Dua Lipa inspired by Nelly Furtado

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa looks to Nelly Furtado for lyrical inspiration.
The ‘New Rules’ hitmaker channels heartbreak into her music just like the ‘Maneater’ singer, but it was only once she was older that Dua came to realise that the 39-year-old singer was also singing about sex on her racy tracks such as 2007’s ‘Promiscuous’.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, Dua said: “I’ve been listening to her album since I was really little, at first I didn’t know what it meant.
“It escalated to where I kept on listening to those albums and I started to understand the lyrics and it had more of a meaning.”
Nelly’s influence on Dua has more than paid off as the 23-year-old star is one of pop music’s hottest commodities.
Dua teamed up with Silk City’s Diplo and Mark Ronson on her latest smash hit single ‘Electricity’, and the latter believes the ‘One Kiss’ hitmaker will be as big as Adele or Amy Winehouse after they worked together on the track.
He said recently: “I’m such a huge a fan of Dua Lipa, her voice is great, it’s got electricity.
“To watch her do her thing is amazing. She is the first UK pop solo artist to crack America since… I don’t even know.
“I mean I’m not talking about Adele or Amy, but like someone who makes really good danceable pop music.
“It feels like she has done something special, it’s like rarified air.”
Dua is currently working on her second album, but she recently announced she is dropping a deluxe edition of her 2017 self-titled LP on October 19, featuring three new tracks.
They are an exclusive collaboration with K-Pop megastars, BLACKPINK – a South Korean girl group consisting of four members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – for the song ‘Kiss and Make Up’, as well as ‘Want To’ and ‘Running’.
Teasing her fans on Twitter, Dua said: “So excited to release a super deluxe edition of my album on October 19th with 3 NEW SONGS!! Think of this as a little gift to wrap up this album cycle! Thank you for all the love and support.
“I’m so happy that you guys are happy! I was very excited about thissss but also sad bc it’s coming to an end. But also happy bc new music and new era!! (sic)”

Saoirse Ronan doesn’t often wear makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan doesn’t wear a lot of makeup.
The 24-year-old actress has admitted that unless she’s working on a film or stepping out on the red carpet she sticks to a very minimal beauty routine – only using concealer and sometimes a small amount of foundation to balance out her oily skin.
In an interview with UK Vogue, she said: “I don’t wear a lot of makeup when I’m not at work. The only bit of make-up I use every day is concealer, under my eyes. I use By Terry, the stick one. That’s really good.
“I might wear a tiny bit of Chanel foundation – Perfection Lumière Velvet – because I get really oily skin. And then if I’m feeling foxy, red lipstick.
“The classic Chanel rouge. I like NARS reds as well. I don’t really use anything on my eyes anymore.”
The ‘Lady Bird’ star also shared the skincare routine she follows to control her oily skin and achieve a clear complexion.
She said: “I use an oil cleanser by Tatcha – they come in these beautiful boxes, which I love. So I use that in the morning and at night. Then I use a bit of vitamin C serum and a moisturiser – I like Aesop. And that’s it.”
As for dressing up, the ‘Hanna’ actress revealed that one of her favourite looks was during the filming of her 2018 film ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ and the blonde beauty admitted that she enjoyed wearing corsets during filming.
She said: “I did love all the Lady Bird looks actually. But Mary Queen of Scots was probably the most fun.
“We had gowns made out of denim and all of my stuff was chainmail and wood and metal … not that many jewels. It was all very cool.
“I actually quite liked wearing a corset, funnily enough. They made them especially for us.”

