Prince Harry 'besotted' with Meghan Markle

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is reportedly “besotted” with new girlfriend Meghan Markle.
The 32-year-old royal met the ‘Suits’ actress in May and friends have noticed how happy and content he is.
A source said: “He’s happier than he’s been for many years.
“He’s in a very relaxed period of his life and Meghan has come along at the right time.
“They are taking each week as it comes and just enjoying each other’s company but it’s fair to say that they love seeing each other and there’s a definite chemistry between them.”
Although sources say they are unsure of whether the relationship will be long-term, Harry has already introduced the 35-year-old beauty to brother Prince William and sister-in-law Duchess Catherine.
A source told the Sunday Express newspaper: “William and Kate really liked her and she fitted in straight away.”
Harry – who has dated Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas in the past – has previously spoken about his desire to settle down but knows it’s not easy because of the position he is in.
He said: “Even if I talk to a girl, that person is then suddenly my wife, and people go knocking on her door.
“If or when I do find a girlfriend, I will do my utmost… to ensure that me and her can get to the point where we’re actually comfortable with each other before the massive invasion that is inevitably going to happen into her privacy.”
He added: “To be fair, I haven’t had that many opportunities to get out there and meet people. At the moment, my focus is very much on work. But if someone slips into my life then that’s absolutely fantastic.”

Queen Elizabeth unveils Queen Mother statue

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles have unveiled a statue of the Queen Mother.
The mum and son pair travelled to Poundbury, Dorset, south west England to unveil the magnificent artwork in the aptly-named Queen Mother Square.
Charles told the cheering crowd: “So it is with immense pride and in loving memory of my darling grandmother that I invite Your Majesty to unveil the statue of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and thus to declare open her Square.”
Poundbury is particularly special to the royals as Charles created the town back in 1993.
The experimental town, which is now home to around 3,000 people, was built on land owned by his estate, the Duchy of Cornwall.
Charles recalled to the crowd how the vision for the area was once seen as a “mad dream”.
He said: “25 years ago all this was a mere dream. To most people … a completely mad dream.”
Elizabeth was joined by Prince Philip, and Charles had Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, for company as they toured the area.
All four headed to the Waitrose supermarket in Poundbury for a look around and they were gifted free hampers which even included dog food for the family pets.
Charles said afterwards: “I can’t possibly thank Waitrose enough for their generous hospitality today.”

Camilla opens Duchess of Cornwall pub

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has opened up a pub named in her honour.
The 69-year-old royal marked the occasion at the Duchess of Cornwall establishment in Poundbury, Dorset, south west England, – which was built in 1993 on landing owned by Prince Charles’ estate, the Duchy of Cornwall – by pulling a pint of The Duchess.
A toast was made to the “Duchesses”, and Camilla said: “God bless all who drink in her.”
Charles accompanied Camilla to the pub and was one of the first people to try the 5.5 per cent real ale.
Beforehand, Mark Woodhouse, chairman of brewery and pub firm Hall & Woodhouse, said: “I would like to ask the duchess to open the building by pulling a pint of Duchess – this is a special brew that we have brewed for the occasion, it’s 5.5 per cent in alcohol and I can tell you it’s unctuous.
“It will then be a case of the duchess pulling a pint of Duchess to open the Duchess.”
He admitted seeing Camilla pull the pint to open the pub named after her was one of his proudest moments.
He said: “My family have been keeping inns and brewing Badger beer for 240 years nearly but there can be fewer prouder moments than the opening of this public house.”

Prince William to attend homeless charity event

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William will attend a charity event featuring performances by Phil Collins and Craig David.
The 34-year-old star will head to the Centrepoint at the Palace event in the grounds of Kensington Palace on November 10, where Phil and Craig will take to the stage as well as Ellie Goulding and Dirty Vegas.
Centrepoint – a charity which aims to create a better life for homeless people – is hosting its second ever Centrepoint Awards during the evening, which will be hosted by TV presenter Jonathan Ross.
William will present the accolades to youngsters whose lives have been helped by the charity, and he will also deliver a speech at the event.
Phil – who recently announced a comeback tour – admitted he is “delighted” to be able to perform at the awards bash.
He said: “30 years ago I wrote Another Day in Paradise in response to the shocking number of people sleeping on the streets.
“It’s just depressing to think that the number of young people finding themselves rough sleeping, with all the terror and danger that brings, has more than doubled over the last five years. I’m delighted to be performing in support of Centrepoint and their amazing work in helping homeless young people.”
Richard Utting, event director at Centrepoint, said: “Phil Collins is a true music legend so it’s fantastic to have him on a bill of seriously talented performers for Centrepoint at the Palace – an unmissable evening’s entertainment for a hugely important cause.
“We need to make sure homeless young people continue to get the support they deserve and the opportunities they need to build a future for themselves.”

