Prince Charles' UAE praise

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has praised the United Arab Emirates as “second to none in their generosity”.
The Prince of Wales, 67, delivered a speech at the International Humanitarian City – a logistics centre based in Dubai where aid is distributed – in which he thanked the UAE for the help they give to those who are need.
He said: “The United Arab Emirates, and the broad spectrum of support that they offer, could not be more needed in these complicated times. It is, of course, merely a part of their long track record in helping those who are affected by natural disasters, not to mention the sixty five million who are displaced by conflict.
“Indeed, according to the OECD, having in 2014 disbursed 1.26 per cent of its Gross National Income as development assistance, the UAE are literally second to none in their generosity.”
Charles, who is currently on a trip in the Gulf alongside wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of the British government, also admitted he was pleased the UAE and UK have such a “close and warm” relationship.
He added: “I am delighted that the collaboration between the United Kingdom and the UAE on a range of development and assistance policies, from water and sanitation to humanitarian cooperation, has become an important element of our close and warm bilateral relationship.
“Our Secretary of State for International Development was here only two weeks ago to meet His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, to discuss how our relationship in this area can be further developed.”

Meghan Markle complains about press intrusion

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle has complained to a press regulator about recent media reports about her life.
The 35-year-old actress reportedly instructed her representatives to write a letter filled with her concerns about how she is being portrayed in recent coverage of her relationship with the 32-year-old royal, according to the Independent’s website.
The news comes after Harry slammed the online trolls that are attacking his American girlfriend, who lives in Toronto, Canada, and said he was “deeply disappointed” that he has not been able to protect her from the “wave of abuse and harassment” she has suffered since their romance was made public.
A statement released by Kensington Palace reads: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public … the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.”
Meghan’s relatives have also been bombarded with messages and questions after the news of their romance broke.
And the flame-haired royal also insisted he has “never been comfortable” with the curiosity around his love life.
In a statement, the spokesperson added: “Since he was young, Prince Harry has been very aware of the warmth that has been extended to him by members of the public. He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads.
“He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life. He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin about the level of media interest that comes with it.”

Phillip Schofield: Prince Harry is very angry

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield thinks Prince Harry is “very very angry” following a statement released by Kensington Palace confirming his relationship with Meghan Markle.
The 32-year-old royal defended the ‘Suits’ star against racist and sexist abuse in a letter released by his Communications Secretary today (08.11.16) and the ‘This Morning’ host admitted it was a highly unprecedented move.
He told ITV viewers: “I think this is the most powerful statement I have ever heard come out of the Palace. It’s an incredibly personal message from Prince Harry, and he is obviously very, very angry.”
Royal correspondent Camilla Tominey – who broke the story – was patched into Phillip and Holly Willoughby on a studio telephone link and said it was clear 35-year-old Meghan had been harassed with “racially dodgy” comments.
She said: “Apparently Miss Markle has been besieged with comments – some positive and some negative.
“I didn’t make any comment on her, I just broke the story. There have been racially dodgy comments made about her and her mother and I would never write anything like that.”
The statement read: “This last week has seen a line crossed. His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.
“Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.
“He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly.”

Princess Diana's stepmother Raine Spencer laid to rest

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana’s stepmother Raine Spencer has been laid to rest.
Countess Spencer died aged 87 last month following a short illness and was buried at a private funeral at a cemetery on the outskirts of London, according to her wishes.
The family released a short statement, which said: “Raine, Countess Spencer, died peacefully at her home in London on 21st October 2016, after a short illness.”
PEOPLE reports that no members of the Spencer family attended her funeral service.
Raine married the late Princess of Wales’ father Earl Spencer in 1976 when Diana was 15 years old.
It’s believed Diana and her brother Charles had a strained relationship with their stepmother – who they nicknamed ‘Acid Raine’ – however it improved over the years.
Majesty magazine’s editor-in-chief, Ingrid Seward, told the publication: “They spoke every morning and lunched together once a week or once a fortnight. They were very, very close and Diana used to lean on Raine’s shoulder and tell her all her problems, of which there were many. So their relationship completely turned around. It was quite a dramatic turnaround.”
Raine is survived by her four children William Legge, 10th Earl of Dartmouth, Rupert Legge, Henry Legge and Charlotte, Duchess of Carcaci and nine grandchildren and will be remembered at a memorial service next month.

