Iain Lee places third on I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Iain Lee has placed third on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’.
The 44-year-old presenter and comedian finished third on the jungle show, leaving Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo and Jamie Lomas to fight to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Speaking after his exit, Iain admitted the show was harder than he thought it would be.
He said: “I nearly walked on my third day, on the Saturday … I tell you what was harder, the trials weren’t that hard. When you watch it, the trials are such a big part but they’re such a small part when you’re in it. For me, being around lots of people [was the hardest part] because I don’t; I’m very solitary. I work with just me and a producer so being around lots of people made me so uncomfortable. I’m so socially awkward.”
And the talkRADIO host opened up about the rift between the boys in camp, which led to him being accused of playing a game.
He added: “It was very alpha in there and I’m more of a beta. Maybe even a gamma. There was a lot of testosterone in there … I said this yesterday, the closest I had to a plan was come in last, get out first, have a lovely holiday.
“It really upset me when they said I was playing a game. A few of them said that. Because what game was I playing, I couldn’t have randomly chosen immunity. I had no game plan, I was just being me. I’ve got so much respect for all of them. Thank you for the opportunity, I’ve loved it.”

Ruby Rose: ‘Pitch Perfect is about female empowerment’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Rose was attracted to ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ because it is about “female empowerment”.
The ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress joins the franchise as a member of a rival music group to the Barden Bellas and Ruby loves how the films depict strong female friendships.
She told You Magazine: “I love that Pitch Perfect is about friendship. The girls have relationships and crushes but the central story is about how much they mean to one another and about female empowerment.
“The Bellas are all very different in terms of size, sexuality, race and personality, and together they’re so strong, which is great because kids can look up to these women.”
And Ruby was thrilled to work with stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.
She said: “Working with Anna was incredible. I’d look at her and go, ‘Are you serious?’ because her pitch is amazing…perfect. She never hits a dead note.
“Ah. I just want to eat Rebel on toast, I love her madly. Rebel, myself and my bandmates from the film went to an open-mic night and we performed ‘I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll’.”
However, Ruby admitted that singing on screen left her terrified.
She said: “I have always played sports, so action is safe for me. ‘Pitch Perfect’ meant singing in front of a thousand people, which was much harder than falling out of a window or firing guns. But it’s good to do things outside your comfort zone.”
Meanwhile, lesbian star Ruby, 31, is hopeful that she can be a role model for young LGBT fans as there were very few role models for her when she was growing up.
She said: “If I’d seen more gay people [in the media] it might have been easier. Angelina Jolie was the only person I related to because she was a little different and had tattoos and was cool and badass, but also because she came out and said she was bisexual.”

John Boyega’s Star Wars drama

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega made it to the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday (09.12.17) despite fears he would be trapped in Atlanta by a snowstorm.
The 25-year-old actor – who plays Finn in the franchise – took to Twitter to reveal that he could not get a flight out of Atlanta due to the weather.
He wrote: “Wow ATL. Looks like no one’s leaving! Guess I’ll start a family now….
“Cold! My thighs won’t even generate the heat anymore.
“Trying to get back for the LA premiere! I actually NEED a pilot !!! (sic)”
When director Rian Johnson tweeted: “Hahahaha oh my god GET HERE JOHN!”, he jokingly replied: “Roger that! BB-8 PUNCH IT!!! (sic)”
John finally made it to Los Angeles for the premiere at The Shrine auditorium but made time to poke fun at his co-star Harrison Ford’s flying skills, when someone suggested the actor and pilot should fly him in.
He tweeted: “I made it ! Without luggage but wooooooooohoooo! As if weather can stop a Nigerian kmt.
“Harrison will land that ship in the damn auditorium! I’m here though thank you and thanks everyone ! See you tonight. I need a shower because…..ew. (sic)”
And Mark Hamill joined in with the teasing, writing: “Only fly with Harrison on green-screen, son. #FatherlyAdvice.”
John continued with the Star Wars references at the premiere when he was asked about his journey.
According to Deadline, he referred to Oscar Isaac’s character and quipped: “Poe Dameron is the best pilot in the galaxy.”

