Victoria bosses cast David Burnett as new hunk to heat things up

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Victoria’ bosses are looking at heating up the new series by introducing new hunk David Burnett to the cast.
It’s said producers for the ITV drama are keen for the star to strip off in steamy scenes after seeing out Aidan Turner’s shirtless moments have done for the BBC’s ‘Poldark’ ratings.
As reported by The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column, the actor is set to play Joseph, who will have a romantic affair with a member of the royal household in a bid to bump up its viewership following a bit of a decline.
Although the first series pulled in an impressive six million viewers, almost half of that – 3.7 million – tuned in for the secod season.
An ITV source added: “Bosses hope making the show racier will turn its fortunes around.”
The third series is set to air in the spring, but leading lady Jenna Coleman isn’t sure how much longer she’ll be able to play Queen Victoria herself.
She previously said: “She’s starting to look more matronly. There will come a point when no amount of prosthetic make-up or me lowering my voice will be convincing enough.”
And Jenna has also revealed how she initially turned down the role twice before accepting because she was initially wary of signing up for another long-running show after leaving ‘Doctor Who’.
She said: “I had just finished doing nearly four years on ‘Doctor Who’ and I didn’t want to do another long TV project.
“I wanted to do lots of different things, but now I’m doing ‘Victoria’, I find her quite addictive.”

Charli XCX to release new album in 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has vowed to release a new album in 2019.
The ‘5 in the Morning’ singer had initially told fans last year that she would make her first record since 2014’s ‘Sucker Punch’ if her latest single ‘1999’ went into the top 10.
And now she has updated her loyal following to say it’s “about time” she releases her next the full-length effort.
Sharing her New Year’s Resolutions written on an iPhone Note, which read: “New Years Resolutions:
“1. Make an album
“2. Release it (sic)”, she captioned the Twitter post: “about time, right?? (sic)”
The 26-year-old pop star was blown away by how well ‘1999’, which features Troye Sivan, performed in the charts – it peaked at number 13 in UK – and had said she planned on rewarding her fans, known as her Angels, by dropping her first studio album in five years, if the track shifted two places up.
Sharing a link to download the track, Charli tweeted in December: “UMMM ANGELS WTF?! IF THIS GOES TOP 10 I’LL MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM AND DROP IT NEXT YEAR. https://ad.gt/1999 (sic)”
Despite having released two mixtapes – ‘Number 1 Angel’ and ‘Pop 2’ – and several singles since her last full album, Charli recently admitted she doesn’t have a plan when it comes to her music in the future.
Asked if she’s planning a third full-length record, she said: “You know, I don’t really know. I don’t really have a plan, so to speak. I’m just kind of releasing what I want when I want. I’m not sure what’s next. Maybe it’s an album, maybe it’s not an album, maybe there’s never an album, maybe there are 10 more mixtapes. I’m just kind of doing what I want to do and seeing where I go.”

Sandra Oh’s terrifying Golden Globes co-hosting gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Sandra Oh couldn’t turn down the “terrifying” job of co-hosting the 2019 Golden Globes.
The ‘Killing Eve’ star will present the prestigious ceremony alongside her close pal Andy Samberg on Sunday (06.01.19), and though she is freaking out about the big job, there was no chance of her turning the gig down.
In a joint interview with the ‘Saturday Night Live’ star for The Hollywood Reporter, she confessed: “Honestly, I said yes even though it was so terrifying to me, really terrifying. I just could not let this opportunity pass me by, the life experience of being this scared of something.”
On her bond with Andy, she quipped: “We’re soul mates. We’re f***in’ co-dependent soul mates.”
The 40-year-old comedian teased that he hopes to host the show in the style of previous presenting duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – who hosted three times between 2012 and 2014, before Ricky Gervais stepped up to the role again in 2015.
The ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ star also praised Seth Meyers for managing through a “tricky” ceremony in 2018, which highlighted the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements following the wave of claims of sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood, and saw him take on predators Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey in his monologue.
Andy said: “Seth [Meyers] was incredible last year–and it was such a tricky year with everything that was coming to light, and he really threaded the needle well — but the years that are more like how I would dream of doing it were Tina and Amy’s.
“I like playing off someone else and having there be a looseness to it and the ability to try things that are not necessarily just straight jokes to prompter.”
Andy also joked that he’s going to make a “fake tinfoil” statuette for Sandra if she doesn’t win Best Actress in a Drama TV series for ‘Killing Eve’, which sees the Canadian star play British intelligence agent Eve Polastri.
He added: “That’s why I’m excited to do it with you ’cause you’re such an incredible performer.
“I’m obsessed with ‘Killing Eve’. I hope you win. I’m going to make you a crappy little tinfoil fake Globe, just in case you don’t win, and I’m going to bring it out and give it to you and be like, ‘You’re always a winner to me.'”

