Mollie King loves her Strictly costumes

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie King is “loving” her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ costumes.
The ‘Hair Down’ singer is currently four weeks into the ballroom and latin show but she’s still enjoying slipping into the crystal-embellished costumes every weekend.
She told OK! magazine: “[Rehearsals are] madness. There is glitter and sparkles everywhere. It feels like a roller coaster…
“I’m loving the dressing up. The other day we had a dress trying on marathon that was incredible. I felt like I was getting ready for a wedding.”
Mollie’s Saturdays bandmate Frankie Bridge previously competed on the show and has advised her pal to enjoy every second of the experience because the weeks will just fly by.
Mollie said “Frankie has told me to enjoy it because it will go really fast, and she was in the final. So I just want to make the most of the weeks I manage to stay in the competition. You have just got to lap up the competition.”
As well as Frankie, Mollie has also been getting support from her fellow ‘Strictly’ contestants.
She said: “We all get on so well. We’re in this What’sApp group and chatting all the time. The other night I didn’t look at my phone – when I picked it up the following morning, I had missed 99 messages.”
Despite her pop background, the 30-year-old star insists her dance experience is very different to what she needs for the show.
She said: “Ballroom is completely different from anything I have ever done before. I am worried about doing all the dances.
“I think my legs will get so tangled doing a Charleston.”

Casey Batchelor in a secret relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Batchelor has been in a secret relationship for “18 months”.
The 33-year-old glamour model has admitted she found love with a mysterious businessman over a year ago, but didn’t tell the public at the time because he unnamed male “likes to keep things private”.
She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “We’ve been together for a while now. I kept quiet about it because he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight and likes us to keep things private.
“But it’s been 18 months now and we’re serious, so I thought it was time to tell Daily Star Sunday readers I’m finally off the market. I’m a bit nervous about everyone finding out because I’ve always been known as the single girl.
“I feel like I might be devastating the dreams of quite a few men!”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant won’t reveal the identity of her new beau – who hails from Kent – but insists the relationship is so serious, the pair have already begun discussing marriage.
She added: “We’ve kind of moved in with each other and we have spoken about marriage. We are very much in love, so we’re going to see what happens.
“He’s really lovely and we get on really well. I think he’s going to be the man I’m going to be with for the rest of my life.”
Meanwhile, Casey did hint at having a boyfriend earlier this year when she revealed she turned down the opportunity to re-enter the infamous ‘Big Brother’ house because she was in the early stages of dating.
She said at the time: “They put the feelers out there. I think they asked Lee [Ryan] and he said no, which is understandable. It would have been good to bring me back in. I don’t know if I would have done it because of the anxiety. And I’ve met someone – it’s early but I’ve met someone. I’m best off not being in there right now because I do end up getting myself into trouble.”

Suranne Jones says amazing time to be actress

OHMYGOSSIP — Suranne Jones thinks now is an “amazing” time to be a TV actress.
The 39-year-old star believes things have progressed hugely since she appeared in detective show ‘Scott & Bailey’ for the first time in 2008 and there are now lots of strong parts for women because people are much more accepting of female-driven shows.
Speaking to Marie Claire, she said: “It’s an amazing time for television, [and] the parts for women my age are great. When we used to promote ‘Scott & Bailey’, series one and two, people were saying, ‘So, this is about two female detectives?’ You would never say, ‘Ah, so this is about two male detectives?’
“It’s outrageous that people said that six years ago. But not one person ever said to me about ‘Doctor Foster’, ‘So, this is about a female doctor?’ ”
The ‘Doctor Foster’ star became a household name playing Karen McDonald in ‘Coronation Street’ and her family were thrilled when she landed a role in the iconic soap.
She said: “Acting was something I always really wanted to do and, when I left school and was old enough to get an agent, ‘Coronation Street’ was like the thing to get into. When I got it, my Grandad Bob and Nana Bertha were like, ‘What?! Oh, my god!’ ”
Despite her acting success, Suranne insists she isn’t naturally talented and has had to work hard to find her “place”.
She said: “There are some people who are naturally talented, who just have it coming out of their ears; they just sparkle with talent. Some people – and I put myself in this category – don’t fit a mould. I always looked a lot older. I was as tall as a giraffe, even at ten, but I found my place and I really worked at it.”

