Karen Gillan ‘didn’t stop crying for days’ after watching The Life of Chuck

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan “didn’t stop crying for days” after watching an unfinished version of ‘The Life of Chuck’.
The 36-year-old actress features in Mike Flanagan’s upcoming movie based on the Stephen King novella and explained that the story – about a man reliving his life in reverse order – tugged at her heartstrings.
Speaking to Collider, Karen said: “I saw a not-finished version of it, and literally didn’t stop crying for days. In a good way.
“It’s a cathartic experience. It’s someone dealing with the end of their life, and it’s told in a very imaginative way, and it’s just beautiful. It’s a celebration of life, I suppose. I think we could all do with a bit of that.”
It is the second time that the former ‘Doctor Who’ star has collaborated with Flanagan after she appeared in his 2013 horror film ‘Oculus’ and she had glowing praise for the director.
Comparing her experiences with the filmmaker, Karen said: “You know what, it didn’t feel that different. I was going into it like, ‘OK, how has he changed? He’s done so many movies.’ (It) felt the same! We were back in Alabama like we’d never left.
“If there was any difference, I suppose he just felt more… I mean, he was relaxed on the first one, but maybe he wasn’t, he was just pretending to be relaxed.
“But no, he was just the same Mike Flanagan, and brilliant and the movie is absolutely incredible.”

Paul O’Grady’s daughter bought his tights during Lily Savage success

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul O’Grady’s daughter used to buy tights for the comedian so he could adopt his Lily Savage drag persona.
Sharyn Mousley lived with the late TV star – who died in March 2023, aged 67 – in London during the 90s, and she still has vivid memories of helping Paul with his burgeoning TV career.
Sharyn, 48 – who is the only child from Paul’s brief relationship with Diane Jansen – says on upcoming ITV1 documentary ‘The Life and Death of Lily Savage’: “I remember going to the shop and getting tights for him. The guy would say ‘You coming in for your dad’s tights?’ I’d be like yeah, you got a tan and black, it was just that was just normal.
“He used to leave me in a flat and go and work. I used to just love looking at his make-up. I remember walking around the flat with his thigh-high boots on, thinking I was all grown up, I was about 13!”
Paul’s unusual career path raised eyebrows among some of Sharyn’s friends – but she didn’t “know any difference”.
She explains: “People used to say to me, isn’t it strange? That Paul O’Grady, Lily Savage, is your dad and I don’t know any difference.
“Mum and dad met In the early 70s. They were just friends and then boom, Sharyn was born.
“I think he didn’t know he was gay or straight when I was born. So he likes to just keep everything separate. Went to London, he’s having a career.”
Meanwhile, Julian Clary has praised Paul for standing up for LGBTQ rights.
The 64-year-old comedy star said: “I didn’t know anyone else like Paul. I mean, obviously very, very funny and unique, but did actually really care about injustices in the world and did a lot of very kind things that no one knows about.”

Bobby Davro reunites with Brian Conley after health scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Davro has reconciled his differences with Brian Conley after suffering a stroke.
The 65-year-old actor has reconnected with a number of his showbiz pals, including Brian, after he suffered a health scare following a gig at Coulsdon Comedy Club in south London in January.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Bobby shared: “It was a wake-up call, a warning, really, because my blood pressure was through the roof.
“I never had myself down for a stroke; heart attack or erectile dysfunction, perhaps, but never a stroke because I always felt quite healthy.
“But what really got me through was all the love.
“It’s really put life into perspective because one of the best things to come of it has been hearing from people who haven’t been in touch.
“It makes you realise they do care.”
Bobby was particularly shocked to receive a phone call from Brian, because the comedy duo fell out “a long time ago”.
He explained: “Brian Conley and I were best buddies for many years but we had a bit of a falling out a long time ago.
“It was over professional differences but it was quite painful at the time.
“It’s been 15 years since we were both doing a TV show together, for ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’, so when he rang to ask how I was it was really touching.
“We all have our battles but hearing from him was a real tonic getting through this.
“Life is all about forgiveness.”
Bobby also received support from some of his other showbiz pals.
He said: “Bradley Walsh also called me up to wish me well. I think he was on a yacht somewhere in the Seychelles and there I was in hospital in Epsom.
“My dearest Les Dennis also came and stayed over for a night and I cooked up steaks. I’m so blessed. That did me the world of good.”

