Ant McPartlin prepared to give estranged wife half his fortune in divorce settlement

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin is reportedly prepared to pay his wife Lisa Armstrong £31 million in a divorce settlement, in order to avoid a messy court battle.
The 42-year-old television presenter – who is known for being one half of presenting duo Ant and Dec – revealed over the weekend that he would be divorcing from his wife of 11 years after a turbulent year in which Ant was admitted to rehab after becoming reliant on alcohol and drugs following a botched knee operation.
And now, it has been claimed that in order to keep the peace between the pair, Ant is willing to part with half his fortune in what would mark the biggest divorce settlement in the UK involving a celebrity.
A source said: “It’s a huge amount but he wants Lisa to be financially and emotionally supported. He wants things to be amicable and doesn’t want a drawn out court battle with Lisa.
“He still views her as a best friend and wants them both to be able to walk away from the marriage positively. He is happy to give Lisa 50 per cent in the divorce if that is what is agreed by their lawyers.”
Sources close to Lisa, however, have insisted she isn’t motivated by money, and that the 41-year-old beauty was “shocked” by Ant’s offer.
They told The Sun newspaper: “She is not motivated by money and doesn’t want a fight. But this was a real shock to her so she’s not going to rush things either.”
It comes after Ant’s representative revealed he would be splitting from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ make-up artist – whom he has known for 23 years – after having tied the knot in 2006.
His rep said: “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.
“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families.
“No further statement will be made.”

Candice Brown voted off Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Brown has been the first celebrity booted from ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ winner might been a baking champion, but she failed to make her mark on the ITV ice-skating competition as she found herself becoming the first celebrity to leave this series of the show.
Speaking to show hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby after her fate was sealed, she said: “Yeah, [I’m] just a bit [gutted]. But I did my best, I couldn’t have done any more.”
Candice also praised her professional partner Matt Evers for being the “best” partner she could’ve asked for, and he in turn heaped praise on her.
He said: “She has learned a skill, something that is so foreign to her above everybody else that’s in the competition right now, and I’m so proud of you for doing that.”
Candice and Matt found themselves in the dreaded skate-off after they failed to win the public’s vote last week.
After the remaining couples took to the ice on Sunday (14.01.18), it was revealed that Lemar would be the one to face the 33-year-old baker after he too received the fewest public votes.
Each pair then performed two new routines, and the judges – consisting of legendary skating duo Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, as well as Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner – cast their votes on who to keep in the competition.
Both Ashley and Jason chose to save Candice, whilst Torvill voted for Lemar, and with Dean casting the deciding vote as this week’s head judge, it was Lemar who skated into safety.
Torvill and Dean’s decision to save Lemar comes after he was given less time to prepare than the other contestants, as he was drafted in after former cricketer Monty Panesar broke his ankle during training.
‘Dancing On Ice’ returns next Sunday (21.01.18) at 6pm on ITV.

Daniel Radcliffe understands fan frustration with Johnny Depp

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe can understand why people are “frustrated” with Johnny Depp’s casting in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise.
The ‘Harry Potter’ actor admits it is “very hard” for him to comment on the decision to keep the 54-year-old star in his role as Gellert Grindelwald despite a backlash from fans over his controversial divorce from Amber Heard, in which she claimed he’d been abusive towards her throughout their marriage before later dropping the allegations, because producers gave him a “great start”.
And Daniel drew reference to Jamie Waylett, who played bully Vincent Crabbe but was dropped from the final two ‘Harry Potter’ films for being arrested for growing marijuana plants in 2009.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “It’s a very hard thing for me… I can see why people are frustrated with the response that they were given from that … I’m not saying anything that anybody hasn’t already said — and this is a weird analogy to draw — [but] in the NFL, there are lots of players arrested for smoking weed and there is other people’s behaviour that goes way beyond that and it’s tolerated because they’re very famous players.
“I suppose the thing I was struck by was, we did have a guy who was reprimanded for weed on the [original ‘Potter’] film, essentially, so obviously what Johnny has been accused of is much greater than that.”
Author J.K. Rowling, who is responsible for both the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise, previously admitted producers had considered recasting Johnny’s role in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ but decided against it once abuse allegations were dropped.
Taking to her website, she wrote: “When Johnny Depp was cast as Grindelwald, I thought he’d be wonderful in the role. However, around the time of filming his cameo in the first movie, stories had appeared in the press that deeply concerned me and everyone most closely involved in the franchise.
“‘Harry Potter’ fans had legitimate questions and concerns about our choice to continue with Johnny Depp in the role.
“As David Yates, long-time ‘Harry Potter’ director, has already said, we naturally considered the possibility of recasting. I understand why some have been confused and angry about why that didn’t happen.
“However, the agreements that have been put in place to protect the privacy of two people, both of whom have expressed a desire to get on with their lives, must be respected.
“Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting, but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.
“I accept that there will be those who are not satisfied with our choice of actor in the title role. However, conscience isn’t governable by committee. Within the fictional world and outside it, we all have to do what we believe to be the right thing.”