Scarlett Moffatt’s cancer scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt feared she had cancer when she was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy at the age of 11.
The 26-year-old television personality was diagnosed with the condition – which causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in one side of the face – 15 years ago, but feared it could be much worse when a doctor told her the illness can sometimes be an early sign of “acute lymphoblastic leukaemia”.
Writing in her new autobiography ‘Me Life Story: Sofa So Good!’, she said: “We were all crammed in a very small hospital room when my dad started to cry. I had just been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, a facial paralysis.
“The doctor said to me: ‘If you can take your socks and shoes off, Miss Scarlett O’Hara, I just need to explain something to your parents about why we need to do some blood tests. It’s nothing to be scared of, it will only feel like a scratch. We need to do these tests as, on rare occasions, Bell’s palsy can be an early manifestation of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.'”
The former winner of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ – who is set to start working on the show’s spin-off series ‘Extra Camp’ this year – didn’t understand the seriousness of the conversation at first, but finds it “heartbreaking” to look back on.
She added: “I had no idea what any of the words meant. It’s only now I understand why my parents got so upset. My dad had recovered from a rare skin cancer just four years before.
“So the thought of his little girl having tests for that awful C-word – cancer – was heartbreaking. My dad picked up my sock, held it to his eye and started to cry.
“‘Come on, Dad, my socks don’t smell that bad,’ I smiled weakly, trying to cheer him up. Even though I was nervous and confused at what was happening, I just wanted to hear my dad laugh, not cry.”
Luckily, the former ‘Gogglebox’ star was given the all-clear, and her Bell’s palsy cleared up in three months after she was given a strong steroid treatment.
She said: “But only three hours or so later, the doctor came back in to tell us amazing news: ‘Your daughter is fit and healthy – other than the unfortunate case of Bell’s palsy, of course. I’m going to give her strong steroids and it should have cleared within three months.'”

Simon Rimmer’s ‘overwhelming’ Strictly Come Dancing support

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Rimmer has received an “overwhelming” amount of support following his dance to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 54-year-old television chef performed a waltz to the emotional track – which is synonymous with Liverpool FC – during the first week of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition last month.
And he has now revealed he has been receiving “humbling” messages of support from the public, who were particularly moved by the performance’s nod to the 96 football fans – most of them Liverpool supporters – who tragically lost their lives at Sheffield’s Hillsborough stadium in 1989 as a result of being crushed by overcrowding.
Simon – who supports Liverpool and was at the stadium at the time – said: “I couldn’t have done that song without it having huge relevance to Hillsborough. Since then the amount of messages and people coming up to me in the street, it’s been genuinely overwhelming and humbling.
“It’s been quite unbelievable. I’ve got a couple of clubs in Liverpool and they’ve been screening ‘Strictly’ every week. My manager said literally there wasn’t a dry eye in the house that night.
“I was there the day it happened at Hillsborough and it’s massively close to my heart. However long my ‘Strictly’ journey lasts, that will live on for a very long time … the memory of the routine and the effect it had on people.”
Simon’s performance with his partner Karen Clifton left head judge Shirley Ballas, who was born in the city, in tears, but the ‘Sunday Brunch’ host insists he didn’t do the dance for “effect”.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “It wasn’t done for any effect. It wasn’t done to garner votes or be dramatic. It was a real feeling and a real sensation. I was honoured to do it.
“But I was wrecked that day … there’s no two ways about it. I knew that was what would be on my mind when I was dancing.
“My wife was there that night to support me. And Karen was brilliant. She knew how tough it was for me that day. She felt it too. And every single other contestant on the show was just delightful about it.”

