A.J. Odudu ‘wasn’t fine’ after ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ collapse

OHMYGOSSIP — A.J. Odudu admitted she “wasn’t fine” after she collapsed during ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The 36-year-old TV star, who hosts ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ alongside Will Best, 39, was pushed to the brink during her stint on the Channel 4 reality show in 2019, and crumbled after she carried 45kg of equipment up a steep hill, with a team rushing to her aid.
She was quoted in the Daily Star newspaper saying: “There’s a whole team of people who are like, ‘Just stop, you’re allowed to stop’, and I’m like, ‘No, I’m fine’.
“I’ve got a really high pain threshold. I can endure some things and then go, ‘Actually, maybe I wasn’t fine. Gosh, that was touch and go.'”
A.J. also reflected on her “distressing” dramatic exit from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final in 2021 after the presenter tore a ligament in her ankle.
She recalled: “It was so distressing. I had this acute pain that literally made me projectile-vomit on the stop – that’s how sharp the pain was.
“I was having fluid drained out of my foot, I was having ultra-sounds, then I’m in a moon boot speaking to the team at ‘Strictly’ saying, ‘Do you think an iconic dance where I am in a moon boot?'”
A.J. about ‘Celebrity SAS’: “The most exciting thing about the celebrity version is everyone goes in thinking they are going to keep up this squeaky clean persona and it’s all going to be filtered and edited to how they like titbit actually the control is taken out of their hands.
“I think their luxuries being stripped away from them means they will be disarmed from the get go and we’ll get to see the real them.”

‘Corrie’ actor David Neilson slams online trolling as ‘dangerous’

OHMYGOSSIP — David Neilson has warned online trolling is “dangerous” amid his ‘Coronation Street’ storyline about the impact of online abuse.
The 74-year-old actor, who plays Roy Cropper in the ITV soap, is currently at the centre of a dark plot in the ITV soap, which sees the café owner lock himself away after Internet sleuths begin to berate him after he was arrested for the disappearance of Lauren Bolton, played by Cait Fitton, 22.
When ITV asked about whether online bullying was an alien concept to his character, David said: “It is, he doesn’t understand it. It’s dangerous, and it is dangerous in the real world.
“You know, there are kids taking their own lives because of these sort of morons and bullies, awful people and awful stupidity going on. “It is very relevant in today’s society. It is the online version of mob mentality.
“Like the old-fashioned lynch mob in the village going around to someone’s house setting it on fire or damaging property, but they are nameless and faceless. It is a fictional story but it does relate to things that are happening in the world today.”
The actor was then quizzed on how his character felt after Nina Lucas, played by 26-year-old Mollie Gallagher, discovered the harmful comments against Roy, which David said was a reflection of “a sort of insanity” he is desperate to move away from in reality.
He explained: “That’s the way that wonderful technology can be used by human beings for all sorts of suspect reasons. It’s like graffiti or open day for idiots. Anybody’s allowed on there. Everybody invited, everybody in.
“Like Roy I have nothing to do with social media, like a lot of my generation. So in a way it is quite fascinating to see what is happening to him. I’m playing this like it is a sort of insanity that’s going on and I’m playing against something that I don’t understand, let alone Roy.
“He has only just got a phone and when he finds out about all this craziness on Nina’s phone he simply says he doesn’t want to talk about it.”
David also said Roy wanted to help the police find missing Lauren, even though “his brain is a bit scrambled”.
He added: “He has rules and that is why he wants to help. In a way it makes his life easier because it is black and white but then he will do something that is so bad for him, not on purpose.
“He is being absolutely honest trying to lay out what happened and obviously the police officer is bemused by him, he’s not the normal suspect they interview.”

Ziggy Marley is delighted that audiences liked Bob Marley biopic more than critics

OHMYGOSSIP — Ziggy Marley thinks that the mixed response to ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ is fitting.
The 55-year-old musician produced Reinaldo Marcus Green’s biopic about his late reggae legend father and thinks the fact that audiences have enjoyed the flick more than critics would be appreciated by the ‘Three Little Birds’ singer.
Ziggy told Variety: “I remember when reviews came in. It was like, ‘Let’s see what the people say.’ That was my demeanour.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, this is actually perfect for something representing Bob. That the critics don’t get it, but the people get it.’ It was meant to be this way.
“I was just going over the review of the ‘Exodus’ album (1977 record from Bob Marley and the Wailers). They killed it, (writing) ‘It’s terrible.’ So, the box office thing was how it was meant to be. People make the decisions, not the critics.”
Green echoed Ziggy’s views on the movie and says that the audience response had filled with him “joy and pride”.
The 42-year-old director said: “The people were the ones speaking for the film, and that gives us a lot of joy and pride. You can’t get those numbers without people telling people to go see it. That’s word of mouth and it’s still going.”
Bob is portrayed by Kingsley Ben-Adir in the film and he revealed that he “wanted to change everything” after first adopting the reggae icon’s dreadlocks.
Speaking to Variety last month, he said: “Do you want an honest answer? I felt stressed. I wanted to change everything… I was pulling it up and messing it up.
“You know, it was a process, so I took a while to ease in.”

