Chico feared dying alone during stroke

OHMYGOSSIP — Chico feared he was going to “die alone” during his stroke.
The 47-year-old former ‘X Factor’ star – who starred on Simon Cowell’s ITV talent show in 2005 – fell ill whilst driving home from a gig last week, due to a blood clot on his brain, and he has described how he thought he’d taken his “last breath” while he was inside the vehicle.
He said: “I literally thought it was Chico’s time.
“My angels were working overtime that day.
“My eyes were going in the back of my head literally – I was in a bad way. I was far from OK.
“There was no sense of Chico. I was having a near-death experience. It was like I’m dying. I thought I was just about to take my last breath.I thought, ‘I’m parked in a car, without anyone around me, and I’m going to die alone.’
“The expression when your life flashes in front of you – it was like that. Like I was reaching this near-death experience. Time itself vanishes.”
The ‘It’s Chico Time’ hitmaker’s brush with death made him realise he wants to make sure he has achieved his dreams before he leaves the planet.
He admitted: “I found myself saying in my mind: ‘I’m 47, and I really don’t want to go because I don’t feel I’ve accomplished what I came here to do.
“I have not accomplished my mission. But I said, ‘If I close my eyes now and don’t wake up, I want you to know that I’ve done my best.’ ”
Chico’s healthy lifestyle aided his recovery and he is now running Blockfit classes in a bid to increase other people’s chances of surviving strokes and heart attacks.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’m hoping to take this experience and change lives with it because that’s what it’s about.
“Now I am a living, walking, talking miracle so I can say to you, ‘Look I’ve been there, I’ve seen it, I’ve had a near-death experience, but this is what you can do to prevent it and this is what we’re going to do from now on to inspire a whole new generation to think right, do right, be right and it’s alright.’ ”
Chico isn’t allowed to drive for 30 days whilst he recovers and had has been forced to cancel his forthcoming work gigs.

Paul Stanley: This is the end for KISS

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Stanley insists the final KISS tour is the “end” of the band.
The 66-year-old singer-and-guitarist admits that though they previously went out on a farewell tour in 2000, the forthcoming shows will be their last shows ever as they feel the time has come to draw a close to their career spanning more than four decades.
Paul told Rolling Stone: “Let’s put it into perspective and try to at least get a sense of what’s different.
“The farewell tour took place 19 years ago.
“The farewell tour was at the end of the time that we had brought back the two original members [guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss] and it was such drudgery and so difficult and so unhappy that it just seemed like ‘let’s put the horse down.’
“And after the tour was over, it didn’t take me very long to realise I didn’t want to say goodbye to the band; I wanted to say goodbye to two members.
“So that was the differences.
“We’ve had 19 years of the band. The band has never been better, happier … But with all that in mind, it’s time to think about an end.”
The dates for the ‘Crazy Nights’ hitmaker’s upcoming ‘End of the Road World Tour’ are yet to be announced, but they claim the run of gigs will be the “most explosive, biggest shows we’ve ever done”.
They said: “This is going to be our last tour.
“It will be the most explosive, biggest shows we’ve ever done. People who love us, come to see us. If you’ve never seen us, this is the time. This will be the show.”
They added in a statement on their website: “All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years.
“This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t.
“KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable. (sic)”
KISS – completed by Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer – were all set on bowing out at the end of the 2000/2001 tour, and while they made a comeback, it proved to be the last time they performed with fellow original members Ace and Peter.
Gene said at the time: “There just aren’t any more mountains to climb. We want to go out in style with the people that put us here, the fans.”