James Norton felt time was right to leave Grantchester

OHMYGOSSIP — James Norton’s real life family will appear in his final season of ‘Grantchester’.
The 33-year-old actor will leave his role of Sidney Chambers after the upcoming fourth series, and he admitted while his father always lands a cameo in his projects, he managed to get his mother and aunts on camera too.
Speaking to Whats On TV, he said: “Yes, in fact this is a bit embarrassing: we’ve got a scene where there’s a big outdoor fete and not only is my dad coming, but my mum and my two aunts as well!
“They’ve been begging me the whole time, ‘Please can we?’ So my Aunt Bridget and Aunt Alison are going to be people visiting the fete.”
While he will be sad to say goodbye to the ITV detective drama, he is looking forward to continuing as Tommy Lee Royce on ‘Happy Valley’, and moving into work on the big screen.
He added: “Sally Wainwright is writing a third series of Happy Valley and I’m starting to venture into film, so it feels like the right time to challenge myself.
“I fancy an adventure – I’d love to spend a bit more time in New York or LA, I’m open to opportunities.”
Meanwhile, James also admitted he had some “absurd” ideas for his character’s exit storyline, but did tease that it will feature some kind of “romantic mess”.
He said: “I had a couple of light-hearted conversations with the producers offering my absurd, far-fetched versions of his exit, but inevitably they weren’t picked up! I don’t think it’s a surprise that Sidney finds himself entangled in a complicated romantic mess again.”

Black Mirror’s Will Poulter takes Twitter break after Bandersnatch criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Poulter has quit Twitter after ‘Black Mirror’ criticism for the sake of his mental health.
The 25-year-old actor played video game developer Colin Ritman in the dark anthology series’ new interactive special ‘Bandersnatch’, and he has addressed some backlash over the episode.
In a lengthy social media post, Will wrote: “In light of my recent experiences I am choosing to take a step back, of sorts, from Twitter.
“Before I do, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everybody who has watched ‘Bandersnatch’ and for their responses (whatever they may be) to the material we created.
“I accept all criticisms and it’s been a delight to learn that so many of you enjoyed what many people worked very hard to produce! As we all know there is a balance to be struck in our engagements with social media.
“There are positives to enjoy and inevitable negatives that are best avoided. It’s a balance that I have struggled with for a while now and in the interest of my mental health I feel the time has come to change my relationship with social media.”
However, the star insisted he would still be using his account to promote the charities he works with, including an anti-bullying campaign.
Referencing the ‘choose your own adventure’ nature of the Netflix project, he cheekily added: “This is not the end. Consider it an alternative path.”
Meanwhile, ‘Black Mirror’ creator Charlie Brooker has admitted the ambitious episode was more difficult to create than he anticipated.
‘Bandersnatch’ put the viewers in control of their own experiences by allowing them to choose where the story would branch off to, with five possible endings each with their own variants.
Asked if he had any advice for people looking at interactive television, the show’s creator quipped: “Run away. It’s harder than you think.”

