Stacey Solomon’s mum guilt

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon feels “guilty” for having children because they weren’t planned.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist knows families all over the world struggle with getting pregnant and it makes her feel bad because both her children – Zachary, 10, and Leighton, six – came into the world by accident.
She said: “I can’t imagine how difficult it is for people who really desperately want children but can’t have them. I almost feel like it’s not OK for me to have them because I had my sons by accident and it makes you feel really selfish. I feel guilty because it wasn’t something that I had planned – having kids just happened.”
And the 28-year-old television presenter admits she felt like “all her dreams had shattered” when she found out she was expecting her first son when she was 17.
She added: “It felt like all my dreams had been shattered. I didn’t want to be pregnant, so I didn’t act like I was. To me, I was just me. I still went out. I was just fatter. At the time of getting pregnant, I felt like my life was over. It was hard to come to terms with, I had bad postnatal depression. But then you hear stories of women, all they ever wanted [was to have children] – and it makes you feel guilty. But my kids are the best thing that’s happened to me and I’m so privileged that I was able to have them.”
The blonde beauty would love to have children with her boyfriend Joe Swash but wants to wait until their current family is “completely settled”.
She told Closer magazine: “I would love children with Joe and we have discussed it, but we want to make sure that our family is completely settled and in a good place before we even think about extending it. It would be lovely to have a baby girl, but it’s just whether it works out that way.”

Sissy Spacek watches her own work

OHMYGOSSIP — Sissy Spacek’s movies are like “old friends” to her.
The 68-year-old actress is happy to watch her past work on screen because the films will always be a “part” of her and they bring back fond memories.
Asked if she watches her movies, she said: “Oh my gosh, I do! Sometimes it’s accidental. Sometimes there’s a new Blu-ray version.
“‘Badlands’, ‘3 Women’, ‘In the Bedroom’, ‘Carrie’, ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ – those are a part of me. They’re like old friends.
“Mainly, the thing about all of these films I’ve been a part of is that I think about all of the elements that have to work.
“You go to do a project with the highest ideals and the biggest hopes and dreams that it will be not just what we think it is but that collaboration.
“It’s like reaching out for a doorknob and getting an electric shock. It’s that shock you’re looking for when everyone works together.”
But the ‘Carrie’ actress admitted she doesn’t always know which projects will give her that “shock”.
She added in an interview with Vulture: “You start to recognise elements in other films that had that. Whoever has the best ideas. Everybody speaks up. Everybody is a part of it. But you don’t know. That’s the scary part. It’s about collaborators.”
Sissy can currently be seen in ‘Castle Rock’, a TV series based on the work of horror writer Stephen King and, especially after previously starring in ‘Carrie’, she knows he’s someone readers and viewers can “trust”.
She said: “As a reader, as a storyteller, you trust his stories. He’s got one foot in reality and one foot in the stars. It’s psychological and it’s character-driven.
“One of the things that’s so good about ‘Castle Rock’ is it captures that spooky kind of thing that’s elusive. It’s hard to describe. Our emotions, our fears – and then, somehow, they get humour in there.
“Also, he’s who we know. He’s that great writer that has been plopped down during our lifetime. He’s part of our culture. We know him. We feel safe with him, even though he scares us.”

Miranda Lambert and Evan Felker split

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Lambert and Evan Felker have split up.
The 34-year-old singer – who was previously married to Blake Shelton from 2011 to 2015 – started dating fellow musician Evan, who is a member of the neo-folk band Turnpike Troubadours, earlier this year after becoming close when his group supported her on tour.
Describing herself as “happily single”, Miranda added to The Tennessean: “Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it. You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”
The Turnpike Troubadours pulled out of their final performances of Miranda’s ‘The Bandwagon Tour’, citing “family emergencies”.
Their publicist said: “They are no longer playing those dates due to some serious family emergencies. The band needs to be close to home.”
Miranda has reunited with her fellow Pistol Annies Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe to write their third album, which will be released later this year, and she revealed she will be very honest about her life in the songs.
She said: “Sometimes the music is so honest that it’s like, ‘Oh, that kind of hurts a little’. But, it’s good. We just want women to understand that we’re all doing the same thing. We’re all just living our lives and having the same struggles and the same joys and the same outlooks.”
Miranda’s split from Evan comes as a surprise as he recently divorced his wife Stacy.
After he filed for divorce in February, a friend said: “Staci found out that he had filed for divorce because a friend called her after seeing it in a local newspaper. Staci wasn’t even served with divorce papers so she filed her divorce papers a couple weeks after finding out that Evan filed. He never communicated that to her.”

