Harry Redknapp opens public toilet

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Redknapp has opened a public toilet.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ champion – who took on toilet cleaning duties during his time in the jungle – was on hand to cut the green and white ribbon to unveil some newly refurbished public loos in Dorset.
He appeared at the event alongside businessman Geoff Thompson as the pair officially opened the bathroom, which has been closed for the last five years.
A plaque was also revealed, which reads: “These facilities were opened by Harry Redknapp ‘King of the Jungle’ July 2019”
The 72-year-old football manager had offered to clean the toilets during his time on the ITV reality show because he doesn’t have a sense of smell.
Harry lost the ability to pick up odours after a road accident in Italy 18 years ago – which killed Bournemouth managing director Brian Tiler and three young Italians – when his minibus collided with a car.
In his 2013 autobiography ‘Always Managing’, Harry – who has “no memory” of the incident – wrote: “I woke up in hospital.
“I had fractured my skull and many other bones, and suffered a horrific gash to my leg.
“I don’t think my life was ever in danger but I have never regained my sense of smell, not a complete disadvantage in some dressing rooms.”
Although Harry won the hearts of the nation to be crowned King of the Jungle last year, he recently admitted he actually almost turned down the show.
He explained: “It was a great experience for me. I’m glad I done it. I nearly didn’t do it. Right late on, I was sort of still not sure I was going to go ahead with it, and I did it.
“One or two friends of mine said, ‘Harry, it’s a great experience for you at your age. You know, go and do it.’ Yeah, I’ve never seen the show. I didn’t know what to expect, but I went into it, and I’m really pleased I did it, yeah.”

Strictly Come Dancing bosses use superheroes as code names for lineup

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses are using superheroes as code names for contestants.
The team behind the BBC ballroom competition are trying to keep the official lineup under wraps for now, and they are using some comic book monikers as the nicknames for this year’s batch of celebrities to keep their identities a secret until the big reveal.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “he code names are a fun way of keeping everything hush hush ahead of the reveal.
“They try to mix it up every time and this year it will be a load of Batman, Superman and of course, Superwoman.”
Last year, the likes of Katie Piper and reigning champion Stacey Dooley were named after cheeses.
This time round, the likes of former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Catherine Tyldesley and Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin are said to be featuring in the lineup.
Meanwhile, the next series will feature a new face on the panel after Dame Darcey Bussell revealed she was stepping down from her role as a judge.
Her replacement is yet to be announced, but Craig Revel Horwood – who will be back critiquing the stars with the mystery newcomer alongside Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas – recently weighed in on who he believes bosses should be considering for the upcoming series as he admitted Nicole Scherzinger would have been his first choice.
He said: “They must have chosen by now but, no, I haven’t been consulted. I would have loved Nicole Scherzinger but she’s been snapped up [by ‘The X Factor’].
“As long as the new person has an opinion, that is the most important thing. And also can dance …
“The worst thing would be someone who sits there without an opinion. They have to be entertaining.”

Love Island’s Joanna Chimonides slams ex Michael Griffiths

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ star Joanna Chimonides has lashed out at her ex Michael Griffiths.
The 22-year-old recruitment consultant was horrified when she tuned into Thursday’s (18.07.19) episode and saw Michael blaming her for how he treated Amber Gill on the show after he dumped Amber for Joanna.
Joanna took to Instagram Live to tell her fans: “The amount of times I’ve said, ‘check Amber’s OK, please go and see her, check she’s OK’. He’s like, ‘no, no, no’.
“Feel like it’s getting pointed at me and yeah, it’s not OK.”
Joanna also shared her reaction as she watched Michael and Amber share a passionate kiss during the villa’s buffest builder challenge.
She said: “Wow! Like even my dogs are going crazy. Oh my gosh! At least Michael’s getting some action.”
Meanwhile, Joanna had previously admitted she found it “hard to watch” Michael declare his feelings for Amber.
Michael did a U-turn on his feelings for Amber, weeks after he ditched her for Joanna, confessing her still fancied her.
He said: “Now Joanna has gone it’s given me time to think about things, and I realise I do like Amber.
“I feel like I need to do myself a favour and let her know.”
Joanna paused the TV to give her fans an update on how she was feeling and insisted she had shown “respect” for Amber when she got together with Michael in the villa.
She said: “So obviously I’ve had to just pause the TV purely because for me being stand-offish is more me having respect for those in the villa because someone else is hurting in there.
“It’s hard for me to watch this right now, I’m not gonna lie.”
She later added: “That was so hard for me to watch and right now I just don’t have any words. It’s so difficult.”

