Anna Kendrick’s fake smile

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick and her ‘Pitch Perfect’ co-stars had to put fake smiles on when they filmed the final scenes for ‘Pitch Perfect 3’.
The 32-year-old actress – who plays Beca in the movie franchise – says the whole cast were distraught when they were filming the movie’s final scenes and were even told by the director Trish Sie to be “a little less emotional”.
Anna said: “This was the last day of filming, which never happens – you never film in order like that, so we were just in our feelings. Our director at one point was like, ‘OK, it’s great, but you guys do look like you all just found out you have cancer! Now, maybe a little lighter, let’s send out the audience on a high, maybe, something like that. A little less emotional!'”
And whilst the future of the hit movies hang in the balance, Anna would be up for at least four more movies and said it would go on and on “if it was up to her”.
She added to US breakfast show Today: “If it were up to us, we’d be like, four, five, six, seven [films], but it’s probably good that it’s not up to us because we don’t have ideas!
“But we wanted to make it a satisfying ending [for Pitch Perfect 3], if it is the ending, so we’re treating it like the ending and hopefully we will get to work together again some day.”
Meanwhile, Rebel Wilson – who also stars in the movie – previously revealed she is confident she will work with ‘Pitch Perfect’ scribe Kay Cannon again.
She said: “I’m sure I’ll work with Kay again. She’s so brilliant. And now she’s directing her own movies. I’m sure our paths will cross again. She actually sent me the original ‘Pitch Perfect’ script on Facebook after seeing some of my outtakes from ‘Bridesmaids’. That’s how I was the first person cast.”

Willem Dafoe to receive Palm Springs International Film Festival Icon Award

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Dafoe will be presented with the Icon Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
The 62-year-old actor will be handed the accolade at the annual gala on January 2, 2018, after appearing in more than 100 movies throughout his career, including ‘Platoon’ and ‘The English Patient’.
According to Deadline, Palm Springs International Film Festival Chairman Harold Matzner said Dafoe “delivers a career defining performance” in ‘Florida Project’.
In the motion picture, he portrays beleaguered Orlando motel manager Bobby Hicks who has to deal with a group of youngsters constantly getting into trouble in his building.
Dafoe will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Michael Douglas, Robert Duvall, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep when he picks up the accolade.
It might not be the only gong the Hollywood star wins next year because he has been nominated for an array of Best Supporting Actor accolades for his ‘Florida Project’ portrayal.
Dafoe is up for a Golden Globe, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild Award for the film.
This comes after he won Best Supporting Actor prizes for the part this year at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, New York Film Critics Circle Awards and Boston Society of Film Critics Awards among others.
Dafoe recently admitted he likes to try to appear in movies which “engage” him and he loves to try out different types of roles he’s never played before.
He said: “Something that really taps into a sense of curiosity or wonder.
“I’d say the basic condition is to say you’re going to do something you’ve never done before and no matter how it turns out, it’s going to be interesting and if you’re open to it, something’s going to happen.
“You aren’t always guaranteed what that’s going to be but it’s going to be something – you’re not just going to make another movie, you’re going to make a movie you have a stake in.”

Karen Gillan is ‘the biggest fan’ of ‘Jumanji’

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan is “the biggest fan” of the original ‘Jumanji’ movie.
The 30-year-old actress has admitted she jumped at the chance to star in the forthcoming film ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart because the 1995 classic was one of her “top three films of all time” when she was younger.
Speaking to WWD, she said: “I almost dropped everything in hands because I am the biggest fan of the original ever. It’s in my top three films of all time.”
Although Karen – who portrays Ruby Roundhouse in the production – was eager to feature in the film, she was also “terrified and then protective” over it because she didn’t want to upset fellow fans of the original version, which starred the late Robin Williams.
She continued: “And I was instantly terrified and then protective over it. It is its own movie in its own right and it pays enough homage to the original, but it’s going to keep fans of the original happy, I think – it certainly did for me.”
Karen’s character has sparked uproar with some viewers because of her skimpy ensemble, but the star has revealed the costume was a conscious move by the creative team who wanted to “make fun” of the sexist trope.
When asked about the reaction to her attire in the movie, she said: “I think gender equality is very much at the forefront of our conversation right now and that makes me really happy, so it’s good that people are talking about it. Then along comes this photo where all the men are covered and then the girl is like scantily clad, of course it’s going to. When you look at it out of context, it’s sort of ridiculous. So I’m not surprised by people’s’ reaction at all actually.
“We’re actually aware of that trope and we’re sort of making fun of it. And my character is so unhappy about it. But yeah, it’s not necessarily a negative thing that people are talking about it — it gets to reinforce it.”