Ashley Graham thinks all bodies are cool

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham insists all body shapes are “cool”.
The 30-year-old model admitted she’s been inundated with comments accusing her of glamorising being overweight, but all she wants to do is to encourage her fans to be confident in themselves, no matter what their size.
She said: “There is one guy who said to me, ‘Stop making fat look cool, you are going to kill somebody.’
“The teachable moment there is that I am not making anything cool except for confidence and people feeling great about themselves.
“I think for someone to look at me and place me in a box is very small-minded. Yeah, I’ve got fat and I have got lots of it, but I am not sitting here saying that fat is cool; what I am saying is that you are cool no matter how large or small you are.”
But Ashley pays no attention to her critics because she refuses to give them the “power” to make her feel bad.
She added in an interview with Glamour UK’s website: “No one has power to make you feel bad about yourself unless you give them that power. You shouldn’t take anything anyone says on social media to heart because that is just a person writing their own insecurity to you. At the end of the day, it isn’t about addressing the haters, it’s about addressing them with a teachable moment.”
Ashley – who is married to 29-year-old videographer Justin Ervin – confessed that being a role model for so many women makes her want to “create more change” for her “social media sisters” and to keep the “fighting the fight” for body positivity and confidence.
She added: “It makes me feel like I am doing something to contribute to this world. It makes me want to keep going and creating more change.
“I look at my fans across social media as my sisters; we are all in this together and we are fighting the good fight.
“Honestly, there is strength in numbers and it feels like there is nothing we can’t do if we support each other. Women in the public eye advocating to make their stories and voices heard is becoming more and more common.
“I am so proud of all the women who have raised their voices.”

Jodie Marsh praying for sick dog

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Marsh’s pet dog Rosie has been hospitalised again leaving her an emotional “mess”.
The 39-year-old star’s Rottweiler spent several days receiving treatment at the vet’s in June and was in a critical condition after being admitted due to violent vomiting and bleeding caused by poison she ingested.
Rosie was eventually discharged from the vet’s and allowed to return home but this week the lovable mutt has fallen ill again with ileus which is causing her intestines to fail.
In a series of posts on her Twitter account, she revealed: “Rosie update: she is staying in the animal hospital again as she now has ileus. Basically it means her intestines aren’t working properly. I’m totally lost now. I was so strong when she was poisoned & now I’m out of my mind. Thank you so much for all your kindness … I really appreciate all your lovely messages, I just can’t even look at the moment as I’m so upset about Rosie. Giving all the other animals lots of love tonight and trying to stay positive. My friends have been amazing too. I’m just a bit of a mess at the moment x (sic)”
The new medical emergency has left Jodie raging about the “scum who poisoned” her dog but she is trying to stay positive and has been praying that Rosie makes a full recovery.
She added: “Obviously I have huge anger towards the scum who poisoned her. Trying to focus that anger into something positive instead but it’s hard. Ugly people inside and out. Praying with everything I have that Rosie is ok. Thank you all again. Be back soon for an update x x x
No change in Rosie. There’s still no movement in her guts. Absolutely out of my mind with worry. The nurse just said to me “isn’t she lovely, she’s such a lovely dog” and she really is. Come on Rosie girl, I NEED you to get better (sic)”

Will Smith’s scary bungee jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith’s bungee jump saw him experience both “absolute terror” and “magnificent bliss”.
The ‘Men in Black’ actor marked his 50th birthday on Tuesday (25.09.18) by leaping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon and he thought the experience was “beautiful”.
He said while dangling on the rope: “This is some of the most beautiful stuff I have ever seen in my life.
“Nothing will ever be scarier than that. It goes from complete absolute terror to the most magnificent bliss you’ve ever felt.”
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actor streamed his jump live on his YouTube channel and appeared nervous as he hovered over the canyon.
But after the jump, he blew kisses to the crowd – including wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their children Jaden and Willow – and exclaimed: “Oh my God, this is gorgeous, this is gorgeous.”
Will admitted the death of his father had made him want to live his life more “freely”.
Speaking to his ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ co-star Alfonso Ribeiro after the jump, he said: “I am not going to be able to articulate it thoroughly right now but here’s a real relationship between freedom and joy. There’s an idea bubbling in my mind, as fear as a cage, fear actually traps you.
“My father passed just little over a year ago and there’s something about the confrontation with death that makes you live life more freely. The freedom to just be and do who and what you are, is absolutely exhilarating.
“Life is hard. You might get hurt. Your heart might get broken. You might lose your job. But you’ve still got to commit.”
Will undertook the bungee jump as part of a partnership between the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation and Global Citizen to support their ongoing advocacy work on education that allows them to support Education Cannot Wait, a global initiative that provides millions of children in crisis-affected areas access to education.