“And so I was automatically put into the top sports teams and academic sets. But I was a bit of a squirt when I first started, so then it would be, ‘Are you sure you’re a Middleton?'”

Prince William and Prince Harry urged to end Fifa poppy ban

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William and Prince Harry are being urged to end Fifa’s poppy ban.
Veterans have pleaded with the royal brothers to step in and fight the controversial new rule that denies players the right to wear political, religious or commercial messages including the symbolic broach on their shirts.
Gary Waving, an ex-Lance Corporal, said: “There should be no compromise. Prince Harry is well placed to put our argument forward and if our royals aren’t going to fight for us, who is?
Former Guardsman Barry Martin said: “It would be great if Prince William could put himself forward. Fifa’s judgment is an absolute disgrace.”
While Geoff Edwards, 58, who was in the Royal Corps of Transport, told The Sun newspaper: “I fully support Prince William getting involved. Fifa wouldn’t even exist if people hadn’t given up their lives.”
The FA announced it will provide players with a black armband adorned with poppies but refused to back down and let England and Scotland footballers wear the traditional red pins in Friday’s (11.11.16) match.
An English FA spokesman said: “In recent weeks, the FA has led remembrance discussions with Fifa to allow the England team to show its support for the poppy appeal during the World Cup qualifier with Scotland.”
However, veterans also have the support of prime minister Teresa May, who said as she addressed the House of Commons last week: “Our football players want to recognise and respect those who have given their lives for our safety and security.
“I think it is absolutely right they should be able to do so.”

A source told The Sun newspaper: “She has not met Wills and Kate yet and Harry is keen for this to happen as soon as possible.

It’s believed the 34-year-old actress has already met many members of the royal family including Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles, during a trip to Balmoral to help celebrate his 32nd birthday six weeks ago.
A source said: “Meghan’s visit is significant. She met Charles and he was charmed by her. She was a real hit.

Prince Charles' planet fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles is “deeply worried” about the planet he will leave behind for his sons.
The future king is a huge environmental campaigner and is very concerned about the “depressing trajectory” of wildlife loss on Earth and the impact it will have on Princes William and Harry.
Introducing a WWF lecture at the Royal Society, Charles – who is president of WWF, and also a grandfather to Prince George, three, and 18-month-old Charlotte – said: “As a father and grandfather I worry deeply about the world we are leaving behind for our successors. We are rapidly destroying our means of survival.
“Clearly we are not living within the environmental limits of our plants. Populations of vertebrate species have declined by more than half from 1970. We are on a deeply depressing trajectory to witness the sixth global mass extinction in our planet.
“We are ushering in a new era. It’s alarming to realise that after 4.5 billion years that a change in epoch has been due to the activities of just a single species.”
Sir David Attenborough also warned that children born today would never experience such a variety of wildlife because of record levels of extinction.
The naturalist, 90, said at the same event: “In my lifetime I have seen something of the marvellous range of wild species with which we share the planet.
“But due to the changes which today afflict the world, no one born tomorrow will have the opportunity to see such variety. We must surely do all we can to protect what remains.”

Princess Diana's niece is jealous of the homeless

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana’s niece is envious of the homeless.
Kitty Spencer – whose family are said to be worth around £100 million – says she admires people who have had to sleep on the streets because they have a focus to their lives that she lacks.
Kitty – who is an ambassador for Centrepoint in London which accommodates and trains homeless people aged 16 to 25 – told The Times newspaper: “The young people that have come out of Centrepoint are so focused on one thing.
“They know exactly what they want to do and what their talents are. So for that I envy them.
“I do battle with what it is that I really want to set my mind to.”
While she loves doing work for Centrepoint – of which her cousin Prince William is a patron of – she admits she finds it emotionally draining at times.
Kitty – who is the daughter of Diana’s brother Earl Spencer and his ex-wife Victoria – said: “The first day I did a Centrepoint sports day I left feeling on a high, I felt ‘What an amazing way to spend my time’.
“And then I got home and my boyfriend asked me ‘How was Centrepoint?’. I said I actually can’t talk about it.
“It suddenly came crashing. Because some of them were really, really young and some of them just looked so weak and you just think, ‘Where are your parents?'”
As well as working at Centrepoint, she also works four days a week for the military charity Give Us Time, which matches soldiers in need to a family holiday with holiday homes and timeshares owned by British families.