Fern Britton’s ‘My Cornwall’ series ‘axed after two series’

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton’s ‘My Cornwall’ show has reportedly been dropped after two series.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant, 66, has said the region helped her heal after her divorce from TV chef Phil Vickery and the deaths of her parents, and her Channel 5 show on her new life in the country started in 2022.
A source told The Sun about the show apparently being axed: “(It) seemed to have the potential to become a regular TV event (but) this year the decision was made, to Fern’s disappointment, to not commission a third series.”
Fern moved to Cornwall from London in 2020 – but her show angered some locals who objected to the presenter “presuming it was her Cornwall”.
The former This Morning host has joined other celebrities including Levi Roots and Sharon Osbourne on ITV’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and has threatened to leave if her ex-colleague Phillip Schofield shows up.
She sook solace in Cornwall after a rollercoaster love life, which included a divorce triggered by a high Mensa test score to a ban on future husbands.
Fern first met her husband, TV executive Clive Jones, while he was still married, and the pair had an affair.
After a year, the host decided to end things but he showed up at her door two days later, having left his wife for her.
They married in 1988 and had three children together, twins Jack and Harry and daughter Grace.
But their marriage collapsed shortly after Grace was born and they split in 1998.
More than 20 years later, Fern revealed their divorce was caused by her secret IQ test, and claimed Clive was “furious” after she took and passed a Mensa exam, causing a huge rift between them.
Fern said on the ‘Walking The Dog with Emily Dean’ podcast: “He had this degree and I don’t. I secretly went off and did the Mensa.
“I lied, I said I was going somewhere else, and it took a day to do this test. I passed – and quite well too.
“Then he was furious so he did it because he’s got a huge brain. But he’s not a problem solver and he didn’t get it. So an immense rift opened.”
Fern went on to marry TV chef Phil Vickery, 62, in 2000 but they divorced 20 years later.

Harry Goodwins admits playing Ray Winstone’s son in ‘The Gentlemen’ made his dad jealous

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Goodwins says playing Ray Winstone’s son in ‘The Gentlemen’ has made his dad jealous.
The former reality TV star and model plays Jack Glass, the boxer son of Ray’s gangland boss character Bobby Glass, in Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series spin-off of his movie of the same name.
Harry told The Sun: “I was worried that Ray would take one look at me and be like, ‘No, I can’t work with this guy, he’s terrible,’ but I was immediately made to feel at ease like I was with my own family.
“It was like talking to my dad at times – and he did tell me he got jealous about Ray.”
Guy’s eight-part show also stars former ‘Skins’ actress Kaya Scodelario, 31, as drug dealer Susie.
Harry added about being starstruck by his castmates: “It was crazy walking on set on the first day and seeing Ray.
“Vinnie Jones was there – and Kaya, who I’d watched in ‘Skins’ from the age of 12, was now my big sister.”
Along with his acting work, Harry is a successful international fashion model, known for his work with brands including Prada and publications such as GQ.
Guy’s Netflix version of his 2019 film ‘The Gentlemen’ follows Eddie Horniman (played by Theo James), who has inherited his English aristocrat father’s massive estate and becomes the new Duke of Halstead – only to discover it’s sitting on top of the biggest marijuana farm in Europe, owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson.
Along with Ray, Vinnie and Kaya, the cast includes Joely Richardson, Daniel Ings, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz and Max Beesley.
Guy, 55, directs the first two episodes and executive produces alongside Matthew Read, Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson – and along with Marc Helwig for Miramax TV and Will Gould and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures.

