Edgar Wright working on Baby Driver sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Edgar Wright has confirmed ‘Baby Driver 2’ is in the works.
The 43-year-old filmmaker wrote and directed the 2017 widely acclaimed crime thriller starring Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jon Hamm, and following its success, Wright played coy about a potential sequel.
However, now Wright has confirmed he is working on writing a sequel and has “lots if ideas”.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Wright said: “Those talks are already in the works. The deal is being hammered out as we speak.
“Hopefully, I’m going to at least write a second one. I’ve definitely got lots of ideas. Whether it’s the next movie, I don’t know.
“I’m just working that out at the moment, actually. I have a couple of things that I’ve been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things that I’ve been offered since.”
‘Baby Driver’ follows getaway driver Baby (Elgort) who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game.
After meeting the woman of his dreams (James), he sees a chance to ditch his shady lifestyle and make a clean break.
However, he is coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey) and he must face the music as a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
Although Wright is currently writing a sequel, he is hoping to move his next project a little faster after the four year wait between ‘The World’s End’ and ‘Baby Driver’.
He said: “I would like to get back on the saddle very shortly, because – slightly beyond my control – but there was four years between ‘The World’s End’ and ‘Baby Driver’.
“I don’t want it to be that long again. I would love to have a film out in the next two years.”

John Boyega wants Yoda origin story

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega wants to see a Yoda origin story.
The 25-year-old actor made his first outing as Stormtrooper-turned-Resistance fighter Finn in 2015’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and will reprise this role in ‘The Last Jedi’.
Recently Disney and Lucasfilm have announced they are working with Rian Johnson – who helmed the eighth instalment of the hit sci-fi franchise – on a brand new trilogy separate from the current Skywalker saga and more spin-offs are planned.
Boyega believes there are some great “fan theories” that could be used as story ideas for the big screen.
Speaking to Collider, Boyega said: “I think they need to go back to the Old Republic, how they do in the games, and discover what’s going on there.
“There’s some cool stuff in the ‘Star Wars’ universe they can use, there’s cool fan theories they can use that could be part of the movies too, I mean, why not? Personally, I want to see a Yoda origin story.”
Yoda is the fan favourite, tiny green Jedi Master who appeared in two of the three original trilogy films and all the prequels.
The character died during ‘Episode VI: Return of the Jedi’ but was seen as a Jedi-Force ghost alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker at the end of the film.
Yoda has also appeared in the animated TV spin-off series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’.
The ‘Star Wars’ universe has already been expanded away from the main movies with ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and the upcoming Han Solo spin-off.
Also there are reports circulating of an Obi-Wan Kenobi film in the works and Boyega admitted he would love to see that film made.
He said: “I’m there. I want to know what he was like, I want to know where he originated from in terms of him being a character being young.”

Jason Momoa: Zack Snyder changed Aquaman look

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa says it was Zack Snyder who wanted to revamp Aquaman’s look in ‘Justice League’.
The 38-year-old actor had a very brief cameo as Aquaman Arthur Curry in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and made his big outing as the character in the latest DC Extended Universe movie released this year.
However, fans of DC Comics were shocked to see the brunette, tattooed hunk as the trident-wielding Atlantean – who is usually blonde with a gold and green superhero costume – but now Momoa has spilled that it was Snyder’s idea to have Curry tattooed and with long hair.
In the ‘Justice League: The Art of the Film’ book, Momoa said: “Zack [Snyder] had the idea for the tattoos. Everyone wanted to have a little bit of blond in hair. For the eyes, I always liked that Van Gogh green colour you can get lost in; it draws you in, but you’re also scared by it. So I wanted to have that look.”
The character was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger and first debuted in ‘More Fun Comics #73’ back in 1941.
Initially as a backup feature in DC’s anthology titles, the Aquaman later starred in several volumes of a solo comic book series.
Momoa is set to reprise his role as the fan favourite superhero – who has the ability to communicate with creatures of the sea – in the upcoming standalone movie directed by James Wan.
In October, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star took to his Instagram account to pay tribute to the cast and crew as production on the hotly-anticipated movie completed in Australia, and he thanked ‘Justice League’s Snyder for choosing him for the part.
Momoa is set to star alongside Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe as well as Nicole Kidman who revealed she was on board with the movie and admitted the director was the big draw for her.

