Robert De Niro: I would never play Donald Trump

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert De Niro would never want to play President Donald Trump – because he has no respect for the American leader.
The 75-year-old star has been very outspoken in his criticism of the president – including the moment he simply said “F**k Trump” as he appeared on stage at the Tony Awards last June – and now he’s addressed the businessman-turned-politician from an actor’s perspective, insisting he simply isn’t interested in telling Trump’s story.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “I don’t want to play him ever. I always find the character’s point of view and I can of course find his, but I have so little sympathy for him, for what he’s done, the responsibility he’s been given and just thrown away. He doesn’t care.
“I always say every person has a story that’s interesting. It’s how you tell it. And of course his ‘how you tell it’ would be interesting, too, but I’ve not seen one moment of reflection from him, ever.
“He knows what he is and everything he says negative about people or things is really a projection of himself. I don’t know how he was raised but I never thought there’d be evil people – he’s not even evil. He’s mundane.”
De Niro was also asked if he believed Trump was a “white supremacist”, and compared him to dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
He responded: “Yes. [And a fascist?] I guess that’s what it leads to. If he had his way, we’d wind up in a very bad state in this country.”
The ‘Taxi Driver’ star’s most recent comments come after a suspicious package was found at his Tribeca Grill restaurant in New York City.
The incident in October came shortly after it was revealed that suspected explosive devices were recently sent to top Democrats in the US, including former President Barack Obama and former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as the news network CNN.
Meanwhile, Trump previously hit out at the actor after De Niro – who played boxer Jake LaMotta in ‘Raging Bull’ – criticised him at the Tony Awards.
Trump wrote on Twitter after the ceremony: “Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be ‘punch-drunk’ (sic)”

Dan Whiston predicts Dancing on Ice romances

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing on Ice’ creative director Dan Whiston has told viewers to “watch this space” for potential upcoming romances on the new series.
The 42-year-old ice skater – won the first series of the show in March 2006 with actress Gaynor Faye – believes there could be some juicy love stories on the show this year, because it has happened before.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the pro skater explained: “I understand why people fall for their partners sometimes because you work so closely and have such a close relationship.
“It’s happened before and it will happen again, so I will say watch this space. Sometimes boundaries are crossed, however, sometimes it can’t be helped, things develop, things happen and love and relationships do blossom.
“So watch this space on that front.”
Like ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Dancing On Ice’ has had its fair share of romantic sub-plots over the years.
Former England footballer David Seaman married Frankie Poultney in 2015, after partnering her on the ninth series of the show in 2014.
Sylvain Longchambon also found his future wife on the show after he danced with ‘Coronation Street’ actress Samia Ghadie in 2013.
The Frenchman was also in a relationship with ex Jennifer Metcalfe when they danced together in 2011.
Dan made the comments after judge Jason Gardiner opened up about the so-called ‘Strictly’ curse, admitting the same thing goes on on ‘Dancing on Ice’ but they “don’t make a song and dance about it”.
He previously stated: “We’ve had loads of those.
“We just don’t make a song and dance about it.”

Gemma Collins: ‘I’m doing it for all the curvy girls’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has hit back at Jason Gardiner, and admitted she is doing ‘Dancing On Ice’ for “all the curvy girls”.
The 37-year-old reality star wowed the public with her performance on Sunday night (06.01.18), but acid-tongue judge Jason wasn’t enamoured with her routine.
However, Gemma has dismissed the panellist’s feedback – in which she described her performance as a “a French and Saunders parody” – and says she is thinking about opening her own skating class.
Speaking about Jason’s comments on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (07.01.18), Gemma said: “Do you know what, do I really care? I’m the GC baby, I’m doing it for all the curvy girls out there that probably never thought they’d be able to ice skate.
“I’m gonna set up my own ice skating dancercise class – yeah! Watch this space.”
Dressed in a sparkling gold outfit, ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star took to the ice for the first time to perform her skating routine to Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’ alongside her professional partner Matt Evers.
Impressing the judges with the splits and an impromptu hair flick, Gemma managed a respectable 16 points out of 40, putting her in the middle of the leaderboard, and the star confessed that she can’t wait to get back on the ice.
She added: “I just want to say, the flick weren’t make to be in it. I got carried away I thought I was Beyoncé! Do you know what bring it on – lets do some more.”
Following her performance, Jason told her: “You talk a big talk but you don’t back it up. It reminded me of a French and Saunders parody.
“This was uncomfortable to watch. You haven’t got any technique.”
Richard Blackwood, Brian McFadden, Saira Khan, Ryan Sidebottom, Melody Thornton, Wes Nelson will all take to the ice for the first time next Sunday (13.01.19).

