Saoirse Ronan dating co-star

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan is reportedly dating Jack Lowden.
The 24-year-old actress is said to have struck up a romance with her ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ co-star but others working on the movie had no idea they were together until a screening of the movie in New York on Tuesday (04.12.18).
A source told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “We don’t know when they got together, we only found out on Tuesday night when they rolled up together — but they seem very happy and sweet.”
After the screening, the ‘Lady Bird’ actres and the 28-year-old actor looked very close at the afterparty at Tavern on the Green.
An insider observed: “Jack was following her all over. He even followed her to the bathroom and was waiting outside for her. They were very close.”
The pair were joined at the bash by Saoirse’s mother Monica, but the group had to cut short their celebrations as the actress had to fly back to the set of ‘Little Women’.
Before they started shooting the film, Jack said he was excited to work with the ‘Brooklyn’ actress.
He gushed: “She’s lovely . . . I can’t wait for that it’s going to be fun.”
Saoirse was previously believed to be dating the ‘Dunkirk’ actor’s brother Calum, a ballet dancer, after they met at the BAFTAs earlier this year, but she has been increasingly spotted with Jack in recent months, including on a vacation to the Dominican Republic.
The ‘Lovely Bones’ actress has previously admitted she isn’t very good at dating because she doesn’t know what to do.
She said: “I don’t know how to date … I don’t date, I’m not into the whole, ‘Let’s go out for dinner.’ ”

Jada Pinkett Smith resented her father

OHMYGOSSIP — Jada Pinkett Smith’s dad told her he couldn’t be a father to her when she was just seven years old.
The ‘Girls Trip’ actress’ parent, Robsol Pinkett Jr. battled with drug addiction for decades before he died in 2010 and she admitted she always held a lot of “resentment” towards him when she was growing up.
Speaking with her half-brother, Caleeb Pinkett, and her regular ‘Red Table Talk’ co-stars, her daughter Willow and mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones, she said: “We had a lot of resentment.
“We had that feeling like we had to be responsible for him, but he never had to be responsible for us, and that was a hard pill for me to swallow.
“He told me at seven, ‘I can’t be your father. I’m a criminal, I’m an addict and that’s just what it is.’ ”
The 47-year-old actress only learned over the phone from her brother that Rob had died from an overdose shortly after she’d had a “horrendous” argument with him.
She said: “The most difficult part of him dying like that is because he and I had had a horrendous fight when I found out that he relapsed.
“I was like, ‘I don’t owe you nothing. You didn’t do s**t for me, you didn’t do s**t for Caleeb. I don’t owe you nothing.’ It was one of those.”
And it took Jada until after her dad’s passing to be able to find sympathy for him and his struggles but her revelations helped her to find “utter forgiveness”.
She said: “I had the most startling realisation that Rob’s life wasn’t about him being my father.
“Rob’s life was about Rob being on his journey, and it just so happened along the way that he gave me life. … And in that moment I realised he was not born to be my dad. That wasn’t the only thing he was here to do. He’s a person first, with his own journey
“”That was my ‘aha’ moment of, like, utter forgiveness, to be able to see him as human being. That’s when I started, even in my own life, tearing down all these titles and labels. … For the last seven years I’ve been in search of emotional independence, where you don’t need people to be something for you. That has been the greatest gift in my journey.”

She shared: “This year is the first year that Kanye and I are having our Christmas Eve party at our house.
“We’re taking it over from my mom. She’s still throwing it but it’s at our house. We have a little bit more space.”
Kim revealed she’s already been considering the rules she wants to impose on her guests.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star told E! News: “My goal is that I’m going to get a theme going of what the family should wear, tell them to come 30 minutes early with a photographer, do a quick shot with everyone outside and maybe do a New Year’s card.
“I might have to really say, ‘Guys, I’m planning this. I’m giving you a time, place and no exceptions. Be there or you’re not allowed in to the party.'”
Meanwhile, Kim previously revealed that becoming a mother has changed her outlook on life, saying she now “doesn’t give a f**k about anything” other than her family and credited her 41-year-old spouse and their three kids for helping to keep her “grounded”.
She explained: “Being a mom just not makes you give a f**k about anything else but what’s immediately going on inside, like in your home, in your family – like all the other stuff kind of fades away.
“Nothing matters but your family, so I think it really helps you centre and get grounded.”

