Diana Rigg and Terence Stamp join Last Night in Soho

OHMYGOSSIP — Diana Rigg and Terence Stamp have joined ‘Last Night in Soho’.
‘Game of Thrones’ star Rigg, 80, has joined Edgar Wright’s forthcoming psychological horror thriller alongside ‘Superman’ actor Terence, also 80, although details of both characters are being kept tightly under wraps.
The upcoming movie is based on a script the filmmaker has co-written with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and will reportedly star Anya-Taylor Joy and Matt Smith in lead roles while Rita Tushingham, Michael Ajao and Synnøve Karlsen have also joined the cast.
Wright – who is best known for his work on the ‘Cornetto trilogy’ – recently confirmed that the movie has started filming.
The ‘Shaun of the Dead’ filmmaker has shared a shot of the film’s clapperboard which revealed that Chung-hoon Chung will act as cinematographer on the movie.
The acclaimed director, 45, previously revealed that his new project will star a female lead, although specific details about the movie remain a closely-guarded secret.
Wright – who is also working on a sequel to ‘Baby Driver’ – explained: “I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years.
“With ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘Shaun of the Dead’ you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
Meanwhile, actress Lily James – who has been in a relationship with Smith since 2014 – has heaped praise on Wright in the past, revealing she loved working with him on ‘Baby Driver’.
The 30-year-old actress – who starred as Debora, a young waitress and Baby’s love interest, in the 2017 movie – said: “I think it’s credit to Edgar Wright – his script is really beautifully written and constructed and he’s really clever.
“He’s such an amazing storyteller and he does it through images and shots, so he makes us care for Baby and then Debora and then puts them together.”

Kevin Feige explains why Spider-Man wraps up phase three of MCU

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Feige says ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is the final movie of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to Tony Stark’s death.
The Marvel Studios President revealed that after working “for so many years” on the ‘Infinity Saga’ – which culminated in this year’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ wrapping up 22 different films and 11 franchises – they felt the upcoming sequel should be the final movie in the third chapter of the MCU.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, he said: “We’ve been working for many years on ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, those were the films that were culminating the entire ‘Infinity Saga’ of the MCU.
“And as we were working on ‘Endgame’, we realised that the true end of the entire ‘Infinity Saga’, the final film of Phase 3, had to be ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ because – spoiler – we lose Tony Stark at the end of ‘Endgame.’ ”
Feige, 46, explained that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man had such a “special relationship” with Robert Downey, Jr.’s Tony Stark – aka Iron Man – that he felt it was necessary for fans to see “where his journey went” following Stark’s death at the end of the last film.
He added: “The relationship between Peter Parker and Tony Stark is so special over the five films that Tom Holland has portrayed Spider-Man in the MCU, that we needed to see where his journey went.
“And see how does Spider-Man step out of the shadow of his mentor Tony Stark and become the true hero that he was always meant to be.
“It’s for that reason that ‘Endgame’ and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ are essentially two pieces of the same story, and it’s not over yet until ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home.’ ”

Paddy McGuinness undergoes vasectomy

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness has undergone a vasectomy.
The 45-year-old TV presenter – who has two-year-old daughter Felicity and five-year-old twins Leo and Penelope with 31-year-old wife Christine – took to Instagram to tell fans he has undergone the procedure, which ensures he won’t have any more children, on Tuesday (25.06.19), and assured his supporters the operation was “a doddle”.
Speaking in the video, he said: “Well, patient McGuinness is home.
“I’ve gotta tell you, gentleman if you’re thinking of having a vasectomy and you’re a bit reluctant as I was, the initial anaesthetic, what they give you in the old pippins … I’m not going to lie, that’s tender, oh that’s tender.
“That made my eyes water, but after that, honestly, it’s a doddle.
“I’m currently resting up at home with a towel full of ice on the nickedy nackedy noos. Just icing them up, but I’ll keep you up to speed.”
A vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilisation or permanent contraception, to prevent pregnancy, and is usually carried out under local anaesthetic.
The ‘Top Gear’ host captioned the video: “Home now after having the auld snippy snappy snoo. Currently resting up with a bag of ice on my nadgers. #vasectomy #testicletuesday (sic)”
This is the ‘Take Me Out’ star’s second stint in hospital recently, after he went under the knife last month to fix his “dodgy right shoulder”.
Sharing a snap of himself in the hospital, he wrote: “Finally getting my dodgy right shoulder sorted!!! I’m having a Arthroscopic Subacromial Decompression + ACJ Resection, Arthroscopic Debridement and Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Debridement! Got to be worth a few points in Scrabble that? (sic)”

