John Wick producer Erica Lee admits ‘the stars have to align’ for fifth film

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘John Wick’ producer Erica Lee has admitted “the stars have to align” if a fifth film is ever to be made.
The action series seemingly reached its conclusion after Keanu Reeves’ prolific assassin was laid to rest in last year’s ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ and the movie producer has now teased that another instalment is possible, but only if she and the team feel the supposed fifth movie is “a great idea”.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Lee said: “First and foremost, I’d love ‘John Wick 5’ and figuring out what that movie looks like and what the story is and how we take the franchise to the next level.
“I think we set this bar so high in [John Wick: Chapter 4’] and we left it all on the table. I say we burn the house down when we make the movie.
“So I think to pull it all together, it has to be a great idea and the stars have to align, and there’s a lot of pressure to get that right. So that’s what I’m most hopeful and excited and anxious about.
“Is [Wick] dead? I think that that’s subjective. Maybe there’s nothing in that grave. I’m a producer, so we’re hopeful for more.”
Fellow franchise producer David Leitch – who co-directed the first ‘John Wick’ film in 2014 with Chad Stahelski – added he was also willing to return to the series, but only if he found he was “the right person” to tell “the right story”.
When asked whether he would get back behind the camera for another ‘John Wick’ flick, the ‘Deadpool 2’ filmmaker said: “I say never say never. I’m such a fan of that character and I love John so much, and I love working with Keanu and it would be awesome. But again, I don’t think about it often, but if I did, of course, yes. If it was the right story and I’m the right person to tell it, sure.”
While the future of the mainline ‘John Wick’ universe is uncertain, the franchise has already expanded with spin-off projects like the Prime Video show ‘The Continental’ and the Ana de Armas-starring ‘Ballerina’, which is set to hit theatres in June 2025.

Gary Barlow to front ITV series about wine

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow is to front a new documentary series about wine.
The 53-year-old pop star launched his eponymous wine business in late 2021 and will now be joined by the likes of ‘This Morning’ host Ben Shephard and singer Mica Paris on his new viticulture programme ‘Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour: South Africa’ for ITV.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I just wanted to approach this as someone who is trying to learn about it all. And hopefully we show the audience that they don’t need to feel too daunted by wine.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that the Take That star had chosen to do a show in South Africa because he is a “huge fan” of the region and had been there several times.
A source said: “He’s a huge fan of South Africa and has been there on several occasions previously, so it was a natural choice as a destination for his first travelogue.
“And, of course, because it is one of the world’s biggest producers of fine wines, he will be in his absolute element delivering this show.”
The programme is created by the same company that produced chef Ainsley Harriott’s ‘Taste of Malta’, set to air on ITV later this year.
On top of his wine range, Gary is also a property developer.
A source previously said: “Gary is no stranger to trying out new business ventures and flipping properties is his latest one.
“He has opened a company and the plan is to buy houses and then sell them on for a profit.
“It’s a shrewd business idea and a number of big name stars do this, including Courteney Cox, Sharon Osbourne and Daniel Radcliffe.”
Gary set up his property business with expert specialist Geoff Egan, and also has management company San Remo Live Publishing, established in 2007

