Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend gets 8 months added to sentence

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins has had eight months added onto his jail sentence after he was caught trying to speak to her on his smuggled phone.
The 25 year old was sentenced to two decades behind bars with an extra five years on licence at Wood Green Crown Court last month after he was found guilty of throwing acid on a group of revellers in a packed nightclub in London in April last year.
But he’ll now have to spend even longer locked up after he admitted at the end of last month to one charge of possessing a prohibited item while in prison.
Sentencing, Judge Nicholas Heathcote Williams said: “The presence of a mobile phone or component part such as a Sim card has many implications, not only for the prison establishment, but also the wider environment. It provides a prisoner or prisoners with an opportunity to communicate they would otherwise not have. This therefore allows them to act in a way prison is supposed to prevent them from doing.”
The court heard that Arthur – who appeared via video link from prison – hid a phone, two sim cards and two memory sticks in the crutch while awaiting trial.
He claimed that he’d used the device to make calls to Ferne – who was pregnant with his child and gave birth to their little girl Sunday in November – last year.
Arthur was found guilty of five counts of GBH with intent and nine counts of ABH after 22 people were injured when he lobbed the liquid in Mangle E8 last year.
One victim suffered third-degree chemical burns to the left side of the face and required a skin graft, while others had eye injuries.
Arthur admitted to throwing the liquid but claimed during the court case in November that he believed it was a date rape drug that he’d confiscated from someone.
He had six previous convictions – including using threatening words, possession of cocaine, drink-driving and assault – and was given a six-month sentence suspended for 12 months at Woolwich Crown Court for punching a man in a nightclub in 2015.

Governess teases This Morning hosts with Bradley Walsh praise

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby jokingly cut Anne Hegerty’s interview short on ‘This Morning’ today (17.01.18) after she claimed Bradley Walsh was the best presenter.
The ‘Chase’ star – whose nickname is The Governess’ – landed herself in hot water during her appearance on the brunch time show as she heaped praise on her co-star for teaching her everything she needed to know to front her own programme ‘Britain’s Brightest Family’.
Speaking on ‘This Morning, she said when asked how ‘The Chase’ reacted to her new show: “[Bradley] was delighted… He came and said to me I’ve heard about your new gig and congratulations. I sat there thinking ‘I learned from the best, I’ve been watching you for years’.”
Realising what she had said, Anne cheekily added: “And apologies, but no one can be as good as him. Sorry, you’re quite good, but…”
The studio erupted into laughter and Phillip – who is up against Bradley for Best Television Presenter at the National Television Awards – shot the camera a stern look.
He laughed: “Well, that came out of nowhere! Thanks for coming.”
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old star also admitted she can be very competitive on ‘The Chase’ – and has even lashed out at the set out of frustration when things haven’t gone her way.
She said: “I have been known to come back down those stairs and kick the set…
“Sometimes when things just went wrong and I just couldn’t get the answers up to my brain in time, it can be so frustrating. It’s our reputation up there, and we don’t want to look foolish.”

Antony Cotton is best friends with Kylie Minogue

OHMYGOSSIP — Antony Cotton has been friends with Kylie Minogue for 20 years.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who is known for playing knicker-stitcher Sean Tully in the long-running soap – has revealed he feels so honoured to be performing to one of the pop star’s tracks as part of Disco Week on ‘Dancing on Ice’ this weekend because they’ve been pals for over two decades after meeting at a party in Manchester.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (17.01.18), he said: “The theme is disco and I’m doing my routine to a Kylie track – it’s very fitting actually because Kylie is releasing her first new music in quite a while on Friday.
“I’ve known Kylie for a good few years now. Her best friend Willie is from Manchester and that’s how I met her probably about 20 years ago.”
And, although he didn’t receive an overly high score when he made his debut on the ice earlier this month, the 42-year-old actor feels “fighting fit” for this week.
He said: “I’m OK actually, I’ve kind of gone through that side of things.
“I had a bit of a groin injury, a wrist injury, a bit of ankle trouble but that’s plateaued now so I seem to be fighting fit.”
And he’s adamant he won’t be taking any stick from acid-tongue judge Jason Gardiner.
He said: “I’ve known Jason for 20 years and I know the real Jason. He’s a tough judge and he texted me and said: ‘Please, please, please be good because if you’re not, I’m going to let you have it.’ But I’ve got a couple of lines if he starts.”
Anthony will be going up against his co-star Brooke Vincent – who portrays Sophie Webster on the show – from this weekend but he’s certain there’s no rivalry.
He said recently: “It’s strange because I am fiercely competitive but with Brooke, if someone said: ‘It’s either Brooke or you.’ I’d say: ‘Let Brooke go and win, let her do it.’ ”

