OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Alan Sugar will make “at least three” more series of ‘The Apprentice’.
The 71-year-old business mogul has just finished working on the 14th season of the BBC contest and is thankful it still has a future, though he doesn’t know whether it will go on beyond his current contract.
Asked how long he’ll keep doing the show, he said: “At least three more years because that’s the contract I signed. After that, I don’t know.”
Though he’s been working on the show for over a decade, he still isn’t tired of the format.
Interviewed by Piers Morgan for Event magazine, he said the new series – which returns on Wednesday (03.10.18) – will feature: “The usual bunch of wannabes, but some great characters and fantastic tasks. I enjoyed filming it tremendously.”
Alan recently had a major health scare after doctors discovered a blocked artery but he admitted his wife Ann didn’t initially take him seriously when he said he was feeling ill until he was checked out by medics.
He explained: “I had a lucky escape really. I wasn’t feeling great so booked an appointment to have a scan.
“That morning, Ann and I did a 25-mile tandem ride, with me doing most of the bloody work, of course.
“Then we saw the doctor and he said I had a major block in my artery and could have had a heart attack at any moment. I could have literally dropped dead on that bike ride. It’s a thing called the ‘Widow Maker’ because so many die from it.
“The funny thing is when we were at the doctor’s surgery waiting for the result, Ann was calling me a bloody hypochondriac, wasting her time.
“Then we both nearly passed out when the doctor said what it was and how dangerous it could be.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin calmed the crowd after a barrier collapsed during the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday (29.09.18).
Fans in New York’s Central Park had dashed for the exits amid fears a gunman had opened fire on the packed-out audience at around 7.30pm, but the Coldplay frontman reassured them that they were all safe.
He said on stage: “What happened is a barrier fell down.
“Of course it caused people to frightened, but nobody is trying to hurt anybody.”
He then invited NYPD Assistant Chief Kathleen O’Reilly on stage to further reassure the crowd.
The officer said: “Everyone relax, calm down. It was a barrier collapse. There were no shots fired.”
The ‘Viva La Vida’ hitmaker then encouraged the audience to head back to the concert.
He quipped: “If you want to come back and you’re not too frightened by Hugh Jackman’s huge muscles and you wanna come back, this is the time. Slowly, gently, kindly to each other.”
Those who had exited the concert were allowed to return, and performances – including slots from The Weeknd and Janet Jackson – continued as normal.
A spokesperson for the event confirmed there had been a “minor incident”.
They told E! News: “We did have a minor incident. A barrier collapsed and it made a noise…Police say no cause for alarm.”
Meanwhile, Chris’ girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, gave out her cell phone number to the entire 60,000 crowd to offer support to survivors of sexual assault.
The ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ star said: “I want to help you, women and girls around the world, tell your story.
“This is my phone number. I want you to call me and I want you to tell me your story in a voicemail.
“Or I want you to send me a message at dakota.johnson@globalcitizen.org and I want you to tell me what you’ve gone through as a women or girl in the world that’s been suffering.
“If we don’t speak the same language, that’s OK. We have a team for that. “We’ll translate it. And if you’re going to threaten to hurt me, we have a team for that too.
“I’m sick, I’m repulsed, I’m infuriated by the double standards that continue to threaten women as second-class citizens. Enough.”
The concert was staged for charity Global Citizen, which works to combat hunger and poverty around the world. Other performers included John Legend, Shawn Mendes, and Cardi B.

OHMYGOSSIP — Damian Hurley wants to star in a ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ remake.
The ‘Royals’ actor – who is the son of actress Elizabeth Hurley and her former boyfriend Steve Bing – was a big fan of the fantasy saga, which was based on the novels by C.S. Lewis and hopes he gets the chance to be in a new version of ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ or its sequels such as ‘Prince Caspian’ and ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’.
He said: “I’ve always loved ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, so starring in a remake of that would be a dream come true.
“And ‘Austin Powers’ is my favourite of Mum’s films; I watched it when I was really young and didn’t realise how rude it was.”
