Chloe Grace Moretz lands role in Dutch and Razzlekhan

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz, Lewis Pullman and Ariana DeBose are to star in ‘Dutch and Razzlekhan’.
The trio have boarded the crypto heist movie based on a true story from director Jon S. Baird.
The picture is based on the Business Insider article ‘The $4.5 Billion Question’ by Rob Price and Becky Peterson and tells the extraordinary story of how lovers and aspiring rapper-entrepreneurs Heather ‘Razzlekhan’ Morgan (Moretz) and Ilya ‘Dutch’ Lichtenstein (Pullman) stole over $4 billion worth of cryptocurrency.
The pair were caught by the Department of Justice and charged with conspiracy to launder the stolen Bitcoin in 2022 before being convicted the following year.
Logan Miller and Noah Miller have written the script although details about DeBose’s role are yet to be disclosed.
The story of Dutch and Razzlekhan has generated plenty of interest in Hollywood as Lily Collins is set to portray the latter in the Hulu series ‘Razzlekahn: The Infamous Crocodile of Wall Street’.
Amazon MGM have also announced that a separate film, ‘Razzlekahn’, is in development with Hannah Marks directing.
Chloe enjoyed success as a teenage star in movies including ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Hugo’ but has recalled how she was often “shot down” by film chiefs whenever she suggested an idea.
The 27-year-old actress told the ‘Reign with Josh Smith’ podcast: “It was always odd from my first leading role when I was 14 in ‘Carrie’ … it was always really interesting to see who would be really unhappy with a young woman.
“At that point, I had already worked for so many years, almost ten years, and as I continued through having more important roles on set as I grew up, it was always very interesting to see the pushback that I would get from a lot of people.
“The majority of it was older men for sure who would infantilise me. If I had real things to bring to the table, a lot of the time it would get shot down.”

Karren Brady claims she was told she had to be ‘twice as good as men’ in football job

OHMYGOSSIP — Baroness Karren Brady says she was warned she had to be “twice as good as the men” at her football job.
The 54-year-old businesswoman and TV star, best known for appearing in ‘The Apprentice’, landed her role as Birmingham City FC’s managing director when she was 23, but says she was immediately told by her boss she would have to fight hard to prove herself in the male-dominated world.
She told The Sun newspaper: “He said, ‘Football’s very male-dominated. You’ll have to be twice as good as the men to be half as good.’
“And I said, ‘Well, luckily that’s not difficult.’ That’s my ethos on everything.”
After shifting her career to TV, acting as one of Lord Alan Sugar’s advisors on the BBC’s ‘Apprentice’, Karren has been offering support to young people who want to follow in her business footsteps.
She said: “I tell young people, ‘Do not worry what someone you’ll never think of you. It’s more important what you think of you think of yourself and what family and friends think of you.’
“I was a young woman in a male-dominated world, but I believed I could do a job and do it well, and I stuck to my values and did all the things I wanted to do with my career.”
When she was quizzed about what the future holds for her on ‘The Apprentice’, Karren insisted she would leave the show when 76-year-old Sir Alan goes.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s not a discussion him and I have ever had, but as long as he does it, I’ll do it, and when he leaves, I’ll leave, because I do it for him.
“I don’t do it to be on the TV. There’s nothing scarier than being 54 and seeing your face on a 50-inch television screen, I can assure you!
“I do it because I genuinely believe in him, I like him, I enjoy the show, and the team around it are fantastic.”
But Karren said she believed there was “no reason” Sir Alan would not carry on fronting ‘The Apprentice’ for “a long time”.
She added: “I think the question of how long he’ll go on for is a question for him.
“But a long time, I hope. I mean, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t.”

