OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage wants to play Lex Luther.
The 54-year-old actor insists he wouldn’t be right to portray Superman but he’d love to portray the DC Comics hero’s ultimate nemesis.
Discussing a campaign to make him the next Superman because he named his youngest son Kal-El, 13, after the superhero’s birth name, he said: “Oh, I think my Superman days are long gone.”
But asked if he’d prefer to be a villain, he added: “Oh, that would be great! I’d make a great Lex Luther!”
But the ‘Mandy’ actor usually prefers to work on smaller movies because they allow him to push the boundaries and experiment with different acting techniques.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “I like to break forms, try different things, and I don’t think studios are comfortable with that. But in an independently spirited film, I can do that.”
The ‘Con Air’ actor – who also has son Weston, 27, from a previous relationship – credits his kids for his strong work ethic.
He said: “I certainly have a work ethic, that I will say. I’m the first to arrive and the last to leave. But also I think my children are to thank for that. When you’re a father, you can’t behave like that.”
But Nicolas also admitted it’s important for him to keep busy because he can be “very self-destructive” if he doesn’t have work to keep him occupied.
He added: “Also, if I don’t have somewhere to go in the morning and a job to do, it can be very self-destructive. Then I’m just going to sit and order two bottles of red wine and dissolve, and I don’t want to be that person, so I have to work.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That will mark their 30th anniversary with a new BBC One documentary.
‘Take That and Us’, which will air later this year, will feature fans sharing their stories of how the boy band affected their lives as well as the trio’s own reflections on their years on the spotlight.
Made by Indigo Television, the show will follow Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald as they meet fans and react to their stories, adding their own favourite memories into the mix.
The band said in a statement: “Has it really been 30 years? There’s only one way to find out we said, as we accepted the offer of taking a closer look at our three decades in music. ”
The programme will include previously-unseen footage shot by the ‘Back for Good’ group – which used to also include Jason Orange and Robbie Williams – in their early days, as well as more recent material.
They continued: “We’ve handed over our own personal camcorders from the 90s, we’ve asked fans to share their stories from over the years and we’re bringing the story up to date by sharing some behind the scenes from our lives today as we prepare for the launch of our Greatest Hits record”
Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC, said: “This entertaining programme will shine a light on how everything changes as we celebrate the band and the music they’ve created over an incredible career.”
And documentary bosses think the programme will make for fascinating viewing.
Producers Indigo TV said: “It’s incredible to think that Take That and their music have been part of our lives and entertaining us for nearly three decades.
“As we – and the band – will discover in this close-up 30th anniversary special, Take That have influenced a generation of fans and sometimes in ways you might not expect!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicholas Hoult “didn’t know” what sort of movie ‘The Favourite’ was meant to be.
The 28-year-old actor stars alongside Emma Stone, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz in director Yorgos Lanthimos dark period comedy but he admitted he and his co-stars took some time to “figure out” the pitch of the film because of the filmmaker’s “unconventional” approach.
He said: “I remember one moment when Emma and I were doing a scene, and Yorgos walked up afterward and he goes, ‘What kind of movie do you think this is?’ And we both said, ‘We don’t know! We’re figuring it out!’
“Because the script is funny but it’s also very emotional and it’s unconventional in terms of a period drama.
“And Yorgos’s approach to create the environment that you work in and the characters is very unconventional as well. But he also manages to be very comfortable with the fact that you’re unaware of what’s happening–which is the trick to it, I think. It’s just a wonderful environment.”
Nicholas wore an elaborate white wig for many of his scenes and he admitted it was very distracting for his co-stars.
He said: “It was very difficult to be in scenes with [the actresses] because quite frequently they wouldn’t be able to look at me without laughing. So they would laugh and then that would make me laugh.
“Obviously they’re incredibly talented actresses and cover up and carry on… Where I’m useless and would just giggle.”
The movie is already being tipped for Oscars success but the former ‘Skins’ star is trying not to pay attention to the hype, though he’s glad ‘The Favourite’ has been well received.
He told Vanity Fair: “I try not to, to be honest with you. I don’t think you can ever . . . the work you do, the results of it can never be what spurs you to do things, either positive or negative.
