Dame Joan Collins thinks harassment could be avoided

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins insists actresses should have done more to stop themselves from being sexually harassed.
The 85-year-old actress – who has previously spoken of how she was drugged and raped by her first husband, actor Maxwell Reed – insists many of those who spoke out as part of the #MeToo movement weren’t “suffering” and their ordeals could have been avoided if they hadn’t put themselves in certain situations or had reacted differently.
She said: “When people ask why I wasn’t speaking out about this – I’ve been speaking out about it for 40 years.
“It seems to me actresses who are saying, you know, ‘I went up to this producer and he took his d**k out and I froze.’ I mean, I’m sorry, you don’t freeze you go, ‘Stop that, I’m leaving.’
“I just gave them a knee in the groin. It’s hardly suffering. You just didn’t put up with it.”
And the ‘American Horror Story’ actress – who has children Tara and Alexander with second husband Anthony Newley and Katyana with third spouse Ron Kass – called on the “strong” women in Hollywood to help out those in less privileged positions.
Speaking about her oldest daughter, who worked in a women’s refuge for three years, she told The Observer magazine: “My daughter Tara is a pioneer for women’s rights.
“These women in the refuges are having to hide their identities. They’ve got children and babies and then the husbands try to find them. I remember Tara was crying to me about a year and a half ago because one of the women had gone back and been murdered – that’s what happens. Women are abused all over the world. Everybody’s very adamant and strong and #MeToo here in Hollywood, but I don’t see them opening refuges for women who have been abused.”
Meanwhile, Joan – who married fifth husband Percy Gibson in 2002 – claimed her role as Alexis Carrington on ‘Dynasty’ was cut short because of her high salary.
She said: “I became the highest-paid woman on television only on the last season, and when I reported to work, they said, ‘Oh, you’re only going to be in 10 episodes because we can’t afford you now.’
“I thought that was a bit mean. But then it’s a very harsh town, this – you’ve got to have balls of brass. And you have to be able to absolutely take rejection.”

Willow Smith has checkout plan

OHMYGOSSIP — Willow Smith “might” give up music to work in a supermarket.
The 18-year-old singer was just 10 years old when she released her first single ‘Whip My Hair’ and it seems she might be bored of life in the spotlight – but her mother Jada Pinkett Smith doesn’t care what she does so long as she’s happy.
Jada said: “I’m really excited to see what Willow will do with her life, because she’s 18 and she’s so talented in so many different areas. She told me the other day, ‘Mom, I might just be a checkout person at Whole Foods.’
“I said, ‘You know what Willow, that’d be alright with me as long you’re happy. I really couldn’t care less.
“You could freaking disappear and get off the grid – as long as you’re happy.’ ”
However, it seems unlikely Willow will be stepping back any time soon as she’s keen for her music to be “all-inclusive” and doesn’t want to alienate men with her feminine energy”.
In a joint interview with Jada and her grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, Willow told HarpersBazaar.com: “I’ve had males come up to me and say, ‘Female energy … that really hit me.’
“Obviously, it’s a very feminine energy that comes through my music, but I want it to be all-inclusive. I want men to feel welcome to come to that side as well.”
Willow – whose father is actor Will Smith – thinks the best way to rebel is by using “vulnerability” as “power”.
She said: “Obviously we’re in a patriarchal society that looks down on vulnerability and looks down on emotion and looks down on femininity.
“The biggest rebellion is coming into your vulnerability and seeing that as a power. Once you get in touch with your emotions, you start to understand things in a whole other way.
“When you express what you feel needs to change, or what you feel is unfair or wrong, that’s so important, but the real agent of change is when you embody the truth.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford is planning a huge 60th birthday party for her husband Eamonn Holmes.
The 58-year-old TV presenter thinks her significant other – who turned 59 years old today (03.12.18) – is more fearful of ageing than she is, but he likes to celebrate milestone birthdays so she has started preparing a big bash for 2019.