Love Island’s Tom Walker slams ‘cringe’ partner Maura Higgins

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Tom Walker thinks his partner Maura Higgins is “a bit too loud and attention seeking.”
The 28-year-old model was running around the villa yesterday (24.06.19) for the Irish beauty and even agreed to brush her hair for her in an attempt to make it up to her after his throwaway comment during a conversation with the lads touched a nerve ahead of their night in the Hideaway.
But it seems he’s had a drastic change of heart as in Tuesday (25.06.19) night’s episode – just hours after he spilled his heart out in a speech when he chose to partner up with her – he told his friend Jordan Hames that he feels “cringe” when he’s around Maura because she’s “OTT.”
He whispered: “I’m enjoying really getting to know Maura. Like the thing with me and Maura is, between me and you, she don’t necessarily tick all my boxes. Fitness ain’t there. She’s a bit too OTT and sh*t, she’s a bit loud and attention seeking and that’s not me.
“And she makes me cringe a little bit. But, on the other side, I enjoy the banter, I enjoy her energy and I like chatting to her. You never know.”
And Tom and Maura aren’t the only ones having trouble in paradise as Molly-Mae Hague flipped out when her partner Tommy Fury took Curtis Pritchard off to spill the beans on what they’ve done in the bedroom following speculation that they’d been up to no good between the sheets at night.
Curtis – who is partnered up with Amy Hart – branded Molly-Mae “controlling” after she told Tommy to keep his mouth shut about what “bits” they’ve done in the bedroom.
Despite fans hoping that Tommy – who is the brother of boxing legend Tyson Fury – would reveal all, him and Curtis ended up having a heart-to-heart about their “brotherhood” instead.

Charles Barkley ‘doesn’t care’ about Space Jam 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Charles Barkley “doesn’t care” about ‘Space Jam 2’.
The 56-year-old basketball legend starred alongside the likes of Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing in the 1996 original and has once again expressed his disinterest in the sequel even now Ryan Coogler is producing the movie.
Asked if he has changed his mind since the ‘Black Panther’ director signed up for the job, Barkley told ET Online: “Not at all.
“Well, listen, I don’t care. ‘Space Jam 1’ was amazing. We don’t need 2.”
The retired sportsman had told the publication last year: “‘Space Jam 1′ was a classic.
“I don’t like when people try to imitate something that was already good.”
The new movie is slated for release on July 16, 2021, and is being produced under LeBron James’ SpringHill Entertainment.
The NBA superstar will also take over from Jordan in the lead role.
Terence Nance is on board to direct and production is said to star later this year.
Speaking of the sequel when the film was announced, LeBron, 34, said: “The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie, it’s so much bigger.
“I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people [with Black Panther].”
The original ‘Space Jam’ saw Jordan team up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the ‘Looney Tunes’ cartoon characters to play a game of basketball in order to save them from enslavement at an alien amusement park.
LeBron previously appeared in the 2015 comedy ‘Trainwreck’, and Amy Schumer – who wrote the movie – revealed the unusual reason she decided to cast him in the film.
Amy – who also starred alongside Bill Hader in the hit film – confessed: “I wrote him in (the movie) because he’s the only basketball player I’ve ever heard of.”

Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman set for The Prom

OHMYGOSSIP — Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman have joined the cast of ‘The Prom’.
The upcoming Netflix movie fro Bryan Murphy sees the ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘Glee’ showrunner at the helm of the streaming platform’s adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical.
As reported by Variety, Streep and Kidman have joined an all star ensemble for the movie, with James Corden, Awkwafina, Ariana Grande, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells all on board.
The story follows a lesbian student from a fictional conservative town called Edgewater, who wants to bring her girlfriend to the school dance.
When the couple are banned from attending, which leads to a cast of Broadway luminaries teaming up in a battle against injustice.
The stage version has already received six Tony Award nominations – including one for best musical – and its current Broadway run is set to end on August 11.
The musical is an original concept by Jack Viertel, and the movie adaptation is the first to be announced under Murphy’s Netflix deal.
Last February, he teamed up with the streaming platform for a $300 million deal after previously working with 20th Century Fox.
Murphy is also plotting an adaptation of ‘The Boys in the Band’ for Netflix, which would see the Broadway revival cast – including the likes of Jim Parson, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer and Andew Rannells – reprising their roles for the film.
Meanwhile, fans will be excited for the ninth series of ‘American Horror Story’ later this year, with the next run of the popular anthology show set to take on a 1980s slasher horror theme.

Kerry Katona ‘obsessed’ with Paul Chuckle and Adam Woodyatt’s holiday

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona is “obsessed” with Paul Chuckle and Adam Woodyatt’s holiday.
The pair jetted off to Estaponda on the Costa del Sol with their wives and friends recently for a sunny summer break, and the 38-year-old star enjoyed seeing their unexpected shenanigans on social media.
In her column for new! magazine, she said: “I’m obsessed by the fact Paul Chuckle of the ‘Chuckle Brothers’ and Adam Woodyatt’, who plays Ian Beale in ‘EastEnders’, went on holiday together to Spain.
“Who knew they were even friends? It just goes to show you never know what goes on in a celebrity’s private life.”
Kerry would have loved to have heard some of their holiday chats, and the surprise friendship has given her ideas for more crossovers.
She added: “I’d love to be a fly on the wall during that holiday, I bet there’d be a few stories to tell!
“Whatever next – Dot Cotton and The Krankies livin’ it large in Marbs together?!”
Adam tweeted about the holiday earlier last week, and admitted it got “messy”.
Paul – who shared a lot of snaps from their getaway – posted a numerous beer glass emojis as he replied: “Certainly was, what I can remember of it”
TV comedy star Paul recently admitted he’s relied on laughter to get him through the heartbreak of losing his brother Barry to cancer in 2018.
He said: “It really hurts. I still miss Barry terribly. I’ve had a lot of loss in my life. I’ve lost my mum and dad, my only sister, and in 1974 I lost my three-month-old daughter.
“You don’t get used to it. But you can’t hold it in. You’ve got to let it out of you. You’ve got to cry. You’ve got to talk to people. And, later on, you have to have a laugh and a joke and remember the good times.”

Kyle Pryor hints Hollyoaks character will ‘wreak more chaos’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kyle Pryor has hinted his evil ‘Hollyoaks’ character has the potential to “wreak more chaos on the village”.
The 30-year-old star’s alter-ego Laurie Shelby was arrested for attempting to rape Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) on last night’s (25.06.19) E4 episode, after ending up in hospital following a balcony fall at Hollyoaks High.
But Kyle has hinted this is not necessarily the end of Laurie’s reign of terror, which has also seen him sexually assault his wife Sinead Shelby (Stephanie Davis).
He said: “Laurie is like a cockroach! He’s very resilient and has the potential to come back from this and wreak more chaos on the village.
“But the good thing is that the women in the village know that they can get one over on him – so the cards aren’t all stacked in his favour anymore.”
Kyle was initially keen to take on the fall stunt himself, but was eventually “happy to step aside” and let the stuntman drop from the balcony.
He added to Digital Spy: “These were really exciting episodes to film, with very high stakes. It’s always quite cool when you’ve got a stunt involved. A great stuntman came in and did that fall for me – and made me look good.
“It was one of those moments where I felt like I wanted to do it myself, but the stuntman did a great job and made me look good, so I was happy to step aside and just think about my next scene!
“We shoot a lot of content, so there’s always stuff to be working on and thinking about. On this occasion, I was quite happy to step aside and let the professional take over. He did a fantastic job and it looked great.”
Stephanie recently admitted she needed counselling while filming her character’s sexual assault storyline.
She said: “We all went into a big meeting and I think because of everything that I’ve been through, I found that day hard.
“They came in, I was there, and everyone who was working on the storyline was in the room.
“I don’t know if any of them had been through anything like that before, but I spoke to the charity afterwards and had a good chat with them.
“They were really good, and sensed how difficult I was find-ing it all.
“They asked if I needed counselling while filming it, and I said yes. It really helped me.”