Rian Johnson encouraged to find personal Star Wars story

OHMYGOSSIP — Rian Johnson was “actively encouraged” to find a story that was “personal” to him for ‘The Last Jedi’ by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
The 43-year-old filmmaker has helmed the eighth instalment in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise and he has revealed that during the pre-production stage he felt as though he was “nurtured” and “protected” for coming up with his own ideas for the sci-fi movie by Kennedy – who has also acted as the brand manager for ‘Star Wars’ since Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012.
Speaking to website io9, Johnson said: “From the very beginning I had a very good relationship with Kathy. It was really collaborative and I felt very protected by her. And beyond the creative freedom I was given to find what the story was going to be, all the folks at Lucasfilm understood how personal the original films were for George Lucas. So [Lucasfilm] actively encouraged me, not allowed me, but actively pushed me to find what was personal about this story for me. To find a story that was personal and would mean something deeply to me. And they nurtured that and protected that. I think the fact we all knew the movie we were making and were excited about it from day [meant] we had a great experience.”
‘The Last Jedi’ sees ‘Star Wars’ legends Mark Hamill return as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker – who was seen briefly in the 2015 ‘The Force Awakens’ – and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa as the battle between the First Order and Resistance rages on in the galaxy.
Other cast members include Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux) who are all reprising their roles.
Although Johnson will not be helming ‘Episode IX’ – which has been passed over to J.J. Abrams who directed ‘The Force Awakens’ – the filmmaker was recently announced to be working on a brand new trilogy separate from the Skywalker saga.
While promoting ‘The Last Jedi’ at a press event in Mexico, Johnson said he’s only at the “very beginning” of starting the new trilogy.
He said: “We’re gonna have to see. I’m just in the very beginning of starting to come up with what the new trilogy is going to be.
“What makes me so excited about it, is the idea of doing a new story on the big canvas of three movies in this world. There’s just so much potential and I can’t wait to jump into it.”

Sir Ridley Scott to make AI led Alien movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ridley Scott wants to do more ‘Alien’ movies but with more focus on artificial intelligence.
The 80-year-old filmmaker cemented his status as a sci-fi legend with his breakthrough 1979 movie and also went on to helm 1982 cult classic of the genre ‘Blade Runner’.
After having no involvement with the three ‘Alien’ sequels, Scott revisited the cinematic universe in 2012 with prequel ‘Prometheus’, which explored the origins of the human race and the deadly Xenomorph creature, and released follow-up film ‘Alien: Covenant’ in May this year.
Scott has previously confirmed he will making a sequel to his last movie which will act as a bridge to the original ‘Alien’ and he has now spilled that the story will focus on dangerous Artificial Intelligence beings.
Speaking about the future of his prequel series to ‘Entertainment Weekly’, Scott said: “We are [going to make another], we are. I think what we have to do is gradually drift away from the alien stuff. People say, ‘you need more alien, you need more face pulling, need more chest bursting’, so I put a lot of that in ‘Covenant’ and it fitted nicely. But I think if you go again you need to start finding another solution that’s more interesting. I think AI is becoming much more dangerous and therefore more interesting.
“[Michael] Fassbender was an AI. Ian Holm [‘Alien’] was an AI; Roy Batty [‘Blade Runner’] was an AI; so was Rachael [‘Blade Runner’].”
‘Alien: Covenant’ follows members on board the colony ship ‘Covenant’ discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise.
However, while there they meet David (Michael Fassbender) – the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
The world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien-life form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.
The acclaimed ‘Alien’ was followed by director James Cameron’s all-action romp ‘Aliens’ in 1986, David Fincher’s atmospheric ‘Alien 3’ in 1992 and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s much derided ‘Alien: Resurrection’ in 1997 – written by ‘Avengers’ creator Joss Whedon.
Two panned ‘Alien vs. Predator’ spin-offs came in the Noughties, inspired by a video game series which pitted the Xenomorph against the Predator intergalactic hunter – a being established in a separate series of movies which began in 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role.