Alexandra Burke gets emotional on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke got emotional as she was awarded a near perfect score on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on Saturday night (14.10.17).
The ‘Broken Heels’ singer and her professional partner Gorka Márquez wowed with an amazing Jive to ‘Proud Mary’ by Tina Turner, earning her 39 points out of a possible 40.
Craig Revel Horwood told the pair: “I have no idea where all that came from darling. You were out there dancing to split the atom, you created a nuclear reaction. Incredible.”
Whilst Darcey Bussell added: “You give your all. It was absolutely stunning. It was an all round performance.”
Shirley Ballas admitted she was “left speechless” by the performance whilst Bruno Tonioli said it would have been a performance Tina Turner would have been proud of.
He told the singer: “Alexandra, I had the privilege of working with Tina Turner. Tonight you really captured the quality of Tina Turner and I’m sure she would have loved that.”
Reflecting on the dance and the wonderful comments from the judges, Alexandra said she “wished her mother was there” before she broke down in tears, only managing to murmur a thank you as Gorka held her close.
Elsewhere in the show, Gemma Atkinson and Aljaž Škorjanec impressed with their Paso Doble, where Craig praised Gemma for taking “ownership” of the dance, adding that he “really and truly loved it”.
Aston Merrygold and Janette Manrara’s Quickstep earned them mostly good comments, but with his high scores in the previous week, the judges were expecting more from him.
Bruno, though, told them: “The sky’s the limit for you! I don’t know what footwork they [the other judges] were watching because I thought it was amazing. The speed, timing and ease of movement was great.”
Whilst both Charlotte Hawkins and Simon Rimmer received the lowest scores, their performances were praised by the judging panel.
Darcey told Charlotte – who danced the Jive with Brendan Cole: “For you to enjoy it, it was a revelation. And that made us feel better. For keeping it alive and keeping it fun, welldone!”
Whilst speaking about Simon and Karen Clifton’s samba, she added: “You gave it your all. I thought the concentration and focus was great.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues with the results show on Sunday (15.10.17).

Sarah Paulson joins Bird Box cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Paulson has joined the cast of Sandra Bullock’s ‘Bird Box’.
The ‘American Horror Story’ actress will join Oscar-winner Bullock in the new Netflix thriller, which tells the story of a woman and a pair of children, who are among the survivors after an alien invasion, Variety reports.
In the post-apocalyptic movie, the family must navigate their way through a river on a small rowing boat while blindfolded.
Danielle Macdonald, Trevante Rhodes, Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar and Lil Rel Howery have also been added to the ensemble cast, alongside John Malkovich.
The script has been written by Eric Heisserer and Susanne Bier is directing the movie.
Sarah and Sandra recently worked on ‘Ocean’s Eight’ together alongside Rihanna and Sarah admitted they spent much of the time on set trying to stop themselves from singing Rihanna’s hits.
Sarah shared: “A lot of us spent a lot of time not singing Rihanna songs. We all sort of covertly were like, ‘Are you doing it, too?'”
Sarah said her castmates – who also included Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway – would feel an especially strong urge to hum Rihanna tunes whenever she would turn around and look at them.
She explained: “Everyone would be like, ‘Stop’. It was a lot of collective winking.”

Judd Apatow calls for closure of The Weinstein Company

OHMYGOSSIP — Judd Apatow has called on The Weinstein Company to be shut down.
The 46-year-old producer and director believes that after allegations surfaced that Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed a number of female employees and actresses over a period of almost three decades, his production company should be closed down.
Speaking at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon in Los Angeles, he said: “Who gives a s**t [about the company]? Shut it down, shut it down. We have enough ‘Project Runway’.”
Judd also voiced his belief that Harvey’s staff knew about his transgressions, referring to his own staff as an example.
He explained: “People know what I’m doing. If I’m in the office, and the door is closed, they know I’m secretly eating red velvet cupcakes.”
And Judd hopes this will lead to a drastic change in the treatment of women in Hollywood.
He said: “This is leading to a new examination of how women are treated in this industry and hopefully we can create a new environment where women feel supported when they speak out against creeps like Harvey Weinstein.”
Speaking at the same event, Octavia Spencer praised the “brave women” who spoke out against the disgraced producer.
She said: “This past week, the film industry awakened to a scandal that has rocked us to our core. Scores of brave women came forward and recounted stories of sexual harassment perpetrated by a producer who had abused his power for nearly three decades. As a result, women across the world are banding together, leading the charge to ensure that these victims are heard and policies changed. All of the aforementioned incidents demonstrate the transformative power of women and philanthropy.”