Jeremy Clarkson slams barn critics in latest farm row

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson has hit out at critics who have called for him to use shipping containers to grow his farm produce.
The 63-year-old ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ presenter said he would never agree to their demand for him to use the crates instead of building a barn – the cost of which they say he should donate to the local community.
He said in his column for The Sunday Times: “I want to build a small stone barn so that I can grow mushrooms. But everyone is frowning and saying I should give the money this would cost to hard-working families in the community, and use a shipping container instead. But I won’t.
“Mainly because I’m running out of the damn things. We have one at the farm shop which is used for storage and one lying round in a field that’s used to house chemicals and two more which are welded together to create a farm kitchen. Honestly, my yard looks like the foyer at Maersk’s world headquarters.
“And I’m not alone. Every time you are outside a city centre railway station or on a Cornish coastal path, and you fancy a cup full of piping hot Israeli free peace coffee, and a vegan whelk, the man with the tattoo and the George Galloway T-shirt who serves it to you will be standing in a shipping container that he’s painted in all the colours of the rainbow.”
Former ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy is also at war with his local council after he revealed his plans to build a restaurant on his ‘Diddly Squat’ farm in the Cotswolds, but admitted the situation was somewhat manufactured after realising it would make good television.
He said in his column for The Sun: “After the first series of ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ aired, I went for lunch with a farmer friend who said, ‘If you want a storyline for the next series, try getting planning permission for something.’
“I was a bit puzzled and asked what he meant by ‘something’.
‘Anything,’ he replied. ‘It doesn’t matter. Because I guarantee you’ll be turned down.’
“Oh, how right he was. I came home and asked for planning permission to turn a building that was already there into a restaurant.
“A restaurant that would serve the beef, lamb, beer and potatoes that we grow on the farm. And it was like I’d asked for permission to build Studio 54.”

Rylan Clark reveals he used to ‘lactate’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark has revealed he used to “lactate” as a party trick.
The 35-year-old broadcaster, famed for his tearful breakdown on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 when he was told he was being put through to its live shows, admitted he discovered he could squeeze “stuff” from his body after fiddling with his nipple.
He was quoted in the Daily Star newspaper saying: “My trick used to be that I could lactate. I used to squeeze my nipple and stuff came out.”
Rylan added: “I can’t tell you my other party trick. It involves a Peroni bottle the other way round.”
The TV and radio host previously revealed one of his ‘X Factor’ outfits ended up ripping off his nipples.
He performed a rendition of Spandau Ballet’s ‘Gold’ on the show while wearing a metal chainmail outfit, which the singer admitted left him with an agonising pair of wounds.
He said on ‘This Morning’: “The thing is that was a gold chainmail vest. Everyone used to take the mick about my singing, but what they didn’t realise was that I was in pain.
“I lost my nipples that night. It ripped off both my nipples.
“It did though, and I came off stage and it was wet and I thought it was just sweat because of the adrenaline of the live show… but when I looked down it was red.
“There’s a lot of children watching and I don’t want to scare them.”
Rylan’s recent career moves have seen him hosting ‘Hot Mess Summer’ – which sees eight party-loving singletons travel to Zante, Greece, to serve drinks and scrub toilets for six weeks.
Rylan told The Sun about the Prime Video show: “My job isn’t to discipline, my job is to encourage them and make sure they’re enjoying it.
“But my biggest vice is being too nice to people. I get on with everyone, and it’s only if you (annoy me) that we’re done, because I’ve got a sting in my tail.”

Katy O’Brian hopes that Love Lies Bleeding shows her ability as a ‘serious’ performer

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy O’Brian hopes to prove her versatility as an actress in ‘Love Lies Bleeding’.
The 35-year-old star features opposite Kristen Stewart in the new romantic thriller and thinks that it will show audiences that she is capable of more than just sci-fi parts, which she has played in ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Z Nation’.
Katy told Entertainment Weekly: “I do hope that it shows people that I can do something other than sci-fi, that I can take on a serious, dramatic role, and that I can be believable as something other than a military persona.”
In the film, O’Brian plays bodybuilder Jackie – who falls romantically for the reclusive gym manager Lou (Stewart) but finds herself tangled up in her lover’s crime family – and is hopeful that audiences can relate to the 1980s-set story from director Rose Glass.
She said: “I also think it’s a movie that’s very much made to entertain, and you can go as deep as you want with it. But I also love just being able to show a queer relationship and it not be perfect and it not be full of humility, and that the queerness isn’t at all the purpose of the story.”
Katy and Kristen share intimate scenes during the film and the ‘Black Lightning’ actress revealed that a joint awkwardness helped the pair overcome any embarrassment.
She explained: “My whole thing was I wanted to make sure Kristen felt completely comfortable, didn’t feel like she was being taken advantage of or anything like that, and she for sure went out of her way to do the same.
“We were just two nerds bouncing around with excitement about the movie, but also just being very awkward and wanting to make sure that we weren’t stepping on each other’s toes.”

