Duchess Catherine and Princess Mary's royal advice

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine and Princess Mary have been turning to each other for advice.
The British royal – who is married to Prince William – and Mary, wife of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, have become good pals in recent years and are reportedly in close contact.
A source told Australia’s New Idea magazine: “They are truly modern royal women, and this is an exciting time for both monarchies.
“They have spoken to each other about their coronations, pledging to work together and support each other through their transitions.
“They will confide in each other more over the coming months as they are at a very similar stage in their royal life.
“It’s natural they would lean on each other.”
Mary’s husband Frederik is next in line to the Danish throne, while Prince William’s father Prince Charles is just ahead of him in the British line of succession.
The royals have plenty in common and earlier this year Mario Testino – who took William and Catherine’s engagement photographs – spoke about photographing Frederik and Mary for Vogue Australia.
Alongside an image of the husband and wife – who married in 2004 and have sons Christian, 10, Vincent, five, as well as daughters Isabella, nine, and Josephine, five – he wrote: “SUCH A PLEASURE SHOOTING HRH CROWN PRINCESS MARY AND HRH CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK OF DENMARK FOR THE COVER OF @vogueaustralia
“UN GRAN PLACER FOTOGRAFIAR A SAR LA PRINCESA HEREDERA MARY Y SAR EL PRINCIPE HEREDERO FREDERIK DE DINAMARCA PARA LA PORTADA DE VOGUE AUSTRALIA (sic).”

Prince William's tribute to Michael Phelps

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William paid tribute to Michael Phelps at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards on Sunday (18.12.16).
The 34-year-old royal attended the ceremony in Birmingham, England, where he presented the Olympic swimmer with the Lifetime Achievement Award and joked that his retirement would give other athletes a chance to shine.
He said: “It’s a huge honour for me to be here this evening for what has been an incredibly memorable year for sport.
“It’s also a particular privilege to be here tonight Michael to give you your Lifetime Achievement Award.
“You’re one of the greatest sporting icons the world has ever had.
“Your 23 gold medals, never mind all the other colours, pales into sheer superhuman history.
“You should be so proud of your achievements, so many, many congratulations and hopefully your retirement gives somebody else the chance now.”
Tennis star Andy Murray accepted the Sports Personality of the Year award from Miami, where he is attending his annual pre-season training camp.
He said: “I would like to thank my team, who make a lot of sacrifices and spend a lot of time away from their families. I’d also like to thank my own family, my mum, my dad, who got married 10 days ago, I miss you guys.
“Thanks to my wife Kim, although I’ve got a bone to pick with her because she texted an hour before to say she voted for Nick Skelton. She told me she voted for both of us, so I’m going to have to trust her on that.”

Elton John praises Prince Harry

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has praised Prince Harry for continuing his late mother’s charity work.
Elton was a friend of Princess Diana – who passed away in a car crash in 1997 – and he insisted the royal would be very proud of her son for setting up the Sentebale charity in Africa 10 years ago.
Speaking in the new ITV documentary ‘Prince Harry In Africa’, Elton said: “If his mother was alive, she’d still be doing the work she set out to be doing, and he’s carrying it on in the best possible way.”
Chris Martin and Joss Stone also praised the royal for his charity work.
Speaking in the documentary, Harry urged everyone to help others in any way they can.
He said: “If you’re me, if you’re your Average Joe, if whoever you are, if you can’t affect politics and change the big things in the world then just do whatever you can do, whether it’s in your local community, your village, your local church, walking down the street, opening a door for an old lady, helping them cross the road.
“Whatever if it is, just do good. Why wouldn’t you?”
Harry co-founded the Sentebale charity with Prince Seeiso, the brother of the King of Lesotho over a decade ago and revealed losing their mothers had helped them to bond.
He said: “There’s obviously a connection of some sort. The fact that we have both lost our mothers, at different ages and in very different circumstances. But, his mother stood for something and my mother stood for something as well. To a certain extent, there is a lot of unfinished business, a lot of unfinished work that my mother never completed.”

