Pauly Shore reflects on Richard Simmons ahead of biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Pauly Shore has paid tribute to Richard Simmons ahead of starring as the late fitness guru in an upcoming biopic.
The TV personality – who found fame for his popular aerobatic video series ‘Sweatin’ to the Oldies’ – was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Saturday (13.07.24), the day after his 76th birthday.
Following the sad news, the 56-year-old comedian hailed him “one of a kind”.
He wrote on Instagram: “I just got word like everyone else that the beautiful Richard Simmons has passed. I hope you’re at peace and twinkling up in the heavens.
“Please give my mother Mitzi and my father Sammy a big hug and a kiss for me. You’re one of a kind, Richard. An amazing life. An amazing story. They broke the dolphin shorts when they made you. Rest in peace, my friend. Rest in peace.”
Shore had originally played Simmons in the short film ‘The Court Jester’ and could “really relate” to him because of the actor’s own love for health.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “I am him. I like helping people. I like health. I like putting that energy out there … I help comedians and people, and so I really relate to Richard. And I’ve been going to the gym since I was a kid. And I think I’m a little over-the-top as well, so I feel like I connect with him.
“And I’ve known him for years from back in the day. I started in the ‘90s. I used to always see him, and I was always giving him hugs and high fives and stuff.”
While the ‘Encino Man’ star loved playing Simmons in the flick, the late star admitted he did “not approve” of the planned biopic.
He penned on Facebook: “Hi everybody! You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore.
“I have never given my permission for this movie. So don’t believe everything you read.”
Responding to his comments, the ‘Son in Law’ actor said he had been “up all night crying” after learning Simmons didn’t give him his seal of approval.
He asked: “Richard, how do you not approve of this movie?
“I mean, really, who’s better to play you in a movie than ME? Leonardo DiCaprio’s not gonna play you. Brad Pitt’s not gonna play you. I’m perfect. Everyone already thinks I’m you. We’re the same. Beautiful, inside and out.”

Will Best ‘engaged to his long-term girlfriend Tobi Rose’

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Best has secretly got engaged to his long-term girlfriend Tobi Rose.
The ‘Big Brother’ host, 39, popped the question to the stylist – who he has been with for more than 12 years – while on a romantic getaway to Tuscany, and they “could not be happier” to be spending the rest of their lives together.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Will and Tobi are engaged and could not be happier.
“Naturally, they are both overjoyed and can’t wait to celebrate making it down the aisle.
“There are no plans locked in at the moment.”
Will – who shot to fame on T4 and has an array of star-studded friends, such as his ‘Big Brother’ co-host AJ Odudu, 36, comedian Matt Richardson, 33, and ‘Love Island’ presenter Maya Jama, 29 – isn’t expected to have a “flashy”, star-studded big day.
The insider continued: “Will has been in industry since 2010 so naturally has close bonds with some big names but the idea of a flashy celebrity wedding is world’s away from what he and Tobi want.
“Will is pencilled in to host two series of ‘Big Brother’ next year, so that blocks out a number of months when it comes to picking a date.”
The ex ‘Suck My Pop’ presenter gushed about Tobi last year on their 12-year anniversary.
Will said: “12 years ago today I met this truly one in a 7.88 billion human being… as well as being the love of my life, she’s also frighteningly true to her word.”
In March 2022, Will dubbed Tobi a “total inspiration” on Mother’s Day for how she dedicates herself to their pooch Sandwich.
He wrote on Instagram: “Happy Mothers Day to this total inspiration.
“The way you wave us goodbye as we head out for walks in the rain, and point out any sandwich poops I’ve failed to scoop, reminds me on a daily basis how lucky we are to have you.
“You’re the best baby, love you x (sic)”