Zooey Deschanel to star in rom-com Merv

OHMYGOSSIP — Zooey Deschanel has been cast in the rom-com ‘Merv’.
The 44-year-old star has signed up to feature in the film that is being directed by Jessica Swale for Amazon MGM Studios.
The film centres on an estranged couple who find out that the dog they share is depressed following their break-up and decide to have an awkward reconciliation when they take their pooch on a sunny holiday to Florida to lift his spirits.
Linsey Stewart and Dane Clark have penned the screenplay with Matt Beer and Roma Downey producing the picture.
Zooey starred in the TV sitcom ‘New Girl’ as Jess Day between 2011 and 2018 but said last year that it was “too soon” for a reunion episode – even though she would love to spend more time with co-stars including Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield.
She told Us Weekly magazine: “No, it’s too soon. We need a little more time in between. We always talked about ‘500 Days of Summer’ [and] what’s a different perspective on that.
“The things I’d like to revisit are my friends. I saw my castmates from ‘New Girl’ more than my family for seven years. I appreciate getting to work with them, so the thought of revisiting these things is mainly to do with the people.”
Meanwhile, Zooey revealed how she thought it was a prank when she was told that the late music icon Prince wanted to appear on the show – with the pair duetting on the song ‘Fallinlove2nite’ for a 2014 episode.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “Oh my God. I don’t know. I know he watched ‘New Girl’ on the tour bus.
“When he contacted me through his manager, I thought someone was pranking me and I asked my agents, ‘Can you find out if this is really Prince’s manager?’
“I recorded the song for the show, but when he said they would put it out I was like, ‘What? A single with Prince?!’ It was a pinch-myself moment.”

Mason Gooding expects Scream 7 to be made despite production turmoil

OHMYGOSSIP — Mason Gooding expects ‘Scream 7’ to happen despite the exits of co-stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.
The latest installment in the slasher franchise has been hit by development trouble with Melissa being fired due to her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict and Jenna departing due to scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series ‘Wednesday’.
Director Christopher Landon also exited last year after the “dream job turned into a nightmare” but Mason – who portrays Chad Meeks-Martin in the franchise – expects the film to be made as long as it is financially viable.
The 27-year-old star told Variety: “If it could make money, I guarantee you, they’ll make it.
“It’s one of those things where you wait to hear from the people that make the big decisions.
“It’s all about keeping up with what feels like is the best movie for the fans. ’Scream’ doesn’t exist without the people who enjoy it as much as they … If people want it, they will certainly try their best to see it happen.”
Despite the turmoil surrounding the latest movie, Mason is glad that he has been able to make friends while working on the films.
He said: “The fact that we got to stay a family beyond the work is the most important thing to me. It never felt like we lost that.”
Christopher announced his departure from ‘Scream 7’ last December and confessed that he was ready to “move on” from the project.
In a post on X, the 49-year-old filmmaker said: “I guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited Scream 7 weeks ago.
“This will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart did break for everyone involved. Everyone. But it’s time to move on.”

Marisa Abela placed Amy Winehouse in the ‘driver’s seat’ of Back to Black story

OHMYGOSSIP — Marisa Abela is determined to place Amy Winehouse at the centre of the story in ‘Back to Black’.
The 28-year-old star is to portray the late singer in the upcoming biopic and wanted to capture Amy’s “essence” in the flick as her story has been told by others since her tragic death aged just 27 in 2011.
Speaking at the Harper’s Bazaar International Women’s Day event in London on Thursday (07.03.24), Marisa said: “What we were interested in doing was bringing audiences back to who she was when she first captured everyone’s imaginations, that moment where she really set the world on fire with her album ‘Frank’.
“We wanted to get back to that place, who was she, at the centre of her own narrative? I wanted to capture the essence of her soul.”
The actress continued: “When we look back on her narrative, we are somehow using other people to inform us on her story. Our film is really trying to take it back to how Amy felt, what Amy was thinking. And there is no judgement there. This is about putting Amy back in the driver’s seat of her own story.”
Marisa felt that she had an “obligation” to embody the ‘Valerie’ singer’s physical and mental state in the picture, which is set for release next month.
She said: “When you make a decision to take on board something like this, you have an obligation and a responsibility to go as deep physically and emotionally and mentally as you can.
“I wanted to do that in every way that was open to me. I wanted to explore every avenue possible. Everything that Amy did was Amy’s choice so who am I as an actor to decide that we weren’t going to include that in the film.
“With singing, it was Amy’s everything, it was her whole life so I wanted to really train as hard as I possibly could to get that voice as good as I could.”
Marisa added: “Regarding physicality, when you are a different size, you take up a lot less space and that just changes how you interact with the world and how the world interacts with you.
“I think Amy can be defined by a million things, most of all her power and her voice and her legacy, but it’s true that she was a victim of a disease which was addiction and an eating disorder – and that changes you physically, and I didn’t feel like it was my place as an actor to say that we don’t need that part of the story. It’s her story.”