“When you’re in your twenties, that seems ancient!
“But obviously life goes on.
“It doesn’t really bother me, I think it bothers Eamonn a bit more.
“He moans a lot about, ‘I’m getting old, oh I’m getting old!’
“He’s very good at celebrating big birthdays. He did a big bash for his 50th, celebrated mine – he did my big ‘Strictly’ party.
“He’s very good at surprise parties. So we thought we might do something next year for his 60th.”

Yesterday (02.12.18) Eamonn again threw a surprise birthday, for his 90-year-old mother Josie – and posted a video on Instagram which showed a “sneak peek” of the balloons, decorations and displays he had chosen for the celebration, including a beautiful photograph of his mother when she was younger.
The TV presenter also showed off a custom-made birthday cake inspired by his mother’s wedding bouquet.
He gushed to the camera: “It’s a jam sponge with cream, and these were the flowers my mother used on her wedding bouquet and the sort of style.
“That’s it … 90th, that’s some achievement. I hope I do her proud.”

Donald Glover named GQs best-dressed man

OHMYGOSSIP — Donald Glover has been crowned GQ’s best-dressed man of 2019.
The 35-year-old musician-and-actor topped the British publication’s annual list, climbing from 18th spot last year largely thanks to his colourful red carpet outfits, in particular the purple Gucci suit he donned to pick up four Emmy Awards for his show ‘Atlanta’ in September.
The publication said: “In short, Donald Glover is a new-wave renaissance man – and his style is superbly ‘wavey’ too, providing all the Seventies-inspired vibes a modern man needs in his wardrobe right now.
“While his array of cheekily unbuttoned silk shirts and soft, striped V-neck knits over the past year get honourable mention, our favourite facet of his personal style has to be his commitment to anything-but-black tuxedos – especially the regal, all-purple Gucci rig he wore to the Emmys in September. Our king.”
Dior Homme creative director Kim Jones – who was on the panel compiling the rankings – also heaped praise on the star and said that Donald wears his clothes “with charisma and style” both on and off screen.
Donald beat veteran actor Jeff Goldblum and ‘Call Me By Your Name’ star Timothee Chalamet into second and third place respectively, while Travis Scott and Richard Madden rounded out the top five.
Making up the rest of the top 10 was Prince Charles in sixth spot, David Beckham in seventh, ‘All of Me’ hitmaker John Legend – who was named Most Stylish Man at the magazine’s awards earlier this year – in eighth, former One Direction hunk Harry Styles in ninth, and grime star Skepta in 10th.
Last year’s number one, ‘The Crown’ actor Matt Smith, fell to 11th in this year’s top 50.

Chris Noth says Sex And The City 3 is ‘over and gone’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Noth says ‘Sex And The City 3’ is “over and gone” and fans shouldn’t expect a revival.
The 64-year-old American actor starred opposite Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) as her on/off love interest Big throughout the HBO series, with the couple marrying in the first spin-off movie and then going through marital difficulties in the second film.
A third film was in the pipeline but plans were brought to a halt by Kim Cattrall’s refusal to reprise her role as Samantha Jones and now Noth has insisted the franchise is finished.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Chris said: “There’s no drama, there’s no movie, there’s nothing going on with it, it’s over it’s gone.”
Revealing what the fate of his character was to be, he added: “He wasn’t going to die. There’s no way he was dying that was all a lie.”
The ‘Law & Order’ actor starred in the iconic series with Parker, Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon but he has confessed that he doesn’t speak to the cast anymore because their paths have not really crossed since they shot the 2010 film.
He added: “I mean no it happens a lot in films and things. You get very close for a very finite amount of time and then you never see each other again!”
Following the news that ‘SATC3’ would not be happening, Cattrall publicly revealed that she and Parker had never been friends on set and claimed her co-star could have been a lot “nicer”.
Michael Patrick King – the executive producer of the ‘Sex and the City’ series – recently claimed the issue for Cattrall, 62, was that she was paid less than Parker, 53.
Speaking on the ‘Origins’ podcast, he said: “The show doesn’t exist if Sarah Jessica wasn’t the blonde star of the show, that’s number one.
“Kim was not at the height of her career, Kristin (Charlotte Yorke) was under her in terms of notability, Cynthia (Miranda Hobbs) was a theatre actress and their contracts reflected that status.
“I guess for Kim it didn’t matter how much the raise became if there was never parity, but there was never going to be parity.”

