OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Fanning related to her “unlikeable” ‘Teen Spirit’ character.
The 20-year-old actress stars as wannabe popstar Violet in ‘Teen Spirit’, the directorial debut from Max Minghella and Elle admitted she felt “connected” to Violet, even though she didn’t necessarily like her.
She told The Wrap: “It’s funny that I related to her because I think when outside people, what they think of me as is not this character. I smile a lot, I laugh a lot, and in this movie, we really don’t do that very much at all. I felt so connected to Violet. I feel like I grew up a lot also after the making of this film as well, getting to play her, and also knowing that you don’t necessarily have to play a character that is likable.
“I think that’s why I love her. She’s not necessarily your typical girl in school that would be super popular. She’s harsh. And to make someone who has that edge into a hero in the film, that’s something that I loved. I was excited, I don’t think I’ve ever played a character like that before.”
Elle recently praised her director Max for creating a collaborative environment on set.
She said: “He’s a pop-music w***e, basically. He loves pop music. I think he drew inspiration to write this from High School Musical. He’s like, ‘I know this is not highbrow exactly, but it’s very enjoyable and the songs are good.’ And it’s true.
“He lived with the script for such a long time that he has every shot in his head and he is very particular. He’s someone that he would be listening to his headphones, listening to the music of a take, timing the camera movements out to the music.
“The best directors create an environment that’s conducive for the artists to work, and Max is just so collaborative. He knew that sometimes I was still possibly unsure, and that I needed that support with the singing, and just very sensitive to that and everyone’s moods.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam and Noel Gallagher are being lined up for Glastonbury 2019.
Although the warring brothers played the legendary UK festival with their band Oasis in 1995 and 2004, they are set to return as solo artists next year.
After Liam, 46, revealed he has already signed on, Noel, 51, told MirrorOnline: “I would ¬absolutely love to play Glastonbury next year. I love that festival but I’ll probably be fourth on the bill.”
Meanwhile, Glastonbury Festival’s Emily Eavis recently hailed Liam Gallagher’s set last year on the Other Stage at the music extravaganza at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England as “incredible”
Emily – who chooses the acts with her father Michael Eavis – said: “We love Liam, did you see his crowd last year in the Other Stage field? Incredible.
The event, which will return in 2019 after taking a break this year, is the perfect place for Liam to perform with the Foo Fighters after the 45-year-old rocker turned down the chance to duet with the ‘Best of You’ group last year.
The ‘Songbird’ songwriter was invited by frontman Dave Grohl to join them on the Pyramid Stage, but Liam declined because of the lack of time for rehearsals.
The ‘Greedy Soul’ singer said at the time: “He asked me to come on and do a song. I said no, cos I need a bit of rehearsal. I know it’s cool and all that, but I need a rehearsal.”
However, the rocker said he would’ve loved to have done a duet with the ‘Run’ hitmakers’ drummer Taylor Hawkins on his solo single ‘Range Rover Bitch’.
He said: “I tell you what I wanna do. I wanna do ‘Range Rover Bitch’ that Taylor [Hawkins, drummer] made. That’s the tune.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Williams has promised the final series of ‘Game of Thrones’ will be “incredible” for women.
The 21-year-old actress – who plays teenage assassin Arya Stark in the HBO fantasy drama – insists accusations of misogyny levelled against the show are unfounded because as the series has progressed, the female characters have grown stronger and found themselves in positions of power.
She said: “For me, ‘Game of Thrones’ is a medieval world in which women don’t have a lot of rights yet they still prevail.
“But I do think that as the seasons have gone on, it’s become more and more amazing for women. And this final season is going to be incredible.
“It just feels great, being on set with all these girls.
“They’re all ruling, you know, they’re all back on top – it’s pretty impressive.”
And Maisie suggested her alter ego will survive until the end of the show.
She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: “Season one to eight, that’s what I wanted. I was in the first episode and I want to be in the last.”
Though the British actress used to see a lot of obvious similarities between herself and Arya, she now thinks there are more “subtle” likenesses.
