Men in Black reboot given official title

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Men in Black’ reboot has been given the official title of ‘Men in Black International’.
The long-awaited movie – which is being directed by F. Gary Gray – has, until now, simply been known as the ‘Men in Black’ reboot or the ‘Men in Black’ spin-off, but the film has now been handed a title ahead of its release in June 2019.
The news was revealed via the movie’s official Facebook page.
‘Men in Black’ was initially launched by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in 1997, and was followed by two subsequent movies, in 2002 and 2012.
But the ‘Men in Black’ brand has been given a massive overhaul ahead of the launch of the new movie, with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson assuming the roles of the two lead characters.
Other big-name stars set to appear in the upcoming film include Kumail Najiani, Rafe Spall, Liam Neeson, and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as the returning Emma Thompson, who also starred in ‘Men in Black 3’.
Meanwhile, Chris recently admitted he loves the “in-and-out nature” of his job.
The Australian actor also revealed he’s developed more confidence as his career has progressed.
He continued: “I’ve realised my strengths are in doctoring things – sorting through the chaos and reassembling the puzzle – stealing everyone else’s ideas and taking credit for it.
“What I love about acting is the in-and-out nature of it. Whereas with directing you have to commit a minimum of two years, really. You need to be as enthusiastic about it on day one as you are at day 800. I wonder if I could maintain that stamina.”

Sylvester Stallone ‘is up there with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolph Lundgren thinks Sylvester Stallone is “up there” with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as one of Hollywood’s great filmmakers.
The 61-year-old actor – who has starred alongside Stallone in the ‘Rocky’ franchise – has hailed the American movie star, comparing him to two of the industry’s best-known filmmakers.
He said: “He’s a good guy, he’s a very clever man, and funny and witty.
“You know, because he plays these characters who don’t talk much … people think he’s that way, but he isn’t, he’s a very smart guy. One of the smartest in Hollywood.
“You don’t create three franchises – ‘Rocky’, ‘Rambo’ and ‘The Expendables’ – by being stupid, that’s for sure.
“There’s him and there’s maybe … who else? Maybe Spielberg has done stuff like that … Lucas … He’s up there.”
Dolph has reunited with Stallone for ‘Creed II’ and he’s explained how the new movie compares to Stallone’s ‘Expendables’ movies.
He told Sky News: “I’ve done five films with him.
“This was a bit different because now we’re on opposite sides, like in the first one.
“Then we did three ‘Expendables’, a little more cartoonish and we’re just cracking a few jokes and firing guns everywhere and running around, on boats or whatnot, helicopters … here we have scenes where we sit down across each other on a table and have a three-page dialogue scene.
“It was more being a fellow actor with another actor.”

Matty Healy: There is rampant misogyny in rock music

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy admits there is “rampant misogyny” within rock music.
The 1975 frontman had come under fire for recent comments in which he hit out at hip hop and “Soundcloud rap” while he was quoted as saying the same kind of sexism “doesn’t happen in rock and roll anymore”.
However, he has now taking to Twitter and said: “Just to clarify I said that misogyny wasn’t ALLOWED in rock and roll now days in a way it is in hip hop – not that it doesn’t exist, that’s maybe a misquote as I’m aware of the misogyny in rocknroll.
“I would never deny the RAMPANT misogyny that exists in Rock n Roll. It’s everywhere and has been a weirdly accepted part of it since it’s inception.
“BUT now looking at what I said – I was simplifying a complex issue without the right amount of education on the subject. (sic)”
The 29-year-old musician defended his ignorance while pointed out he does “actively” work to “support women” but admitted he is still uninformed in some areas.
He continued: “Think cos I’m so actively trying to support women (not a brag but with the record label etc) I kinda forget that im not very educated on feminism and misogyny and I cant just ‘figure stuff out’ in public and end up trivialising the complexities of such enormous, experienced issues.
“So basically, I’m sorry for saying that as I was wrong. And thanks for pointing out cos if I’m gonna do this I have to keep learning…
“Just to clarify I’m not apologising for saying ‘rock music is void of misogyny’. I didn’t say that. Any body who says that is not only thick as f**k they most probably don’t have physical eyes. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. (sic)”

