Loose Women star Judi Love lands culinary travel show on ITV

OHMYGOSSIP — Judi Love is to host a culinary travel show for ITV.
The 44-year-old comedienne is best known as a panellist on the lunchtime chat show ‘Loose Women’ alongside the likes of Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch and Janet Street-Porter but is “so excited” to celebrate her heritage and culture with ‘Judi Love’s Culinary Cruise’ later this year.
She said: “I am so excited to be setting sail on this new adventure with ITV. Growing up within a Jamaican family, food was always at the heart of any function and occasion.
“So I’m truly excited to experience the culture, people and food of the beautiful Mediterranean.”
As part of the series, the ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star will visit Kotor in Montenegro, plus four locations in Greece – Parga, Kerkira, Kefalonia, and Itea and try out all the local delicacies.
She added: “I’m looking forward to exploring all of the different destinations as food has such a way of telling a story for many, especially in the Mediterranean where it’s about sharing love, traditions and identity.
“I have always loved watching loved ones cook and I truly love serving up a hearty plate of food for my family and friends. So I’m thrilled to be able to embrace this with ITV and the audience at home… I can’t wait to get started.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant worked in social care before carving out her career in standup comedy and joined ‘Loose Women’ after producers spotted a viral video of her on Instagram complaining about a roundabout.
She later recalled believing she could succeed in entertainment after making patients laugh.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she explained: “As much as I see that video now, it takes me back, but it brings me so much joy because [producers] Sally and Tom saw it and thought ‘You connect with other people!’
“I trained as a social worker and there was a time when I was doing some training in a mental health rehabilitation home, people with really serious psychosis.
“We were laughing and I was making jokes, we were all laughing, I remember standing there watching everyone laugh and just taking it in. It makes me emotional, one gentleman turned to me and said ‘Thank you, I forgot about my psychosis’.
“And that was one of the things that pushed me to just try. I’ve been through adversities in life and one of the things that got through it was laughing. It’s about taking those chances. If I never said to myself, ‘Okay, I don’t think this is the place that I’m supposed to be’, then I wouldn’t be here.”

Corrie star Calum Lill announces engagement as co-stars rush to congratulate him

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Calum Lill is engaged.
The actor recently joined the cast of ITV’s flagship soap opera as menacing solicitor Joel Deering following a stint on ‘Hollyoaks’ but announced on Sunday (16.04.24) evening that he and Roberta are now due to be married.
Alongside a snap of himself and his fiancee showing off the ring, wrote on Instagram: “About time I made an honest woman of her!”
In another photo, Calum was seen wearing a bikini as he and his significant other celebrated the moment and he revealed that the costume came coutney of his co-star Dolly-Rose Campbell, who stars as Gemma Winer on the long-running soap.
He added: “Celebrated with drinks in the hot tub but Roberta thought it would be funny to remove my swimming shorts from the suitcase. Thanks @dolly_rose_campbell for lending me your spare cossie. I think I rocked it tbf.”
Several of Calum’s ‘Corrie’ co-stars sent their congratulatory messages in the comments section of his post.
Musical theatre actress Jodie Prenger – who plays barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth – said: “Awwww congrats kidda! How fabulous xxx” whilst Paddy Bever, who won an NTA for his portrayal of schoolboy Max Turner, said: “so pleased for you both! wonderful news x”
Tanisha Gorey – who has played Asha Alahan since childhood – said: “YAYYYY!!!!!! Huge congratulations”, whilst Bethany Platt actress Lucy Fallon and Elle Mulvaney, who stars as Amy Barlow, also sent their well wishes.
Calum recently admitted that he admitted that he was nearly “homeless” during the COVID-19 lockdown as the television industry shut down amid the pandemic.
He told the ‘Me, Myself and Hopefully You…?’ podcast: “Most actors, despite being professional actors, you still have to have a job to do, between jobs. Unless you’re in the top one per cent. It’s a hustle. That’s what a lot of theatre actors struggle with. They love theatre, but it only pays enough to cover your rent while in you’re in the job…You’ve then got to go back to waiting tables.”