Prince Harry 'more serious' about Meghan Markle than previous loves

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is “more serious” about Meghan Markle than any of his previous girlfriends.
The 32-year-old royal has been dating the ‘Suits’ actress for the past few months and insiders claim Harry’s feelings for her are stronger than his previous girlfriends Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas.
A source told E! News: “Harry is more serious [about Meghan] then he ever has been about a woman before.”
And insiders have previously claimed that Harry could have marriage on his mind.
An insider explained: “It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s already thinking about engagement just because that’s where his head goes but that’s not where the relationship is at right now. This is totally Harry. The problem with Harry is when he falls, he falls hard. He goes in big time.”
Earlier this month the smitten royal took a 1,700-mile detour to spend time with his girlfriend.
Harry flew to Toronto, Canada to see Meghan, 35, on the way back from Barbados, where he was on a Caribbean tour, because he “couldn’t wait” to spend time with her.
A pal said: “Harry just couldn’t wait to see her.
“He was due to fly back to London on a British Airways flight with the rest of his entourage.
“But he changed his mind and diverted straight to see her as they couldn’t bear to be apart.
“It’s just another sign of how head-over-heels he is about her.
“He is absolutely besotted. We’ve never seen him so happy – it’s great.”

Prince Harry: 'I didn't deal with my mother's death'

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry says he “never really dealt” with his mother’s death.
Princess Diana was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997 and her youngest son admitted that he buried his feelings about the tragedy for a long time.
Speaking in the ITV documentary, ‘Prince Harry In Africa’, to mark the 10th anniversary of the charity Sentebale which he founded in memory of his mother, Harry, 32, said: “I never really dealt with what had happened. It was a lot of buried emotion. For a huge part of my life I didn’t really want to think about it.
“I now view life very differently from what it used to be. I used to bury my head in the sand, and let everything around you tear you to pieces.
“And now for me, I can see exactly where I want to take it. The fact that I’ve managed to keep Sentebale going … for the last 10/11 years has been fantastic because now everything else I’m involved with makes sense to me and I’m just getting started.
“What started as an idea of me turning round and saying, right, I’ve got a year off, I want to do something really constructive with my life, want to do something that makes my mother proud.
“Someone said, right, go to Lesotho, it’s like where the hell is that? Now I can see exactly where I want to take it. I have huge amounts of passion for the causes and interests and charities I’m involved with.”
Harry – who is currently dating ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle – also insisted that he wants to “make something of my life” and help those less fortunate than him.
He said: “I need to make something of my life … I was fighting the system, going, ‘I don’t want to be this person’. My mother died when I was very, very young and I don’t want to be in the position. Now I’m so energised, fired up, to be lucky enough to be in a position to make a difference.”

Duchess Camilla's niece joins The Jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Camilla’s niece has joined the forthcoming series of ‘The Jump’.
Emma Parker Bowles – who is the daughter of Richard Eustace Parker Bowles, whose brother Andrew Parker Bowles was married to Camilla from 1973 to 1995 – is to take part in the gruelling Channel 4 winter sports competition filmed on the Austrian slopes next month and she thinks she will do well considering she is an “adrenaline monkey”.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I am really excited about taking part in ‘The Jump’.
“I have the ability of a mountain goat and am an adrenaline junkie so it’s right up my alley.”
And she isn’t the only royal to compete on the popular show as Zara Phillips’ former rugby player husband, Mike Tindall, came second on the show in 2015.
The former model joins previously announced celebrity competitors Louis Smith, Vogue Williams, Lydia Bright and Spencer Matthews go head-to-head on the slopes as they attempt to lift the trophy in February.
Meanwhile, Davina McCall says the celebrities who take part in ‘The Jump’ are the “bravest people on television”.
The 49-year-old television personality is excited for the sports show to return and last month teased the “amazing lineup” they have secured.
She said: “It is a crazy, crazy show to be part of and our contestants are just the coolest, bravest people on television. Not because we put them at any risk, but you know, it’s just being in the snow. Normally you’re in the snow for a week and you have a certain amount of risk, but if you’re in the snow for eight to ten weeks and you’re on the slopes every day doing these crazy events … these people are amazing.
“People that love it, love it. So I’m really pleased they do. We’ve got an amazing lineup – an unbelievable lineup. And no, I can’t tell you, but we have quite a few people set. They’re crazy amazing people – I’m so excited.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte gifted teddy bears