Viola Davis teaches daughter about ‘commitment’

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis is teaching her daughter about “commitment”.
The ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ actress has made a point of instilling the virtue into eight-year-old Genesis – who she has with husband Julius Tennon – “every day” and making sure she learns how to live “with a greater goal”.
She explained to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Every day one of my biggest things with Genesis lately is about commitment. It’s about dedicating yourself to something even on days when you don’t feel like it.
“It’s understanding that you have to live your life with a greater goal in mind. If you want it, then you have to commit yourself to it.”
“Making people really understand commitment, especially at eight, is very, very difficult and that’s the biggest thing about today because I’m getting a leadership award.”
Viola opened up before she accepted the Sherry Lansing Leadership award at the Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment 2018 Breakfast.
Her husband also revealed his own daily words to inspire Genesis, who they adopted together in 2011.
He added: “I’m always telling her to guard her heart and to be the best she can be. Everyday I tell her that – your heart belongs to you.”
Viola, 53, also opened up to The Hollywood Reporter in honour of her prize, and admitted she has learned to accept herself as a woman in Hollywood and not feel a need to play a part in any meetings.
She explained: “Now, I don’t have to walk into the room like a dude, and have a pretend penis and sling it on the table and say, ‘I’m in the room now. You need to freaking listen to me’.
“I can come exactly how I am and I feel that my story, my understanding of people, my experiences, my vulnerability, my need to even embrace people, all of my feminine energy, is going to make me powerful.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Simons stayed awake for 24 hours following her ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ exit after downing “about 68 coffees” and eating “everything”.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star was booted out of the Australian jungle on Tuesday night (04.12.18) but she didn’t manage to get any shut-eye in during the first day she was out of camp, because she suffered from “bad acid indigestion” after chowing down on too much grub, and necking cups of coffee.
Speaking on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ spin-off ‘Extra Camp’ last night (05.12.18), she said: “I would like to confess that I have not been to sleep at all.
“I wasn’t out, I was on a coffee high. I came out [of the jungle] and I had about 68 coffees.
“And I was doing all my press like that [shakes her hands].
“Then by the time I got to bed I had such bad acid indigestion because I’d eaten everything in the world, I just laid in bed like, ‘Urghh.’ ”
Following her ‘I’m A Celebrity’ exit, Rita found it difficult to wash the camp fire smoke out of her hair, and confessed she couldn’t stop eating after being restricted to a diet of mainly rice and beans on the show.
She said: “I had a club sandwich, which I shoved in my face so quickly there wasn’t time to breathe.
“Then I got in the shower and scrubbed my entire body twice – and hair twice.
“I got out of the shower and my hair still stank of campfire smoke, and it still does a little bit now.
“Then I ate some more and some more and some more and some more and I haven’t stopped eating since.”