Paddy McGuinness ‘being lined up for BBC Radio 2 show’

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness is reportedly being lined up for his own BBC Radio 2 show.
The TV host, 50, apparently may land the spot after impressing bosses and listeners while covering 35-year-old Rylan Clark’s Saturday afternoon show on the station.
A source told The Sun: “Paddy is a natural fit for Helen’s vision of Radio 2, and is an effortless broadcaster.
“He’s proven a hit with listeners since filling in for Rylan, and was brought in for talks about the future.
“Like fellow Bolton-born host Vernon Kay, Paddy’s Northern tones — and cheesy dad jokes — work well on air, and he has come up with some brilliant, innovative ideas for formats of his own.”
‘Take Me Out’ host Paddy previously filled in for Vernon Kay on Radio 2 while the Bolton-born presenter, 49, was doing an ultra-marathon for ‘Children In Need’ in November 2023.
Meanwhile, Paddy has admitted he has not spoken to his ‘Top Gear’ co-star Freddie Flintoff, 46, in more than 10 months after the former cricket star suffered a horrific crash during a shoot for the show.
He told The Sun: “We were all there for him when it happened, and he got back to us all immediately after, but it’s gone quiet since then.
“Who knows what he must be going through. I still see his wife and we still chat, and we have the same barber, and it’s all lovely.
“I messaged Fred recently saying, ‘Look, I can’t begin to think what you’re going through but rather than me bombarding you with loads of messages, which can be annoying, if you can’t be (bothered) with that, I’m always here.
“I hope you’re well and please God, I’ll see you soon’.
“You just can’t begin to put yourself into his shoes. No one can know what’s going on in his head.”

Ray Winstone’s secret 30-year feud with Guy Ritchie revealed!

OHMYGOSSIP — Ray Winstone has been secretly feuding with Guy Ritchie for decades.
The ‘Sexy Beast’ actor, 67, plays west London gangster Bobby Glass in 55-year-old filmmaker Guy’s new Netflix series version of his movie ‘The Gentlemen’, but has admitted they fell out years ago before eventually making up.
Ray told Virgin Radio’s ‘Chris Evans Breakfast Show’: “We had words years ago – a fallout.
“I was going to do (Guy’s 1998 film) ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and it didn’t happen for whatever reason.
“And I thought he was in the wrong and he probably thought I was in the wrong.
“Fisticuffs never came about, thank God. Over the years we snubbed one another but then you grow up.
“We had a meet and had a little cuddle and a chat about it. And he is a good guy.
“All those wasted years… .”
Ray also recently told The Independent it has taken him and Guy years to work together due to their fall-out.
He said: “We haven’t always had the best relationship, put it that way. It was back when we were younger, but then you grow up.”
Despite sharing his newfound friendship with Guy, the actor also told The Independent he would rather work with his old friend Gary Oldman, 65, if he ever got the chance to do a film version of ‘King Lear’.
He said: “With Guy, who’s brilliant at what he does, he heightens everything. He’d give it pace.
“Someone like Gary would be much more into the reality side of things. It depends what alley you want to go down.
“I think, for my style, I’d probably go with Gary.
“I’d want to do it with Gary! But then again, if it was only offered by Guy, I’d go with Guy.”

Adrian Chiles scarred from suffering ‘fat-shaming’ since childhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Adrian Chiles has suffered “fat-shaming” since his schooldays.
The broadcaster, 56, famed for fronting ‘Match of the Day 2’ and the BBC’s ‘One Show’, admitted being branded “overweight” by a PE teacher at school was “seared in his memory”.
He said in his column for The Guardian newspaper: “If you want to fat-shame me, you will find it very easy; just call me overweight and I will be very hurt indeed.
“I’ve been heavier (tellingly, I can barely bring myself to write the word ‘fatter’) and I’ve been a bit lighter. But, honestly, I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t think about it… specific references to my weight back then are seared – and I mean seared – on my memory. They still play out in HD in my mind.
“A couple of examples. When I was about 12 and out of breath during school football practice, the teacher grabbed a pinch of me and said exactly this: ‘You’re carrying passengers, son. Too many potatoes.’
“I was appalled. One Christmas Day, my Auntie Marj told me to stand up so she could have a good look at me, because her sister had told her I was getting fat. “’But you’re not too bad,’ she said. This didn’t help.”
Adrian made the remarks while discussing how Labour peer Peter Mandelson, 70, was accused of “fat-shaming” the party’s leader Sir Keir Starmer, 61, by saying he needed to “shed a few pounds”.
The BBC radio presenter added he thought Sir Keir’s body shape was “just plain normal” and said he found the politician a “fine-looking’ fella”.
He added: “Call me anything, but don’t call me fat.”