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins to get whole series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins For Stand Up To Cancer’ is reportedly set to become a “whole series”.
The charity special saw 12 stars pushed to their limits on a gruelling seven-day slog led by chief instructor and former soldier Ant Middleton in front of an impressive 1.7 million viewers, and now bosses at Channel 4 are said to be offering up a large budget to get “massive names” to take part.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Channel 4 were really pleased with the reception the celeb charity version got, and now producers have got big budgets in place for a whole series.
“They are keen to attract massive names to take part … they really want to avoid it being saturated with the usual reality names.”
This year saw the likes of Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow, Olympian Victoria Pendleton, Andrea McClean and sportsman Ben Foden live together at an ex-military base up in the Chilean Andes.
The first challenge the group faced was a backwards dive out of a helicopter.
Andrea admitted she “struggled emotionally” on the programme.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who has previously opened up about battling anxiety – broke down in tears on the show when she relived a terrifying memory from her past that she refuses to speak about, and the star admitted that it made her realise she needs to “confront” her memories and face them head on.
She said: “While taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, I struggled emotionally when [lead instructor] Ant Middleton shouted at me, as it brought back dark times. Memories I thought I’d pushed so far down into my head that they weren’t there anymore.
“But I realised that putting memories into a box and thinking ‘I’m not going to look at that anymore’ doesn’t mean they’re gone. I’ve realised I’ve got to confront them and address a few things. I haven’t decided what the best course of action is yet, but possibly therapy. I don’t want to break down again like I did on there.”

Yewande Biala doesn’t regret going on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Yewande Biala has no regrets over her ‘Love Island’ stint.
The 23-year-old scientist was axed from the villa this week after her partner Danny Williams chose to pair up with newcomer Arabella Chi during a shock recoupling that left Yewande single, and therefore booted from the show.
However, she told Digital Spy: “I think it was the right decision for me to go on ‘Love Island’.
“What better way to break down your walls than to go on a love show that forces you to open up a little bit more. And that’s what I did, [but] it did take me a while…”
Although Yewande is glad she went on the ITV2 dating show, she admitted Danny had “hurt” her by choosing Arabella over her.
She said: “Yeah [Danny broke my heart] a little bit. Obviously it was hard for me to open up and eventually I did open up and I fully trusted him.
“Even when Arabella came in he said he wasn’t going to have his head turned, or he wasn’t even going speak to her or look at her… It really did hurt, and it did break me just a little bit.”
Meanwhile, Yewande also dismissed the notion of “race issues” on the show after allegations of an apparent lack of air time.
She argued: “The race issues never crossed my mind at all. I don’t think that there is a race issue on the show at all.
“I was fortunate enough to find someone and connect with someone, it was just unfortunate that he kind of broke my heart. And that’s why I was dumped.”
Yewande is set to appear on spin-off show ‘Love Island: Aftersun’ on Sunday (30.06.19) at 10pm on ITV2.