Tess Daly defends Strictly Come Dancing’s Ashley Roberts

OHMYGOSSIP — Tess Daly has defended Ashley Roberts’ previous dance experience – insisting she trains “as hard, if not harder” than the other ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestants.
The ‘Strictly’ co-host has leapt to the former Pussycat Dolls singer’s defence after she came under fire from several of the show’s fans because she has previously danced on stage as a pop star, but Tess insists Latin and ballroom techniques are “very different” to the girl band’s routines.
Tess said: “She’s got experience in a girl band dancing as a pop star.
“But ballroom dancing is a very different discipline. You never saw the Pussycat Dolls doing a Viennese Waltz, for example.
“It demands a different set of skills.
“She trains as hard, if not harder than anyone else. She’s in the studio 12 hours a day, they all are.”
The 49-year-old TV presenter has been really impressed with the talent on this year’s ‘Strictly’, particularly Joe Sugg and Stacey Dooley, who didn’t have any dancing experience, but admits the contestants are facing “a lot of pressure” on Saturday’s (08.12.18) semi-final.
She said: “It’s so much fun, I’m loving it. This year has been fantastic. They’ve surprised us with their ability.
“The novices are almost as good as their professional partners now.
“Joe and Stacey have never danced before – they’re in the semi-final. They’re dancing twice on Saturday – they’ve had to learn two dances in a week.
“It’s a lot of pressure on Saturday.”
Tess is also a huge fan of co-hosting the show alongside Claudia Winkleman, and admits it doesn’t feel like work when she is presenting alongside her pal.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “Its’ brilliant fun, we get on so well. It’s not like work when you’re working with your friend. You don’t have to fake any chemistry.
“It’s great to be standing by her side. We just have a giggle.”
Tess recently joined forces with Phillip Schofield to help launch Huawei’s StorySign app, which uses the telecommunications giant’s AI to instantly translate selected children’s books into sign language, opening up the world of books to deaf kids.
She said: “This is such an important moment for deaf children in the UK. Learning to read is such a huge part of growing up.
“It’s amazing to be a part of helping make that a possibility for more children and bring story time to life for the whole family.”
Pioneered by Huawei, StorySign, with the help of friendly avatar Star, uses the power of Huawei AI, to translate the featured book into perfect sign language page by page, delivering a seamless user experience.

Danai Gurira says Ryan Coogler is a ‘visionary’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danai Gurira thinks Ryan Coogler is a “visionary”.
The 40-year-old actress – who stars as Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – has hailed the ‘Black Panther’ director, and has also revealed that the much-anticipated sequel to the hit film is still in the early stages of its development.
She shared: “He’s a very stunning collaborator as well, but he’s in his process until he is willing to open that up and that is what makes him such an amazing leader.”
Danai admitted to being overwhelmed by the positive reaction to ‘Black Panther’s release.
The actress is delighted that the film – which features a predominantly black cast – has been so warmly embraced by film fans.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “We have been through an amazing and astounding year that we could never have dreamt of or imagined.
“The way the movie has been embraced, the way people have responded to it. That is the sort of art that I have always wanted to be a part of.”
Danai is also delighted that a big movie studio had the courage to invest in a storyline that wasn’t “mainstream”.
She said: “[I have always wanted to] tell stories that I believe have always been able to be told, even as a playwright, which is you can put the African front and centre, you can put the black person front and centre.
“You can create excellent stories about people who are not of the ‘mainstream’ and you will find that the mainstream is actually many things.”

Tiffany Haddish to star in 21 Jump Street reboot?

OHMYGOSSIP — Tiffany Haddish is reportedly in talks to star in the reboot of ’21 Jump Street’.
The 39-year-old actress has already opened discussions about playing one of the female leads in the Rodney Rothman-directed movie, which is being produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Tiffany is being eyed to play a teacher posing as the mother of a new student in the upcoming movie.
The Hollywood actress could star alongside Awkwafina, who is being lined up to play another of the undercover cops, according to Collider.
The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actress is said to have a lot of fans among Sony’s bosses, who are keen to cast her in the movie.
Recently, Sony has become eager to attract more female moviegoers, and the studio reportedly sees the female-driven ‘Jump Street’ as a key part of its strategy moving forward.
Meanwhile, Tiffany previously revealed she insists on “the guy fee” for her movies.
The ‘Girls Trip’ star explained that, a lot of the time, women are too afraid to ask for a higher fee as they’re unsure of their own worth.
She said: “You know what they say? A close mouth don’t get fed, and a lot of times we don’t open our mouths because we don’t even really know what we’re supposed to get.
“So, that’s why I do the research. I ask around. I’ve made friends with line producers that cut those cheques, production managers, so I can be like, ‘So, on average, how much does a girl get paid for? How much does a guy get paid?’ OK, I’m gonna ask for the guy fee on this one.”