Helen Flanagan thought she was having ectopic pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan was told she could be suffering from an ectopic pregnancy.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star is currently pregnant with her second child but feared for her own and her unborn baby’s life in the first trimester when doctors told her she could be experiencing the potentially-deadly complication – in which the embryo attaches outside the uterus – after she was plagued with “very bad pains” and severe vomiting.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “At one point the Celtic club medic came to see me and I was getting very bad pains. There was some concern I might be having an ectopic pregnancy, but I’d actually got a water infection. I was very dehydrated – I couldn’t keep anything down because I was being sick all the time.
“I did end up in hospital here in Glasgow. I was there for a good few hours and they put me on a drip. I had some scans, fluids and anti-sickness injections.
“I was so poorly at this point and was prescribed some tablets. I got through my first pregnancy without having to take anything, but the nurses assured me the tablets were safe and the lightest form of medication, and they did work.”
And, although she feels blessed to be carrying a healthy baby, the 27-year-old actress doesn’t think she could go through another pregnancy because the hyperemesis – a severe form of morning sickness – was unbearable and she couldn’t cope with it again.
Helen – who also has three-year-old daughter Matilda – said: “Those five weeks of sickness were horrible. I’m just so glad they’re over. I don’t think I’d ever be able do it again. I couldn’t have two young children and have hyperemesis again.”
Helen’s fiance Scott Sinclair has admitted the baby news came as somewhat of a surprise because the pair – who have been together since 2009 – weren’t trying.

Susannah Constantine had head lice for 3 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Susannah Constantine has had head lice for three years.
The 55-year-old fashion journalist has battled with the creepy-crawly infestation on and off for years, which has left her feeling “humiliated”, and now has to have her barnet professionally hoovered because the wingless insects are becoming immune to standard over-the-counter treatments.
Writing for the Daily Mail newspaper, she said: “My hair is to be pig-tailed, scorched and, in a coup de théâtre, professionally ‘hoovered’ in an attempt to rid me once and for all of the lice that, around the country, are becoming ever-more resistant to standard treatments.”
Although the procedure is somewhat “alarming” at first because the little critters are sucked up through the filter, Susannah feels like “an infested dog having her head scratched” after a while.
She explained: “First, Louise, my technician starts separating my hair into multiple pigtails. Then, sporting surgical gloves and special magnifying spectacles, she begins the hoovering part of the procedure. The sensation is at first alarming, but the combination of suction and the scraping of a specially fitted metal comb soon takes hold and I became like an infested dog having her head scratched. Bliss. After each section has been sucked clean she inspects the contents of a small filter. ‘Mmm,’ she murmurs. ‘Three lice, ten juveniles and lots of eggs.’ Morbidly fascinated I ask to look – and so come face to face with the opponent.
“Looking through the magnifying glasses, I see there are indeed three lice, each the size of a low-flying aircraft, a disgusting spectacle. And there are more to come.”
The procedure costs “nearly £200” and 90 minutes, but she’s now nit free.

Debbie McGee’s Strictly Come Dancing rebirth

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee feels like she has been reborn after ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 59-year-old star was thrilled she made it all the way to the final on the BBC latin and ballroom show and says it has had a huge impact on her life.
She said: “People always thought I couldn’t do anything and I was just blonde. I do have my blonde moments … but it was really nice for me to show everybody that there’s a bit more to me than that … It does feel like that [being reborn] … When I met Paul, I had had a really good career in the business but I just had seen lots of showbiz marriages split up and go awry. I always put him first. I have no regrets over that. I had over 30 amazing years with Paul and in those days, I thought, if I go and push my career, we won’t see each other. If it [work] took me away from him too long, I thought, ‘Oh I won’t do that again,’ because I want to be with him. Life’s too short. I don’t want to sit in a hotel room on my own and him be in another hotel room somewhere else. I wanted to be with him.”
And Debbie thinks her late husband Paul Daniels would have loved her stint on the show and would be “looking down” on her with pride.
She added: “He would have absolutely loved it because if I did well, he would always be happy for me. He would be looking down on me … When Paul did it, I got more nervous for him then I did getting nervous for me doing the show because it really wasn’t his thing.”
Debbie also had a close bond with her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice but has insisted there was nothing romantic going on.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, she shared: “From day one, I felt comfortable with him. There wasn’t anything that made me feel shy. One of those lifts, he had to put his hands between my legs, that’s as close as you can get to a man! … I can’t explain why, we were just really comfortable in each other’s company. I never felt like anything was wrong so we just had a lovely time.”