Jodie Foster found acting tough

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Foster found acting “cruel and hard”.
The ‘Silence of the Lambs’ actress has moved behind the camera in recent years but she admitted she doesn’t think she’d have even been a film star if she hadn’t been “thrown into” her career at the age of just three.
She said: “I don’t think I would have been an actor had I not been thrown into it at the age of three.
“It’s just not my personality. Maybe that’s what’s made my work interesting. But it’s been really cruel and hard to be an actor.”
And the 55-year-old star has deliberately tried to stay out of the spotlight as much as she can because she hates the idea of being seen as a “celebrity”.
She said:” It’s hard for me to live with myself as the idea of celebrity.
“It makes me feel like I’m in a reality show. So I think I’ve neurotically gone in the other direction. I was raised in the public eye, so you have two options, you guard [your privacy] or you let it be for sale.”
Jodie took a break from acting in 1980 to study English at Yale and she adored the experience because it made her feel normal.
She told Red magazine: “I was surrounded by people my own age for the first time in my life.
“It was my little utopia because I got to believe I was like everybody else.”
The ‘Little Man Tate’ filmmaker believes her own life has had a huge impact on her work.
She quipped: “When I direct movies, I feel like every character is me. It all gets processed through me – my favourite subject.
“I’m well-adjusted enough about the tragedies in my life that I just can’t take them that seriously.
“I can’t just wallow and be like, ‘My mother was mean to me’. I have to cut it with a little cynical humour.”

Debbie McGee has ‘sparkle’ back

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee has got her “sparkle” back.
The 59-year-old star admitted she has struggled to get out of bed in the mornings since her husband Paul Daniels died from a brain tumour in March 2016, but that’s all changed since she started competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this year.
She said: “[‘Strictly’] has brought my sparkle back.
“I’ve always been a person who gets up happy in the morning and if I ever get up feeling down, I’ve always been able to bounce myself out of it.
“But since Paul died, I’ve really had to fight in the mornings.
“It’s getting up and having another day without him.
“When you go through grief, you have days that really are black days because you just miss them so much. But with ‘Strictly’, I’ve got up happy every morning and looked forward to going to rehearsals.”
And Debbie thinks her late husband has been “smiling down” on her throughout the competition – though if he was still here, he wouldn’t be afraid to give her some constructive criticism.
She told OK! magazine: “He would just love it. He always wanted me to do ‘Strictly’. He’s definitely smiling down on me.
“Some weeks when I’ve been really nervous, before I go on I think, ‘Come on, give me some of your confidence, Paul. He would be so proud of me…
“[He would have been in the audience and] giving me notes at the end. Because he really knew about performing, he would encourage me and say, ‘If you do this, then you’ll make that look better.’
“I’ve had a radio show for 10 years and Paul would always listen in then when I’d get home he would say, ‘Great show today darling, but…’ And he would always do that to himself – Paul was never happy with his performance. He always wanted to improve.”

Jamie Lomas wants EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Lomas wants to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant played alcoholic Jake Stone on the BBC soap for 18 months before leaving in 2015 and he would love to return after he leaves the jungle.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday he said: “I’d love to go back to ‘EastEnders’. I had an amazing time with the people there. I still have some fantastic friends there.
“I had such a fantastic character to play. When you’re playing someone with a drinking problem, you have to do it justice for the people who are suffering.
“I studied alcoholism at length. And I’m forever grateful to EastEnders for giving me that opportunity.”
Meanwhile, Jamie has made it through to tonight’s (10.12.17) final on ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
He will battle against Georgia Toffolo and Iain Lee for the crown after Jennie McAlpine was booted out of the competition during Saturday night’s (09.12.17) show.
Speaking after her exit, Jennie admitted it was much harder than she thought it would ever be.
She told hosts Ant and Dec: “It was so much harder than I thought and everything that I’d prepared for, that isn’t what you need to prepare for. Yeah, the trials and I kept looking at things online saying, ‘Will I be able to do that?’ Not would I be able to sleep in a sleeping bag.”
And Jennie said she missed her family – her partner Chris and their son Albert, three – the most of all.
She added: “I have been away from Albert four nights I think, that’s it. Just one time in his whole life. So to do three weeks, it was just … I can’t wait to see him. I can’t wait to see him. We had such a treat seeing [our loved ones].”
Jennie also couldn’t decide who she wanted to triumph.
Asked who she wants to win the show now, she couldn’t decide between Jamie and Toff.
She said: “Toff, Jamie, Toff, Jamie, Toff, Jamie. I can’t!”