Ben Chilwell’s ex Joanna Chimonides ‘to join Love Island’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Chilwell’s ex Joanna Chimonides is being lined up to join ‘Love Island’.
The England footballer’s former flame is expected to be one of 12 new contestants on the ITV2 dating show, after she and the Leicester City left-back split at the end of last summer.
According to The Sun Online, Joanna previously declined the chance to join the programme but is now said to have accepted an offer.
The brunette beauty is expected to join the show as part of the Casa Amor plot twist, which will this year see the current crop of girls head to the second villa, where they will be joined by six new lads.
And the current guys will be joined in the main villa by six new female arrivals.
In previous times, the lads have headed over to Casa Amor to see if their resolve could be tested by the introduction of six new girls, but show bosses are expected to switch it around this year.
A source recently said: “In an epic plot twist the female Islanders will head to Casa Amor while the boys stay put at the main villa.
“The finer details are still being discussed with producers but the plan is for all the Islanders to leave the main villa in four Land Rovers.
“The girls will travel to Casa Amor but the boys will be redirected back to the villa.”
Casa Amor caused controversy on the show last year when Jack Fincham headed over to the second villa with the rest of the lads only to be greeted by six ladies, including his ex Ellie Jones.
Back in the main villa, Jack’s then-girlfriend Dani Dyer – who he went on to win the programme with – was shown footage of him revealing he used to date Ellie, and she was left in tears.
The incident sparked more than 2,500 complaints to Ofcom after Dani wasn’t shown other footage of Jack in Casa Amor, where he refused to crack on with any of the new girls, declaring his affections for Dani.

JLS won’t reunite for X Factor Champions show

OHMYGOSSIP — JLS won’t return to ‘The X Factor’ for a champions-style series.
J.B. Gill has confirmed he and his bandmates – Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams – wouldn’t reunite for such a talent show, which is expected to see past favourites from the popular programme come back and compete for the ultimate champion title, because the boy band would want a comeback to be “on [their] own terms”.
Writing a guest column for Closer magazine, he said: “Simon Cowell has confirmed that the next series will be a celebrity version, X Factor All Stars with famous people singing and the public voting.
“There will also be a Champions version where previous acts will return to compete. It was time for a change and these ideas sound brilliant.
“I can never thank that show enough for what it did for me. My bandmates – Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams – and I had the best time on that show, and my life changed beyond belief.
“Even though we split up in 2013 I’m confident we’ll reform at some point – but when the time is right.
“It won’t be for any X Factor show as I think we’d want it to be on our own terms, and we owe it to our fans for them to see us first. I’d love to get back together at some point though, we’ll see.”
But the ‘Beat Again’ hitmaker has always been a “huge fan” of the series.
He added: “I’ll always be a huge fan of The X Factor and will always support it whatever happens – after all it’s where JLS took off.”

ITV promises no more Jeremy Kyle show

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV bosses have pledged not to make another programme that “looks or feels like” ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’.
The controversial daytime talk show was axed last month following the death of guest Steve Dymond – who allegedly took his own life around a week after failing a lie detector test on the programme – but network chiefs have quashed speculation they will launch another series with a similar format.
However, Julian Bellamy, ITV Studios managing director, confirmed they are keen to work with the presenter again in the future.
Appearing at a hearing on Tuesday (25.06.19) as part of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee’s inquiry into reality TV, he told MPs: “There are no plans to bring ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ back. We will not be bringing back a show that looks or feels like ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’.
“The network has been very transparent though. We have worked with Jeremy Kyle on a number of shows in the past and we would be looking to work with him in the future. There would not be another conflict resolution show though.”
Programme bosses were also branded “irresponsible” over the show’s lie detector tests and were criticised for not knowing enough about them.
Executive producer Tom McLennan insisted it was always made “very, very clear” to both viewers and participants on the show that the tests were not “100% accurate” but Committee Chairman Damian Collins said it was “astonishing” and “disappointing” that he didn’t know the exact level of accuracy.
He added: “If it wasn’t for the lie detector test we might not be sitting here today.”
The executive claimed Jeremy was “always striving for resolution” and backed the use of the lie detector.
He said: “[The viewers] respected Jeremy, they loved Jeremy and they wanted to hear his thoughts … Jeremy was a fantastic presenter.
“Jeremy did have a strong opinion about the lie detector. He’s got very strong views. He strongly believed in the tests.”
However, Mr. Collins told him it had “been suggested” that the 53-year-old star “doesn’t have much to say on the format of the programme”.