Cheryl Tweedy split from Liam Payne because she felt like she was raising Bear alone

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Tweedy split from Liam Payne because she felt like she was raising their son alone.
The 35-year-old singer broke up with her One Direction star boyfriend in July after two-and-a-half years together and friends of Cheryl say Liam’s constant travelling for work took a toll on their relationship.
A source told The Sun that “Cheryl effectively raised Bear on her own for most of his first year, with support from her mum Joan because of the long stretches Liam was on the road”.
Earlier this week, Liam, 24, hinted that the split between him and Cheryl – with whom he raises Bear, 17 months – was not his decision.
He explained: “I didn’t really expect any of this obviously and it’s difficult. I think sometimes people need to remember that behind all those statements and things there are actually people who are going through the same sort of stuff that you go through whether they’re famous, rich or whatever they are, it doesn’t matter.”
He also revealed he is finding the break up tough.
Speaking on the Official Vodafone Big Top 40, he said: “Yeah, no I’m feeling ok, I’m a bit fragile at times. No I’m alright you know, it’s been ok. Obviously there’s a lot of stuff I’ve still got to sort out with my life but…
“You’re tryna like, you break up and like obviously we’ve broken up and then it was like a couple of days or a couple of weeks before we actually like put the announcement out and that’s the bit when it really hits home I guess but at the same point it’s like breaking up twice like, we already did this once and now I’m having to go through all of that again just because…”
Although Liam has thrown himself into his music since splitting from Cheryl, his emotions have affected his long-awaited debut solo album.
He said recently: “I have enough songs for it and was ready to put it out.
“But I kind of feel like some of the songs I’m not ready to put out right now with the way I’m feeling. I don’t know.
“To be honest with you, life’s took a little bit of a different turn as of late, so I’m kind of going with that turn and being honest with my feelings and stuff.”
To hear more from Liam, tune into The Official Vodafone Big Top 40, on Sunday (26.08.18) from 4pm – 7pm, on air and on digital radio across 120 radio stations and online at bigtop40.com.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 on hold

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3′ production is on hold.
The movie was set to go into pre-production soon with principal photography slated to begin this winter, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, crew members preparing for pre-production have been let go and told they can find other work.
This comes after director James Gunn, 52, was sacked by Disney in light of a series of controversial tweets.
Alan Horn, Walt Disney Studios chairman, previously issued a statement in which he detailed the reasons for sacking the director.
He said: “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”
However, the ‘Guardians’ cast subsequently issued a joint statement in which they called for James’ return.
The cast – which also includes Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista – said: “We fully support James Gunn. We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think, pray, listen, and discuss.
“In that time, we’ve been encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3 as well as discouraged by those so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories surrounding him.”

Natalie Nunn: ‘Chloe and Jermaine will have sex in CBB house’

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Nunn says Jermaine Pennant and Chloe Ayling will have sex in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The ‘Bad Girls’ star was the first housemate to be evicted during this series of the Channel 5 show and she made some explosive claims about her fellow contestants when she left the house on Friday (24.08.18).
She told MailOnline: “Chloe was last night sleeping in the bed with Jermaine, she had on little see through panties from the front and the back.
“She was sleeping in the bed with Jermaine, they were passing love letters in the [makeup] compacts in there and it was really upsetting to me because you know what I don’t even know if this man is married if he’s divorced I don’t know what is going on, just really upsetting everybody was lying.
“I think for sure, if they didn’t have sex last night there were condoms all over the floor, they were hiding things in compacts, they were pushing things down toilets. Absolutely they’re gonna have sex I don’t know what is going on anymore.”
Natalie also slammed Jermaine, 35 – who tied the knot with Alice Goodwin in 2014 – for lying about his relationship while flirting outrageously with Chloe, 21.
She said: “Everybody was lying! Chloe was lying! It was so upsetting everybody was lying to me when I was asking questions. Somebody said Jermaine was married and then Jermaine turned around and said ”I’m not married!’
“I was like oh my god is he married or not, it was so upsetting like everybody was lying and then here comes Natalie the Big Bad Wolf, and I’m not that big bad wolf and they’re telling me lies everybody was lying in there.
“Jermaine is disgusting he is disgusting he is a married man I found that out tonight from everybody when I got evicted. He is a married man they better not put me back in that ‘CBB’ house he is a married man he should not be sleeping in the bed with Chloe. He didn’t even have a ring on his finger.
“I’m gonna tell you something right now they’ve been in the hot tubs together, they’ve been connected at the hips together, they’ve in the bathroom where there are no cameras together.
“This is disgusting to the housemates that don’t know the truth, I went in there and owned that I was a married woman, I owned that I was a bad girl, bad things in my past and these man won’t even admit that he’s married.”

