Coleen Rooney may be exempt from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! trials for for this reason

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Rooney could avoid many ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ trials
The 38-year-old star – who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney – is said to have inked a deal to star on the ITV1 jungle reality show amid her long-running feud with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy but because she suffers from stress-induced reactive arthritis that affects the joint, it is thought that she could be exempt from several of the series’ gruelling tasks.
A source told The Sun newsaper’s TVBiz column: “The duty of care on ‘I’m A Celeb is second to none and over the years, the cast have been ruled out of challenges for a string of different reasons.
“Some might have seemed trivial to viewers, but the health and happiness of the celebs is of the execs’ utmost concern.
“Coleen’s reactive arthritis being triggered by stress means execs want to wrap her in cotton wool and keep her happy and healthy.”
According to the NHS, reactive arthritis causes inflammation in many body joints – especially the knees, feet toes, hips and ankles – and it can clear up within a few months and causes no long-term problems.
Another source told the outlet: “The condition is currently under control so at this stage it’s a ‘could be’ ruled out rather than a ‘will be’.
“But her physical health will be monitored and, if she suffers a flare-up, her ability to perform each trial will be considered on a case-by-case basis.”
Coleen opened up about her bouts with the condition, which she says was brought on more by the Rebekah, 42, libel case.
Speaking on Disney+’s ‘The Real Wagatha Christie’, she said: “He [Wayne] just looked at me and said: ‘Coleen, you’re just not you any more, you just look sick.’
Coleen later added: “It caused anxiety and there were lots of tears.
“I have reactive arthritis. I’ve had it previously, but this situation brought it on a lot more.
“It stripped me of my character, and I didn’t want to socialise with people.
“I was completely in my own world. It was not a nice place to be.”
Coleen was unsuccessfully sued by Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, 42, after she named her Instagram account as the source of leaks to the press and Rebekah was ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal costs – but the bill is being contested over claims it has been inflated by items including fancy dinners and stays in swanky hotels.
Rebekah was an approved follower of Coleen’s private Instagram page and Mrs Rooney was dubbed Wagatha Christie for her social media sleuthing, a reference to the legendary mystery author Agatha Christie.
‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ starts on Sunday, November 17, on ITV1 and ITVX.

Call the Midwife star Jenny Agutter reveals secret health battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny Agutter has been on a health kick.
The 71-year-old actress – who is best known for starring as Sister Julienne in the BBC period drama ‘Call the Midwife’ – had been asked by her doctor if she wanted to take prescription drugs to help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease but decided that she wanted to deal with the issue herself by switching up her diet.
She told Woman’s Weekly: “The surgery said, ‘Do you want to come in and discuss taking statins?’ I said, ‘No, I’d rather watch my diet.’ I really enjoy cooking and trying new things, so that’s a bonus.
“So the creams, butters, sugars, meats and saturated fat can go, and I’m replacing them with healthy oils and beans, and more veggies and fruit. I’ve rediscovered cuisine minceur, a light version of French haute cuisine that I used to know about when I lived in the States in the 1970s and 80s.”
Meanwhile, Jenny will be back on screen in her signature role over the festive period but recalled filming the special episodes earlier this year so the crew had to create their own snow in the middle of spring.
She said: “The crew created a snow flurry outside Nonnatus House and there we all were, late at night, singing Christmas carols. Despite it being April, we weren’t hot. Just the idea and sight of something so like snow made us feel quite cold!”
The BBC period medical drama – which follows the lives of antenatal staff in the 1950s and 1960s – traditionally airs a 90-minute special over the festive period but will now broadcast two hour-long episodes instead.
Heidi Thomas OBE, the show’s creator and writer, said: “Who doesn’t love finding an extra, unexpected present underneath the Christmas tree?
“When I was asked to write a two-part Christmas special for 2024, I couldn’t resist!”

Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick to direct and star in Family Movie with kids Travis and Sosie

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are set to direct and star in ‘Family Movie’ alongside their children Travis and Sosie Bacon.
The couple – who have Travis, 35 and 32-year-old Sosie – will helm the upcoming horror-comedy both in front of and behind the camera, while all four of the Bacons produce for Mixed Breed Films with Dark Castle Entertainment’s Norman Golightly.
The movie – which is being penned by ‘Premature’ writer Dan Beers – will follow a tight-knit family of moviemakers who suddenly find themselves in a real-life horror film when a body appears on the set of their low-budget slasher.
As the production continues to spiral out of control, the family realises the only way to save their project is to cover up the murder at all costs.
In a statement, Dark Castle’s Golightly said: “There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons.
“We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.”
Kevin, 66, could last be seen in ‘Beverley Hills Cop: Axel F’, where he starred opposite Eddie Murphy as the villainous Captain Cade Grant.
The ‘Footloose’ icon previously said he had ticked off a “bucket list” wish by working with Eddie.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine,, Kevin said: “Our paths never crossed in the ‘80s. We never worked together. I don’t remember even having met him – I’m sure we probably did, but I don’t remember.”
Bacon added he was impressed with the ‘Coming to America’ star’s natural knack for comedy, and admitted he often couldn’t contain his laughter on set.
He noted: “Eddie is somebody who is a very relaxed and loose and present actor. He comes in and famously does a lot of improvising.
“But when he improvises, there’s improvisation where you can really feel that the improviser is trying to go for a laugh.
“I never saw him trying to be funny either on camera or off camera, and he’s still hilarious. To the point where sometimes I was about to lose it just because he would look at me.”

Michael Jackson biopic delayed by six months

OHMYGOSSIP — The Michael Jackson biopic ‘Michael’ has been pushed back by six months.
The movie – which stars the ‘King of Pop’s nephew Jaafar Jackson as the legendary singer – was initially slated to hit cinemas in April of next year, but Lionsgate has now confirmed it is moving the film to October.
‘Michael’ is being helmed by ‘The Equalizer’ director Antoine Fuqua and produced by ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’s Graham King alongside the co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson John Branca and John McClain.
Previously, Fuqua teased the picture would include “the good, bad and the ugly” parts of the ‘Thriller’ chart-topper’s life and career.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Fuqua said: “Just to tell the facts as we know it, about the artist, about the man, about the human being. You know, the good, bad and the ugly.”
The 59-year-old director added he was “blown away” by how much Jaafar – the son of Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson – was able to channel his uncle, especially his dancing and singing.
‘The Magnificent Seven’ filmmaker said: “It’s uncanny how much he’s like Michael. Sounds like him, dances like him, sings. It’s really uncanny.
“Graham King, who is a fantastic producer, found him, and introduced him to me, and I was blown away.”
The last update about ‘Michael’ came in February when it was revealed all the members of the Jackson 5 had been cast.
Lionsgate and Universal Pictures announced eight actors will portray the ‘ABC’ hitmakers – Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie – at various stages of their lives in the movie, with Jamal R. Henderson and Jayden Harville starring as the older and younger versions of Jermaine, Tre Horton and Jaylen Lyndon Hunger due to portray Marlon, Rhyan Hill and Judah Edwards will play Tito, and Joseph David-Jones and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre will star as Jackie.
Producer King said at the time: “The truly epic nature of this film required a total of 10 actors with the talent to portray the Jackson 5 through the years.
“I’m thrilled to bring this extraordinary group of actors and performers to worldwide audiences in this film.”

EastEnders’ Shane Richie discussed having cancer test days before his character was diagnosed

OHMYGOSSIP — Shane Richie had enquired about a test for prostate cancer just days before learning his ‘EastEnders’ character would be diagnosed with the disease.
The 60-year-old actor has played Alfie Moon on the BBC One soap opera on and off since 2002 and jumped at the chance to play such a storyline but revealed that he sought advice himself about a test for the illness before he even knew the fate of his alter-ego.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “I got called up from Chris Clenshaw, our producer, and he said they were going to do a storyline with Alfie. I said ‘Of course, what a great story to play’, but it reminded me how old I am.
“The week before, I’d gone to see my GP about having a test done for prostate cancer.
“We did that one scene in the Queen Vic where Alfie unfortunately wets himself, and I remember sitting down with the story producer where I asked if we could play that. Sadly, it happened to a friend of mine at a golf club.
“And so, we got a chance to play that. It was really interesting, the reaction that we got, not just from social media, but emails coming in thanking us for doing the storyline. ”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestant then went for another checkup and his GP told him that the storyline had caused an “influx” of men booking tests and he believes that even saving one person’s life will make the whole thing worthwhile.
He said: “It was about three months ago I had to go see my GP for a checkup. He doesn’t really watch the show but he said ‘I understand your character has done a storyline on prostate cancer because we’ve had an influx of men coming in to get checked because of what you did on the show’. So if we save one person’s life, then we have done great!”