Pippa Middleton 'to marry in May'

OHMYGOSSIP — Pippa Middleton is set to the tie the knot in May.
The 33-year-old star – who is the younger sister of Duchess Catherine – is reportedly expected to marry fiancé James Matthews, 41, in six months, and the planning stage is well underway.
A friend of the bride-to-be told PEOPLE that the couple have earmarked May 2017 for their big day, adding: “Of course she is super excited and already planning everything.
“[They] have a lot in common – he’s charming and old-fashioned. Everyone thinks he’s quite the catch.”
James presented Pippa with an engagement ring he had designed himself after popping the question in July, and the diamond sparkler is thought to be worth around $250,000.
The pal added: “He would never have bought something off-the-peg for her, it had to be very special.”
Pippa recently admitted James is still trying to come to terms with being in the spotlight.
She said: “I have had a few years of being in the public eye and I have developed something of a thick skin. But managing it all on my own has been quite hard. I have quite a lot thrown at me, such as being followed by people hiding behind cars and jumping out with cameras. It can be unnerving.
“There’s always something cropping up and has to be managed on my own. It’s been a real eye-opener for James. There have been quite a few hurdles to negotiate.”

Prince Harry makes Tatler's Little Black Book 2016

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has once again made it into Tatler’s Little Black Book.
The 32-year-old royal – one of the world’s most eligible bachelors – is in the magazine’s annual supplement which features “the most eligible, most beddable, most exotically plumaged birds and blokes in town”.
Harry has made it on to the list every year since its inception and 2016 is no different.
And Harry’s cousins Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and Lady Kitty Spencer, also appear in the Little Black Book.
Just last month, Harry was voted the world’s hottest royal, beating off stiff competition from Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip, 37, who came in second place.
The poll carried out by Crown Clinic, a hair loss treatment company, surveyed 1,000 women with many choosing Harry because he is “fun” and a great personality to represent the British royal family.
Meanwhile, Harry’s older brother Prince William, 34, – who has Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 17 months, with his wife, Duchess Catherine – only just made the list and was placed in ninth place.
A total of three British royals made it, Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips came in 10th place.
Elsewhere, Prince Wenzeslaus of Liechtenstein – who previously dated Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima – came sixth.
Other royals listed include Monaco’s Andrea Casiraghi, Dubai’s Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, King Felipe VI of Spain and Prince Amedeo of Belgium.
Asim Shahmalak, from Crown Clinic, commented: “Prince Harry is our most popular young royal and it is great to see that he has now been voted the world’s number one Prince Charming, too.
“He is a fun guy and is great at selling Britain all over the world.
“The other fun finding from the poll is that it was won by a ginger-haired man. You don’t find many Hollywood leading men who are redheads but Harry shows that it is very attractive.
“I think Harry’s whole look has been enhanced by his recent beard which really suits him.”

Sarah Ferguson: 'Princess Eugenie is not engaged'

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson insists her daughter Princess Eugenie is not engaged.
Despite reports that 26-year-old Eugenie’s long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, 29, has popped the question after six years of dating, her mother Sarah says the pair are not planning to wed just yet.
When asked by PEOPLE if they are engaged, Sarah laughed and said: “No.”
However, sources close to the royal family are full of praise for Jack.
An insider said: “He is a really lovely chap. They adore each other and are really serious.”
Meanwhile, Sarah has spoken about how proud she is of her daughters.
She said: “My daughters are the finest ambassadors of good parenting from Andrew and I.
“Beatrice just raised a great deal of money for her charity Big Change, doing a Strive Challenge with the Bransons. And then she went with the Franks Foundation to eye hospitals in Nepal. And she has scoliosis of the spine and she does an awful lot for orthopaedic research. They are very extraordinary girls.”
Eugenie and Jack reportedly flew to Queen Elizabeth’s home in Scotland last month to ask for her blessing on their forthcoming engagement.
The loved-up couple spent two days at the monarch’s Balmoral Castle because Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry was hosting a shooting party to celebrate his 32nd birthday, but it’s believed Jack took advantage of the time by asking his lover’s famous grandmother for her approval.
An insider at the castle said: “You could call this weekend a rite of passage for Jack. There is no way he would be invited to stay with the Queen unless he was being welcomed into the royal fold and the bosom of the family.”
However, a friend of Jack admitted that he was riddled with nerves ahead of his visit to Balmoral.
The pal explained: “You could say he was somewhat apprehensive about going to Balmoral. But Jack has no side to him and will just be himself.”

