Jena Malone wants to star in another Hunger Games film

OHMYGOSSIP — Jena Malone would love to make another ‘Hunger Games’ movie.
The 39-year-old actress played Johanna Mason in three ‘Hunger Games’ films, and Jena has revealed that she would relish the opportunity to reprise the role.
Asked about the possibility of another ‘Hunger Games’ movie being made, Jena told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Come on, where’s Johanna Mason? I’m like, I’m just waiting.”
Jena starred alongside the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson in the original films.
And the actress would now love to star in a spin-off movie.
Asked about the prospect of making another ‘Hunger Games’ movie, Jena replied: “I mean, and let’s not even do a prequel, let’s do an after … Let’s see what happens in the world, you know, ten years later.”
Earlier this month, it was announced that ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ will be released in November 2026.
Lionsgate chair Adam Fogelson teased details of the new movie, describing author Suzanne Collins as a “creative north star” for the film franchise.
He said in a statement: “We couldn’t be more fortunate than to be guided and trusted by a collaborator whose talent and imagination are so consistently brilliant.
“We know ‘Hunger Games’ fans worldwide will be spellbound by where Suzanne has focused this next extraordinary story. ‘The Second Quarter Quell’ is legendary and looms large over the history of the Games, even into the time of Katniss Everdeen a quarter-century later.
“Like fans around the globe, we are eagerly anticipating this exciting return to Panem.”
The announcement was also made via ‘The Hunger Games’ account on X.
A message read: “Welcome to the Second Quarter Quell.
“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping – in theaters November 20, 2026. (sic)”

Rylan Clark likens his breakdown to ‘a really bad stroke’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark suffered stroke-like symptoms during his mental breakdown.
The 35-year-old TV star claims to have lost his vision and his hearing following his split from ex-husband Dan Neal in 2021.
Rylan – who has now returned to full health – said on the ‘Great Company with Jamie Laing’ podcast: “I lost my speech. I lost my vision for a little bit like it was all really just … it was like having a really bad stroke. It was just so bizarre. And yeah, it took me months to go back to work.
“I think I was off for like four or five months. And I rarely would have like, four hours off, let alone f****** four months.
“So yeah, it was I mean … I needed to do it. And I need to start again. And I needed to reset myself.
“But the only regret I’ve got from that is that I wish I’d never stopped and I’ve just dealt with it in a different way. But I didn’t. And then it was out of my control.”
Rylan moved in with his mum as his health issues began to spiral.
The TV star also recalled thinking that he was “crazy” and that he “couldn’t be trusted”.
Rylan – who was married to Dan between 2015 and 2021 – explained: “I thought I was crazy. Well, I was, because the only explanation is going to be. I’ve lost my mind. So when you stop believing something, you become it. So I was like, ‘Well, clearly, I’m mad. Clearly, I’m unwell. Clearly, I’m not right.’
“I was living with my mum at the time because I didn’t want to be in my own house. I didn’t want to do nothing. I couldn’t be trusted to be perfectly honest. Yeah, it was bad. I just have to be honest.”

Shirley Ballas insists ‘the show must go on’ amid Giovanni Pernice scandal

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas declared “the show must go on” without scandal-hit Giovanni Pernice.
The head judge of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show insists this year’s series will be “brilliant” despite the 33-year-old Italian – who was popular with viewers – not taking part amid allegations of “threatening and abusive behaviour” towards his former partners on the show
Speaking to The Sun at the TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House in London on Tuesday (25.06.24), she said: “You know what the show goes on…
“It will go on. It’s a brilliant series this year – all the boys and girls will be getting ready with all their different numbers.”
Amid fears fans of Giovanni will abandon the show, she insisted: “Everyone has a choice what they want to do.”
Bosses are said to have put a ban on public discussions of the controversy, due to fears it could overshadow the 20th anniversary, but professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, 28, stood up for her friend and colleague.
She told the outlet at the ceremony: “We’re sad about losing Giovanni – we are a big family at the end of the day, so we just want to continue being that family and supporting each other.
“Of course sometimes unfortunate situations happen.”
One professional dancer recently told The Sun: “I’m not allowed to comment. We’ve been told not to talk about it until the official ‘Strictly’ statement.”
A source added: “When [the] claims first came to light no one could have foreseen the drama would still be raging so ferociously six months later.
“We’re just a few weeks away from the 2024 cast reveal and bosses are worried the scandal is now dangerously close to overshadowing the new series.
“A lot of work has gone into it as it’s the 20th anniversary, and now — still — all anyone talks about is Giovanni.
“Bosses hope gagging the cast will help.
“It will require some fancy footwork, but the cast have all been trained on how to handle questioning and politely sidestep difficult topics.”
Shirley, 63, already defended Giovanni.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He has always been to me, and I will make that clear, to me, a perfect gentleman.
“My feeling for Giovanni is, let them do this investigation or whatever it is they are doing, and the truth will come out.
“I have never ever, ever experienced any ill will or bad feeling or bad sportsmanship or rudeness from him.”
Shirley admitted she can only reflect on her “own perspective”, and she refused to pass judgement until she knows “100 percent it is true”.
She said: “You know, I can only talk from my own perspective. I have known Giovanni for 10 years. I know he is a hard worker. He wants the people to do the very best that they can do.
“Obviously in my life I was bullied a lot. I don’t condone bullying on any path but also, I don’t believe gossip because things get escalated and they are blown way out of all proportion and it can turn into a great big snowball.
“So we don’t judge anybody until I know absolutely 100 percent. I won’t pass on the gossip unless I know 100 percent it is true. He will be missed.”
Giovanni has denied all allegations.