She explained: “When I was younger, the similarities between us were quite black and white; I was a tomboy who liked to climb trees.
“But now, I’ve changed and I realise they’re more subtle. We’re both hot-headed and I like to jump the gun.”
Though Maisie is sad to be leaving ‘GoT’ behind, she’s excited about the possibilities ahead.
She said: “I’m still young but I could play a 21 year old with their own family – getting offered that sort of part is very intriguing.
“More recently, I’ve been reading scripts of 16-year-old characters and thinking, these are complex girls I couldn’t have played when I was 16, but now I can really get into their psyche.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ayda Field broke down in tears when an ‘X Factor’ audition song reminded her of her father’s death.
The 39-year-old star’s father Haldun Evecan, who she had no contact with between the ages of three and 18, died of a heart attack aged 68 in 2014 and Ayda contestant J-Sol’s performance forced her to confront her grief as it brought back memories of her late dad.
She told the Daily Mirror: “I will never forget how the world swallowed me up on that day when I found out.
“When J-Sol sang the first note, I was like, ‘Oh my God, here we go’.
“It touched me. I feel I needed to hear that song. I needed to feel some things I wasn’t ready to deal with. I was grateful.”
The scenes will air on Saturday’s (22.09.18) episode of the ITV show.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Ayda and her husband and fellow judge Robbie Williams kept their new baby a secret from everyone, including their ‘X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell.
The couple recently welcomed daughter Colette ‘Coco’ Josephine Williams via surrogacy after a “long and difficult” struggle to have another baby and everyone they work with on ‘The X Factor’ was shocked when they announced the exciting news.
A show source said: “It took everyone by surprise. Nobody could quite believe it. Even Simon Cowell didn’t know.
“We’ve seen lots of Robbie and Ayda lately. They have been on great form on the judging panel. The fact they were going through so much behind the scenes has come absolutely out of nowhere.
“But obviously everybody here is delighted for them and we look forward to seeing them again at the next stage of filming.”
Ayda announced the new arrival on Instagram, sharing a picture of their hands and those of their children, Coco, Theodora, five, and Charlton, three.
Ayda wrote: “I spy with my little eye an extra little hand … So we have been keeping a very special secret! We are delighted to share with you that we have had a baby girl….welcome to the world Colette (Coco) Josephine Williams!!
“It has been a very long and difficult path to get here, which is why we have kept it on the down low. Family comes in all forms, and this little lady, who is biologically ours, was carried by an incredible surrogate mother, to whom we will be eternally grateful. We are over the moon to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives and so blessed that we live in a world which makes this possible. As with Teddy and Charlie, we ask that you respect Coco’s privacy and allow us to grow into our new team of 5! #TeamWilliams (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby got Ant McPartlin’s blessing before taking over from him on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 37-year-old presenter will join Declan Donnelly for the upcoming series of the ITV show after Ant took a year off from work to focus on his sobriety and Holly admitted Ant was involved in the discussions about his replacement.
She told the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “He was part of the discussion from the off. He’s happy that I’m looking after it until he gets back. It does help that we all know each other.”
Holly’s husband Dan Baldwin will bring their children, Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and three-year-old Chester, out to Australia as she admitted her main concern in taking on the job was being separated from her family for a month.
She said: “Dan will bring them out, so it’s a little adventure for them as well. It was an issue. I don’t think I could have left them for that long. Obviously they’re going to have a tutor, but their school was really understanding.
“They’ve never been to Australia, but they have some Australian friends at school who’ve been telling them all about the giant spiders that live down the toilet, so they’ve been calling them bum-eating spiders.”
While Holly’s ‘This Morning’ co-star Phillip Schofield is supportive, she admitted it will be strange for both herself and Dec to work with new partners.
When asked if she will find it weird to present without Phillip, Holly said: “Yes, but I think it’s going to be much weirder for Dec. I mean he’s only ever worked with Ant.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Eli Roth hopes ‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’ will introduce kids to “scary movies”.
