Christine McGuinness scared to date again after marriage split

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine McGuinness is scared to date another man following her split from Paddy McGuinness.
The 35-year-old TV star split from her husband – with whom she shares three children – two years ago and admitted she is not ready to move on with another man just yet.
Speaking on her BBC Two series ‘Pilgrimage: The Road Through North Wales’, she said: “The only life I’ve known is with Patrick and I’m not sure what my path is now I’m on my own. I need to figure it out.
“Patrick and I have been separated for almost two years now, but I don’t think I’ve dealt with the separation completely yet and I know that one day I’m going to have to do that.
“Everyone has hard times, everyone has challenges, but if only you could gather all your trauma or your worries and just chuck it away.
“The biggest change is to come, I’m just scared of doing it.
Christine and Paddy, 50, still live together in their family home with twins Penelope and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six.
Christine told The Sun’s TV mag: “I don’t see myself getting married again. I just don’t. I’ve never had time to myself. I was with Patrick since I was 19 and now I’m single for the first time in a long time.
“I don’t need to tell anyone where I’m going or what I’m doing. That is so freeing and something that I’m not sure I want to give away again.’
“There hasn’t been an awful lot of change because we are a family, regardless of what’s between me and Patrick. We’re still in the family home, we’re still raising the children together. We’ve got a good understanding of parenting and how important it is for both of us to be in the children’s lives, so we support each other. We both equally want to be there to enjoy those times.”

Ryan Thomas ready for acting return

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas is ready to return to acting.
The 39-year-old star – who is best known for his 16-year stint as Jason Grimshaw in ‘Coronation Street’ – stepped back from his profession in 2021 to spend time with his family and pursue other ventures, but after winning ‘Dancing On Ice’ last weekend, he’s ready to take advantage of the offers it has brought his way.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Returning to acting is something I have been talking about.
“It is my trade after all, so I need to use that to the best of my advantage.
“There’s no definite role and it would all depend on what comes up but we’ll see what happens.”
The former ‘Neighbours’ actor – who has Scarlett, 15, with former girlfriend Tina O’Brien and Roman, three, and Lilah, 22 months, with fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh – didn’t expect ‘Dancing On Ice’ to be as “exhausting” as it was so he’s planning a holiday to recover, though he insisted his partner deserves it more than he does.
He said: “I had no idea how mentally and physically exhausting it would all be.
“But the biggest hero is Lucy. She’s been home alone looking after two kids under four which arguably is much harder than what I was doing.
“I missed them all so much I can’t wait to go on holiday and spend some quality family time together.”
However, Ryan suggested he still has no plans to tie the knot with the former ‘TOWIE’ star, almost five years after they got engaged.
He joked: “Lucy turned up to ‘DOI’ the other week in what looked like a wedding dress.
“I think it was a hint to me but we have got to stop having children first so they can walk down the aisle with us.
“We are engaged and I did put a ring on her finger but we keep having children.
“There’s still no date in the diary so stop reminding her.”

‘It’s a shame’: Giovanni Pernice speaks out on Amanda Abbington’s Strictly exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice believes he and Amanda Abbington could have “gone all the way” to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final.
The professional dancer was partnered with the 52-year-old actress last year but she quit after five weeks due to “medical reasons” and later claimed she had suffered PTSD after the show, something which the 33-year-old Italian has now branded “a shame”.
Speaking out about Amanda’s exit for the first time, Giovanni told the Sunday Mirror’s ‘Invite Only’ podcast: “It’s a shame because, in my opinion, she could have gone all the way.”
Giovanni has faced criticism for being too hard on his dance partners, but he insisted he just wants to do his best for the contestants.
He said: “I am a perfectionist, 100%, but it comes from a perspective of caring. I think all of the professional dancers are in the same place.
“In every single part of the world, if you’re a professional dancer on one of these shows, you have to get these people looking the best they can on Saturday night.
“And if we have good scores at the end, I do look back and say, ‘I’ve done a great job’. But we all care about our partners and we want that for them every single week – to look great on a Saturday.
“There’s no specific way that you are, or have to be with your celebrity. You make the most of their strengths so the only thing that’s constant is the fact that you have to do a show on Saturday night.”
Giovanni’s friend, ‘Strictly’ judge Anton du Beke also suggested he thought he and Amanda could have won the show.
He said: “I thought you and Amanda were marvellous. I thought you were terrific. I remember a few years ago, Kelvin Fletcher came in and danced in week one, and it was amazing.
“As a judge, you sit there and you don’t know what it’s going to be like. And then you go, like, ‘Stone the crows, that was rather good’. And you’re a bit overwhelmed by it because normally, it takes a little bit of time. But Kelvin was terrific straight away. And I thought Amanda was the same. She was terrific straight away.”