Eddie Murphy feared Beverly Hills Cop III would flop

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Murphy thought ‘Beverly Hills Cop III’ was destined to flop after he read the script.
The 63-year-old actor considers the 1994 action-comedy film to be the weakest one in the franchise, and Eddie has now revealed that he actually feared for the movie before it was even released.
He told ScreenRant: “This is when you can tell a movie’s not going to work: when you have one of those lines that you’ve seen millions [of times] and hundreds of thousands of movies have said this line.
“There was one scene where I had Uncle Dave in the back, and he was dying. I was driving, and I said, ‘Don’t you die on me, man!’ How many times have you seen that in a movie? When somebody’s dying, ‘Don’t you die on me!’
“If you in a movie, and you scream, ‘Don’t you die on me,’ that means the movie’s not going to work!”
Meanwhile, Eddie recently suggested that ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ marked a turning point for the movie business.
The actor played Axel Foley, a street-smart detective, in the 1984 action comedy film, and Eddie believes the movie was a landmark moment for Hollywood.
Speaking to ‘Extra’, Eddie explained: “Before ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, there had never been a movie that starred a black man, black person, that was successful all around the world. Even still, to this day, when black folks, we, make movies, most of the time they work in the States and outside of the country they don’t work.”
Eddie also suggested that his success has paved the way for the likes of Will Smith and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
He said: “‘Beverly Hills Cop’ started it, all around the world – that’s where you get Will and The Rock, they do it now, but ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ is the first one that did it.”

‘We’re gonna try’: Jeremy Allen White plans to sing in Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Allen White intends to do his own singing in the Bruce Springsteen biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’.
The 33-year-old actor will play The Boss in the biopic about the making of the rock icon’s 1982 album ‘Nebraska’ and is planning to do his own vocal performances in the picture.
Asked about singing at the premiere of season three of ‘The Bear’ on Tuesday (25.06.24), Jeremy said: “We’re gonna try. We’re gonna try our best.”
Jeremy also revealed that he is yet to meet Springsteen and wants to go through his own “process” before spending time with the ‘Born To Run’ hitmaker.
He said: “We’ve communicated a little bit through some other people, but I hope this still all comes together.
“We’ve still got a few things, we’ve got some timing stuff to work out, and I’m trying to have a bit of my own process with it before meeting the man, too.”
The ‘Iron Claw’ star added: “I wanna try to have an understanding, so when I meet him, I’ll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there.”
‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ is being directed for 20th Century Studios by Scott Cooper from Warren Zarnes’ 2023 book of the same name that delves into the making of ‘Nebraska’.
The record was Springsteen’s sixth studio album and one of his most acclaimed works. The songs focused on blue-collar narratives and featured the musician performing all the instrumentals alone.
It was ranked at 150 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2020.
20th Century Studios chief David Greenbaum said after confirmation of the biopic earlier this year: “It is a once-in-a-lifetime honour to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.
“The deep authenticity of his story is in great hands with my friend Scott Cooper whom I am thrilled to be collaborating with once again.”