Alexandra Burke’s brother blasts online trolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke’s brother has hit out at cruel online trolls who are bullying the star.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant – whose beloved mother Melissa Bell passed away in August – has been branded “fake” for breaking down in tears during the show and despite receiving praise from the judges, she has failed to win over the voting public.
Her half-brother Travoir told the Sunday People: “People have forgotten that she’s just lost her mum. People have forgotten that she’s human as well. It’s bullies. They’re attacking someone who’s trying to please them.
“She is upset, but she is still working so hard and they are tuning in to watch her. It’s sad.
“Anything you do, people are going to criticise you. But she’s been through a lot in the past few months and they’re kicking her when she’s down. It’s like she can’t win.
“She is a diva, you have to be a diva. You have to be to win. You can’t please everyone. No matter what you do, you’re still going to get criticised.
“She’s competitive. People just don’t like people who are driven.
“She is being herself with the emotions – you can’t help yourself crying sometimes. If she wasn’t crying they’d still find something to say. They’d go, ‘why’s she not crying? She’s acting tough’. People have got her wrong.”
Alexandra recently admitted that the online abuse has been getting her down.
She said: “The saddest thing is that I started the show completely myself – my joy and my tears were 100 per cent genuine, however much people said they were fake.
“But I’m now so self-conscious, I try not to react at all in case people say, ‘Oh, look, here are the fake tears again’.”

Zoe Ball’s new love

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Ball reportedly has a new boyfriend.
The ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ presenter was left devastated when her partner Billy Yates died by suicide seven months ago but she is believed to have found happiness again with businessman Michael Reed.
Zoe, 47, was spotted on a date with 47-year-old father of two and construction firm boss Michael earlier this week and friends say Michael is helping her to move on.
A source told the Sun on Sunday: “She deserves some happiness.
“It is great to see Zoe with a spring in her step – smiling and enjoying life again.”She has had a tough time of it this year so deserves some happiness.
“It is early days with Michael but Zoe seems quite taken with him. She left her girlfriends to go and meet him so that shows how keen she is.
“Michael is a charismatic guy and very handsome, so it is not hard to see the attraction.
“He is also not in showbiz, so hopefully that might make any relationship easier.”
Zoe and Michel were spotted enjoying drinks in London together on their date night before making their way to a hotel.
An insider said: “They seemed really close and were having an animated chat as they walked down the street to The Union Club.
“They looked cosy together as if no-one else mattered and like a couple in the early stages of romance.
“They didn’t seem to meet anyone else there so perhaps wanted to be alone for a late-night drink.”
Last year Zoe split from her husband of 18 years, Norman Cook, the father of her children Woody, 17, and Nelly May, seven.

Gemma Collins slams ‘boring’ TOWIE cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has blasted the ‘Only Way is Essex’ cast for being boring.
The 36-year-old star insists the reality show needs a huge cull because the “new people” who have come in don’t have what it takes to “entertain the nation” and thinks the programme wouldn’t survive without her and the other original stars.
She said: “The main cast have given their lives to the show. New people come in and think they are a star. They’re wrong.
“I won’t mention names but some don’t have what it takes to entertain the nation, so they have to go.
“When I said I’ve earned my divaship, it’s not like I walk around and expect perfume sprayed in my path but the main cast were on ‘TOWIE’ when some of these people were still in their school uniform.
“If me, Chloe Sims, Arg, Georgia [Kousoulou], Tommy [Mallet], Lockie, Yaz [Oukhellou] and Pete [Wicks] were off the show, the others couldn’t sustain it.
“We’re like the roast beef in the sandwich and they’re the pickle. Obviously they’re not going to get rid of me.”
Meanwhile, Gemma is desperate to appear on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and thinks the show is “missing out” after judge Craig Revel Horwood recently insisted she isn’t a big enough star to take part.
She told OK! magazine: “I’m certainly not low-rent, darling. We all have to start somewhere.
“I’ll burst onto that dancefloor and show them what a samba is.
“He won’t know what’s hit him.
“I’ve been to Sylvia Young Theatre School and I won south east England champion for dancing.
“Of course he’d love me. It’s a shame if they take that dim view of me because they’re ultimately missing out. My hips don’t lie.”