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been gifted a teddy bear each by Club Scouts their mother Duchess Catherine met.
The three-year-old tot and his 19-month-old sister were given the cute soft toys by nine-year-old old Dylan McKenna, who gave them to the 34-year-old mother and wished her two children – whom she has with Prince William – well.
She told People magazine: “I said, ‘I hope George has a wonderful Christmas’ and she said, ‘I will definitely put this under the tree.”
And it seems the gifts are already piling up, as the security guards at Kensington Palace have already purchased a Christmas present for Charlotte.
The team decided to get a framed print, which starts off with the text, Princess Charlotte, The Day You Were Born and contains details about her birth including her weight and her birthstone, which is Taurus as Charlotte, 19-months, was born in May.
The unique gift, which cost around £55, was designed by Lucy Tapper and she received a letter of thanks from Charlotte’s parents, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – who also have three-year-old son Prince George – via their office
Lucy told The Sun newspaper: “It’s very exciting to know that our print will be hanging on Princess Charlotte’s nursery wall.
“We can’t quite say it’s by royal appointment but it is pretty close.
“We received an order from the security team at Kensington Palace for a Day You Were Born print as a gift for Princess Charlotte.
“We sent the print, along with a card and we received a letter of thanks from the office of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”
This year William and Catherine will join the Queen at Sandringham for the festive period.
And while George and Charlotte will be spoiled with gifts by friends and family, William recently said he wants to teach his children that it is the simpler things in life that are more important.
He recently said: “The materialism of the world I find tricky sometimes. I would like George and Charlotte to grow up being a little bit more simple in their approach and their outlook. I would like them to grow up with more simple aspirations.”

“They came in at about 8.30pm last night.

Duchess Catherine will play a part in Pippa's wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine will still “play a part” in her sister’s wedding.
The 34-year-old royal – who is married to Prince William has reportedly decided not to be a bridesmaid or maid of honour when Pippa Middleton ties the knot with James Matthews next May because she doesn’t want to upstage the bride, but insiders insist that doesn’t mean she will be stepping back from proceedings altogether.
A source told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “There have been ludicrous reports suggesting that Catherine is barred from the wedding – nothing could be further from the truth.
“It is ridiculous to suggest she will not play a part in the day.”
However, the duchess will be represented in the bridal party by her children, as Princess Charlotte, 19 months, is expected to be a flower girl and three-year-old Prince George will be a page boy.
It has been reported Pippa and James will marry on May 20 next year, but there is no “particular significance” to the date they have chosen.
A source said: “There is no particular significance with 20 May – it is just the date they have decided on.”
The couple will marry at St. Mark’s church in Englefield, before a reception in the grounds of Pippa’s parents home in nearby Bucklebury.
And the party planner chose the venue because it is both pretty and discreet.
The source said: “Pippa is a traditional girl and wanted to marry close to home.
“They appreciate that there will be significant interest with the wedding but want to keep it as private as possible.
“After the service, guests will head to the Middleton home for a reception.”

Lisa Appleton impersonates Duchess Catherine

OHMYGOSSIP — A former ‘Big Brother’ contestant tried to convince tourists she was Duchess Catherine.
Lisa Appleton – who, at 48, is 14 years older than Prince William’s wife – introduced herself to people outside royal residence Buckingham Palace as the duchess, much to the bemusement of visitors from as far away as Dallas, Texas, in video footage shared on the MailOnline.
But while her glamorous appearance may have gone some way towards tricking some of the baffled passers by, Lisa’s lack of royal knowledge quickly let her down as she forgot the names of Catherine and William’s children, Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 19 months.
Despite Lisa’s efforts being shot down outside the palace, she insisted she is frequently mistaken for the glamorous royal, who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage.
She said: “I actually got stopped by a woman who said, ‘Was I Kate?’ I was in Chester. In a bar.
“The older generation, like pensioners, do think I am either Catherine Zeta Jones of Kate Middleton.”
Lisa got engaged to long-term partner Mario Marconi in the ‘Big Brother’ house in 2008, but their marriage ended in 2013, and she admitted she hit “rock bottom” when their union collapsed and her fame waned.
She reflected: “I had suicidal thoughts, I hit rock bottom.
“After Big Brother and all the success, I lost it all. I was signing on in Warrington, I was on benefits and I was living on about £30 a week. My marriage was breaking down. I couldn’t get any work.
“It was at a time when every knew who I was. I was all over the internet. It was very overwhelming. I had people coming up to me all the time. I even had a stalker who followed me around. I was having a hard time dealing with the fame side of things.”
