OHMYGOSSIP — Sooty and Sweep are set to make a television comeback.
The loveable talking puppets – who appeared on the small screen from 1968 until 2001 – will be making a return next week on ITVBe’s new pre-school slot littleBe.
Richard Cadell – who is best known for being the hand of Sooty since 1998 – said: “Not only has Sooty turned 70 this year, but 2018 also marks 50 years since ‘The Sooty Show’ first appeared on ITV in 1968! How exciting to be celebrating this incredible achievement with a brand new series. Long may it continue!”
The show will feature a number of celebrity cameo appearances from the likes of ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker Peter Andre, Steps singer Faye Tozer, actress and TV presenter Lisa Riley and ‘Only Fools And Horses’ legend John Challis.
Darren Nartey, ITV programme acquisitions executive, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Sooty back to our screens. He is an iconic and well-loved character and our audience will be delighted to see more of his antics.”
Sooty was created by the puppeteer and magician Harry Corbett in 1948.
Richard took over the hand of Sooty – who got his name from the black soot Harry used to darken his ears – from the creator’s son Matthew.
He sold the rights to the franchise to a production company in 2000 but bought them back eight years later with plans for fresh television and stage formats.
He’s promised fans the six-part series will be filled with “mischief and mayhem.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Woodburn has demanded Coleen Nolan be sacked from ‘Loose Women’ after claiming she was “ambushed” on the show.
The 76-year-old TV presenter stormed off the programme on Wednesday (29.08.18) after branding the show’s panellist a “con artist” during an appearance in which the pair were expected to bury the hatchet, after they dramatically fell out following ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2017.
Kim – who claims to have been bullied while in the ‘CBB’ house – also called for Coleen’s sister Linda Nolan, who appeared on ‘Loose Women’ panel yesterday and is a regular guest on the programme, to be fired from the show.
She said: “I was ambushed, it was disgusting. It was like a circus and I was there for some cruel entertainment. I want Coleen and her sister fired.
“They could have stopped that show. The one who had the ear mic could have stopped it. But they did nothing to curb it.
“I was shown cruelty again by that woman. I’m embarrassed once again. And I’ve cried on TV once again.
“I do go at people if they go for me. I hope I never live to see the day when a human being in her 50s and her sister could mock a lady sobbing on TV.
“They should not be on that show. And I will do all I can to get them off it.”
Kim claims she was thrown off-guard when she was asked to speak first on the live TV show, rather than second as she claims was pre-planned before her appearance.
She added to The Sun Online: “I was told I would be going second so it threw me. I was fine to continue and tried to explain my piece.
“But then I heard Coleen and Linda mocking me when I was talking about my childhood and young adult life. They should have stopped it.”
During her brief appearance on the programme, Kim slammed her fellow former ‘CBB’ housemate Coleen as “lying trash” and a “piece of filth”.
She said: “I will never forget what the likes of her and the seven others put me through. I’ll never forget it. Never. It was sad and awful and it was bloody cruel.
“I lose my temper but I’ve got a good heart and soul. She sits there, she’s hard as nails. She’s a con artist.
“I wouldn’t want to sit and talk to lying trash like you. You think what you like. She is trash. Anyone who can stand in a group of seven people and bully … you are trash, you’re a piece of filth!”
Earlier in the episode, Kim started crying while discussing her “very sad” and “brutal” childhood.
She said: “I can’t describe what I went through. I went in that house and all the memories of those years came back with the bullying they were doing to me.
“I was very upset in that house but I pretended I wasn’t. They picked on me.”
As Kim was speaking, Coleen whispered: “We got this every day as well.”
But Coleen’s team took to her Twitter account to reveal she didn’t ask Kim to be on the programme, and tried to remain “as calm as possible” while being “insulted live on air”.
The tweet read: “For clarity – Coleen did not ask for Kim Woodburn to come on the show nor ask to be reunited with her – @loosewomen organised the show. Coleen has no say in their choice of guests -Coleen stayed as calm as possible whilst being insulted live on air which was incredibly unpleasant (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — French Montana is being sued after his dog allegedly bit his former pool cleaner.
The 33-year-old rapper has landed in legal trouble after his German Shepherd Zane allegedly “went off” for no reason back in May last year and left Juan Lomeli with bloody puncture wounds in his arm – and now his former employee wants him to shell out for the injuries he sustained as a result and loss of earnings.
According to the court documents, obtained by TMZ, Mr Lomeli had worked for the ‘Unforgettable’ hitmaker for six months and had no trouble with his pet pooch.