Men in Black reboot given official title

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Men in Black’ reboot has been given the official title of ‘Men in Black International’.
The long-awaited movie – which is being directed by F. Gary Gray – has, until now, simply been known as the ‘Men in Black’ reboot or the ‘Men in Black’ spin-off, but the film has now been handed a title ahead of its release in June 2019.
The news was revealed via the movie’s official Facebook page.
‘Men in Black’ was initially launched by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in 1997, and was followed by two subsequent movies, in 2002 and 2012.
But the ‘Men in Black’ brand has been given a massive overhaul ahead of the launch of the new movie, with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson assuming the roles of the two lead characters.
Other big-name stars set to appear in the upcoming film include Kumail Najiani, Rafe Spall, Liam Neeson, and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as the returning Emma Thompson, who also starred in ‘Men in Black 3’.
Meanwhile, Chris recently admitted he loves the “in-and-out nature” of his job.
The Australian actor also revealed he’s developed more confidence as his career has progressed.
He continued: “I’ve realised my strengths are in doctoring things – sorting through the chaos and reassembling the puzzle – stealing everyone else’s ideas and taking credit for it.
“What I love about acting is the in-and-out nature of it. Whereas with directing you have to commit a minimum of two years, really. You need to be as enthusiastic about it on day one as you are at day 800. I wonder if I could maintain that stamina.”

Sylvester Stallone ‘is up there with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolph Lundgren thinks Sylvester Stallone is “up there” with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as one of Hollywood’s great filmmakers.
The 61-year-old actor – who has starred alongside Stallone in the ‘Rocky’ franchise – has hailed the American movie star, comparing him to two of the industry’s best-known filmmakers.
He said: “He’s a good guy, he’s a very clever man, and funny and witty.
“You know, because he plays these characters who don’t talk much … people think he’s that way, but he isn’t, he’s a very smart guy. One of the smartest in Hollywood.
“You don’t create three franchises – ‘Rocky’, ‘Rambo’ and ‘The Expendables’ – by being stupid, that’s for sure.
“There’s him and there’s maybe … who else? Maybe Spielberg has done stuff like that … Lucas … He’s up there.”
Dolph has reunited with Stallone for ‘Creed II’ and he’s explained how the new movie compares to Stallone’s ‘Expendables’ movies.
He told Sky News: “I’ve done five films with him.
“This was a bit different because now we’re on opposite sides, like in the first one.
“Then we did three ‘Expendables’, a little more cartoonish and we’re just cracking a few jokes and firing guns everywhere and running around, on boats or whatnot, helicopters … here we have scenes where we sit down across each other on a table and have a three-page dialogue scene.
“It was more being a fellow actor with another actor.”

Matty Healy: There is rampant misogyny in rock music

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy admits there is “rampant misogyny” within rock music.
The 1975 frontman had come under fire for recent comments in which he hit out at hip hop and “Soundcloud rap” while he was quoted as saying the same kind of sexism “doesn’t happen in rock and roll anymore”.
However, he has now taking to Twitter and said: “Just to clarify I said that misogyny wasn’t ALLOWED in rock and roll now days in a way it is in hip hop – not that it doesn’t exist, that’s maybe a misquote as I’m aware of the misogyny in rocknroll.
“I would never deny the RAMPANT misogyny that exists in Rock n Roll. It’s everywhere and has been a weirdly accepted part of it since it’s inception.
“BUT now looking at what I said – I was simplifying a complex issue without the right amount of education on the subject. (sic)”
The 29-year-old musician defended his ignorance while pointed out he does “actively” work to “support women” but admitted he is still uninformed in some areas.
He continued: “Think cos I’m so actively trying to support women (not a brag but with the record label etc) I kinda forget that im not very educated on feminism and misogyny and I cant just ‘figure stuff out’ in public and end up trivialising the complexities of such enormous, experienced issues.
“So basically, I’m sorry for saying that as I was wrong. And thanks for pointing out cos if I’m gonna do this I have to keep learning…
“Just to clarify I’m not apologising for saying ‘rock music is void of misogyny’. I didn’t say that. Any body who says that is not only thick as f**k they most probably don’t have physical eyes. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. (sic)”