Kristen Bell’s marriage rows

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell’s relationship with Dax Shepard “totally works”, even though they “argue all the time”.
The 38-year-old actress – who wed the ‘Parenthood’ star in 2013 after six years together – admitted she and her spouse are “polar opposites” but it’s the rows between them that make them connect best with one another.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “I’m the polar opposite of my husband and that is not hyperbolic. We disagree on 99.9% of things and we argue all the time.”
“We both have the type of brain that likes to be stimulated by the devil’s advocate point of view, so it totally works.”
Kristen – who has two daughters, Lincoln, five, and three-year-old Delta with her spouse – is vocal about the issues that matter to her but she has no desire to go into politics, though she hopes she can use her position for good.
She said: “My job is not to go into politics. My job is that I have the ear of 18 year olds because of ‘The Good Place’ or ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’.”
The ‘Good Place’ actress likes to play flawed characters because they reflect the fact she’s not perfect herself.
She said: “Honestly, every day you quit at seven, throw in the towel, scream, and then wake up and do it all over again.
“I know from the outside it can look like, ‘Oh! She’s got it so together! And has a career that looks nice and is doing all these things with these charities.’
” But I am struggling to keep it together on a day-to-day basis, and I know that’s what everyone feels like, so that’s what I like to see in my characters.”

Kristen Bell’s Frozen theory

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell believes ‘Frozen’ has been a huge success because there is “no villain”.
The 38-year-old Hollywood actress voiced Princess Anna in the 2013 Disney 3D animation which told the story of Anna’s magical sister Elsa, Queen of Arendelle, who turns her kingdom into an ice world.
The plot focused on Elsa’s redemption and the reconciliation between the two sisters and Bell thinks it resonated with children and adults because it gave a platform to an unconventional “hero without a cape” and allowed the audience to “fight for the underdog”.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Kristen said: “In the final draft, it was like, ‘No, not only does she not need to be forgiven for anything, she’s the most sympathetic character in the whole piece.’
“It’s a much more complex story when there’s no villain. I want to watch someone fight for the underdog, I want to watch a hero without a cape.”
Kristen – who has two children, Lincoln, five, and Delta, three, with her husband Dax Shepard – is reprising her role as Anna in the ‘Frozen’ sequel.
The actress has been reunited with Idina Menzel as Elsa, Josh Gadd as Olaf and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and completed her voice recordings back in April.
Speaking about the eagerly anticipated movie, she said: “You know I can’t say a lot because Disney have people everywhere but I have recorded the movie. There will be edits before it’s finished. I know the songs, I know the story, it’s very good. I can’t say much more than that.”

Tim Roth to star in The Song Of Names

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Roth is to star in new drama ‘The Song Of Names’.
The 57-year-old actor is to appear in the film with Clive Owen, Catherine McCormack, Jonah Hauer King and Gerran Howell in the latest project from Francois Girard, whose previous work includes ‘The Red Violin’ and ‘Silk’.
Filming begins in London on Thursday (26.09.18) from a script based on the detective novel of the same name by classical music scholar Norman Lebrecht before moving on to Budapest, Treblinka, Montreal and New York.
Discussing the movie, Girard said: “Friendship, brotherhood, betrayal and redemption over two continents and five decades. This is the remarkable cinematic journey of ‘The Song Of Names’, which brings us back to the darkest page of the Twentieth Century’s history. “Walking the grounds of the Treblinka Memorial, I found my true motivation for this project. I am committed to making my small contribution to the fight against historical amnesia.”
Nick Hirschkorn is producing along with Robert Lantos, Lyse Lafontaine and Viktoria Petranyi and getting the film to the big screen is a passion project for Nick.
He said: “I’ve been obsessed with telling the story of ‘The Song of Names’ ever since I read Norman Lebrecht’s remarkable debut novel 15 years ago. To be finally bringing it to the screen with such a talented team of collaborators, all bound by a shared passion for this epic and timeless tale, feels like a dream come true.”