However, something switched while he was servicing French’s pool one day last year and the dog allegedly lunged at him and viciously attacked him with his jaws.
Mr Lomeli didn’t go into detail about his wounds but he did claim that the injuries were so bad that he was unable to work for some time, and he would now like the rap star to cough up to help him claw back some of the cash he lost last year.
French hasn’t had the easiest of times recently as his mansion in Calabasas, California, was broken into last month and the two armed male suspects reportedly managed to make off with some of his possessions at around eight in the morning.
Police were distributed as soon as they received the call about the robbery but, upon arrival at the property, the criminals had already managed to flee the scene.
There were at least two residents at the address when the crime took place but officers refused to confirm whether any of them were the ‘Hurtin’ Me’ hitmaker.
It’s not known how much was stolen – or what was taken – but no one was injured during the burglary as the paramedics and fire brigade were not called.

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Sinead Tinker is to be diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The knicker factory worker – played by Katie McGlynn – will be told she has the disease, which killed off former cobbles favourite Alma Halliwell (Amanda Barrie) in 2001, just weeks after discovering she is expecting Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) baby.
A TV insider said: “This will be a real bombshell for the residents of the street.
“And the memories of what happened to Alma will come flooding back for Weatherfield’s older viewers.”
While Alma eventually died from the disease, it’s not known if Sinead will meet her maker or not.
Sinead will reveal she had noticed symptoms but didn’t go to get checked out, and she may have to consider an abortion so she can have treatment to save herself.
Alma’s cervical cancer story sparked controversy among some die-hard ‘Corrie’ supporters who claimed her deterioration was “unrealistic”, and the actress herself, who described the plot as a “cheap ratings ploy”.
The insider added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “It was a controversial storyline at the time as Amanda accused bosses of using it for ratings.
“And some said the speed with which Alma deteriorated was very unrealistic.
“It remains to be seen whether Sinead’s cancer battle will have a similarly tragic ending.”
Amanda admitted at the time she didn’t like the plot “one bit” and felt “extremely anxious” about it.
Speaking in 2001, she said: “If you are going to take an issue like this and use it for entertainment you have to be just so very, very careful.
“From the moment I learned what was going to happen I was extremely anxious about it. And as Alma’s illness and deterioration proceeded with such amazing speed I really did feel I was being asked to take part in a cheap ratings ploy. I didn’t like it one bit.”
The plot saw Alma miss a smear test and then be the victim of a hospital blunder only to be diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer just weeks before her death.
A spokeswoman for the Cancer Research Campaign also described the storyline as “unrealistic”.
She said at the time: “The storyline was quite unrealistic. It’s highly unlikely that someone who had previously had negative smears would be suddenly be diagnosed as being in the terminal stages.
“It would only have been realistic if she had missed tests in the last 15 or 20 years or so. If she had been in the terminal stages, she would probably have had some form of bleeding or unexplained weight loss.
“Whilst we are not against soap operas making people aware of such issues, there is a responsibility on broadcasters to make sure that storylines are researched properly. Cancer is a very sensitive topic.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry burst into song with a rendition of ‘You’ll Be Back’ while attending the ‘Hamilton’ musical alongside his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, on Wednesday night (29.08.18).
The 33-year-old prince took to the stage at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London, with the cast following the performance of the musical, and he began singing the tune, which was performed by the character of his sixth great-grandfather King George III in the production.
Harry began the tune by crooning, “You say …” but cut his performance short to huge applause from the crowd.
Referring to the show’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was also on stage, he said: “You did try, but I said no.”
Harry then thanked the crowd for raising money for his charity Sentebale – which works with kids and youngsters affected by HIV in southern Africa – by attending the production.
He said: “Ladies and gentleman, thank you so much – thank you to Cameron Mackintosh productions, to the show’s creators Thomas Kail and of course Lin-Manuel Miranda, the cast and crew.
“And as already mentioned, a round of applause for yourselves for taking part in this evening’s activities because you have together, raised a huge amount of money to change the lives of thousands of children in Botswana and Lesotho.
“Through that work that we’re going to be doing now – we will be able to stop the generational hand down of the stigma around HIV.
“So, thank you so much for being here this evening.”
Harry then praised the show’s cast for their regular energetic performances.
He told them: “I don’t know how you guys do it every single night, over and over again.”
‘Hamilton’ tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, and also pokes fun at Harry’s ancestor George.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne Johnson is to play former Hawaiian king Kamehameha in a new movie.
The 46-year-old actor has taken to his Instagram account to reveal he has been cast as the founder and first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii in forthcoming film ‘The King’, and admitted he is “humbled and grateful” to have signed up for his dream project.