Robbie Williams threw up after X Factor criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams threw up after being criticised on ‘The X Factor’.
The 44-year-old singer and his wife Ayda Field, 37, have joined the judging panel of the show this year, alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Tomlinson, but Robbie admitted he had a rocky start when he tried to act as Mr Nasty.
He told the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “I tried to do the mean judge thing. I said something I thought would be funny, but instead everyone went ‘Oooohhh’.”
Ayda added: “I said to him, ‘Robert Peter Williams. Where did that come from? You’re not that person!'”
And Robbie went on: “Then the make-up artist said, ‘Why did you say that?’ And I got so panicked I went upstairs and threw up.
“It’s a big risk, putting yourself on mainstream television every week. For somebody who can put his foot in it – unintentionally – it’s a very scary prospect.
“But fun at the same time. It’s like walking the tightrope, though there’s the fear I’m going to do something that will cause an international incident.
“It’s really important people either really love it and us – or they obsessively hate us. And I want the obsessive haters to watch too.”
Robbie and Ayda joined the show in a reported £10 million deal but the star says he is “worth more” than he is being paid.
He said: “Do I think I’m worth more? Yes. But I think they got a good deal, and we got a good deal too.
“I was offered Simon’s role on the judging panel of ‘American Idol’, the US version of ‘X Factor’s predecessor, ‘Pop Idol’, when he left, and it was for twice the money I’m on now.”
However, Simon – who has been asking Robbie to join the panel of the show for years – is thrilled with the deal he has pulled off.
He said: “A very good deal. I was a little nervous before filming started. You never know what the chemistry will be like, how people will react in the chair, but these two took to it like ducks to water.
‘We’ve got our money’s worth. Performers look up to Robbie. I think the contestants have upped their game this year, performing for him.
“Ayda’s smart. She’s funny. She’s got a great attitude. I think audiences will love her.”

Sia: ‘Titanium was a cheesy pop house song’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sia was furious when her vocals were used on ‘Titanium’.
Although the 42-year-old singer/songwriter wrote the lyrics for the track, which was produced by DJ David Guetta, she was originally angry when she discovered the vocals she recorded were used when the song was released.
Sia explained to Rolling Stone magazine: “I had worked so hard to be this cool, credible artist. And then finally, I’ve retired to just work behind the scenes, and then I’m on, like, a cheesy pop house song.”
However, she changed her mind when the song went double-platinum.
Sia – who has penned songs for Rihanna, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Katy Perry – also revealed that she finds it quite easy to write for other people.
She said: “It doesn’t feel like I’m doing it, it feels like it’s happening to me. It’s really f**king weird!
“I used to overthink my lyrics. I really wanted to be cool. Usually, I’m writing from a character’s point of view. Sometimes, I’ll write one that I relate to. Those are the ones I don’t give away.”
And producer Greg Kurstin says she is one of the speediest writers he has ever met.
He said: “I’ve never seen anyone write a melody and lyrics that fast. She’ll sing it and write it and it happens in one motion, and then she’s revising. And then it’s one take. You’ve got to keep up with her, really.”