‘A deflated yoga ball used as a buffer’: Katy O’Brian shares the reality of ‘very silly’ sex scene shoots for Love Lies Bleeding

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy O’Brian’s sex scenes in ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ felt “not sexy and very silly”.
The 35-year-old actress gets intimate with both Kristen Stewart and Dave Franco in her latest movie but she insisted there is nothing “glamorous” about shooting the raunchy scenes and she and her co-stars saw the funny side because of all the protective clothing and “buffers” used.
She told People magazine: “It’s just so not glamorous, and it’s really not that sexy when you’re doing it. I mean, first of all, you’ve got a boom-mic guy that’s got his microphone hovering over you while it’s all happening.”
Katy explained there are “modesty garments”, which are “always kind of funny, weird panty-liner-looking things,” as well as other materials to shield their private parts, including “a lot of tape”.
She explained: “Our intimacy coordinator wanted to make sure I had lots of layers between me and Kristen, so she would tape down one layer of fabric, especially in our first bedroom scene, where you have to see the side of me, so we can’t have underwear on.
“Then, I think there was another layer, and there was literally a cut-out yoga mat that she put over me, and taped that down.”
The former police officer was given a hockey cup to use at times, while Dave was given a “deflated yoga ball to use as a buffer” between them during their sex scene.
She added: “There was some funny little experimenting with protection. It just felt really not sexy and very silly.”
Before the scenes were shot, the actors worked with intimacy co-ordinators to discuss what they felt comfortable with and how it would be choreographed, with no room for improvisation.
Director Rose Glass said: “There are nudity riders and stuff. Basically it’s literally agreed in writing before anyone even gets on set exactly what isn’t going to be shown: from what angle, how much, how little. By the time you get there, it is all quite mechanical.”
Katy added: “We stick with the script for those scenes, because with intimate scenes there’s massive approvals that go into everything.
“If anything changes, we have to go back and sign more paperwork. We just had to approve it all ahead of time.”

Sydney Sweeney ‘so excited’ when fans urged her to make horror movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Sydney Sweeney was “really excited” when ‘Euphoria’ fans clamoured for her to make a horror movie.
The 26-year-old actress went viral in early 2022 with memes of her terrified expressions from the show and she was thrilled by the response because she was already working on her new movie ‘Immaculate’.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I already had the script so I was really excited to see everybody’s reactions to Euphoria season two and everybody being like, ‘A horror film! Give us a horror film!’
“I was like, ‘Just you wait! I have something in store for you.’ I held onto it for a long time.”
The film sees Sydney play an American nun who transfers to an Italian convent that is filled withdark secrets, and director Michael Mohan teased fans won’t be disappointed.
He said: “It absolutely lives up, there’s no doubt in my mind. I am not a confident person — I’m so confident that her fans are going to love it.”
When he was brought on board for the film, the director suggested some script changes which Sydney and her fellow producers agreed to because “the ending was a lot more traditional and [he] had this idea for what the ending could be.”
Michael added: “I think is perhaps the most disturbing ending of any mainstream horror film.”
The ‘White Lotus’ actress originally auditioned for the film a year ago but it was never made, so she brought the project back with Michael – who previously directed her in ‘Everything Sucks’ and ‘The Voyeurs’ – and writer Andrew Lobel.
And the filmmaker was delighted to work with Sydney again.
He said: “This one, Sydney was my boss, she hired me, and I wanted to deliver for her.
“I’m very lucky that we just trust each other, and oftentimes when we’re shooting I’ll do a take and we can look at each other and we know what the other one’s thinking and we just go into the next take knowing that we’re on the same page. That shorthand is wonderful, it makes for a really good working relationship.”