Armie Hammer wants MAn From U.N.C.L.E. sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Armie Hammer wants to make another ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ movie.
The 31-year-old actor had a great time working on the 1960s spy tale with Henry Cavill, Alicia Vikander and director Guy Ritchie and revealed he’s had conversations with the filmmaker about making another film in the series.
Told by Collider they were keen on another ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E.’ movie, he said: “Yeah. Me too, man. I’d love to.
“[Guy and I] had some chats about it and we talked about potential script ideas and stuff like that. I’ve been talking to Lionel [Wigram], who produced and co-wrote and wrote the first one. Yeah, we’ll see. You never know what’s going to happen.”
But fans shouldn’t be expecting to see a sequel in the near future because the director is tied up with other commitments.
Armie added: “It all depends. Guy’s really busy right now doing ‘Aladdin’, so we’ll see. You never know.”
In 2013, Armie worked with Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski on ‘The Lone Ranger’ but admitted he never knew what was planned for mooted sequels because the scope of the film was such a “monumental undertaking” that there was no time for conversation, and once it was released to scathing reviews and poor box office figures, any suggestions of a follow-up were immediately “squashed”.
He said: “We never made it that far. That was such a monumental undertaking. It was just a massive budget and a huge physical production.
“We built close to 20 miles of our own personal railway. We built multiple towns. At one point, we had like a 500-person crew on that movie, I think.
“It was really just focusing on handling everything we had to then, so we never really got a chance to talk about where it would go in the future. And then it opened to the reception it did, so any talk of sequels was sort of squashed.”

Jessica Chastain will direct

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain is planning to quit acting.
The ‘Molly’s Game’ actress will “step back” and move behind the camera some day because she’s keen to bring other people into the spotlight to enjoy the success she’s had in her career.
She told Grazia magazine: “Every day I feel like there is something new I never imagined I’d be doing.
“If anything, I think in the future I’m going to step back and I’m probably going to produce more. I may even direct.
“I’m interested in taking the light that has been shined on me and maybe shining it on some other people. I don’t feel like I’m having to sacrifice anything because in reality this world is bigger than what my dream was.”
During last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Jessica – who was a member of the jury – blasted the “disturbing” representation of women in film.
In an emotional speech, she said: “I do believe that if you have female storytelling you also have more authentic female characters. This is the first time I watched 20 films in 10 days, and I love movies. The one thing I really took away from this experience is how the world views women, from the female characters that were represented. It was quite disturbing to me, to be honest. There were some exceptions, I will say, [but] for the most part, I was surprised by the representation of female characters on screen in these films.”
But the ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star recently admitted she didn’t go to Cannes with the intention to make such a powerful statement but nervously took the opportunity once she was on the jury.
She said: “I did not expect to say it. I was very nervous as I was talking, because I was formulating my words, and it was actually coming from a very true place. And then after I spoke, every other woman on the jury spoke to the same thing. The one big regret, from whatever came out of Cannes, was that their statements did not also go around. But yes, I was not alone in what I felt being on that jury.”