Bumblebee writer hopes film will inspire young women

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bumblebee’ writer Christina Hodson hopes Hailee Steinfeld’s character, Charlie Watson, will inspire young women to get involved with engineering.
Christina admits one of her wishes for the movie is that girls will watch the adventures of Charlie and the Transformers character and become interested in mechanics and robotics and feel as though those career options are open to them rather than just to boys.
When asked in an interview with Variety, whether she hoped the 22-year-old star’s character would encourage women to participate in more male-dominated genres, she said: “I hope so, I really do. I grew up obsessed with mechanics. I very almost became an engineer. In England, we do A Levels, when you pick three subjects you want to [pursue].
“So I did physics, maths, and English, [which] was my token thing that I threw in there. Obviously, it worked out well and it ended up being what I did for the rest of my life, but I was always much more mechanically minded. I loved building things and making things. I never particularly called myself a “tomboy.” I never loved the idea of labels. ”
The ‘Birds of Prey’ screenwriter acknowledges that the ‘Transformers’ franchise and toys have traditionally been aimed at boys but she thinks it is “nonsense” to label things and loves the idea of “blurring the lines” between gender roles.
She continued: “I think there’s such a cultural desire to put labels on things. Growing up, there always used to be a boys’ toys aisle and a girls’ toys aisle. And I just think it’s nonsense. So I kind of love the idea of just blurring the lines and letting there be a girl who likes cars and mechanical things and who is good at it.”

John Cena joined Bumblebee to show off acting ability

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena joined ‘Bumblebee’ to show there is a “little more dimension” to his acting.
The WWE star-and-actor stars as the evil Sector 7 agent Jack Burns in the ‘Transformers’ franchise movie, which hit cinema screens last month, and he enjoyed being able to delve deeper into the story of his “conflicted” alter-ego.
He told website INQUIRER.net: “I’ve always wanted to show a little more dimension and play a conflicted character. What’s fun about doing a prequel is that we get to delve into the unanswered questions from the earlier movies. This takes place years before Sector 7 has become the established institution it is when we meet Agent Simmons in the first film. It was highly classified then, so you can only imagine how secretive it is 20 years earlier.”
And Cena could get to go further into the mind of the agent in the future, as the movie’s director Travis Knight recently revealed he already has ideas for a ‘Bumblebee’ sequel.
The 45-year-old actor said that he’s already thinking about “what’s next” for the main characters, and has plenty of ideas that could make a sequel “if the world wants more”.
He said: “When I get to the end of one of my movies, I always imagine what’s next for the characters. And so, in my mind, I’ve got all these scenarios and adventures that play out, both with Charlie and with Bee and everyone else. We’ll see if the world wants more. Maybe we’ll explore some of those things.”
‘Bumblebee’ is the sixth instalment of the live-action ‘Transformers’ movies, and is set as a prequel to 2007’s original ‘Transformers’, so any sequel to the new movie would have to fit in between those timelines.
Whilst Travis hasn’t revealed what his ideas for a sequel might be, they likely won’t involve focusing on a different Autobot, as ‘Bumblebee’ producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently claimed making a movie focused solely on the Autobot leader Optimus Prime would be “hard”.
He said: “It will be hard with Optimus, he is always right, very stoic and is a man of few words … It is kind of like saying, ‘Lets do a movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi?’ But how much is there to say about Obi-Wan? It is not so easy.”
If a ‘Bumblebee’ sequel does happen, it could also see main human characters including Charlie Watson (played by Hailee Steinfeld) and Jack Burns (John Cena) return to screens.

Bring Me The Horizon release new song medicine tonight

OHMYGOSSIP — Bring Me The Horizon will release “electronic and radio-friendly” single ‘medicine’ tonight (03.01.19).
The Sheffield rockers have shared a series of clips teasing the track and the music video for the third single taken from their much-anticipated sixth studio album, ‘amo’, on social media.
Alongside the latest video, they teased that the song will get its first official airing on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Sounds with Annie Mac’ show from 7pm.
They captioned the Twitter post: “Tomorrow. radio 1. annie mac’s hottest record.
7:30pм gmt (sic)’
Keyboardist Jordan Fish previously said of the track: “It’s about people who are negative influences and how when they leave your life things get much better. It’s a mixture of the electronic and radio-friendly elements of our band, but it’s still got characteristics of some of the bigger songs we’ve done before. You’d need to ask Oli who exactly that’s about, but I can think of a few people it might be about…”
‘medicine’ follows ‘wonderful life’ featuring Cradle of Filth’s Dani Filth and lead single ‘Mantra’.
Frontman Oli Sykes recently commented on the band’s more commercial sound as they expand their musical horizons from their heavier beginnings.
He suggested as long as the songs remain “exciting and exhilarating”, they will still stand out from the crowd.
He explained: “Even if it’s a poppier song, it’s a million times more exciting than the shit you hear on the radio. It’s emotional, it’s got depth, and it’s always going to grab you and make you feel something.”
Meanwhile, Oli recently admitted he thinks hip hop is the new punk.
The ‘Throne’ hitmaker has put what he sees as the “boring” rock scene on notice and suggested rappers are bringing the energy and excitement that the genre has started to lack.
He said: “That’s why rappers are almost the new rock’n’roll or punk or whatever. Rock’s gone soft, it’s gone miserable and boring, there’s not really much exciting about it.
“So it’s important that we cross over, because we feel like we belong more in a place where people just like music and it’s not about how heavy it is.”
‘amo’ – the follow-up to 2015’s ‘That’s The Spirit’ – is released on January 11.