Ant and Dec to make jokes about Coleen Rooney’s Wagatha Christie case on I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec are reportedly preparing a “swear jar” for when Coleen Rooney is in the jungle.
The 38-year-old star – who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney – is said to have inked a deal to star on the ITV1 jungle reality show amid her long-running feud with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, but insiders have claimed that any mention of her libel court case will result in money being placed in a jar by the hosts.
A show insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Talks about scripts and trials are throwing up hilarious ideas, like a swear jar.
“Another plan is having tasks based on a Cluedo-type idea, with Coleen as the detective.”
Coleen was unsuccessfully sued by Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, 42, after she named her Instagram account as the source of leaks to the press and Rebekah was ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal costs – but the bill is being contested over claims it has been inflated by items including fancy dinners and stays in swanky hotels.
Rebekah was an approved follower of Coleen’s private Instagram page and Mrs Rooney was dubbed Wagatha Christie for her social media sleuthing, a reference to the legendary mystery author Agatha Christie.
The former model’s fee is said to be the highest given out to any celebrity who has appeared on the Ant and Dec-fronted series.
Rebekah took part in the show herself in 2017 and received a reported fee of £100,000 to appear, but was the third contestant to be voted off before ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Georgia Toffolo was eventually named Queen of the Jungle.
In 2018, former ‘Deal Or No Deal’ host Noel Edmonds was said to have been paid £600,000 for his time on the show, whilst former health minister Matt Hancock is said to have received £400,000 in 2022.
In 2023, Nigel ended up in third place behind boxer Tony Bellew and ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Sam Thompson.
Other celebrities thought to be gearing up for the Australian jungle this year include ‘Loose Women’ panellist Jane Moore and former ‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

Warwick Davis wants ITV bosses to bring Tenable back

OHMYGOSSIP — Warwick Davis wants a revival of ‘Tenable’.
The 54-year-old actor presented the ITV1 afternoon quiz show in which teams attempt win up to £125,000 by filling in Top10-style lists but the series was axed in August this year and he is keen for fans to rally together to get the show back on air.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “Presenting ‘Tenable’ was one of my favourite things to do.
“I loved the show. People tell me they still watch old episodes now and enjoy it. “I feel like I should video people on my phone when they say, ‘We miss Tenable’ and then send them to ITV!”
The ‘Harry Potter’ star did acknowledge that the “landscape of television” has changed since the advent of streaming giants like Netflix and is aware that any chance of a revival will only come to fruition should it become profitable for the broadcaster since that sort of programme relies on advertising to sustain itself.
He said: “The landscape of television has changed immensely with all the streaming services now.
“Unless you can pull in the advertisers, you can’t get a show on.
“One day it may become apparent that Tenable is viable once again. Maybe we could even do a Tenable film one day!”
‘Tenable’ was first broadcast in 2016 and ran for more than 300 episodes, and for a short time in recent years it was hosted by former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sally Lindsay.
Upon its cancellation, an ITV spokesperson said: “Tenable has been a much-loved ITV game show since it launched in 2016.
“While there are no brand new episodes currently planned, fans of the show can still watch it on ITVX

Line of Duty could be back for a seventh series as stars reunite with creator for meeting

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Line of Duty’ could return for a seventh series.
The BBC police procedural drama came to an end in 2021 after four years on air but now an insider has claimed that cast members Vicky McClure, 41, Martin Compston, 40, and Adrian Dunbar, 66, – who played Detective Kate Fleming, DS Steve Arnott and Supt Ted Hastings respectively -have met with show creator Jed Mercurio to discuss how they can “align their schedules” for 2025.
An insider told The Sun: “Jed is close with Vicky, Martin and Adrian, and they often meet for dinner – this time it was different.
“A topic of conversation was how they could align their schedules in 2025 to ensure ‘Line of Duty’ seven happens.
“The ambition is filming could start next year, with it on screens by early 2026.”
The impact the show has had on all three of them is that they are in high demand to be snapped up.
Martin has gone on to appear in the Amazon Prime thriller ‘The Rig’ as radio and communications officer Fulmer Hamilton in the show that follows a Scottish oil rig in the North Sea smothered in an unnatural fog that cuts off outside communications.
Meanwhile, Adrian has been at the forefront of another crime drama and played Alex Ridley in the ITV show ‘Ridley’, where his character is enlisted as a police consultant on a complex and compelling murder case.
Vicky starred as police bomb disposal expert Lana Washington ITV’s crime thriller ‘Trigger Point’ who heads up a Metropolitan Police bomb squad.
Speaking about working with Jed – who also created the corporation’s police drama ‘Bodyguard’ – in an interview with the BBC, she said: “I just found it really helpful having him around.
“The scripts were so strong, there was never really any need, for instance, to challenge them.
“There were no sorts of gaps in a way when you thought: ‘Well, I’m a bit confused, why is that happening?’
It was more a case that he could give you a little bit more insight to his vision and how you get there – and just pick you up on certain things.
“Jed’s an extremely talented guy, and he’s really good fun to work with as well.”
‘Line of Duty’ is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Pedro Pascal says Gladiator II ‘was unlike anything he’d ever experienced’