Alexandra Burke scores perfect 40

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke scored a perfect 40 with her salsa during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’s semi-final.
The ‘Broken Heels’ and her professional partner Gorka Marquez wowed with an electric performance to ‘Finally’ by Cece Peniston, which the judges branded “fabulous”.
Craig Revel Horwood told her it was “absolutely fab-u-lous” whilst Darcey Bussell admitted she “was jealous and wanted to be at your private disco”.
She praised the pair for the “great details” and promised she would “get into Bruno’s speedos” if she didn’t make it to the final.
Bruno Tonioli told them: “It might be December but it felt like mid summer in Puerto Rico. I love you!”
Alexandra also impressed with her Viennese waltz, which Bruno described as “elegant and classy”.
He added: “But more than that, it had a dream like quality. It felt like the softest, silkiest pashmina. Brilliant.”
Joe McFadden and Katya Jones also impressed with their American Smooth and Argentine Tango.
Of their American Smooth, Darcey said: “You did bring plenty of glamour, lovely sweeping lines. Just what I wanted. Thank you.”
Whilst commenting on their Argentine Tango, head judge Shirley Ballas praised the pair for their “spectacular” dance.
It was a good night for Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice, whose jive “shocked” Darcey.
She said: “Debbie, I have to say that was fast and sweet. Your agility … I’m shocked. It’s extraordinary.”
Unfortunately for Mollie King and AJ Pritchard, their Samba didn’t get them off to a good start.
Craig told them: “All the rolls looked really awkward. You weren’t actually dancing to the rhythm. That wasn’t great darling.”
However, the pair redeemed themselves with a beautifully emotional waltz to ‘Angel’ by Sarah McLachlan.
Gemma Atkinson and Aljaz Skorjanec were praised for their “determination and passion” for their tango whilst Bruno said their rhumba was “sensual”.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Sunday night (10.12.17).

Jon Hamm wants Batman gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Hamm is reportedly “desperate” to takeover from Ben Affleck as Batman in the DC Extended Universe.
The pair previously starred alongside each other in 2010’s ‘The Town’ and are believed to have remained friends ever since, but a source says that won’t stop the ‘Baby Driver’ actor audition for the part should Affleck step down from the role as The Caped Crusader.
An insider told Radar Online: “This is business for Jon – not personal.
“(Ben and Jon) enjoyed working together and have been on good terms since.
“But Jon knows Ben faced some criticism over ‘Batman v Superman’ and ‘Justice League’, and frankly thinks he’d be better suited for the job … Of course, Ben’s not officially out of the role yet, but the writing’s on the wall, and Jon’s desperate for the gig – friend or not.”
Yesterday (08.12.17), Affleck admitted he doesn’t know if he will continue playing the superhero.
The 45-year-old actor has starred as Batman in two films so far, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and the upcoming ‘Justice League’ and also cameoed in both ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Wonder Woman’, but is non-the-wiser what the future holds for his character.
He said: “I don’t know about that. We’ll see what the future holds.”
Affleck will be seen once again as Batman alongside Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), Ray Fisher (Cyborg) and Henry Cavill (Superman) in ensemble superhero movie ‘Justice League’ which hits cinemas this month.
Affleck is also due to be Bruce Wayne and his heroic alter ego in ‘Justice League 2’ and the standalone Batman movie planned by Warner Bros. Pictures, which is being directed by Matt Reeves from a script co-written by Affleck.
Recently, Miller admitted he would love to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan be Batman in ‘Flashpoint’.
The 25-year-old actor is set to get his own standalone film as the speedy superhero, which if it follows the comic storyline of the same name, will explore an alternate universe for the famous characters.
‘Flashpoint’ involves Barry Allen aka The Flash travelling back in time and saving his mother’s life, creating a radical new reality where the Justice League never formed.
With the new reality, heroes and villains have swapped places, while characters like Aquaman and Wonder Woman have become competing warlords and Batman’s father Thomas Wayne takes on a very different version of The Dark Knight.

Nicole Kidman puts kids first

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman gave up her dream Broadway role because her kids didn’t want her to take it.
The 50-year-old actress was offered the chance to reprise her award-winning West End part from ‘Photograph 51’ to the New York stage but, after taking Sunday, nine, and six-year-old Faith – who she has with husband Keith Urban – on location to Tasmania to shoot ‘Lion’ and California for ‘Big Little Lies’, the girls were desperate to return to their Nashville home.
She said: “It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, doing that play in London. And I would have loved to take it to Broadway. But the girls wanted to go home and I make choices for my family – I have to.”
And the Oscar-winning star admitted one of the reasons she took on the part of Queen Atlanna in the upcoming ‘Aquaman’ movie – which was shot in Queensland – was because she doesn’t really like to take on lead roles any more because they take up too much time.
She said: “I needed some irreverent fun after the ‘Killing of a Sacred Deer’ and ‘The Beguiled’ but a lot of the choices I make are based on not being the lead, so I’m not on location for long.
“The kids don’t like the separation so we just keep it together. And Keith is a touring musician – they’re used to being on the road.
“He’s willing to travel and make it work.”
The family are based in Nashville, meaning the ‘Killing of the Sacred Deer’ star has to travel more for work, but she insists it’s worth it because they can lead such a relaxed lifestyle when she isn’t working.
She told Red magazine: “It’s an easier lifestyle – smaller town, slower pace, which I prefer. It takes work because you have to travel more for your career but it’s worth it.”