Millie Bobby Brown ‘couldn’t eat too heavily’ during Damsel shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown had to change her diet for her role in ‘Damsel’.
The 20-year-old actress was forced to wear a very restrictive outfit while fighting dragons in the new dark fantasy film, and Millie has admitted that the shoot wasn’t easy at all.
Speaking to Collider, she explained: “You just have to figure out different ways of breathing … you don’t think like that but like, you have to.
“I had to think of different things to eat for lunch. And different ways to breathe. Because you can’t eat anything too heavy, because you have to jump from cave to cave.
“But you also can’t eat too heavy because you have to … you know, maintain a certain shape.”
Millie found it tough to move in her outfit – but she accepts that it was necessary for the role.
The Hollywood star said: “Moving around in that is very difficult, but she’s got an hourglass shape.”
Meanwhile, Millie recently admitted that she “[doesn’t] really like working out”.
The actress shot a series of action scenes for ‘Damsel’, but Millie didn’t really train in preparation for the role.
Millie – who is perhaps best known for starring in ‘Stranger Things’, the hit Netflix show – told ‘Extra’: “I didn’t want to be prepared because, like, my character is going through this, too, so I was just, like, ‘Why would I prepare and be this muscular, you know, great climber when I want to see mistakes?’
“I fall a lot in the film … It was all real … It makes you fall in love and care about the character more.”

Cat Deeley eyed for Britain’s Got Talent guest stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Cat Deeley is being eyed as a guest host for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The new ‘This Morning’ presenter and ‘Dancing On Ice’ host Stephen Mulhern – who previously hosted companion show ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’ and spin-off programme ‘Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician’ – are being eyed by producers to go on stand-by to cover for Ant Mc Partlin on the live shows if his wife Anne-Marie Corbett goes into labour.
The couple are due to welcome their first child into the world in June, so ITV bosses are worried Declan Donnelly could be left holding the fort alone if they don’t draft up a contingency plan.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The timing is causing something of a headache for bosses.
“They are considering whether Dec would present alone if Anne-Marie went into labour or, if time allows, a guest presenter could step in.
“Cat and Stephen, who the lads have worked with in the past, are front-runners.”
Ant recently explained he and Dec – who has Isla, five, and 18-month-old Jack with his wife wife Ali Astall – are keen to spend more time with their families, which led to them “pausing” ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ after 20 series.
He told Fault Magazine: “We do the show and then ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, but on a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing ‘Takeaway’ is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family. We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.
“We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now. You know, like I say, ‘We’re turning 49, and what do we want to do next? What’s the next phase of our career?’ And we’ve got lots of ideas and lots of offers on the table, lots of options of things we can do.
“But it’s working on what we do next and where the next chapter begins. So that’s what we’re gonna do when ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ is out of the way. We’ll sit down, take a bit of time, and reevaluate everything.”

Ross Adams quits Hollyoaks after nine years

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Adams has quit Hollyoaks after nine years.
The actor spent nearly a decade playing Scott Drinkwell in the Channel 4 soap, but he’s now opted to walk away from the show by turning down the chance to sign a new contract and he’s called it “one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make”.
Ross confirmed his departure in a post on Instagram, writing: “Ok … So I have some pretty big news that I want to share with you. After nearly a decade, I have made the decision to leave ‘Hollyoaks’.
“It was always a dream of mine to act in a soap and playing Scott Drinkwell (and his alter-ego Anita Tinkle) made that dream a reality. It’s been a total joy and allowed me to do things I could never have dreamed of; from winning a British Soap Award, to writing an episode last year.”
Ross – who joined ‘Hollyoaks’ in 2015 – went on to insist he made the decision because there are other projects he wants to work on in the future.
He added: “I love the show; the wonderful cast and one of the most dedicated crews in the business – all of whom are having a pretty rough time at the moment. So, deciding not to sign another contract was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.
“Sometimes though, you’ve just got to be brave – and now feels like the right time for me to try some other things that I’ve been super keen to do. I really hope you’ll all come with me for the ride! Big love, Ross x.”
A source added to The Sun newspaper: “He has loved his time on the show but after almost a decade, he wants to take on some new challenges and different roles.”
Ross is following in the footsteps of other castmembers including Jamie Lomas, Haiesha Mistry and Owen Warner who have all announced plans to leave.