The 46-year-old filmmaker has always wanted to make a family-friendly film and is paying homage to the 80s classics he loved as a child because he thinks the genre has been “watered down” over the years and was keen to make things fun but spark a little bit of fear in his young audience.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to do a kids’ movie, but it had to be my version of a kids’ movie.
“When I was growing up, my first scary experiences in a movie theatre were those fantastic early Amblin movies. Films like ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark’, ‘Poltergeist’, ‘Gremlins’, ‘Goonies’ – these were the films that really made you want to make movies. The first 20 minutes of ‘E.T.’ are so scary, and none of those films pandered or talked down to kids….
“Somewhere along the way, kids movies got very watered down and became sanitised. They’ve become either animation or PG-13 superhero films.
“I wanted to make a movie that reminded people how great these films can be, and do a true, pure PG-rated movie for kids. Really make a gateway movie that gets kids into scary films.
“The violent films I saw as a kid were on VHS at a sleepover. You obviously can’t start a kid on ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, it’d traumatise them, but if you want your kid to get into scary movies this is the movie you take them to. To show them how fun it is to be scared.”
But Eli knew it was important to consider the adults who would also be watching just as much as younger viewers when making the movie.
He added in an interview with Den of Geek: “It’s fun to go see a movie with your parents when you’re a kid, it’s a good family activity.
“So you have to have a movie that parents aren’t going to be bored with…
“It’s so much fun to be screaming in the theatre with a bunch of people. That collective, communal experience of screaming, laughing and having fun.
“There’s just nothing like it. The movie’s so bonkers and crazy that there’d be nothing like seeing it on the big screen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Shears admits his break-up influenced many of the songs on his solo album.
The 39-year-old singer’s 11-year relationship with actor-and-producer Chris Moukarbel ended in 2015 and the demise of his most significant romantic relationship and his relocation from New York to Los Angeles all seeped into the lyrics of the tracks on his first solo LP because has losing a huge part of his life.
In an interview with Gay Times magazine, the former Scissor Sisters frontman said: “I was devastated. We’d been together since 2004, so he’d been with me through all of it. We had so many memories and shared experiences and it’s really just the saddest thing to say goodbye to that person.
“It feels like you’re losing a huge part of your life – which I was. He’s an amazing man, and it’s always gonna hurt, it’s always gonna be there with me. ”
“I really had nothing ahead of me. I had nothing going on, I was breaking up with my partner, so I decided to just leave and go to New Orleans on my own.”
Jake’s self-titled album came out in August and was his first release of new music since the Scissor Sisters’ final LP, 2012’s ‘Magic Hour’.
However, the flamboyant frontman insists he had been working towards this record his “whole life” but he just didn’t have the confidence of life experience to make it before.
He said: “This is my dream. I think I’ve been trying to make this album my whole life, but I just don’t think I was old enough, and I don’t think I had enough experiences under my belt.
“I didn’t want to put something out until it was something I was totally, completely in love with. It’s just been a total labour of love.
“I want it to sound exactly as it sounds now. And it’s all on my own money! So I have to completely stand behind it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker wants to be a role model for boys as well as girls.
The 36-year-old actress has taken over the lead role in ‘Doctor Who’ from Peter Capaldi and while she is thrilled to be paving the way for young girls as the first female Time Lord, she says it is also hugely important for young boys to look up to women.
She told The Australian: “I am asked an awful lot about girls looking up to me as the first female Doctor, but just as important is boys looking up to women.”
And Jodie was thrilled to recently meet a young male fan, who was dressed up as her version of the Doctor.
Meanwhile, Jodie has previously insisted that gender should not be a concern when it comes to casting the Doctor as the Time Lord is an “alien who inhabits different bodies”.
She said: “I knew that there would be a huge amount of people it would be a shock for. But this job celebrates change more than any other role – you have a physical regeneration, so casting [a woman] supports that story and doesn’t go against the rules of the show in any way.