Kieran Hayler to appear opposite Matt Smith in Sky drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Kieran Hayler is to star opposite Matt Smith in a new Sky drama.
The 37-year-old former stripper – who was married to Katie Price for eight years – has landed a role in ‘The Death Of Bunny Munro’, which is based on the book of the same name by Nick Cave.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “It’s not clear just what part Kieran has in the show, as the project has been kept under wraps for months.
“Though bystanders were amazed to see him as part of the production during filming last week, with many still recognising him as being Katie’s former husband.
“It’s a particular surprise given that it’s a rather high-quality drama – though perhaps less surprising is that it centres around a character with a sex addiction.”
Kieran previously claimed he suffered from sex addiction, saying in 2018: “Sex addiction is very complicated to deal with. It could strike at any time.
“It’s when I’m feeling low or if Kate does something I’m not happy about, it’s a way of making myself feel better.”
Katie previously accused Kieran of having an affair, and later said in 2015 he was in therapy for sex addiction.
Speaking at the time, she said: “He is in therapy… it is ongoing for him.
“When someone is a drug addict or they are an alcoholic addict… no one ever things someone could have a sex addiction.
“I didn’t think there was but with him it is more about the adrenaline and the thrill. I just thought he was a young guy but I’m pleased he did it with two of my friends as it is just sex… not a relationship.”
In the drama, Matt’s character also has suffers from sex addiction, which is when someone has extremely intense and frequent sexual urges or sexual activities.
However, in 2020, Kieran claimed his sex addiction was “made up”.
He said at the time: “I definitely don’t have a sex addiction. It was all made up.
“I don’t have a sex addiction. It’s not true… I don’t.”
Filming on the drama is said to have taken place around Brighton over the summer.

Cait Fitton hid in a car boot to keep Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton return top secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Cait Fitton hid in Calum Lill’s car boot to keep the whereabouts of her ‘Coronation Street’ character Lauren Bolton top secret.
The 22-year-old actress went to great lengths to keep the details of what happened to the ex-sex worker – who fans have been concerned about since she was last seen in March – amid the missing person plot.
This included sneaking out of buildings and getting into the boot, to avoid suspicion about how Joel – who is played by Calum – was responsible for her disappearance on the long-running ITV1 soap.
Cait joined ‘Corrie’ in 2022 as a part of a three-month stint to tell the story of her coercive relationship with the solicitor.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I had to sneak in and out the building, getting lifts from Calum but having to get in the boot to make sure I wasn’t being seen.
“People would be at the front getting selfies, I’d be in the boot still. So it was a bit chaotic! It was like a massive game of twister in that boot, it was tiny. There were times when I had to get on the floor in a taxi, the driver was wondering what’s going on – and I’d just shout go go go! It was mad. Fun, but mental. I never thought I would have to be doing that to get into work.”
Viewers were relieved to see her make a return earlier this week, and Cait knew she was “fortunate” to always know she would reprise her role.
She continued: “I knew from very early on I was coming back, which is such a fortunate position to be in in this industry, because once you finish a job you don’t know what’s going to happen after that. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions.”
Cait threw fans off any scent of speculation by updating her Instagram bio to read “previously Lauren in ‘Coronation Street’”.
She added: “Everyone was like, ‘Has she left?’ I was like, ‘Yes, I’m gone now. I’m finished!’
“The amount of people so invested in the storyline, it’s been a breath of fresh air. With Roy getting arrested for murder, then the reveal of Joel, it’s been an amazing storyline to be part of.
“But it has made it really tough. I started back in April, by that point obviously, no one knows that I’m filming.
“We filmed on location. That was a bit stressful. It felt like the ‘Men in Black’, I was in one of the big black coats, black sunglasses. The fact I wasn’t seen was a miracle. It’s been great. The support I’ve had online has been amazing. People messaging saying hope you’re not leaving the show we love what you did with the character, hearing that gives a reassurance.”