Ardal O’Hanlon wants to do Death in Paradise for 20 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Ardal O’Hanlon wants to do ‘Death in Paradise’ for “at least” 20 years.
The 52-year-old actor – who has taken over the lead role as DI Jack Mooney in the detective series – has only just arrived on the sunny island of Guadeloupe – a French overseas region – but is planning on sticking around for another two decades.
He explained when asked how long he’ll stay on the island for: “Twenty years at least! Maybe 30. I don’t know. If I can be commissioner for the last ten years I’ll be happy enough, and let someone else take over the detective role…”
But Ardal has admitted he’s nervous about taking on the lead role because he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to match up to Kris Marshall – who played DI Humphrey Goodman for four years – as he was so well-loved by the viewers.
Ardal told the Radio Times magazine: “For me the real pleasure is just being there and working with great actors, great directors and interpreting scripts and trying to work out the best way of doing it.
“Whatever happens after that terrifies me. Are people going to like it? Are people going to hate my character? Are people going to continue to watch it?
“I’m so aware that it’s a big show and people love it and you don’t want to do anything to let the side down or to let the viewers down.
“But I think the show is bigger than any character. That’s the thing about this show: the island is a character in this show, the scenery is a special part of this show, the ingenious puzzles at the heart of the show are really what make it.
“At least, that’s what I tell myself. It’s not my fault! It’s not down to me!”

Russell Howard’s dog went missing

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Howard’s dog went missing yesterday (16.01.18).
The 37-year-old comedian got himself into a fluster on Tuesday afternoon after he lost his pet pooch Archie while taking him for a walk around Primrose Hill – near Camden – in North London and later took to his social networking sites to appeal for help.
Alongside a photograph of his four-legged friend – an adorable Jack Russell Terrier – he wrote: “My dog Archie has gone missing around the Camden/Primrose Hill area. If you see him tweet me and I’ll get in contact. Please RT. (sic)”
Singer Cher was the first person to get in touch with Russell after the alert was put out but, rather than give him some information that could see him reunited with Archie, she simply apologised for his loss and accompanied it with a broken heart emoji.
However, it wasn’t long before the funny man found Archie and admitted he was “very happy” to have the furry creature cuddled up snoozing on his sofa in the evening.
He took to his Twitter account an hour later to share a photo of Archie stretched out next to him replenishing his energy after his wild goose chase a few hours before.
He tweeted: “We found him. Thanks everyone!
“He’s safe and well and sleeping. I’m very happy x (sic)”

Aaron Sidwell won’t do a soap again

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Sidwell never wants to do a soap again after he was allegedly “taken for granted” on ‘EastEnders’.
The 29-year-old actor – who played psycho Steven Beale in the long-running soap – was killed off last year after his alter ego died from smoke inhalation caused by a fire he started, but he has admitted he won’t be signing up to another show any time soon because he didn’t like the way he was treated during filming.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I don’t want to do a soap again. It wasn’t a discipline I enjoyed. I mean, I admire the actors on there who are so instinctive that they can do it, but I was definitely ready to go. There was a lot of negativity around, and my storylines did meander for me. I also think the soap actors can sometimes get taken for granted too.”
Aaron is now starring in the touring musical ‘Wicked’ and feels much more at home on stage than on screen because he gets to “push boundaries” and he feels there’s always a new skill he can develop.
He explained: “I always felt like I didn’t belong there quite as much as I do in a theatre environment. Doing theatre means you get to push boundaries a little more, and there’s always something new to discover.”
Meanwhile, Aaron has made no secret of the fact he thought it was “odd” that producers had decided to kill off Steven but is pleased he went back because it allowed him to get enough money to buy a house.
He said recently: “At first I was gutted but I went back to ‘EastEnders’ because I wanted to buy a house and I’ve done that now. It feels like the right time to move on. I feel sorry for Adam Woodyatt, I think he’s still digesting the news. Killing off another one of his on-screen children seemed like an odd decision, but the writers assured us there’s a bigger picture. Time will tell if it was the right thing to do.”