Rob Delaney joins Jay Roach’s Roger Ailes movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Delaney has joined the cast of Jay Roach’s untitled Roger Ailes movie.
The ‘Deadpool 2’ star is to take on the role of one of Megyn Kelly’s producers in the motion picture, which will tell the story of the downfall of Ailes, the former Chairman and CEO of Fox News and Fox Television Stations, who will be played by John Lithgow, according to Deadline.
Malcolm McDowell is due to portray Rupert Murdoch in the film, which will focus on the point of view of the women who took on the toxic male culture of Fox News.
Murdoch, 87, was one of the CEO’s strongest supporters, but ultimately made the decision to sack him.
Kelly – whose decision to go public with her story of abuse is seen as a monumental moment in the story – will be portrayed by Charlize Theron.
Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie and Allison Janney have also signed up to the motion picture.
Kidman will play former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson – who sued Roger for harassment in July 2016 – with Robbie set to star as a fictional Fox News associate producer, and Janney is to take on the role of the chairman’s defence lawyer Susan Estrich.
What’s more, Ashley Greene will portray former ‘Fox & Friends’ host Abby Huntsman.
Delaney is best known for being the co-star and co-writer of hit TV show ‘Catastrophe’, and he recently made his movie breakout in ‘Deadpool 2’ alongside Ryan Reynolds, for which he didn’t even have to audition.
He recently said: “It so happened that Ryan Reynolds watched ‘Catastrophe’ and enjoyed it.
“And so he just called and said, ‘Hey, do you want to be in the movie?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’d like that’. And he was like, ‘Do you want to know what you’ll be doing?’ and I said, ‘I don’t care’.”
He has also starred in zombie comedy ‘Life After Beth’ in 2014.

Morrissey announces covers album ‘California Son’

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey has announced plans for a covers album.
The former Smiths frontman had confirmed he will be releasing a collection – titled ‘California Son’ – featuring tracks by the likes of Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell.
The tracklist for the record was unveiled by the singer on his official website late on Wednesday (05.12.18), and the LP has been produced by frequent collaborator Joe Chiccarelli.
BMG will release the LP, although Morrissey didn’t reveal a date fans can expect to be able to listen to the 12 tracks.
As well as Dylan’s ‘Only A Pawn In Their Game’ and ‘It’s Over by Orbison’, the 59-year-old star has also taken on tracks by Laura Nyro (‘Wedding Bell Blues’), Carly Simon (When You Close Your Eyes’) and Dionne Warwick (‘Loneliness Remembers What Happiness Forgets’).
The announcement comes just weeks after Morrissey was mobbed by fans in San Diego, forcing him to cut his concert short when members of the audience swarmed the stage.
His manager Peter Katsis has hit back at claims Morrissey was under threat or that any of his passionate fans tried to physically assault him.
In a statement on Facebook, he said: “Nobody tried to punch M last night. Morrissey’s fans are not malicious.
“The fans were simply doing what they have been doing for almost 30 years. Trying anything they could do to jump onstage and touch him, or hug him.”
While Peter admitted one fan went further than the others, he played down the incident and praised security for how they handled everything.
He added: “The fan in question was certainly more aggressive in reaching out for him than most, so security had to do their job and subdue the fan. That’s all it was. In the end no one was hurt, and no one was arrested.”
‘California Son’ tracklist:
1. Morning Starship (Jobriath)
2. Don’t Interrupt The Sorrow (Joni Mitchell)
3. Only A Pawn In Their Game (Bob Dylan)