‘Everything is perfect apart from my love life! James Argent reveals Valentine’s Day ‘struggle’

OHMYGOSSIP — James ‘Arg’ Argent “really struggled” on Valentine’s Day this year, because he doesn’t have a girlfriend.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star, 36, split from Stella Turian in November after a year-long romance, and despite being in a “really good place”, Arg has admitted his love life is one thing he wants to change for the better.
He told the ‘My Dirty Laundry’ podcast: “I’m in a really good place. Everything in my life is perfect, apart from my love life.
“It would be nice if that would change.
“I’ll be completely honest, this year I really struggled on Valentine’s Day. I remember, I woke up and thought, I am not going to look at social media.
“It’s not that I’m heartbroken or upset, but just because I knew it’s not going to make me feel great because I didn’t have a Valentine, I don’t have a girlfriend.
“But, I couldn’t help it. There was times where I’d just have a little glance and all you would see was couples. Everyone’s madly in love. Everyone’s happy.
“Everyone’s out on dates. There’s flowers, there’s balloons, there’s chocolates, there’s date nights or trips or happily married couples – and yeah, it did start to affect me a little bit.”
But James admitted he was “happy again” and “fine” after a good night’s sleep.
He added: “If you get a good night’s sleep, the next day is always a new day and it wasn’t that bad.
“For some reason, Valentine’s Day this year, I didn’t think it would even bother me, but it wasn’t a great experience.”
In January, Arg admitted he is hoping to find his “future wife” this year.
During an appearance on ‘Lorraine’, during which host Lorraine Kelly asked if he was ready to get back on the dating scene, he said: “I’m not looking for it – if it happens, sure. I’m not chasing it.”
Speaking about his aspirations for 2024, he said: “My number-one goal is to finally, after 36 years of my life, pass my driving test and theory test.
“That is going to be my goal and I really believe I can do it. I’ve got my weight off – I’m starting to tone up now – and I’ve been clean and sober coming up for two years.
“The Arg Band is absolutely flying … I’m living my dreams. But two other things I really want to achieve are driving and potentially meeting my future wife, the mother of my kids.”

Steven Moffatt returns to ‘Doctor Who’ with Alfred Hitchcock-style adventure!

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffatt has returned to ‘Doctor Who’ to write an Alfred Hitchcock-style adventure for the Timelord.
The former showrunner, 62, who first wrote for the show when it was revived by Russell T Davies in 2005, has penned an episode for the new series due to air as part of Ncuti Gatwa’s first season as the Fifteenth Doctor.
Steven said about his return to the ‘Whoniverse’ after telling porkies to keep his involvement secret until the new run was announced: “Yes, okay, fair enough – apologies to everyone I’ve very slightly misled – I am in fact writing an episode of the series of ‘Doctor Who’.
“Exactly like I said I never would. What can I tell you?
“There was begging, there was pleading but finally Russell agreed to let me have another go – so long as I got out of his garden.
“Working with old friends and a brand new Doctor I couldn’t be happier.
“Sorry I was a bit reticent on the subject for so long. It was all part of an elaborate plan that would have delighted millions but at the last minute I forgot what it was.”
The new ‘Doctor Who’ shows will simultaneously premiere across BBC iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ in May.
Directing the Doctor’s new adventures is BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Julie-Anne Robinson.
She has previously directed blockbuster TV shows including ‘Bridgerton’, ‘Orange is the New Black’ and ‘Scandal’.
Julie said: “It was a tremendous honour to direct episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ for the BBC and Disney+.
“This beloved franchise is 60 years old and still going strong.
“It is part of our collective memory as Brits. I’ve always admired Russell T Davies and Ncuti Gatwa is an unbelievably talented actor who has stepped into the role of the Fifteenth Doctor effortlessly, alongside the equally talented Millie Gibson (who plays his sidekick Ruby Sunday.)
“Steven Moffatt gave me an intense challenge as a director. I asked him for a keyword to describe the overall tone of the episode he said: ‘Hitchcock’.
“I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks. I’m grateful to Bad Wolf, the BBC and Disney+. It was an incredible experience.”
After joining ‘Doctor Who’ in 2005, Steven led the show during the eras featuring Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi as the intergalactic Tardis traveller.
The BBC said about his comeback: “Steven is known for penning some of the most praised episodes in the shows history as well as creating one of the most terrifying and iconic monsters, the Weeping Angels.”
Outside of Doctor Who, Steven has been celebrated for co-writing and co-creating the multi-award winning series ‘Sherlock’.
The first two new episodes of the next ‘Doctor Who’ series will premiere at midnight on 11 May on BBC iPlayer, and then on BBC One later that day. Episodes will drop on BBC iPlayer followed by a primetime slot on BBC One each week following the first showing.
Outside the UK, ‘Doctor Who’ begins streaming on 10 May at 7pm on Disney+ where available, giving audiences a simultaneous global launch of the new season.