Jameela Jamil had jeans under Golden Globes dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil wore jeans under her dress at the Golden Globe Awards.
The ‘Good Place’ actress refused to “suffer for fashion” and, knowing she had a long and chilly night ahead of her, opted to cover up underneath her floor-length strapless Monique Lhullier gown.
Speaking to USA Today on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (06.01.19), she showed off her denim leggings and explained: “Well, it’s freezing! I don’t believe in suffering for fashion. It’s going to be cold later tonight and we’re going to be out all night until the early hours. I would like to be comfortable.”
Jameela also showed off her jeggings in a video posted to Twitter.
She wrote alongside the clip, where she revealed her hidden layer during her ride to the show: “An experienced woman wears jeans under her Golden Globes gown because it’s forking COLD (sic)”
The 32-year-old actress has become outspoken on social media over issues including airbrushing photographs in magazines and stars who promote weight-loss products and she’s pleased that she’s mostly been supported in her strong views.
Though Jameela has had some criticism, she believes it comes from those who don’t want her using her “privilege” to speak out, but also don’t want others to be able to use their voices either.
She said: “I’d say I’ve had, like, 95 percent support and the five percent of women who blow back sometimes, I think their argument is that I have too much privilege to speak out.
“But they don’t let people who are marginalized speak out; they tell them they’re jealous and bitter and they don’t deserve a voice, and they don’t give them a platform. And then they don’t let the people who do have privilege speak out on their behalf, so it’s a clever way to silence everyone. And I’m not here for it!”

Nicola McLean used soccer skills to get son a school place

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola McLean has confessed she offered the headmistress of her son’s school free coaching from her professional footballer husband if she gave her child a place.
The 37-year-old former glamour model was desperate to get her oldest child Rocky, 11, into the much sought-after English school even though she didn’t live in the correct catchment area at the time, and so put forward her spouse Tom Williams – who played for a host of clubs including Swansea City and Peterborough United – to take the students on the pitch for soccer tips.
Nicola was able to get Rocky a place and he will soon be joined at the school by his younger brother, Striker, seven, but the head teacher has never bothered to get Tom, 38, to give any sports lessons.
Appearing as a panellist on Channel 5 TV show ‘Jeremy Vine’, she revealed: “I just went and pleaded my case to the head mistress so much so that he got a place even though he wasn’t in catchment.
“I’m so happy with the school. I would have done anything to get in there. Now my youngest is going to get in on for being a sibling. I have been so lucky! I offered my husband, because he’s an ex-professional footballer. I said, ‘If you need anyone to come in and do football lessons…’ She hasn’t actually called on him so maybe she doesn’t think he’s that good – I don’t know! But I was adamant that I would get it. But I would have rented a flat and lived there and done what I needed to do to get him in.”
The blonde beauty was unapologetic about trying to use every trick at her disposable to get her sons’ the best education possible and admits she is teaching her kids to “white lies” to be successful and get what they want in life.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star added: “I don’t think it’s morally incorrect! A little white lie here and there … I mean I’m teaching my kids how to get successful – we lie!”

Jodie Kidd: Modelling gave me anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Kidd admits that modelling made her “anxiety a lot worse”.
The 40-year-old blonde beauty was discovered by photographer Terry O’Neil when she was on a beach in Barbados at the age of 15 and began her career when she was 16, and now Jodie has revealed that by the time she had reached her late teens she suffered from the crippling mental health condition and found it hard to cope because doctors knew little about the illness and how to treat it.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, Jodie said: “Modelling made the anxiety a lot worse. I came straight out of school into Concorde and chauffeurs, flying all around the world, doing amazing things. But I just couldn’t cope. I was always in fight or flight mode: there was a lot of appetite, palpitations, my palms were always sweating, I wasn’t sleeping and then everyday you’re picking up newspapers and being brutalised.
“I was supported amazingly well, but it was terrifying. The medical world didn’t know anything about it so I’d go to the doctor saying I’m getting very little sleep and doing a huge amount of work, and they’d turn around and say, ‘Breathe into a paper bag.’ On put me on beta-blockers. Basically the message was, ‘Pull your socks up.’ ”
The British fashionista has recently released her own wellbeing book with her personal trainer Amelie Khellaf-Govett, entitled ‘Balance Your Life: A 6-week Eating and Exercise Plan for a Calmer, Healthier You’.
Jodie admits her own struggles with various fad diets led her to go on a health and fitness journey of her own making.
She added: “I’ve dabbled in Atkins. I’ve dabbled in this and that, but you feel – can I say s**t? – you really feel s**t: lethargic and starved and moody. It was so terrifying. If you ate a potato, it was, like, ‘Oh no, that’s it! You’ve buggered it’, whereas Amelie says, ‘If you eat a potato, just do another ten minutes in the morning on your exercise bike.’ ”

Speaking at the ceremony, he told reporters: “We celebrated our 18th anniversary recently, and besides the genuine love that only continues to grow, I think the fact that we’re in the same industry really helps us to understand what is going on.
“It was great for her to be here tonight and to share one of those nice things where your partner totally understands what’s going on.
“I flashed back to the time when she was pregnant with our daughter in Chicago and for all the shows growing up.”
Earlier on in the evening, Michael’s role in ‘The Kominsky Method’ won him the prize for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy.