Gigi Hadid fears toilet water

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid can’t have a shower if the toilet seat isn’t closed.
The 23-year-old model doesn’t have any common phobias, such as a fear of spiders of heights, but she refuses to wash if she can also see the water inside her loo.
Asked her biggest fear, she said: “I’m cool with spiders and heights and clowns. But I don’t like getting out of the shower and for the toilet seat to be open.
“I’m like, I have water on me, and the toilet has water in it, and I just won’t shower with the toilet open.
“I guarantee now you’re going to look at the toilet and it’s going to make you feel weird if it’s open while you shower.”
When Gigi’s catwalk career comes to an end, she’d love to be a criminal profiler, and has been honing her skills with TV shows and movies.
She told W magazine: “At the movies or on TV, I can always figure out the murderer.
“I studied criminal psychology in school, and people know that all my favourite TV shows are that kind of psychological puzzle, usually involving a murder.”
When it was suggested she could be a cop, she added: “Maybe not a cop, but a profiler. I would like to do that. Not many models go on to solve crimes!”
Gigi also loves to get busy in the kitchen when she’s not working and one of her favourite things to do is to whip up whatever her boyfriend Zayn Malik is keen to eat because she loves experimenting with new dishes.
She said: “My favourite thing with cooking is to always try to make something new. I will ask my boyfriend Zayn Malik, ‘What do you want today?’ and I’m pretty good at pulling it off.
“On my days off, cooking is something that keeps my mind going without having to think of too many serious things.”

The 29-year-old frontman has predicted that the pop-rock band will be topping the bill at the the iconic music festival by this time next year, and although he’s afraid he might “completely lose his mind” if they were chosen to headline, he insists The 1975 have become a “really good band”.
In an interview with Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1, he said: “I’ll be at Glastonbury [in a year] whether we headline it or not, who knows, if I am ever headlining Glastonbury then everyone’s gonna have to be on guard for a year that I don’t completely lose my mind.
“Yeah I think that we are, I know that we are [ready], Glastonbury – give us a year, Reading and Leeds I’ll do tomorrow.
“It’ll be a very humble show all of this ego and confidence will probably be gone I’ll be like ‘Honestly guys thanks so much for coming’. But like we’ve just become a really good band in my opinion.”

Noel Gallagher to play show at Manchester’s Heaton Park

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher is set to play at Manchester’s Heaton Park – for the first time since taking to the stage with Oasis in 2009.
The 51-year-old musician – who hails from the English city – will play at the iconic open-air venue with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in June 2019, a decade after he last performed at the location as part of ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers Oasis.
The homecoming concert will take place on June 7, and will be Noel’s biggest open-air gig of 2019.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – who are completed by Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock, Jeremy Stacey, Russell Pritchard, and Tim Smith – will be supported at the gig by alternative rock band Doves, who are performing after a nine-year hiatus.
Although the ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker hasn’t performed at the venue without Oasis – who disbanded in 2009 following a row between Noel and his brother and rival Liam Gallagher – the Britpop legend admits that he’s loving life since the band came to an end.
He previously said: “Ten years later, I’m still on tour, I feel younger, I’m better looking, I have a better band and I write better songs.
“I’m happier and Manchester City won the Premier League three times – what more could I ask for?”
Noel – who was in the band with brother Liam for 18 years before their explosive end – penned all the tracks on Oasis’ first three albums before other members started contributing tracks with the ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’ LP in 2000.
However, while he has insisted the group was in a better place with him “in charge of everything”, he also claimed he has grown as a songwriter since going solo.
He added: “I’m 51 years old and don’t think I compose music the same way I did when I was 25 – that would be ridiculous.
“When I left Oasis I didn’t do it because I didn’t like the sound – I invented Oasis’ sound.”
Tickets for Noel’s Heaton Park gig go on sale at 10am on Friday (07.12.18).