Prince Harry’s romantic weekend at Balmoral with girlfriend Meghan Markle

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry reportedly took Meghan Markle to Balmoral to help celebrate his 32nd birthday. The loved-up royal is said to have taken his new girlfriend to grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s Scottish estate six weeks ago, where she was introduced to his father, Prince Charles.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Meghan’s visit is significant. She met Charles and he was charmed by her. She was a real hit.”

Although the queen was in residence, it’s not thought she met Meghan as she was hosting UK Prime Minister Theresa May. As well as staying at Balmoral, Meghan was also a guest at Harry’s shooting party on the estate and she has also met his cousin Princess Eugenie.

And last month, the smitten pair visited Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, England, before Harry flew to Toronto, Canada, to spend Halloween with Meghan.
The source continued: “Despite the fact that Harry and Meghan live on opposite sides of the Atlantic, they have managed to meet up fairly often. Harry as been paranoid at the relationship getting out before either of them knew if they wanted to continue. But it’s moved very fast and they can’t bear to be apart. They’ll be meeting up again very soon.”

While Meghan has gone down well with the royal family, her half sister recently hit out at her, saying Harry cannot trust the ‘Suits’ actress. Princess Beatrice cosies up to a mystery man at Halloween bash

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Beatrice has been spotted getting close with a mystery man. The 28-year-old royal was caught enjoying an evening out with a new man at a Halloween party over the weekend, which saw her adorn a glamorous pirate outfit for the bash, according to The Sun Online.

The flame-haired beauty was spotted leaving supermodel Heidi Klum’s annual event, which was held in Manhattan, in the same vehicle as a dark-haired hunk after the pair waltzed out of the party smiling, whilst Beatrice’s companion wrapped his arm over her shoulder.

This news comes after Beatrice’s former boyfriend Dave Clarke – who ended their 10-year romance in July this year – was seen out with a new woman at Chiltern Firehouse last week.

However, this isn’t the first time Beatrice has been seen moving on from her ex beau, as earlier this year she went on a blind date. Things didn’t go according to plan with her mystery suitor, as he had no idea he was being set up with a member of the British royal family and was left sweating and shaking with nerves throughout their meeting.

Speaking previously, a source said: “Bea went on a date with a man who arrived with flowers but was left pouring with sweat when he realised who his date was.

“Beatrice found it very funny – it was great to break the ice, great practice and he was a great guy, she said.”

Meanwhile, it was previously claimed Beatrice and Dave had gone their separate ways because he didn’t want to get married. A source explained: “After ten years together, Beatrice and Dave had to wonder why they were not married.

“They talked it through and decided to take time apart to reflect on the future. They remain friends and the decision to break up was mutual. Beatrice has become a lot more assertive and confident recently. She gave Dave an ultimatum, but it backfired because he did not ask her to marry him. They both agreed that with no marriage in their future, it was time to go separate ways.”

Speaking to BBC Online about the upcoming gig and gracing the stage in front of the royal family, he said: “[I am] very honoured and excited.”
“I was lucky enough to host back in 2012 so will be looking forward to another fabulous evening with huge talent.”

This year’s Royal Variety Performance, which is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity who provide people in the entertainment industry with the care and assistance they need, will see music legend Sting and fellow musicians including Robbie and Emeli Sande take to the stage, as well as ‘Funny Girl’ actress Sheridan Smith and Bee Gee’s band member Barry Gibb.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall – who married Charles in 2005 – will watch contemporary artists One Republic and DNCE, which is fronted by former Jonas Brother band member Joe Jonas.

This year’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner Lance Corporal Richard Jones will enchant the audience with his magic tricks, whilst the shows former champion Diversity will wow with their showstopping dance routines.