Billy Dee Williams told Donald Glover to ‘be charming’ as Lando

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Dee Williams had lunch with his ‘Star Wars’ successor Donald Glover and told him to “be charming” when playing Lando Calrissian.
The 86-year-old actor originated the role of the smooth-talking smuggler in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and reprised the role in follow-up film ‘Return of the Jedi’ while Glover took over the role in spin-off film ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ and will be back as Landro in a new movie based around the character.
Now Billy has revealed the pair sat down together over lunch to discuss Lando, telling Radio Times: “I had a nice little lunch with him. He’s a delightful young man. Extremely talented.
“But I don’t see him … I mean, when it comes to Lando Calrissian there’s only one Lando Calrissian. I created that character.”
When asked what advice he gave to his young successor, Billy replied: “I told him to be charming – two words! That’s all I needed to tell him. That’s all I could think of.”
He added of Donald: “He’s part of a whole new generation. He’ll create whatever he needs to create, to bring appeal to the character. He’s a very talented young lad and very imaginative. I mean, it’s not for me to say what he should do with the character at this stage.
“I took care of the 20th century, now he’s got to take care of the 21st.”
When asked if he would ever make a return to the ‘Star Wars’ universe, Billy replied: “Pay me a lot of money and I’ll sell my soul.”
After Landro returned in 2018’s ‘Solo’, plans were announced for a new Disney Plus series based around the character.
However, last year it was revealed the series is now being developed as a film with Donald and his brother Stephen onboard to write the script but it was held up by the writers and actors strikes that brought Hollywood to a standstill.
Stephen Glover gave some details about the project during an appearance on the ‘Pablo Torre Finds Out’ podcast, saying: “It’s not even a show … the idea right now is to do a movie.
“Right now, because of the strike, it’s kind of like telephone, all of the information.”

Parent Trap star Lisa Ann Walter wants Lindsay Lohan to return for a sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Ann Walter wants to make another ‘Parent Trap’ movie with Lindsay Lohan.
The 60-year-old actress played nanny and housekeeper Chessy in the 1998 rom-com, which sees identical twins Hallie Parker and Annie James (both Lindsay) switch places to meet their mum (Natasha Richardson) and dad (Dennis Quaid) after being separated at birth.
And Lisa Ann is hoping to work with Lindsay again, either on another ‘Parent Trap’ film or on her show ‘Abbott Elementary’.
She told PEOPLE when asked if she would work with the ‘Irish Wish’ star again: “Yes, absolutely.
“I would love to go back for another version of it — or if [Lohan] wants to come on to our show, I’d love that, too.”
Tragically, Lindsay’s onscreen mum, Natasha, passed away after being severely injured in a skiing accident, aged 45, in 2009.
Lindsay recently delighted fans by confirming plans for ‘Freaky Friday 2’.
The ‘Mean Girls’ star revealed a highly anticipated sequel is in the pipeline for the iconic 2003 body swap comedy, and she’s “excited” to reunite with Jamie Lee Curtis on the project.
She told the magazine the movie is “in the process”, adding: “[I’m] just excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it.
“Because we talk almost every other day in general, so I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this.”
She also addressed the news on SiriusXM’s ‘Andy Cohen Live’, noting that “it is” in the works.
However, she insisted: “I don’t want to say too much.”
It sounds like it’s still early days, but a script is reportedly being handled by rising screenwriter Elyse Hollander.
Lindsay made her big-time return to the movie business in 2022, when she starred in the Netflix film ‘Falling for Christmas’.
She also made a cameo appearance in the recent ‘Mean Girls’ musical revival.

Former Blue Peter star Konnie Huq urges BBC to bring back children’s TV afternoons

OHMYGOSSIP — Konnie Huq has pleaded with the BBC to bring back children’s TV in the afternoons on BBC1 – even if only for “an hour a day”.
The former ‘Blue Peter’ star – who has sons, Covey, 12, and Huxley, 10, with ‘Black Mirror’ writer Charlie Brooker – says it’s a shame that children today don’t get to rush home from school to enjoy family screen time.
She is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “Blue Peter was on three times a week on BBC1, in what was still an era of family viewing.
“People would watch things all together at teatime around the telly and that’s been lost.
“That’s why the BBC should bring back children’s programmes on BBC1 after they get home from school. I think it would be a better way to use the children’s programming budget, rather than diluting the budget over a whole two channels.
“Then you could have Blue Peter back, and programmes like Newsround. Just give us an hour a day, that’s all I ask.”
The 48-year-old presenter – who was the longest-serving female presenter of the British children’s television programme ‘Blue Peter’, presenting it from 1997 to 2008 – says having shows available digitally and on demand isn’t the same.
She went on: “We realised the other day that we don’t watch TV anymore. We had our roof done and the aerial had come down, and we didn’t even notice until we needed to watch something in real time on telly years later.
“And when I did watch telly for the first time in ages, it felt like some weird parallel universe, with adverts and stuff. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh’.”
Konnie says her sons found it “really cool” having a mum on ‘Newsround’, which is now broadcast on CBBC once a day, with an eight-minute bulletin at around 7:45am. On Saturday morning, it is broadcast on BBC Two, and is also available for 24 hours on BBC iPlayer and the CBBC Newsround section of the CBBC website.
She said: “They were very uninterested in us for a very long time. Then I went on Newsround, which they had to watch at school, and suddenly I was really cool because all their friends had seen me on the telly. Covey has a friend who loves Pointless, so he was excited when I was on that. But soon they are back to not caring again.”