Ryan Gosling producing zombie caper I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Gosling is to produce the zombie comedy ‘I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale’.
The 43-year-old star is to work on the movie with producing partner Jessie Henderson at General Admission – the production banner that the pair launched earlier this year.
The project comes under the production company’s first-look deal with Amazon.
Adam and Daniel Cooper have written the unpublished 42-page short story and are adapting the script for the big screen.
Plot details haven’t been revealed, but the movie has been described as being set in a “post-post apocalyptic” world where former zombies are struggling to reintegrate.
Ryan is not due to star in the film at this stage while a director still needs to be found.
Gosling made his directorial debut on the 2014 picture ‘Lost River’ but explained that he won’t be getting behind the camera on another movie until his daughters – Esmeralda, nine, and Amada, eight, who he has with partner Eva Mendes – get older.
The ‘Barbie’ actor told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I’m up for it … But directing takes so much time. And, right now, my kids are so little – it’s really 24 hours for us at home right now.
“So, yes, in the future, but right now, my choices are more about what’s great for my family in terms of my experience of making this movie.”
Ryan played a stunt performer in the movie ‘The Fall Guy’ and described them as the unsung heroes of the film industry.
He told the BBC: “They dress like us, they do the dangerous things for us. They take the hits for us, they put themselves in harm’s way for us.
“They play our characters as well, they’re actors too, in the same union. But they hide their face and disappear into the shadows and everyone pretends they weren’t there.”

He added: “I wasn’t going to come but I’ve got this new chair with all these gadgets.”
Eamonn has previously talked about his crippling back pain, with the Mirror reporting he’s said: “I get very resentful that I’m not the way I used to be but I get on with it. I work hard at trying to walk.
“It’s very hard to get through a normal day but I have help.”
Eamonn, who had a double hip replacement in 2015 and a spinal procedure in 2022, later told the audience at the TRIC awards: “I had an operation a year-and-a-half ago, and two things went wrong so I have two things in my back I don’t want. So I’ll happily accept this.”

Michelle Collins believes psychic’s prediction about her finding love near 50 came true

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Collins thinks a psychic’s prediction she would meet the love of her life when she was close to 50 came true.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress, 62, married 38-year-old Mike Davidson in August after 10 years together as a couple, and has now told how she was losing hope she would ever find her dream man when they first met.
She said in a cover interview for the August issue of Prima magazine about finally finding love later in life: “I thought it would never happen – I just didn’t think I’d ever get married.
“But Mike and I will have been married for two years in August.
“I was almost 50 when we met. A psychic told me that I would meet the love of my life when I was nearly 50, and it happened.”
Michelle also opened up about making her comeback to ‘EastEnders’ as scheming Cindy Beale, 25 years after her character died off-screen on the BBC soap.
She said about reprising the role – which saw her revealed as Rose Knight, the wife of new Queen Vic landlord George Knight – “It was a big decision to return to ‘EastEnders’ and I wanted to go back with a good storyline.
“People love to hate Cindy. She is unapologetic and behaves in a way you shouldn’t really behave, but you sometimes can’t help that when you follow your heart, not your gut and, let’s face it, how many women do that?
“Now, it feels right being back. I’m comfortable in my skin, more in the moment. I’m still hard on myself, but I’m in a very different place now. And you don’t see many 62-year-old women getting good TV roles. There are probably four women who get all the roles – and that’s not me being grouchy, it’s just a fact.”
Michelle also said she had eased up on herself when it comes to keeping in shape, adding: “I was much more manic about exercise when I was younger. I had a trainer and if I didn’t exercise, I’d go a bit insane.
“Now, I go to the gym for short bursts, like 30-40 minutes.”

Andy Serkis will begin filming for The Batman Part II next year

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Serkis has revealed that ‘The Batman Part II’ will start filming next year.
The 60-year-old actor is due to reprise his role as Batman’s butler Alfred Pennyworth and has set out the timeline of production on the superhero sequel that is slated for release in 2026.
Speaking at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Andy quipped: “Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got – nah, I’m not giving away anything.
“Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do that math, it’ll be a year and a half after that.”
The first film marked Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Caped Crusader and proved successful both critically and commercially and Serkis has told audiences to expect “another brilliant script” from director Matt Reeves.
The ‘Lord of the Rings’ star said: “I know that Matt (Reeves) is working really hard on the script.
“Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing.”
Andy is also eager to collaborate with Pattinson again after their work on the original movie in 2022.
He said: “I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more.”
Jeffrey Wright is also set to return as Gotham City police officer James Gordon and revealed earlier this year that he was “patiently waiting” to see the script.
He told Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast: “Here’s the beginning, middle, and end laid out for you.
“I have not read the script. I have not received the script. I’m waiting patiently. But I’ll tell you what? As soon as I get it, I’ll call you. I’ll send a copy right over to you. On the off chance that Matt Reeves hears this, the hairs on the back of his neck are going to stand up.”