The team who receives two yellow cards will be given a red card and be removed from the coach before being replaced by another new pairing.

Jeremy Clarkson voted best Top Gear presenter of all time

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson has been voted the best ‘Top Gear’ presenter of all time.
The 59-year-old star beat off competition from 32 other presenters who have fronted the show in its 42-year history and he called the win, in the Radio Times poll, “particularly special”.
Jeremy said: “I’m overwhelmed, this is literally the 27th thing I’ve won, and it’s always special, but this is a particularly special moment.”
Tim Glanfield, the editorial director of RadioTimes.com, said: “He’s certainly a divisive character, but when it comes to one show there seems to be little doubt in the minds of the British public – Top Gear means Clarkson.
“It’s perhaps unsurprising that the three men who made the show a global hit won this particular race – but the sheer distance by which Mr Clarkson took pole position solidifies his place as the star in a car, reasonably priced or otherwise.”
Jeremy’s co-stars James May and Richard Hammond, came second and third respectively.
The trio left the show in 2015 after Jeremy was dropped by the BBC for his “unprovoked physical and verbal attack” on producer Oisin Tymon. They went on to front rival show ‘The Grand Tour’ for Amazon Prime Video.
They were replaced by Radio DJ Chris Evans and former ‘Friends’ star Matt Le Blanc.
In 2019, Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris took over the show.
Chris has taken fourth place in the Radio Times poll with Tiff Needell in fifth.
LeBlanc is in sixth place, with McGuiness and Flintoff at seventh and eighth. Vicki Butler-Henderson and Quentin Wilson round out the Top 10.

Corrie’s Ryan Clayton signs new ITV contract

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Clayton has signed a new ITV contract.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who left the cobbles as evil Josh Tucker last year – has revealed he has agreed terms for a return to the channel, but he’s staying tight lipped about what exactly the role will entail.
Sharing a shot of a contract on Twitter, the soap star simply tagged ITV in his tweet alongside emojis of a green tick and a pencil and paper.
It’s not been confirmed whether Ryan is set for a Weatherfield comeback, but the exciting tease comes nine months after he was last seen on the soap.
Speaking at the time of his exit when Jack P. Shepherd’s character David Platt – who Josh raped early last year – drove the mechanic away from the cobbles, Ryan admitted he feels “grateful and blessed” to have starred on ‘Corrie’.
He tweeted: “That’s all folks for Josh Tucker. What an honour @itvcorrie . Feeling so grateful & blessed – From being apart of this storyline/ working with such talented & sound people/ All the kind words & support from loved ones & complete strangers. It’s meant the world to me (sic)”
Confused Josh, who was recently left blind, reacted with panic that his life would be over if he was forced to confess to rape, giving David the closure he needed on the horrific ordeal.
Ryan and Jack worked with Survivors Manchester – a charity supporting men who have been the victims of sexual abuse – on the hard-hitting plot, and Ryan has thanked the organisation for their help with the storyline.
He wrote: “And of course more importantly than me being a soppy t**t, for anyone affected by this storyline please don’t suffer in silence – when you’re ready http://www.survivorsmanchester.org.uk/ thanks for the support @SurvivorsMcr @mrmadrigal (sic)”
Survivors Manchester tweeted: “We’re so proud of you @RClayton92 and thank you for everything.”
Ryan finished filming on ‘Corrie’ six weeks before his on-screen departure was aired in October 2018, and he confirmed to ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Daniel Jillings (Billy Parker) that he was out of work.
He wrote: “Now I’m out of work again more time to prep for the big clash again next season. See you out there lad. Except wont see me cause I’ll be going right past you lad! (sic)”