Shane Richie turned down EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Shane Richie won’t be reprising his role as Alfie Moon on ‘EastEnders’ anytime soon.
The 53-year-old actor – who recently confirmed he’s returning as cheeky entertainer Sammy Valentino in ITV’s ‘Benidorm’ – has dashed hopes of him returning to Albert Square to be reunited with his on-screen wife Kat Moon [Jessie Wallace], after revealing he snubbed the BBC soap to give himself a break from “showbiz”.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’m in a fortunate position where I can pick and choose what I want to do and EastEnders at the moment I said no to it.
“I just need to take a break from television and a little break away from showbiz.
“Trust me, it’s not because I’ve got loads of money because that is far from the truth. But I just need to pick and choose.”
Shane’s loveable alter ego was last seen on an operating table on spin-off show ‘Redwater’ with viewers unsure whether he would survive, and while the programme has since been axed, Jessie has been in talks to be coming back to Walford.
An ‘EastEnders’ source previously revealed: “The aim is to establish the Slaters once again as a force of strong women to be reckoned with.
“Alfie’s comeback is some way off but it was always the plan to reunite them. Who could resist a bit more Kat and Alfie?”
As well as Jessie, Laila Morse has confirmed she is making a comeback as Slater family matriarch Big Mo Harris, a part she first played in 2000.
She will head back to Walford next spring alongside Jean Slater, who is played by Gillian Wright.
Laila said: “I’m really excited to be coming back.
“It’s the one question I’m constantly asked. I can’t wait to see everyone and get stuck back into life in Walford.”
Jean – who plays Lacey Turner’s character Stacey Slater’s mother – said: “I am delighted the Slater women are to be reunited once more.
“I have always adored working alongside Lacey, Jessie and Laila and I am looking forward to being reacquainted with everyone at ‘EastEnders’ again.”
Jessie also admitted she is delighted to be “coming home”.
She said: “I am thrilled to be returning to ‘EastEnders’ next year and knowing what John Yorke has in store for the Slaters is incredibly exciting.
“I love Kat and Walford dearly and I cannot wait to get started – watch out Walford, Kat’s coming home.”

Judge Rinder ‘splits from husband Seth Cummings’

OHMYGOSSIP — Judge Rinder has split from his husband Seth Cummings.
The criminal barrister – whose real name is Robert Rinder – and political advisor have been together for more than 11 years, but they have reportedly decided to go their separate ways in an “amicable” split.
A source close to the TV judge said: “It’s very sad news but Rob is separating from his partner of 11-and-a-half-years.
“He’s very upset about the situation, but the split is amicable and no one else is involved.”
Robert, 39, is yet to confirm his split from Seth – who he married in a civil ceremony in Ibiza in 2013 – and is said to be keen to “focus” on his TV work.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “Rob has never spoken about his relationship and nothing will change on that front.
“He very much wants to focus on his work, including ‘Judge Rinder’ on ITV which he absolutely adores.”
The TV judge is good pals with Benedict Cumberbatch, who officiated the pair’s civil partnership on the Spanish island.
Robert returned the favour to Benedict – who he has been pals with since they studied together at Manchester University – by acting as best man at his wedding to Sophie Hunter on the Isle of White on Valentine’s Day 2015.
A source said at the time: “Benedict had three best men, but only one was famous – and that was Judge Rinder.
“There was speculation that he chose another actor, but he wanted genuine old friends in the role.”
Robert has previously said he’s hugely appreciative of the support he’s received from his long-time friend.
He said: “He’s an old friend from Manchester University. He’s always been hugely supportive.”
Ahead of officiating his friend’s wedding, ‘Sherlock’ star Benedict admitted it was a “lovely thing to be asked to do” and joked it could be the start of a new career for him.
He quipped: “Of course, I’m going to make a joke after it, ‘I do weddings. Next will be children’s parties and bat mitzvahs.’
“It’s a mainly Jewish and gay audience, so hopefully they will be lenient towards me.”