Jake Gyllenhaal confirms Spider-Man role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Gyllenhaal has confirmed his casting in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’.
The 37-year-old actor was reported to have signed on for the movie six months ago and it was speculated he’d be playing evil magician Mysterio, with on set footage later adding fuel to the speculation, and now the Oscar-nominated star has used his first ever Instagram post to reveal his role.
He shared a video of himself reading a ‘Spider-Man’ comic called ‘The Return of the Man Called Mysterio’, which was initially covering his face, but he then lowered the magazine so his open-mouthed expression could be seen and then exclaimed: “Woah. What the f…”
He captioned the post: “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man.”
It was previously claimed Jake had gone up against Ryan Gosling to play the villain opposite Tom Holland as the titular webslinger, in what will be his second standalone film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A source said: “Producers were keen to sign Ryan but he was busy filming another project. Jake is a suitable alternative with experience of playing villainous characters.”
Mysterio made his first appearance issue #13 of comic book ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in 1964 and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the men responsible for giving Spider-Man to the world.
The original Mysterio is Quentin Beck, a special effects wizard and stunt man working for a major Hollywood studio who uses his expertise to pursue a life of crime after failing in his ambitions to become a rich and famous actor. There have been three different incarnations of the character since the original.
The movie is due for release in July 2019.

OHMYGOSSIP — John Barrowman says Suranne Jones agreed to be a “surrogate mother” if he wants to have kids one day.
The 51-year-old actor – who married his husband, Scott Gill, in 2013 – is “good friends” with the ‘Doctor Foster’ actress after the duo worked together in theatre production of ‘A Few Good Men’ in 2005, and he has revealed that the 40-year-old star offered to “accommodate” him when he and his partner are keen to have children.
In his book ‘Anything Goes’, John wrote: “I found a surrogate mother for my future children.
“From the play A Few Good Men I gained a good friend in actress Suranne Jones, or Sarah as she’s known to her mates.
“One night she told me that if Scott and I ever did decide we wanted to have a child of our own, she’d be happy to accommodate us.”
John also confessed he “adores kids” and would love to one day have a family of his own, but he doesn’t think Scott is “ready” just yet.
He said: “Perhaps one day I might become a dad, we have a lot of love to give and I adore kids.
“It has to be a partnership thing and I don’t think Scott is ready.”
The ‘Torchwood’ actor recently suffered a fall down some steps on Sunday’s (02.12.18) ‘I’m A Celeb’ and suffered a sprained ankle, but he was let back in the jungle after being seen in hospital and discharged.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has postponed the remainder of his December tour dates due to bruised vocal cords.
The 37-year-old singer took to Instagram to reveal doctors have instructed him to keep resting his voice to enable his vocal cords to properly heal, meaning he is not able to sing until next month.
He wrote: “Hey guys, I’m sure you have heard that I’ve had to postpone several tour dates due to bruised vocal cords. My vocal cords are healing, but they are not all the way back to normal, so my doctors want me to continue to rest my voice. They have asked me to hold off on singing until next month. I’m really sorry, I want to be back on the stage and I am doing all I can to get there quickly. Thank you for understanding — I see all of your posts and I appreciate the support and the love. I look forward to coming back stronger than I was before. More to come on the rescheduled dates. (sic)”
The ‘Cry Me a River’ hitmaker had eight remaining dates scheduled for December, and he is due to return to his tour after Christmas on January 4th in Washington.