Emily Atack issues ‘rape’ warning to men who have drunken sex and recalls ‘awful’ past encounters

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack has warned men that drunken sexual encounters could be seen as “rape”.
The 34-year-old actress is backing the Affirmative Consent campaign to change the law on informed confirmation of consent and recalled the “awful” experiences she had as a teenager as she explained that men will now be “scared” of their encounters with women under the influence of alcohol because of the way they could be viewed now.
Speaking on the ‘Great Company with Jamie Laing’ podcast, she said: “My situations have only been uncomfortable – yeah, literally. Honestly, I can only count on one hand probably where I’ve actually enjoyed sex. Growing up, I’m sorry, as a teenager it was awful.
“I went through life thinking if you wake up after a night out and something has happened but you don’t really remember it, you just have to suck it up and get on with it. It’s like there’s no way anyone’s going to….it’s just not worth going down that road of ‘but I don’t remember, I don’t remember any of that.
“Yeah, you do, but it’s been so repressed for so long, we were taught for such a long time that that was kind of a normal way to have sex – that you wake up after a party and go ‘Ooh, Jesus Christ, I don’t really remember that, anyway.’ And then you just kind of carry on.
“We’re taught that that was like normal.
“The problem is now Now we’re all having the conversation more, people are coming out and going ‘Oh right, well, I was raped then.’ And it’s very difficult to have to admit it to you. But also the reason why it’s difficult as well for the men, men are getting angry because they’re scared, because so many men will listen to this sort of thing and go ‘I’ve done that before’.”
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ star acknowledged that some men may now “regret” their behaviour and noted that it can be “difficult” for them to even consider what they may have done in the past.
She added: “There’ll be men that are getting their kids uniform ready for school and they will listen to something like this and stop in their tracks and go ‘Oh f***, I’ve done that before.’ And they probably regret it and feel really terrible about it, but to be told now that that was wrong, and that actually that’s now seen as rape, that’s hard for people to digest because they know that they’ve done that somewhere in their lives a lot of people, loads of people.”
“That’s why it’s so difficult to go there.”

The Chase star Anne Hegerty reveals ‘terrible confession’ about fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty “really wanted” to be famous.
The 66-year-old quizzer is best known for her long-running role on the ITV1 teatime game show ‘The Chase’ and admitted that she had thought about the fame that would come with suddenly landing a public job in her fifties and joked that she was “slightly irritated” that the recognition was not completely instantaneous.
Speaking on ‘The Lewis Nicholls Show, she said: “I have a terrible confession to make – yes I did [consider it]. And I really wanted that. I was slightly irritated that it had taken so long to arrive. Not that ‘The Chase’ had taken so long to come along, but very, from the start it quickly got three million a day and kind of stayed there. I was irritated at the lack of recognition. The press did not pick up on us until about 2015 or so. It was like nobody wanted to admit that we existed.
In the years since she joined the likes of Mark Labbett and Shaun Wallace on the show – which sees teams of four go head-to-head against a Chaser in an attempt to win thousands – Anne has become a regular face in pantomime across the Christmas season and competed on the 2018 series of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’.
Prior to finding fame, Anne worked as a freelance writer, proofreader and reporter but always knew that there was “something else” there for her and wanted fame, but wasn’t entirely sure how she was going to achieve it.
She said: “All my life, I said to myself that it was just a substitute for something else. I thought I just wanted friends or something like that but now I have fame, I’m like ‘Nah, it was this.’ It wasn’t wanting friends.
“I don’t know how to explain it but I just like the whole vibe of people know who I am, they sort of give me space but breathlessly fangirl as well.
” must have a horribly bloated ego! I always wanted it. Part of me was like ‘Yes of course this will happen one day, darlings’ but then part of me was like ‘How?’