Emily Ratajkowski’s fashion hack

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski has told fans how to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.
The 27-year-old model-and-actress attended the Netflix Primetime Emmys after-party, at which she wore a stunning sheer black dress and offered fans valuable advice on how to tell how see-through your outfit is.
The brunette beauty posted a photo of herself posing in her black ensemble on her Instagram account as a friend shone a light on her.
She wrote: “Real friends take flash pics to see how sheer your dress is before you leave the house. (sic)”
Emily was flooded with comments from her 19.5 million Instagram followers who loved her look, and appreciated her sharing her fashion hack.
One user wrote: “How you manage to make the most simple photos so lovely and personal is beyond me, but keep doing it. You’re inspiring models, photographers, and generally the whole industry over. (sic)”
Another said: “Thank you! This is actually so helpful!”
Emily is no stranger to showing off her body for her work and on social media, and recently stripped down to her underwear for a new ad campaign.
The sultry brunette beauty dressed up as a sexy secretary in a pair of skimpy tights, a laced romper and a flattering bra for DKNY’s new lingerie collection.
Despite posing in an array of positions – including being sprawled across the bed flashing her pert posterior – the ‘Gone Girl’ star claims in the campaign that she’s “far from perfect”.
Speaking in the campaign, she revealed: “Underneath it all, I’m far from perfect. I’m a little crazy. Just a little. I like to make my own choices but it can be hard to choose. I don’t need permission to be me, I’m tender and I’m tough. Nothing is ever just black and white.”
The ad campaign continues with Emily – who signed up as the brand’s spokesmodel in 2017 – describing herself as a “hopeless romantic” who is “never satisfied”.
Emily – who is married to actor -and-producer Sebastian Bear-McClard – added: “I believe that all women are powerful. Like, really, really powerful. I’m not afraid of change. I’m a bada**… don’t you think? Underneath is all I’m just me.”

Zac Efron goes litter picking in London

OHMYGOSSIP — Zac Efron went litter picking in London over the weekend.
The 30-year-old actor shocked bird watchers at Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve in Purfleet, Thurrock, last week when he volunteered to scoop up bits of plastic and environmentally-damaging waste at the concrete barges.
An onlooker told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He really mucked in. There was no fanfare over his arrival or anything, he just turned up and got involved. Half the volunteers didn’t know who he was, but the kids were really excited.”
It’s not known why the former ‘High School Musical’ star decided to volunteer but he is currently filming an environmental documentary on food for Netflix.
Zac started taking interest in his food earlier this year when he decided to go vegan – a plant-based diet that eliminates meat, dairy and any byproducts of animals – and he’s already noticed such a huge improvement in his health.
He said recently: “Just like everyone else, I wake up, look in the mirror, and I see the imperfections and the bags under my eyes, and think, ‘Oh, man, is this really the best I’ve ever looked? I’m getting older? What the heck?’
“Recently what I’ve started doing is searching for the cure inside that’s causing the symptoms of what I’m getting on the outside. Getting more sleep has really taken away the bags under my eyes, so I don’t need to worry about it as much. There are other lifestyle changes – I’ve been experimenting with eating purely vegan. That’s completely changed the way that my body works, and the way that I metabolise food, the way it turns into energy, the way that I sleep. It’s been brilliant. It’s been great for my exercise, and great for my routine.”

Victoria Beckham wasn’t ‘popular’ at school

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham was never the “popular girl at school.”
The 44-year-old fashion designer may have shot into the limelight with her former band the Spice Girls back in the 90s before she turned her attention to designing clothes 10 years ago, but she has admitted she’s had to work hard to get where she is today because she never had any support from her teachers growing up.
Speaking in an interview with Glamour magazine, she said: “Embrace who you are. I’ve always said it since I was really young with the Spice Girls, it’s okay to be different and when people tell you no, you say, ‘actually, yes!’ You keep going and you believe in yourself. You can never dream too big. I was never the popular girl at school and I never found anything easy and I was told, ‘no’ constantly.
“If I can do it then anyone can do it, you’ve just got to work hard, and you’ve got to surround yourself with the right people. I’m still so excited — I love what I do.”
And, looking back on her past, the brunette beauty wishes she hadn’t stressed so much about her dreams and, instead, absorbed the “journey” more.
She explained: “I would just say: ‘Enjoy the journey.’ I have enjoyed the journey, I wake up everyday and pinch myself.
“I really have enjoyed the last ten years. I’ve learnt an enormous amount. I’m surrounding myself with the best professionals in the industry and I can learn. I would say just enjoy it and work hard and I’ve done that anyway.”
As well as juggling her eponymous label, Victoria is also a mother to four children; Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven – whom she has with her husband David Beckham – and regularly feels “guilty” as a working mum.
However, Victoria is adamant her “kids and David will always come first” and, although she “freaks out” at time, she is no different from other working women.