Spencer Matthews forgot to write wedding speech

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews forgot to write a wedding speech when he married Vogue Williams.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star tied the knot with pregnant partner Vogue Williams back in June and because their Scottish nuptials – which took place in the grounds of his family’s estate – were so low-key and intimate, he only remembered long after they’d exchanged vows that he’d be expected to say some words in front of their small group of guests so had to make something up on the spot.
He said: “The strange thing is, and this is no joke, but because the whole thing was so casual, I didn’t write a speech. And it came to my attention as we were wandering over to what you’d call the grill room, that I was going to have to make one. We’d had a few glasses of champagne with our cake by this point and it’s a good thing I went to acting school – I was more than happy taking centre stage.”
The couple – who are planning a second wedding abroad for their friends to attend – opted not to send out official invitations and shunned the tradition of spending the night apart before they said “I do”.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Spencer admitted: “I think we managed an hour apart just before while Vogue was putting the finishing touches to her hair-do.”
Spencer, 30, and Vogue, 32, opted to marry before their baby is born as they thought it would be “nice” for them to all have the same surname, and because they knew they won’t have much time for wedding planning when they’re getting to grips with parenthood.
Spencer said: “It’s nice for a baby to be born into a family with the same name. But it wasn’t a huge concern. We just thought if we’re going to go down the super casual route, why not do it sooner rather than later?”
Vogue added: “When the baby comes, everything else would have gone on the backburner anyway – including the wedding.”

Emma Thompson’s family’s piano threat

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Emma Thompson’s family threatened to “burn” her piano when they got sick of her rehearsing for ‘The Children Act’.
The 59-year-old actress – who has Tindy, 30, and Gaia, 18, with husband Greg Wise – portrays High Court judge Fiona Maye in the upcoming new drama and she admitted the emotional content took its toll on her and her loved ones.
She said: “I was not grim, but less wild during this shoot. I had to perform a song. I was so nervous about it that I rehearsed so much my family said, ‘If you play that one more time we are going to burn the piano and lock you out.’ ”
As part of her preparation for the role, Emma spent hours at court and felt privileged to observe the lawyers and judges at work.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she said: “It was one of the greatest privileges. Backstage [at court] only judges and clerks are allowed to walk on the red carpet. They are godlike creatures in their robes and hardly any women have that power in the world, ever. It was extraordinary to watch. Their level of work and brainpower is extraordinary. Then when I talked to them, my admiration extended even further. To combine that sense of power, that actual power with compassion – and one has four children and gets up at 4am every morning to do all the work so she can see them off to school – they are super-human to me.”
And Emma was surprised when her performance as her character was compared to a big screen superhero.
She said: “I was talking to a young comedian about the film and he said, ‘You’re just like a Marvel superhero in the beginning – in the courtroom she’s so badass.’ I said, ‘Like Superman in the third one where he goes over to the dark side?’ I’d never thought of it like that – that’s very illuminating.”

Dominic Monaghan joins Star Wars Episode IX

OHMYGOSSIP — Dominic Monaghan has joined the cast of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’.
The 41-year-old actor will reunite with ‘Lost’ creator and executive producer, J.J. Abrams, who is directing the new movie in the franchise, after previously begging him for a role in ‘The Force Awakens’, ET reports.
Dominic previously said: “Give me a lightsaber, I’ll do anything. [Abrams] said, ‘We’re putting together a cast of unknowns. We want to follow the ’77 New Hope cast because obviously, Harrison Ford wasn’t well known at that point, Mark Hamill wasn’t and Carrie Fisher wasn’t either.
“What he said was, ‘We don’t want to fall into that mistake of people going, ‘Oh, it’s that guy from that thing!’ and then you’re completely out of the Star Wars universe’.”
Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson recently revealed he wants to return to the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
The 69-year-old actor portrayed Jedi master Mace Windu in Episodes I-III and though his alter ego was killed off after losing an arm and being thrown from a window during a fight in the third film, ‘Revenge of the Sith’, he hasn’t given up hope of being asked to reprise the character in some form.
He said: “You know, it’s not that crazy that Jedi can fall from great heights and survive.
“And how many one-handed people are roaming about in that galaxy? Quite a few…
“I’ve still got the old Jedi spirit. I’m down.
“If they call me, I’ll show up – hell, I’m hanging around just for that.
“I’d even show up as a hologram or some s**t.”
The veteran actor admitted he urged creator George Lucas not to kill off his alter ego even though he understood why his character was more disposable than others.
He said: “I was really the only person they could do something to in the movie to create some turmoil, because everyone else shows up in the original films.
“I kept saying to George, ‘You sure about this? I can kill this dude – you know that, right?’ ”