“I’m playing a Time Lord who’s essentially an alien and inhabits different bodies and this one is female.
“The best thing for me though is that, for the first time in my life, I am not playing a stereotypical woman because as much as I approach everything as an actor, I am continually labelled by the female version of that character.
“I recently had someone ask me, ‘Are you playing it [the Doctor] as a girl or a boy?’ I replied, ‘I’m just playing it’. This is the most freeing role because there are no rules.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Redford is “like lightning in a bottle”.
The 82-year-old screen legend recently confirmed ‘The Old Man and the Gun’ – a comedy drama about “gentleman” bank robber Forrest Tucker, who escaped from prison 18 times and was still committing crimes in his seventies – will be his final work as an actor and his co-stars are thrilled that they got to be part of his final movie.
Sissy Spacek told The Hollywood Reporter: “He’s like lightning in a bottle. When I found out this was going to be his last film, I was like, ‘Oh my God!'”
Isiah Whitlock Jr. added: “It’s an amazing feeling, because I gotta tell you, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever be the guy in his last film.”
And director David Lowery said: “I just try not to think about it. It’s just too overwhelming. As a fan, it gets really emotional. I think of ‘The Old Man & the Gun’ as just another great Robert Redford movie.”
However, Robert has admitted that announcing his retirement was a “mistake” and he wishes he had simply “slipped away” quietly.
He told ‘Extra’: “I think that was a mistake that I ever brought that up, that’s something you can’t talk about it, you just slip away from…You can slip away from that, it’s been a long career, I am very proud of it, but I shouldn’t have mentioned that.”
But the ‘Sting’ actor isn’t stepping away from Hollywood entirely as he’s going to be producing and directing, and confirmed he’ll next be getting behind the camera for a movie adaptation of ‘109 East Palace’.
The veteran actor recently admitted ‘The Old Man and the Gun’ was the “right” movie to end his career on because it’s an uplifting story.
He said: “This feels like the right film to go out on as an actor because the film I had done before that – ‘Our Souls At Night’ – I was very proud of but it was very serious, kind of a heavy lift, a dramatic love story with Jane Fonda. It was a wonderful film to work on but it was very sad so I wanted the last film I act in to be uplifting.
“It’s an incredible, bizarre story because it’s true. This guy really did exist, he really did rob banks, he really had a good time, he never hurt anybody, he was always smiling, enjoying it, getting put in prison, escaping from prison, getting put back in prison, escaping again. Back and forth, back and forth.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cher felt an “outsider” when she was growing up.
The 72-year-old performer has gone on to find huge success in the music and acting worlds but admitted that the feeling of not belonging has never left her.
Speaking to Australia’s Courier Mail’s Confidential, she confessed: “I felt like an outsider when I was growing up. I didn’t really fit in. I didn’t really want to try to fit in. You never really forget it, no matter how successful you become. No matter what, you always have empathy and know what it is like to feel different.”
Meanwhile, Cher recently admitted she has “never been a huge Cher fan”, despite being one of the music industry’s best-known talents.
Asked to recall when she started to feel confident as a singer, she confessed: “I never feel confident. Off and on, I’ve felt good about my singing. But I’ve never been a huge Cher fan. I like doing it more than hearing it. So except for a couple of albums…”
Asked to name her best Cher album, she told The New York Times newspaper: “It’s probably between ‘Believe’ and a highly underrated album called ‘Closer to the Truth’. There’s not a bad cut on either one of them. I’ve made millions of albums, and most of them are absolutely no good. But some of them aren’t bad.”
By contrast, Cher finds acting to be a straightforward challenge and says working in a film studio is easier than performing on a stage.
After it was suggested that acting is hard work, the ‘Mamma Mia 2’ star said: “It didn’t feel that way to me. Also, I didn’t have to look at an audience. My whole life, I had to look out at the audience and go: ‘How am I doing? Do you like this?’
“But when you act, you only have to look at the other actors. You just have to trust them and find a way to become this other thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price’s divorce has “ground to a halt”.