Britain’s Got Talent follows in Strictly Come Dancing’s Blackpool footsteps

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is to follow in Strictly Come Dancing’s footsteps – by heading to Blackpool.
The Saturday night ITV1 talent competition is expected to “take on the dominance” of the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition – which makes an annual trip to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom for one episode each season – when it heads to the northern seaside town to film auditions.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Strictly’s annual jaunt to Blackpool is one of the show’s ‘special moments’ and is widely seen as a milestone for the contestants.
“But now that trip will be replicated by its ITV rival, there’s little doubt they’re trying to encroach on their territory.
“It’s yet another move to take on the dominance of Strictly on Saturday night telly.”
In June, it was reported that YouTuber KSI could be set to become a new ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge.
It’s thought he could step in for panellist Bruno Tonioli during some of the auditions, because the 68-year-old dance expert is expected to miss some dates due to his commitments in the US on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
A source previously told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Simon Cowell knows KSI is a huge hit with the younger generation.
“He would be a great addition to pull in teenage fans, which is something the producers are keen to do.
“KSI is chatting to bosses in the hope of agreeing a deal that would also work with his hectic schedule.”
‘BGT’ typically runs from April to June, but filming dates are set to shift so that it can be screened in the place of hosts Ant and Dec’s other show, ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, which came to an end earlier this year.
It was initially suggested Bruno would have to leave the show entirely because of the new filming dates, with Alan Carr tipped to replace him on the panel alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
A source told The Sun newspaper: Once it became clear auditions were starting in October, as opposed to January as per the previous 17 series, it became clear Bruno may not be able to take part.
“He’s committed to the US, but the new format for ‘BGT’ is non-negotiable because the show will effectively be replacing ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’.
“Bruno has been a real hit with his fellow judges and viewers so it would be incredibly sad to see him go.”

Ruth Langsford ‘to address Eamonn Holmes split in Loose Women return’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford is expected to address her split from Eamonn Holmes when she returns to ‘Loose Women’ later this month.
The former ‘This Morning’ co-hosts announced in May they had gone their separate ways following a 27-year relationship and 14 years of marriage, and Ruth – who hasn’t appeared on the lunchtime show since April – is yet to speak publicly about their split.
A TV insider told MailOnline: “The presenters on Loose Women have a history of opening up about their marriage splits on air and it’s a very supportive environment.
“Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show.
“The audience has been there through the highs and the lows of her relationship, she has always been very open and honest and later this month will be no different … she owes it to the viewers to say something.”
It is expected to be the “one and only time” Ruth addresses her and Eamonn’s break up.
The insider added: “She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it … she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.”
Eamonn, 64, has moved out of the home he shared with Ruth, 64, and last month the GB News presenter admitted he was “not OK”.
Speaking at the TRIC Awards in June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London – where he was nominated in the Best News Presenter category, as well as Best News Broadcast for his work on GB News – he told the Daily Mirror newspaper about the end of his 14-year marriage: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.”
When asked about whether he and Ruth will continue to have a relationship of any kind, Eamonn added: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”
Eamonn, who suffers chronic back pain which is so severe he needed a walking aid and high-tech wheelchair for the ceremony, also admitted he feels as if he is living on “borrowed time”, as his father Leonard died at the age of 65 from a heart attack in 1991.
He added: “I wasn’t going to come but I’ve got this new chair with all these gadgets.”