He wrote: “KA LA HIKI OLA.
Dawning of a new day with hope and promise.
Humbled & grateful to begin this once in a lifetime journey.
KING KAMEHAMEHA – the legendary King was the first to unite the warring Hawaiian islands — fulfilling the prophecy that surrounded his fabled life since birth and creating the powerful & spiritual 50th state as we know it today.

Johnson – who has Polynesian heritage, and spent part of his school days at President William McKinley High School in Honolulu, Hawaii – has wanted to play the king since he started his Hollywood acting career 17 years ago.
He added: “From the day I began my Hollywood career (2001), my dream was to bring this legacy to life.
In Polynesian culture we have a belief, that something isn’t done when it’s ready… it’s done when it’s right.
The time is right.
The one who walks alone. (sic)”
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. and New Line won an auction for ‘The King’, which will be produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Beau Flynn, Zemeckis and Wallace.
The legendary king was the first person to unite the warring Hawaiian islands, which fulfilled a prophecy surrounding his life.
Wrestler-turned-actor Johnson has a tribal tattoo on his shoulder and chest in a nod to his Polynesian heritage, and his grandfather Peter Maivia was a pioneer of pro wrestling in Hawaii.
Filming is expected to start in 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin has dropped out of the ‘Joker’ movie.
The 60-year-old actor was said to be in line to portray Thomas Wayne – the physician and philanthropist father of Bruce Wayne/ Batman, who will be played by Joaquin Phoenix in the hotly-anticipated movie – but he’s since decided to quit as he didn’t want to portray “some Donald Trump manque.”
Taking to his Twitter account, Baldwin said: “Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque. That is not happening. Not. Happening. (sic)”
His public announcement came just hours after he told ‘USA Today’ that he had to drop out of the blockbuster due to conflicting scheduling issues.
He said in a statement: “I’m no longer doing that movie.
“I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”
Filming is due to start on September 10 but it’s not yet known whether Baldwin’s shock exit will delay the picture, which will also star Robert De Niro, Marc Maron and Frances Conroy, because bosses will now need to find another actor.
Phoenix recently admitted his portrayal of the Joker would be “unique”.
He said: “I wouldn’t quite classify this as like any genre. I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more then anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting.
“I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles. And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied.
“And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.”
‘Joker’ is scheduled for release on October 4, 2019.

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Damon “will always be there” for Ben Affleck.
The ‘Good Will Hunting’ star is focused on helping his friend through his addiction as Ben admitted himself to rehab to get help with his problems.
A source told People magazine: “He has and will always be there for Ben. They have been friends for years. Let’s remember that they each have their own families and careers to deal with.”
Meanwhile, Ben’s decision to go to rehab is a “major step in the right direction”.
An insider said: “One of the key elements with taking control of your addiction is knowing when to seek help, which he did, and it is a major step in the right direction. One crucial aspect of Ben’s recovery is for him to be able to seek help when he feels as though he is not in control – when his ongoing treatment and meetings with sober coaches aren’t quite enough. The best case scenario is for him to seek help, which he has done willingly, and for that, we are all very grateful and hopeful.
“Addiction is not something that goes away. Every day is a battle for recovering addicts, they are fighting for their sobriety and to lead healthy, balanced lives every day. Ben has been working incredibly hard for the last year to follow a streamlined program designed for him and his journey. He has been attending countless meetings, has continued to work with sober coaches and does his best to follow through with the things that will help him maintain his health.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young and Daryl Hannah banned smartphones from their wedding.
The couple wanted to tie the knot in complete privacy and so decided to ask people to leave their devices at home so no pictures could leak of the big day.
A wedding planner reportedly advised guests that “everyone will be asked to leave their phones and cameras at the hotel” whilst the pair also picked a venue in San Luis Obispo, California – a three-to-four drive from Los Angeles – so that the paparazzi wouldn’t be able to attend, the New York Post’s Page Six column reports.
Guests – which included Joni Mitchell and Stephen Stills – were given a list of nearby hotels, but were told, “Please note the hotels do not have information about the event, so please only contact them to book a room (and do not mention anything about this event).”
The 72-year-old singer songwriter is believed to have gotten married to actress and activist Daryl during a small ceremony in California over the weekend.
Guitarist Mark Miller appeared to confirm the news when he took to Facebook to congratulate the couple, writing: “Congratulations to Daryl Hannah and Neil Young on their wedding today. May they have a long and happy relationship.”
The musician later admitted he hadn’t attended the ceremony – which is believed to have taken place on Saturday (25.08.18) in Atascadero – in a second post which read: “I only knew about it because one of my friends attended the ceremony in Atascadero and announced it on his page.”
