Meghan Markle’s ‘fantastic’ royal Christmas

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle had a “fantastic” Christmas with Prince Harry’s family.
The 36-year-old actress spent the festive period with her fiancé and his royal family – including his grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, brother Prince William, and sister-in-law Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – at Sandringham for the first time this year, and Harry has said the brunette beauty had an “amazing time”.
He said: “It was fantastic, she really enjoyed it. The family loved having her there. There is always that family part of Christmas and there’s that work element as well.
“And I think together we had an amazing time staying with my brother and sister-in-law. We were running around with the kids and Christmas was fantastic.
“As I said we are really looking forward to the New Year and looking forward to 2018 because I’m determined to make sure that the pendulum is going to swing and 2018 is going to be a fantastic year.”
Meghan and Harry, 33, will marry in May next year, and the flame-haired royal is amazed at how stuck in the ‘Suits’ actress is getting when it comes to dealing with his large and extended family.
Speaking during an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme – which he was guest editing – Prince Harry added: “I think we’ve got one the biggest families I know and every family is complex. She has done an absolutely amazing job, just getting in there and it’s the family, I suppose, that she’s never had.”
Harry’s comments come after it was revealed earlier this month that the pair will tie the knot on May 19 2018 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Kensington Palace announced the news on its official Twitter account with a statement which read: “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018. Today’s announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.”

Prince Harry helps footballer overcome mental health struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has helped footballer Emmanuel Eboue cope with his depression.
The 33-year-old royal has long been campaigning to end the stigma surrounding mental health through his charity Heads Together – which he spearheads with his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Duchess Catherine – and now Emmanuel has claimed seeing the prince speak so openly about the subject has helped him face his own demons.
Emmanuel is fighting depression after being overwhelmed by a string of personal crises, and says seeing Harry speak about his own experience with the illness after the loss of his mother Princess Diana – who died in a car crash in Paris, France, in 1997 – gave him the courage to speak up too.
The former Arsenal defender is quoted by The Mirror newspaper as saying: “I saw that he had a problem after he lost his mother, it helped me. I said to myself, if the Prince has this problem and he has the courage to talk, why not me? People in Africa were saying that I was crazy, mental. But I watched a recording of the Ginger Prince. Since saw it, it has helped me a lot.”
It comes after Prince Harry – who is engaged to American actress Meghan Markle, whom he will marry in May next year – spoke candidly in April about his struggle in the wake of his mother’s passing.
Harry, who was just 12 years old when Diana passed away, admitted he he almost suffered a “complete breakdown” as he grew up determined not to think about the loss.
He said: “I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well.
“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle.”
Prince Harry also revealed he had been in therapy “more than a couple of times” in order to help him deal with his grief, and later turned to boxing as a way to vent his frustrations.
He added: “During those years I took up boxing, because everyone was saying boxing is good for you and it’s a really good way of letting out aggression. And that really saved me because I was on the verge of punching someone, so being able to punch someone who had pads was certainly easier.”

Prince Charles focusing on climate change in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles wants to draw attention to climate change in 2018.
The 69-year-old royal has long been campaigning to raise awareness about the environmental issue, and has said his goal for the next year is to make sure people are aware of the “untold horrors” that he believes climate change is causing across the globe.
Speaking to his son Prince Harry during an interview for BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme, Charles said when asked what one cause he would be campaigning for the most in 2018: “I think you know because I have probably bored you to tears for so many years. I mean there is a whole lot of things that I have tried to focus on over all these years that I feel needed attention. Not everyone else did but, maybe now, some years later they are beginning to realise that what I was trying to say may not have been quite as dotty as they thought.
“But the issue really that has to go one being focussed on big time is this one around the whole issue of climate change which you know, now, whether we like it or not is the biggest threat multiplier we face. Because what’s happening now is what I was dreading which is that we are having to deal all the time with the symptoms that are springing up all round the world.
“They are diverting us off down all these different channels to try and deal with ghastly conflicts and humanitarian and natural disasters and goodness knows what else. But at the root of it all, much of it, is climate change which is causing untold horrors in different parts of the world and of course we sit here in this part of the world so often unaware of what is happening in Africa or the Far East.”
And Charles believes it is a “mistake” to rely on technology to fix the issue, as he claims people need to change their “relationship with nature” to make a difference.
He added: “I personally believe the mistake is to think technology, or clever technology, will solve everything. It can solve a lot but it can’t solve our relationship with nature.”