Will Young’s PTSD leaves him housebound

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young’s battle with post-traumatic stress disorder sometimes leaves him housebound.
The former ‘Pop Idol’ winner – who shot into the limelight in 2002 when he won the singing series – was diagnosed with the anxiety disorder, also known as PTSD, in 2012 and hit the headlines last year when he walked out of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ just three weeks in because he couldn’t deal with the pressure that came with the ballroom and latin competition.
And, although he’s learnt to recognise when he’s slipping down the slope, the 38-year-old singer has admitted sometimes his anxiety is so bad that he confines himself to the house.
Speaking to the Evening Standard newspaper, he said: “With PTSD, sometimes it could be difficult for me to go to the coffee shop, or visit the bank — but I now know when to expect it. It’s just something I’ve learned to live with the best I can, and listen to my body.
“If my nervous system is too much then I might not want to go round to a friend’s for dinner. If I push myself to do things it gets worse. It’s like having a broken leg if you are an athlete — you need time to recover and can’t push yourself. I’ve got really good at looking after my nervous system — it’s been the making of me. Self-care is what everyone should aspire to.”
And Will has admitted a lot of people assume that he’s depressed but he’s adamant “that’s not the case” and he’s actually very “content” with his life – even though it’s up and down.
He explained to the publication: “I’m a very content person. People think that PTSD must be depressing. That’s not the case.”

Ted Reilly quits EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Ted Reilly has quit ‘EastEnders’.
The 26-year-old actor – who joined the long-running soap just over a year ago – has decided to bow out of the show as the loveable Johnny Carter next year, but it’s not yet known how he’ll leave and whether the door will be left open for him to return one day.
A representative for the show told The Sun Online: “We can confirm Ted has finished filming with ‘EastEnders’ and wish him all the best for the future.”
It comes just weeks after Harry Reid – who plays gay mechanic Ben Mitchell – announced he was leaving the show over the festive season along with Jacqueline Jossa and Lorna Fitzgerald (Lauren and Abi Branning) in a dramatic storyline.
A source said recently of Harry’s shock exit: “Fans of Ben and the Mitchell family will be shocked to see his departure from the soap. He will star in a big storyline before the end of the year and be written out of the show as a result.”
Meanwhile, since taking on the role, Ted has been involved in some gripping plots – including being shot by Ted Murray (Christopher Timothy) after he was mistaken for an intruder, before the ambulance rushing him to hospital crashed into a tanker lorry.
This the latest blow to the Carter clan – who have been the focus of many storylines on the soap this year – as they’ve had to deal with Linda (Kellie Bright) being diagnosed with cancer, which led to her and her husband Mick (Danny Dyer) breaking up over the lies and secrets, and losing the beloved Queen Vic pub in a blackmail plot.

Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden to try for another baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden will try for another baby next year.
The ‘Emmerdale’ stars – who play Debbie Dingle and David Metcalfe in the long-running soap – already have Buster, seven, and Bowie, two, together but would love to add another little one to their brood – preferably a girl – at some point in 2018.
Matthew, 37, told OK! magazine: “We’ll start thinking about having another baby next year. We’d love a girl but I think we’re destined to have a house full of boys.”
The couple – who got together in 2009 and engaged later that year – spend a lot of time together as they live together and work together and, although bosses would like to see their alter egos get together, they’ve refused to have too many scenes together.
Matthew said: “They wouldn’t be! They once told us they were considering it and we were the first to ring up and ask for it not to happen!”
Charley added: “It’s too much – living with each other, working with each other and then being romantically linked in the show. Also, they are characters who wouldn’t suit.”
And they enjoy working on the show so much that they’re keen to stay on there for ever.
The hunk said: “I can see me being at Emmerdale for the rest of my career.”
Charley, 29, added: “You do sometimes think about wanting to play a different character but I’m fine as I am at the moment.
“I get to go home to Buster and Bowie each night and you can’t put a price on that. There’s no job more important than being with your family.”