Quentin Tarantino to direct Star Trek movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino wants to direct the next ‘Star Trek’ movie.
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ director has reportedly shared his idea for the next Starship Enterprise adventure with J.J. Abrams, who is said to have agreed to produce the film if it works out.
According to Deadline, Tarantino is keen to take the helm of the ‘Star Trek’ franchise and has come up with a storyline for the next movie.
J.J. – who helmed the last two ‘Star Trek’ films for Paramount, but is now busy working on the ‘Star Wars’ franchise – has apparently agreed for Tarantino to meet with a team of writers to take his idea to the next level.
The ‘Kill Bill’ filmmaker tends to write and direct his own original ideas on the big screen, most recently taking on the Western genre with his last two films ‘Django Unchained’ and ‘The Hateful Eight’.
He has worked with franchises on the small screen, directing episodes of ‘CSI’ and ‘ER’.
Tarantino is currently prepping a movie about Charles Manson, which he had begun work on before the cult leader died in November this year.
Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence are among the actresses he is said to have approached to play Sharon Tate – the pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski – who was stabbed to death by members of the Manson Family in August 1969.
Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are all said to have been in discussions for two male lead roles.

Bryan Singer ‘sacked’ from Bohemian Rhapsody

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryan Singer has confirmed he is no longer directing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, claiming 20th Century Fox refused to give him time off to look after an unwell parent.
The 52-year-old filmmaker has claimed his services were “terminated” by the studio after he asked for some time off to go back to the US to deal with “pressing health matters concerning one of my parents”.
In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Singer said: “I wanted nothing more than to be able to finish this project and help honour the legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen, but Fox would not permit me to do so because I needed to temporarily put my health, and the health of my loved ones, first.
“‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is a passion project of mine. With fewer than three weeks to shoot remaining, I asked Fox for some time off so I could return to the US to deal with pressing health matters concerning one of my parents. This was a very taxing experience, which ultimately took a serious toll on my own health. Unfortunately, the studio was unwilling to accommodate me and terminated my services. This was not my decision and it was beyond my control.”
Singer has denied speculation his exit was down to “a dispute” with lead star Rami Malek – who will play the band’s late frontman Freddie in the motion picture – but admitted they did have “creative differences” on set at times.
He added: “Rumours that my unexpected departure from the film was sparked by a dispute I had with Rami Malek are not true.
“While, at times, we did have creative differences on set, Rami and I successfully put those differences behind us and continued to work on the film together until just prior to Thanksgiving.”
20th Century Fox confirmed Singer had departed the role, but didn’t say why.
They said in a statement: “Bryan Singer is no longer the director of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody'”
The studio revealed over the weekend that filming for the upcoming movie had been temproarily suspended due to a personal “health matter” affecting Singer.
They said: “Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer due to a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family… Bryan hopes to get back to work on the film soon after the holidays.”
‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ will chart the rock band’s story up to their appearance at the Live Aid charity concert in 1985.
As well as Malek, Ben Hardy will portray drummer Roger Taylor, Joe Mazzello is in line to star as bassist John Deacon and Gwilym Lee will play lead guitarist Brian May.

Celebrity Big Brother to launch live on January 2nd

OHMYGOSSIP — The new series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will launch live on January 2 2018.
After it was announced on Monday (04.12.17) that the forthcoming series of the Channel 5 reality show will see an all-female cast head into the iconic house in commemoration of 100 years since women won the right to vote for the very first time, bosses have now revealed the programme will hit screens once again in just under a month’s time, with a live launch on January 2.
As well as announcing the launch date, the programme has also revealed the design of the iconic eye logo, which this year features a black and white female eye complete with eyeliner and mascara, as well as a multicoloured iris.
In their previous announcement, bosses revealed the series will also include male contestants who will enter the house in the second week, giving the female stars – whose identities have not yet been revealed, but will range from politicians to performing artists – a full week to interact with one another in honour of the historical milestone.
A statement from Channel 5 said: “Presented by Emma Willis, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will initially explore how the all-female housemates interact, from politicians to performing artists, as they enter the house first, ahead of the celebrity male housemates. Over the course of the series, as the male counterparts enter the house, the housemates will take part in a series of entertaining tasks and hidden experiments which will test their – and our – assumptions, challenge gender stereotypes and reveal fascinating truths about what it is to be a woman – and man – in the 21st century.”
The return of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will also be accompanied by spin-off show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side’, which is hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal.
‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will launch live on Channel 5 at 9pm on Tuesday, January 2 2018.