The First Omen trailer teases terrifying horror movie

OHMYGOSSIP — A terrifying new trailer for ‘The First Omen’ has been released.
The Arkasha Stevenson-directed movie centres on a young American woman who is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church.
While she’s in the Italian capital, the woman encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith. The character discovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
The new trailer features some brief clips from the upcoming movie and hints at the heart-racing moments that will await fans of the ‘Omen’ franchise.
‘The First Omen’ is based on characters created by David Seltzer and stars the likes of Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sonia Braga, Ralph Ineson, Charles Dance and Bill Nighy.
The upcoming psychological horror film is a prequel to the classic horror franchise, and is due to open in cinemas on April 5.
In 2023, Nell teased details about the new horror movie.
The 24-year-old actress – who played Leanne Grayson in the TV series ‘Servant’ – told The Hollywood Reporter: “I can tell you that we have finished shooting. We have made the movie. It matches ‘Servant’ with how much I truly loved the project and how excited I am about it.”
Despite this, Nell acknowledged that the two projects are “wildly different”, adding that she feels “very proud” of ‘The First Omen’.
She said: “Even though there are notes and elements that are similar to ‘Servant’ and Leanne, it’s so wildly different. So it’s going to be really cool. At least I hope it’s going to be really cool. I’m very proud of it.”

Fern Britton, Lauren Simon and Louis Walsh to face public vote

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton, Lauren Simon and Louis Walsh will all face the public vote on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 66-year-old presenter, Lauren and Louis are all at risk of eviction from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house, after they received the most nominations from the other housemates.
Lauren received nominations from Bradley, Colson, David, Fern, Levi, Marisha, Nikita and Zeze, while Louis received nominations from Bradley, Colson, Marisha and Zeze.
Sharon Osbourne – who has served as the show’s Celebrity Lodger – has been afforded the chance to save one of the nominated housemates from eviction.

Soap star Jamie Lomas quits Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lomas has quit ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 48-year-old actor – who played Warren Fox on the long-running soap – has decided to walk away from the show at the end of his current contract.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Jamie has been at the centre of some of the soap’s biggest storylines and has been back in ‘Hollyoaks’ now for nearly eight years, which is a long time.
“It’s been a long stint which he has loved but with all the changes going on he felt the time was right to move on.”
In February, Channel 4 announced plans to cut ‘Hollyoaks’ from five episodes a week to just three, and Jamie has decided that now is the ideal time for him to walk away from the programme.
The insider added: “He told bosses last week and they are already working on his exit storyline.
“The door will be left open and it is hoped he’ll be back again as Warren Fox on day.”
Meanwhile, Ian Katz, the chief content officer at Channel 4, recently claimed that the show’s revamp will ensure that ‘Hollyoaks’ remains “compulsive viewing for a new generation of fans as viewing habits change”.
He said: “The show has always been at the forefront of innovation in all of its forms, including increasing and decreasing episode numbers in response to viewing habits. These changes are a decisive step forward, designed to reflect how audiences are watching.
“A tighter schedule promises a new era of more scale and impact. We are of course mindful of the impacts on the production team and will work closely with (production company) Lime Pictures to minimise these where possible.”

Casualty’s Derek Thompson says final episode as Charlie was ‘big emotional moment’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Casualty’ legend Derek Thompson says bidding farewell to the show after 38 years playing nurse Charlie Fairhead was a “big emotional” moment.
The 75-year-old actor quit the BBC hospital drama in 2023 and viewers are currently awaiting the news of whether or not his alter ego will survive after he was stabbed by a patient.
Derek told OK! magazine of his exit: “I don’t want to spoil it by saying whether or not he survives, but everything felt heightened when I filmed my last scenes.
“It felt like one of those big emotional moments in your life, like the birth of a child or your wedding.”
Derek – who met his real-life second wife, Dee Sadler, on the show – never imagined becoming the last remaining original member of the cast when he first landed the role.
He said: “No, I never envisaged I’d stay 38 years.
“I originally signed up for three years, but it soon became apparent what a great character he was to play. Medicine and television have both changed a lot since I started. But the basics are still there – the reception area and desk where people roll up is still performing the same function it did on my first day.”
Despite being considered a TV legend, Derek admitted he feels like “a long-distance runner”.
He laughed: “No, I don’t see myself as a legend.
“That’s someone who does something extraordinarily consistently. I see myself as a long-distance runner – one that never gives up and just keeps on going…”
He might not be doing ‘Casualty’ anymore, but Derek has no plans to retire from acting anytime soon, with his new roles including playing police officer Robin Graham in the new series of BBC One’s crime drama ‘Blue Lights’.
Asked if he’ll ever stop working, he said: “Definitely not!
“No way am I retiring.
“I’m busier than ever and I’m working on some musical projects at the moment. In Blue Lights , I play a retired police officer, Robin Graham, whose past – and conscience – catch up with him when a trainee solicitor decides to investigate a decade-old case.”