Blind Date plans royal special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Blind Date’ bosses are planning a royal wedding special.
Producers on the Channel 5 show – which is hosted by Paul O’Grady and Melanie Sykes – are planning to mark the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle next May by seeking to match-make contestants with similar names.
An online advertisement read: “Iconic dating show for Channel 5 is looking for single people called Megan or Harry to be matched for a date.
“It’s going to be the most royal blind date ever. So if you are called Megan or Harry then please get in touch.”
‘Blind Date’ will return in 2018 with 12 new episodes after its revival was a hit with viewers in the summer.
Meanwhile, Paul, 62, previously admitted he was reluctant to take the reins at ‘Blind Date’ because he felt like a “phoney” in comparison to its previous host, his beloved late friend Cilla Black, who died in August 2015.
Speaking previously, he said: ” At first I said no because it’s so synonymous with Cilla. I thought nobody else can do it. I’m not your suitable Cupid me, I’m quite cynical.
“It was very hard because I kept expecting Cilla at the top of the stairs saying ‘what are you doing?’ I’ll constantly refer to her if there’s a bit of a mess up.
“I felt like a phoney – ‘what am I doing here?’ How did this happen, I used to iron my jeans while watching this.”
But it wasn’t until the flame-haired musician’s son, Robert, encouraged Paul to present the new series that he changed his mind.
The funny man explained: “I spoke to Robert, her son, and he said do it.”

Sophie Kasaei was dumped over the phone

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Kasaei was dumped over the phone.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star was left heartbroken two months ago when her long term boyfriend Joel Corry called her shortly after she left the famous house in September and told her he no longer wanted to be with her after six years together.
Speaking to new! magazine, she said: “I got out of the ‘Geordie Shore’ house in September after filming and got a phone call from Joel. He was like, ‘I don’t know what it is Soph, but I just don’t think it’s going to work.’ I was instantly like, ‘What the hell, is there another girl?’ He said there wasn’t but went, ‘I just don’t think that you and me will have a future because it’s just not what I want and I know you do. You want to settle down, and it’s understandable, but it’s just not for me and it’s not what I want.'”
And, although he didn’t split up with her face-to-face, Sophie isn’t angry with him.
She explained: “Yeah [it was over the phone] but I’m not angry that it was over the phone because I’m in Newcastle and he was in London. But I moved to Essex for Joel, so I’m packing up and going back to Newcastle.”
The 28-year-old stat hasn’t spoken to Joel since he ended things over the phone but she believes the no-contact has actually helped him get over him a lot quicker.
She said: “That conversation happened a few months ago, and then he was like, ‘I’ve got to block you, because contact is going to be harder. I’m not blocking you because I hate you, I’m blocking you because I know it’s going to be easier.'”
And, although it’s the end of an era for them, Sophie isn’t “heartbroken” by the split.
She added: “I’m not heartbroken. We were always arguing about the house and stuff and, deep down, maybe he’s done us a favour. Yeah. I feel bad because why would I be over my boyfriend after six years. But I feel really strong about it. I haven’t really cried.”

Anthony Quinlan is dating Strictly Come Dancing pro

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony Quinlan is reportedly dating a professional from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Emmerdale’ hunk – who is known for playing Pete Barton in the long-running soap – is said to be “smitten” with Dianne Buswell after they were introduced to one another through his co-star Gemma Atkinson after she made it to the ballroom and latin show’s finals over the weekend – narrowly missing out on the glitterball trophy.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Anthony and Dianne looked very cosy on Saturday night in the studio. He has told pals he is really into her and made the trip down to London to see her. He brought Jamie [Lomas, his former co-star] with him but only had eyes for Dianne. During rehearsals, she darted off the dancefloor and ran straight up to him in the crowd to give him a cuddle. He introduced her to Jamie, too. They seem like a lovely couple. They were very close at the show’s official after-party. They weren’t bothered who saw.”
And that isn’t the only romance that flourished near the dance floor as Gemma is ruined to be dating dancing professional Gorka Marquez, but the pair have both played down relationship rumours the whole time they were doing the BBC show.
Gorka, 27, said previously: “She is a beautiful girl and she’s lovely.
“But we are just friends, like I’m friends with everyone on the show. It’s true that we’ve had some drinks together and stuff like that, but nothing else.”
Gemma, on the other hand, recently insisted she doesn’t wish to discuss her love life, because she’s grown tired of talking about who she’s dating over the years.
The 33-year-old actress – who previous dated soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo – explained: “I really don’t want to talk about my love life to be honest. I don’t feel I need to respond to anyone about what I’m doing. I’ve had to talk about who I’m dating for the past 15 years. You’ve got to take everything with a pinch of salt.”