Queen Elizabeth praises Prince Philip’s sense of humour

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth has praised her husband Prince Philip for his “unique sense of humour”.
The 91-year-old monarch took the time to praise her long-standing relationship with the Prince – whom she has been married to for a whopping seven decades – during her annual Christmas message, which aired on BBC One on Christmas Day (25.12.17), as she said she was “grateful” to be blessed with a loving family.
She said: “[I am] grateful for the blessings of home and family, and in particular for 70 years of marriage.
“I don’t know that anyone had invented the term ‘platinum’ for a 70th wedding anniversary when I was born, you weren’t expected to be around that long. Even Prince Philip has decided it’s time to slow down a little – having, as he economically put it, ‘done his bit’.
“But I know his support and unique sense of humour will remain as strong as ever, as we enjoy spending time this Christmas with our family and look forward to welcoming new members into it next year.”
The “new members” of the royal family will include Meghan Markle – who is set to marry Queen Elizabeth’s grandson Prince Harry in May next year – and the third child for her other grandson Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine, who is expected to be born in April.
During her Christmas message, the monarch also touched upon the terrorist atrocities that struck cities including Manchester and London earlier this year, and praised those who had survived the attacks for “showing extraordinary bravery.”
She added: “This Christmas, I think of London and Manchester, whose powerful identities shone through over the past twelve months in the face of appalling attacks.
“In Manchester, those targeted included children who had gone to see their favourite singer. A few days after the bombing, I had the privilege of meeting some of the young survivors and their parents.
“I describe that hospital visit as a ‘privilege’ because the patients I met were an example to us all, showing extraordinary bravery and resilience.
“Indeed, many of those who survived the attack came together just days later for a benefit concert. It was a powerful reclaiming of the ground, and of the city those young people call home.”

Prince Harry ‘openly happy’ with Meghan Markle romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is “clearly openly happy” about his relationship with fiancée Meghan Markle, according to a body language expert.
The 33-year-old royal popped the question to the ‘Suits’ actress earlier this year, and on Thursday (21.12.17) the pair released official engagement photographs to commemorate their special bond.
Now, body language expert Judi James has penned an article for MailOnline detailing what the pictures say about the couple’s “intimate” relationship.
She said: “Harry is clearly openly happy to let the rest of the world know how happy and in love he is and Meghan’s high levels of confidence seem to have allowed him to sidestep the normal formality of a royal romance and show a far more intimate side of their relationship.”
Judi went on to state that the flame-haired royal and his 36-year-old beau pose in “stunningly sexy” photographs which make the viewer feel as though they are “intruding” on a private moment between the pair.
She added: “If there were any protocol about the intimacy levels of royal engagement photos Harry and Meghan have cut right through it with the stunningly sexy poses that show a couple so much in love that the viewer might seem to be intruding.
“The new royal couple did take time out in the full-length shot to throw some eye contact towards the camera but its clear from Harry’s soft and dreamy eye expression in particular that he’s only real concern is the woman sitting between his legs.”
And Judi also notes the “besotted smile” Harry wears in one photo of the pair cuddled close together, which she claims is “authentic” and not at all posed for the camera.
She claimed: “Harry’s besotted smile makes him look almost unrecognisable and an expression like this just has to be authentic rather than posed for the camera. [Meghan is] looking down in a flirtatious way but the way their heads are nuzzling makes you feel like clearing your throat to let them know you’re still watching.”
The love birds will tie the knot on May 19 next year, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The Palace previously announced the news in a statement, which read: “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018. Today’s announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.”

Duchess Catherine ‘feeling great’ about pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is “feeling great” now that she’s in the later stages of her pregnancy.
The 35-year-old royal is looking forward to welcoming her third child with her husband Prince William in April next year, and after suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum – which is a severe form of morning sickness – in her first trimester as she did with her previous pregnancies, she is said to be feeling much better now that the worst is over.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: “[She is] enjoying her later months of pregnancy and feeling great. It’s amazing what a difference the later trimesters feel like compared to the early days, which she really struggled with more than ever this time.”
Catherine – who already has four-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte with her spouse – was previously reported to be expecting twins when a source claimed she would raise the two tots as “individuals”, although the royal family have not yet confirmed the news.
An insider said previously: “[She wants the twins to] be seen as individuals and allowed to develop their own personalities.
“The twins will sleep in separate bedrooms but will share a playroom with George and Charlotte.”
Catherine has admitted she thinks raising a child should be a collaborative effort, and other people, including teacher and school peers, play a role in looking after little ones.
Speaking previously, she said: “As a mother, just getting used to leaving my own child at the school gates, it is clear to me that it takes a whole community to help raise a child. Whether we are school leavers, teachers, support staff or parents we are all in this together.”
And while Catherine thinks more people need to help parents, William has hinted he wants less pressure put on children.
He said: “The pressure on young people these days is considerable – almost certainly more than even for my generation not so long ago.
“Children are tested more than ever before and are being prepared to enter a highly competitive work market.”

Queen Elizabeth arrives at Sandringham

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth has begun her Christmas celebrations at her Sandringham estate.
The 91-year-old royal arrived in Norfolk alongside her husband Prince Philip on Thursday (21.12.17), after the pair travelled up from London via train, which took them to the nearby Kings Lynn station.
As they left the train – which they are believed to have travelled first class on – 96-year-old Prince Philip was spotted carrying a bit of light reading in the form of a book entitled ‘Michaelangelo: The Complete Works’ by Frank Zollner, Christof Thoenes and Thomas Pöpper.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip then made the short journey from the station to their private Sandringham estate, where they will spend Christmas and New Year.
Traditionally, the royal family – including the likes of Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry – join the monarch and her consort for part of the festive period and attend the Christmas Day (25.12.17) service at a church on the grounds of the estate.
After attending the service, the royals will head back to Sandringham House for a lavish Christmas lunch before watching the Queen give her famous speech to the nation in the afternoon.
But there will be no exchanging of gifts that day as the family swap presents on Christmas Eve (24.12.17) – keeping in with German tradition.
The Queen’s trip to Sandringham comes after she hosted her annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday (20.12.17).
The party marked the first time Prince Harry’s fiancée Meghan Markle had met some of the wider royal family, including Prince Michael of Kent, the queen’s cousin, his wife Princess Michael and their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor, and Princess Eugenie.