Daryl, 57, and Neil’s marriage was also seemingly confirmed on the Buffalo Springfield star’s unofficial news blog, where fans discussed the rumours, and the administrator claimed “several attendees” had confirmed the news.
They wrote: “Congrats N & D. No word on first dance song, but it probably wasn’t the Bluenotes ‘Married Man’.
“Several attendees at [the] reception yesterday in central CA area have confirmed. Described as a ‘shindig’. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss is planning to get married next year.
The 26-year-old model only became engaged to her long-term beau Joshua Kushner over the summer following six years of dating and it looks like they’re not wasting any time becoming husband and wife as they’d like to get hitched in less than 12 months’ time on the 33-year-old businessman’s farm in New Jersey.
A source said: “They want their wedding to be an understated affair. They’re planning to get married next spring or summer on his family farm in New Jersey.”
And, although she wants the nuptials to be “romantic”, she doesn’t want it too flash.
The insider explained to Life and Style magazine: “They don’t want it to be stuffy at all. She wants things to be romantic and easy.”
The blonde beauty has also started to put her guest list together – with the likes of Taylor Swift and sister-in-law Ivanka Trump making the cut – while her bridal party is already said to be up to 12 after she asked some of her friends to be bridesmaids.
Joshua proposed to the Kode with Klossy founder last month during a romantic getaway to New York, and the pair are “overjoyed” with the news.
An insider said at the time: “He proposed a few weeks ago during a romantic weekend together in upstate New York. They’re both overjoyed and happily celebrating. Their hearts are full and they’re excited to build their future together.”
Karlie then confirmed the news on her Instagram account a few weeks later.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson’s first tattoo was inspired by Ariana Grande’s ex-boyfriend.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star – who is engaged to the ‘God Is A Woman’ hitmaker – has revealed his first inking was inspired by Big Sean, who Ariana dated between 2014 and 2015.
He told Variety magazine: “I was 17 when I got my first tattoo. It was a tattoo I got with my buddy Ricky. It says ‘Swerve Life’ because the Big Sean song that had that – swerve in it, and we were like ‘That’s gonna last forever.'”
Meanwhile, Pete recently admitted he told Ariana he wanted to marry her on the first day they met.
He said: “The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow.’ She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favourite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.’ The universe works in weird ways. All I know is that I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
The loved-up couple recently moved in together in New York, and Pete says Ariana keeps reminding him that she bought the property, whilst revealing they have opted for cool furniture over essentials.

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Lambert split from Evan Felker because he “broke her rules”.
The ‘House That Built Me’ hitmaker decided to go separate ways from her boyfriend after six months together because he did something she didn’t approve of.
A source told People magazine: “I don’t think it was a dramatic split, but he knew what he was ‘allowed’ to do based on her rules and he broke them. He did something that he knew she wasn’t going to approve of, she assumed he did it and he didn’t deny it.”
Miranda confirmed she and Evan had split up, describing herself as “happily single”.
She shared: “Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it. You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty previously confessed she doesn’t want to relive the “hell” of the last couple of years.
She explained: “It was going to be hell, and I’d already been through hell. It was hell putting it on paper, putting my words on paper. So, I didn’t want to rehash. OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy has signed up for three ‘Venom’ movies.
The 40-year-old actor has stepped into the famous black suit to portray the titular symbiote in the upcoming Marvel movie and he has revealed he’ll be playing Eddie Brock and his alter ego on at least two more occasions if his upcoming film is a box office success.
He told Total Film magazine: “I’m open to whatever you want to do with it. We’ve signed up for three of them. So it’s very much an open case. We’ll see what people’s responses are to it.
“I think it’s an awesome character. I love playing both of them. It’s an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it’s the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were.”
But Tom suggested his character won’t be crossing over into other movies in the comic book universe for the time being.
He added: “We all prepped for it to be a standalone universe. So whatever Sony want to attach to it at a later date, it’s a fulcrum piece. But let’s see what happens when it lands.”
Meanwhile, Hardy has recently admitted he would love to see Spider-Man in the Venom universe, despite the web-slinger currently being played by Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
When asked if he would take on the superhero, he remained tight-lipped but said: “What? Toe-to-toe with Tom Holland? I’ll have a go, yeah.”
Hardy is thrilled to be filling the shoes of the anti-hero, and says one of the main reasons he took on the role was because his 10-year-old son Louis – whom he was with Rachael Speed – is a huge fan of the character.