James McVey giving I’m A Celebrity food to Harry Redknapp

OHMYGOSSIP — James McVey has been sharing his food with “struggling” Harry Redknapp on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The Vamps guitarist has been helping out his fellow campmate, because the 71-year-old football manager has been finding it tough to consume all the different types of meats offered to him in the jungle.
James’ girlfriend, model Kirstie Brittain, told The Sun newspaper: “James is being generous with his food, giving it to Harry because Harry is struggling so much with all the meats.
“James is veggie so he’s giving Harry half his veg, which is why he’s gotten so skinny. James was slim when he went in so he’s lost a lot of weight.
“Sair Khan told me how generous he has been. We’re not seeing it on screen.
“James sees Harry as a grandfather – it’s so cute. He really wants to look after him, which is why he’s giving him his food.”
Former campmate Malique Thompson-Dwyer recently revealed Harry has been encouraged to eat on the hit ITV show by his fellow contestants, because he had been so “disgusted” by the meat provided to them.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star added: “Harry has lost his sense of smell, all the meat just looks absolutely disgusting to him.
“There have been days where we have to pretty much force him to eat. He’s a fussy eater.”
Harry previously lost his sense of smell following a fatal car crash in Italy in 1990, which resulted in the death of his friend, former Aston Villa footballer Brian Tiler.
The former Spurs boss was pulled from the crash and presumed dead at the scene, but recovered after suffering a fractured skull, broken nose, cracked ribs, and a gash in his left leg.

Spice Girls to perform at Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — The Spice Girls are in talks to perform at Glastonbury.
The ‘Viva Forever’ hitmakers recently reunited for a stadium tour next year and now Mel B – who will be joined in the reunion by Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Horner, but not Victoria Beckham – has revealed they could also be taking to the stage at the world-famous music festival next June.
She said: “Glastonbury, it’s been talked about. But we’re so pop and it’s so cool — that’ll be funny to me.
“I think Mel C would really appreciate us doing that — she’s the cool one. She’s the cool indie chick.”
The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge also admitted she and her bandmates had been discussing having guest vocalists join them on tour and ‘Firework’ hitmaker Katy Perry is already on board.
Speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, she added: “I’ve also had an idea which we’ve talked about — getting other people on stage with us.
“Katy Perry has agreed to do it — hopefully Adele will do it.”
Though few official announcements about the 2019 Glastonbury line-up have been made yet, it was announced last month that Stormzy will headline the Friday night of the event.
After posters revealing the news appeared in Oxfam shop windows, organiser Emily Eavis tweeted: “Your Friday night Pyramid headliner is the mighty Stormzy!”
The event’s official Twitter account added: “The multi award-winning British MC will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th.”
The ‘Big For Your Boots’ hitmaker previously played at the festival on the Other Stage and Sonic Tent in 2017 and 2016 respectively.
Meanwhile, Emily previously hinted that Sir Paul McCartney could be one of the other top acts for the weekender next summer.
She previously said: “We always want him, of course, He’s top of our list – but we’ll have to see.”
The Cure have also been rumoured to take a headline slot at Worthy Farm.

Robin Wright is proud her sleepwear line enables ‘female empowerment’

OHMYGOSSIP — Robin Wright is proud that her charitable sleepwear line Pour Les Femmes enables “female empowerment”.
The 52-year-old actress set up the label with her lifelong friend and business partner Karen Fowler two years’ ago and profits from sales of the range go towards local charities helping Congolese women who have survived violence and provide education and vocational training, such as sewing workshops, to impoverished females in the country.
The ‘House of Cards’ star believes teaching women skills rather than simply donating money puts power back into the “hands of the individual” and it is one of her main missions.
In an interview with ELLE, she said:”I mean, that is female empowerment – putting it back in the hands of the individual. It’s empowering to have a skill, have a trade, have a knowledge of something and pass that on to somebody else and see them ascend.
“Then they’re empowered too. I think it’s just, it’s the beautiful, gradual escalation of something.”
The ‘Forrest Gump’ actress has learnt a lot since she set-up the label and she is still learning new things, such as the importance of inclusivity and making every person who is part of her team feel like they are contributing something important.
She explained: “My gosh. So many [lessons].We built from such a small grassroots, and we’re growing, and we have such a great team. I feel like I’ve really learned to listen and trust others in our company.
“To me, it’s inclusive of everyone. Everyone has a voice in our company. We’re not just the bosses, and we listen to everyone, and it’s nice. I think it empowers them. We have a girl that’s 20 years old in our company and she’s sweet and young and she was quiet. Now she’s not, and she’s got a voice. I think she’s developing and growing and I’m proud of that.”