Damian, 16, has always joined his mother on set when she’s been working and got as involved as he could.
He recalled to You magazine: “Everyone would spoil me. I knew all the actors’ lines and would hide behind furniture and prompt them.
“I was even younger when my mother first went back to work and did a season of ‘Gossip Girl’ in New York.
“The director used to let me shout ‘Action!’ and ‘Cut!’ ”
But it was still a shock to the system when ‘Royals’ bosses wrote the role of Prince Hansel from Liechtenstein – initially a cameo but now a recurring part – for him and he had to keep up with the demands of being a working actor.
He said: “I came back as Prince Hansel in season four and had scenes opposite the queen and the rest of the royal family. We were shooting 16-hour days over a swelteringly hot week, with Dame Joan Collins. It was memorable and hilarious – I hope I’m invited back.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Friel has suggested her career was damaged by rejecting unwanted attention from a producer.
The ‘Marcella’ actress briefly opened up earlier this year about experiencing “advances” from an Amazon boss in 2016 and though she doesn’t want to be drawn on the matter, she’s thankful she’s a “tough cookie”, even if that’s brought along negative consequences.
She said: “I think it’s up to each individual how much they want to talk about it or how much they don’t.
“There were so many other people who had stories to tell and such important stories of horror, that they needed to do that.
“I’ve always been somewhat a tough cookie. I’ve been in the business since I was 13.
“I won’t go into detail about how I think things might have had an effect because I’ve managed to overcome them.
“But I could say no quite loudly. And I probably did suffer the consequences.”
Asked if she means in terms of advancing her career, she said: “I think that says enough.”
Though Anna is keen for there to be “equality” in the workplace, she thinks people are growing over-cautious and preventing progress.
She told Grazia magazine: “I just want there to be equality and fairness and us all working together.
“I still love the old-fashioned men and women being able to flirt.
“And I think there’s so many guidelines, we’re not going to be able to know how to move forward.”
But the 42-year-old star is pleased there’s been a lot of progress made in terms of roles for older actresses.
She said: “I don’t think the age barrier is being as enforced as it once was. I’ve got work up until 2021 and I’m not slowing down.”
However, the former ‘Pushing Daisies’ star thinks there’s more pressure than ever on women to look good.
She said: “It’s getting worse. Look at the amount of reality TV programmes. And retouching – I can’t bear it. It just makes it impossible for anyone to live up to.
“We’re creating a fabricated world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk have got married.
The ‘Iron Man’ actress wed her producer partner in front of family and friends including Robert Downey Jr., Jerry Seinfeld, Steven Spielberg, and Cameron Diaz and her husband Benji Madden in a private ceremony at a house in the Hamptons on Saturday (29.09.18).
On Friday (28.09.18), the 46-year-old actress – who has 14-year-old daughter Apple and 12-year-old son Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin – and the producer, 47 had enjoyed an intimate rehearsal dinner at the nearby home of Jerry and his wife Jessica Seinfeld.
The couple have been together since 2014 after meeting on the set of ‘Glee’ but Gwyneth only spoke publicly about Brad – who has two children with ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik – for the first time earlier this year.
She said in January: “At midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be. I have decided to give it a go again.
“Not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy.”
The ‘Shallow Hal’ star recently admitted she hasn’t been very “involved” in planning her wedding because she’s been too busy.
She said: “I’m very busy so I’m actually not that involved in it. I have so much going on and I’m sort of outsourcing that. I’m probably the least bridezilla person probably to a fault that has ever come across my wedding planner’s office doors.”
When Gwyneth tied the knot with Coldplay frontman Chris in December 2003, the pair missed out on a proper ceremony as they decided to simply elope, and so the ‘Sliding Doors’ actress was looking forward to keeping things more traditional the second time around.
She said: “Chris and I eloped, so I’ve never actually had a wedding, or any of these fun bride kind of things. I’m really enjoying myself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Karey Kirkpatrick has a chicken coop from when he worked on ‘Chicken Run’.