Nicky Wire misses anniversary for gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicky Wire missed celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary to perform at Absolute Radio’s 10th Birthday party on Tuesday (25.09.18).
The 49-year-old bassist joined his Manic Street Preachers bandmates James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore to top the bill at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and though he was happy to be there for the radio station’s bash, he missed his own milestone with wife Rachel.
He told the crowd: “Today is my silver wedding anniversary. I know what you’re thinking – I don’t look old enough… Cracking day.
“We’re here, where we first lived when we moved to London [instead].”
The band were performing their final gig of 2018 and had the sell-out crowd dancing and cheering throughout their set, which included early hits such as opener ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ and ‘You Love Us’, as well as tracks from their latest album, ‘Resistance is Futile’, including ‘International Blue’, ‘People Give In’ and ‘Hold Me Like a Heaven’, and a cover of The Cure’s ‘In Between Days’ before ending the night with a rousing rendition of the anthemic ‘A Design For Life’.
Blossoms had opened the show – which was hosted by Absolute Radio DJs Dave Berry and Danielle Perry – with a well-received seven-song set, including favourites ‘There’s a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)’ ‘Honey Sweet’ and ‘Charlemagne’.
Second on the bill was George Ezra who kept the crowd entertained with talk about his travels in between favourites like ‘Paradise’ and ‘Budapest’, despite admitting he had planned to be the “moody artiste” on stage.
Speaking ahead of his performance, he told Breakfast Show presenter Dave: “I’m not joking, I do it at every single gig. Before you see me go on tonight, I’ll be stern and stoic. And then the lights, I walk on stage, and oh! It’s like an old friend.”

Gisele Bundchen’s secret boob job

OHMYGOSSIP — Gisele Bundchen decided to have a boob job after breastfeeding her children.
The 38-year-old supermodel decided to undergo a breast augmentation after she breastfed her kids – Benjamin, now, eight, and Vivian, now five – but immediately regretted her decision.
She told People magazine: “I was always praised for my body, and I felt like people had expectations from me that I couldn’t deliver. I felt very vulnerable, because I can work out, I can eat healthy, but I can’t change the fact that both of my kids enjoyed the left boob more than the right. All I wanted was for them to be even and for people to stop commenting on it. Things can be looking perfect on the outside, but you have no idea what’s really going on.”
And Gisele – who has her two kids with her husband Tom Brady – has praised the American football quarterback for supporting her through the ordeal, which took place secretly in 2015.
In her memoir, ‘Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life’, she admitted: “When I woke up, I was like, ‘What have I done?’ I felt like I was living in a body I didn’t recognise.
“For the first year I wore clothes because I felt uncomfortable. He just said, ‘I love you no matter what’ and that I looked beautiful.’ This was definitely another lesson: What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. But I wish I would have learned that a different way.”