Pete Wicks to release dog book

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Wicks is releasing a doggy book.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star was left devastated last year when his beloved pet pooch Ernest sadly died at the young age of just three after he contracted a life-threatening illness and, in order to raise awareness and educate people on French Bulldogs, he’s decided to pen a tome called ‘For the Love of Frenchies’ and will release it next year.
Taking to his Twitter account, the 28-year-old hunk said: “Here it is guys…
“I’m so excited to be revealing the cover of my new book #ForTheLoveOfFrenchies – I can’t wait for you all to read about this amazing breed as well stories about myself, Eric and my sorely missed boy Ernest. (sic)”
The book – which will document Pete’s life with his other canine Eric – will drop on February 22 and is available to buy in hardback for £14.99 or in Kindle form for £9.99.
The description on Amazon said: ” In 2016, Pete was devastated to suddenly lose his adored French Bulldog Ernest at just three years old. His wolfpack was torn apart. Left to pick up the pieces with Eric, he realised that he knew very little about the breed and the reason why Ernie died so young. In honour of his old pal, Pete teamed up with animal charities and uncovered the shocking unregulated breeding and illegal importation that led to the life-threatening illness Ernest suffered from.
“And the problem is widespread. But if you want one of the best companion dogs you could ever own, a pup that is affectionate and playful (or some would say mischievous), then a French Bulldog is perfect for you.
“Here Pete reveals the many tips he’s learned for a happy life with a Frenchie, and how we can all help to eradicate the problems facing the breed. Most touchingly, for the first time he bravely recounts that love and grief we all feel for a special dog.”

Loose Women delays going on air after fire alarm

OHMYGOSSIP — The start of ‘Loose Women’ was delayed on Tuesday afternoon (05.11.17) when a fire alarm rang out seconds before the show went live.
Christine Lampard revealed how the panel – which included Ayda Field, Janet Street Porter and Nadia Sawalha – were just about to walk out to greet the audience when the alarm started going and they all had to be evacuated.
An old episode of the show started playing before it was cut off by an error in transmission message.
A voice over told viewers: “Well apologies for that temporary suspension of today’s live ‘Loose Women’, we can now happily tell you we’re returning to the studio.”
Christine, Ayda, Janet and Nadia then all walked onto the set and the 38-year-old television presenter revealed just what had happened.
She said: “Welcome to Tuesday’s ‘Loose Women’ where we nearly weren’t going to come on! Did you notice that? The fire alarm went off literally seconds before we were supposed to come out and say hello. The audience all had to leave and we didn’t know what was going on. But we are back ladies and gentlemen!”
Later in the programme, Ayda – whose husband Robbie Williams was on the show – quipped he was the cause of the problem as when he was backstage visiting her last time, the whole show was plunged into darkness due to a lighting error.
And it is not the first time shows have been taken off air due to unexpected circumstances.
Back in 2016, ‘Good Morning Britain’ was taken off air after a fire broke out in the London studio.
A statement released by London Fire Brigade said at the time: “Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers have tackled a small fire at ITV Studios on London’s Southbank this morning. Part of a post room on the first floor was damaged by fire. The fire meant that ‘Good Morning Britain’ was taken off air.”
No-one was hurt and the fire was put out almost immediately.

Mike Thalassitis quits football

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s ‘Muggy’ Mike Thalassitis has quit football.
The 24-year-old hunk – who used to play semi-professional – has decided to turn his back on his soccer career for the time being because he wants to focus on showbiz now that he’s joined the forthcoming series of ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “I’ve sacked it off.
“I’m so looking forward to a winter without having to wake up in the freezing cold and go and play football for £300 a week. I’m done with it.
“I might eat my words because everything goes quiet for me I might have to go back and beg for a contract. But I’m hoping I can keep things going. Keep the wave going.”
The womaniser landed himself in hot water over the summer when he jetted off to Majorca, Spain, to film ‘Love Island’ without asking his football manager first.
Margate Football Club’s manager Steve Watt said at the time: “I wouldn’t say I’m fuming to be honest.
“The disappointing factor is he hasn’t let me know. It’s not an ideal situation for me… I’d have appreciated at least a call to say he would be going on the show.
“He’s very easy on the eye Thala. At this level as a manager you’ve got to take into consideration that the football isn’t their first income. You’re dealing with players who’ve got labourers jobs, plasterers jobs, whatever jobs. He’s seen it as an opportunity, like he says, he can’t turn down. But the disappointing thing is that he didn’t pick the phone up and let me know.
“It’s laughable. I didn’t think I’d be sitting in this position with one of my players going onto a TV show and potentially missing preseason.”