“It’s obviously lovely when people react well to things. Or even if it’s 10 years down the road, someone comes up to you and goes ‘Hey, I saw this and it really touched me’: that can mean more than any of this.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Fincham has supported the idea that ‘Love Island’ can provide a successful career as opposed to Oxbridge.
It was recently revealed the 85,000 applications producers received for the reality show were far more than those submitted to attend the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge universities, and though this year’s winner wouldn’t advise his fans not to pursue their education, he’s grateful for the opportunities the programme has presented to him.
Admitting he “just laughed” when he was told about the application figures, Jack told Metro newspaper: “I can’t say, ‘Don’t go for your education’, but in terms of the opportunities and doors it can open for you, it has changed my life for the better and created opportunities for me. So for me personally that would be the way forward… the world is my oyster at the moment.”
But Jack – who is still in a relationship with Island girlfriend Dani Dyer – insisted he hasn’t made his fortune yet.
He said: “I wish I was a millionaire I am just gonna work really hard.”
However, the 26-year-old former stationery salesman won’t accept money for promotional posts on Instagram that don’t feel genuine.
He said: “I’ve had offers to post on Instagram, but I don’t want to post stuff that I wouldn’t wear myself or it doesn’t make sense to my life.”
While Jack had a great experience on the show, he does think it can promote an unrealistic body image.
He said: “I think there is pressure on guys. I think a lot of people who watch it go, ‘I’d love to look like that.’
“I’m a prime example of being happy in your own skin. If you want to go to the gym and look like that, do it for you, and not because you feel you have to.”
But being on the show has made him a much more confident person.
He said: “It does test you. I think coming out of there has made me stronger and definitely able to speak my feelings freely. Before, sometimes I would keep it to myself and feel a bit down. Now, I just say, ‘I feel like this’. It’s much better to be like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ollie Locke will become Mr. Locke-Locke once he is married.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star got engaged to his boyfriend Gareth Locke – with whom he has shared a 10-year friendship – in September and he has now revealed that although the couple share the same surname they are going to double barrel their monikers when they say “I do” next year.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine about his upcoming nuptials, Ollie said: “Richard Dinan and Binky will be in the wedding party. It won’t be a traditional wedding. It’s going to be entertaining and more of a party.
“We are going to be Locke-Locke. I like the idea that his family and my family will be joined together.”
Ollie – who previously dated ‘TOWIE’ star Sam Faiers, ‘Made In Chelsea’ co-star Gabriella Ellis and Topshop heiress Chloe Green – previously revealed he was bisexual, but in July 2016 he came out as gay.
Ollie and Gareth will tie the knot in Italy next year but they will have a formal and legally binding ceremony beforehand in Chelsea Old Town Hall.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant realised Gareth “was the one” during one special evening they shared together and since they announced they were getting married he has been overwhelmed by the support they have received.
Ollie said: “We were sat in front of a fire for two hours and I realised things had changed between us. I thought Gareth was the one very early on. I was pretty sure this was something that would be for the rest of my life. What is extraordinary is that we haven’t had one negative comment – on social media or in the newspapers – which is phenomenal.
“We have enormous support behind us. I think people have seen my journey and finally see the happy-ever-after that they have always backed me to have.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ actress Diane Langton won’t retire.
The 71-year-old actress – who has played ‘Nana’ Marlena McQueen on and off since 2007 – “can’t live without” her work and admitted the thought of a quiet life at home doesn’t sound appealing.
She told Metro.co.uk: “I ask myself every day when I come into work why I still do it, it’s a love/hate relationship.
“I have to do it because it’s my food. I sound very dramatic, but I actually can’t live without it, because when I’m not doing it, I go into, like, a coma.
“I’ve been doing this since I was six. You’d think I’d be really fed up of it by now! They say to me, when are you going to retire?
“And I say, retire to what? There’s only so many times I can go round Sainsburys or do the housework, or make the bed.”
The veteran actress loves her job on ‘Hollyoaks’ but has problems sticking to a routine and getting enough sleep.
She said: “You can’t go to bed late here, I go to bed at nine o’clock! And I’m a night owl, and I’m an insomniac as well, so I can’t go to bed early. It’s hard. But tomorrow I’m in at ten past seven, so I don’t know what’s going to happen tonight, whether I’ll sleep or whether I won’t sleep. Ill eventually go into a coma I expect in the early hours!”