The 53-year-old director has admitted he likes to keep little props from each movie he’s worked on so and has managed to stash away over the years a hut from when he wrote the 2000 animated comedy and a slither of the peach from when he penned ‘James and the Giant Peach’.
Speaking to Collider.com, he said: “I have the spider from ‘James and the Giant Peach’, I have a hut from Chicken Run, I have a piece of the peach from ‘James and the Giant Peach’ – these are all movies I have worked on.”
Kirkpatrick’s most recent animation includes ‘Smallfoot’, which will hit cinema screens this weekend, and he has admitted he’s been working on the animation for six years because it takes so long to get it up and running with a cast.
He explained: “It changes a lot over the course of five years. ‘Smallfoot’ was about six years so a lot of development going on.
“I don’t think people realise when they watch one of these is that nothing exists. Nothing. So if I ever say: ‘Oh can they fly in on a glider here.’ They don’t have a glider in the prop warehouse so it has to be made on a computer, it has to be coloured. It take a lot of people and a lot of hours to make these things.”
The movie stars the likes of Danny DeVito, Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James and Gina Rodriguez.
DeVito said: “I feel so honoured to be in ‘Smallfoot’ because so much work goes into these. I’ve done a bunch of them, but you realise the amount of work that goes into an animated movie, it’s staggering.
“It’s great, it’s so great when you’re looking around and you see kids laughing and having a good time. That’s the reward.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono’s daughters have banned him from speaking about Harvey Weinstein.
The U2 frontman worked closely with the disgraced movie mogul on 2013’s ‘Long Walk to Freedom’ as he wrote the accompanying song ‘Ordinary Love’ and though he admitted the producer has one “very good work” for his band, the 58-year-old singer – who has daughters Jordan, 29, and Eve, 27, and sons Eli, 19, and John, 17, with wife Ali – won’t say too much about the sexual harassment allegations against him or the wider #MeToo movement because his kids don’t think it is his “time”.
He said: “He did very good work for U2. My daughters are very unforgiving in this regard. Whenever I get philosophical, they tell me, ‘It’s not your time to speak on this.’ ”
The ‘One’ hitmaker is also an avid philanthropist and has worked closely with a number of former US presidents, but he currently doesn’t want to “be near” President Donald Trump because he doesn’t “trust” him.
He told the Sunday Times magazine: “I’m wise enough to know that any sentence with his name in will become a headline, so I just don’t use his name. It’s nothing personal. It’s just you have to feel you can trust a person you’re going to get into that level of work with.
“Lots of my lefty friends doubted I could work with George Bush, but he came through, as did Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.”
Asked if Trump is on side, he added: “No, he’s trying to cut all that stuff at the moment, which is why I don’t want to be near him. If he’d put down the axe, maybe we could work with his administration. But we can’t with the sword of Damocles hanging.”
But Bono did recently meet Vice President Mike Pence because of his involvement in the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief, which was founded in 2003.
Asked if he found him helpful, he said: “Well, we haven’t had the vicious cuts that the administration proposed.”
The ‘Vertigo’ singer has retained his friendships with many of the former presidents he has worked with, including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
He said: “I saw the 44th president last week — I’m still close with Obama. He and his missus and his kids have been in our local pub.
“I don’t like to think of my relationships with these people as retail. Having gone through some stuff together, we stay together even when they’re out of office.
“I saw George Bush on his ranch. He spent $22m on antiretroviral drugs and I had to thank him for that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Peter Jackson thinks too many First World War movies are “cliched”.
The 58-year-old director is fascinated by the Great War – which took place in Europe from July 1914 to 11 November 1918 – but finds films about the subject too “serious” and focused on the same points.
He said: “I think First World War movies are in danger of being a cliché. They take the most basic concept, which is soldiers going over the top, and that’s all the films are. I’m just not excited about most of them.