Lewis Hamilton receives PETA honour

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Hamilton has been honoured as Person of the Year by PETA.
The Formula 1 champion was bestowed with the annual accolade by the animal rights organisation for his vegan diet and encouraging others to follow his lead in giving up meat, dairy and other animal-derived products.
PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk said: “Lewis Hamilton has proved to be not only a fantastic driver but also a force for good and a powerful ally of animals used for food.
“PETA is honouring him for inspiring his legions of fans to follow his lead, jump-start their own energy levels, and spare animals’ lives by going vegan.”
Lewis, 33, has previously spoken about his reasons for going vegan in a bid to save the planet.
He said: “The pollution [from greenhouse-gas emissions] coming from the amount of cows that are being produced is incredible.
“The cruelty is horrible and I don’t necessarily want to support that and I want to live a healthier life.”
And the racing driver has often used his social media accounts to urge his fans and followers to follow a vegan diet.
He previously posted: “Please find it in your heart to not support this horrific cruelty and go plant-based!”
On Instagram, part of Lewis’ official biography reads: “[Plant] Based Diet. Love Animals.”
Lewis follows in the footsteps of the likes of Ricky Gervais, Queen rocker Brian May and the late Sir Roger Moore in receiving PETA’s Person of the Year honour.
According to the organisation, every person who goes vegan saves the lives of almost 200 animals a year and reduces their risk of contracting many potentially-fatal diseases.

Eva Longoria has strong self-worth

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria could never lose her self-worth.
The 43-year-old actress – who welcomed son Santiago, her first child with husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston’ into the world in June – insisted she never felt any “pressure” to lose weight after giving birth and simply ignored anyone who criticised her fuller figure because she’s always been confident in herself.
She told People magazine: “I don’t really succumb to any pressure.
“So if people were saying, ‘Hurry up and lose weight,’ I don’t know, because I don’t listen to it.’
“I’ve had some amazing women in my life — my mom, my sisters — who really taught me about my self-worth from very early on in life.
“I come from a family of strong women, so it would have been impossible for me to lose my self-worth.”
But the ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress has now embarked on a “very serious” weight training programme and being more careful with her diet, but she’s happy she didn’t rush getting back into exercise and gave her body the time it needed to recover.
She told Us Weekly magazine: “I still love yoga, but my workouts now are more weight training. Very serious weight training.
“I really gave my body time to adjust to postpartum and post-pregnancy. You know, it had a baby! It created a human life, so I really wasn’t too hard about getting back into shape.
“Now I’m working out a lot more and watching what I eat. I’m barely starting to get back into it.”
Eva has previously admitted she hates working out and always hopes her personal trainer will cancel their sessions so she can avoid a gym visit.
She said last year: “I don’t enjoy working out. I always wish my trainer doesn’t show up! I’m always like, ‘I hope he cancels, I hope he cancels…’ ”