Mark Strong spills on Shazam! secrecy

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Strong has revealed the scripts on ‘Shazam!’ have encrypted technology which makes the text disappear if you stop reading for “20 seconds”.
The 54-year-old English actor is to play villain Doctor Sivana in the DC Extended Universe movie about teenage boy Billy Baston who can transform into adult superhero Captain Marvel when he utters the word which is the film’s title.
Strong has not been surprised by the level of secrecy on David F. Sandberg’s project as he knows how guarded comic book films are because he played Sinestro in the panned Ryan Reynolds-led ‘Green Lantern’, and he admits he was desperate to return to the DC universe due to the reception the 2011 Warner Bros. Pictures movie got.
Speaking at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil ‘OVO’ at The Royal Albert Hall in London, he spilled: “If you stop reading the script for 20 seconds then the whole thing goes fuzzy and you have to start again. Everything is watermarked and traceable too.
“I’m playing an evil bastard called Doctor Sivana, they are always the best characters to play, the most fun. I was Sinestro in Green Lantern which I though was a rather good film but it didn’t do what they wanted so I feel like I’ve got unfinished business in the DC world, I played a pretty evil character in that and he was meant to get even worse in the second one but that never happened but I think I’m going to get the chance to do that in ‘Shazam!’, I hope so.”
Zachary Levi is to star as the adult superhero with Asher Angel portraying the young Billy and Strong has echoed Levi’s claim that the movie is a cross between Tom Hanks’ 1988 comedy ‘Big’ – which sees 12-year-old Josh Baskin turn into a 30-year-old man after his wish to be a grown-up comes true – and ‘Superman’.
Strong said: “It’s a funny film, it’s about a young boy who can become a superhero but still remains a young boy so there’s elements of ‘Big’ there’s elements of ‘Stranger Things’. I think originally the comic outsold ‘Superman’ in the 1940s.”
And Strong – who is best known for his roles in films ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ and ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ – has been getting ready for the start of the shoot by pushing himself in the gym so he can do as many of his stunts as possible.
He shared: “I’ve been training like a mad man, I’m about to go over and see the stunt guys, I’ve been trying all of these harnesses on and I think I’m going to be doing lots of flying around and firing electricity out of my hands.”
The character Captain Marvel was created by C.C. Beck and writer Bill Parker back in 1939 and first appeared in Whiz Comics #2 a year later.
When Billy utters the magic word “Shazam” – an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury – he becomes the superhero.

Amber Davies shocked over Kem Cetinay’s heartbreak claims

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Davies claims to have been bombarded with messages from women claiming they’ve slept with Kem Cetinay.
The ‘Love Island’ star split from her boyfriend in November and she can’t believe the ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestant has been speaking about how heartbroken he is and his struggle to get over the break-up, when she thinks he’s private behaviour suggests otherwise.
She told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I felt like I’d been stabbed, but Kem was saying he was bleeding.
“I’ve had a handful of messages from girls – some sent just a few days after we had split – saying they had slept with him. Others have been from people claiming their friends have slept with him.
“People deal with things in different ways, maybe that was his way. But if I was sleeping with loads of people, I wouldn’t speak publicly about how heartbroken I was.”
Amber has been romantically linked with singer Olly Murs and ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star Pete Wicks since her split from Kem, but she insists she’s happily single and finding exercise the best way to get over her heartache, thanks to the launch of her new fitness programme Strong Not Skinny.
She added: “After we split up I was straight into party mode, but behind the scenes I felt very anxious. So after Christmas I started going to the gym with a personal trainer friend.
“That helped me feel better and it lead to me launching Strong Not Skinny.”
Kem recently claimed he was “gutted” by reports linking Amber with other stars.
He said: “I’m not going to lie when I say that it does really hurt. I am gutted. It does make me sad. It is hard to see.
“I am not going to sit here and say it is fine – I still have feelings for her – but at the end of the day, if she wants to date a celeb then I have to accept it. There’s nothing I can say.”