Hollyoaks boss promises big things for annual stunt

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ bosses have teased plans for the show’s upcoming autumn stunt.
The Channel 4 soap’s annual spectacle is coming in October, and executive producer Bryan Kirkwood revealed the team are looking to give viewers the “best stunt yet” with promises of a “love story” and much more.
He told Digital Spy: “We’re really happy about October this year. We want to deliver our best stunt yet for the audience. Year after year, viewers tell us that the autumn stunt is one of the highlights of their enjoyment of the show.
“What’s fantastic this time is that we’ll be including some story threads which have been lying low, such as the paternity of DJ. We have a big love story that will explode, literally! And we have some eye-watering stunts as always.
“That leads into another great big story for characters connected to the stunt week, so it’s a really big October for the show.”
Gary Lucy is set to return full time as Luke Morgan, and while viewers know he is baby DJ’s father, his other son Ollie (Aedan Duckworth) has lied about the DNA test results and claimed Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) is the dad.
Meanwhile, there are also plans to bring back two favourites alongside a big guest spot in 2020 as the show celebrates its 25th anniversary.
A source told Metro.co.uk: “As ‘Hollyoaks’ approaches the 25th anniversary with huge stories building now it’s an appealing point to return to the show which is firing on all cylinders.
“The guest casting will heighten the temperature – which is quite the challenge when you look at the start of Six Weeks Of Summer!”

Yvonne Strahovski in talks to join Ghost Draft

OHMYGOSSIP — Yvonne Strahovski is in talks to star with Chris Pratt in ‘Ghost Draft’.
The 36-year-old actress is in negotiations to join the upcoming sci-fi film, which will be penned by Zach Dean and will see Pratt reunite with filmmaker Chris McKay – with whom he worked on the ‘Lego Movie’ and ‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’.
The movie will follow a man drafted to fight in a future war with the fate of humanity relying on his ability to confront his past and Strahovski will play a character Pratt meets in the future who has a connection to his past.
Adam Kolbrenner and David S. Goyer will serve as producers, with Dana Goldberg and Don Granger overseeing for Skydance and production is expected to begin this summer.
Strahovski is best known for starring as Serena Joy Waterford in dystopian TV series ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel of the same name, which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2018.
The acclaimed series follows a group of women called ‘Handmaids’ in a totalitarian society, who are forced into child-bearing servitude following a Second American Civil War and the show’s lead Elisabeth Moss, who plays Serena Joy’s Handmaid Offred, was “surprised” by the success of the show.
The 36-year-old actress admitted it was “risky” to adapt Atwood’s beloved book into a TV series and she also thought viewers might think the series was too “dark”.
She said: “I was a little surprised when the show took off.
“It’s dark and based on a book that’s really important to people, so it was very risky.”

Beyonce praised for Lion King song

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé put her “soul and her spirit” into her new song for ‘The Lion King’, composer Hans Zimmer has revealed.
The Grammy award-winning composer says the R&B superstar took her role as lioness Nala in the upcoming Disney remake “very seriously” and he has hailed her new track ‘Spirit’, which was written specifically for the film, as “a truly beautiful song”.
In an interview with Variety, Hans said: “She took this movie very seriously and just presented us, right at the last moment, with a truly beautiful song that was absolutely perfect for a key scene.
“She talks about her soul and her spirit in song form. We’d actually done something else in that place, but how can you say no when a masterpiece is sent to you?”
Hans went on to praise the film’s director Jon Favreau and insisted that the filmmaker brought a “sensitivity and an emotional connection” to the story, which is a photo realistic animation based on the original 1994 Disney cartoon film.
He said: “Jon brought a heart and a sensitivity and an emotional connection to this film. Twenty-five years later, when the world is in serious danger of collapsing, this is a film that deals with nature in a grand and, at the same time, really personal, way.”
‘The Lion King’ includes all the songs from the original movie, although some have been updated to suit the voices of the new voice cast which also includes Donald Glover, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen to name a few.
Hans has provided new additions to the score and Sir Elton John has penned a brand-new track for the movie titled ‘Never Too Late’, alongside lyricist Tim Rice – who worked with Elton on the original film’s soundtrack, which included the ever-popular ‘Circle of Life’.