Cardi B to release album this year

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B will release an album this year.
The 26-year-old rapper has revealed her second studio album will be released later this year, following her debut record ‘Invasion of Privacy’, which hit shelves in April 2018.
Speaking during an Instagram Live broadcast, the ‘I Like It’ hitmaker said: “Of course it’s gonna be an album in 2019. Hopefully, I could get my album done around the same time that ‘Invasion of Privacy’ came out, but I don’t know how possible that’s gonna be because I feel like I’m going to be extremely, extremely busy.”
‘Invasion of Privacy’ was one of 2018’s most celebrated albums after it achieved multiplatinum status, and made Cardi the first female artist to have every track on an album certified gold or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The album was the third most streamed album of 2018 on Apple Music, and the most streamed for a female artist, whilst on Spotify, Cardi was crowned again as the most streamed female, but the album was fourth overall.
Meanwhile, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper recently revealed she’s feeling “pressure and anxiety” to deliver a second hit record, after the critical acclaim of her first release.
Responding to the news of her RIAA certification on Twitter last month, Cardi wrote: “BIG MOMMA BARDI !! Im happy my album is amazing but I got sooo much pressure and anxiety cause I know I gotta kill it with my second one (sic)”
Whilst Cardi hasn’t released any new music of her own since the release of the album, she previously said she was planning on unveiling at least five new tracks, which didn’t make the cut for ‘Invasion Of Privacy’.
In an Instagram Live, she said at the time: “There’s about five songs that I was supposed to put on ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ but they didn’t fit and make sense. So I’m gonna put it on this project that I really want to put out on September 1st, but I’m missing like four or five songs. I got four or five songs I gotta finish for this project and I got like six features I still got to do [for other artists].”

Ariana Grande to headline Coachella 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande, Tame Impala and Childish Gambino will headline Coachella 2019.
The ‘Imagine’ singer, Kevin Parker-fronted indie band and acclaimed rapper – whose real name is Donald Glover – are all set to perform twice at the annual music extravaganza, which is held between April 12 and April 14 and April 19 and April 21 in Indio, California.
Ariana is set to perform on both Sundays, Kevin and co on both Saturdays and Gambino will appear on both Fridays.
Sharing her excitement for the headline slot on Twitter, Ariana, 25, wrote: “Humbled and excited as hell Coachella. Thank u. (sic)”
The ‘thank u, next’ hitmaker is no stranger to the festival.
Last year, the superstar made a surprise appearance during Kygo’s set to perform what was then her new single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ for her debut at the world famous event.
BLACKPINK will become the first all-female K-Pop group to play the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival.
Also on the bill this year are The 1975, Janelle Monae, Solange and Weezer.
It was recently reported that Kanye West was set to perform, but the ‘All Day’ rapper allegedly pulled out because the staging was “artistically limiting”.
An insider told TMZ: “These 40×60 stages are so archaic. It’s the same type of stage on which Shakespeare’s works were performed hundreds of years ago.”
2018 saw Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd headline.
The ‘Halo’ hitmaker reunited with her Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland to perform a show-stopping surprise medley during the singer’s headline slot – comprised of ‘Lose My Breath’, ‘Say My Name’ and ‘Soldier’ – for their first live performance together in three years.
Tickets for Coachella go on sale on Friday (04.01.19).