Nicole Scherzinger slams Simon Cowell

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger is furious she’s not been asked to return to ‘The X Factor’ yet.
The ‘Poison’ singer is believed to be the only member of the 2017 panel – which also included show boss Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne – not to be committed for the 2018 contest, following rumours Cheryl Tweedy is to return for a third stint, and she’s not happy about the delay.
She fumed to the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Simon is so f***ing last minute we know in the same month that he announces it. We’ll see what happens.”
But if the 39-year-old star doesn’t keep her ‘X Factor’ job, she’s unlikely to be too disappointed as she was spotted mingling with movie bosses at an Amazon Studios Golden Globes afterparty earlier this week and is said to have a number of other opportunities in the pipeline.
A source said: “Nicole was invited as a lot of important film people want to work with her.
“If she doesn’t go back to ‘X Factor’ there will be lots of other opportunities.
“She’s one of those super-talented people who can sing, dance and act. She’s got it all and she’s up for different roles and jobs.”
While Simon is said to be keen for Cheryl to replace Nicole on the show, Louis recently admitted he’d prefer to keep the former Pussycat Dolls singer on the panel.
He said: “Nicole is my favourite because of her work ethic.
“She just gets into it and you never know what she’s going to say, do or wear.
“That’s why I love her because she brings a whole new energy to it.”

Nitin Ganatra though Masood Ahmed would get recast

OHMYGOSSIP — Nitin Ganatra thought ‘EastEnders’ bosses were going to recast Masood Ahmed.
The 50-year-old actor left the long-running soap as the loveable postman a year ago and has admitted he was shocked when producers got back in touch with him recently to ask him to reprise his alter ego because he thought that chapter of his life was over.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he said: “I’m usually aware of what’s going on around me and I can predict things, but when they asked me if I wanted to return it as so unexpected that it left me speechless. That’s not happened before! … I thought it was the end of a chapter for me, but not necessarily for Masood – he could have been recast as a much more handsome guy, as it sometimes the way in TV world. But as far as I was concerned, it was the end of my time on the show and I was making plans.”
Nitin thoroughly enjoys playing the role of Masood because he believes the viewers can relate to him more than they can bad boy Max Branning (played by Jake Wood).
He explained: “One of the best things about Masood is his reliability. Not every man can relate to Max Branning and if they do, it’s a worrying world we live in.
“The majority of men can relate to Masood regardless of his religion and his colour, and that’s what is so beautiful about this.”
And he wasn’t the only one excited about returning to the show as some of the children he works with were over the moon when he told them about him reprising his role.
He said: “I work with young kids, and I went to an event at a school recently.
“When I stood up to talk, I told them I’d come straight from work at Albert Square because Masood is back – and everyone got on their feet screaming. There were 200 teenagers chanting: ‘Masood!'”

Mark Wright owes success to Niall Horan

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wright owes his US success to Niall Horan.
The former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star landed his dream job working on ‘Extra’ last year and revealed in order to bag the position, he’d been given a week to “produce, direct and interview” a massive star on the scale of One Direction and the Beckham family, and though he initially panicked, he called the 24-year-old singer, who gave him behind-the-scenes access to
his debut music video.
Mark said: “I will thank Niall forever. I have got close to him over the last year and he has helped me settle in.”
And the 30-year-old star – who is married to Michelle Keegan – was given a full-time role after he got off a plane from Los Angeles back to the UK after being asked to interview James Corden.
He recalled in an interview with the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I was at the airport. Luggage in the hold. The producer Teresa calls me and says ‘Mark are you still in town?’.
“I was like ‘I am but I’m leaving now’. She said, ‘Oh, never mind. We had a James Corden interview and we were going to ask you to do it’.
“I get on the plane and something doesn’t feel right. I’m like ‘I’ve got to get off’. I call Teresa and I’m like ‘I’m coming back’. I got back to the hotel at 11pm and the next day I interviewed Corden.
“My boss told me, ‘What you did yesterday, that goes a million miles. I knew you were hungry because you got off that plane and made it happen’.
“Now I wake up every day, there is sunshine and I am buzzing to get to set. I feel good and it’s the most I have ever enjoyed work.”
Mark sees his future in the US and would only return to the UK if he was offered a “big Saturday night show”, though he doesn’t think it’s likely.
He said: “If I get offered the next big Saturday night show in England I would go home to do, it but then I would stay here.
“I’ve got a great relationship with ITV, but the shows aren’t there all the time plus there’s a pool of hosts so good at what they do. If I was a producer, I’d be giving a show to them too.”