Prince Charles and Waitrose blasted over Duchy Organic ice-cream

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has been blasted for the high level of sugar in his Duchy Organic ice cream.
The heir to the British throne and his Duchy Originals firm joined forces with Waitrose – which owns the brand licence – to form Duchy Organic but Action on Sugar says the brand’s ice-cream contains almost twice as much sugar as some other brands.
Kawther Hashem, a nutritionist and researcher at Action on Sugar, said: “Unhealthy foods are the biggest cause of death and disability in the UK and it is time the food industry took their responsibility for this seriously.
“They now need to make this a priority and ensure children are not eating three times their daily maximum intake of sugar.”
However, a spokesperson for Waitrose said: “The sugar content is clearly labelled and we sell a range of vanilla ice creams with a significantly lower sugar content, which our customers can choose if they want a healthier option.
“Reducing sugar is a top priority and we have an extensive reformulation programme to achieve this, which has already included significantly reducing sugar in chilled juices, cereals, yoghurts, soups, cordials and fizzy drinks.”
According to the Daily Telegraph, Duchy Organic vanilla ice cream has 14.5g of sugar per 100g while Asda’s has 7.9g.

Duchess Catherine not top-selling Vogue cover star

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine’s Vogue issue was not the top seller for the magazine this year.
The 34-year-old royal recently on the front cover of the fashion magazine’s 100th anniversary edition, a coup for British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, but she has admitted that the September issue featuring Cara Delevingne sold more copies.
Speaking on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, she said: “Yes [Duchess Catherine] did very well for us but she wasn’t actually the bestselling issue of the year.
“But that’s not because of Cara Delevingne it’s because it’s the September issue and everyone wants to buy Vogue for fashion, so you can’t really judge it that way.”
The editor managed to keep Catherine’s cover shoot a secret for four months and even Richard Macer, who shot a documentary at Vogue magazine’s headquarters, was unaware of it.
He said: “Trust. It’s a critical ingredient in any successful documentary. My job is to make the contributor feel them can speak openly and honestly in an unfettered way.
“But for some reason Alex felt she couldn’t tell me about the royal photo shoot. It wasn’t just a case of withholding information. She actively lied. More than that, she developed an elaborate ruse.”
And Richard was impressed that Alexandra managed to get the “scoop of the year”.
He added: “The centenary issue is selling like hot cakes and Alex is still at the top of her game. Far from announcing her retirement, she’d pulled off the scoop of the year.”

Phil Collins talks Princess Diana meeting

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Collins has opened up about a meeting with Princess Diana and her lover James Hewitt.
The 65-year-old musician revealed he saw the pair together when he was on his way to the dentist with his assistant Danny Gillen and stopped to chat.
He wrote in his new autobiography ‘Not Dead Yet’: “A BMW pulls up and the window slides down. It’s Diana and, sitting in the driver’s seat, an officer-class chap I recognised as James Hewitt.
“Light as you like, [she said] ‘I’ve just had a colonoscopy. It was great. You should try it.’ Danny and I look at each other. ‘Did that really just happen?'”
Diana and James first met in 1986 and later went on to have a five-year relationship.
Last year, Prince William and Prince Harry were offered the chance to buy Hewitt’s letters written by their mother.
The former cavalry officer was accused of trying to sell correspondence from the princess – who died in 1997 – and William, written almost 30 years ago.
His Los Angeles-based dealer Gary Zimet revealed he first offered to sell the letters to the princes, via their lawyers Harbottle & Lewis, before putting them on the market.
He said: “I thought it was the decent thing to do. It was easy to find out who their lawyer is from the internet, so I wrote to Mr Tyrrell and attached scans of the letters and cards and wrote, ‘Kindly advise if William and Harry would be interested in acquiring these letters and cards which I am selling on behalf of James Hewitt.'”
Meanwhile, James’ friend Alan Darlow has claimed he had no plans to sell the letters but just wanted to put Mr Zimet off and quoted a large sum in order to “discourage him”.
He told The Times: “[James] had made it quite clear he did not wish to sell. He therefore gave him a high figure to discourage him.”