Michaela Strachan gives out eco tips to save the planet

OHMYGOSSIP — Michaela Strachan wants people to stop washing their jeans so often to help save the planet.
In a bid to make a positive difference to animals and their habitats in the UK and abroad, the ‘Springwatch’ host has teamed up with Old Mout Cider and WWF’s Head of Climate Change, Gareth Redmond-King, to offer their top tips on simple lifestyle changes which will help make Brits more eco-friendly.
The 53-year-old conversationalist suggested that denim jeans don’t need to be cleaned as often as people think, and cited fashion mogul Stella McCartney, who is a long-time advocate of avoiding the washing machine in order to avoid releasing plastic microfibres into the environment.
As well as washing them less frequently, the former ‘Countryfile’ host suggested using “organic non-harmful washing powder and put on a cool, short wash”.
Michaela also recommended that festival-goers ditch single-use make-up removal wipes, ensure their glitter is biodegradable, leave nothing behind and take re-usable water bottles and coffee cups.
The ‘Really Wild Show’ star is also a believer in “green gifting” such as buying someone a tree through a charity or adopting an animal in their name rather than opting for a conventional present.
She said: “For my 50th a few years ago I got everyone to buy a tree through a charity … My son Ollie gets a different adopted wild animal every year for Christmas.”
Another suggestion was using trains rather than flying if you’re travelling in Europe and the TV personality proposed that if holidaymakers are flying overseas, they donate money to a charity such as The World Land Trust, which is a UK non-profit organisation which aims to ensure conservation of plants, animals and natural communities in areas at risk.

Rainbow’s Zippy in love with co-star George

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Rainbow’s Zippy was secretly in love with his co-star George.
The classic show featured cuddly puppets Zippy, George and Bungle living together and Zippy’s handler Ronnie Le Drew has revealed he was infatuated with George’s puppeteer Valerie Heberden, and was left upset when his feelings were not returned.
Speaking at East London venue the Wanstead Tap to promote his book, ‘Zippy and Me’, the Daily Mirror reports Ronnie, 73, said: “She was a spellbinding puppeteer as well as an attractive young woman. I was smitten. It broke me, broke me. Of course, I told myself a girl like Valerie would never have fancied me.
“I was the ‘nice guy’. What an idiot I had been to imagine otherwise. She realised I had a thing for her but her warmth cut through the embarrassment. We could remain friends, and that meant a lot to me.”
“She was so well liked the cast nicknamed her The Lovely Valerie. She went on maternity leave because sitting scrunched up under the table trying to operate a pink hippo was not compatible with the advanced stages of pregnancy.”
And Ronnie was left devastated when Valerie died shortly after leaving ‘Rainbow’ to have her second child.
He said: “She had always been our rock. I knew working on the show would never be the same.”
In his new book, Ronnie also reveals the racy secrets behind the children’s TV show, admitting that when the cameras stopped rolling, the puppets enjoyed some saucy shenanigans which would have horrified their viewers.
He writes: “Several times during rehearsals Zippy smuggled a large carrot under the covers that poked up at opportune moments, and he also became very prone to masturbating.
“George would be reprimanded by Bungle for wetting the bed or leaving skid marks on the sheets, and when Geoffrey spoke straight to the camera, George and Zippy would often start humping in the background.
“George and Zippy occasionally got up to the sort of thing adults do in bed. It was our way of entertaining the cameramen when we had a particularly light show. There were many times I caught myself watching Zippy and George copulating and thought to myself, ‘Oh, they are naughty’, before remembering that I was to blame.”
‘Rainbow’ launched in 1972 and ran for 27 series before being cancelled in the 90s.