Hugh Bonneville praises Paddington in Peru director Dougal Wilson

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Bonneville has said making ‘Paddington in Peru’ “felt very different” thanks to the new director Dougal Wilson.
The 53-year-old filmmaker took over the franchise from Paul King for the upcoming movie, and while the experience of making a new ‘Paddington’ film was not the same as before due to the new director, the ‘Downton Abbey’ star, 60, insisted Wilson was able to incorporate some “gloriously fresh” ideas into the series while remaining faithful to what had come before .
During an interview with Digital Spy, Bonneville said: “It felt very different, particularly with Dougal’s nerves bless him because he said, ‘How am I ever going to match what Paul created’, but he has.
“He’s not only stepped into those very big shoes but he’s filled them beautifully and added his own flavours and tone. There’s some visual ideas in it, which are gloriously fresh.”
The movie follows on from the events of 2017’s ‘Paddington 2’, where the lovable bear travels to South America in an effort to find his Aunt Lucy.
As Wilson was trying to stay faithful to the first two movies, the filmmaker stressed he was not thinking about “putting [his] stamp” on the franchise by veering away from what was established in King’s previous efforts.
He explained: “It was a terrifying prospect to try and live up to the first two films because they are held in such high regard, and I’ve certainly tried my hardest.
“There was many things about the first two films that I absolutely loved, including Paul’s visual ingenuity and the tone and the different layers you can enjoy the film at. So I was just trying to continue in that vein and what you see is what emerged.”
Bonneville returns alongside Ben Whishaw, Samuel Joslin, Madeleine Harris and Julie Waters, while the flick also welcomes newcomers Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas and Emily Brown – who is taking over the role as Mrs. Brown from Sally Hawkins.

New horror instalment Orphan 3 announced

OHMYGOSSIP — A third ‘Orphan’ film has officially been greenlit at Lionsgate.
The studio confirmed the horror franchise will be receiving another entry, with Isabella Fuhrman, 27, set to reprise her role as Esther – who is actually escaped Estonian psychiatric patient Leena Klammer, a 31-year-old woman with a rare hormonal disorder that gives her the appearance of a 10-year-old child – while director William Brent Bell and ‘Orphan: First Kill’ writer David Coggeshall also due to return for the upcoming movie.
While plot details and a release date are yet to be announced, Lionsgate also confirmed Dark Caste Entertainment would be producing the picture.
In a statement, Dark Castle co-CEO Norman Golightly said: “Dark Castle is excited to announce another terrifying chapter in the ‘Orphan’ saga.
“With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that ‘Orphan 3’ will be a must-see movie for both current fans of the franchise, and new fans alike.”
After debuting in 2009, the series went on hiatus until the prequel ‘Orphan: First Kill’ was released 13 years later.
Previously, Fuhrman said she loved playing the disturbed Esther in the first film, and was pleasantly surprised to be asked back for the 2022 prequel given she had aged out of the role.
The ‘Horizon: An American Saga’ actress told Variety: “It was actually Brent who put his foot down and was like, ‘I’m only doing it if Isabel is Esther.’
“He forced the studio to do a camera test with me where I was standing on my knees and they put my hair in pigtails and it was the weirdest day because it was like height of COVID and I hadn’t been on a set since COVID, and I didn’t know who I was working with. But obviously, it worked.”
Fuhrman added she was shocked by the plot twist in ‘First Kill’, where it is revealed that the real Ester had died, and a young woman Leena – who had a rare disorder that stunted her physical growth – had replaced her in her foster family.
The actress said: “I loved the twist because this is something that everybody expects when they see a sequel or a prequel, for it to rehash exactly what you knew about the last one.. And all of a sudden, it just flips everything on its head.”