John Cena’s life changing haircut

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena is “trying to figure his life out” through his new haircut.
The 41-year-old professional wrestler and actor has sported the same buzzcut hairstyle for decades, and after being spotted recently with longer locks, John has admitted it’s been “weird” to experiment with his hair, and can’t believe how “uncomfortable” it has made his fans.
He said: “It’s been awesome because WWE fans are very dedicated and very devoted. I went to film a movie in China and the movie was six months long and in the process I grew my hair out so I left with a buzz cut and came back with this [cut] and everyone was like, ‘You’ve ruined my childhood.’
“So I’m just trying to figure my life out with a haircut and everybody’s like, ‘You ruined my life.’ It was a great exercise in embracing the uncomfortable and it’s been cool just to try something new.”
But the cut might not stick around for long, as the ‘Blockers’ actor has learned it’s “totally uncomfortable” to have hair.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ on Monday (03.12.18), he added: “It’s totally uncomfortable [to have hair]. I just want to go get my $8 haircut and now I’m throwing product in my head, I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s awesome, it’s great.”
The ‘Bumblebee’ star’s comments come after he claimed in October he is now only keeping his new look because “everybody” on the Internet hates it.
He said at the time: “For that reason I going to keep it. I was going to get it cut after the movie was over, but I’m going to keep it just because I like embracing the uncomfortable and it’s certainly a great way to handle negativity.”

Serena Williams wants to learn coding

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams wants to learn computer coding.
The 37-year-old tennis star has admitted that being a world champion tennis player isn’t quite enough of an achievement for her, as she’d love to sink her teeth into a new project and learn how to code – especially for the benefit of her online fashion brand.
Speaking at the Teen Vogue Summit in LA, Serena – whose husband is Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, with whom she has 15-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia – said: “It’s really important to me, especially because my fashion business is all online. It’s never too late to start.”
And if her tech savvy husband can’t help her learn how to code, she might have a mentor in model Karlie Kloss, who set up the organisation Kode With Klossy, which arms young women with the tools they need to enter the tech world.
Asked why she decided to learn how to code, Karlie said: “I wanted to understand the secret language of code and how things worked. Whether it’s social media, apps, software, or hardware, to understand how technology built it is fascinating. I also wanted to know if this was something that I could learn. I started Kode With Klossy because as my mind opened to understanding how mighty coding is, I wanted to share that with you.”
The 26-year-old model would likely be more than happy to teach Serena, as she previously branded the tennis icon as “extraordinary”.
Karlie added: “Serena is one of the most extraordinary women on the planet. She challenges the status quo in so many ways, and I learn from her constantly.”