Kevin Costner had to direct Horizon: An American Saga

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner knew he had to make a return to directing on ‘Horizon: An American Saga’.
The Oscar-winning star has got behind the camera for the first time in over two decades for the four-part Western epic that begins with ‘Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1’ and felt that he was the only person with the required understanding of the story to bring the project to life.
Kevin told The Hollywood Reporter at the movie’s LA premiere on Monday (24.06.24): “Sometimes you wonder if you can still ride the bike, but what I knew was I believed so much in my story that I really was the one that needed to direct this.
“I didn’t want to come away not bringing everything home that I thought the movie had a chance to deliver.”
The ‘Field of Dreams’ actor continued: “There are people more talented than myself, I’m sure that (there are) directors (who) really understand the camera, but I believe in story and I believe so much in it that for me I think that comes shining through my movies.
“I don’t really blow anybody away with my technical understanding of things, I just film the moments and try to put my actors in spots where they can succeed, and I try to shoot them against backgrounds that are undeniable.”
Kevin has spent millions of his own fortune to make the ‘Horizon’ films but is happy to splash the cash in pursuit of his passion project.
The 69-year-old actor said: “You have to know what you’re doing and that’s what you’re doing. And so now there’s no crying, there’s no complaining. There’s just holding on to the rope.”

Jonathan Van Ness wants children as he’d love to buy them clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Van Ness wants children as he would love to buy them clothes.
The ‘Queer Eye’ grooming expert, 37, who married his husband Mark Peacock in 2020, said he had always thought he was against the idea of becoming a father but after one of his female friends got him to look at children’s fashion over a boozy lunch he said he was sold on the idea.
He told the ‘Table Manners’ podcast – hosted by singer Jessie Ware, 39, and her mother Lennie – when the hosts asked him if he thought he would ever be a dad: “Guys, I’m breaking the news here first. I always said, ‘No’, and I was like, ‘I never want kids’.
“So then we were at Bergdorf Goodman in New York on Father’s Day, just like a week ago, right?
“And our friend was joking about how she wanted to get so thin that she could wear children’s clothes because designer children’s clothes are so much cheaper than adult clothes.
“I looked into the children’s clothes department and I was like, ‘Oh, do I want a baby?’
“And then we’d had like – I’d had like two Bloody Marys at brunch, right?
“So I couldn’t tell if it was like, midday blackout or if it was like that I really wanted to be a parent.
“So Mark was like, ‘Can you wake up tomorrow talking about a baby then like, maybe we’ll talk about it’.
“By the end of the day, I already named the baby Aubrey and I’d already gotten into a fight with my sister-in-law, who was in town, randomly in New York, like Mark’s sister, and she was s******* on my baby names.”
Jonathan then added he thinks he wants to adopt a child with Mark.
And he thinks there will a lot of babies in need of parents in the US since the controversial 2022 overturning by the Supreme Court of the Roe v Wade ruling, which enshrined the right to abortions in the American constitution.
Jonathan said: “I love surrogates. I mean, that’s great. I just like, I feel like there are so many babies, and especially like not to be like, you know, a downer but especially like after Roe v Wade, there’s like, all these kids who like are gonna need like (mothers and fathers.)”