Sir Steve McQueen could be about to direct a 007 film

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Steve McQueen could be about to direct a ‘007’ film.
The 55-year-old moviemaker enjoyed Oscar-winning success with ’12 Years A Slave’ and is currently promoting his new film ‘Blitz’ but insiders have claimed that Eon Productions are keen for him to take the reins on an instalment of their ‘James Bond’ spy franchise,
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Steve is one of the UK’s best filmmakers and has an incredible vision.
“The word is that the Bond producers wanted to see if Steve would ever consider having a hand in one of the films and they got a positive response.
“It would be incredible if it came off.”
Little is known about the future of the spy franchise, but following the departure of Daniel Craig – who had played the leading role for nearly 15 years – Aaron Taylor-Johnson was heavily rumoured to be stepping into his shoes.
Shortly afterwards, Hollywood director David Leitch spoke of his hopes that he would be able to make the film and praised the supposed casting.
David told CinemaBlend.com: “He would be an amazing James Bond. I’ll just go on the record like, I’ve never gotten to do enough action with Aaron, which is crazy.
“We’ve done ‘Bullet Train’ and now, we’ve done ‘The Fall Guy’. What I really want to do is an action movie with him, because he’s such an incredible athlete. Like Aaron is awesome.
“So, maybe we’ll get that opportunity soon, and I’ll get to direct Bond.”
It was reported earlier this year that Eon Productions – the company behind the franchise – had contacted Aaron with a formal offer for the part and ex-Bond Pierce Brosnan gave his seal of approval to the potential casting.
During an appearance on ‘The Ray D’Arcy Show’ on RTE Radio 1, Pierce said: “I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so.”

Robert Pattinson’s movie Mickey 17 delayed again

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Pattinson’s new movie ‘Mickey 17’ has been delayed again.
‘Parasite’ director’s Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming sci-fi flick has shifted three months from its January 31, 2025, release date to April 18, 2025.
The new date means fans can now enjoy the film in IMAX.
A Warner Bros. spokesperson told Variety: “When the April 18 date became available, we quickly moved to secure it for ‘Mickey 17′.
“We’re thrilled with the new date, and very happy the film will be available to audiences in IMAX.”
However, it’s not the first time it’s been pushed back as it was originally slated for release on March 29, 2024.
The reason for the delay was due to production challenges related to last year’s SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
The movie is inspired by Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel ‘Mickey7’ and follows Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) who is a disposable employee, known as an “expendable”, on an expedition to colonise the ice planet Niflheim. If Mickey dies a new body is regenerated with the majority of his memories intact.
The synopsis reads: “Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous — even suicidal — the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.
“Mickey understands the terms of his deal… and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.”
The star-studded cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

Alan Carr’s Changing Ends renewed for two more series

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr’s ‘Changing Ends’ sitcom is getting two more series.
The 48-year-old funnyman is beyond delighted that his autobiographical show has been renewed by ITV after being streamed a whopping 13 million times on ITVX.
Alan said: “To get your own sitcom recommissioned for a series is the most wonderful news ever, but to have TWO series recommissioned is utterly mind-blowing and such a huge compliment, which I do not take lightly.
“I know how much this show has resonated with viewers and I promise I won’t let you down — and for someone whose actual life at times feels like a sitcom, believe me there are more tales to be told.
“Two series commissioned, eh?
“My dream of Changing Ends becoming Northampton’s answer to The Crown is two steps closer to being a reality.”
The series sees Oliver Savell, 14, portray a young version of the chatty comic.
The series follows Alan growing up in Northampton during the 1980s as the son of a professional football manager. After the positive response to the first series in 2023, a second aired in July this year.
A source told The Sun’s TV Biz column: “Changing Ends launched exclusively on ITVX and then headed to terrestrial telly six months later, so built incredible pace and its final viewing figures were impressive.
“ITV greenlit series two before the first had even landed on the main channel, so it’s not surprising to hear a third was under way.
“But landing a fourth commission is a real feat.”
The former ‘Chatty Man’ host recently admitted he has enough stories to continue the show for a further eight series, but he is worried how much puberty will affect Oliver.
He told the newspaper: “Ollie is amazing and he just gets better. But of course, the elephant in the room was that we were wondering how tall he would have got and how much his voice had dropped – you have to be able to hit those high notes when you play Alan Carr, I’m like Mariah Carey!
“But he’s just so professional and funny. Even though he was a little bit taller for Series Two, he’s still just as talented and wonderful in the role as he was in the first series. If we get recommissioned I might have to do a time jump for series three!
“Honestly, the stuff that happens to me on a daily basis means I’ve still got enough stories up my sleeve to take us through to series nine if we ever get that far!”

