Bobby Davro tried to contact Keith Chegwin before death

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Davro tried to contact Keith Chegwin in the months leading up to his death.
The 58-year-old comedian was devastated when he heard that the legendary presenter had sadly passed away yesterday (11.12.17) at the age of just 60 after losing his battle with a long-term progressive lung condition because he’d tried really hard to reach out to him numerous times this year but his attempts went unanswered every time.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Tuesday (12.11.17) Bobby said via video link: “Unfortunately I tried to get hold of him lots of times through the last few months of his life. I didn’t get any luck. He changed his number, or I had an old number, and I was gutted when I heard about it yesterday, really gutted. I loved that guy.”
The former ‘EastEnders’ star was particularly stunned by the news because he’d only seen him a year ago at a charity event in Southampton and he “looked so well.”
He explained: “I was with him about a year ago – we did something down in Southampton with Jim Davidson – a big charity thing And he looked so well. He didn’t look like he had a care in the world.”
Keith’s passing was confirmed by his family – including his two children Rose, whom he has with his ex-wife Maggie Philbin, and Ted, whom he has with his wife Maria – in a statement released earlier on Monday.
It read: “We are heartbroken to share the news that Keith Chegwin sadly passed away following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which rapidly worsened towards the end of this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Severn Hospice for the kindness, support and care they have shown us all over the last few weeks.
“Keith was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. We would respectfully ask to be left to mourn his passing in private.”
Keith – nicknamed Cheggers – became a household name in the 70s when he presented ‘Multi-Coloured Swap Shop’ before hosting ‘Saturday Superstore’ in the 80s.
However, despite an impressive start, his career began to sink towards the latter end of the 80s and early 90s when he started to battle with alcoholism.
He then ditched the booze after his appearance on ‘This Morning’ in November 1992 and managed to claw back his career in 1992 when he hosted ‘The Big Breakfast’.
Throughout his time in showbiz, he’s also taken part in reality TV shows such as ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, Celebrity MasterChef’ and ‘Dancing on Ice’.

Ferne McCann’s one-off doc to get full series

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne’s McCann’s one-off motherhood documentary may be turned into a full series.
The 27-year-old reality TV star will appear on-screen tonight (12.11.17) in her new show ‘First Time Mum’, which has documented her tough pregnancy, labour and the first few weeks of having a newborn, and she has teased that there’s potential to do more.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (12.11.17), she said: “I can’t wait to see what the reaction is going to be like once everyone watches the show tonight because it is a one-off with potential to hopefully do some more so that’s exciting.
“I’m very comfortable in front of the cameras and no it wasn’t weird for me and I suppose I’m used to reality TV so I’m really excited because the programme really focuses on the highs and the lows and it’s a very honest side to me.”
And that’s not the only television gig the brunette beauty has as she’s still scheduled to do some “bits and bobs” for ‘This Morning’ over the next few weeks, but wants to spend the beginning of 2018 focusing on her five-week-old daughter Sunday.
She explained: “I feel like this is a whole new chapter being a mum and I just really want to welcome the new year in with Sunday and focus on her. But who knows, I’m still doing bits and bobs with ‘This Morning’.”
Ferne had somewhat of a difficult pregnancy as her now-ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins – who is the father of Sunday – was charged with throwing acid on revellers inside a nightclub in London just hours after she found out she was expecting a baby.
She’s since moved back in with her mother so that she can help with the newborn as Arthur has been told that he will spend a long time behind bars for the attack.
And, although Ferne is devastated by the incident, she just wants to move on and pour her attention into raising Sunday the best way possible.