Daniel Day-Lewis worked for Paul Smith for a week

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Day-Lewis worked for Paul Smith for a week in preparation for ‘Phantom Thread’.
The 72-year-old fashion icon has revealed that while doing research for his 2017 drama film, the 61-year-old actor – who is known for his intense preparation for roles – spent five days learning the skills and terminology he needed for his movie, which followed the story of renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock.
Speaking on ‘Table Manners with Jessie Ware’, Paul said: “I’m a mate of Daniel Day-Lewis and he dresses really well. He worked in our tailor for a week and then he went off to work in a couturier in New York I think as well.
“He was only with us for five days I think, just to learn the terms … they’re not scissors they’re sheers you know…”
Daniel previously announced that ‘Phantom Thread’ would be his last film before retiring and leaving the industry following an illustrious acting career.
In a statement, a representative said at the time: “Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years.
“This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
The ‘There Will Be Blood’ also actor confessed that hadn’t believed in the “value” of his most-recent work.
He said: “It’s settled on me, and it’s just there … I dread to use the overused word artist, but there’s something of the responsibility of the artist that hung over me. I need to believe in the value of what I’m doing.
“The work can seem vital. Irresistible, even. And if an audience believes it, that should be good enough for me. But, lately, it isn’t.”

Ariana Grande is ’60 percent champagne’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande is “60 per cent” champagne.
The ‘No More Tears Left To Cry’ hitmaker – who has suffered a difficult few months in her personal life following the death of her former boyfriend Mac Miller and the end of her engagement to Pete Davison – admitted she has been drinking a lot lately and joked the fluids in her body now consist more of alcohol than anything else.
She said: “I don’t think I’ve ever consumed more alcohol than I have in the past month. I am champagne. You know how people say we’re 60 percent water? I’m 60 percent pink Veuve Clicquot.”
And the 25-year-old singer even revealed champagne helped inspire her latest single ‘Thank U, Next’.
Discussing the success of the track, she said: “I can’t believe it but, like, so can. It’s me and my besties tipsy off champagne — and me with a broken heart — just letting it out and having fun. I love this more than any other song I’ve ever put out.”
Another song on her new album, ‘7 Rings’ was written after a “challenging” day that saw Ariana and her pals buy engagement rings in an alcohol-fuelled shopping trip to cheer themselves up.
She told Billboard magazine: “It was a… challenging fall day in New York. Me and my friends went to Tiffany’s together, just because we needed some retail therapy.
“You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring.
“That’s why we have these, and that’s where the song idea came from.”
Ariana was rocked last year when her concert in Manchester, North West England, was hit by a terrorist attack and the tragedy has completely change her priorities.
She said: “I guess there’s not much I’m afraid of anymore. When life tries you with such serious s**t so many times, your priorities change. I don’t give a s**t. I just want to be happy and healthy – one day – and make music.”

John C Reilly: I’ve been preparing to play Oliver Hardy my ‘whole life’

OHMYGOSSIP — John C Reilly feels he’s been preparing to play Oliver Hardy his “whole life”.
The 53-year-old actor has admitted he relished portraying the silent comedy star in ‘Stan & Ollie’, which also stars fellow comic actor Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel.
He explained: “I have been preparing for that role my whole life. Ever since I started watching Oliver Hardy.”
The new movie focuses on the fortunes of the comedy duo – who became well-known figures during the 1920s – after their fame and popularity had peaked.
John told Metro US: “The main focus of that story is their last theatrical tour in England, Ireland and Scotland.
“We shot most of it, pretty much everything in England, places like Brighton, Bristol, old towns like that, and London.”
John often forms part of a double act in his on-screen roles, and the American star – who also appears alongside Will Ferrell in the upcoming ‘Holmes & Watson’ movie – admitted he is perfectly suited to the particular dynamic.
He said: “I have been really lucky, it is not just that I am drawn to duos it is that audiences are drawn to duos. There are a lot of duo things out there.
“I have been lucky to get to work with some really talented partners in all of those films.”
John also admitted that starring in a double act lessens the pressure on himself.
He shared: “It shares the workload everyday. And if things go south it isn’t all your fault – that’s another benefit.”