Gabriel Woolf returns for Tales of the TARDIS: Pyramids of Mars

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabriel Woolf is returning to ‘Doctor Who’ – nearly 50 years after his last appearance.
The 91-year-old actor is returning to the iconic sci-fi franchise to play the part of Sutekh in an upcoming episode entitled ‘Tales of the TARDIS: Pyramids of Mars’.
Asked how he feels to be reviving the character, Gabriel said: “It felt sort of inevitable in a way.
“I’d never lost Sutekh because of the fans. They’ve kept him alive, organised conventions all over the place, so it feels kind of natural.”
The original episode – which aired in 1975 – has been remastered and will feature Tom Baker and Elisabeth Sladen.
Gabriel is thrilled to be bringing the classic storyline to a whole new audience.
He said: “It’s excellent – they will have the complete backstory of Sutekh so they will know how it all began. Tom and I play off each other and it was dramatic, it was a bit like a play.
“I hope it gives a tremendous added dimension to the excitement for the finale – the fact it’s spread out over cinemas and across the world is wonderful.”
Phil Collinson, the show’s executive producer, is also feeling excited about the upcoming episode.
He said: “Revisiting the rich history of ‘Doctor Who’ is endlessly thrilling and this is no exception. It’s so exciting to bring back ‘Tales of the TARDIS’ again, and to revisit a classic enemy of the Doctor.
“Gabriel Woolf as Sutekh, returning to terrify a whole new generation of children in a blistering season finale is what makes this show so special and appeal to so many across the generations.”
‘Tales of the TARDIS: Pyramids of Mars’ will feature an appearance from Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.
The episode will air on BBC Four and BBC iPlayer on June 20.

Jordan Peele’s new movie gets October 2026 release date

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Peele’s new movie for Universal sets October 23, 2026 release date.
Given the date is around the Halloween holiday (October 31), it suggests the ‘Nope’ filmmaker has another horror flick on the way, although the original release date was December 25, 2024.
Earlier this year, Peele teased that his next film could be his “favourite movie” if he makes it right.
The ‘Get Out’ director’s fourth outing behind the camera was delayed by the Hollywood strikes but he couldn’t wait to get started.
Speaking on the ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ podcast earlier this year, he said: “This has been… obviously, it’s been an interesting year because the writer’s strike had had me in a state of listening, and that’s where I need to be.
“I do feel like my next project is very clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favourite movie if I make it right.”
Peele has helmed the acclaimed horror films ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us’ and revealed that having a “grounded character” in his work is key to the success.
The 45-year-old director and producer said: “Just like the comedy, the heightening, the pushing, the fantastical and the imagination, that becomes a certain type of project and exercise, but the exercise of grounding it is always what makes it work. That to me, in horror especially, is the hardest part.”
Peele also explained why he would rather direct original movies than join money-spinning franchises.
He said: “Nothing is more rewarding than being able to lead the charge on something that comes from somewhere deep and to get the support of a team on something like that.
“I feel like if I were working off of someone else’s property, I would owe something to someone else. Besides that core piece of inspiration, it just doesn’t seem as fun to me… When faced with my very favourite properties, it still doesn’t beat the thing I haven’t written yet or the thing I haven’t figured out.”

Hollyoaks star Jeremy Sheffield admits atmosphere is ‘difficult’ after ‘tough’ changes

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jeremy Sheffield admitted there is a “difficult atmosphere” on set after the reductions in cast, crew, and episodes.
The long-running soap is undergoing major changes behind the scenes – and in front of the camera – with a shift from Channel 4 to E4 and YouTube, 20 castmates being given the boot and the number of episodes being cut from five to three a week.
James told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “Everyone understands why things have to happen.
“But obviously people are losing their jobs, so it’s tough. People are having to rethink their livelihoods.
“There’s a difficult atmosphere. It’s tough for everyone. It’s a big change.”
Those changes mean the cast are feeling the “pressure” when it comes to their performances, because they “want to do as best [they] can” for the sake of the soap.
He explained: “There is pressure. We are making a big change so there is a lot riding on this. You have to be really good.
“You always want to do as best you can for the show and that feels highlighted now.”
The 58-year-old actor has returned to the fold eight years after his previous character Patrick Blake was killed off.
Rather than his alter ego returning from the dead, Jeremy will be returning as Patrick’s brother Jez.
And despite the struggles surrounding the changes, he admitted there is still some excitement around how the show could improve.
He added: “The hope is it’ll be tighter and we’ll be able to delve into storylines in a more complex way. So people are excited about that.”
The show – which moved to a digital first approach last September after moving from Channel 4 to E4 and streaming only – will lose two episodes from September this year, but new executive producer Hannah Cheers is optimistic for the future.
She recently said: “’Hollyoaks’ offers a unique proposition: bold, escapist, relatable, youth-skewing and multi-generational stories, told in its innovative and technicolour signature style.
“The show continues to bring people together by making them feel something, and everything. Approaching its 30th anniversary in 2025, ‘Hollyoaks’ matters just as much now as it did at its trailblazing launch.
“There may be speculation about the future of Continuing Drama, but as someone who was brought up on the nation’s soaps – and remains a true fan – I believe their value must not be underestimated.”

