.”
Although a romantic reconciliation doesn’t seem to be on the cards for the time being, the insider claimed the pair – who shared a surprisingly friendly-looking embrace – “could still get back together” at some stage in the future.
The aspiring country singer and Pete’s last attempt to make their romance work only lasted four months.
But, at the time, a source refused to rule out the duo rekindling their relationship further down the line.
The insider previously explained: “Megan and Pete have given their relationship everything – but it still hasn’t been enough
“After an amazing start they have been arguing a lot again and neither of them can handle the stress and pressure of constant rows.
“They are constantly falling out – there’s no guarantee that they won’t rekindle again.”
By contrast, another source claimed Megan was keen to date someone more famous than Pete.
The insider said: “Megan isn’t even thinking about dating right now.
“But she knows that when she does move on from Pete, she needs to date someone as famous as her – or more famous – who understands the pressures of her career, plus the fact she’ll be flying all over the place as her music career takes off.
“She needs someone who’s not intimidated by her success.”

Gemma Collins is a ‘white witch’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins thinks she’s a white witch.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is convinced she can speak with ghosts and is keen to get her own spin-off show whereby the cameras capture her connect with the dead.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper: “I see ghosts all the time, all the time. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve had this affinity to connect with spirits and talk to them.
“It’s just something I’ve always been able to. I am actually a white witch. I can do Tarot cards and all that. I need to talk to some TV producers about doing my own show on it.
“My dream show is to have this haunted house and get some celebrities in there and then I can do there Tarot cards and speak to the dead with them.”
However, there will no doubt be a few screams on the potential show as last year the 36-year-old star almost quit ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ when she thought she saw an eerie figure lurking in the mirror while she and her fellow housemates were trying to sleep.
She said at the time: “I’ve just seen something really f***ing scary in the mirror – it’s someone peeping through the curtain. Oh my god open that fucking door now. It was in the glass f***ing looking at me – it’s f***ing shit scary in here tonight.”
And Gemma is set to cross paths with some other creepy things – albeit not ghostly – next month as she is reportedly being lined up to go back into the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle following her failed attempt back in 2014 when she left the camp after just 72 hours because of “medical issues.”
A source said recently: “Gemma has been backed by Dec [Donnelly, who presents the show], he thought she was really good [last time she was on] and he told Gemma she would be great if she came back to the show. She’s riding on the crest of a wave right now – she’s doing well on ‘TOWIE’, she massive on social media after all the memes and and everyone is a bit obsessed with her.
“She in talks to sign up but it’s early days. Nothing is set in stone yet.”

Marnie Simpson wants to elope

OHMYGOSSIP — Marnie Simpson wants to elope.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star is currently dating former Stereo Kicks singer Casey Johnson and she can see herself following the likes of singer Charlotte Church, who it was recently revealed had tied the knot with long-term partner Jonathan Powell in secret.
She said: “It’s lovely that Charlotte Church married Jonathan Powell in secret. I’d definitely do something like that. I can see myself running away to Las Vegas for a quickie ceremony and I reckon Casey would be up for it too.”
The 25-year-old star got together with Casey, 22, on new reality show ‘Single AF’ but was hesitant about getting involved with him because she thought he was “too young”.
She said: “I did think he was gorgeous looking but he’s the opposite of the sort of guy I would normally go for, so I was kind of battling it. I usually like lads who are much older, so I wasn’t sure how I felt in the beginning. I always thought that he looked too young for us and he just wasn’t for me. But then I fell for him! I couldn’t help it.”
Things are getting serious between the couple and Marnie admitted she would even consider quitting ‘Geordie Shore’ for the sake of their romance.
Asked if she’d leave for Casey, she told Star magazine: “If I felt like something serious had happened then of course, yeah.
“I’ve always said if it was causing problems or if my relationship grew into something serious then I would. But I wouldn’t want to quit unless I had to.”