James Norton left Grantchester to venture into film

OHMYGOSSIP — James Norton left ‘Grantchester’ to “venture into film”.
The 33-year-old actor – who has been tipped to be the next James Bond – will bow out of his role as charismatic clergyman Sidney Chambers in the ITV detective series after the fourth instalment, and he says he felt it was the right time to “take the plunge” and take on new challenges, with a hope of landing more big screen gigs.
However, the ‘McMafia’ star admits he will miss the show and his “bromance” with co-star Robson Green.
He told whatsontv.co.uk: “It’s been such an emotional decision, I’ve loved this job so much and I owe the show an enormous amount.
“Robson has been the best partner in crime both on and off screen, it’s no secret that we have the most amazing bromance!
“When Sidney’s storyline with Amanda (his on-off girlfriend) was tied up and he chose the church over her, it seemed like that was the natural conclusion to his story.
“And I just felt like it was time to give someone else a turn – if you want to carry on learning you’ve got to take the plunge.
“Sally Wainwright is writing a third series of ‘Happy Valley’ and I’m starting to venture into film, so it feels like the right time to challenge myself.
“I fancy an adventure – I’d love to spend a bit more time in New York or LA, I’m open to opportunities.”
James has handed over the reins to Tom Brittney, who will star in the lead part as Reverend Will Davenport, and he admits he’s “incredibly jealous”.
Asked what he thinks of his replacement, James – who plays Tommy Lee Royce in ‘Happy Valley’ – said: “I’m incredibly jealous of him! I genuinely believe he is the perfect person to join the show, he’s a lovely man and really humble.
“I remember having the same feelings to start with, wondering how to front a show.
“I’d done ‘Happy Valley’, but that’s Sarah Lancashire’s show really, so it was a hugely daunting prospect, but Tom will love it.”
The acclaimed actor also admitted to swiping Sidney’s watch from the set of ‘Grantchester’, but was left red-faced when he was asked to hand the timepiece in.
He confessed: “Embarrassingly I actually stole Sidney’s watch last series and then this year they had to ask me to bring it back!
“They also gave me a couple of dog collars which I don’t know what on earth I’ll ever do with…”
James can next be seen starring in this year’s big screen adaptation of ‘Little Women’ alongside the likes of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Timothee Chalamet.

Kym Marsh’s ‘stressful’ Christmas move

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh had a “stressful” Christmas moving house.
The 42-year-old actress – who has three kids, David, 23, Emilie, 21, and seven-year-old Polly – says shifting her stuff to her new abode in Warrington, Cheshire over the festive period with her children and boyfriend Scott Ratcliff was tough, but being in her property to start the new year is “wonderful”.
The singer-turned-actress said: “Being settled in my new home for the start of 2019 feels wonderful.
“But I’m not going to lie, the move over Christmas was a bit stressful and we’re still surrounded by boxes, but I love my new home and so do the kids.
“Due to the nature of both mine and Scott’s work, I don’t know where we’ll be in the future, so I won’t say it’s my forever home.
“Also when the kids fly the nest, which is inevitable in the next few years, I will downsize but I can see us staying here for quite a while yet.”
The brunette star – who plays Michelle Connor on the ITV soap – has promised she will make more time to pamper herself this year so she can become less of a “stress head”.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, she said: “Normally, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but I’ve changed my mind for 2019.
“I’m naturally a bit of a stress head and I tend to put everyone before myself, so my resolution is that I’m going to start doing things for me a little more, which will also help with my stress levels.
“I’ve decided that I’m going to do at least one thing a week that’s positive and makes me happy – whether that’s buying myself a bunch of flowers or having a manicure.
“My hopes for the new year are that my children are all healthy and happy, and I’m looking forward to welcoming Emilie’s baby boy into the family in May.”