He said: “Venom is, by far – for me, I don’t want to upset anyone – I think he’s the coolest Marvel superhero there is. Then also, there’s my son. He’s a massive Venom fan. He was a strong influence on why I needed to play Venom, specifically. I wanted to do something that my son could watch.”
The movie’s director Ruben Fleischer is also keen to see Spider-Man face off against Venom in a later movie, but confirmed there were “no heroes” in the upcoming first installment, which hits cinemas this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Spice Girls have signed a deal for a UK tour next year – without Victoria Beckham.
The ‘Say You’ll Be There’ hitmakers have reportedly agreed a contract that will see Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton land around £12 million each for 13 British shows, including three nights at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, but their fashion designer bandmate won’t be joining them on stage.
A source confirmed to the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “After much to’ing and fro’ing, a deal has been signed, and an official announcement will be made soon.
“The girls can’t wait to go back on tour, perform to the fans and sing some of their greatest hits.”
It was claimed in June that a deal for a tour had collapsed after Victoria pulled out.
A source said at the time: “The Spice Girls are in disarray. While Victoria has always insisted she’d never tour, the others believed manager Simon Fuller would get her on board.
“They had a £150million proposal in the offing — with a headline performance at Wembley — and even Mel C, who had previously been reluctant, was signed up.
“With things still up in the air, there were a few heated debates between the girls and Victoria.
“Simon [Fuller, former manager] was brought in to convince her to take the offer but now he’s failed they feel he’s used them to put his name back on the map.”
But just a month before, Mel B had revealed the group had signed a comeback contract.
She said: “We are in the process of figuring stuff out, all five of us have signed with Simon Fuller. I don’t know what is going to happen or when but it is all very exciting. There’s going to be a bit of everything.
“If it was up to me we would go on tour immediately. Maybe we will, soon … I’ve always said we’re definitely touring, I think I’ve just been nagging them too much and once I stopped nagging them they all said yes, I just need to shut my mouth.”
The Spice Girls last toured after reuniting in 2007, with their greatest hits shows wrapping up in 2008. The final time they performed as a five-piece, was at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.

The 28-year-old actress – who previously starred in the ‘Twilight’ franchise – will appear alongside Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska in a new take on the 70s TV show but, although she’s yet to meet her cast mates, she has started doing some boxing to make sure she’s in the best shape possible for the action flick.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she said: “I have been boxing a bit, which I have never done. I am so addicted to it. As soon as I have to actually start sparring though, I realise what I am doing is intended to fight people. I am like, it really is assaulting and I really hate it. But all I am doing lately is talking to Liz, and can’t wait to meet the other girls and I leave on Sunday … gonna start doing more fight training, getting more aggressive quite soon.”
The reboot will mark Stewart’s return to big-budget franchise films, having appeared in the ‘Huntsman’ series earlier in her career.
She said: “It is not maybe everyone’s immediate response that it would be, like, something we would have to see again because the one I grew up with was so much fun, and you know, the re-imagining is so grounded and well intentioned and really shows the way women can work together now. It tries to be warm and funny, but it lacks a kitch element that we have seen before that works so well.
“We are not trying to do an impression of the last one, so yeah, I think Liz is like so genuinely naturally funny all the time anyway.”
The film is being directed by Elizabeth Banks, who previously helmed the comedy sequel ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ and she is also due to star as Bosley in the movie.
The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot is scheduled for release in September 2019.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ewan McGregor wants to make a film in his own back garden.
The ‘Christopher Robin’ actor – who has children Clara, 22, Jamyan, 17, Esther, 16, and seven-year-old Anouk with estranged wife Eve Mavrakis – spends months away on movie sets so thinks it would be great if he didn’t have to leave his own property in order to get to work.
Asked his ideal next role, he said: “I’d like to shoot a film in my back garden so I don’t have to go anywhere. As an actor, you do spend a lot of time away from home and that’s something that isn’t always easy to do. So when I fantasise about doing something else, it’s always things that I could do at home.”
And if he were to change career, the 47-year-old star has a lot of ideas about jobs that could keep him at home.
Speaking to OK! magazine, he said: “I could see myself being a writer or a sculptor and having a workshop next to my house. I would just lock myself away and be quite solitary sometimes, and create something that people might be interested in looking at, while wearing my overalls. Or be able to hang around to have breakfast with the kids, take them to school and go shoot in the backyard. I would enjoy that quite a bit.”
The ‘Trainspotting’ actor admitted being away from his family is the most difficult thing about his job.
He said: “I love nothing more than being at home with my family, so I yearn for them when I’m away for extended periods making films – and even more so for the extended periods when I’m publicising my films.”