Chrissy Metz had bad online date

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Metz once dodged an online date after catching sight of him.
The ‘This Is Us’ actress admitted she dabbled in Internet matchmaking at a time when it wasn’t “cool” but her attempt at a face-to-face meet up with a guy she’d been messaging with what cut short before it even began when they saw one another walking to the venue and each decided not to prolong contact.
Speaking to Busy Phillips on ‘Busy Tonight’, she said: “I have not been ghosted, however, there was a gentleman years ago, when it was like not even cool to talk about that you met online. Like, you don’t mention it. And I didn’t…I didn’t, until now.
“And this guy and I agreed to meet, and I think we exchanged one or two pictures. And we’re like, OK, we’ll meet at this bar, at this time. And so literally I park my car, and I’m walking, he’s walking, we see each other and we’re like…neeee [veer off]. We didn’t need to waste time, you know like, we already figured it out. We knew. Energetically it was not right for me.”
The 38-year-old actress hopefully won’t be returning to online dating any more as she confirmed she’s in a relationship again, a few weeks after she was romantically linked with 25-year-old composer Hal Rosenfeld.
She added: “I did [continue to online date], but I now have a boyfriend. So no more of the online dating.”
Chrissy had been single since splitting from cameraman Josh Stancil in March, six months after the actress – who was married to British journalist Martyn Eaden from 2008 until 2013 – insisted she was in no rush to walk down the aisle again.
She said last September: “Nobody is trying to get married!”
“I was previously married to an amazing man, we’re still friends, but it’s not something that… I want to figure out what’s going on. This needs to be about me and I, of course, can have a healthy relationship — but I’m not in any rush to get married.”

Mel C goes on Sleep Walk to help the homeless

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel C took part in the inaugural Sleep Walk for Shelter on Wednesday night (05.12.18) to raise money to support the hundreds of thousands of families at risk of homelessness this Christmas.
The Spice Girls star joined the 10-kilometre walk in the night time
which started from the UK’s leading housing and homelessness charity to raise funds and awareness to help the 131,000 children who will be waking up on Christmas morning without a permanent home – the highest number in over a decade.
Mel, 44, wanted to get involved in the project because she thinks it is terrible that so many people are facing the festive period on the streets.
The ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker said: “Shelter’s new figures on homelessness are shocking, so it’s more important than ever that we support those who are at risk of losing their homes.
“It’s amazing to see so many people come together today for Shelter’s first Sleep Walk, and with our help, Shelter can change tomorrow and ensure everyone has somewhere to call home this Christmas.”
Shelter is the UK’s leading housing and homelessness charity that supports millions of people every year who are struggling with bad housing or homelessness.
New analysis from Shelter has found a 59 per cent increase in the number of homeless children over the last five years and the charity warns the impact of the housing crisis will be felt across a generation as one in every 103 children in Britain is now homeless.
The Sleep Walk for Shelter united over 1,000 Londoners to brave the winter conditions and walk across the capital at night – starting at Liverpool Street and finishing in Waterloo – to take a stand against homelessness and raise much needed funds to fight the crisis.
Greg Beales, director at Shelter, said: “We need support more than ever to provide helpline advice and services that enable people to keep their homes over Christmas.
“Sleep Walk is about uniting the capital while raising vital funds to help us to change tomorrow and ensure every child has somewhere they can call home.”
The inaugural Sleep Walk for Shelter is being trialled in London this year with a view to similar events taking place in major cities across the UK in 2019.