OHMYGOSSIP — Pedro Pascal has said making ‘Gladiator II’ “was unlike anything [he’d] ever experienced”.
The 49-year-old actor – who stars in the historical epic as the Roman general Marcus Acacius – was blown away by the dramatic Colosseum scene he filmed with Paul Mescal, 28, and has praised his co-star for “lighting up” the sequence.
During an interview with the UK radio station Heart FM where he was asked about his biggest stand-out moment of the movie was, Pascal said: “I think ships and the fireballs and the fortified wall and Paul Mescal – they help with lighting up the opening sequence! But it was an unbelievable thing.
“That was the first thing that I shot, and I think it was the first couple of days of actual shooting for the movie. We were in Morocco, and I’ve been on big sets, and I hadn’t been on anything like this. I hadn’t played anything like that from start to finish, which was just unbelievably bad.
“I’d start at the back of the ship in the General’s tower, and end with sprinting off of the drawbridge onto the wall in one shot.
“It was unbelievable! It’s unlike anything I’d ever experienced, and it’s unlike anything I’ll ever experience again on the movie set.”
‘Gladiator II’ – which also stars Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen and Joseph Quinn – follows Lucius Verus (Mescal), the former heir to the Roman Empire who is forced into slavery and eventually pushed to fight in the Colosseum in an effort to restore glory to his home.
As well as his “unbelievable” experience, Pascal admitted he was exited to get to work with director Sir Ridley Scott on the blockbuster.
‘The Last of Us’ star gushed: “My initial reaction was, ‘I can’t wait to meet Ridley Scott.’ And the second was the honour of – and I’m sorry, but I am a genuine a** kisser. But I only kiss it when I mean it!”

Robert Zemeckis wants to make a Back to the Future musical movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Zemeckis pitched a ‘Back to the Future’ musical movie to Universal Pictures, but the studio wasn’t interested.
The 72-year-old director helmed the franchise from its 1985 debut to its conclusion five years later, and has now revealed he considered revisiting the series to make a musical version of the first film, though Universal has since shot that idea down.
During an appearance on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, Zemeckis said: “I would like to do the ‘Back to the Future: The Musical’ [movie]. I would love to do that. think that would be great. I floated that out to the folks at Universal. They don’t get it. So, [there’s] nothing I can do.”
While the ‘Forrest Gump’ filmmaker toyed with the idea of making a musical, Zemeckis reiterated this would be the only way he would make another ‘Back to the Future’ flick.
When host Josh Horowitz asked whether a direct sequel was possible, the director said: “We’ve always felt that, ‘This was enough’ and that we had to live with it just being the three movies.
“The musical is more of a companion to the movies than a remake. It’s sort of like another … it’s a whole other thing. It’s a celebration of the movie basically.”
While he joked Universal have been asking him “every six months” to make more ‘Back to the Future’ films, Zemeckis revealed the studio has consistently approached him about doing more with the franchise.
He explained: “They say, ‘Is there anything else we can do here?’, and we have to say, ‘Yeah there are different things that might work.’
“But to remake the movie or suggest that there is a ‘Back to the Future 4’ … it just isn’t in the cards.”
Even if another ‘Back to the Future’ doesn’t happen, Michael J. Fox – who starred opposite Christopher Lloyd as Mary McFly in the trilogy – previously said he was at peace with Hollywood potentially rebooting the series without him, but stressed Zemeckis and his co-writer Bob Gale wouldn’t be interested in working on another film.
He told Variety: “I think Bob and Bob have been really smart about that. I don’t think it needs rebooting because are you going to clarify something? You’re going to find a better way to tell the story? I doubt it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Dowden is set to miss the rest of this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 34-year-old dancer – who was partnered with pop star JB Gill – won’t return to the dancer floor this year, after suffering a foot injury.