Alan Fletcher hopes Neighbours will go on ‘forever’ as he praises fans for ‘saving’ the soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Fletcher believes ‘Neighbours’ will go on “forever”, and he has praised fans for “saving” the show.
The 67-year-old actor, who plays Dr Karl Kennedy in the Australian soap, cited the five and half million UK-based viewers who tuned into the last-ever episode in August 2022 as to why Amazon bought the rights to revive the programme on their FreeVee streaming service, after he thought it was “done and dusted” following Channel 5 pulling the funding earlier that year.
While appearing on ‘This Morning’ on ITV1, he said: “It was just extraordinary. For me, it was done and dusted. I was so sad for the fans. I’ve had so much feedback. People were gutted. Five-and-half-million people watched the last episode here.
“Amazon saw that. The fans saved ‘Neighbours because Amazon said, ‘This is crazy. It’s an incredibly popular show’. And it still is. It’s number one on Amazon on here, and it’ll go forever.”
The last-ever episode of ‘Neighbours’ was a star-studded special, with several of its former stars-turned-Hollywood-A-listers, such as Guy Pearce, 56, and Kylie Minogue, 56, making Ramsay Street returns, and Margot Robbie, 34, appeared via video link.
At the time, fans didn’t expect the show to reach its 40th anniversary celebrations.
Alan has told how he is yet to see the scripts for next year’s 40th anniversary special of the soap – after the show began in March 1985, and he first rocked up to Erinsborough in 1994 – but he trusts the celebrations will be “spectacular” thanks to the care and love of the show’s writers.
He told the hosts: “Well, honestly, I haven’t even seen the scripts yet.
“They keep this stuff very close to their chest. Jason Herbison, our executive producer. He created the very final episode of ‘Neighbours’ when it went off air originally.
“He’s a brilliant writer, and he knows ‘Neighbours’ like the back of his hand, so you can be sure with his guidance that the 40th-anniversary episode is going to be spectacular.”
Alan teased that ‘Neighbours’ is always keen for a returning cast member to “pop in” while talking about Stephanie McIntosh’s return as Sky Mangel, and he named checked Toadie Rebecchi star Ryan Moloney, 44, who recently quit the show after three decades.
He said: “The great thing about ‘Neighbours’, too, is it is very much a family, and we have always got characters from the past coming back, rejoining the show. Sky Mangel popped in the other day, you know, things like that. So, I mean, we know that Toadie, of course.
“He’s off doing some directing. He’ll still pop in I’m sure.”

‘He’s the naughty one!’ Karen Hauer tells all about her Strictly Come Dancing co-star Gorka Marquez

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Hauer says her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-star Gorka Marquez is “naughty”.
The 42-year-old professional dancer insisted she keeps her 33-year-old colleague in check while training for their upcoming ‘Speakeasy’ tour, which is due to kick off next year.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He’s naughty. He’s the naughty one.”
Gorka agreed, saying in the same interview: “Yeah, she’s the one that goes, ‘Gorka, stop now’.”
Karen has a particular look that she shoots him, as he outlined his full intention to “embarrass” his five-year-old daughter Mia – who he has with his fiancée and ex-Strictly partner Gemma Atkinson, 39, along with their 12-month-old son Thiago – during important milestones in her life.
Gorka said: “I’m the guy who will embarrass my daughter at her 18th birthday party doing the daddy dance in the crowd.”
The pair were recently confirmed to be returning to the star-studded BBC One Latin and ballroom competition, which is co-hosted by Claudia Winkleman, 52, and Tess Daly, 55.
While Gorka will be back as a pro dancer rather than a ‘Strictly’ panellist – like Shirley Ballas, 63, Craig Revel-Horwood, 59, Motsi Mabuse, 43, and Anton Du Beke, 57 – he isn’t a stranger to being a dance show judge, after he recently joined the panel of the Spanish edition of ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
He said: “I really like it, it’s fun. Obviously, I’m used to being on the other side and the one being judged, but I think because I’ve been on that side – it’s like when Anton judges ‘Strictly’, he understands the process and the amount of emotions, work and everything that goes around each dance.”
Gorka thinks it is “good” for his craft.
He said: “So, it’s very good for me to them feedback and be constructive and help them to keep working so they improve because I know how it feels. But I miss dancing, so I enjoy that more at the moment; helping someone to learn to dance, teaching a routine.
“It’s more rewarding than just sitting there and judging someone so I want to keep dancing. It’s really helped me understand even more…”