Kem Cetinay opens up about depression

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay spent years “completely depressed” and once felt as though he “didn’t want to live [his] life any more”.
The ‘Love Island’ star was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression after an operation to remove his tonsils went wrong leaving him with kidney failure aged 14, and there were times when he would refuse to leave his bedroom for days.
Speaking about being on “strong” anti-depressants, he said: “I felt drowsy, it was scary. I felt drugged up, to be honest. They were strong.
“There was a point in the three-year spell I wasn’t really living, I wasn’t doing anything. I was completely depressed.
“I had thoughts that I didn’t want to live my life any more.
“I felt there was no value to it. I lost all the things I enjoyed doing.”
Kem’s anxiety issues began when he was 10 and he became “obsessive” over his mum Figen after she was diagnosed with septicaemia and went into a coma.
The 21-year-old hunk was a semi-professional footballer during his youth but his talent started to fade when he “lost all [his] confidence” after he went under the knife, and he refused to go out in public, once spending all 14 days of a Mexico holiday in his hotel room.
He said: “After the operation – I’d lost so much weight – my football started going downhill so I lost all my confidence.
“I thought everyone was looking at me and it just escalated. I refused to go out to public places.
“I started having to leave lessons because I felt like I was having a panic attack.
“Then it started going from once a week to every day, then I started to refuse to go to school. It was then they decided they wanted me to see someone.”
The reality TV star – who is dating Amber Davies after they met on the latest ‘Love Island’ series, which they won – saw nine therapists before one finally helped him turn his life around, and aged 20 he managed to pluck up the courage to speak to girls.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he added: “When I said in the villa I’d never had a girlfriend, this was a big part of it. I never knew how to speak to girls, I never had the confidence.
“The year before ‘Love Island’ was the only one where I felt more comfortable talking to people in general.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Williams has joined producer Dom Santry to launch a new film company Daisy Chain Productions.
The 20-year-old actress – who is best known for portraying Arya Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’ – has joined the production business with fellow actor Bill Milner.

Garrett Hedlund wanted Mudbound to be real not sentimental

OHMYGOSSIP — Garrett Hedlund says a huge effort was made not to make ‘Mudbound’ a “sentimental” film.
The 33-year-old actor stars in the new Dee Rees drama about the unlikely friendship between two World War Two veterans – one black and one white – in Mississippi and Hedlund admitted the biggest challenge was to make the plot and movie “real”.
Speaking to C For Men magazine, Hedlund said: “We shot ‘Mudbound’ in just a handful of weeks in Louisiana. We did our damnedest not to make it sentimental. We wanted it to be real.
“The way Dee works, with these long shots on the actors’ faces, you empathise with them. You feel like you’re in there in the story with them.”
‘Mudbound’ – which also stars Carey Mulligan, Mary J. Blige and Jason Mitchell – is based on Hillary Jordan’s novel of the same name and follows the two vets as they return from battle and find common ground as their families face difficulty in their local community.
Hedlund’s co-star Mulligan recently admitted she signed up for the film in the hope the director could turn the story into something “big and epic”.
Speaking at the 61st BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Cinema, in London’s Leicester Square, on Thursday (10.05.17), she said: “The reason I wanted to get involved in this film was primarily because I wanted to work with Dee. After reading the book and the script, I wanted to see if Dee could do what the book inspires and make the small, sentimental story into something big and epic.”
Blige also admitted she hopes her the movie will make the audience ask questions about racism.
The 46-year-old singer-turned-actress admits some people will want to “hide” from the tough topics tackled in the film but she wants others to delve deeper and explore wider societal issues.
She said: “This is going to have audiences asking themselves some questions, the ones that are ready to face it, not the ones who are ready to hide or continue to hide. I think people are far beyond wanting to hide now, it’s all out there and the discussions need to be had, what are we? Who are we? At the end of the day, we are one.”