Carrie Underwood wants to keep baby’s sex a secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Underwood wants to keep her baby’s sex a “secret for a little while.”
The 35-year-old singer is expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher – with whom she already has three-year-old son Isaiah – and, after revealing over the weekend that she tragically suffered three miscarriages between 2017 and the start of 2018, she’s decided to keep details of her unborn tot under wraps.
Appearing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Tuesday (18.09.18), the blonde beauty said when pressed on the baby’s sex: “We’d like to just hold on to things for a minute… We’d like to have a little secret for a while.”
However, the ‘Love Wins’ hitmaker – who was dressed in black jeans and a dusty pink coat for her appearance – has admitted this pregnancy is a lot different from her first because she suddenly developed a burgeoning baby bump over night.
She explained: “[This pregnancy] is a different ball game [from the first with Isaiah]. I feel like I didn’t look pregnant and I woke up and I looked like this.”
Carrie announced that she and Mike were expecting a baby in August but it wasn’t until last weekend that she opened up about her miscarriage ordeal.
She explained: “I had always been afraid to be angry. Because we are so blessed. And my son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, ‘If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing.’ And I have this amazing life. Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No.
“[But after the miscarriages,] I got mad. [I thought], ‘Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid?’ Like, what is this? Shut the door. Like, do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid.”

Millie Bobby Brown and Drake regularly text

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown and Drake regularly exchange text messages.
The ‘In My Feelings’ hitmaker may be 17 years older than the ‘Stranger Things’ actress, 14, but the pair have developed a strong friendship in recent months and she often messages him to ask him for his advice on her love life.
Speaking to Access, Millie said: “We just texted each other the other day and he was like: ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like: ‘I miss you more.’ He’s great.”
Asked what they text about, she explained: “About boys, he helps me.”
She added: “He’s a great friend and a great role mode. I love him; I met him in Australia and he’s honestly so fantastic.”
And Millie will not doubt be asking the 31-year-old rapper for more advice over the next coming years as she’s just split from her boyfriend Jacob Sartorius.
The brunette star had been dating the 15-year-old singer since the end of last year, but in matching Instagram Stories posted in July they revealed their romance had come to an end as they decided to “mutually” call it quits.
On Millie’s account, she wrote in purple writing: “The decision with Jacob and I was completely mutual. We are both happy and remaining friends.”
Rumours of a romance between the pair first began circulating late last year, when they were spotted celebrating New Year’s Eve with her family at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Fuel was then added to the fire in January when some fans noticed they were commenting on each other’s social media posts, including one tweet from Jacob which read “just another day w you on my mind (sic)”, which Millie had liked on January 8.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star then posted a picture of herself cuddling up to a stuffed bear, which was later revealed to have been a gift from Jacob.
She wrote “Thanks for the bear” with a red heart emoji and he replied “[Of] course” with a matching emoji.

Adam Thomas lands post-Emmerdale role

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas has joined the cast of ‘Pitching In’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actor, who recently admitted he will never “turn [his] back on acting” after he became a property executive, has landed a role in the BBC drama alongside former ‘EastEnders’ star Larry Lamb (Archie Mitchell), his first part since starring as Adam Barton in the ITV soap for nine years.
A post on Creative Artists Management (CAM) Twitter account read: “We can’t wait for the new @BBC family drama #PitchingIn! Congratulations to @adamthomas21 who will be on our screens next Spring to show us what a family will do to make the best of a very unusual situation! @bexelliff (sic)”
‘Pitching In’ will see Larry reunite with his ‘Gavin and Stacey’ co-star Melanie Walters for the Wales-based family drama which will be set around a caravan park on the north Welsh coast.
The series will tell the story of three generations of the same family who will try to make the best out of a tough situation.
Larry said: “Eleven years after ‘Gavin and Stacey’ burst onto the scene I’m heading out west again, switching Barry Island for Anglesey this time!
“I’m delighted to be playing the role of Frank in ‘Pitching In’ – it’s a touching, funny and romantic story and a fascinating glimpse of life on the north Wales coast.”
It’s not yet known which character Adam will portray, but his casting comes after he recently insisted he has not quit acting after landing his property exec job.
He wrote on Instagram: “yes I am working in the property industry in between jobs because as a jobbing actor you can be out of work… that’s just the nature of the business…I haven’t nor will I ever turn my back on acting …but I have a family to support and will carry on doing so…whether it be acting or otherwise . Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio hints Julia is alive but David could die