Stephen Fry’s Jeopardy to return for second series

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Fry is reportedly returning to host a second series of ‘Jeopardy!’ for ITV.
The 66-year-old former ‘QI’ host will be back on screens presenting the UK version of the iconic quiz show on weekdays, which, according to The Sun, is set to be recommissioned
The show sees him challenge contestants to win money by phrasing answers as a question.
Stephen previously begged ITV bosses not to dumb down the show.
As quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column, he said: “I was fairly insistent from the outset that we shouldn’t compromise one the standard and or dicker about with the rules and procedures, which are time-honoured and proven.
“Fortunately, ITV and the production company behind the series were in complete agreement. It’s not very different at all.
“The only real difference is that the UK version is a little longer with an extra round.”
There’s plenty of cash up for grabs.
He said: “It builds and builds for as long as the champion stays on. In theory, a really brilliant champion could win hundreds of thousands of pounds or more.”
Before his return to the small screen, Stephen is currently on screen in the film ‘Treasure’ alongside ‘Girls’ creator Lena Dunham.
It sees him play Edek, a Polish Holocaust survivor, reluctantly turning to his homeland with his journalist daughter played by 38-year-old Lena.
Stephen said of the part: “Just occasionally, roles come along that ask for something else, and to have someone like Lena to work with – I fell in love with her straight away.”

James Gunn gives promising update on The Batman 2 script

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn has revealed ‘The Batman Part II’ is still being written.
The co-head of DC Studios has given a promising update on the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022 comic book blockbuster ‘The Batman’, which introduced fans to Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and his Caped Crusader alter ego.
Asked on his Threads account if the sequel script is still in development, Gunn simply replied: “Yes.”
Another fan tried to get some more information out of the studio boss, and wondered when the script – which is once again being penned by filmmaker Matt Reeves – will actually be ready.
Gunn is clearly staying tight lipped about the exact status, but he teased: “When Matt thinks it’s ready!”
Pattinson will reprise his role as The Dark Knight in the upcoming sequel, with Jeffrey Wright set to return as Commissioner Jim Gordon.
There has been a lot of speculation about the new film, with delays due to the WGA and SAG-Aftra strikes in 2023, which scuppered plans to start principal photographer in November last year.
Despite initially being set for an October 2025 release, that launch date has been pushed back by 12 months to 2026, and it’s hoped filming will get underway later this year.
However, fans won’t have to wait quite that long to see more of Reeves’ Gotham City explored on screen.
In September, spin-off series ‘The Penguin’ is set to launch on Max, with Colin Farrell once again playing one of Batman’s most iconic villains after first taking on the role in ‘The Batman’ two years ago.
Farrell recently told MovieZine: “It’s dark, that’s what I can tell you about it. It’s really dark.
“It’s really heavy, I think – it certainly was doing it. Which is not to say I didn’t have fun, I had an amazing time doing it. It’s incredibly violent.”

Love Island star Jack Fowler ‘almost died’ after suffering an allergic reaction on a plane

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Fowler “almost died” after suffering an allergic reaction on a plane.
The 28-year-old reality star – who appeared on the fourth series of ‘Love Island’ in 2018 and then later won ‘Love Island Games’ in 2023 – is allergic to nuts and claimed that he was wrongly reassured that there were no nuts in the curry he had ordered and ended up struggling to breathe.
He wrote on Instagram: “I recently flew with Emirates Airline where I was given a Cashew Nut. I made my flight attendant aware of my nut allergy twice before being given a chicken curry.
“I wasn’t given a menu to chose from, instead I was asked directly if I wanted chicken or fish. I opted for the chicken. When I asked for the chicken I told the air-host that I’m severely allergic to all nuts. I was then told that there was no nuts in the chicken curry. When I received the meal I asked the same flight attendant again to make sure, and again was told that it does not have nuts included.
“Trusting my flight attendant I began to eat the chicken curry. Immediately my throat closed up and breathing became extremely difficult.
“I told a flight attendant I couldn’t breathe and if there was nuts in the food. I was told that there were no nuts in the chicken curry AGAIN. It was only when my friend demanded to see the food menu for the first time did I realise it was a ‘creamy cashew nut chicken curry’.
“This left me with the real possibility of dying on the plane as I knew I needed emergency treatment immediately. I was given five tanks of oxygen, as well as administering my Adrenaline Pen (Epi Pen). I told the flight supervisor ‘If you don’t land this plane soon, I will die on this plane’. This then lead to the pilot speeding up the journey.”
The TV star was rushed to hospital when the plane landed and hit out at all airlines to take the matter more seriously.
He added: “Once we landed I was rushed into Dubai’s airport hospital where I continued treatment.
“What needs to happen for airlines to take food allergies seriously??
“@emirates it is not good enough. I’m lucky to be able to have a platform to make as many people aware of your complete negligence. You are responsible for your passengers and their safety. Giving a passenger food that they’ve stated TWICE will cause extreme harm is unacceptable.”