Kieron Richardson’s twins will know surrogate

OHMYGOSSIP — Kieron Richardson’s twins will stay in touch with their surrogate.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor and his husband Carl Hyland welcomed twins Phoebe and Chase into the world in May and they have vowed to be “open and honest” with the tots about the fact they were carried by a woman outside of their family unit.
Asked if the twins will know her identity, Kieron said: “Yes. We took our surrogate’s lead because she has done it before. She sees those babies once a year close to their birthdays, so we’ll probably do the same. We’re going to be so open and honest with them from the beginning. They need to know how they got here.”
Though the couple know the twins’ biological paternity, it isn’t something they want to share with other people.
Kieron said: “That is the most asked question but we feel we are just a family unit, two dads and two babies, and as it’s not important to us, it shouldn’t be to anyone else.”
Though the couple love being parents, they admit being two dads has brought its challenges when out in public.
Kieron said: “This is nothing to do with same-sex parents but for dads in general, we’ve been to paces where the changing facilities were only in the ladies’ toilets and they get a bit freaked out about what to do in that situation.
“But if it’s any dad out with their baby, the baby is still going to need changing at some point.”
The ‘Raised by Queers’ stars are very keen to have more children in the future.
Carl said: “I don’t think you could ever put a stop button on it for me. The amount of love I Feel for these kids is just crazy, so to have that again is just a blessing.”
Kieron added to OK! magazine: “It’s so easy to be like, ‘I want a football team, but because of the process we went through, the reality is not easy. We’re lucky to have the two we’ve got now, but we’d definitely like to have at least one more baby.”

Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo lined up for Loose Women?

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo is reportedly being lined up for a seat on ‘Loose Women’ next year.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star, 23, won over the hearts of the nation to be crowned Queen of the Jungle on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ earlier this week and it looks like her television career is set to take off before she’s even touched back down in London as she’s been eyed up for a panellist gig on the lunchtime show when 2018 rolls around.
A source told The Sun Online: “Toff was such a huge hit with ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ viewers thanks to her positive outlook, intelligent conversations and infectious smile.
“She could make a great guest panellist – the Made In Chelsea star’s posh personality could potentially be a great addition and provide a different dynamic.”
But she’s not the only one set to be joining the chat show as her fellow camp mate Amir Khan – who was booted out of the competition two days before the final – is also in for an appearance as his sporadic one-liners and screams had viewers in fits of laughter.
The insider explained: “Amir was a surprise star in the jungle, winning over those watching at home. He has a lot to say for himself, and sometimes has no filter so he’s very funny and could bring a lot of energy as a Loose Man.
“It would be interesting to see if he could lift the lid on his much talked about marriage to Faryal and he’s set to be a dad for a second time – so he would have plenty of things to talk about. He’s a lovable rogue type character, particularly after strawberry gate, and it seems viewers can’t get enough of him at the moment.”

Chris Hughes: I’d be a good Love Island mentor

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood think they would be good mentors for future ‘Love Island’ contestants.
The couple – who met during the ITV2 show – believe they would be great role models to help other people looking for love in the villa and have offered their services.
Chris said: “I would be a fantastic mentor, if anyone was struggling emotionally I could help them through it. I would cry with them and help them through it.”
Whilst Olivia added to The Sun newspaper: “I think me and Chris would be really good at it, because we had the most traumatic experience.
“It was a really rocky road for us to get to where we are. When it comes back we should be the villa therapists. Also if the girls wanted to go on like a night out to get the boys sweating then I could take them. We could be the mentors for the new people.”
Chris and Olivia haven’t had the smoothest of journeys after they left the show. The duo were embroiled in a war of words with Katie Price and Chris was videoed kissing a mystery woman whilst out on the town.
He said in a statement: “I was a mess Saturday night, couldn’t remember an awful lot. I put my arm around a stranger which I should never have done, and I still don’t know, but it’s a lesson learnt not to be a drunk t***.
“All of us do things we shouldn’t one time or another and do stupid s**t, but nothing escalated as it would never. Sometimes takes an incident to sharpen up in life. Just being a drunk d**k.”

Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo almost quit I’m A Celebrity after 10 days

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo almost quit ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ after 10 days because she felt so weak.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star broke down in tears and told Medic Bob she couldn’t continue to appear on the programme because she could barely lift her arms up due to a lack of food, but he convinced her to remain on the show and she was crowned Queen of the Jungle in Sunday’s (10.12.17) final.
She said: “I said to Medic Bob, ‘I can’t carry on.’ I remember trying to do my hair in plaits and I couldn’t even lift my arms up. I thought I would have to leave.
“I didn’t get any extra food or drink. Medic Bob just said, ‘Come on Toff, it’s hit you first because you’re the smallest. Be strong.’
“He gave me the best pep talk, I had a tear rolling down my cheek. He talked me off the edge and I was all right.”
Toff also burst into tears in front of producers when they told her she couldn’t wear make-up, but she managed to talk them round by convincing them she needed some foundation for medical reasons because of her spotty skin.
She said: “I honestly wouldn’t have been able to look any of my campmates in the eye if I didn’t have my make-up on.
“When producers told me it was banned I broke down in tears and said, ‘I can’t do this’.
“I’ve been to the doctors so much over the years. It’s a medical problem and I’ve been on strong tablets for six months trying to get rid of them.
“So show bosses agreed that, because it was a medical problem, I was allowed to put foundation on once a day in the morning.”
The 23-year-old reality TV star took breast enhancers into the jungle to stuff her bra with but had to abandon that plan after she accidentally burst one by leaning on it.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “I felt really skinny. I had small boobies anyway and I looked down and I was completely flat. I took in chicken fillets in my bra, but I accidentally lay on one and burst it.
“So I had one booby with a chicken fillet and one without, so I had to sacrifice them.
“I’ve just had to embrace my small boobies. I doubt I would ever get a boob job when I can buy chicken fillets. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
Toff beat off competition from former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Jamie Lomas and talkRADIO host Iain Lee to win Sunday’s final.