Michael Fassbender says Assassin’s Creed was too serious

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Fassbender believes ‘Assassin’s Creed’ was unpopular with critics because it “took itself too seriously”.
The 40-year-old actor starred as leading man Cal Lynch in the 2016 movie adaptation of the popular video game series, but despite grossing more than $200 million worldwide it was poorly rated by critics and Fassbender thinks it suffered by spending too much time setting up the somewhat complicated story.
In a recent interview with Movie ‘n’ Co, he said: “For sure, it wasn’t ideal. I think we missed an opportunity there a little bit. So we’ll wait and see what Ubisoft are coming up with. But right now, I don’t know. I would make it more entertaining, that’s really the main note. The feeling of the film, I think it took itself too seriously and I would get to the action a lot quicker. I think there’s three beginnings of the film, which is a mistake.”
‘Assassin’s Creed’ was directed by Justin Kurzel and starred Fassbender alongside Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Charlotte Rampling and Michael K. Williams.
The film follows Cal who travels back in time to 15-Century Spain through a revolutionary technology that unlocks the genetic memories contained in his DNA.
Taking on the identity of Aguilar de Nerha, a distant relative and member of the Assassins – a secret society which protects free will from the Templar Order – Cal starts gaining the knowledge and skills needed to fight the oppressive organisation in the present day.
Before the film was released last year, the actor admitted he thought fans of the game franchise would enjoy it.
He said: “I’m very confident that the gamers will appreciate what we’ve done. There are things that we absolutely wanted to respect, but I think they want you to make some bold choices. The gamers are a pretty fun bunch and they’re very passionate from my experience of interacting with them and they like to be surprised.”

Carrie Fisher features in new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Fisher features in the new trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
The iconic actress – who starred as Princess Leia in the sci-fi movie series – passed away in December last year shortly after she stopped breathing during a transatlantic flight, and ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ will mark her final on-screen appearance.
Carrie is joined in the new trailer by Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, with the teaser footage lasting a little over two minutes.
In the trailer, Daisy’s character, Rey, is seen developing her lightsaber skills with the help of Luke Skywalker.
During one particular scene, she says: “Inside it’s always been there, but now it’s awake. And I need help.”
Carrie’s appearance in the trailer comes shortly after Mark – who plays Luke Skywalker – revealed she was supposed to take centre stage in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’.
Mark said that although fans will “love” her role in the upcoming film, he admitted movie bosses have had to create a new ending for her character.
He said: “You’re going to really love her in [‘Last Jedi’].
“I know they’re going to try and find a way to close her story in [Episode] Nine that gives her the respect she deserves, because [Han Solo] was more prominent in [‘The Force Awakens’], Luke’s a little more prominent in ‘Eight’, and certainly Leia was meant to be more prominent in ‘Nine’.
“Worldwide, everyone feels that gap she left. But we all have to hang in there.”

Sylvester Stallone to direct Creed 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone will direct and produce ‘Creed 2’.
The 71-year-old Hollywood star confirmed he will be working on the movie in 2018 and admitted he was excited about teaming up with “incredibly talented” Michael B. Jordan – who played main character Adonis “Donnie” Johnson Creed in the original – once again.
In a caption of a picture of the pair posted on his Instagram, Stallone wrote: “Looking forward to directing and Producing The incredibly talented Michael B Jordan in CREED 2 next year … One more Round ! #creed2 #mgm #fighting #workout #exercise #boxing (sic)”
Stallone co-produced the first ‘Creed’ movie – which was released in November 2015 – but it was directed by Ryan Coogler.
The motion picture is a sequel to the ‘Expendables’ star’s ‘Rocky’ film franchise, in which he plays boxer Rocky Balboa.
Stallone reprised his role as the Italian Stallion in ‘Creed’, in which his iconic character was the trainer and mentor for boxer Adonis, the son of heavyweight champion Apollo Creed – Rocky’s most famous opponent – who was portrayed by Carl Weathers in the first four ‘Rocky’ movies.
Last month, Stallone hinted ‘Creed 2’ will start production next year.
He posted a screenshot from the first movie and wrote: “Getting stronger !!! 2018 #Creed 2 #mgm #fitness #Rocky (sic)”
In July, Stallone teased ‘Creed 2’ could be inspired by ‘Rocky IV’ and shared a photoshopped movie poster in which Adonis stands toe-to-toe with Russian boxer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) who was responsible for killing his father Apollo (Carl Weathers) in the ring in the 1985 film.
He captioned the picture: “Here’s a chance to stretch your imagination … HISTORY WILL ALWAYS REPEAT ITSELF IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, JUST GOT TO BE READY! … Sins of the Father…. #creed2 # agentnickyc (sic)”