Lauren performed alongside JB, 37, at the weekend and the couple managed to score 39 points out of a possible 40 with their routine.

Love Island: All Stars winners Molly Smith and Tom Clare share huge update on marriage and babies

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly Smith and Tom Clare are in “no mad rush” for marriage and babies.
The 30-year-old reality star has been in a relationship with footballer Tom, 25, since they met on ‘Love Island: All Stars’ earlier this year and after buying their first house together, she has now admitted that they may have discussed the idea of having a family but it isn’t on the cards “any time soon” for them.
She told OK! Magazine: “Yes, we definitely talk about it because we’re obviously serious.
“We know it’s going to happen one day but we’re not in a mad rush for it. We’re just loving what each day brings and taking our time with things. ”
We’ve got our heads down to get renovation done and dusted and enjoying the process. So yes those are things we definitely want, but it won’t be any time soon.”
Molly initially appeared on the sixth series of the ITV2 dating show, whilst Tom competed on the 2023 series but they were both brought back to compete in the spin-off version.
Despite this, the influencer admitted that she doesn’t see herself as “famous” per se and it still takes her by surprise when a fan approaches her for a selfie.
She said: “When you’re in the villa you’re in a bubble, so when you come out and you don’t know what’s been going on it’s very overwhelming. But I’m so grateful for it all. I don’t see myself as someone famous. So it’s still strange when people recognise me. If someone asks for a picture I’m like, ‘What?! Me?'”
The TV star also noted that it is important to her to stay in touch with those who knew her before her sudden fame.
She said: “It’s one of my best friend’s birthdays today and I can’t wait to see her. We were friends all the way through high school, then college. And I’ve got a friend who I’ve been friends with since I was six and we lived on the same street. I’m also super close to all my family, so family has always been really important to me.”

‘I finally felt like me again’ Amy Dowden heartbroken as she is forced to pull out of Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Dowden has been left heartbroken after she was forced to pull out of this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ series.
The 34-year-old professional dancer returned to the BBC Latin and ballroom show this year after she was forced to miss the 2023 series when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
But she has been left devastated after a foot injury ruled her out of the rest of the season, because she had “finally felt” like herself again.
She wrote on Instagram: “My heart is breaking right now.
“The past few months I finally felt like me again. Cancer was no longer the first thing I thought of when I woke up.
“It was choreography, music choices, which dances were in order, what we needed to work on. I felt free again.
“My goal since hearing those words you have cancer was to get back on the Strictly dance floor.
“It’s been such a challenge to get back, one I devoted 2024 to.
“Which with my incredible team we got there. Something I wanted to do for myself and loved ones.
“There was no feeling like it dancing again in the ballroom with my Strictly family.”
Amy was partnered alongside singer J.B. Gill in the latest ‘Strictly’ series, and she has thanked him for being a “perfect partner”.
She said: “Then I was partnered with the talented, kind, gentle soul JB.
“Every day our training room was chilled, hardworking and full of big smiles enjoying what we was creating together with a blossoming friendship.
“JB thank you for being the perfect partner back. We topped the leader board week one and continued to work so hard and thank you for being so passionate about understanding the ballroom and Latin fundamentals.
“For me that rumba will always be one of my favs. I’m so sad, so upset and asking why me, why now that our journey has been cut short. (sic)”
Following Amy’s exit, J.B. is now partnered up with pro dancer Lauren Oakley, and Amy has wished the pair well in the contest.
She wrote: “My heart right now is breaking having to pull out of the competition due to a foot injury and I know only too well ‘this too shall pass’ and I’ll be soon better and back dancing. Something I’ve had to get used to in my life.
“I’m sure at some point we will dance again JB.
“To all the fans, to my loved ones, my strictly family thank you.
“JB I know you and Lauren will continue to ace that dance floor I’ll forever be your biggest cheerleader.”