The 40-year-old former glamour model originally asked ex-stripper Kieran Hayler for a quickie online divorce so that they could draw a line under their turbulent five-year marriage once and for all but it has been held up after Kieran, 31, reportedly demanded a payout.
A source told the Sun Online: “Katie doesn’t even have a lawyer to deal with the case at the moment. She wanted a quick online divorce, but Kieran refused because he wants to be paid what he thinks he deserves in the split.
“Now, there’s been no movement on the case for weeks. Katie’s got a lot on right now – a new boyfriend, her mum is ill and the bankruptcy case is hanging over her.
“She can’t deal with another thing so the divorce isn’t top of her priorities. But the longer it drags on, the more likely it is that they’ll both be going into 2019 still married to each other.”
Katie called time on their relationship last year when she caught Kieran – who has been treated for sex addiction – in bed with their nanny Nikki Brown.
And she has said she feels like she’s “wasted” the last five years of her life because she should never have reconciled with Kieran after they previously split when he had an affair with her friend Jane Pountney.
She said: “He’ll never change and I just can’t stand him. I should have split up with him when he first cheated on me but I was so determined to make it work.
“Right now, I feel like I’ve wasted five years of my life with him.”
Katie – who has children Jett, five and four-year-old Bunny with Kieran, Junior, 13, and 11-year-old Princess with Peter Andre and Harvey, 16, with Dwight Yorke – is having a tough time at the moment as she is facing bankruptcy and her mother is suffering from a terminal lung condition.
She recently split with boyfriend Kris Boyson, 29, and is currently dating 25-year-old Alex Adderson.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’s Anamelia Silva claims Ellis Hillon and Lewis Gregory got intimate during Ellis’ short stint in the house.
Ellis was axed from the show after just 19 hours earlier this month when racist tweets she had written in 2014 were unearthed and Anamelia – who became the first contestant to be evicted on Friday (21.09.18) – claims Ellis had time for some romance before she was ousted.
When asked what housemates were told after Ellis left, Anamelia told The Sun Online: “I was told she and Lewis were doing some things under the covers.”
Meanwhile, Ellis issued a statement declaring she is “deeply ashamed” of her behaviour after she was kicked out following the emergence of her offensive tweets.
In a statement, she said: “I want to stress how sorry I am about any offence and upset that was caused due to what I have said on social media.
“I understand that I was totally in the wrong and I should never have said such horrible things.
“All the comments were from my teenage years and I am deeply ashamed of them. I didn’t stop to think how they could be so hurtful at the time.
“I am totally heartbroken at the fact that my dream of going on Big Brother has ended this way and I wasn’t able to show people the ‘real me’.
“If I had been given the chance I would have shown everyone that I’m not racist. I was getting on very well and interacting with the other housemates from different backgrounds and I want people to know that I’m not a bad person. I hope people can forgive me.”
A spokesman for ‘Big Brother’ said: “As a result of our investigation into offensive and unacceptable posts on social media, Ellis Hillon has been removed from the Big Brother house.”
Before being axed, Ellis was summoned to the Diary Room where she was handed a piece of paper with the tweets on and asked if she had sent the messages.
She said: “Yeah I did, years ago … but yeah.”
Big Brother then said: “Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language. As a result we will be removing you immediately.”
When asked if she had anything to say, she replied: “No. Apart from that I’m sorry. I don’t want to see anyone. I just want to go home.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chas Hodges has died at the age of 74.
The English musician – of Chas and Dave fame – passed away early Saturday morning (22.09.18) after a battle with oesophageal cancer.
A statement posted on their Twitter account reads: “It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our very own Chas Hodges. Despite receiving successful treatment for oesophageal cancer recently, Chas suffered organ failure and passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of this morning.”
Chas had previously opened up about his cancer diagnosis.
Speaking last year, he said: “I had five weeks of radiotherapy, five days a week, and saw the doctor on Tuesday and he said he doesn’t want to see me for three months – that’s when you know things are going alright.”