The brunette beauty – who is currently expecting her third child with her spouse – was pictured at the theatre wearing her Zara cape and the £1500 Alexander McQueen dress she wore to the Kensington Palace staff Christmas dinner last week.

Meghan Markle’s Toronto home sells in a week

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle’s former rented pad in Toronto was snapped up within a week.
Though the price it was purchased for is yet to be unveiled, the modest three-bedroom property, which the 36-year-old beauty lived in for the two years she spent filming Canadian cable series ‘Suits’, and which her fiancé Prince Harry stayed in, was worth around $1 million.
A listing for the property, which also has a two-car garage, a garden and basement, reads: “Turnkey From Top-To-Bottom. A Perfect Home For Entertaining (sic)”
Brokers Dolly and Jenny Lenz said it’s because it was such a reasonable price that the home was sold so swiftly.
According to The New York Post, they said: “The home is aspirational. A million dollars is expensive, but . . . it’s not like Beyonce’s $88 million home in Bel Air.”
Freeman Real Estate owner Daniel Freeman said the other major appeal is that the utilities would have been used by the British royal, who Meghan is engaged to marry in Spring next year.
He said: “It’s a nice thought to think, ‘Wow, Prince Harry used this toilet.'”
Meghan previously wrote a blog post about her humble abode and how she made it feel like home by giving it a Californian feel, so that the seven Canadian winters she experienced were less brutal.
Meghan, who quit her job in ‘Suits’ due to royal protocol, now lives with her the 33-year-old prince at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace in London.
The pair are set to get married on May 19 next year.
The loved-up couple – who got engaged at the beginning of November – are to break royal tradition by getting hitched on the weekend, rather than a weekday like the rest of their family, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in Berkshire next spring.
Kensington Palace confirmed: “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018. Today’s announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.”

Meghan Markle gets into festive spirit at Queen’s Christmas lunch

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle pulled crackers and shared jokes with Prince Charles at the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch on Wednesday (20.12.17).
The royal family were reportedly determined to make the meal seem as normal as possible for the 36-year-old actress, as the brunette beauty was feeling “nervous” about being introduced to her fiancé Prince Harry’s relatives at Buckingham Palace.
However, the former ‘Suits’ star, who is set to marry the 33-year-old prince in May next year, was made to feel comfortable and the guests, including several members of the wider royal family, thought she was “delightful”.
An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Everyone wanted to meet Meghan and welcome her to the family and she didn’t disappoint.
“She was obviously a bit nervous at first but she soon relaxed with Prince Harry’s help as he introduced her to everyone and then she really enjoyed it.
“Harry was clearly very happy and very proud of her and everyone thought she was delightful. It was your typical Christmas lunch in spite of who was there – turkey, crackers … the lot. ”
Meanwhile, Meghan has agreed to celebrate the festive season with the royal family at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England.
Kensington Palace confirmed the couple will also enjoy the festivities with Harry’s brother William, Catherine and George and Charlotte.
The loved-up couple are expected to attend the traditional morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church on December 25.
Meghan will probably be among the select few of the royal family to speak with the public before and after the service and receive bouquets of flowers.
The Royals will then return to Sandringham House for a lavish Christmas lunch before watching the Queen give her famous speech to the nation in the afternoon.
But there will be no exchanging of gifts that day as the family swap presents on Christmas Eve (24.12.17) – keeping in with German tradition.
Meghan will become the first royal fiancée to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth as it is said that usually the royal family only accept married couples to join them for Christmas, but they are making an exception this year for Harry and his partner.
The pair, who will tie the knot in May 2018, will then jet back to the States to ring in the New Year with Meghan’s family.

The 35-year-old royal was asked by one of the young members of the ‘Annie’ cast to try out his galloping after being encouraged to put forward the comic request to the prince by host Miranda Hart.
William – who has two kids, Prince George, four, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte, with wife Duchess Catherine – responded by impersonating a horse running at a quick pace.
After the star-studded event – which was broadcast on ITV last night (19.12.17) – Miranda praised William for joining in with that and some of her other comic requests, including shouting out her catchphrase “such fun” whenever she asked him to.
She said: “It was a great celebration of mood-lifting work.
“I did apologise to him at the end and he said he’d practice his galloping. I thought he was wonderful in joining in. I forgot to get him to knight me with a lightsaber but maybe another time.”
William was joined by Catherine at the London Palladium event and they were the focus of a number of quips, including one from the cast of sitcom ‘Miranda’.