Christina Aguilera returns to the stage

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera took a decade off from touring to be with her family.
The ‘Genie in a Bottle’ singer has returned to the stage for her ‘Liberation’ tour but wanted to take time out from touring life to be with her son Max Liron, 10, and her daughter Summer Rain, four.
Speaking to the crowd at her show in Miami, Florida on Tuesday night (25.09.18), she said: “Being a mom is really important to me and I’m a very hands-on mom. I never want them to feel that they live in my shadow or that they are not important. I don’t wanna be that kind of mom, so I took some time off for them. But momma needs to go back to what she’s meant to do.”
And Max may one day join his mother on stage.
Speaking about his “incredible voice”, she shared: “Summer and I stick to our Disney songs together, BUT, my son Max actually has an incredible voice – he doesn’t showcase it a lot – but I caught him singing Maria the other day, and he was pitch perfect. He definitely has talent there if he ever wants to do anything w/ it #xtinaQA (sic)”
However, Christina’s daughter isn’t a fan of her singing.
She shared: “When I’m doing my vocal warm-ups, she slams the door and goes, ‘You’re interrupting Peppa Pig!’ It’s hilarious … The last time I was on tour, I was pregnant with my son onstage, so I was about to give birth. At a certain point I had to stop touring for safety reasons. You get to a certain point [where] you have to stop. Ever since then I was like, ‘How do people do this with kids and touring?’ But, you know, it’s time for mama to get back to what I was born to do.”

Robyn back from the wilderness

OHMYGOSSIP — Robyn is “back from the wilderness” after a two year break.
The ‘Dancing On My Own’ hitmaker decided to take some time out of the spotlight between 2014 and 2016 so she could undergo therapy but she says she is in a much better place now and is grateful she had the time away.
She said: “I spent a lot of time in Sweden between 2014 and 2016 because I was in therapy. I was in psychoanalysis for a long time and it was a period where I really decided to give that part of my life the time it deserved. It’s something you do three or four times a week, so I didn’t travel at that point because therapy is such a commitment.
“One of the ways it has informed me making music is maybe realising how psychedelic it can be to be sad. The record has taken four years to make and I’ve put everything I’ve got into it. I came back from the wilderness and in a much better state of mind.”
And the 39-year-old singer felt it was necessary to take some time to “rebuild” herself.
She added to British magazine Ponystep: “I was grieving for my friend who died and grieving a relationship that fell apart. I kind of had to rebuild myself in a way that I hadn’t done before. Some people die from sadness, that’s a very common thing, right? But if you make it through to the other side, it opens up other doors.”

Gina Rodriguez wants to elope

OHMYGOSSIP — Gina Rodriguez wants to “elope” to avoid wedding planning.
The ‘Jane The Virgin’ star recently got engaged to Joe LoCicero, her boyfriend of two years, and admits she is thinking about running away and tying the knot because of the stress of getting things planned for the big day.
Speaking on The Talk, she said: “As of this Sunday, I feel like we’re gonna elope. It is so much drama! It’s a lot of work. There was a point where I was like, ‘Everybody arrange everything, I just wanna show up, I just wanna do it, I just wanna say, ‘I do’, I’m happy. And then I started hearing what they wanted to do, and I was like, ‘Hmm, I don’t know about that…’ and then I started hearing about how you like, offend people. Everything you do is offensive! You know, if people aren’t bridesmaids, they’re offended … It’s crazy!”
Meanwhile, Gina previously confessed she hasn’t “even thought” about wedding planning.
She said: “Oh, I haven’t even thought that far. I can’t even imagine planning anything. Also, I need to finish Jane. I’m like, whew. But it’s good. It’s good … Life is good. Love is good. He did great [with the ring]. He did great. Yeah, ’cause it’s my style, right? That’s all that matters. He knows what I like and he knows my heart and he rocks.”
Joe popped the question to Gina recently but she says she will keep how it was done a secret.
She shared: “That I’m gonna keep to myself, that I don’t think I’m gonna ever share that. Because there’s only so many things that you get to own when you become a public figure, because it’s the blessing and the curse of it, you know?
“The blessing is that you get to do what you love every day and you have so many incredible people supporting you. But then the little curse is that nothing’s a secret anymore, you don’t get to hold anything to yourself. So I’m gonna hold that one for as long as I can.”