Prince William's Vietnam trip

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William is planning a solo trip to Vietnam.
The Duke of Cambridge – who has two children with his wife Duchess Catherine – will travel to Hanoi next month to attend the International Wildlife Trade Conference on November 16 and 17.
Details of William’s trip to Vietnam were announced on Kensington Palace’s Twitter page.
A series of tweets stated: “The Duke of Cambridge will visit Hanoi, Vietnam on 16-17 November to support efforts to fight the illegal wildlife trade.
“HRH will attend the 3rd Int’l IWT conference & meet young Vietnamese people who are positively shaping attitudes for their generation.
“HRH will also see how leaders in traditional medicine are working to eradicate use of IWT products like rhino horn – stay tuned for updates!”
William is passionate about wildlife conservation and last month gave a powerful speech on behalf of the charity Tusk, which he is a patron of.
He said: “We have the chance to say that ivory is a symbol of destruction, not of luxury and not something that anyone needs to buy or sell.
“We have the chance to say that rhino horn does not cure anything and does not need a legal market. Now is the chance to send an unambiguous message to the world that it is no longer acceptable to buy and sell ivory, rhino horn or other illegal wildlife products. Indeed, I would challenge anyone who knows the truth of how these wildlife products are obtained, to justify desiring them.”

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie slammed

OHMYGOSSIP — Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been slammed as “superfluous to national requirements”.
The royals’ father Prince Andrew wants them to take on full-time royal duties and be given new accommodation at Kensington Palace, something his brother Prince Charles reportedly disagrees with, and British TV personality Vanessa Feltz does not believe the pair should become full-time royals.
She wrote in the Daily Express newspaper: “I do not think these two women (whose only crimes have been against fashion) should be rewarded with a prominent position on the royal Firm, be given even more palatial accommodation at Kensington Palace and granted substantial incomes for ribbon cutting and tree-planting at tax-payers’ expense.
“Frankly B and E are superfluous to national requirements.
“We are perfectly served by the Magnificent Seven: the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, [Duchess] Camilla, Wills [Prince William], Kate [Duchess Catherine] and Harry [Prince Harry].”
Vanessa also believes that there are enough royals representing the Queen on engagements right now and has encouraged Beatrice and Eugenie to focus instead on finding “love and happiness”.
She added: “Fling Prince George and Princess Charlotte into the mix and we have an elegant sufficiency of royals. With Prince Andrew whizzing about the globe, the Duke and Duchess of Wessex disporting themselves on and off bicycles in a dignified fashion and Princess Anne occasionally bobbing into view en route to an engagement of extreme worthiness, we are not deprived of a royal flavour should we desire one.
“Let them find love and long lasting happiness.
“Let them spread joy wherever they go. Let them relish nine sunshine holidays every year.
“And if Prince Andrew wants them to have a smarter flat let him put his hand in his pocket and fork out for one.”

Note from Prince Charles stolen

OHMYGOSSIP — A handwritten note on a wreath from Prince Charles has been stolen.
The 67-year-old royal marked the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan tragedy – where 116 children and 28 adults were killed after a mountain of coal waste slid down onto Aberfan and destroyed a junior school and nearby homes – by laying a wreath with a handwritten message in the cemetery where many of the victims are buried.
The message at the cemetery in South Wales read, “In continuing memory and deepest sympathy” but was later stolen from the wreath.
David Davies, the chairman of trustees at the Aberfan Memorial Charity, said: “It’s a pretty despicable act, for someone to have done that given it was a personal message by His Royal Highness to the people of Aberfan.
“I can only presume it was some autograph hunter who though they were more deserving of the note than Aberfan.
“The last time I saw the note was on Friday (21.10.16) lunchtime when Prince Charles laid the wreath, and the next time I visited the cemetery on Sunday (23.10.16) lunchtime it was gone.
“My personal view is that there is very little chance of the note returning.”