The 33-year-old, best known as a professional dancer on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, has overcome the disease since being told she had stage three breast cancer in May 2023, and has now opened up about how McFly frontman Tom, 38, and his 39-year-old wife travelled to comfort her when she was first dealt the devastating news of her illness.
She told TV host Kate Thornton, 51, on her ‘White Wine Question Time’ podcast: “I can remember ringing Tom and telling him, and Tom and G got straight in the car to do an eight hour round trip to come and see me.
“Giovanna had finished a trek then did a three hour drive home. They got in the car, they drove to Wales where my parents live. They spent a couple of hours with me and then they drove back, bless them. All because they wanted to be with me in person.”
After undergoing chemotherapy, Amy recently announced that she was given the “all clear” from cancer for five years, but would have to have monthly injections and regular check-ups.
She said on Instagram: “NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE! Words I dreamed of! My biggest accomplishment yet!
“I won’t be getting the all clear for five years especially with a hormone fed cancer. But it was all worth it. Words I never thought I’d hear at one point.
“So grateful for all the care I received and continue to have. To my husband [Benjamin Jones], family and friends who supported me unconditionally and to you guys! Thank you!”
Amy has also celebrated landing a job on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV daytime show, where she is tipped to be interviewing celebrities.

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul O’Grady’s final TV show and a documentary about his life will air this Easter.
The entertainer passed away on 28 March 2023 at the age of 67 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrhythmia at his home, weeks after he filmed ‘Paul O’Grady’s Great Elephant Adventure’.
It has now been revealed that the programme, which celebrates the work of elephant conservation centres in Thailand and Laos, will be airing on ITV1 over Easter alongside the 90-minute documentary about the comic’s career, ‘The Life and Death of Lily Savage’.

“It has been very emotional and moving to interview the people who knew him best and to delve into the golden archive of Paul in his absolute prime.”
The documentary follows Paul throughout the AIDS crisis as he created his iconic drag character, Lily Savage, who became a staple of London’s underground gay venues in the ’70s and ’80s before becoming a smash character he took on the road as part of his sold-out comedy shows.

“Set against the background of social and political change and upheaval, it features Paul’s own voice and those who were closest to him – including his daughter Sharyn.
“This is a layered and richly entertaining tribute to the wonderful Paul O’Grady.”

JonBenét Ramsey’s unsolved murder to be explored in new series

OHMYGOSSIP — JonBenét Ramsey’s unsolved murder will be explored in a new series on her killing.
The show is apparently being made by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, as speculation keeps raging over the murder of the six-year-old beauty pageant contestant from America, 27 years after she was found strangled with a broken skull in her parents’ basement around seven hours after being reported missing.
An official logline for the project states it “details the mysterious death and the surrounding media frenzy in the murder of JonBenét Ramsey, a case that captivated an entire nation and left us with more questions than answers”.
Variety named the studios that are apparently making the show, and said Richard LaGravenese is attached to serve as the executive producer and showrunner on the project.
Harrison Query and Tommy Wallach are said to have sold the project to MTVES and 101 and are also executive producers.
Richard has mainly worked in film during his career, on the screenplays for films such as ‘Unbroken’, ‘Water for Elephants’ and ‘The Horse Whisperer’. He also directed ‘PS I Love You’ and ‘Beautiful Creatures’.
JonBenét’s body discovered in the basement of her family home in Colorado hours after her parents reported her missing.
There have been numerous theories as to who killed her, including that it was a family member or someone who broke into the house, but the case is still officially open.
It has been the subject of intense media attention and still grabs headlines.
The upcoming series on the mystery is currently untitled, according to Variety.
JonBenét’s parents John and Patsy Ramsey were considered by Boulder police as suspects in her death but they were not charged with any crimes.
In 2006, Alexis Val Reich (known then as John Mark Karr) was arrested in Thailand and extradited to the US after making a false confession to killing JonBenét – but no evidence linked him to the murder.
Convicted sex offender Gary Olivia has also repeatedly confessed to killing the child “by accident” but has not been charged.