Marnie Simpson wants a baby next year

OHMYGOSSIP — Marnie Simpson wants to have a baby next year.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star has just got the keys to her and her boyfriend Casey Johnson’s new house and it seems the couple aren’t hanging around when it comes to taking their relationship to the next level as they’re already thinking about starting a family together in the near future.
Marnie explained: “Maybe next year. He’d like one now but I’m going to wait. I think 27 would be a good age. I’ve always wanted a little boy – I think it’s because my family are all girls.”
And the 26-year-old beauty wouldn’t think twice if Casey, 22, was to pop the question to her.
She told OK! magazine: “If Casey proposed, I’d definitely say yes. He’s adorable. I don’t really mind how he does it – we could be watching a movie and he could do it. As long as it’s him, I don’t care…
“We’re like best friend. People who don’t know use don’t know if we’re together or not, but we do have a very passionate relationship behind closed doors.
“We have a very good sex life, but we have that really good friendship too”! Because in the long run, when a romance dies down, it’s friendship you have to fall back on.”
The couple – who have only been dating for six months – have received criticism over the past half a year because fans believe they’re moving too fast by buying a house in Bedford together.
Marnie added: “Casey’s The One, so it’s fine. It’s a lovely detached house with five bedrooms. It’s really pretty. It’s just outside London – in Bedfordshire. I’ve been ordering all the bits for it.”

Ant McPartlin filing for divorce

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant McPartlin is filing for divorce.
The TV presenter has confirmed that he and his wife Lisa Armstrong are ending their 11-year marriage after a turbulent year in which Ant was admitted to rehab after becoming reliant on alcohol and drugs following a botched knee operation.
His representative told The Sun on Sunday: “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.
“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families.
“No further statement will be made.”
Ant, 42, and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ make-up artist Lisa, 41, have known each other for 23 years and tied the knot in 2006.
He previously admitted he put his partner “through hell” because of his “mood swings” when he battled with depression and struggled with addiction.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ host has said that things started to spiral out of control two years ago when he had an operation to fix cartilage in his right knee.
In a bid to numb the pain, Ant began taking the prescription drug Tramadol and soon realised that he’d become hooked on the painkiller, which can cause speech disturbances, lack of co-ordination, headaches and drowsiness.
Speaking previously, the ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ star said: “I’ve put Lisa through hell with mood swings and depression and how it affects you.
“I’m very sorry about the effect it has on partners. This kind of stuff puts strains on any marriage.”
Ant had initially hidden his addictions from Lisa and his best friend and presenting partner Declan Donnelly.
He said: “I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry. I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time. I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”

Daniel Radcliffe ‘can see why people are frustrated’ over Johnny Depp’s Fantastic Beasts casting

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Radcliffe “can see why people are frustrated” over Johnny Depp’s casting in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
The 54-year-old actor has reprised his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the sequel, but some fans slammed bosses’ decision to bring him back for the next movie because of his controversial divorce from Amber Heard in 2016, in which she claimed he’d been abusive towards her throughout their marriage before later dropping the allegations, and begged them to re-cast the part.
However, although the producers did consider recasting the villain, they later decided against it because the allegations had been dropped – but Radcliffe can see why fans are annoyed by it.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 28-year-old actor said: “It’s a very hard thing for me. The ‘Fantastic Beasts’ producers are the ones who gave me a great start in life and an amazing job.
“I can see why people are frustrated with the response that they were given from that … I’m not saying anything that anybody hasn’t already said — and this is a weird analogy to draw — [but] in the NFL, there are lots of players arrested for smoking weed and there is other people’s behaviour that goes way beyond that and it’s tolerated because they’re very famous players. I suppose the thing I was struck by was, we did have a guy who was reprimanded for weed on the [original ‘Potter’] film, essentially, so obviously what Johnny has been accused of is much greater than that.”
Meanwhile, following on from the end of the first film, the sequel sees the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald escape from the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA).
Now the wizard is gathering followers to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings but, in order to stop him and his plans, a young Albus Dumbledore [Jude Law] enlists the help of Magizoologist Newt Scamander [Redmayne] who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.