Gemma Atkinson ‘wishes’ she had a boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson “wishes” she was in a relationship.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star would love to settle down and get married one day but wants to find the right person first.
She told Women’s Health magazine: “No, I’m not dating anyone at the moment. I wish I was. It’s like I go through phases. I said to my mum the other day, ‘It’d be nice to have a fella.’ Then the day after, I was like, ‘I’m so glad I’m on my own!’
“I’d much rather be on my own and be happy than be in the wrong situation with the wrong person. I would love marriage and I would love kids, but not until I’m in a place where I’m ready for them. I don’t want to just fit the mould because I’m running out of time. No chance!”
At the start of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, Gemma confessed she was hoping to find romance on the BBC latin and ballroom show.
She said: “I’ve been single for ages so there wouldn’t be any curse for me. It would be a blessing.”
However, the 33-year-old actress – who has been romantically linked to ‘Strictly’ professional Gorka Marquez – insists she won’t be getting into a relationship during her time on the show.
She revealed: “Maybe once the series is over, but not right now … we’ll see what happens. I know people want to see a Strictly romance but I’m not going to be giving you any I’m afraid, because I’m so focused on my dancing.”

Kem Cetinay’s festive plans ‘up in smoke’ after split

OHMYGOSSIP — Kem Cetinay’s festive plans have “gone up in smoke” now he’s split with Amber Davies.
The ‘Love Island’ hunk was hoping to have the brunette beauty, her mother and her father travel down from their home in Denbigh, North Wales, later this month to spend Christmas Day (25.12.17) with his family in Essex, but he’ll have to rethink the arrangements for special day now that him and his co-stat have decided to separate.
A source told The Sun Online: “Kem had grand plans for his first Christmas with Amber, and her mum, dad and family were going to his to celebrate it. But it’s all gone up in smoke.”
The couple – who were together for four months after meeting and falling in love while taking part in the dating show – announced their separation earlier this week, blaming their split on their busy schedules, but claimed they were determined to remain friends.
They said in a statement: “With sadness, we’ve decided to separate.
“We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.
“Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”
Some people believe Kem’s on-going ‘Dancing on Ice’ gig may have been the reason as the 20-year-old hunk has spent almost every day training on the rink for the reboot.
Alex Bowen – who won ‘Love Island’ in 2016 – said: “I think their split is shocking because they won the show and everyone thought they were the best couple. But you don’t know what you’ve got to handle on the outside. You don’t know how if you’ll be living on different sides of the country, you don’t know how much work you’ll be getting. The fact Kem got ‘Dancing On Ice’ – that will be taking up a lot of his time.”
Amber, 21, has since taken to her social networking sites to thank her fans for their support.
She said: “Would just like to say I am incredibly overwhelmed by everyone’s lovely messages and comments. The love and support from you all has been absolutely heartwarming. Thank you so much (sic)”