Love Island star Georgia Steel received ‘death threats’ during her time on the show

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Steel received death threats when she appeared on ‘Love Island’.
The 25-year-old TV star shot to fame when she appeared as a contestant on the hit ITV2 dating series in 2018 but returned for the ‘All Stars’ version earlier this year and explained she has no idea how she “got through” the trolling the first time round but has learned to deal with it better now.
She told OK! Magazine: “The first week when I came out [of the villa], it was really overwhelming. I don’t know how I got through it when I was 19. I think I dealt with it a bit better this time around, because I’d done it before. But there was intense trolling while I was in the villa this time, so I just took some time away from social media and spent time with my family.
“The first thing I asked them was, ‘Do you really feel like I did anything wrong in the villa? Could I have done anything better?’, but they said I didn’t. It feels a bit wrong because the boys would be doing those things, but for a girl to get to know multiple people at the same time, it was so frowned upon.
“I feel that it’s double standards. But I also feel like, as long as my family and friends are fine, and what they considered I did in the villa was OK, that’s all that really matters to me.
“It’s not nice to get horrible comments and death threats.”
The former ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star – who initially coupled up with Sam Bird during her initial appearance on the show – emerged from the ‘All Stars’ series with Toby Aromolaran as her new boyfriend and worried that upon leaving the villa, he would see all the comments online about her but “appreciates” that because they are both in the public eye, he takes her at “face value” rather than instantly believing what is online.
She said: “When I came out, I was thinking, ‘Oh my God, Toby is going to be reading all of these horrible comments – how awful. He’s going to be thinking that he doesn’t know the girl he’s with.’ But, luckily, he understands this industry and he knows to take people at face value, which I appreciate.”

Kelly Brook reveals she has quit acting for good: ‘I was terrible at it!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Brook has quit acting.
The 44-year-old star first came to prominence as a model in the late 1990s before going on to host ‘The Big Breakfast’ with Johnny Vaughan and later switched to acting with roles in TV hits like ‘Hotel Babylon’, ‘Skins’and ‘Midsomer Murders’ as well as a string of cult films but has now claimed that she was “terrible” at it and doesn’t want to do it again.
She told The Daily Star’s HotTV column: “I’m going to leave the acting thing. I don’t like being away from home for too long. I like sleeping in my own bed and I’ve got my dog to look after. I
was a terrible actress. I find it quite exhausting.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant – who in recent years has gone into radio as a co-host of ‘Heart London Drivetime’ and also held presenting jobs on ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Celebrity Juice’ – explained that she is “such a big personality” herself that she struggles to adopt an alter-ego for the purposes of acting because she’d believe it was all real.
She added: “I’m such a big personality so I always find it quite a struggle to be somebody else. They’d tell me I was married to someone and after two weeks
in my mind I believed I was married to them. It was a terrible situation.”
In 2022, Kelly tied the knot with model Jeremy Parisi after almost a decade of dating and she noted that she “couldn’t imagine” leaving him for a period of time to pretend to be the lover of someone else on screen.
She said: “I can’t imagine turning around to Jeremy and saying, ‘I’m off for six weeks and I’m going to pretend to be the lover of Ryan Reynolds, is that OK?’ “I don’t think that would bode well. I don’t think my husband would be down with that. It was definitely a good time of my life. But you have to give up a lot of your life, I can’t just run off and be an actress any more.”