“Also, and this is going to sound weird, First World War films are often too serious. They show troops having a miserable time, whereas, if you are in a bad place, humour comes to the surface.
“The soldiers didn’t have self-pity. There are a lot of laughs.
“Many veterans say it was an escape from a boring home or dull job. An incredible adventure. They don’t quite talk in the way you would expect people from the war to speak. It was the first time many had travelled overseas. It was like a Boy Scout camp.”
The ‘Lord of the Rings’ filmmaker has created a new 90-minute documentary on the subject, ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, which used archive footage that’s he’s turned to colour, sharpened the images and slowed down and he thinks the changes he made offers a better focused on the individuals who were part of the war effort.
Peter – who upgraded 80 hours of footage as a gift to the Imperial War Museum – told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: “The footage made you focused on the human beings.
“It really brought them to life once they stopped being slightly sped-up characters from 100-year-old footage. Their faces are incredible. You see their reactions, and it draws attention to them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington “almost died” as a child.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actor got into difficulties in the water when he was just four year old but was rescued just “seconds” before it was too late.
He recalled: “Once, I nearly drowned in a swimming pool. When I was four. I was seconds away from death, apparently.”
The 31-year-old actor – who is married to his former ‘Game of Thrones’ co-star Rose Leslie – used to have a volatile relationship with his older brother and joked his career stems from the way he used to be able to get his sibling into trouble very easily when they were young.
Discussing the sibling rivalry in his new play ‘True West’ – in which he stars on London’s West End alongside Johnny Flynn – he told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: “My older brother will find this play hilarious, because he used to kick the s**t out of me.
“We’re very, very close, but we fought when we were younger. There’s something in this play that appeals to that side of me and my brother’s relationship, way back when. We were quite competitive.
“I won’t tell you what my brother used to do to me, because it was horrible…
“Actually, my brother attributes my whole career to the fact that I learnt to play at crying early on, being a little s**t. He didn’t actually have to beat the c**p out of me to get into trouble.”
After years of starring as Jon Snow on ‘Game of Thrones’, Kit is delighted to be returning to the stage.
He said: “I’ve just worked in television for nine years.
“There is always an appeal to doing theatre for me. There never won’t be.
“[Johnny and I] were saying over lunch how we were both taken to the theatre constantly as kids. It really is bred into you as an English actor, this love.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono “doesn’t know” if U2 will tour again.
The ‘One’ hitmakers are currently on the road on their ‘Experience and Innocent’ concert series – which started in May and ends in November – and the 58-year-old singer admitted performing live night after night isn’t as easy as it used to be, especially in the wake of his much-publicised mystery brush with death two years ago.
He said: “I can’t do as much as I used to. On previous tours I could meet a hundred lawmakers in between shows and now I know I can’t do that.
“This tour is particularly demanding.
“Whether you have a face-off with your own mortality or somebody close to you does, you are going to get to a point in your life where you ask questions about where you’re going.”
Asked if that means there won’t be another tour, he told the Sunday Times magazine: “I don’t know. I don’t take anything for granted.”
And drummer Larry Mullen – who requires an hour of physio an hour before and an hour after each concert to cope with the physical demands – suggested there is at least a “really long” break on the cards for the band, though doesn’t think they’ll quit music for good.
He said: “We’ll finish this and then there will be time to decide what we want to do next. I’d like to take a really long holiday…
“I assume there’ll be another album. I don’t know that anybody needs another U2 record or tour anytime soon.
“People could do with taking a break from us and vice versa.”
Guitarist The Edge is worried about his friend and frontman’s health.
He said: “These days, we try to save his voice. He has a good range. His top note would be a B these days, but he has hit C, which is what a top tenor would hit, and is very, very high. An opera singer would hit that maybe once a night…
“He has a very ambivalent attitude to his physical self. He doesn’t naturally take responsibility for his physical wellbeing. Which is fine in your twenties, but you get to a certain point … It is a difficult shift for him. If you spend too much time thinking you are old and past it, you probably can’t do it any more.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West has changed his named to “YE”.