Louis Walsh ends feud with ‘smug’ Cheryl

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Walsh has ended his lengthy feud with pop star Cheryl declaring she’s “not perfect, but she’s nice”.
The 71-year-old music manager fell out with Cheryl when he was managing her band Girls Aloud and they had a tense relationship when they later worked together on Simon Cowell’s reality TV singing show ‘The X Factor’ with the pair often trading insults – but Louis has admitted he actually quite likes Cheryl even though she was quite “smug” during their time on the series.
Louis made the confession during an episode of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, saying of ‘The X Factor’: “We [the judges] took it so … serious, and we all wanted to win.
“We were pretending it was about the show, we all wanted to win. And we were all trying to upstage each other with songs and performance …
“I really have to breathe for this, because we took it so seriously. We were in the final and it was [Cheryl’s act] Alexandra Burke and [Louis’ act] JLS so I thought I’m gonna get Westlife, we’ll do ‘Flying without wings’ and divvy it up between them, dah de dah de dah.
“Simon loved Cheryl, what … did he do? He got her Beyonce, it was all over … Cheryl was, she was kinda smug with me, I wanted to beat her as well.”
However, he went on to admit he’s actually quite fond of Cheryl, adding: “She’s not perfect but she’s nice.
“She’s a good girl, she’s good. She’s had a lot of negativity but I like her. She doesn’t know that, I like her more than she likes me.”
Louis previously admitted the pair no long speak. In an interview with Ladbrokes Live last year, he said: “I don’t have a relationship with Cheryl, I don’t bother.
“I haven’t seen her, I haven’t heard from her. We didn’t get on great on ‘X Factor’ because she didn’t get the fun of it. She didn’t understand that side of it.”

Anne Hathaway insists Devil Wears Prada fans ‘don’t need to worry’ about sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway has insisted ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ fans “don’t need to worry about a sequel”.
The 41-year-old star reunited with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt – her co-stars from the 2006 fashion blockbuster – on stage at the SAG Awards this week, but she has insisted there are no plans for a follow-up despite author Lauren Weisberger penning ‘Revenge Wears Prada’.
She told E! News: “I don’t think a continuation of that story is probably ever gonna happen.”
She joked the trio will “continue to give out awards to other people” so fans can still expect more reunions, but rubbished the idea of a sequel.
The actress admitted she “would love” to see the trio reunite with diretor David Frankel, but she wants the original movie to stand alone.
She said: “The truth of the matter is—with any film—all we can do is make it.
“The reason that movie felt so special was that we were a team and we did that work, but really it’s the love that everybody pours to it.”
She added: “Let’s just keep the thing that we all agree with love.”
Hathaway played aspiring journalist Andy Sachs in the movie, who is hired as a personal assistant to fashion magazine editor Miranda Priesly (Streep).
However, Hollywood veteran Streep nearly lost her role in the movie over fears she wasn’t “funny” enough.
Speaking on the ‘Hollywood Gold’ podcast, producer Wendy Finerman previously said: “Meryl, people thought we were crazy. I mean, I had people call me up and say, ‘Are you out of your mind? She’s never been funny a day in her life.’
“But this was clearly a different kind of world for her, and I think that that was part of the fun of the unexpected.”
In the past, Streep has admitted she was “so depressed” during filming because she adopted an acting style which meant she kept an icy relationship with her co-stars, and afterwards she vowed never to go “Method” again.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “It was horrible! I was [miserable] in my trailer. I could hear them all rocking and laughing.
“I was so depressed! I said: ‘Well, it’s the price you pay for being boss!’ That’s the last time I ever attempted a Method thing!”