Susie Amy praises Gary Lucy

OHMYGOSSIP — Susie Amy has adored working with Gary Lucy again.
The 36-year-old actress has reunited with her former ‘Footballer’s Wives’ on-screen husband in ‘Hollyoaks’ – in which she plays Scarlett, the secret estranged wife of her pal’s character Luke Morgan – and they’re having a great time being back on camera together.
She said: “It’s really nice to be working with Gary again.
“We were always very close, though I think with me being on ‘Hollyoaks’ now, every day has been a bit of a flashback for him.
“‘Footballers Wives’ was my first big job and we were so young then, it’s something that holds very fond memories for me.’ ”
But the actress admitted the dynamic between Luke and Scarlett is very different to that of their ‘Footballers Wives’ alter egos, Kyle and Chardonnay.
She said: “It’s a very different dynamic. Luke and Scarlett are not fond of each other, whereas Kyle and Chardonnay were madly in love.”
And she insisted though both her characters seem very glamorous, they’re not that similar.
She told Closer magazine: “They honestly haven’t tried to do that.
“The only similarity is that I look like both characters, only one of them is much younger.”
Susie’s first episode airs next week and she can’t wait to tune in, especially as she’s gotten “addicted” to the soap since she was cast.
She said: “I’m really excited about my first episode and I will definitely be watching it.
“I know a lot of people don’t like to watch themselves but I’m easy about that.
“I’ve been catching up with the show to make sure I’m up to date with everyone’s storylines and now I’m totally addicted.”

Jamie Bell’s thrill to work with Annette Bening

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Bell’s interest was “piqued” when he heard Annette Bening was cast in ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’.
The 31-year-old actor stars alongside the multi-award nominee in the new movie by Paul McGuigan and admitted when he first got the script he didn’t read any of the notes, but when he heard Bening was also starring in the movie, he wanted to get involved.
In an interview with Collider, Bell said: “I was sent the script and in my usual fashion, I didn’t really read any of the notes associated with it. I just started reading Page 1, as a cold read. I had no idea who Gloria Grahame was, but I had heard that Annette Bening was doing it, which piqued my interest because I’ve always wanted to work with her. I just love her work. But I didn’t know anything about the story and I didn’t know it was a true story. I went in to do a bit of a reading with Annette, and Barbara Broccoli, our producer, was there. Paul McGuigan, our director, was also there. Barbara told me that she had known Peter (Turner) and Gloria when they were together, and she’s been friends with Peter for many, many years.
“She’s been trying to make this film for over 20 years. And then, she handed me the memoir and that’s when I really felt the power of the story.
“Because this all really happened, and because this man was still with us and could share his insight, and having Annette play this wonderful Hollywood star, it all just came together in my head.
“It felt such a wonderful opportunity to be a part of it, and I was lucky enough to get the role of Peter.”
The film sees Bening portraying real life actress Gloria Grahame who meets the unknown actor Peter Turner (Bell) in 1978 leading to the two starting a vibrant love affair despite their age difference.
‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ is based on Turner’s memoirs about his affair with the B-Movie actress.