Jamie Lomas to return to Hollyoaks?

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Passey thinks Jamie Lomas will return to ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 42-year-old actor recently quit his role as bad boy club boss Warren Fox – who he originally played from 2006 to 2011 before returning last year – but his 33-year-old co-star, who plays his on/off girlfriend Sienna Blake, doesn’t think his exit will be permanent.
She told Star magazine: “We miss him, but Warren is one of those characters who everyone loves – so I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him back at some point.”
Meanwhile, Jamie previously admitted he wouldn’t rule out a return to ‘Hollyoaks’ in the future because he thoroughly enjoys playing the bad boy on screen.
He said: “He’s such a fun character to play – playing baddies are the best characters to play on TV. I’ve been very fortunate that Bryan Kirkwood (the show’s executive producer) is a huge friend of mine – an amazing person as well. Creating Warren, ‘Hollyoaks’ have done such an amazing job and I’m eternally grateful for giving me that opportunity. I’m just going to try other things and I like to go in and then have a little time there and then go out. Who knows? Maybe I’ll go back in time and who knows? I think I’ve just given you that [he’s not going to be killed off].”

Daisy Ridley struggled to master her lightsaber

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley has admitted that learning to wield a lightsaber for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ was the “hardest thing” she has done as an actress.
The 25-year-old British star reprises her role as Force-sensitive Rey in the eighth film in the sci-fi saga and underwent a demanding training regime with fight coordinator Lian Yang which required her to really push herself.
Speaking to Vanity Fair at the world premiere of the eighth instalment of the franchise in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.12.17), Ridley said: “It was the hardest thing I have done physically. I really had to push myself. I was training around filming, but I was very, very happy with how strong I looked and felt. What you see in the movie is really me. No special effects.”
The new movie – helmed by Rian Johnson – is focused on Rey and her relationship with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who she finds at the end of the last movie ‘The Force Awakens’.
Hamill is not the only original trilogy character coming back in ‘The Last Jedi’ as the late Carrie Fisher is making her final appearance as General Leia Organa, following the actress’ shock death last December at the age of 60.

Andy Serkis says Supreme Leader Snoke is more powerful than Darth Vader

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis says Supreme Leader Snoke believes he is “more powerful than Darth Vader”.
The 53-year-old actor starred as the leader of the First Order in 2015’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and has reprised his role in the anticipated eighth instalment ‘The Last Jedi’, helmed by Rian Johnson.
Serkis insists his evil alter ego is a very powerful individual in the ‘Star Wars’ universe and is “more dangerous and despicable” than the Sith Lord, who was Emperor Palpatine’s apprentice.
At the world premiere of the new movie in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.12.17), Serkis said: “I think Supreme Leader Snoke would say he’s more powerful than Darth Vader, but he’s an egotistical narcissist. So yes, I think he believes himself to be so, and thinks that this is his divine right to be the leader. He has limitless resources and has massive military capability, which isn’t working, and that’s deeply frustrating. There’s this sense of feminine force and energy that’s coming towards him that seeks to undue him, which is terrifying. He feels vulnerable and he will do anything to stop it, which makes him even more dangerous and despicable than Darth Vader.”
Serkis returns in the saga along with cast members John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux).
The film also sees the return of Mark Hamill as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher in her last appearance as General Leia Organa following her death last December at the age of 60.