Chas previously insisted undergoing chemotherapy hadn’t “changed his life at all”.
He shared previously: “They told me to try to get 20 minutes of gentle exercise every day, so I’ve still been playing the piano and going around the allotment every day, and cycling there. It’s kept me going, but I haven’t overdone it. I feel fit.
“There hasn’t been one day I haven’t been able to do that. There were a couple of days during the chemo where I was getting a bit sleepy. I would just have a 20 minute nap and that worked perfectly. It hasn’t really changed my life at all.”
Pop duo Chas & Dave rose to fame in the 1970s for their eclectic mix of music from the pop and folk genre. Their hits include ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’, ‘The Sideboard Song’ and ‘Rabbit’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz felt there was more “trust” on the set of her latest movie because most of the crew were women.
The 21-year-old actress stars in ‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post’ and says the atmosphere on set was much different as well as the end result because of the “female lens”.
She told the Independent newspaper: “With pretty much everyone on the set being a woman, I wasn’t told what I had to get done in the scene; they trusted me to do my job, and Ashley shot it not focusing on the a** and the bodies, just the beauty and reality of it. And it’s still really intimate, and more emotionally provoking than most I’ve seen on screen ever, but that’s because of the female lens.”
Meanwhile, Chloe previously confessed she was thankful she had a female director when it came to her sex scene in the movie.
Speaking about the way filmmaker Desiree Akhavan handled the sensitive scene, she said: “The representation of femininity and female pleasure is usually very clinical and objective when shot through a male gaze. Desiree hid herself and the crew away and just let it be Quinn and me and our female director of photography. That takes strength as a director. She allows the people she hires to do the jobs she hired them to do. As much direction as she gave me, she also didn’t. She knew when to just let us be the characters.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tributes have flooded in for Chas Hodges, who has died at the age of 74.
The ‘Ain’t No Pleasing You’ singer – who is of Chas and Dave fame – passed away on Saturday morning (22.09.18) after a battle with oesophageal cancer and Twitter has been full of stars young and old paying tribute to the legendary singer.
Sir Lenny Henry wrote on Twitter: “What a shame. When they were on Tiswas they were always kind, respectful and played live. RIP Chas.”
Whilst comedian Paddy McGuinness added: “RIP Chas Hodges. Chas and Dave were always on the telly when I was a nipper, they’re cockney through and through but we also loved them in the North. I always wanted to see them live. Sad loss to the entertainment industry. #chasanddave (sic)”
Jo Whiley, radio presenter, wrote on the social media site: “Oh no. This is the saddest news. Chas was a lovely lovely gentleman & our Maida Vale Xmas show was one of my absolute favourite shows. Much love to his family, close friends & Dave (sic)”
There was also a poignant tribute to Chas from Tottenham Hotspur football club, as Chas was a huge fan of the team and the duo recorded a number of songs for the club when they reached the FA Cup Final.
They wrote on their official Twitter account: “Everyone at the Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our own, Chas Hodges. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles shared on social media: “So so sad to hear of @ChasnHodges passing. Wonderful musician, wonderful man. Always generous, always smiling. Spurs trough and trough. OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston’s divorce was “heartbreaking” but “gentle”.
The ‘Leftovers’ star and the ‘Horrible Bosses’ actress announced their separation in February after more than two years of marriage and seven years together and breaking his silence for the first time, Justin insists it was entirely “amicable”.
Speaking to The New York Times, he said: “The good news is that was probably the most – I’m choosing my words really carefully – it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity. Again, neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It’s more like, it’s amicable.
“It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be. It was heartbreaking, only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day to day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of.”
Justin and Jennifer announced they were splitting up with a joint statement.
Speaking through their representative, they said at the time: “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
The couple tied the knot in August 2015 and Justin previously revealed it was made “so much more special” because they kept it secret.
He added: “It’s so much more special when it’s just your closest friends and family and it’s lovely. [Jennifer and I] wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don’t want it to be hectic.”