Lukas Gage says ‘whole crew was terrified’ filming Smile 2

OHMYGOSSIP — The “whole crew was terrified” during filming on ‘Smile 2’, according to the movie’s star Lukas Gage.
Gage previously admitted he was left feeling nauseous when working on the horror sequel’s gory scenes and he’s now claimed ‘Smile 2’ is so scary, it left the whole cast and crew feeling unnerved.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I didn’t puke, I dry-heaved. I was really shocked how intense it is on the day. You just think: ‘Oh, it’s acting, it’s gonna be fine,’ but that movie is so scary.
“The whole crew was terrified. That smile itself is just so creepy and then you throw the most gory scenes on top of it, I just, yeah, I have a weak stomach too. I’m a wimp.”
He added of the film: “I don’t say this about a lot of things that I do, ’cause I’m the biggest critic ever – I am so proud of it, and I think it’s so scary, and I think [director] Parker Finn did it again, like, he just takes it to the next level and we have some really cool cameos happening in this movie.”
He previously opened up about ‘Smile 2’ during an appearance on the ‘The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham’, he explained: “If you loved the first movie, you’re going to love this one… It’s so terrifying.
“It was the first time I’ve ever been on a set where I was genuinely afraid, and I actually got sick to my stomach in one take … It was so gory and so disgusting.”
He added: “It’s legitimately that scary. I’m not even just lying. I’ve never been on something that truly terrified me.”

Celebrity Big Brother reveals one more eviction twist before final

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ will evict one more housemate before this week’s final.
The ITV reality show has confirmed one more twist for the remaining stars, despite Colson Smith, Louis Walsh, Bradley Riches, David Potts, Fern Britton and Nikita Kuzmin all thinking they have made it to Friday’s (22.3.24) episode.
However, host Will Best – who fronts the show with AJ Odudu – has confirmed that after Tuesday’s double eviction, one more star is set to leave before the final.
Voting is now open with fans able to have their say regarding the winner, but it will freeze from 6pm tonight.
Then, the housemate with the lowest share of the public vote will face a backdoor eviction, which viewers will be shown later.
Louis is still immune from the vote after Fern was told to place a snake on a housemate’s pillow, believing it would automatically evict them.
However, there was another twist as it emerged the housemate receiving the snake actually received a guaranteed spot on the final.
The latest development comes after Marisha Wallace and Zeze Millz were voted off the show and had to leave.
Last Friday (15.03.24) also saw a double eviction, as Levi Roots and Ekin-Su Culculoglu both left the house.
Earlier this week, Lorraine Kelly has had to clarify comments after suggesting Ekin-Su had pulled out of a live interview, with ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Susanna Reid telling the ‘Lorraine’ host she thought the ‘Love Island’ star would be joining her.
Lorraine replied: “So did I… but alas no. I don’t know, we’re trying to find out. She was due to come in.”
However, the show later said in a statement: “We’d like to clear up a misunderstanding. Ekin-Su did not pull out of the show or throw the programme into chaos this morning.
“We’d love to welcome her back on the programme soon. We apologise for the confusion.”

Meanwhile, the model and influencer met her boyfriend Adam Peaty – who is known for winning the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Olympics – when he was also competing in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ alongside her sister and the pair struck up a relationship over the summer of last year.