Rebecca Ferguson’s tough shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Ferguson found making Mission: Impossible 5′ similar to being in labour.
The 33-year-old actress made her debut in the action franchise as assassin Ilsa Faust and admitted she needed to do a lot to get in shape for the role, but has found it much easier to reprise the part for the upcoming next instalment of the series.
She said: “[The first one was] like going through labour, it was exciting, it was new, it was so goddamn painful.
“This time I’ve kept up my fitness so it’s not so hard.
“I could now practically sleep on the Pilates reformer, I love it so much.”
During term time, Rebecca’s 10-year-old son, Isaac, lives with his father – who she split from some time ago – in Sweden and she is thankful they have been able to make it work for her to travel with her work.
Rebecca – who has a new, unnamed, English partner, who is not in the film industry – said: “We make it work. It could be so hard, but it’s not because everyone gets on and supports each other.”
The actress can next be seen on screen in ‘The Snowman’, which she began working on in Norway as soon as filming wrapped on ‘The Girl on the Train’ in the US, but she insists her workload isn’t that tough, especially because she enjoyed working with co-star Michael Fassbender on the horror.
She said: “I wouldn’t worry too much about my workload. After all, I had four months with Michael.”
She has also been working on ‘The Greatest Showman’ with Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron but was initially unconvinced by the project when director Michael Gracy arrived at her house carrying a television set.
She recalled to Britain’s Vogue magazine: “Did I want, then, to do a musical? Hell no.”
However, after the filmmaker showed his video montage, she felt “electrified” and jumped at the chance to be involved.

Michelle Hardwick shocked by steamy Emmerdale storyline

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick is shocked by her character Vanessa Woodfield’s steamy encounter with Charity Dingle.
The pair shared a kiss when they became trapped in the cellar of The Woolpack pub together during Finn Barton’s wake but Michelle was surprised by the storyline as the characters have barely shared any screen time until now.
She told the Daily Star’s Big TV Magazine: “There’s been no attraction before, so this has come out of nowhere.
“I don’t think she thought of Charity in that way.
“In the five years Vanessa’s been in the village, she’s probably said three lines to Charity.
“She’s only been involved with her recently.”
But Michelle has revealed that there are more romantic moments in store for Charity and Vanessa.
She said: “Charity is like a lioness prowling and becomes quite predatory over Vanessa.
“She becomes under Charity’s spell, and they end up kissing again and going upstairs to the bedroom.”
Charity previously had an affair with her former husband Chris Tate’s sister Zoe but has not had a lesbian encounter since then until Vanessa.

Megan McKenna no longer a full time TOWIE cast member

The reality TV star has decided to drastically reduce her hours on the reality TV show in order to focus on her music career after the release of her debut single ‘High Heeled Shoes’.
A source told The Sun Online: “Megan is reducing her hours so she can focus on chasing her country music dreams.
“She’s filming less days with ‘TOWIE’ because of her increasing commitments to music.”
Viewers have been following Megan’s progress in the music industry through her reality TV show ‘There’s Something About Megan’.
Speaking about her passion for country music, she said: “What people don’t know is that I’ve been making music myself for years as a hobby. I’ve been working with a lot of different producers and recording things.
“I’ve never really had a chance to talk about it before. Because I’m a reality star people don’t think I’m so passionate about it and don’t take me seriously but this is all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
“It’s not just about a TV show for me. It’s a dream of mine.
“Yes it is another reality show but it is with the hope of launching a music career. I did ‘Ex On The Beach’ and fell into reality TV but music is what I’ve always loved doing.”

The turbulent couple – who started dating at the beginning of last year before splitting over the summer – have decided to go their separate ways once again following a series of blazing rows since the brunette beauty’s country music career has taken off.

Andy Serkis nearly said no to Lord of the Rings

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis almost turned down the offer to portray Gollum in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy.
The 53-year-old actor shot to fame in the hit Peter Jackson franchise – based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s books – and has since gone on to become the go-to guy in Hollywood for motion caption roles and he now runs The Imaginarium Studios production company with producer Jonathan Cavendish which specialises in Performance Capture technology.
At first, Serkis thought the part was just a voice role and he came close to snubbing the part that changed his career.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he revealed: “When I started doing ‘Lord of the Rings’, I liked the gamble. Originally, I heard it was going to be like doing a voice for a digital character, and I wasn’t interested, but then I met Peter Jackson and he said, ‘We want an actor to play the role, be on set and make decisions for that character’.”
After starring as the deformed, schizophrenic creature, Serkis took on the role as the giant ape in ‘King Kong’ and admitted he found it to be an “epiphany”.
Serkis – who also portrayed intelligent chimpanzee Caesar in the ‘Planet of the Apes’ trilogy – said: “That was the epiphany because it was like: you can now play anything. Then, as the technology evolved and facial capture came into play, and [it became] total performance capture, not just motion, I realised how important it is as an actor’s tool in the 21st century.”
Serkis has gone behind the camera for his directorial debut on the drama ‘Breathe’ – starring Andrew Garfield as Robin Cavendish, the father of Serkis’ business partner, who was a paralysed polio sufferer who pioneered for disability rights – and he has admitted that he cried when he first read the script.
He said: “I really did cry my eyes out, and that never happens to me.”