Sherrie Hewson wants to make a Benidorm movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Sherrie Hewson wants to make a ‘Benidorm’ movie.
The 73-year-old actress spent several years playing Solana hotel manager Joyce Temple-Savage on the ITV1 sitcom – which ended its run in 2018 after 10 series – and she thinks that a feature-length adaptation would be a “wonderful” idea, especially now that the show has found a global audience through Netflix.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain, she said: “10 years on that was just truly wonderful. It’s huge. Absolutely huge [on Netflix]. Everybody in the world watches it now and everybody stops in the street to say they just want it back. It would make a film, I think, and you could bring back everyone who had ever been on ‘Benidorm’ and bring their stories back together.
“I think it would be brilliant and it would be two-and-ahalf hours as opposed to half an hour. [Creator] Deren Litten loves the idea but it’s not for me to say. He’s a brilliant writer and I know he would make the most wonderful film. He’s amazing. And the music makes me smile. In these days that we are living in right now, we need it!”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Loose Women’ panellist first found fame when she played Maureen Holdsworth on ‘Coronation Street’ in the 1990s and insisted that actors on soap operas need more recognition for what they do as she paid tribute to Helen Worth, who recently announced that she will be stepping down from her role as Gail Platt after half a century on the show.
She said: “I always say about soaps…I hate soap actors being called soap actors. They’re not. They’re actors. You take five scripts home on an night and you’ve learned them by the next morning. They are wonderful actors, they deliver the most incredible performances just like that. It’s extraordinary to watch.
“And with Helen [Worth], 50 years as the same character!
“The writing, which I went in was the beginning of ’93, was extraordinary. And you’ve got to keep doing it and doing it and doing it. You’re challenged by it every day and that’s what Helen must have felt.”

Shirley Ballas breaks silence on Giovanni Pernice row after the professional is axed from Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas has hailed Giovanni Pernice as a “true gentleman” following his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ exit.
The 63-year-old star serves as head judge on the BBC Latin and Ballroom competition and after the news that Giovanni,33, will not be part of this year’s professional lineup amid allegations of “threatening and abusive behaviour” towards his former partners, she has described him as a “hard worker” who always tries his best.
She told Best magazine: “I think everybody in the ‘Strictly’ cast is fantastic and I’ve known Giovanni a long,
long time. I’ve known him probably longer than a lot of people have known him and I can only talk from personal experience. He’s got a work ethic that is the same as mine. He works hard and he wants the best for anybody who wants to learn. He’s a true gentleman, and of course, he always looks drop-dead gorgeous.”
Shirley noted that Giovanni is an incredibly considerate person in general who goes out of his way to make someone feel “super-special”.
She added: “He always puts his best foot forward and is always on time, he’s one of those very thoughtful people. He called me the other day to invite my mum to a show he was doing because they love each other. As popular as he is, he will always try and make his way to any fan who wants to see him and will always make them feel super-special.
Earlier this month, the BBC unveiled the list of professionals who will take part in the upcoming series – which is due to air from September – and it included Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.
Giovanni has rejected all the claims made against him and said he “forward to clearing [his] name.”
The dancing champion first took part in the series in 2015, when he and ‘Coronation Street’ actress Georgia May Foote finished as runners up and in 2023, he competed with ‘Sherlock’ star Amanda Abingdon, but their time on the show was short-lived when she left and cited “personal reasons” as the reason behind her early exit.
Immediately after the news broke, Amanda deleted her social media platforms on Instagram and X.