Dani Dyer’s Love Island return

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer will make a return to ‘Love Island’.
The reigning champion – who won the show with her former boyfriend Jack Fincham last year – will broadcast Capital Radio’s weekend breakfast show with Rob Howard live from Casa Amor ahead of the show’s final.
Capital Breakfast’s Roman Kemp, Vick Hope and Sonny Jay will be kicking things off in Casa Capital as they present their breakfast show live from the villa on Friday 26th July from 6am – 10am.
And on Saturday 27th July, Rob and Dani will broadcast live from the villa as she prepares to hand her crown over to this year’s winners.
Aimee Vivian will host her own show from 12pm – 4pm before Jimmy Hill finishes up from 4pm – 7pm.
Meanwhile, Dani has been speaking out about this year’s contestants and she has chosen Maura Higgins are her favourite.
She recently said: “I really do love Maura. I find her absolutely hilarious and I think the villa needed that, she has such a good personality. I think you need to have a laugh in there and she’s definitely bringing it to the table.
“It’s just a reality show and she is entertaining, she brings the entertainment to the show. I think Tommy Fury is great and I think every girl in there fancies him, don’t they? But he’s so lovely and he’s such a nice guy even though he doesn’t know how to make tea. I think he has a good chance of winning it.”
Dani also spoke about why ‘Love Island’ is so appealing.
She said: “I would describe ‘Love Island’ as something you can come home to and just switch off and enjoy, because everyone loves love and watching relationships unfold.
“I definitely think it should be limited to a younger audience. I think the parents should watch it before and then show the kids the bits that are okay to watch because some of it is a love show, and there’s bits in it younger kids shouldn’t see. I know that’s what my parents did last year when I was on it.”

Anton Danyluk blasted by mum over Anna Vakili kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Danyluk’s mum has blasted the ‘Love Island’ hunk for kissing Anna Vakili.
The 24-year-old gym owner left Belle Hassan – who he is coupled up with – upset when he chose Anna for a kissing challenge and his mother Sherie Ann said she was furious with her son for his actions.
Speaking to STV, she said: “I felt wow, Anton, out of order when he kissed Anna. It wasn’t kissing Anna because I believe the two of them are really really close. It was when he turned around and said that she was the best kisser. I don’t think he actually realised what he was saying and I’ll tell you Belle, she handles him well.
“I was proud of her. Quite honestly kissing Anna – I would have gave Anton a Glasgow kiss.”
Anton shocked viewers when he revealed that his mother shaves his bum but Sherie Ann doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about.
She said: What’s wrong with my shaving his bum.
‘I’ll say to him go and have a bath son and he’ll go in and he’ll have a bath and he’ll come out and I’ll just shave his bum. That hair, you could put rollers in that hair.
“I’ve been called a helicopter mum. I’m one of those mothers that when I see him going off the rails I fly down and just pick him back up.
“Now he’s at an age and stage, that I’ve got to let him go and be a man and do the things he wants to do now because Anton’s all about helping people.
“In the villa every morning he’s training everybody. He spends three hours of his day just making sure that everybody does their training.
“He naturally loves to see people doing the best that they can do and being the best that they can be.”