Steven Moffat won’t write for Doctor Who again

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat will never write for ‘Doctor Who’ again.
The departing show runner – who has worked on the sci-fi series on and off since 2004 – has decided he’ll no longer offer up anymore storylines for the programme once he hands the reins over to Chris Chibnall next year because he feels like he’s done “enough” and wants to “draw a line under it” and move on to other things.
When asked if he will follow his predecessor Russell T Davies by refusing to write for the show again, the 56-year-old producer said: “I’ll draw a line under it. I’ve written more than anybody else, not even by a small margin now. So that seems enough.”
But, although he doesn’t want to be involved with the show anymore, he has high hopes for the future and believes ‘Doctor Who’ will remain on screens for many more year.
He added: “Absolutely 100 per cent optimistic. I don’t think we’re anywhere close to halfway through the new series run. There’s a huge amount of excitement in Jodie as the new Doctor. It’s going to pep things up. It’s going to be around forever. And it’s about to enter a golden period … Chris is an extraordinary talent to get to be the third show runner on a show that’d been going for 12 years.”
And Moffat – who has also created and written for ‘Sherlock’ – is convinced the new instalment will be very “bold” and different from what the viewers are used to seeing.
He said: “I shouldn’t speculate but I think Chris is going to be bold. That’s his nature. And he knows ‘Doctor Who’ very well and he’d think the time has arrived to be bold.”
Chibnall, 47, has already decided to switch things up by casting Jodie Whittaker as the first ever female to play the leading role but Moffat has admitted he toyed with the idea of casting a lady before he decided to go with Peter Capaldi four years ago.
He added: “I did, although if we’d replaced David Tennant with a woman it wouldn’t have worked. It was too early. We could have replaced Matt Smith with a woman, given that his Doctor was more sexless and less of a lad, but then I got obsessed with seeing Peter Capaldi in the Tardis. No regrets about that! … But it was Chris who made the really big decision, and all credit to him.”

Coronation Street’s Anna Windass to be killed off?

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Debbie Rush has hinted that her alter-ego Anna Windass will be killed off by monster murderer Pat Phelan.
The 51-year-old actress has portrayed the waitress since 2008, and is set to depart the show at the end of the year, with Anna appearing on screens until early 2018.
And the bubbly brunette has revealed that she has no idea whether she’ll be returning in the future, as there is a possibility that she could die at the hands of the evil cowboy builder [Connor McIntyre].
She said: “Everyone wants Anna to bring him down. I still get little old ladies to young lads shouting ‘Oi, Anna, when you gonna get Phelan?’ So everyone wants him done in, and they all want Anna to do it.”
And asked if she will be leaving the door open to return to the ITV soap after she’s left, Anna teased: “Well, it would depend on whether Anna is dead or alive…”
And quizzed further whether it would bother her not being able to reprise the role, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she admitted: “I said it was up to the writers to do whatever they liked – whatever is best, even if the door is shut permanently. I wasn’t bothered either way.”
Viewers have had mixed opinions about Anna being raped by Pat, but Debbie says it was an important aspect as an older woman being forced into having sex.
The actress also thinks it would make sense for Anna to be the one to point the gun at him.
She said: “As a woman, I know there has been a debate for some time over did he rape her or didn’t he rape her?
“Well, he did, because she was coerced into having sex with him to protect her family.
“We’ve just done the Bethany Platt [Lucy Fallon] storyline and the nation is on Bethany’s side and knows she was groomed and raped. Anna was a grown woman who was groomed and raped.
“That’s the way I’ve played it and why, for me, Anna would be the one to bring him down with justice.”

Kym Marsh’s daughter rushed to hospital with croup

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh’s daughter was rushed to hospital last week.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress was given the fright of her life last month when her six-year-old daughter Polly – whose father Jamie Lomas is currently in Australia taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ – was gasping for air after contracting a cold.
Writing in her column for OK! magazine, she said: “There was a bit of a drama in our household last week. Polly started to develop a cough and a cold, but on Wednesday night at 11.30pm she just started gasping for breath.
“I had to rush her over to Salford Royal Hospital. It turned out she’d got croup. It’s something that children up to the age of three can get but Polly is six. It was horrible and her cough sounded like she was sea lion. I didn’t get to bed until 5am and even then I couldn’t sleep. The hospital were brilliant and the staff put Polly at ease because she was terrified. It was really horrible to see.”
The youngster was given a course of steroids and appears to be on the mend but can’t wait to be reunited with her dad when he comes back from his jungle gig Down Under.
Kym, 41, explained: “Polly is dying to see him on the telly and is really missing him. She is going to give him the biggest cuddle ever when he comes back from the jungle …
“We’ve been laughing at Jamie’s snoring keeping everybody awake. I’m surprised it’s taken that long to come out!
“It’s funny they made him prime minister. If he was actual prime minister it would God help the country! He’s certainly been entertaining and he’s coming across well.”