‘I’m so happy!’ Janette Manrara ‘proud’ of husband Aljaz Skorjanec as he re-joins Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Janette Manrara is “so proud” of her husband Aljaz Skorjanec, after he re-joined ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Strictly – It Takes Two’ presenter feels “so happy” that her significant other – who she has 11-month-old daughter Lyra with – is heading back to the BBC One Latin and ballroom series later this year for the 20th anniversary, and she cannot wait to watch Aljaz on the programme with their little one.
She wrote on Instagram: “We started our @bbcstrictly journey together back in 2013, and now for the 20th year anniversary, we’ll both be back on your screens once again! I am so happy the country gets to enjoy the smiliest man in showbiz once again. But mostly, I cannot wait for Lyra and I to be sat together on Saturday nights watching Ati (Dad in Slovenian) dancing on our telly.
“We’re so proud of you Bucko, and we love you to the moon and back! (sic)”
Former ‘Strictly’ pro dancer Janette admitted the show’s “keep dancing” motto has never felt so apt.
She added: “CONGRATULATIONS!! And I guess the shows motto has never felt more true….. #keepdancing (sic)”
Aljaz confirmed on ‘The One Show’ that he is returning to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ as a professional dancer later this year, following a two-year hiatus.
He said: “I could not be more ecstatic to be back with the ‘Strictly’ family.
“This year is such a special one for this legendary show, I can’t wait to be a part of it and make my return to the dancefloor.
“I had an absolute ball during my nine year stint on Strictly, during my time away I became a parent, which has been an exciting challenge in itself and now I’m ready to experience the ‘Strictly’ magic again.
“It feels so right to be coming back, I missed the fun, glitter and the judges of course and I hope to make my daughter Lyra proud!”
Janette quit ‘Strictly’ in 2021, a year before Aljaz, but in March 2022 the star admitted she couldn’t “express the sadness in [her] heart” that her husband was leaving the show.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “I cannot express the sadness in my heart to see @aljazskorjanec say goodbye to @bbcstrictly, but at the same time there is so much joy in my heart for what he has brought to the show these past 9 years. I have admired him from the day I met him for his passion for dancing, but more than anything for his kindness towards anyone he encounters. As his wife and best friend, I could not be happier to know that he made so many smile during his time in Strictly; not just those who were watching from home, but also those who work behind the scenes. He makes every single person he encounters feel absolutely special; ask any of his partners throughout the years. He IS STRICTLY and what Strictly is all about; taking someone who wants to learn to dance, and making them truly fall in love with it. (sic)”

The Boys star Laz Alonso hopes showrunner will follow final season with a movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Laz Alonso wants ‘The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke to end the show with a feature film.
Before Season 4 of the Prime Video show premiered last month, the 50-year-old producer announced the upcoming fifth season would wrap up ‘The Boys’ once and for all.
Now, the 50-year-old actor – who plays Mother’s Milk in the series – revealed he has been “unsuccessfully pitching” a movie to the showrunner, though conceded Kripke was adamant to end the programme with its next instalment.
During an appearance on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, he said: “Like, make the last episode of season five a cliff-hanger and announce the film that we’ve been filming since the beginning of the series, pretty much.
“But [Kripke] always somehow gets out of that one.”
While Alonso is keen to keep ‘The Boys’ going for a little longer, 48-year-old actor Antony Starr – who plays the show’s main villain Homelander – insisted it would be better for the series to end with its next season because the producer had “always had it in his head” the programme wouldn’t extend beyond the planned five seasons.
He explained: “[Kripke] started the show saying that this was always in his head to go five seasons.
“And, of course, I don’t know about you guys, but I was sitting there going, ‘Pff, we’ll see. Oh, we shall see. It might only go two.’ But, no, the show has done well.”
The ‘Banshee’ star added all of the cast wanted to “go out on a strong note”, and so didn’t want to needlessly continue the story of the show beyond the five seasons.
He said: “I think everyone wants to go out on a strong note, and I think there’s nothing worse — and I’ve been involved in a show that did this, it was horrible – you do that last season and it’s s***. And you get remembered very poorly and you’ve got to kind of wear that.
“I like to think that we will go out on a really strong note and I think we all deserve it.”