OHMYGOSSIP — JB Gill has topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard.
The 37-year-old pop star and Lauren Oakley, his stand-in professional partner, scored 39 points with their latest routine on the BBC show.
JB and Lauren, 33 – who was stepping in for Amy Dowden – were awarded nine points by Craig Revel Horwood, and ten points from each of the other three ‘Strictly’ judges.
Amy, 34, missed the latest episode of the show after falling ill last weekend. However, the professional dancer still sent messages of support to JB and Lauren before their performance.
Amy – who missed the 2023 series of ‘Strictly’ after being diagnosed with breast cancer – wrote on Instagram: “Wishing these two the absolute best of luck tonight! I’m going to be your biggest cheerleader!”
The TV star also heaped praise on JB and Lauren, who was promoted after Amy fell ill.

I’m so lucky! You’re a STAR! I know what tonight means to you! Thank you! (sic)”

The 26-year-old model and Aljaz, 34, danced a Couple’s Choice routine to ‘What About Us’ by Pink.
However, Craig once again stopped them from achieving a perfect score.

Sarah Hadland wants to create comedy role for Vito Coppola

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Hadland plans to write a comedy role for Vito Coppola.
The ‘Miranda’ actress is currently competing in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with the 32-year-old professional, but when their time on the show comes to an end, she wants to continue their partnership and give him a glimpse into her world with a part in one of the projects she is writing.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I really want to give Vito his first comedy role in British television. That’s a goal for me, so watch this space!”
But the 53-year-old star hopes her time on ‘Strictly’ doesn’t run out any time soon.
She joked: “Once this series is finished, I’ll probably keep turning up at Elstree Studios anyway.
“They’ll look at me strangely and be like, ‘Sarah, it’s over! ‘ I’ll be like, ‘No, no, no.’ I’ll rent out a little room there, and pay Vito to turn up every Saturday night for a little dance.”
Sarah has always been a ‘Strictly’ “super fan” and is still amazed she was offered the chance to compete.
She said: “I’ve always been a ‘Strictly’ super fan, so this is so surreal. Every year I have a big group of friends I watch it with, and now I’m in it! It’s mad. It’s simultaneously exhilarating and terrifying.”
The ‘Daddy Issues’ actress compared the experience to a “speeding train”.
She said: “Sometimes, you want to get off, have a cup of tea and a lie-down, but you wouldn’t dream of it, because it’s so thrilling you don’t want it to end. It feels like a fairy tale. Everything else will feel like black and white after this.”
And Sarah is being cheered on by her good friend Miranda Hart.
She said: “Miranda has told me that having a close friend on it has made her fall in love with ‘Strictly’ even more. We have a huge WhatsApp group of friends – when I was watching it, we’d normally meet up at Miranda’s and make a night of it, and I’d usually watch the final with Miranda and Patricia Hodge, who plays Penny.”

James Martin finds presenting ‘really difficult’

OHMYGOSSIP — James Martin finds presenting “really difficult”.
The ‘James Martin’s Saturday Morning’ star finds it easier to cook and chat with the guests on his shows than do any formal hosting because he has “severe” dyslexia, and the language processing disorder makes it hard for him to read an autocue.
Appearing on Kaye Adams’ BBC Radio Scotland show, he praised her work and said: “I’m watching you do your thing while I’m listening to music play and you’re like a conductor.
“I can’t do what you do and I certainly can’t when I’ve been on ‘Loose Women’ with you as well.
“I certainly admire anyone who’s able to do that.
“Weirdly I can cook and talk at the same time but presenting I still find really difficult.
“I’m severely dyslexic so reading anything off an autocue is really hard work, so if I’m allowed to cook and chat that’s where I feel at home.”
James revealed in summer 2023 he had been battling facial cancer since 2018, having first undergone surgery six years ago before the disease returned on “several occasions”, and in November last year, he pledged to take a “bit of a break” to focus on his health.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, he told fans at a show at the Philharmonic Hall: “For me personally, I’ve been through a lot of s*** with cancer but I’m getting sorted at the end of next month.
“I will be back fighting at the end of February but I’m going on a little bit of a break to get that sorted.
“I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and all your messages.”
And in April, he confirmed he had made progress.
He said on ‘Lorraine’: “As you know, the last time I was on, I was in the middle of operations.
“But as we speak, the stitches are falling out of my body at the moment.
“So yeah, that’s all clear – onwards and upwards!”