Victoria creator Daisy Goodwin says show has plenty more in it yet

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Victoria’ creator Daisy Goodwin says the show has the potential to “go on and on”.
The popular ITV period drama is in its second series and as the two-hour long Christmas special approaches, the writer has been teasing the possibility of a third season.
However, she has hinted that there is the chance a new cast would need to be brought in.
While she has praised Jenna Coleman for her outstanding portrayal of the late Monarch alongside her real-life partner Tom Hughes [Prince Albert], Daisy would love to see Helena Bonham Carter take on the role.
She said: “I hope the series can run through Victoria’s reign, I have thought about how it could continue … I mean, yes, it could run and run…
“[A cast reshuffle] could be possible, [but] I have to say it would be very hard to top Jenna Coleman. I think it kind of depends really on the appetite of the public.
“Helena Bonham Carter would be good.. [But] for now I can only think of Jenna.”
Daisy says that a third series would include the revolution in 1848, which would give the show the chance to bring in new characters.
On how a third instalment would pan out, she told Digital Spy: “If there were to be a series three, it would include the revolution which was sweeping across Europe, in 1848, and Victoria and Albert think they’re going to lose their throne.
“Albert and Victoria will face a very difficult path emotionally, and personally.
“And there will be lots of surprises, and new characters that you might not know about, and that people won’t be expecting. And an interesting new political dynamic.
“I think it will be will all change.”
Meanwhile, the Christmas Day (25.12.17) episode, which will go head-to-head with ITV’s ‘Coronation Street’ in a festive ratings war, is set to establish Queen Victoria as a new mother, as she is “learning to balance her responsibilities as both parent and queen”.
Daisy said previously: “Victoria is the only Queen Regnant to marry and give birth while on the throne and the challenges of being head of state as well as a wife and mother are legion. In many ways, Victoria’s dilemma is a modern one – how do you have a successful marriage and a happy family when you are holding down an important job. Can you really have it all?”

Simon Cowell a fan of binging on cartoons

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell loves watching cartoons.
The 58-year-old music mogul’s latest boyband PrettyMuch – who he has tipped to be the next One Direction – have revealed they were invited over to the ‘X Factor’ boss’ London mansion to chill out and watch his favourite TV shows.
Austin Porter – who is joined by Brandon Arreaga, Edwin Honoret, Zion Kuwonu and Nick Mara in US group – told the Daily Star newspaper: “He’s so cool, he asks us over to his house. It was funny I was talking to him before X Factor and said we should hang out and he replied, ‘You know what guys, I would love that – spend the day just hanging out and watching cartoons together.’
“He’s a big fan of cartoons – he watches them all the time and so do we.”
Zion added: “He’s dope. We call him godfather or our favourite uncle.”
The lads are hoping to win the hearts of the nation with their new Ed Sheeran-penend hit.
Austin said: “It has a camp-fire vibe.”
And while they’ve been compared to ‘History’ hitmakers 1D – Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – Brandon says they are much different and are a closer-knit bunch.
He said: “We are very different, we have a better bond. One Direction didn’t get time to live with each other and create chemistry first. We have the luxury of being in a house together before making music.”

Gemma Atkinson banned from gym

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson has been “banned” from the gym by Aljaz Skorjanec.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress usually spends a lot of time working out but since she began dance training for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, her professional partner has told her to stop because she is too “strong”.
Aljaz said: “She was [into fitness] but I have banned her from going to the gym.
“She is so strong. She had enough strength and all the ballroom dances need to look soft and pretty.”
The 27-year-old dancer admitted the show is very much out of his partner’s comfort zone, but he’s proud she’s embraced all aspects of the show.
He said: “She has always been a lady from day one! At first she was really sceptical about wearing a long dress but the first time she put one on you could see the happiness in her face. She told me she never used to even own a dress. We call her queen of the north. She’s a lovely northern lass who can do ballroom.”
And Aljaz thinks Gemma has made a huge amount of progress since they started training.
He said: “She was incredibly nervous. I love that Gemma has been improving every single week. She’s had injuries and things not going our way but she’s kept quiet and carried on. She is a real trooper and has gone through all of this with a smile on her face. Gemma loves ballroom dancing now. It took me nine weeks to make it happen.”
Though the pair are training for “six or seven hours” a day, they always enjoy their tough sessions.
Aljaz told OK! magazine: “She gets up really early for her breakfast radio show but works really hard.
“She has no dance training so what she ends up producing on a Saturday is incredible. We are like two best mates – there hasn’t been a dull moment.”