Christoph Waltz wasn’t happy with Spectre

OHMYGOSSIP — Christoph Waltz wasn’t entirely “happy” with his James Bond movie ‘Spectre’.
The 61-year-old actor starred as the villain Blofeld in the 2015 action film where, at the end, his character was revealed to be Bond’s quasi-stepbrother, but despite Daniel Craig returning once more as the 007 spy for ‘Bond 25’, Waltz confirmed he has no plans to return and wishes he could change some aspects of his performance.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, Waltz said: “It was an incredible experience to be part of this postwar cultural phenomenon. Yet I can’t say that I was happy at every step of the process. I feel that there are some loose ends with my engagement. And I’m not saying that I’m going to be in the next one. I’m not going to be in the next one. But let’s say, in terms of my feeling that I have sufficiently served a purpose, there are a few white blotches on that map for me, personally. I don’t want to be critical of something that doesn’t deserve to be criticised, so that’s why I’m being a little cryptic. There are just certain things I am unhappy with. I wish I would have gotten the opportunity to iron those glitches out.”
Craig, 49, is coming back as 007 for one final outing and recently revealed he is keen for Monica Bellucci, 53, to reprise her role as Lucia Sciarra opposite him.
At the time of filming ‘Spectre’, Bellucci was 51 which made her the oldest Bond girl ever and if she does appear in the new movie – which is slated for release in November 2019 – then she would break her own record.
Craig only confirmed he would be donning Bond’s tuxedo one final time a few months ago, and his motivation for staying in the franchise is that he will break the late Sir Roger Moore’s record as the longest Bond when 2019 rolls around as he will have been in possession of the iconic part for 13 years.

Dave Bautista’s casting concern for Blade Runner 2049

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista almost didn’t land the role of Sapper Morton in ‘Blade Runner 2049’ because he was “too young”.
The 48-year-old wrestler-turned-actor is best known for portraying Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and last year he landed a part in the highly anticipated sequel to Sir Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi cult classic.
However, on the ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Blu-ray special features, Bautista and director Denis Villeneuve reveal he nearly lost out on the part because of his age.
Villeneuve said: “The vulnerability that Dave brought to the character was essential for the movie to be a success. Dave was such a charismatic and strong presence, but there was only one problem – he was too young to play that part.”
Bautista eventually got the part as the farmer replicant alongside Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford – who reprised his role as Rick Deckard – but he said it was “completely different” to anything he had done before.
He said: “This was something completely different from anything I’d ever done, actually playing a character who was older than myself.
“Throughout my experience in Hollywood, I was either too big or too old. I had never been told I was too young, and I just didn’t know what to say. And then they got in touch with me and asked if I would go through some makeup tests to try and age me. I said, ‘Of course.’ ”
Bautista managed to look older with the help of makeup artist Donald Mowat who transformed him for the role.
Villeneuve said: “People were walking in thinking, ‘Oh, I didn’t know he was that old.’ And I knew it was a success because people were not seeing the effect of the makeup. They were just seeing an old Dave Bautista.”

Adam Shankman has written Enchanted 2 script

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Shankman has revealed he is “super happy” with the ‘Enchanted 2’ script.
The 53-year-old ‘Hairspray’ filmmaker landed the job of directing the follow-up movie to the hit 2007 Disney movie – which saw Princess Gisele (Amy Adams) chose New York divorce lawyer Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) over Prince Edward (James Marsden).
And now, 10 years later, the studio is looking to make a sequel and Adams reportedly has signed up to reprise her role as Princess Giselle, and Shankman has now revealed they will be handing in a script soon.
Speaking to Slashfilm, Shankman said: “We are handing in a script in a couple weeks that I’m super happy with.
“Then gotta get the music written. There’s a lot more songs this time than there were in the original, at least in the planning phase right now.
“As for the animation, it’s probably about the same amount.”
The follow up – known as ‘Disenchanted’ – will be set 10 years after the original and feature Giselle “questioning her happily ever after, and accidentally triggering events that make everyone’s lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia”.
It is not yet clear if Dempsey or Marsden will return for the sequel.
The sequel was originally due to be filmed in 2010 and is now set to begin filming in 2017, 10 years on from its original release.
The script has been written by David Stem and David Weiss.
Recently, Kevin Lima – who helmed the original movie – revealed he didn’t want there to be an ‘Enchanted’ sequel.
Lima stepped away from the sequel and said he thinks his original movie is “complete in and of itself”.
Speaking to Den of Geek, Lima said: “I always find that I’m heading off into the world looking for new adventures.
“The idea of making a sequel isn’t the most intriguing for me. At the same time, I haven’t been able to even suggest a sequel to them.
“‘Enchanted’ feels like a movie that’s complete in and of itself. I’m sure if I was forced to stick my nose to the grindstone I could work something out.
“I don’t have a story that feels compelling, though. Nothing’s come to me. I tend not to dwell on it.
“I keep thinking what’s next? What other stories can I tell?”