However, the TikTok star then gave an update on how her dad, 57,is coping with all the sleepless nights that come with a new baby but insisted that he is doing “absolutely fine” and is used to going without sleep anyway because of his hectic work schedule as she admitted she felt “very lucky” to be part of the family.
She said: “Oh my goodness he’s absolutely fine. That man doesn’t sleep anyway, he’s always working, so it’s fun he has a little sidekick to work with him. It’s incredible. I feel very lucky and super blessed.”

Passenger star David Threlfall ‘had no idea’ what the script meant

OHMYGOSSIP — David Threlfall struggled to understand the ‘Passenger’ script.
The 70-year-old actor – who previously played Frank Gallagher on ‘Shameless’ – plays the boss of a fracking site in ITV’s new six part series, which focuses on a small village rocked after a woman goes missing before mysteriously reappearing.
Reflecting on the show’s twists and turns, David told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “This is a really good, completely indecipherable script.
“Of anything I’ve ever done, I had no idea what I was involved with, but I knew I was on a good ship sailing somewhere with a really great bunch of people.
“To commission this, there must be something here I just can’t see… it just pulls you in. It had something.”
David admitted he has become a huge fan of first time writer Andrew Buchan – known for his roles in ‘Broadchurch’, ‘The Fixer’ and ‘Party Animals’ – and even compared the show to Netflix mega hit ‘Stranger Things.
He added: “It stands there with ‘Stranger Things’.
“I can only bow to Andrew, to think what kind of medication he was on when he wrote it!”
The thriller was first announced two years ago, with ITV expecting big things.
The broadcaster’s head of drama Polly Hill commented at the time: “Andrew Buchan’s brilliant scripts take us into a tight-knit Northern community where the Detective Sergeant Riya Ajunwa, an outsider to the town, has to investigate the strange happenings that are genuinely monstrous.
“I’m excited to be making this and working once again with Jane Featherstone and Sister on a drama that can continually surprise an audience in this very original story.”
And Diederick Santer, BritBox International’s chief creative office, added: “When I first read Andy’s script, I felt a real shiver of suspense and mystery that I can’t wait to share with our audiences all over the world.”

Hairy Bikers team call out cruel scammers exploiting Dave Myers’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — The Hairy Bikers team has warned fans about cruel scammers using Dave Myers’ death to make money.
The TV chef – who revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer two years ago – tragically died last month aged 66, and now some people have set up fake fundraising pages impersonating his friend and co-star Si King.
A post on the official Hairy Bikers Facebook page reads: “Many of you have been emailing us pointing out that fake profiles are appearing on Facebook and Instagram, the latest one is of Si King.
“Our Team has been desperately trying to get Meta, the owners of Facebook and Instagram to remove these fake profiles for the past 2 weeks without success.”
The team included a screenshot of one of the fake pages, noting that it doesn’t feature a blue kick next to Si’s name.
They continued: “There are instances where a ‘post’ has a link to a Bitcoin scam asking for donations to a cancer charity in the name of Dave Myers.
“Rest assured, this is not genuine in any shape or form.”
The Hairy Bikers team said 1,000 people have “fallen for the fake profile”, and urged them to unfollow the page and report it to Facebook.
They continued: “To add to the confusion, the people behind the scam are copying posts that we are genuinely uploading to our own page.
“If you all join in and report the fake, Facebook may wake up when they see some 600,000+ reports in their inbox. #MarkZuckerberg take note
“We gratefully appreciate your help and kindness. Help us drop this. It’s not in the name of the Hairy Bikers. Shocking Meta’s lack of action.”
Bearded celebrity cooks Dave and Si were well known as the Hairy Bikers.
They have presented numerous motorcycling travelogues together, in which they would travel around the UK, and further afield, on motorbikes and stop off to sample some local delicacies, as well as cook up some tasty treats themselves.
Si announced Dave’s passing last month as he wrote on X: “Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.
“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home.
“All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.
“Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.”