Rian Johnson wanted Star Wars: The Last Jedi to be emotional

OHMYGOSSIP — Rian Johnson wanted ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ to be an “emotional” movie.
The 43-year-old filmmaker has helmed the eighth instalment of the popular sci-fi franchise which sees the return of Mark Hamill as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa as the Skywalker family saga continues.
Although the plot has been a tightly guarded secret, Johnson admits the middle installment of the new trilogy had to “challenge the characters”.
Speaking at the world premiere of the sci-fi movie in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.12.17), where he was accompanied by his partner Karina Longworth, Johnson said: “It’s the middle chapter, so we got to challenge the characters, and it’s going to darker and intense places. I wanted the story to be emotional. That was an element that I really wanted to get in the movie.
“And because each one of these characters has such a brilliant set-up in ‘The Force Awakens’, I wanted to take each one of them and push them.”
‘The Last Jedi’ also sees the return of cast members John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux).
The eighth instalment marks the last outing for Fisher as Leia, as she tragically passed away last December, and before the premiere screening began, Johnson paid tribute to the actress.
He said: “I want to dedicate tonight to Carrie. I know she’s up there right now flipping me the bird, saying, ‘Damn it Rian, how dare you bring the mood down and make this night a solemn tribute.’ So let’s all have a blast together for Carrie.”

Mark Hamill proud to be known as Luke Skywalker

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hamill is “proud” to be known as Luke Skywalker.
The 66-year-old actor – who has been married to Marilou Hamill since 1978 – portrayed the Jedi Master in the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy and reprised his role in the 2015 ‘The Force Awakens’ in a brief cameo but is set to have a bigger role in the eighth instalment of the popular sci-fi franchise ‘The Last Jedi’, and he loves the fact he is constantly besieged by fans who want to tell him their stories of how much their alter ego means to them.
He said: “Fans come up to me all the time. They relay all these stories, tell me about how they met their wife in line for ‘Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back’ and that they had a child by the time of ‘Return of the Jedi’ and named him Luke.
“It’s really moving. I’m proud to be known as Luke Skywalker.”
Although the latest appearance of the iconic character is not the same confident hero from the original movie, Hamill thinks fans “will be surprised” by what director Rian Johnson has created in ‘The Last Jedi’.
Speaking to Vanity Fair at the world premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.12.17), Hamill said: “Rian’s version of Luke Skywalker is an incarnation of the character I never expected.
“That was a huge surprise when I first read the script. I think fans will be surprised too. It’s a reward that just never stops giving..”
The seventh movie also saw the return of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) from the original trilogy.
However, Han was shockingly murdered by his own son Ben Solo/Kylo Ren (Adam Driver)
‘The Last Jedi’ also stars John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux), who are all reprising their roles.

Laura Dern thinks Star Wars: The Last Jedi is incredibly relatable

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Dern thinks ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ offers an “incredibly relatable” portrayal of women.
The 50-year-old actress is one of the newest stars to join the saga and portrays Vice Admiral Holdo in the eighth instalment of the popular sci-fi franchise, and admitted she wanted to join ‘Star Wars’ because it is “empowering”.
While attending the world premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ in Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.12.17), she said: “What I love about ‘Star Wars’ and one of the reasons why I wanted to be in the movie is that it’s one of the most human and empowering stories.
“It’s about holding on to hope even in amidst of suffering and oppression. And it’s incredibly relatable as a film of our time right now with the portrayal of women.
“To see a powerful female character in a movie that is also feminine moves away from a stereotype that’s often perceived – that strong female characters must be like the boys, which is far from the truth.”
Meanwhile, director Rian Johnson admitted he hopes audiences will be “pleasantly surprised” by the humour in the movie.
He said: “I hope audiences will pleasantly be surprised by how fun and funny the movie is.
“I really tried to balance the more intense stuff with humour and fun, because it’s a ‘Star Wars’ movie, after all.
“That’s what it’s all about.”
The new movie again sees the return of ‘Star Wars’ legends Mark Hamill as Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa.
‘The Last Jedi’ marks the last outing for Fisher, who tragically passed away last December after shooting her final scenes in the eighth instalment.
The film also stars John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and Domhnall Gleeson (General Lux) who are all reprising their roles.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau found Shot Caller very challenging