Nicolas Cage reveals movie wish list before retirement

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage is open to appearing in “popcorn” films before he retires from Hollywood.
Last December, the 60-year-old actor announced he had “started to cement” his plan to leave the industry in the near future, though has now revealed he wouldn’t immediately turn down a flick that “affects people” and is about the human experience.
During an interview with The New Yorker, he said: “I want to see people going through their hardships, their celebrations and relate to it, or find something to it that makes me feel less lonely in some way.
“I’m not interested in, you know, a $100 million science fiction. I do love science fiction, but I’m not necessarily going to the movie for the spectacle.”
Although he is open to star in more down-to-earth pictures, the ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ actor emphasised he did not want to appear in any blockbusters, and revealed he was “considering” a few movie offers “right now as we speak”.
He explained: “That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do more adventure films, or I wouldn’t do something that’s more popcorn.
“I’m considering it right now as we speak. But the movies that made me want to be a film actor are movies like Elia Kazan’s or ‘Raging Bull’ — movies that were about people who were contending with the issues of life.”
Cage – who appears alongside Maika Monroe in the upcoming horror flick ‘Longlegs’ – added he could have “three or four more lead roles” left in him before leaving Hollywood for good, and considered his part in the new movie to be more of a supporting one.
When asked if he wanted more screen time in ‘Longlegs’, Nicolas said: “It would have been a slippery slope. I think it could have lapsed into something almost too ridiculous.
“You don’t want to see that the shark is made of rubber, you know? You want the shark to be terrifying and keep it under the water for a lot of it.”

Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman ‘keeps talking about’ making a sequel with Tom Cruise

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ director Doug Liman “keeps talking about” making a sequel with Tom Cruise.
The 2014 sci-fi flick – which starred the 62-year-old actor as Major William Cage, a military offer who is trapped in a time loop during a battle against invading aliens – was announced to be getting a follow-up flick by Warner Bros. in 2019, though there has not been any concrete updates since.
However, Doug, 58, has now revealed the project is alive and well, and added he and the ‘Mission: Impossible’ actor continue to discuss ideas for the next entry.
When Empire magazine asked if the proposed ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ sequel was completely dead, he said: “No, we keep talking about it. We love that world.
“Tom and I just actually re-watched it about two months ago, because I hadn’t seen it in 10 years. I was like, ‘Wow, that is a really good movie.'”
The film – which also starred Emily Blunt as the battle-hardened warrior Sergeant Rita Vrataski – was moderately successful, making $370 million before it left theatres.
Despite not being a major box office winner, the film lived on through the fans, and is now often cited as one of Tom’s best pictures across his career.
Reflecting on the flick’s status amongst fans, the filmmaker explained he would rather make movies that could stand the test of time instead of those that just make a lot of money.
He said: “I haven’t necessarily always had the good fortune of having movies that have huge opening weekends.
“‘Bourne Identity’ lost to ‘Scooby-Doo’ [on] its opening weekend. And ‘Swingers’ came and went from the theatres.
“What I’ve come to understand is, I’m making movies for the long term. I’m an ego-driven guy, I’d like to get accolades now. But I also recognize that, if I was given the choice, I’ll choose making films that people 50 years from now are still watching.”

Ryan Reynolds says making Deadpool and Wolverine was ‘easily the best experience of his entire life’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds has said that making ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ was “easily the best experience of [his] entire life”.
The 47-year-old actor is reprising his role as the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ for a third time since his 2016 debut, and he will appear alongside 55-year-old Hugh Jackman’s mutant superhero in the upcoming blockbuster, which is directed by Shawn Levy, 55.
Discussing his experience on set, Ryan admitted he loved every minute of making the picture – which brings both characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – because he got to work with his “closest friends”.
During a Disney fan event in Shanghai, China, Reynolds said: “To make a movie together, and to have the experience be something that is easily the best experience of my entire life and incredibly profound … but then for the film to exceed that experience, and be even more special and more emotional than anything that I’ve ever been a part of and funnier because it’s so emotional, it allows so much of that funny to come out in interesting ways.”
Hugh – who has played Wolverine since 20th Century Fox’s ‘X-Men’, released in 2000 – agreed with his co-star, and described the experience of reprising his iconic role as “one of the greatest of [his] career”.
Shawn also teased audiences could expect some of the regular pillars seen across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but stressed the upcoming film had its own identity that was “very faithful to the ‘Deadpool’ tone”.
He said: “I thought that making my first Marvel movie would be scary, or challenging in new ways, and it was a big task. Because you’re telling a big story of anti-heroes who are also heroes.
“But I have to say: Marvel let us write the script we wanted to write and make the movie we wanted to make.
“It is an MCU movie — so it is filled with action, adventure, and big themes — but it is very faithful to the ‘Deadpool’ tone, which is audacious, irreverent, and always surprising.”