Gary Goldsmith wants to be on BBC reality show following Celebrity Big Brother eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Goldsmith wants to join ‘Dragon’s Den’.
The 58-year-old businessman – who is the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales – was the first contestant evicted from the rebooted series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ earlier this month and now insiders have claimed that he wants to join the likes of Sara Davies and Deborah Meaden as an investor on the BBC reality show.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Gary has a number of successful businesses and he wants to use his new platform to help others.
“He has mooted the idea of becoming one of the Dragons and thinks it could be a great move for him. Gary is an astute businessman and the idea of helping out new entrepreneurs is something he’s keen to dabble in.”
The source added that the TV star – who is thought to have built up a fortune of £30 million following a long career in IT – is just a “normal guy” who has been successful and his stint on the ITV1 reality series showed a “different” side to him.
The insider said: “His time on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ showed a different side to Gary.
“He’s a normal guy who’s done well for himself and he wants to try and give something back.
“Gary has his ‘Points Of View’ podcast where he talks about business but he thinks being on ‘Dragon’s Den’ could be a bigger platform for him.”
Gary had appeared alongside the likes of former ‘X Factor’ judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh as well as ‘This Morning’ legend Fern Britton on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ but insisted following his edition that he “doesn’t consider” himself to be famous at all.
Speaking on ‘Big Brother: Late and Live’, he said: “I’ve had the best time. I went in with one agenda and I’ve achieved it in five days.
“I don’t consider myself to be a celebrity – I just happen to be related to someone who is a big celebrity.”

Michael Keaton had to master balancing act of starring in and directing Knox Goes Away

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton has likened directing and starring in the movie ‘Knox Goes Away’ to a cinematic game of Jenga.
The 72-year-old actor plays a dementia-afflicted assassin in the new film and enjoyed the challenge of having to juggle his responsibilities both in front of and behind the camera on the picture.
Michael told IndieWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast: “It was both daunting and intriguing. And challenging and exciting to see if (I) could pull it off.
“There was no sense of even starting it if one thing’s out of place. If one thing doesn’t work, the movie’s not worth making. It’s not the kind of thing where you can say, ‘That storyline is not interesting, but we can cut it.’ When you edited it, you didn’t have that luxury.”
Keaton’s task was made even more challenging as he only had a 25-day window to shoot the film but he felt this had some benefits as it meant that valuable time wasn’t squandered.
The ‘Beetlejuice’ star said: “There are a lot of pluses to directing yourself.
“You have a head start and a big advantage in terms of time – there’s less discussion because you don’t have to have the discussion with yourself.
“There’s a lot of wasted time on movie sets, and the energy just gets bogged down. You’ve got to keep the pace up so people don’t get bored.”
Michael used his decades of working in the industry to create a positive atmosphere on set although he says it is not down to a meticulous plan.
He explained: “I don’t consciously say, ‘Hey gang, let’s have a groovy time,’ I just hope I set the right tone.
“The people who said this was hands down the best experience making a movie they’ve had… that makes me happier than almost anything.”

‘I’m no longer part of that’: Aaron Pierre has exited Blade

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Pierre is no longer attached to ‘Blade’.
The 29-year-old actor had been set to star alongside Mahershala Ali in the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster but has now confirmed that he has exited the movie.
Speaking to Variety at the NAACP Image Awards on Sunday (17.03.24), Aaron said: “Early on, there were conversations. As the project evolved, I’m no longer part of that – attached.”
Aaron is the latest star to depart the film – which has been stuck in development purgatory since it was first announced in 2019 – after Bassam Tariq was replaced as director by Yann Demange.
At least five writers are said to have been attached to the project with Michael Green the latest to come on board.
Only Ali has been cast as the titular vampire slayer although he assured fans last year that he was “encouraged” by the way the project was developing.
The Oscar-winning actor told Entertainment Weekly: “We’re working on it. That’s the best I could tell you.
“I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. We’ll be back at it relatively soon.
“I’m sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that. So that’s the extent of what I can tell you.”
Although he won’t be in ‘Blade’, Pierre is still looking forward to several projects that he is working on.
He said: “There are a number of things that I’m tremendously excited about. ‘Rebel Ridge’ with Jeremy Saulnier. And ‘The Lion King’ prequel with Barry Jenkins.
“All things that are coming out this year that myself and the team are deeply excited about and can’t wait to share with the world – and have people engage with it and experience it in whatever way they feel fit.”