Kelly Brook’s Christmas disaster

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Brook’s Christmas tree decorations have been destroyed – after her boyfriend failed to secure their tree properly.
The 39-year-old model and her partner Jeremy were set to welcome the festive cheer into their home this weekend by putting up their Christmas tree, but things took an unexpected turn when the plant tumbled to the ground, smashing the expensive glass ornaments Kelly had purchased to decorate the traditional pine.
She said: For the very first time to put up our Christmas tree together. I was so happy that he was in to it because I’ve always put the tree up with my girl friend and we have Baileys and we make a whole day of it.
“So when Jeremy showed just a slight bit of enthusiasm for the day I thought ‘Oh Jeremy this is all my dreams come true.’ So we went to the garden centre, we picked the most beautiful tree we could find, we came home, and he carried it over his shoulder in his rugged kind of chequered shirt.
“And there he is putting it up and it did look a little bit wonky but I didn’t want to kind of, you know. And I said are you sure its secure and he says ‘Yes, yes it’s really secure’ and I said ‘Ok that’s fine.’
After securing the tree, Jeremy took a trip to the gym leaving Kelly to adorn the plant with her “lovely glass” decorations – until a knock at the door left the tree unattended.
Speaking as she presented Heart FM’s drive time show with JK, she said: “He said ‘OK I’m just going to go to the gym now’ and I said ‘Ok by the time you get back I’ll have the dinner on and the tree will be lit and it will be beautiful’.
“So there I am, by the way I did spend all my birthday money on Christmas decorations. So I bought all these lovely glass things and started decorating the tree and there was a little knock at the door. So I’ve gone out to see to the door and as I’ve come back in, I couldn’t see my tree. He hadn’t secured it properly. So it was on the floor. And all my beautiful glass ornaments were smashed to smithereens.
Tune into Heart Drivetime with JK and Kelly (in for Lucy Horobin), weekdays from 4pm – 7pm.

Lance Bass wants home improvements show

OHMYGOSSIP — Lance Bass wants his own “renovation show”.
The NSYNC singer has “renovated several homes” of his own throughout the years, and as he and his husband Michael Turchin plan on flipping a property in Palm Springs ahead of the arrival of their first child, the star has said he’d love to have his own home renovation programme with Michael.
Lance said: “I’ve renovated several homes. If I had my own renovation show, I would include my husband a lot because he is an amazing interior designer and artist, so I think his vision would be beautiful.
“We haven’t started one yet, but we are in the market for a Palm Springs place to flip just because I think it would be so much fun to work with the aesthetic. The era of the ’50s and the ’70s – that would be really fun for us to play with.”
And although the 39-year-old musician and actor loves the interior decorating process, he says his favourite part of renovating a home is “demo day”, when parts of the property get demolished.
He added: “I love the conception part but my favourite day is demo day where you get to get a hammer and get all your frustration out.”
Lance claims he’s always had an eye for design as he had an “eclectic” mix of styles as a child, including duck wallpaper and ‘Transformers’ bed sheets.
Speaking to People magazine, he said: “I loved ducks at one point in my life, so my room was full of duck wallpaper. Very eclectic.
“When I was a kid ‘Transformers’ were my favourite thing, so I had the ‘Transformers’ sheets and the window treatments.”

Meryl Streep can’t watch her old movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Meryl Streep can’t watch her old movies because she was “so unhappy” whilst filming them.
The 69-year-old actress might be a Hollywood icon with an extensive filmography, but the star says she won’t watch any of her old movies, because they bring back memories of a time when she wasn’t happy with her appearance.
She said: “I’ll come upon a movie I’m in, and I’m very young and very beautiful. But I was so unhappy. I thought my nose was too big, I thought I was fat. Because these are things that people tell you.”
The ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ actress played with her image throughout her career, and says she often purposely took on roles that would take away her beauty, so audiences had to focus on her talent.
Speaking to Stephen Colbert at the annual Montclair Film fundraiser in New Jersey, Meryl is quoted by Vanity Fair as saying: “I could play older when I was young. I could play a man in ‘Angels in America’. I could screw around with how I looked. Which to me is a political act: to say ‘it’s not always going to attract your lust or your interest, or anything to do with ingratiation.'”
Despite her own hang-ups with her body, supermodel Cindy Crawford recently revealed she used to look up to Meryl as a “beautiful woman” when she was growing up and dreaming of a modelling career.
She said: “I really looked up to, of course, beautiful women like Marilyn Monroe and I loved Jane Fonda and Meryl Streep. But I also like strong women and also professional women. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a nuclear physicist, so I looked up to women that were scientists.”