TOWIE’s Sam Faiers is considering having a fourth child: ‘It’s hard to say no…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Faiers is considering having a fourth child.
The 33-year-old reality star already has Paul Jr., eight, Rosie, five, and two-year-old Edward with her partner Paul Knightley and noted that the pair of them have “always wanted a big family” so despite the pitfalls of bringing up a baby, she would struggle to say no the idea of another one.
She told OK! Magazine: “Paul and I always wanted a big family. However, I was getting my routine back with some breathing space. It was almost a shock [having a third]. I think I got used to being like, ‘Oh, right, I can do this now they’re at school in the daytime and I can work out my week.’ But Edward’s never been a great sleeper. Even last night he had me up two or three times.
“Do you know what, it’s hard to say no [to the idea of having another].
“I’m such a maternal person and I love babies, and even now Edward is coming up to two and a half, I say to Paul, ‘Why is it all so sad?’”
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star has ultimately ruled out the idea of having another one right at this current time because she is “busy” at the moment, so it is not exactly the right time.
She said: “Being a parent you have all these highs and lows, and now I’m looking at him and he’s such a character. But he’s not a baby anymore. So I don’t know. I’m not going to say no. I am maternal, but I’m busy at the moment, so I don’t know about it right now.”

Piglets back for second series on ITV despite critical panning

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Piglets’ is returning for a second series on ITV despite being panned by critics.
The police comedy first aired in July and star Ricky Champ has expressed his surprise at the show being recommissioned as it received poor reviews.
He told the ‘Reading Between The Lines’ podcast: “‘Piglets’ has been commissioned for series two.
“It’s crazy, because we got absolutely slammed. The first series came out and it was met with absolute venom – across the board.
“Immediately, I thought, ‘That’s that done’. But it got good figures and ITV obviously noticed that.”
ITV are yet to confirm the return of the show – which also stars Sarah Parish and Mark Heap.
The programme about trainee cops was also criticised by a police body for its “highly offensive” title that references the derogatory nickname “pigs” used against officers.
Tiffany Lynch, the acting national chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales, said earlier this year: “It is a disgusting choice of language to use for the title of a TV programme.
“I find it incredulous that this has been passed through checks and balances at an organisation made up of people who at any time have or may need the support and assistance of the police.”
She added: “We should not be put at further risk for viewing numbers, our officers deserve respect, not humiliation for the job they are undertaking.
“It is incredibly dangerous to incite more negativity and misinformation against a public sector service that’s already under so much pressure.”
ITV said in response to the criticism: “‘Piglets’ is a fictional new comedy about a police training academy and the title is not intended to cause any offence, it’s a comedic and endearing play on words to emphasise the innocence and youth of our young trainees.”

Linda Nolan ‘heartbroken’ over Amy Dowden’s Strictly exit as she opens up on her own cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Nolan has been left “heartbroken” over Amy Dowden’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ exit.
The 34-year-old dancer had to pull out of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition early after sustaining a foot injury and last year had to miss the show completely as she battled breast cancer and now singer Linda, 65, – who is suffering from a terminal form of the disease – has admitted that she can relate to her because sometimes things are just “not fair”.
Writing in her column for the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “Just sometimes, there’s no way around it: life sucks. Cancer sucks.
“I say this because of how heartbreaking it was to see the ‘Strictly’ dancer Amy Dowden stand in tears among the cheering and clapping on Claudia’s balcony during Saturday night’s show.
“She had been forced to step down after falling ill the weekend before, and had just watched her celebrity partner JB Gill, and Lauren Oakley, the professional dancer standing in for her, get mega scores for a dance she helped choreograph.
“I watched her eyes dissolve despite all her best efforts to keep in place that fixed, showbiz smile I know only too well, and felt her disappointment and frustration. I’ve felt the same so many times. Behind the smile you’re thinking: It’s not fair.”
Amy had been partnered with JLS singer JB Gill on the competition, but he will now dance with Lauren Oakley for the remainder of his time on the show.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 before getting the all-clear a year later, but in 2017, the disease had spread to her brain, bones and liver.
She noted that she just wants to be back to her “old self” again but knows that is not a possibility sp is just trying to embrace the “smallest joys” that life has to offer.
She said: “You want to be back to the old you again, but physically, and more lastingly, emotionally, you’re never going to be that ‘you’ again. Life can be good again, but it’s never going to be the same.
“But, and I have to force myself to remember this, too, some things change for the better. The empathy you learn, and the ability to appreciate the smallest joys – that’s new, and I wouldn’t be without it.”