John Torode doesn’t remember meeting Lisa Faulkner

OHMYGOSSIP — John Torode doesn’t remember first meeting Lisa Faulkner.
Although the couple got to know each other after Lisa won ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ in 2010, they actually first met 20 years ago on TV show ‘This Morning.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, John explained: “We met on ‘This Morning’ 20 years ago, I don’t remember but apparently we did.”
Lisa added: “While filming ‘MasterChef’ I told him and he just went “yeah right”.
John proposed to Lisa while they were on holiday in India last Christmas and she admitted she felt terrible because he bought her a beautiful ring, while her Christmas present to him was a pair of yoga pants.
Lisa said: “It was a very romantic proposal, he asked me on Christmas Day in India. He said we can only have one present each, so I gave him a pair of yoga pants and he gave me a ring.
“It was a complete surprise, I had no idea, the box was bigger than a ring box so I didn’t know.”
While the proposal was a surprise, John admitted he had been planning it for some time.
He said: “She tried this ring on months before and said to me ‘what do you think?’ and I just said ‘fine’. She didn’t know but I later went back and got it.”
However, there was one disadvantage to proposing in a different country.
John said: “There’s four hours time difference between India and home so she was pacing for four hours waiting to call her sister.”
Although they met on ‘MasterChef’, John and only started dating in 2015.
Lisa, 47, split from Chris Coghill, the father of her daughter Billie in 2011, while John, 53, split from his former wife Jessica, the mother of his two children, in 2011 and was granted a divorce in 2014. John also has two other children from previous relationships.

Moya Brady: No one is safe from Breda McQueen

OHMYGOSSIP — Moya Brady warns no one is safe from Breda McQueen.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star’s killer alter ego is set to strike again and claim at least one new victim in the coming weeks, and while she name dropped Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) and Mercedes Queen (Jennifer Metcalfe) as people to “step up”, she teased that anyone could be in the firing line.
She said: “Well, I think Harry better step up, because there is a new born baby, which was brought into this world by Breda herself. “Mercedes is very much in danger, as she has been behaving very badly and Sylver really doesn’t deserve it. So, she better watch herself… Pretty much everyone better watch themselves.”
While Mercedes would be a departure from Breda’s history of targeting bad fathers, Moya thinks her character’s motivation is slightly different there when it comes to “protecting her son” Sylver McQueen (David Tag).
She explained: “That’s about Sylver and how she feels towards protecting her son. No matter who they are, man, woman, animal, alien, anybody who goes near Breda’s children are in danger.”
Meanwhile, a body resurfaces in the village over the summer, with many people speculating it could be one of Breda’s victims.
Moya admitted her alter ego will “be worried”, but she’s “sharp” enough to figure out how to deal with the possible issue.
She added: “I think Breda has always got one eye on potential threats. Of course, she’ll be worried, but she’s pretty good at getting out of sticky situations. She’s pretty sharp.”

Hollyoaks boss reveals which soap stars he’d take from rivals

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ boss Bryan Kirkwood would love to see Meg Johnson and Lorraine Stanley on the show.
The Channel 4 soap’s executive producer keeps tabs on his rival programmes and he admitted the ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘EastEnders’ actresses have both impressed him so much that he thinks they’d be perfectly at home in the village.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, he said: “I watched ‘Emmerdale’ recently and loved Pearl Ladderbanks. I’ve always been a fan of Meg Johnson’s work, she was in ‘Corrie’ years ago, and she was just dazzling in this episode.
“It made me think it would be lovely to see her having a G&T with Nana McQueen in ‘Hollyoaks’, sipping behind the bar!
“I also love Karen Taylor, played by Lorraine Stanley. To me she is one of the best ‘EastEnders’ characters in years.”
While Meg joined ‘Emmerdale’ 16 years ago, she previously appeared on the cobbles as Eunice Gee from 1981 to 1982, before briefly reprising the role in 1999.
Meanwhile, Lorraine debuted as Karen two years ago in Albert Square, and found herself shortlisted for top prizes at the British Soap and TV Choice award ceremonies.
Bryan – who previously worked for both ‘Corrie’ and ‘EastEnders’ behind the scenes – revealed he is always keeping up to date with other soaps, and described it as a “healthy” habit to get into for his role.
He explained: “It’s an unofficial part of my job description to see what’s going on in the other shows.
“I think it’s healthy to know what’s on the horizon and what territory they’re veering into.”