Michelle Keegan didn’t sign up for third season of Our Girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan had no choice but to star in the third season of ‘Our Girl’.
The 30-year-old actress has reprised her role as Georgie Lane in the popular BBC One programme and, although she didn’t realise another instalment was on the cards, she was forced to go ahead with the upcoming series because she had already signed her contract agreeing to take part in future episodes.
Speaking on BBC Radio One Breakfast Show with host Nick Grimshaw, the brunette beauty said: “I wasn’t 100 per cent there would be another series but I signed the option for there to be another.”
And not only was the former ‘Coronation Street’ star oblivious to a follow-up, she also didn’t know the show would double the number of episodes made.
She added: “Obviously the first time it was for five episodes but this time it was for 12 so it’s overly doubled.
“I didn’t know that at the time either. It’s been a long, long filming schedule. I was away for three months last time and this time I was in South Africa for three months and then I had three weeks off then I was in Malaysia for three months.
“So over all I was away for seven months. It was a long time being away from home. I had to do it, the contract was signed. Book me a flight.”
Michelle – who is married to former ‘The Only Way IS Essex’ star Mark Wright – has admitted she bruises like a “peach”, and after completing her own stunts for the show, she has been left battered and bruised “from head to toe”.
Speaking about the physical impact filming has had on her, she said: “We have done a lot of explosions and I’ve done the occasional stunt and I bruise like a peach so my body is bruised from head to toe. There was one with an explosion behind us and we had to get the timing perfect because the mats were buried under sand. The pressure was horrible. Everyone was filming on phones so the pressure was on.”

Joe McFadden is obsessed with fake tan

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe McFadden has developed an obsession with fake tan.
The ‘Holby City’ hunk – who is known for playing Raf di Lucca in the medical drama – has been competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the past three weeks and has admitted he’s thoroughly enjoying wearing the glitzy outfits and getting his weekly spray tan.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: “I’ve had a couple of spray tans, and it’s surprising how quickly you get used to them. They have a colour chart that you can choose from, so I went for ‘double dark’. But when I had the second one done, I was convinced it wasn’t dark enough! It’s a slippery slope where you’re in danger of taking it too far. I absolutely love all the costumes too. You go in on a Saturday morning for a fitting, and by the afternoon they’ve produced an amazing outfit that has been sewn together and covered in sequins. It’s incredible what a great job the team can do.”
The 42-year-old actor has already proved he’s one of the front runners in the competition and is hoping he can stay in the ballroom and latin show for a long time.
He explained: “I’m looking forward to doing more Latin, but maybe that will change across the weeks – or week! Getting through the first elimination was my goal, and I just want to enjoy the rest of my experience. It’s a shame it’s going so quickly!”
But Joe and his professional partner Katya Jones are struggling to find enough time to practice, so the brunette beauty has been travelling to the ‘Holby City’ set every week.
He said: “Katya has been coming to the ‘Holby City’ studios,. and we’ve been grabbing some practice while I’ve been on set.
“I knew ‘Strictly’ would be difficult, but I wasn’t prepared for how fast it moves. It sounds like we have a week to learn a routine, but it’s only three-and-a-half days – after the professionals have their own separate rehearsal on Monday. Before we know it, we’re in the studio on Friday showing people what we’ve come up with!”

John Anderson wants to bring back Gladiators

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiators’ could be set to make a return.
The hit TV show, which saw contestants go up against body builders in a series of rounds, hasn’t aired for over 17 years, but John Anderson – who refereed the contests – is desperate to get the programme back on the small screen.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Tuesday (10.10.17), John said: “I would love to do it again. They [the gladiators] were very good, professional and easy to work with. Everything they did they were supposed to do.
QThey were delightful. I am still coaching athletics these days and been to the Olympic games. It’s a joy to work with them who want to be the best they can be. Everyone wants to be the best they can be.”
John was joined on the show by a number of the Gladiators including Helen O’Reilly [Panther], James Crossley [Hunter], Diane Youdale [Jet] and Warren Furman [Ace] and he’s not the only one who would be happy to return to the show.
James, who was the youngest Gladiator on the show, said: “If I got a bit of notice because it’s a very different body training. It’s very specific events. We would have runners and sprinters but if I was given a few weeks, I would do it again.”
The show was presented by Ulrika Jonsson during its run between 1992 until 2000 alongside John Fashanu (1992-1996 & 1999) and Jeremy Guscott (1997 to 1998), with John Sachs providing the commentary on each event.
The male and female contestants would compete in the same events up until the show was given a shake up in series six – where the female contenders would play easier games and the men would compete in harder rounds.
Aiming for as many points as they could, the contestant with the highest number of points got a headstart in The Eliminator assault course with every point being worth a second. The winner of The Eliminator would then complete in the next round.