Coronation Street star Calum Lill ‘always watches’ the ITV soap with his TikTok-famous grandma

OHMYGOSSIP — Calum Lill always watches ‘Coronation Street’ with his TikTok-famous grandma.
The actor plays menacing solicitor Joel Deering in the ITV1 soap opera and after a clip of himself and his grandmother Sue went viral on social media when she appeared horrified to realise how his character had “battered” Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) over the head, he explained it was “so special” to have shared that moment with her, especially because she has supported his career from the start.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “My grandma is so funny and I knew she wouldn’t be able to believe it. She’s a working class woman from Manchester; she’s so proud of me, but I knew her reaction would be priceless. We’d [always] watch ‘Coronation Street’ together with a cup of tea and she used to drive me to my acting classes – from the age of 14.
“So to be able to watch this with her and share that moment was really nice and so special.”
In the clip, Sue leaves the room after realising that her “grandson is a killer” and the video has attracted more viewers than ‘Corrie’ itself, having recently surpassed eight million hits.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor also noted that his acting career did not come easily and that it is “fantastic” that he has finally landed such a prominent role after spending more than half of his life trying to make it as an actor.
He said: “We weren’t a family with money. And the classes weren’t cheap, so I’m glad that I can now make all that expense worth it for her.
“I started going to classes and auditioning when I was 14. I’ve spent half of my life trying to be an actor. Now I’m at ‘Coronation Street’ it feels like it’s finally starting to pay off, which is fantastic.”

David Tennant and Naomi Ackie among latest stars to join Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant and Naomi Ackie are amongst the latest actors to sign on to Netflix’s adaptation of ‘The Thursday Club’.
The former ‘Doctor Who’ star, 55, and the ‘Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ actress, 31, will be joining the movie adaptation of Richard Osman’s 2020 crime-comedy novel of the same name.
As well as David and Naomi, Jonathan Pryce (‘The Two Popes’), Daniel Mays (‘Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget’) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (‘Killing Eve’) will also be appearing in the flick, which follows a group of friends that gather in a retirement home to solve murders for fun, only to find they are caught in a real case.
During an appearance on his podcast ‘The Rest Is Entertainment’, Richard said: “There’s some great names and some more names coming as well.
“I think this is the greatest British cast assembled since the [‘Harry Potter’] movies.”
The film – which was previously confirmed to star Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie – is being written and directed by ‘Home Alone’ filmmaker Chris Columbus, with production due to commence later in June.
‘The Thursday Murder Club’ started a hugely successful series of books from Richard that have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide – including ‘The Man Who Died Twice’, ‘The Bullet That Missed’, ‘The Last Devil to Die’ and a planned fifth book which is set to be released next year.
The ‘Pointless’ host previously revealed he had had a desire to write a crime novel for a number of years.
Richard told The Guardian newspaper: “I’ve always known how hard it is to write a crime novel and I have such respect for people who do it. I never felt I was in a position where I could do it properly and give it the time it deserved until about 18 months ago.
“I decided I would start it and once I got going I found that I couldn’t stop. But I decided I wasn’t going to tell anybody because I didn’t want to be that person who goes around saying, ‘Oh yeah, I’m writing a book’, but it never happens.
“When I got to the end I thought, well, there at least I’ve found out that I can do it. But I had no idea what people would make of it.”

Ryan Reynolds would only make Deadpool and Wolverine if Shawn Levy was directing

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds wasn’t going to make ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ without Shawn Levy.
After the 47-year-old actor worked with filmmaker, 55, on ‘Free Guy’ (2021) and ’The Adam Project’ (2022), Ryan decided he would only work on a third Marvel flick – which also stars 55-year-old Hugh Jackman as the iconic mutant superhero – if Shawn was behind the camera.
Speaking to Deadline, the director said: “Hugh, in like 2011, Hugh said, ‘You know, if you ever meet Ryan Reynolds and work with him, you’re never going to stop.’ He said that over a decade ago.
“And it took several years before I met Ryan, but the first time we met to talk about ‘Free Guy’, it was clear that we’d both had successful careers, but we were meeting in the right moment.
“We’re old enough to know a really good thing when we stumble into it and not let go.
“And ‘Free Guy’ led into ‘The Adam Project’. It was on the set of ‘Adam Project’ that Ryan told me he only wanted to do ‘Deadpool’ 3 if I directed it.
“And I remember him going, ‘I know, I know, you’re going to say no’, and I’m like, ’I’m not gonna say no. I’m definitely saying yes!’”
Shawn also admitted he didn’t know that Hugh would be returning as the Wolverine when he first signed on to direct the picture.
He explained: “And that was before I knew we would get the greatest gift imaginable for a Deadpool movie, which is Hugh Jackman saying, ‘I’m in. I want in.’
“And when it became ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, it became a whole different story, and the majesty of the movie, the fun of the movie, the story potential of the movie changed completely.
“Because then it becomes a descendent of the great buddy, at each other’s throats, shoved together through circumstance genre.”