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikolaj Coster-Waldau found meeting former prisoners while shooting ‘Shot Caller’ “very exciting”.
The 47-year-old actor stars as Jacob Harlon in the new crime thriller by Ric Roman Waugh and he loved doing the research around the prison system and the gang culture.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, he said: “One of the things I love about my job is that you get to educate yourself and you get to be exposed to things you haven’t before.
“I learned so much about [the prison] system. Once you get institutionalised, how that affects you… to actually meet former prisoners was very challenging and very exciting.
“Everyone looks so tough and mean but when you talk to them they tell you they have to do that. Everyone is s**t-scared all the time.”
The new film also stars Lake Bell, Benjamin Bratt and Jon Bernthal, and follows Jacob, who has recently been released from prison and finds himself forced by his gang leaders to orchestrate a major crime with a rival gang.
While filming, the actor met a former shot caller who had been involved in researching the plot, and the ‘Game of Thrones’ star learned from him that people in prison don’t always commit a violent crime but their behaviour escalates because of the inmates that surround them.
He said: “The guy who did the research for the film had been a shot caller himself.
“He went into prison when he was 20 and hadn’t done any violent crime. He’d done a lot of carjacking and stuff.
“Suddenly you come into a world where you are with very violent people. He raised himself up the ranks and he ended up being a shot caller.
“That was what was interesting about my character in the film. He made a really horrible, stupid mistake – he had a glass of wine too many and drove.
“It was such a stupid thing to do and it had horrible consequences but these things can happen to anyone.
“What’s interesting about the story is that it shows you don’t necessarily enter the world of prison as someone committing a horrible crime.”

John Boyega: Finn’s more serious in The Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega’s ‘Star Wars’ character Finn is “much more seriousness and understanding” in ‘The Last Jedi’.
The 25-year-old actor is reprising his role in the latest instalment of the science fiction franchise after making his debut in ‘The Force Awakens’ and has revealed how Finn has developed as a character.
He said: “He’s more serious in this one. He’s much more on the ball with the fight. His decision to fight for the Resistance is not an easy one to make, and we still see him in a transition, but we can tell he’s trying …
“He’s still the jokey, light guy, but he has moments of much more seriousness and understanding, because he’s now starting to get to know what it means to be a human being.”
And John feels ‘The Last Jedi’ is different from all its predecessors and praised the filmmakers for taking on “darker and deeper” challenges.
He added: “It’s different because the story’s different. We’re continuing the story. We can’t go back and do it again. We’re moving forward, and the challenges are darker and they’re deeper, and the Resistance, they’re not great right now. They’re on their last leg and General Leia is the only one protecting the line of defense. There’s a call and a cry for help throughout the whole galaxy.”
John is also thrilled with how the ‘Star Wars’ universe has been “expanded just in terms of culture”.
He told the New York Daily News: “It’s been great to see how the ‘Star Wars’ universe has been expanded just in terms of culture. The human aspect of it. ‘Star Wars’ is known for having a great variety and diversity in aliens, and now we get to kind of transfer that same code into the humans in the story, and it only makes sense.”

Noel Edmonds pays tribute to Keith Chegwin

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds has dubbed his late friend Keith Chegwin has “an extraordinary showman”.
The legendary presenter – who is best known for presenting the children’s game show ‘Cheggers Plays Pop’ – passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Monday (11.12.17) following a long-term battle with a progressive lung condition.
And now Noel – who starred alongside Keith in ‘Multi-Coloured Swap Shop’ and considers the legend as his “first real telly chum” – has paid tribute to the star.
In a statement, the 68-year-old presenter said: “I’ve lost my first real telly chum and I’m certain I’m not alone in shedding tears for a true telly legend.
“He was an extraordinary showman capable of entertaining a vast crowd of excited children during the long periods between his live contributions to the show.
“I never saw Keith flustered or lost for words. In fact now I think about it I never saw him upset or angry. I never heard Cheggers say a bad word about anyone.
“Like all true professionals he possessed the knack of reinventing himself time and time again.
“He was a very generous performer. Keith was indeed larger than life but he never stole the spotlight. He was an all-round entertainer – a very funny comedian and accomplished musician and singer.
“He was at his best on location, with a film crew chasing him and a member of the public about to be surprised on their doorstep.
“The greatest achievement for any TV performer is for the viewers to regard you as a friend and today millions will be grateful for Keith’s contribution to their childhood memories and like me they will mourn the passing of a friend.”
Keith’s passing was confirmed by his family – including two children Rose, whom he has with his ex-wife Maggie Philbin, and Ted, whom he has with his wife Maria – in a statement released earlier on Monday.