Duchess Catherine to return to work next week

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine is set to return to work on October 2.
The 36-year-old royal has been off work since the birth of her son Prince Louis of Cambridge five months ago but she is set to undertake her first royal engagement next week in Paddington, London.
A tweet on the official Kensington Palace Twitter account reads: “The Duchess of Cambridge will visit the @SCTrust Forest School and Wildlife Garden at Paddington Recreation Ground on Tuesday 2nd October.”
It is the first official royal engagement the Duchess of Cambridge has undertaken since April, although she has been seen at a few big family events in the recent months including the RAF centenary service at Westminster Abbey and the Trooping the Colour as well as more personal visits including attending the finals at Wimbledon and also the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “It is traditional for new royal mums to take a six-month break from official engagements. If she wanted, Kate could disappear into the background until October!”
Whilst the Duchess has yet to return to work, her husband Prince William – with whom she also shares Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three – has been visiting Namibia to fight poaching and wildlife crime.
A series of tweets on Kensington Palace’s account read: “The Duke of Cambridge received a spectacular welcome of singing and dancing before meeting people involved in making the Kunene People’s Park Initiative a success. The Kunene People’s Park Initiative is a ground breaking initiative supported by @Tusk_org to provide Namibian communities with greater control and benefits from their wildlife .. The Duke of Cambridge has been visiting Namibia’s Kunene region to see the dedicated work of Save the Rhino Trust Namibia and IRDNC, being undertaken with the support of @Tusk_org #EndWildlifeCrime (sic)”

Reese Witherspoon fell under Duchess Catherine’s spell

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon thinks Duchess Catherine is “magnificent”.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star was thrilled to meet the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and says she “immediately fell under her spell” when they first met.
Writing in her new book ‘Whiskey in a Teacup’, she shared: “The scream that issued from my lips upon receiving [the invitation] – you would have thought I was going to die. I wake up early, mind you, but on that day I was up at 4 a.m. doing my hair. That’s early, even for me. ‘I’ve never seen you this excited,’ my husband said. He wasn’t kidding.
“Jim took pictures of me in the car. You can see rays of happiness shooting out of my face. I love Kate Middleton that much. And she did not disappoint! She was just lovely and warm, elegant and composed. She also told a joke, and I immediately fell under her spell. She’s just as magnificent as she seems to be. She’s a very compassionate, socially conscious, deeply caring person.”
And Reese thinks the Duchess of Cambridge – who has Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, five months, with her husband Prince William – is a “special person” and she is “in awe of that kind of dedication”.
She added: “It takes a very special person to decide to commit to that kind of life, to choose to be under public scrutiny every moment. Now that she’s in that position, her entire life is in service, forever. I am so in awe of that kind of dedication.”

Kristen Bell is honest with husband over crushes

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell is “honest” with her husband when she finds another man attractive.
The ‘Frozen’ star feels it is important to be open in relationships and she will tell her spouse Dax Shepard if she fancies another man but insists it doesn’t mean she loves him any less.
Speaking on The View, she said: “I think that the one thing that marriages don’t have anymore is honesty. We’re playing this sort of Ken and Barbie game, like, ‘These are the rules and they should be applicable to everyone.’ I just don’t think that they always work for everyone. I also personally believe that attractiveness coming from your partner towards someone, the idea of being offended by that, it’s not really about your partner. It’s about your narcissism. And you need to identify that you’re questioning, ‘Why am I not good enough?’
“I love him more than anything on this Earth … [but] I’m also attracted to other guys because some other guys are very handsome … But me being attracted to another man, I know because I’m experiencing it, has absolutely nothing to do with my husband,” she said. “So I know for a fact that when he experiences the same thing, it doesn’t have anything to do with me not being good enough… The jealousy issues that I would have towards my husband are me not dealing with my issues of inadequacy.”
Meanwhile, Kristen previously confessed she finds monogamy tough.
She shared: “I see the benefits of a society with monogamous relationships, but it’s difficult because you’re still attracted to other people. Dax was in an open relationship in his 20s and it scared me when we first started dating. We don’t have one and I don’t know if we ever will.”