Louise Thompson planning 2025 wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Thompson is hoping to get married to fiancé Ryan Libbey at the end of 2025.
The couple got engaged in 2018 and welcomed their first child in 2021, son Leo, but delayed their wedding plans due to Louise’s difficult pregnancy and subsequent health struggles which include the bowel condition ulcerative colitis and autoimmune disease lupus.
The former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star and Ryan recently had a lengthy and open chat about their relationship and future and during that conversation he admitted to her that he really wants to tie the knot.
In an interview with Closer magazine, she said: “Ryan and I had a really amazing conversation a couple of weeks ago. We were both a bit fed up and he decided that we should go on a walk to the park.
“We spent five hours in the park hashing out stuff that we haven’t spoken about in two-and-a-half years. And one of the things that he did uncover was that a wedding would mean a lot to him. And I never knew that, because we’d never spoken about it.
“I’ve never dreamt about the big white wedding and I’ve never had a huge urge to do it, but now I know how much it means to him, I’ve started getting more excited by it and want to make it happen.
“He literally said, ‘If I die without having got married, I won’t feel like I’ve lived a complete life’. I thought it was really cute and just confirmed to me how much he loves me.”
Louise is now eyeing a date for their nuptials and she thinks that a year-and-a-half of planning will give her enough time to ensure her big day is perfect.
The TV personality – who is the sister of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner Sam Thompson – shared: “I don’t want to rush anything though. Maybe we can plan something for the end of next year – I love the idea of a beautiful winter wedding.
“I think there’s an expectation that I’ll get married abroad, but that might be too much work. And I love the idea of Leo being the cutest little ring bearer!”

Jonathan Ross could be in talks for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Ross is in talks for a reality show – but has ruled out ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 63-year-old broadcaster has sparked speculation he could be set to sign up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after teasing he is trying to make space in his schedule for a “reality type thing”.
Appearing on ‘The Therapy Crouch’ podcast, he said: “I’m still doing the talk show [‘The Jonathan Ross Show’]. That’s coming back next year. I’m doing Masked Singer again this year.
“I might be doing a reality type thing if I can get all the dates to work, which is quite a fun thing.”
When host Peter Crouch asked if he will be boarding a plane and heading Down Under, he said: “No, not the jungle. I wouldn’t go in the jungle. I wouldn’t want to eat that stuff. And I wouldn’t… I’d just get bored.”
He then spilled that he has a fear of heights, adding: “I tell you what I wouldn’t like on that, the height thing when they make you walk out of that thing in the beginning. But I just don’t think it would be a fun thing to do. When you get older, you do have to factor in, you know, what do I actually want to do with my time?”
At one time, Jonathan was rumoured to be replacing the late Sir Bruce Forsyth as host of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show – but insisted he was too loyal to rival ITV.
However, he ruled out a return to the Beeb after he was suspended for 12 weeks without pay by the broadcaster in 2008, after a series of lewd answerphone messages left for actor Andrew Sachs about his granddaughter Georgina Baillie were aired on BBC Radio 2’s ‘The Russell Brand Show’ without consent.
He told Digital Spy: “That would never happen, oh come on. I’m not going to be offered it. I’m very happy at ITV. I’m an ITV person. I have no problem with the BBC, but I have no intention of going back there to host shows.”