He added: “The joy of my marriage with Catherine and having our children at a point in my life where my career hadn’t developed, allowed me much more time to enjoy my family.
“The fact that all of them want to be actors – and they’re all good actors – makes it all enjoyable. They understand the whole system and principles. To see my father, Kirk [Douglas], as third generation.”
Michael – who won the prestigious Cecil B DeMille Award at the ceremony 15 years ago, and was previously honored at the Globes in both 1987 and 2013 – admitted his dad had given him the best piece of career advice he’d ever received.
The star explained: “Stamina and tenacity. He was out of the school where you get your best shot, you walk away after you’ve done the best you can. Then f**k it! That’s the best advice I got.”

There is part of me that thinks I would rather just be ill and not know about it – to just get on with life. But then I thought about the kids and I thought that is a selfish way to be. Katie Price pleads not guilty to drink-driving charge

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price has pleaded not guilty to drink-driving.
The 40-year-old former glamour model was arrested in the early hours of 10 October last year after police found her behind the wheel of a damaged pink Range Rover on Shooters Hill Road, Greenwich, South East London.
Katie is alleged to have had 69 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in her system.
The legal limit in the UK is 35 micrograms.
District Judge Nigel Dean revealed in the hearing held at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday (07.01.18) that a man from a nearby block of flats had claimed an “accident of some sort” had occurred involving his parked black car, which he discovered had pink paint on it when he later inspected it.
CCTV footage appeared to show the Range Rover had been in the vicinity of his vehicle.
During proceedings, the mother-of-five asked Judge Dean if she could not reveal her address during court proceedings, however, her request was denied during the hearing.
Judge Nigel Dean said: “I think the public and members of the press are entitled to know the address of the defendant. All defendants are treated equally.”
Katie appeared in court in a two-tone fur coat and black pointed stilettos, and the only time she spoke was to deny the charge and give her personal details, including her name, address and date of birth.
Judge Dean granted Katie bail until she appears at Bexley Magistrates Court on 25 February.”

Yungblud inspired by Oasis

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud says Oasis’ attitude and outspoken nature inspired him as a teenager.
The 20-year-old alternative rock musician – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – says the music of the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, spoke to him directly and allowed him to believe that he could make it as a musician too.
In an interview with the new issue of Rock Sound Magazine, he said: “Oasis were massive for me, because of the attitude and what they represented, and how outspoken they were. It felt like they were exactly like me.
“Then I found hip hop and emo. When you find new genres of music, you take ownership of them. It blew my mind, and I found so much solace in it. I would listen to artists like My Chemical Romance, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Blink-182, Paramore … all these bands were so unafraid of being themselves. They talked about their problems and what was going on in their heads. It grabbed and latched on to me, and I felt like I could do that too.”
The ‘Kill Somebody’ hitmaker is proud to be part of a new generation that is educated and actually cares about the wider world and he thinks that things are going to change for the better through the actions and art of younger people.
Yungblud – who is dating Halsey said: “My generation is so intelligent. For the first time in a long time, we actually give a f**k about the world – we see a future that we want to be a part of. We’re not just some bratty kids rebelling against a system for the sake of it. It’s such a good time because we’re empowering people who the past neglected.”

Brian May wants to go to the International Space Station

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May’s dream is to go to the International Space Station.
The Queen guitarist has always been obsessed with space and although he has little interest in taking a commercial flight which takes you into the Earth’s orbit he would love to spend time at the ISS satellite.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: “You know what I’d really like? I’d like to sit on the International Space Station and look down on earth and have time to contemplate. I don’t fancy being chucked into the air, having weightlessness for a few minutes and then plummeting back down.”
The legendary musician has a PHD in astrophysics and years ago he got to spend time at NASA with the team who sent the New Horizons probe to Pluto.
May, 71, admits he finds spiritual solace when he is “lying” on his back “under a starry sky”.
It’s not just his interest in space that keeps Brian occupied, and he was a key component in creating ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – the biopic about the band and late frontman Freddie Mercury, which won the coveted Best Motion Picture – Drama award at the Golden Globes on Sunday (06.01.19).
The movie was a surprise winner of the prestigious accolade, taking the honour ahead of ‘Black Panther’, ‘BlacKkKlansman’, ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ and ‘A Star is Born’, much to the shock of executive producers Graham King and Jim Beach, who accepted the award.
Graham said: “Wow, now, that was unexpected. Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. That’s amazing.
“The power of movies is that it brings us all together. Freddie Mercury and Queen did that so successfully through their music and that’s what we always wanted to accomplish in the cinemas. To see that magic come alive and to see the incredible response of this film has been truly humbling to everyone. I want to thank everyone.”