The Apprentice’s Jade English had ‘genuine connection’ with James White

OHMYGOSSIP — The Apprentice’s Jade English had a “genuine connection” to James White.
The blonde businesswoman hit the headlines a few months ago when it was revealed that she and the show winner has been having a steamy affair inside the house – despite being in relationships with other people – and, although she refused to go into detail about their romance, she admitted they became “extremely close.”
Writing on her blog JadeEnglish.com, she said in a post titled ‘The Apprenticeships of a Lifetime’: “We were both competitive, into our fitness and I think we just had a genuine connection and felt that we could rely on each other in the house.
“We used to go outside and play bat and ball and stay up talking about how the world has no limits. It was inspiring to be around someone else who had as much ambition and vision in life as I do.
“The process means that you are away from your family and friends for a long period of time and you are not allowed to have any contact with the outside world.
“This means that the bonds you build up in the house are amplified as you are thrown together 24/7 and James and I became extremely close friends.
“After every task, we would return to the house and sit and chat about life, the Universe and everything. It’s amazing how raw and stripped back from everything you become when you’re away from everyday life.”
After she was given the boot from the competition, the 26-year-old broadcast journalist graduate returned to her boyfriend of six and a half years Joel and decided to end the relationship there and then because they were no longer right.
She explained: “I returned home to where my partner and I lived. I just knew I was different and so did my partner. I hadn’t changed, but my mentality certainly had.
“I finally fully believed in myself and knew I had the courage to be on my own and make my business a success and we were stopping each other from growing as individuals. I finally bit the bullet and made the hard decision to move out after all of our years together. For the rest of the summer, I toured most of England, visited candidates in different cities, holidayed to Croatia and Barcelona, attended London Fashion week and landed myself a job as an Account Manager at a great company called Clear Channel (who by the way have been phenomenally supportive throughout this crazy time).”

Amy Childs struggles being a single parent

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs struggles being a single parent.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star split from her partner Bradley Wright just a few weeks after their seven-month-old daughter Polly was born, and, though the 27-year-old is adamant the pair will never get back together, she has admitted there are times when she finds it “tough” coping on her own and would like to have someone to help her out.
Speaking to OK! Magazine about motherhood, she said: “There are times when it’s really tough.
“Polly usually sleeps through the night, but she’s teething at the moment so she’s been waking up every hour.
“It’s times like that when I’d love to have a partner who could help me out or look after her while I have a bath.
“Being a mum is non-stop and sometimes it’s really tough, but I have to remind myself that I’m doing a good job and that I just need to get on with things.”
And though Amy has the support of her family, she says it doesn’t compare to that of a lover.
She added: “I get a lot of help from my parents as they live just down the road, but it doesn’t replace what I’m missing in a partner. ”
Although Amy has her difficult moments she has “no regrets” and insists motherhood has been “the best thing” for her, as she has found she has become “less selfish” now she has a child.
The reality star said: “Motherhood is the best thing I’ve ever done, though – I have no regrets.
“I’ve also learnt that you become less selfish when you have a child, it’s not all about you anymore.”
Although Amy insists she will not rekindle her romance with Bradley, she has found she gets on “better” since the break up.
She said: “Absolutely not. We get on better now that we’re not together. We’re never going to be best friends but we work together to do the best thing by Polly.”

Charlotte Crosby to celebrate xmas in bed

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby will spend Christmas Day (25.12.17) in bed.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star has just split from her boyfriend Stephen Bear following less than a year of on/off dating and has admitted she’s not looking forward to the festive season this year and will probably spend the whole day under her duvet.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: “I’ll probably have my family round to my house up in Newcastle. You’ve got to have family around you at this time of year, haven’t you? But having said that, I’ve decided I don’t like Christmas. I’ll probably stay in bed all day – it’s actually just like any other boring day.”
And the 27-year-old reality TV beauty – who has shrunk to a tiny size 8 from a size 16 – isn’t planning on indulging in calorific treats over the festive season because she’s currently on the “heartbreak diet” and can’t bring herself to eat anything since her split.
She explained: “I’m in good shape at the moment as I’m on the heartbreak diet. No Ben & Jerry’s or Christmas cake for me – I can’t eat.”
But, although she’s still nursing a broken heart, Charlotte is looking forward to some boozy nights out with her girl pals over the next few weeks.