Florian Munteanu will play Ivan Drago’s son in Creed II

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone has announced Florian ‘Big Nasty’ Munteanu will be playing Ivan Drago’s son in ‘Creed II’.
The 71-year-old action legend took to Instagram to reveal the 27-year-old Romanian boxer has been cast in the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2015 movie – which starred Michael B. Jordan as the titular pugilist.
Writing on the photo sharing site, Stallone captioned an image of Munteanu: “Congratulations to Florian ” Big Nasty” Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son! 27 years old, 6 feet four, 245 pounds of talent. #mgm #creed #creed2 (sic)”
Munteanu reposted Stallone’s announcement and said it is a “huge honour” to land the role in “such a big movie”.
He wrote: “Now it’s very official!!! I’m so happy and thankful to announce that I will play IVAN DRAGO’S son in CREED II
“A huge honor to play in such a big movie directed by @stevencaplejr next to@officialslystallone, @michaelbjordan & @dolphlundgren. Can’t even describe my feelings in words right now … But I’ll promise you this … I’ll work my ass of to make this movie unforgettable. Huge thank you to @eduardirimia & the @superkombat Academy for making a dream come true. And of course to my parents and brothers at home, without them this would have not been possible.
“EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND WORK HARD. #creed #creed2 #bignasty #drago (sic)”
Both Stallone and Jordan are set to reprise their respective roles in the upcoming sequel which will be helmed by Steven Caple.
Last July, Stallone teased ‘Creed 2’ would be inspired by ‘Rocky IV’ and shared a photoshopped movie poster in which Adonis stands toe-to-toe with Russian boxer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) who was responsible for killing his father Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) in the ring in the 1985 classic.
‘Creed’ was a spin-off and sequel to the hit ‘Rocky’ film franchise, in which Stallone portrayed heroic boxer Rocky Balboa six times.
Stallone appeared as the Italian Stallion in ‘Creed’ and was responsible for training Adonis, the son of heavyweight champion Apollo – Rocky’s most famous opponent – who was portrayed by Weathers in the first four ‘Rocky’ movies.

Rita Ora set to star in British movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has been working on a secret British movie.
The pop star is no stranger to the big screen having appeared in ‘Fast & Furious 6’ and ‘Southpaw’, while she plays Mia Grey in the ‘Fifty Shades’ franchise.
Now the ‘Anywhere’ hitmaker has revealed she has landed a part in a new film featuring homegrown talent.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I can’t give too much away but it’s really exciting because it’s based out of here and all the actors are British so it’s a really nice vibe.”
In 2016, Rita was rumoured to be in the running for a role in ‘The Flash’ film.
The singer-and-actress was said to be set to play reporter Iris West in the DC Comics movie, in which Ezra Miller plays the super-fast superhero Barry Allen.
However, Kiersey Clemons landed the role of the Picture News journalist who will be The Flash’s love interest in ‘Flashpoint’, which is now slated to be released in 2020.
The Flash appeared briefly in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and made his first full appearance on the big screen in ‘Justice League’ in November.
The standalone ‘Flash’ movie will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa from a script written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
In the comic book, Iris goes on to marry Barry Allen after the pair fall in love.
In the meantime, Rita has the new movie ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ hitting cinemas next month, and she has even released a song for the soundtrack called ‘For You’, which features One Direction star Liam Payne.