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bodyguard’ creator Jed Mercurio has dropped a huge hint Keeley Hawes’ character could still be alive – and that Richard Madden’s alter-ego may die.
The 52-year-old writer admitted there is a “grain of truth” in some of the fan theories about the popular drama show, in which Keeley’s fictional home secretary character Julia Montague was killed off halfway through the series after her personal protection officer David Budd (Richard) failed to save her from a bomb.
Jed said: “We are all sitting back and enjoying the speculation.
“It’s great that people have their own theories. Actually I do look at some of bigger theories and it’s interesting that occasionally there’s a grain of truth.
“It’s not like we are standing by going ‘hotter, colder’ as people put forward their theories.”
The ‘Line of Duty’ creator confirmed he is in talks with the BBC about a second series of ‘Bodyguard’, but he has hinted Richard’s character David may not survive the series one finale.
He said: “We don’t know yet [about a second series]. We’re just beginning that conversation with the BBC.
“We know people out there are loving series one so there would be an appetite for series two, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
“A lot goes into setting up a production and none of those conversations have taken place yet which would allow us to facilitate that production.
“Richard has done a fantastic job on this and we’re all so proud of what he’s achieved and so pleased for him. He’s such a hard-working actor and such a lovely guy that it’s great he’s getting all the attention that he deserves.
“I guess if that character survives we would have to get into a conversation with Richard about if he would be available to do another series.”
This comes despite Jed recently saying Julia is “definitely dead”, but he has confirmed there will be a definite conclusion to the dramatic storyline on Sunday night’s (23.09.18) hotly-anticipated finale.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he added: “There isn’t an alternative ending. We weren’t in a position where we could commit to do that, shoot it in different ways and edit it in different ways.
“We will definitely have a conclusion and I think at the end of it people will know exactly what they need to know.”
One of the fan theories comes from ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Piers Morgan, who doesn’t believe Julia is dead because viewers have not seen her corpse.
He recently said: “I think she may not be dead. No body, no death in TV. Jed Mercurio who wrote this has a track record of killing people off, so what better way to really shock people, when the guy who kills them off normally [brings her back from the dead], which he’s never done before?
“He’s a man who likes a surprise, I don’t think she’s dead.”
What’s more, ‘Bodyguard’ is set to reach further audiences after Netflix signed a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to premiere the series to its members outside the UK and Ireland and China from October 24th 2018.

Eddie Murphy set for Grumpy Old Men remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Murphy is set to star in a new comedy based on ‘Grumpy Old Men’.
The 57-year-old star is said to be lined up to appear in the upcoming, as yet untitled movie inspired by the 1993 classic, which starred Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon as rivals and next-door neighbours.
In the original film, the pair have been feuding since childhood, and things escalate when a new neighbour – played by Ann-Margret – leaves them both smitten.
While Donald Petrie directed the original, Tim story will be at the helm for the fresh take on the story.
Although casting hasn’t been decided for the other main roles, Deadline reports that Samuel L. Jackson could be lined up to play the neighbour.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed earlier this year that Murphy has signed up for a ‘Twins’ sequel alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
The 1988 buddy comedy saw the pair take on the role of unlikely siblings, and it looks like there will be another member of the brood.
Schwarzenegger was speaking during a panel discussion at South by Southwest when he confirmed that Murphy was set for the long awaited follow-up ‘Triplets’.
While he noted that the script was finished, the former professional bodybuilder also addressed the physical differences between the three ‘triplets’ in the movie, teasing: “Funny thing that happens in the mixing of the sperm.”
Meanwhile, ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ star Murphy had insisted he would only join the ‘Triplets’ project if the script was something special.
Asked about the possibility in 2015, he said: “A couple of years ago I met with Arnold and Danny and some writer. We had a meeting but I didn’t hear anything. I tell you – I’m not doing anything unless the script’s incredible.
“I did some movies where they offer you a bunch of money and you go, ‘OK, I’ll do it!’ I’ve done enough of those – I don’t have to do them anymore.
“If ‘Triplets’ comes together and it’s hysterically funny, I’ll do it. Same with ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ – the last couple of scripts weren’t quite there.”
Meanwhile, Eddie and his girlfriend Paige Butcher, 39 – who already have two-year-old daughter Izzy Oona together – will welcome a new baby in December and have confirmed the latest arrival will be a son.