Louis Tomlinson has ‘something to prove’ with solo career

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson feels he has “something to prove” with his solo career.
At first the One Direction singer was unsure about branching out on his own like his bandmates – Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – after the band went on an indefinite hiatus but Louis, 26, felt he needed to do it for himself and the fans.
He told the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “There was an element of feeling there was something to prove. And a responsibility to the fans.”
Louis has joined the panel of ‘The X Factor’, the show which launched One Direction, as a judge and he says it reminds him that he and his bandmates were not excellent from the start.
He said: “The thing I remind myself of, when I see people audition, is how none of One Direction had a brilliant first audition.
‘None of us set the place on fire – that came later. I think you have to remember that when you’re about to dismiss someone.
“Some parts have been more challenging than I expected. Saying no to people is horrible. I find it difficult to say no to people in any situation but here it’s really horrible.”
Louis hopes he can mentor young singers in their career, like Simon Cowell has done for him.
He said: “Just as I’ll be mentoring the contestants, he’ll be mentoring me. Simon had to have a few words” with Louis during his time in 1D as he struggled to cope with fame.
He added: “I was just being the cocky lad out of Doncaster. I got a bit carried away. Simon said I needed to appreciate the opportunity I was being given here. He was right.”
And he is confident that his bandmates might make an appearance on the show.
He said: “They might fight for that guest judge seat at the judges’ houses stage of the competition.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner settle divorce

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have settled their divorce.
The couple announced they were going their separate ways in June 2015, before filing documents two years later, and their final settlement will be filed with the court after Ben leaves the Los Angeles rehab facility, The Canyon, where he recently checked in.
A source told TMZ that Ben and Jen, both 46, have agreed how to split their property and earnings from their 12-year marriage.
They have also agreed to joint custody of their children – Violet, 12, Seraphina, nine, and Samuel, six – and have decided to work with their schedules rather than a rigid custody plan.
Jennifer and Ben were recently sent a legal warning by the court for “dragging their feet” over their divorce.
The Blast reported that the Los Angeles Superior Court told the former couple that their case is not completed because the final judgement hasn’t been entered and it could be dismissed in its entirety.
The court is said to have told them: “If you fail to take the appropriate steps in your case, the court may dismiss your case for delay in prosecution.”
However, TMZ reports that the divorce was delayed due to Ben’s intermittent relapsing over the past 18 months.
One Ben leaves rehab, the pair are expected to sign the agreement and file it with the courts.
Earlier this week, a source claimed that Ben’s decision to go to rehab is a “major step in the right direction”.
The insider said: “One of the key elements with taking control of your addiction is knowing when to seek help, which he did, and it is a major step in the right direction.
“One crucial aspect of Ben’s recovery is for him to be able to seek help when he feels as though he is not in control – when his ongoing treatment and meetings with sober coaches aren’t quite enough. The best case scenario is for him to seek help, which he has done willingly, and for that, we are all very grateful and hopeful.”

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan adopt dog

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have adopted a dog.
The royals – who tied the knot in May – have welcomed a new Labrador to their Kensington Palace cottage.
A source told the Daily Mail: “The dog is already happily ensconced at their cottage.
“Like the Sussexes, the dog will divide its time between the palace and their country home in the Cotswolds.”
Dog lover Meghan, 37, was devastated when she had to leave her beloved pooch Bogart behind when she moved to the UK.
The former ‘Suits’ star’s beagle Guy was brought over to Britain from her home in Toronto, Canada, but her other four-legged friend Bogart, which is a Labrador-Shepherd cross was unable to come along because he was considered too old to travel.
However, he is staying with Meghan’s “very close friends”.
She previously said: “One [dog] is now staying with very close friends and my other, little Guy, he’s in the UK, he’s been here for a while.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry, 33, recently insisted he doesn’t want a big family.
The royal and his wife are expected to start trying for a baby in the near future, but Harry has already decided that he doesn’t want “too many” kids.
As the couple greeted fans in Dublin last month, Elaine Adam-Stewart, 43, told Harry: “My husband also has red hair and he gave me five children — when are you and Meghan going to get going?”
Speaking to PEOPLE.com, she added: “He laughed and said ‘five children? Too many.’ ”
However, Meghan’s father Thomas Markle recently revealed his daughter has wanted a baby of her own for a “long time.”
He said: “She’s wanted children for a long time. When she met Harry and she spoke about how much she loves him… there’s got to be a child in the making there soon.”