Mackenzie Crook to direct second series of Bridget Christie’s ‘The Change’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mackenzie Crook will direct the second series of Bridget Christie’s menopause comedy ‘The Change’.
‘The Detectorists’ creator, 52, will be at the helm of the return of the 52-year-old comic’s critically acclaimed, BAFTA and RTS-nominated hit, which starts filming next month.
Bridget, who recently made headlines over her split from comic husband Stewart Lee, 56, is again writing and starring in the series, which sees her despairing housewife character Linda continue her journey of self-discovery after fleeing her drab suburban existence for a hippie-style life in the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Dean.
Mackenzie said: “‘The Change’ was my favourite TV show of 2023 and so to find myself directing series two feels like winning a competition.
“My prize includes Bridget’s beautifully crafted scripts, a cast of comedy legends, and a summer of filming in the glorious British countryside.
“What a privilege to be working with (producers) Expectation and to be back on Channel 4 where I started my career.”
Bridget added: “‘Detectorists’ was my favourite British TV show of the past decade and was a huge influence on ‘The Change’, so to have Mackenzie directing the second series feels like a mad dream.
“I can’t think of anyone better suited to direct.”
Series one of ‘The Change’ saw Linda, who is married to slobby husband Steve – played by 58-year-old Omid Djalili – pack up her belongings and jump on her Triumph motorcycle to reclaim some of the 3.5 million minutes she estimated she had spent on of domestic drudgery.
It ended with a folksy coming-of-age parade through the woods, which saw Linda crowned the ‘Eel Queen’.
A synopsis for the upcoming series – which will also feature Susan Lynch, 53, Liza Tarbuck, 59, and 66-year-old Paul Whitehouse – said: “At the start of series two, Linda has got some explaining to do.
“Faced with the repercussions of the lies she’s told the forest community, along with losing the Mother Tree, and the arrival of husband Steve who has come to bring her home, Linda’s future in the forest looks uncertain.
“But she’s already come a long way since being mother/wife/homemaker Linda Jane Jenkins of Swindon, and her journey is far from over.
“She may have only been Eel Queen for a day, but something’s changed in Linda which means she’s not done yet – in fact she’s only just started.
“But little does she realise what a huge impact this decision will have on the town… and Steve.”

Sir Trevor McDonald admits he’s the ‘biggest coward’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Trevor McDonald is the “biggest coward”.
The veteran broadcaster and newsman, 84, is famed for interviewing the likes of Tony Blair, Colonel Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein and has covered warzones across the world, but says even his mum would say he is frightened at heart.
He told Saga magazine: “As my mother would tell you, I’m the biggest coward imaginable.”
Sir Trevor – who kicked his career at ITN in 1973 as the network’s first black reporter and became the sole presenter of ITV’s News at Ten until he retired in 2008 – said he was especially frightened covering the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
He added: “In Belfast, when things got rough in the street, I’d always use the pretext, ‘I’m going to find a house where there’s a phone and call the office’.
“There were no mobile phones then, but the truth was I couldn’t stand the noise. “If I heard a shot, I’d run like hell.”
Sir Trevor was knighted in 1999 for his services to journalism, and also told Saga what has stuck with him from his years in the limelight and at the centre of life-changing and devastating global events is people’s kindness.
He added: “What’s struck me more than anything is the kindness of strangers everywhere you go.
“I see it now when I use my bus pass to travel to the tennis club.
“When passengers get off, they all say, ‘Thank you, driver’.
“Isn’t that lovely?
“In this dark, turbulent world, there are still these glimmers of decency and light and kindness and generosity and grace.”
He also told how he has now been able to ditch the permanent use of trademark glasses thanks to eye surgery.
Sir Trevor said: “I had cataract surgery two years ago, so now I only need glasses for reading and it’s lovely.
“I have to be careful about my footing these days, but everything on television that used to be a dull red now glows crimson – it’s so clear.”

Sally Lindsay will ‘never say never’ to ‘Coronation Street’ comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Lindsay will “never say never” to a ‘Coronation Street’ comeback.
The 50-year-old actress left the ITV soap nearly 20 years ago after making her mark playing feisty Shelley Unwin and has gone on to feature in a string of popular TV shows including ‘The Madame Blanc Mysteries’ and crime drama ‘Scott and Bailey’ alongside her former ‘Corrie’ co-star and friend Suranne Jones.
When asked in an interview for Yours magazine if she’d ever consider returning to ‘Coronation Street’, Sally said: “It was a wonderful time. Suranne and I get asked that a lot, and obviously we’ve been very lucky in our careers, so at the moment, no.
“Although, having said that, never say never, because we loved it – I loved it.
“It’s the best place to grow, and to learn. I learnt everything on ‘Coronation Street’ – it’s brilliant.”
Sally added she and Suranne – who played Karen MacDonald on ‘Corrie’ – would have made comebacks on the show for the funeral of Betty Williams, played by the late Betty Driver, who died aged 91 in 2011 after she’d spent a month in hospital.
She said: “I definitely would have gone back to ‘Corrie’ for Betty’s funeral because she was a very dear friend.
“Suranne said she would have done as well, but they never asked us.”
Sally also talked about how she finds it scary one of her children wants to follow in her acting footsteps.
She married drummer Steve White in 2013 and the pair have 13-year-old twins Louie and Victor, and Sally said about one of her children’s budding showbusiness ambitions: “I’m a bit nervous about it. (The world of acting is) horrible, it’s ruthless and it’s hard.
“You’ve got to have thick skin – even now.”