Simon Cowell breaks silence after rumours point to Bruno Tonioli leaving BGT

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has broken his silence amid new claims Bruno Tonioli will be leaving ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 64-year-old entertainment mogul opted to ignore rumours the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ panellist, 68, could be departing the ITV contest show, and instead announced he had joined TikTok.
In a short video posted to Instagram, Simon said: “Hello everyone. I am now officially on TikTok. But I’m not going to dance or sing”, and promptly posted a link to the audition form for his new boyband, which comes almost 15 years after he launched One Direction to global fame.
His comments come just after industry insiders claimed ITV bosses were considering booting Bruno off ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ because filming for the show would clash with his ‘US Dancing With The Stars’ stint.
However, the source added Simon may insist the choreographer should stay.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: “Nobody else has been agreed upon or approached as a replacement, currently the question is just — do we keep Bruno at all?
“There is much discussion going on. It’s nothing sinister, but maybe a change would be better.
“But Simon Cowell might insist he stays.”
Speculation about Bruno’s future on the programme began earlier this month – with sources claiming Alan Carr was being lined up to replace him – but Simon dismissed the rumours as nothing but hearsay.
During an appearance on Heart Radio, he said: “I don’t know where all this stuff comes from. I spoke to the producers literally two weeks ago about there [being] a scheduling issue with Bruno.
“Because we’re doing the auditions – some of the auditions – this year and he’s going to be in America. So maybe there’ll be a stand-in for him. I don’t know. But I love Bruno on the show. I think he’s brilliant.”
Fellow ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Amanda Holden agreed, and added: “He knows so much about what he’s talking about. And actually, he’s a brilliant, brilliant judge and the nicest person. So no, I would not replace him. He’s coming back.”

This Morning’s Cat Deeley issues apology over ‘seizure’ comment

OHMYGOSSIP — Cat Deeley has apologised for joking that she was “having a seizure” live on air.
The 47-year-old presenter currently hosts ‘This Morning’ with Ben Shephard and on Monday’s (17.06.24) edition of the ITV1 magazine show, the pair were dancing around the studio as they prepared to interview pop singer Meghan Trainor when she likened her own dodgy moves to that of an epileptic fit.
Speaking on Tuesday’s episode, she said: “First of all, I just wanted to apologise to anyone who was offended yesterday when I made a light-hearted comment about my dancing style.
“It really wasn’t supposed to cause any upset to anybody. But I can see why that might have been the case. So I do apologise, I’m very sorry .”
Her co-star noted that it “never would have been their intention” to offend anyone, and former ‘SMTV’ presenter Cat insisted that the joke “didn’t come from that place at all”.
Shortly after Cat made the controversial comment, the Epilepsy Society shared a clip of the moment onto X and reached out to her directly via the social media site to remind her that seizures are “no laughing matter” and others to “educate themselves” on the neurological condition, which causes sudden bursts of electrical activity in the brain.
They wrote on X: “Seizures are no laughing matter for people with #epilepsy
@catdeeley.
“Please do better and educated yourselves about this difficult and poorly understood condition.”
Meanwhile, the charity’s chief executive Clare Pelham insisted that the organisation did not want to “become the thought police” over the incident and was sure the TV star did not mean to cause any harm with her joke, but hoped that she would spend some time issuing an apology on air.
She said: “At the Epilepsy Society we do not wish to become some sort of grim ‘thought police’ patrolling the borders of acceptable language.
“We understand that all of us – even professional broadcasters – make impromptu remarks that we regret. And we are sure that Cat did not intend to be unkind.
“But one of the biggest challenges that the 1 in 100 people with epilepsy face is everyday stigma. People literally walking by on the other side of the road when they see us having a seizure. Or worse, sometimes shouting abuse.
“We would love to see Cat make amends by taking 3 minutes to explain seizure first aid to This Morning viewers. It’s really simple: Calm, Cushion, Call. Now that would be something to dance about!”