Charlotte Crosby wants ‘bigger things’ than reality TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby is “striving for bigger things” than reality TV.
The 34-year-old star shot to fame on ‘Geordie Shore’ 13 years ago and has appeared in numerous celebrity competition series since then, but she’s insisted she won’t be doing that any more because they require “too much effort” for a small pay cheque.
She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “I love TV and some people want to do everything they’re offered. But I’ve done that now.
“Anything that just seems a bit too strenuous, I just don’t really want to do it. I don’t really want to do shows that are going to be too much effort.
“It’s just a little pay packet and then it’s over.
“I’m striving for bigger things right now.”
Instead, the former ‘Just Tattoo Of Us’ host – who has two-year-old daughter Alba and is pregnant with her second child with fiance Jake Ankers – is focused on her business endeavours.
She added: “I’ve got two businesses. I want to be a successful owner who one day sells her business for millions of pounds and I don’t think dancing in the ballroom on ‘Strictly’ is going to get me there.”
But Charlotte knows it won’t be that easy to achieve her ambitions as there is also major risks involved.
She added: “I’m ready to take over the business world. I find the business world electric.
“It’s a rollercoaster – it’s up and down. There’s a fear of bankruptcy. But I love being creative.”
Charlotte recently vowed never to return to ‘Geordie Shore’, even though she had fun as the Boss on Australian spin-off series titled, ‘Aussie Shore’.
She told The Sun newspaper in September: “I left ‘Geordie Shore’ and didn’t want to be involved in a show where you live and breathe drama, drunkenness and arguments. I just wasn’t about that anymore.
“When I got offered to be the Boss, I thought it was a great chance to still be involved in what I love and always done, but not be fully involved …
“It was very nostalgic, every single moment I would walk in the house and there would just be mess everywhere, so many good memories would come flooding back, it was so nostalgic the whole way through.”

Judd Apatow worries Hollywood is too ‘intense’

OHMYGOSSIP — Judd Apatow has lamented the lack of “quieter, subtler” and more “human” stories in modern movies.
The 56-year-old filmmaker is concerned that Hollywood is currently driven by a desire for “really intense” stories because studio and streaming bosses are too driven to complete audience viewership and they’re too worried that an intricate tale will lose attention too quickly.
Appearing on Dana Carvey and David Spade’s ‘Superfly’ podcast, he said: “I have a new theory, which is, everything is like in the newspaper business: ‘If it bleeds, it leads.’
“Everything is doomscrolling because they don’t want you to shut anything off, so they’re obsessed with it being really intense. That’s why almost everything on the streamers is either about the biggest star in the world or a serial killer. Everything is a thriller, everything is intense…
“It’s all completion rate. ‘We must have them complete it. We cannot put on a film if anyone shuts it off!’
“There’s an intensity to everything, whether it’s sexy or exciting or terrifying. And I think it changes it so you don’t have quieter, subtler, whatever funny, human things because I think they’re afraid people are gonna shut it off or not go [to theatres]. You lose a lot of good stuff when everything is so wired.”
The ‘Wayne’s World’ actor agreed, and added many film and TV shows these days are also “hypersexual”, citing Nicole Kidman’s recent work.
He added: “I love her shows ’cause they’re just sexy thrillers. She’s in a lot, good for her.”
David noted the pattern can also be seen on TikTok, and expressed a worry that clickbait-type stories which stall for time in order to garner views have increased in popularity because creators are only paid after viewership exceeds a minute.