Hugh Jackman’s co-star kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman’s children have cameos in ‘The Greatest Showman’.
The 49-year-old actor’s son Oscar, 17, and 12-year-old daughter Ava were frequent visitors to the set of his latest musical and they had a great time enjoying a brief moment in front of the camera.
Asked if the kids had visited the set, Hugh – who is married to Deborra-Lee Furness – said: “Yes. They’re both in the movie as spectators in the crowd. They were there for about three days and they both really enjoyed it.”
Oscar has previously made another brief appearance in another of his father’s movies, ‘Australia’, but he found the experience so boring, it put him off any ideas he might have had about pursing acting himself.
Hugh told Britain’s OK! magazine: “Oscar was in ‘Australia’ when he was 10 years old and [director] Baz Luhrmann had him do the same thing four days in a row.
“Literally walk up the steps and walk across and down and he said, ‘I don’t know how you do your job Dad, this is the most boring thing I’ve ever done.’
“I was like, ‘Great, mission accomplished.’ ”
However, the ‘Logan’ star may find it harder to dissuade his daughter from a life in the spotlight.
He said: “She would love to be on stage to sing and dance and also become a chef. I always respond that a chef is good.”
Ava was particularly impressed when she saw ‘The Greatest Showman’ once it was complete.
Her father said: “They loved it. Ava said, ‘Dad, this is by far the best movie you’ve ever done.’ She’s 12 and so it’s right down her alley.”

Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Charles Manson movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson movie.
The ‘Kill Bill’ filmmaker has reportedly asked the 43-year-old hunk to join his line up for the film, which will centre around the murder of pregnant actress Sharon Tate – the wife of director Roman Polanski – who was stabbed to death by members of the Manson Family in August 1969, although he won’t be playing the leading role as it’s believed he’s being eyed up to portray an ageing actor, according to Variety.
The 54-year-old director – who has written the script for the movie – is keen to secure Margot Robbie to play the role of Sharon, while Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are rumoured to be portraying two other major roles.
The film is currently untitled and being shopped around studios looking for co-financing and co-distribution ahead of a proposed shooting date of summer this year.
Sharon was eight months pregnant when she was brutally murdered.
The notorious cult leader had ordered a group of his followers to attack the inhabitants of a Los Angeles house which he believed was owned by a record producer who had rejected him and over the course of several hours, the quartet used guns and knives to kill the actress and four other occupants.
In 1971, Manson – who died last year – and other members of his group were sentenced to life in jail for the killings, as well as a number of other murders committed that summer.
If the project does go ahead, it will be the first time the ‘Inglourious Basterds’ director has made a movie based on true events.
Tarantino recently revealed he plans to make two more movies and will then retire.

Idris Elba found directing difficult

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba didn’t realise how “difficult” directing would be.
The 45-year-old actor has stepped behind the camera to work on ‘Yardie’, and though he had a lot of “fun” making a film for the first time, it wasn’t easy.
He said: “I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to direct this material, with which I can identify quite a bit.
“The story takes place in London and Jamaica, and it’s based on the novel [Victor Headley’s ‘Yardie’], which was popular urban fiction in the 1980s and 1990s.
“It’s been a lot of fun but the hardest thing I’ve done.
“I never realised how difficult it was going to be, but I loved it and getting to spend time in Jamaica was phenomenal.”
Idris can currently be seen on camera in ‘Molly’s Game’ and he was “blown away” when ‘The West Wing’ screenwriter Aaron Sorkin asked him to be a part of his directorial debut.
He told Psychologies magazine: “‘Molly’s Game’ is his directorial debut and he’s obviously learned a lot from working with so many great directors.
“He’s a true genius and one of the greatest screenwriters in history.
“I was blown away when he called to ask me if I wanted to do his film. I just told him, ‘I’m in’. ”
Idris plays criminal defence lawyer Charlie Jaffey in the movie and only broke from using his character’s American accent when his 16-year-old daughter Isan visited him on set.
He said: “I had so much dialogue and only a short period of time in which to do it.
“I couldn’t afford to let myself slip back into my usual voice.
“I needed to concentrate on the accent so I would speak to everyone in Charlie’s voice.
“It was only when my daughter, Issy, came on set to visit me that I would go back to speaking the way I normally do.”