The controversial rap star has made the announcement on Twitter ahead of his much-anticipated appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
He wrote on the micro-blogging website: “the being formally known as Kanye West
“I am YE (sic)”
Kanye is poised to release his latest studio album, ‘Yandhi’, on Sunday (30.09.18).
But the 41-year-old star’s previous effort – which he released in May – was simply titled ‘Ye’.
Kanye has not yet elaborated on his apparent name change, but he may address the issue while on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
Meanwhile, Kanye – who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian West – was hospitalised in 2016 amid concerns about his mental health, but he revealed earlier this year that he is not talking to a professional therapist.
The ‘Famous’ hitmaker explained: “I use the world as my therapy.
“Anyone I talk to is my therapist. I will pull them into the conversation of what I’m feeling at that point and get their perspective … I’ll talk through things, anybody that I’m around and I put that as advice to people, use people around you as your therapist because they probably know more about you.”
Kanye admitted that the medication he’d been prescribed was an “imperfect solution”.
He added: “It helps calm me down … there’s power in being controlled and calm.”
Kanye also reiterated his ambition to become the US President one day, although he admitted that some issues – such as crime in his home city of Chicago – cannot be solved easily.
He said: “I might be President one day.
“I might be in that situation where it’s harder for me to explain to the masses why something isn’t happening that they feel the concept of a President should be able to fix.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson thinks he’s “judgemental”.
The 26-year-old singer – who is best-known as a member of One Direction – has recently taken up a judging role on the UK version of ‘The X Factor’, and Louis has admitted his new role suits his personality.
He confessed: “I’ve said a few times, watching from home, I’m judgemental, to be fair.”
However, Louis confessed that his attitude is a little hypocritical as he was totally unprepared for his own audition on the show prior to joining One Direction.
Louis is currently preparing to release his debut solo album and despite his excitement about ‘The X Factor’, he was determined the show wouldn’t distract him from his music.
The British star told BBC Radio 2: “My thing was at first, I was super excited to get offered a job. It is something I’ve kind of been angling for since I’ve come off the show, to be honest.
“But the thing to me was, it was important that there wasn’t going to be a compromise on my music. I think what I’m realising from doing both at the same time is it is a lot of work, and it is a lot of hours but it can be done.”
Despite his international fame, Louis still felt anxious about taking up his new role on the popular TV show.
He said: “I suppose like any job, I was nervous the first couple of days. I was a little bit overwhelmed on day one, first day of auditions, because it was kind of like jumping back into the deep end.
“But once I felt like I’d found my rhythm and I knew the format of how everything worked, honestly, I’ve absolutely loved it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell is a “big germaphobe” at the airport.
According to the 48-year-old supermodel’s fellow ‘Star’ actress Ryan Destiny, she wears face mask and even covers plane seats with napkins if she thinks they’re too “dirty”.
Speaking to the New York Post’s Page Six column, she said: “When she goes to the airport, she does the whole nine, [even wearing a] mask. She puts napkins down on the entire seat if she feels it’s dirty. I totally understand, because the airplanes can be pretty dirty.”
However, Ryan added that Naomi’s self care regime keeps her smelling “really good”.
She said: “But she also always smells really good. It’s the essential oils she uses.”
Naomi is one of the world’s most recognisable celebrities and she has seen her star rise and rise ever since she made her catwalk debut in 1980s, and she recently reflected on her rise to the top of the industry at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York.
After collecting the Fashion Icon Award at the ceremony, Naomi said: “I was told many times that I couldn’t do certain things because of the color of my skin.
“I let it drive me. And of course I’m human, and I found it hard at times not to take it personally. But I stand here today as a proud woman of color, and I will continue to push for diversity and equality in this industry.”
In recent years, Naomi has seemingly taken a more active interest in political and social issues.
But the fashion icon explained that she’s always taken an interest in a range of issues, even though it’s not been apparent to the public.