Rodrigo Alves removed from CBB house

OHMYGOSSIP — Rodrigo Alves has been removed from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The 25-year-old star – known as the Human Ken Doll – was ousted from the show after an “incident” which show bosses have yet to elaborate on.
Channel 5 said in a statement: “After a further incident, Rodrigo has been removed from the Big Brother house and will not be returning.”
However, Rodrigo – who was previously cautioned for using racially offensive language on the show – has claimed that it was his decision to leave.
Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “I demanded to leave. I was going to scale the wall if I wasn’t allowed to leave.
“I didn’t like it. My co-stars were boring, dirty and had nothing in common with them. I was claustrophobic. I had to get up early and stay up late. I didn’t understand why people were in there. Hardeep Singh was snoring like a hog.”
It has also been claimed that Rodrigo left after throwing a “diva strop” following the eviction of Natalie Nunn on Friday (24.08.18).
A source told The Sun: “Rodrigo really wasn’t happy when Natalie left. He threw a diva strop and stormed into the diary room.
“Bosses tried to persuade him to stay but he was having none of it. He walked out just three hours after Natalie left the house. Everyone is still in shock.”
Previously Rodrigo used the N-word twice during a conversation with fellow housemates Gabby Allen, Natalie Nunn, Chloe Ayling, and Dan Osbourne during scenes aired on last Friday’s (17.08.18) episode of the Channel 5 reality show.
When quizzing Dan about his love life, Rodrigo said: “Are you married? The girls want to know, not me, you’re not my type anyway. No for god’s sake. I like a n**** boy, he’s too white for my sake. I like a n**** boy.”
The following morning, Rodrigo was pulled into the Diary Room and received a stern warning from ‘Big Brother’, who told him his language was “unacceptable”.
They told him: “Rodrigo, before you entered the ‘Big Brother’ house, the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you.
“This morning at 2:40am in the bedroom in a conversation with Dan, Gabby, Chloe, and Natalie, you used the N-word twice.
“Rodrigo this word is highly offensive, and very likely to cause significant offence to both your housemates and more importantly, the viewing public. Do you understand?”
The star claimed he “regretted” using the racially offensive term, but blamed his behaviour on being “drunk”.

Corrie’s Daniel Brocklebank blasts Twitter troll

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank has hit back at a Twitter troll who criticised his “tight trousers”.
The 38-year-old actor – who plays vicar Billy Mayhew – in the ITV soap, was the subject of a cruel treat from a viewer, who called him a “s**t actor”.
The commenter wrote: “Billy is a s**t actor and a totally unbelievable vicar, tight trousers and rolled up sleeves, get rid…”
However, Daniel hit back with a devastating tweet, where he mocked the Twitter user’s knowledge of “acting, costume design and the clergy”.
He wrote: “Thank you for your review David. I’ll be passing your comments on to the relevant departments. Especially seeing as you have degrees in acting, costume design & extensive knowledge relating to the clergy.”
And Daniel also told his followers that his mother had agreed that his trousers were too tight.
He tweeted: “Mum & I sat watching corrie together… Mum: ‘Gosh those trouser don’t leave much to the imagination.. I wonder where you get that from. It certainly isn’t your dad’.”
Meanwhile, ‘Coronation Street’ was previously cleared following more than 200 complaints about vicar Billy taking heroin in a church.
Ofcom received 211 complaints after the drug-taking vicar was seen lying in the holy building in the aftermath of taking the addictive substance, but the UK communications regulator will not be investigating the soap.
In the scenes, which aired at the end of Monday February 26th’s 8.30pm episode, Billy obtained the Class A drug from his dodgy brother Lee Mayhew (Richard Crehan) and they were then seen looking spaced out on the floor of the church.
Lee said: “This must be what heaven feels like.”
But the act of taking the drug was not shown on screen, and ‘Corrie’ insisted they would go on to show the “very negative” side to taking such substances.
A spokeswoman said at the time: “‘Coronation Street’ has a strong tradition of tackling serious contemporary issues in a responsible way.
“In upcoming episodes we will be showing the very negative side of drug taking as Billy’s life starts to fall apart.”
And Daniel insisted it is an “important” story to tell.
He said: “To tell the story, to show that hard-working moral people can fall into that state, is an important story to tell.
“People have been shocked because Billy started off such a sweet, amiable character, and so for him to turn into that.”
Billy had been obtaining methadone from his brother after becoming hooked on prescription drugs, but he was forced to turn to the harder stuff.
He started to become desperate since he was left in a wheelchair after he fell over a cliff on Christmas Day.