Keith Urban’s secret identity

OHMYGOSSIP — Keith Urban checks into hotels as ‘Pete Thurman’.
The ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’ singer – who has daughters Sunday, 10, and Faith, seven, with wife Nicole Kidman – revealed his accommodation alias was inspired by an onstage mix-up early in his career that stuck with him for a long time.
Speaking on Nova’s ‘Kate, Tim & Marty Show’ in Australia, he said: “Early on I used ‘Pete Thurman’ [as the name I checked in under].
“Early in my career at some big state fair in Minneapolis, and the guy at the front I swear, it sounded like ‘Ladies and Gentleman, Please Welcome, Pete Thurman!’ And that was my check in for a long time!”
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old country star recently told how his family “lost everything” when their house burned down when he was 10.
He said: “When I was 10 our house burned down so I know that feeling of losing your house. We completely lost everything.
“Luckily we were all okay.
“When you’re walking through the house and it’s just charred and black as black everywhere you look and there’s water still dripping everywhere and the firemen have left…and I remember thinking, ‘I was just in here this morning getting ready for school and now it’s just…’ It gives me chills.”
But the ‘Never Comin’ Down’ singer praised the “unbelievable” way the community came together to support his family and expressed praise to the “amazing” response towards those who have been affected by the recent wildfires in California.
He told ‘Extra’: “I’m literally helping out one of my friends out there get back on their feet…
“What I remember [when our home burned down] is the community coming together in such an incredible way… And not just the Goodwills and the Salvation Armys and the Red Crosses, which also came to our aid, but also the community with clothing and food and shelter and a place to stay — unbelievable. And you’re seeing it out in California. right now. It’s really amazing.”

Eric Richard to return to EastEnders as soap revisits Kat Moon’s past

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric Richard will return to ‘EastEnders’ later this month as the soap revisits Kat Moon’s horrific past.
The former ‘The Bill’ actor made his debut as former cabbie Maurice last week when the character told Kat – played by Jessie Wallace – that her late father Charlie Slater (Derek Martin) may have known about the sexual abuse she suffered from her evil Uncle Harry.
The news came as a huge shock to the outspoken Walford woman, and resulted in her losing concentration and running over an elderly guy on her moped on the way home.
But that predicament is certainly not over as Kat will spot the OAP she mowed down, leaving her all flustered again, so much so she tells husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) what happened.
Alfie attempts to make things right by getting in contact with Maurice, who heads to the Slater house for a chat.
But Kat is less than impressed when she finds the former cab driver in her house, and Alfie attempts to get her to speak to him.
Kat’s Uncle Harry raped her when she was a child, and she later gave birth to Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
Harry was introduced to ‘EastEnders’ fans in May 2001, played by Michael Elphick, but he left Walford in October 2001, and the character later died of a heart attack off-screen in February 2002.
Eric, 78, will have no doubt spotted a familiar face in the green room because Scott Maslen – who plays Jack Branning on the soap – appeared as The Bill’s DS Phil Hunter before he first signed up to star as ex-cop Jack in Albert Square in 2007.
Billy Murray, who played corrupt cop Don Beech in ‘The Bill’ from 1995 to 2004, has also stepped foot in Walford a fair few times when he portrayed Johnny Allen in the soap from 2005 to 2006.

Daniel Day-Lewis worked for Paul Smith for a week

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Day-Lewis worked for Paul Smith for a week in preparation for ‘Phantom Thread’.
The 72-year-old fashion icon has revealed that while doing research for his 2017 drama film, the 61-year-old actor – who is known for his intense preparation for roles – spent five days learning the skills and terminology he needed for his movie, which followed the story of renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock.
Speaking on ‘Table Manners with Jessie Ware’, Paul said: “I’m a mate of Daniel Day-Lewis and he dresses really well. He worked in our tailor for a week and then he went off to work in a couturier in New York I think as well.
“He was only with us for five days I think, just to learn the terms … they’re not scissors they’re sheers you know…”
Daniel previously announced that ‘Phantom Thread’ would be his last film before retiring and leaving the industry following an illustrious acting career.
In a statement, a representative said at the time: “Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years.
“This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
The ‘There Will Be Blood’ also actor confessed that hadn’t believed in the “value” of his most-recent work.
He said: “It’s settled on me, and it’s just there … I dread to use the overused word artist, but there’s something of the responsibility of the artist that hung over me. I need to believe in the value of what I’m doing.
“The work can seem vital. Irresistible, even. And if an audience believes it, that should be good enough for me. But, lately, it isn’t.”