Unfinished Doctor Who story Shada finally completed

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Baker is back as the Fourth Doctor in the finally completed ‘lost’ ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘Shada.
Back in 1979, the adventure was set to be the celebratory end to the seventeenth series of the BBC One sci-fi show, penned by acclaimed ‘Who’ writer Douglas Adams.
It was set in Cambridge and showed the Doctor, his robot dog K9 and his companion Romana team up with retired Time Lord Professor Chronotis to defeat the evil alien Skagra who is attempting to steal the secrets to the prison planet Shada.
However, the serial had to be scrapped when partway through filming when a strike at the BBC meant work had to be abandoned, making ‘Shada’ an almost mythical tale amongst fans of the programme.
BBC Worldwide has now announced that ‘Shada’ is being released as a digital download, and on DVD and Blu-ray, combining the original completed footage with new animated sequences to fill in the gaps.
Baker, 83, and Lalla Ward, 66, have reprised their roles as the Time Lord and companion Romana for the animations as well as other members as the original cast and the actor is delighted that he has finally got the chance to finish the story.
He said: “‘Shada’ was one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories. I have many fond memories of shooting the location scenes in Cambridge, and it was disappointing not to finish the story in studio. I’m so glad that BBC Worldwide have found a way to bring fans a complete visual version.”
‘Shada’ was previously recreated as an animated webcast in 2003, with Eighth Doctor actor Paul McGann taking the lead, and it was also novelised by writer Gareth Roberts in 2012.
It is being produced by the team behind the highly successful and critically acclaimed animation of lost ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The Power of the Daleks’ and lost ‘Dad’s Army’ episode ‘A Stripe For Frazer’.
The team were granted access to nearly seven hours of raw footage from the original 1979 ‘Shada’ shoot from which they are editing the new production from scratch, with all the original film negatives re-scanned in full HD and digitally remastered.
‘Shada’ will be released as a digital download on Friday November 24, and on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday, December 4.
On Saturday, December 2 there will be a special screening of ‘Doctor Who: Shada’ at the BFI Southbank in London.
Further information will be available from bfi.org.uk from Monday October 23.
Tickets for BFI members will be available from Tuesday November 7, and for the public from Tuesday November 14.

Brian Conley angers Strictly co-stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley has reportedly been getting “special treatment” on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 56-year-old comedian has been rubbing his fellow competitors up the wrong way as they feel he’s at an advantage because his brother Alan Conley is a long-time floor manager for the ballroom and latin show and reportedly helps the bosses call all of the shots.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Alan has worked on the show for years and his inevitable closeness to Brian has been putting noses out of joint. There is fury among a group who think Brian is getting special treatment.
“Staying in ‘Strictly’ and doing well is in no small part down to how your clips are edited and the airtime each celebrity gets, so having a family member on staff is bound to help.
“Brian survived the first dance-off against former ‘Holby City’ actress Chizzy Akudolu, despite having been the favourite to go.”
Brian hit the headlines last week after it was reported that he wanted to leave the show when he was heard telling his professional partner Amy Dowden “I’ve got another week to go ain’t I?” while on spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ after she warned him not to injure himself.
However, the funny man – who is the bookies’ favourite to be the next contestant eliminated – insists he is enjoying the competition and is hoping he can progress further.
He tweeted: “Just woke to news that I apparently want to be out of strictly what utter bulls**t! I’m loving this & 100% want to stay in as long as poss (sic)”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will return to screens this weekend on BBC One.