Nicolas Cage wants to make a Blumhouse film

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage wants to make a Blumhouse Productions horror movie.
Jason Blum’s studio – which has made low-budget, well-received thrillers like ‘Get Out’, ‘Insidious’ and ‘The Purge’ – would love to bring the 54-year-old actor on board for a future film, and he’s more than up for the challenge.
Asked if there’d been contact between both parties, he told Forbes’ Simon Thompson: “No but, well, why not? He’s certainly touched a nerve, and he’s having great success.
“I work with anyone who is enthusiastic and has an understanding of what they’d like to do with whatever my instrument can offer them. I certainly would not hesitate. I think what he’s doing is a great concept and the results back that up.”
In a separate interview with Forbes, Blum was told about Cage’s desire to work with his company, and suggested he would be delighted to figure out a collaboration between the pair.
He said: “I had no idea that Nicolas Cage wants to work with Blumhouse, I’m a huge fan of his, and I love that he’s a huge fan of ours. Seriously, I’d love to have him in a Blumhouse movie; he’d be great.”
Blum, 49, even suggested a potential role for the star, and revealed he would be looking into the possibility of making it a reality.
He added: “I see him as perhaps a very concerned father of a teenage boy who has had something terrible happen to them. It would be amazing. I’m going to have to figure that out.”

Disney plans Marvel streaming spin-offs

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney is reportedly planning Loki and Scarlet Witch spin-offs for its upcoming streaming service.
The company is in the early development stage of a huge plan to create a number of limited series using popular characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Variety reports that these shows are likely to focus on Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen’s characters, and others who haven’t been given their own big screen solo outings.
It’s said that the actors are expected to reprise their big screen roles in the streaming shows, with each series set to be six to eight episodes long.
Although sources are keeping quie on production costs, it’s thought the budgets could rival those of a major studio project.
While Marvel Studios will produce the shows, Kevin Feige is going to take a hands-on role in the development of each one.
Disney’s new streaming service – due to launch next year – is reportedly set to have four to six movies a year including film and TV from Disney’s brands such as Pixar, Marvel and ‘Star Wars’.
It was previously revealed that the live-action reboot of ‘Lady and the Tramp’ will be released on the digital platform.
The company has also announced a ‘Star Wars’ series, which will be overseen by ‘Jungle Book’ and ‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau, while there will also be a programme based on ‘High School Musical’.
It’s said there are further plans to offer a number of new releases once the service launches, including the upcoming live-action ‘Dumbo’ film, and ‘Captain Marvel’.

Nile Rodgers: Lady Gaga’s more respectful than Madonna

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers says Lady Gaga was more “respectful” as an artist than Madonna in the studio.
The Chic frontman teamed up with the 32-year-old star on a cover version of his band’s 1978 disco anthem ‘I Want Your Love’ for their first album in 24 years, ‘It’s About Time’, and he said she showed a lot of appreciation for working with the music legend than the 60-year-old Queen of Pop.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: “Gaga’s a different kind of animal.
“[Before recording] she said, ‘Nile, I want to know what’s in your mind.’
“She was incredibly respectful … That right there is a huge difference in personality.”
The ‘Le Freak’ hitmaker produced Madonna’s second studio album ‘Like a Virgin’ in 1984, and said the superstar was determined to do things her way.
He recalled: “She knew what she wanted.
“I love that about her because if you’re that much of a believer I’d rather go with you … until it sucks. If it sucks, I go, ‘Er, you really don’t want to do it like that’.”
The 66-year-old producer previously revealed that he tried to convince Madonna to change the key of her hit song ‘Material Girl’, which didn’t go down well.
In his 2012 ‘Le Freak’ memoir, he wrote: “I’d worked with so many international superstars, but I’d never come across such an iron will before.”
Meanwhile, Nile previously revealed he splashed out $100,000 on a guitar for ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker Gaga.
The pair teamed up for a 2016 Grammy Awards tribute to the late David Bowie and Nile wanted to show his appreciation for his pal by sending her a “twin” instrument to match his.
He said: “I sent her a $100,000 guitar with 3,000 gold Swarovski crystals and gold leaf. It’s unbelievable. We have twin guitars – hers is gold and mine is silver.”
The musician previously praised Gaga for being “groovy as sin”.
He said: “Her talent is brilliant and she’s got the biggest heart in the world. She cares about people.”
As well as Gaga, Nile Rodgers and Chic teamed up with the likes of Sir Elton John, Emeli Sande, Craig David, Stefflon Don and Mura Musa on ‘It’s About Time’, their first studio album since 1992’s ‘Chic-ism’.
The album was delayed for several reasons, including the deaths of Nile’s close friends; music legends David Bowie, Prince and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell.
The ‘Get Lucky’ guitarist was also diagnosed with prostate cancer six years ago but was given the all-clear in 2014.
He underwent surgery for cancer on his right kidney last year, which also added to the delay.