Jane Danson and husband Robert have only rowed twice in 20 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s’ Jane Danson says she has only ever had two rows with her husband in 20 years.
The 40-year-old actress – who is set to appear on the upcoming 11th series of ‘Dancing On Ice’ – has been married to Robert Beck since 2005, after the pair met at the Soap Awards, and she claims the happy couple have only ever argued twice because he is her “best friend”.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Rob said: “We met at the first ever Soap Awards back in 1999. I was in ‘Emmerdale’ at the time. Jane came over and introduced herself.”
Jane added: “I’m not the world’s most confident person but I’d had a crush on Rob since I was 15, so I thought, I have to speak to him, it’s fate.
“Rob’s absolutely my best friend in the world. We’ve only had about two rows in 20 years. I’m not saying we don’t get on each other’s nerves sometimes but we’re a strong team and we’ve always allowed each other to be individuals.”
The actress – who shares her two children Harry, 12 and Sam, 9, with Robert – also confessed she suffered a miscarriage a few years ago.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she added: “Sadly we lost our third child a few years ago – I found out I’d miscarried at the three-month scan.
“It was heart-breaking and it took us a long time to get over it – I don’t think you ever do.
“There will always be that sadness there and there’ll always be that desire, but we’re getting older now and the boys are growing up. Sometimes you just have to appreciate what you have.”

Billy Connolly’s ‘near the end’ – but not scared of dying

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Billy Connolly’s battle with Parkinson’s disease has left him “near the end” of his life.
The 76-year-old comedy legend was diagnosed with
the incurable disorder – which leaves him shaking and struggling to move – in 2013, and has sadly revealed that he feels like his life is “slipping away” from him, though he insists he’s not scared of the prospect of dying.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “My life, it’s slipping away and I can feel it and I should. “I’m 76, I’m near the end. I’m a damn sight nearer the end than I am the beginning.
“But it doesn’t frighten me, it’s an adventure and it is quite interesting to see myself slipping away.”
The Glaswegian actor – who is married to Pamela Stephenson, with whom he has grownup children Scarlett, 30, Daisy, 35, and 32-year-old Amy – says he’s struggling to hear, see and remember like he used to.
He said: “As bits slip off and leave me, talents leave and attributes leave.
“I don’t have the balance I used to have, I don’t have the energy I used to have.
“I can’t hear the way I used to hear, I can’t see as good as I used to. I can’t remember the way I used to remember.”
Billy – who also has Cara, 46, and son Jamie Connolly, 50, with ex-wife Iris Pressagh – recently revealed he tried smoking marijuana to treat the disease but just got “stoned” instead.
While he hadn’t had the drug in about three decades, he decided to see if it would help – but it didn’t quite go to plan.
He shared: “I just got bomb happy. Just stoned. It was quite pleasant, but I don’t want to do that every day.
“I was never very good with marijuana, I always got too stoned and it always lasted too long. I stopped all that about 30 years ago.”
Meanwhile, last month Billy revealed he is willing to be a “guinea pig” in a bid to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease, which causes parts of the brain to become progressively damaged over years.
He admitted he’s been in contact with stem cell scientists at Harvard University about using him to advance their research and, hopefully in the long run, discover a cure for the condition.
Speaking in an extract taken from a book, published by The Scotsman, he said: “I’ve spoken to guys working on it at Harvard and told them I’ll be a guinea pig for them. I think they are going to take me up on that.”

Gary Barlow pretended to be Michael Caine on holiday

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow once pretended to be Sir Michael Caine on holiday with Jason Donovan.
The Take That frontman has revealed he and the former ‘Neighbours’ star, 50 – who have been friends for many years – would impersonate celebrities, including the 85-year-old acting legend and singer Sir Cliff Richard, when they went on joint holidays with their wives.
All while their respective spouses, Dawn Barlow Angela Donovan, would laugh at how “immature” they were.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, the 47-year-old singer – who has son Daniel, 18, and daughters Emily, 16, and Daisy, nine, with Dawn – recalled: “Our favourite holiday are when we are away with Jason and Ange Donovan.
“All kids all went to school together, they’re all the same age and they get on great.
“Together, Jason and I became an act.
“The girls sit and talk about us right in our faces, our harshest critics.
“They’re like the two old dudes in The Muppets, up in the royal box, passing comment, mostly on how immature we are.”
When Jason took part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2011 – which saw him come third place with former professional dance partner Kristina Rihanoff – Gary decided to put on a voice that was a mix between Sir David Attenborough and late co-host of the BBC ballroom and Latin show, Sir Bruce Forsyth.
In an excerpt from his book ‘A Better Me’, he said that Jason – who has Zac, 17, and daughters Jemma, 18, and seven-year-old Molly with his wife – was “going to start practising early for Strictly” and was “dancing around the swimming pool for two hour a day with a mop”.