Horror movie Azrael was written with Billie Eilish in mind

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish was almost cast in new horror movie ‘Azrael’.
The ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker is yet to make her debut in a feature length film, but ‘Azrael’ director E.L. Katz has revealed how one of the main characters was created with the 22-year-old pop star in mind.
She told Collider: “So, Azrael, [Simon Barrett] wrote that in what felt like two weeks or three weeks or something.
“It was something I’d never read, even from him, and it was almost like all of his sensibilities distilled in this austere experiential thing with no fat at all.
“I loved it and I just wanted to see it get made. At first, Simon was going to direct it. I wanted that to happen. We wanted Billie Eilish to be in it, or something.”
The movie stars Samara Weaving in the lead role, and she suspects Eilish was in line for her part.
When Barrett and Katz were asked which character Eilish would have played, she quickly replied: “Mine, I’m assuming.”
The singer made her acting debut in Amazon Prime Video ‘Swarm’, which recently earned her athe People’s Choice Award for TV performance of the year.
The series launched early in 2023, following an obsessive fan who takes things to murderous extremes as she seeks to defend the reputation of her favourite pop star.
Eilish featured in the fourth episode as Eva, head of a small cult of women who take in Dominique Fisback’s character Dre.
Speaking at the People’s Choice Awards last month, Billie heaped praise on show creator Donald Glover for being a “lifelong inspiration” and making her “the artist I am today”.
She added: “I want to dedicate this to Dominique Fishback because that show is all about her. She brought her whole cooch into that show.
“And she really carried the hell out of it. She taught me everything I know. That whole experience I owe to her.
“She deserves this more than I do. She’s incredible, she is beautiful, she is talented, she should be cast in everything forever.”

This Is Spinal Tap sequel begins production, Elton John, Paul McCartney and more confirmed to cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — The sequel to 1984 cult classic ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ will feature cameos from Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Questlove, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
The hotly anticipated follow-up to the mockumentary – which is once again helmed by Rob Reiner – has commenced production in New Orleans, and will see Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer reprise their roles as the fictional heavy metal band Spinal Tap, with huge names also set to make appearances.
Reiner will also be back as the documentarian Martin “Marty” DiBergi and produce alongside Michele Reiner and Matthew George for Castle Rock Entertainment banner. Christopher H. Warner and Derrick Rossi serve as executive producers.
Reiner said: “I recently spoke to Marty DiBergi who said that he was more than happy to take a sabbatical from his position as a visiting Professor’s Assistant at the Ed Wood School of Cinematic Arts to once again document Spinal Tap to ensure their place in the pantheon of Rock and Roll.”
In 2002, the original film was deemed to be “culturally, historically and aesthetically significant” by the US Library of Congress and was selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.
Reiner previously explained that he wanted the sequel to be released in 2024 to mark 40 years since the original flick.
The filmmaker told Deadline: “The plan is to do a sequel that comes out on the 40th anniversary of the original film and I can tell you hardly a day goes by without someone saying, why don’t you do another one?
“For so many years, we said, ‘Nah’. It wasn’t until we come up with the right idea how to do this. You don’t want to just do it, to do it. You want to honour the first one and push it a little further with the story.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Osbourne saved Zeze Millz on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ because she reminds her of “somebody she loves”.
The outspoken star was given the power to view her housemates submitting their nominations for the next eviction, and then choose to save one of the three candidates.
With Lauren Simon, Louis Walsh and Zeze all up for eviction, Sharon chose to save the latter.

The 71-year-old star then had to replace Zeze with another housemate, and she settled on Fern Britton.
She said: “I think the older ones stick out like a sore thumb. I’m not ageist at all, but I’m saying for the house, people have gone off in groups.
“Fern is a beautiful and gracious lady, and I’m happy that I got to meet her.”
Now, it is down to the public with viewers getting to vote to send either Lauren, Louis or Fern home.