Mike Vukadinovich set to rewrite Beetlejuice 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Vukadinovich is set to rewrite ‘Beetlejuice 2’.
The screenwriter – who penned the new Peter Dinklage movie ‘Rememory’ – has joined the Warner Brothers production and Deadline report Vukadinovich will rewrite the script which was earlier penned by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg – who are now set to produce.
The original movie was directed by Tim Burton in 1988 and starred Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder and although rumours have said the original cast are set to return to the sequel, there is no confirmation as of yet.
‘Beetlejuice’ followed Barbara (Davis) and Adam Maitland (Baldwin) who die in a car accident and they find themselves stuck haunting their home unable to leave.
When the Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones) and their daughter Lydia (Ryder) buy the home, the ghosts try to scare them away.
But their efforts attract the attention of the rambunctious spirit Beetlejuice (Keaton) whose help becomes dangerous for the couple and the innocent Lydia.
However, just last year Keaton, 64, revealed he used to be keen on the idea of making a follow up movie, but because there’s been nothing set in stone with the director he’s fed up of being asked about a potential return.
He said: “It keeps coming back. I don’t even talk about it because I don’t know how many other ways I can say to people that they probably know more about it than I do. I was probably ahead of everybody when I said, ‘Man, that movie was so good. If I ever did something again, it might be that.’ That was probably 15 years ago and then they never did it. Then I hear these things, like everybody else. But I have no idea. Tim’s off doing movies, I’m off doing movies, so I always assume it’s a no. But I don’t know.”

Alicia Vikander up for directing challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Vikander wouldn’t rule out directing a movie.
The 29-year-old Academy Award winner has produced her first movie ‘Euphoria’ under her production company Vikarious Productions but despite saying producing comes natural to her, she doesn’t want to “jinx” directing.
Speaking to The I Paper, Vikander said: “Producing is just something that’s come very naturally. Usually, if you’re lucky, an actor comes in a week before the project starts for rehearsals. I’ve found myself choosing projects where I had the potential to be involved earlier on, being part of the group in development, and Rob Hardy [cinematographer] has been kind enough to invite me to be part of the entire process. I am so in love with making films. I don’t want to jinx anything [directing]. I suppose of a project I loved came up, and the story wouldn’t get told without me being part of it, then as long as it seemed natural, then yes I’d do it.”
‘Euphoria’ follows the story of two sisters in conflict with each other, Ines (Vikander) and Emile (Eva Green) who travel through Europe towards a mystery destination.
The film was written and directed by Lisa Langseth in her English-language debut and was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival this year.
Vikander is next to be seen as Lara Croft in the reboot of ‘Tomb Raider’ next year and Vikander admitted she has never been so “physical” in her life or done as “many stunts”.
Vikander said: “I was so excited when the trailer got released.
“I’ve never done so many stunts or been so physical in my life. All my roles are different – but I need to be a bit scared, and passionate about doing them.”
The action heroine – who first appeared in a 1996 video game – was previously portrayed by Angelina Jolie in two movies, 2001’s ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ and 2003’s ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’.

Gambit set for February 2019 release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gambit’ will be released on Valentine’s Day 2019.
20th Century Fox have revealed the February 14, 2019, release date they had reserved on their calendar will be filled by the Channing Tatum-led movie, which Gore Verbinski joined as director just last week.
Tatum’s titular character, also known as Remy LeBeau, is a New Orleans-based mutant with special powers, including manipulating kinetic energy, and he has a deck of cards among his weapons.
The movie’s release date comes after some uncertainty about a director.
Original director Rupert Wyatt left over budgetary disagreements and his replacement Doug Liman dropped out of the production because he “never found a personal connection” to the film.
The script for the motion picture has been penned by Josh Zetumer, following previous reports of multiple script re-writes, and Tatum, Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner will co-produce the project.
Taylor Kitsch previously portrayed the character in the 2009 film ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’.
‘Magic Mike’ actor Tatum recently admitted he can relate to his alter-ego because he has been to New Orleans on several occasions.
He said: “I love Gambit. I grew up in the South; my father’s from Louisiana. We’d go to New Orleans and I heard all the dialects.
“It felt so different from the rest of America; it has its own ancient culture. So I identified with that. And he always felt the most real of the ‘X-Men’ to me.”