She shared: “I’ve been doing this since 1993. I have many hats that I like to wear, and do.
“England it seems always has to put me down to do one thing or another. This is equality, why can’t a woman do more than one thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Roberts says her dad would be “super proud” of her competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 36-year-old singer – whose father Pat, 69, took his own life in April after a long battle with mental health issues – can feel her father “with her on the dancefloor” when she is competing on the Latin and ballroom show.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Ashley said: “It’s been a really tough year and I know my dad would be super proud of me.
“I think about him when I’m dancing, and of course he is with me on that dancefloor.
“He’s definitely with me throughout this experience.”
The ‘Strictly’ star – who topped the leaderboard when the BBC One dancing competition returned to screens last weekend – admitted the former The Mamas & The Papas drummer, who initially inspired Ashley’s move into showbusiness, is always “with her” and his memory lives on.
Ashley – who’s brother Jayce also battles with mental health, following a schizophrenia diagnosis – added: “I know he’s with me in spirit. I’m really grateful to end this year off with ‘Strictly’.
“This year has helped me to grow. It’s shown me what I love in life and that’s why I’m beyond grateful to be on this show.
“I’ve found my inner strength.”
Ashley is paired with pro dancer Pasha Kovalev on the programme, and she praised him for making her feel relaxed when they are competing.
She said: “Pasha’s great at calming my nerves. He calls it our little Pashley bubble and we stay in that. It’s our team name.”

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Pritchard finds it “scary” performing lifts on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The professional dancer occasionally fears pulling off complex manoeuvres with his celebrity partners on the BBC Latin and ballroom show, and he has had to “think differently” about lifts for the latest series while he is partnered alongside Paralympian Lauren Steadman, who was born without a complete right arm.
He said: “For me, when it comes down to the choreography side, obviously I’d go to grab the hand normally and it’s not there.
“When we’re doing lifts and stuff we do have to think differently about how we’d maybe somehow get you on top of my shoulders like we are this week, and throwing you around.
“We’ve got some interesting things coming. But the thing is you just approach everything so positive – Lauren just goes in with a clear mind, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, it’s just, ‘We’ll do it’. You are fearless which definitely helps in the Charleston.
“The lifts are a bit scary. They’re scary for me so that means they must be scary for you up there.”
AJ, 23, is feeling the “pressure” ahead of the pair’s Charleston this weekend, and admitted to Lauren live on TV that it is the “hardest routine” he has ever done.
He said: “The pressure is on this week. We’re doing lifts I’ve never done before.
“It’s not an easy routine. It’s the hardest routine I’ve ever done. The lifts are the hardest I’ve ever done and it’s very quick. I feel like I shouldn’t have told her this on live TV.”
But 25-year-old Lauren is confident they will be able to pull off the routine.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘Lorraine’, she added: “It’s going to be great. They feel fine. It’s very sassy and cheeky.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby joked that Chris Hughes’ mind is full of “tumbleweed” as she took him on in a baking challenge.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ and ‘Love Island’ stars went head-to-head in a two-part Protein World challenge to make a two-tiered bake and then a batch of 12 cakes, with the latter creations having to include a portrait of their baking competitor – and Charlotte was determined to outdo her fellow baker.
She said: “I’m not nervous about the challenge, but I was born ready. I came out of the womb with a whisk.
“Chris hasn’t got a look in. My mind is a creative genius, I can imagine all that goes on in Chris’ mind is tumbleweed.
“I don’t want to brag, but I have been told I have excellent wrist action. I know that’s very important in whisking, mixing, and binding.”
Chris added: “I know Charlotte is very competitive, so her competitive edge will wear off on me. I’m quietly confident.”
The pair were supplied with Slender Baking products from Protein World as they set about creating their masterpieces, and Charlotte finished both baking challenges, dominating round one, but the second was a close call.
Afterwards, Charlotte joked: “Today has been very successful on my behalf, but I can’t say the same for Chris, sadly. The bakes were so easy – anyone could do them … apart from Chris.”