Wolf Alice: It’s hard to be a guitar band now

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolf Alice think it’s “hard” to be a guitar band in 2018.
The indie group’s frontwoman Ellie Rowsell says it’s difficult for rising talent to find the space to record “heavy” music and the expensive cost of hiring out equipment and buying instruments cane be a burden.
In an interview with the I Paper, she admitted: “I think it’s hard to be in a standard guitar band now because, in London at least, it’s so expensive to find a place where four people are allowed to make loads of noise, where they’ve got all the equipment that’s needed to make heavy music.
“Whereas you can sit at home and make really amazing synth sounds and incredible drum beats, and make it sound professional in your room.
“When everyone talks about how there’s not many guitar bands if you look at the way the world is, and the climate, it’s difficult to have 24-hour access to equipment and stuff like that. How accessible is £7,000 amps, and electricity, and saving up to get into a studio?”
Meanwhile, Wolf Alice recently announced they will “say goodbye for a while” after they finish touring ‘Visions of a Life’.
The indie band have been performing their album for the past year, and Ellie said they are planning on having one big “party” to celebrate the end of their extensive run, which ends in October.
She said: “We’re definitely gonna say goodbye for a while and we need to have some kind of party.
“I’ll do anything for a celebration so definitely yeah. Nothing’s confirmed but we will be having a party.”
The four-piece outfit – completed by Joff Oddie, Theo Ellis and Joel Amey – who have been shortlisted for the 2018 Hyundai Mercury Prize with the record – are set to perform at the Q Awards on October 17, which would be the perfect opportunity to party with their peers.
The band will also head back into the studio to work on their third album.

The Weeknd and Daft Punk face $5M Starboy lawsuit

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd and Daft Punk are reportedly being sued over their hit song ‘Starboy’.
The ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ rapper and ‘Get Lucky’ hitmakers have been accused of copying the work of Somali-American poet Yasminah on the 2016 track.
According to TMZ, the latter is suing the pair for at least $5 million for allegedly “ripping off” her 1999 song ‘Hooyo’.
The R&B artist is convinced that the musicians copied several of the beats, tempo and hooks on the track from The Weeknd’s album of the same name.
In legal documents obtained by the gossip website, Yasminah states that she has seen several articles on blog sites and social media which comment on the similarities in the two songs.
Yasminah’s producers reportedly previously took the pair to court over ‘Starboy’, but she never received a penny from the cases.
‘Starboy’ also provided the inspiration for The Weeknd’s very own Marvel Comics series.
Issue one of ‘The Weeknd Presents: Starboy’ was released in June, and stars the rapper himself as the hero.
Speaking previously about his superhero alter ego, the 28-year-old star – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – said: “‘Starboy’ is the next chapter in this chronicle, this saga.
“I guess this is the fourth chapter. He’s a character that we created. It’s so funny, we want to create a comic out of him as well […] He’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album.
“He’s definitely made his appearance in different records in the past as well. He’s a more braggadocios character that we all have inside of us.”

Hailey Baldwin owns 150 pairs of sneakers

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Baldwin owns 150 pairs of sneakers.
The 21-year-old model – who is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and his wife, graphic designer Kennya – has admitted that her sports shoe collection is “next level” and she has to donate clothes every six months as she is sent so much by Adidas – who she recently launched her first collection with, unveiling it at London Fashion Week with a catwalk show which featured Winnie Harlow and Leomie Anderson.
In an interview with Glamour, she said: “Honestly, I have too many clothes. Adidas spoil me, they send me boxes and boxes of doubles and triples of the same thing. I mean – love them to death – but I have a fitting room at my house and there’s sneakers all over the floor. I go through cycles of donating stuff every six months because it’s so much.
“The sneaker collection is next level. I have like 150 pairs. As I have gotten a little older, I have gotten tidier for sure. I at least know how to find everything now. Everything has a place – even if it’s not co-ordinated.”
The blonde beauty – who is married to pop star Justin Bieber, according to her uncle Alec Baldwin – is known for her signature casual look comprised of sweatshirts, tracksuit bottoms and hoop earrings, and has admitted she likes to keep it simple when styling herself.
Hailey said: “When it comes to styling tracksuits, I think it’s about doing something simple. Like what I am doing! I will wear trackies with a really cool coat, a leather jacket or a cool sweater. What we are doing with a lot of it in the show is putting those cool diamond earrings with everything, or cool sunglasses. Putting on a cool pair of sunglasses can change everything – you can be in an actual gym outfit and you can walk through life not looking like a mess.”