Gemma Atkinson’s Mitchell brothers boobs

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson says her boobs look like “the Mitchell brothers” since she fell pregnant.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress has joked her breasts have grown so much since she discovered she was expecting, they now resemble EastEnders’ follicly-challenged fictional siblings Grant and Phil Mitchell, who are played by Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden.
The ex-‘Hollyoaks’ star also revealed she has put on more than two stone in recent weeks due to her pregnancy, and she “couldn’t be more proud” of her body.
She wrote on Instagram: “70kg vs 85kg. Softer arms, puffier face, bigger ass and thighs, bigger belly, uterus, placenta, water retention, huge rise in estrogen meaning more cellulite and lets be honest, my boobs are like the Mitchell brothers ALL of the above means my body is working to grow my baby and I couldn’t be more proud of it (sic)”
The 34-year-old star is a self-confessed gym bunny and admits she has been “fed up” being unable lift heavy weights at times during her pregnancy, but she has advised others who feel the same to remind themselves it is “temporary” and their main focus should be on their impending bundles of joy.
She wrote: “Lots of you have DM me telling me you’re pregnant & struggling with the changes in your body. Admittedly, it is hard at first especially if like me, you were / are a gym bunny. However, if you change your way of thinking and realise firstly that pregnancy is a beautiful privilege denied to many woman so be grateful you have this opportunity, things do start to become easier. Secondly, from the minute you are carrying your baby (for me anyway) EVERYTHING became about my baby. Not my appearance. I wanted / still want them to be as strong and as healthy as possible. So if that means for the time being me as the “carrier” gains weight then so what?! I can lose it in time. Yes I’ve continued my training but to nowhere near the extent I was and I’ve most certainly ate more than usual too. On the odd day I’ve felt fed up at not being able to run or lift heavy or have a good sweat on after training I’ve reminded myself that it’s temporary and that my baby is growing well and that fed up feeling disappears in seconds. If you really want to do all that stuff again after a baby, you will. You won’t find time as you’ll be exhausted, YOU have to MAKE TIME. And if you can’t get to a gym or exercise (which many people won’t be able to) you can always start on clean foods again for a few months before anything physical. Whatever you know works best for you, you can do it. Small steps make a big difference. (sic)”
The star – who shot to fame as Lisa Hunter on ‘Hollyoaks’, and also starred as Carly Hope in ‘Emmerdale’ – has encouraged ladies “currently struggling” with pregnancy changes to “soldier on” because it will “all be worth it”.
She wrote: “Me being pregnant is the reason I look so different to how I “normally look” Me being a mum WONT be the reason I don’t get back to it and feeling as good again. Don’t let it be yours either! Woman are incredibly strong, the last 9 months I’ve learnt that even more so. We got this. So to the ladies currently struggling with the changes soldier on. Annette Bening in talks to star in Death on the Nile

OHMYGOSSIP — Annette Bening is in talks to star in ‘Death on the Nile’.
The 61-year-old actress is in discussions to take on a leading role in the latest adaptation of English novelist Agatha Christie’s work by Sir Kenneth Branagh, who will once again be directing and taking on the part of Detective Hercule Poirot following 2017’s ‘Murder on the Orient Express’.
Agatha Christie’s ‘Death on the Nile’ was first published in 1937 and features a love triangle which ends in murder.
The ‘Captain Marvel’ star would take on the role of Euphemia and the film’s stellar cast also includes Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Tom Bateman and Letitia Wright.
The big screen adaptation of Christie’s popular whodunit novel ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ featured an all-star ensemble cast which included Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz, Dame Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Derek Jacobi and Willem Dafoe among others and Branagh admitted he was slight unnerved and intimidated by the incredible talent in front of him each day on set.
Branagh, 58, said: “That’s my point of departure, that’s what I do for a living, but in a way you’re more aware that you’re asking people to come in for a finite amount of time, and you want to give them a good time.
“So the prospect of standing up in front of Judy Dench, Michelle Pfeiffer, Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley, Derek Jacobi, Willem Dafoe and telling them my cunning plans was a little intimidating.”
Branagh wasn’t the only cast member to be overawed working with the A-list cast, as ‘Star Wars’ actress Ridley, 27, admitted she cried tears of joy when she began work on the film.
She said: “I turned to Ken, wiped away a tear and said, ‘I can’t believe I’m here, thank you so much. Did someone make you cast me?’ ”