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt has landed a job cooking at a Michelin starred restaurant.
The ‘EastEnders’ veteran, 52, who has played café owner Ian Beale on the BBC soap since it launched in 1985, seems to have taken a leaf out of his character’s book as he’s now working at the Midsummer House in Cambridge, England.
He said on Instagram about taking the spot at the two Michelin starred venue: “Yesterday was like the first day at school. After two years of talking about doing it, I finally found time to spend a day working at @midsummer_house_ with @markabbottwa60 and @midsummerchef.
“The hours are long but being part of service was brilliant.
“With a watchful eye over me, I was plating up the Carlingford Oyster amuse bouche.
“Today, I think I’ve got the very fiddly macaron to get the hang of.”
Adam – a renowned foodie – had previously been seen serving customers from a food stall in Wimbledon, London.
His new job comes after it was revealed in February he is being chased by tax officials for a huge bill after he broke up his management firm.
HMRC has told the actor’s accountants he owes £139,000 in Corporation Tax after the break-up of X L Management which Adam ran with his ex-wife Beverley Sharp.
The company had been set up as a talent agency to attract other actors but Adam was the only client.
Adam shocked soap fans when he returned to ‘EastEnders’ last year, with his plot line seeing Ian moving back onto Albert Square with wife Cindy (played by Michelle Collins), who was previously thought to have been killed off.

John Cena ‘most prepared actor’ Peter Farrelly has worked with

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena is “the most prepared actor” Peter Farrelly has ever worked with.
The 67-year-old director has returned to his comedy roots with Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Ricky Stanicky’ and he revealed he knew wrestler-turned-actor John, 46, was his leading man after watching him in ‘Peacemaker’.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “Someone called me and said, ‘Have you ever seen Peacemaker?’ I said, ‘What’s that?’ That’s not normally the thing I would watch. I kept watching and was like, This guy is unbelievable. The stuff he does in that show is hysterical, and as soon as I saw it, I thought, ‘That’s Stanicky.’ I was hoping he agreed, and he did.
“It’s mostly in the script. It always is with us. Some people, they start with a loose script, and they find it. I don’t have the confidence to do that. I have to have it down and know what we’re doing. But after we get it, then we say, ‘Try this, try that’… Without question, I would say he was the most prepared actor I’ve ever worked with. On the first day, he knew the entire script from front to back, every line.”
Zac Efron also stars in the movie and Peter was excited to reunite with him after working on ‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’ together.
He said: “I actually met Zac probably seven, eight years ago. We were trying to get him on a project. I really liked him, and it just didn’t work out. Then ‘Beer Run’ happened, and I was extremely impressed by how talented that guy is. He’s also a dream for any director because when you come to him, he’s just like, ‘What do you think? You good?’ A lot of actors, they’re in their heads. He totally trusts you, and that’s a good thing to have.”

‘Our tastes align on basically everything’: Daisy Ridley and Tom Bateman work well together

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley says it’s easy to work with her husband Tom Bateman because their “tastes align on basically everything”.
The 31-year-old ‘Star Wars’ actress worked with her producer spouse on her new original contemporary noir thriller, ‘Magpie’, and she says they had no issues.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, she said: “I found that process wonderful, because our tastes align on basically everything. I think he’s a brilliant writer and we were so clear about what it is that we wanted to make.
And we’ve achieved that.”
The film is the directorial debut of theatre helmer Sam Yates.
The plot centres on a couple whose lives are thrown into disarray when their daughter is cast opposite a controversial major star.
‘Magpie’ was produced by Ridley and Tom Bateman for Werewolf Films and Kate Solomon of 55 Films.
The producers said in a statement: “Our aim with ‘Magpie’ is to make a Hitchcockian thriller that will take audiences on a genuine ride – fast-paced and beautiful to look at with a tension that will build from the start and keep everyone guessing to the very end.”
Yates added: “I immediately connected with Tom Bateman’s ingenious, intoxicating script. I’m excited to take audiences on a wild, surprising thrill ride with our stellar cast led by the incomparable Daisy Ridley.”