Though Diane doesn’t think she’s very much like outrageous Marlena, she thinks those close to her would disagree – and she admitted they have a similar image.
She said: “I don’t really think I have [many similarities], and yet probably a lot of people would say that I am like her! My son says I’m like her!
“I don’t steal, and I don’t go chasing after men.
“I am a Catholic and I do practice my religion and go to church, I don’t then the next day nick a bottle of perfume!
“But I’ve got her persona I think, you know, I don’t put on any airs and graces, I’m down to earth, that’s a similarity. And I love wearing outrageous clothes! And this hairstyle today, I like big hair! So I suppose so, the image side is similar.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Rainbow’ presenter Geoffrey Hayes has died.
The 76-year-old presenter-and-actor – who was best known for hosting the classic children’s show – passed away in hospital surrounded by his family after contracting pneumonia.
His manager Phil Dale said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that the family announce that Geoffrey passed away from pneumonia in hospital with his wife, Sarah, and son, Tom, by his side.
“The family would like to express their thanks to the many fans over the years as it always gave Geoffrey so much pleasure to know that he and his Rainbow team had given so much fun to TV and theatre audiences over the years.
“There will be no further comment at the moment and it would be appreciated if the privacy of Geoffrey’s family is respected at this most difficult time.”
Geoffrey took over as host of ‘Rainbow’ from David Cook in 1974 and appeared alongside puppet pals Zippy, George and Bungle in over 1,000 episodes in 1992.
He also portrayed Detective Constable Scatliff in drama series ‘Z Cars’ in the early 1970s.
In 2002, Geoffrey spoke of how touched he was when fans approached him to thank him for being a vital part of their childhoods.
He said: “Practically all the time people come up to me and it really breaks me up because they thank me for being part of their childhood. It makes me want to cry sometimes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson has returned to Instagram.
The 24-year-old comedian – who is engaged to Ariana Grande – made his return to the photo-sharing platform on Sunday (30.09.18).
Pete – who has 2.5 million followers on Instagram – posted a blurry image of himself and captioned it: “hooray romano (sic)”
Ariana – who cancelled her planned appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ over the weekend – commented on Pete’s post.
She wrote: “This is sick and ur page looks cool never post again (sic)”
Later, Ariana added: “Where the mixtape. (sic)”
Pete deleted his Instagram photos earlier this year and subsequently explained that he was planning to take a break from social media because the internet “is an evil place”.
In response to fan speculation about his reasons for deleting his photos, he said in an Instagram Story: “No, there’s nothing wrong. No nothing happened. No there’s nothing cryptic about anything. I just don’t wanna be on Instagram anymore, or on any social media platform. (sic)”
Pete admitted he’d grown tired of the “negative energy” that was being spread across social media.
He said: “The Internet is an evil place and it doesn’t make me feel good. Why should I spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f**king lit. The fact that I even have to say this proves my point. I love you all and I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. Your neighborhood goon, Pete. (sic)”
Pete’s message was seemingly echoed by Ariana via her Twitter account.
The ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ hitmaker – who began dating Pete in May – wrote: “the energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fearne Cotton’s social life has gone “down the s***ter” in recent years.
The 37-year-old TV presenter – who has kids Rex, five, and Honey, three, with her husband Jesse Wood – has revealed that her social life has suffered as she’s struggled to balance her work commitments and raising her children.
Speaking to Women’s Health magazine, Fearne shared: “My social life has gone down the s***ter. I used to see my friends every day, but I just can’t fit it in right now.
“If I did I’d be burnt out because my work like is so busy. So, I think you do have to lose something. My girlfriends aren’t going anywhere.”
Despite her fame and success, Fearne still harbours lots of regrets about her own life.
And the British star revealed she admires people who are able to live in the present, rather than dwelling on their past mistakes.
She said: “I will never be one of those people who has no regrets – I’ve got loads of regrets, I don’t understand how you can’t.”
Fearne has been open about her struggles with depression over the years, and she’s admitted that she endured a particularly difficult time over the summer.
The presenter – who married Jesse in 2014 – explained: “I’m good now, but this summer was weird … everything was worrying or annoying. I had a feeling of being a bit overwhelmed and knowing I wasn’t enjoying the things that I should. Then there was this weird turning point…
“I hadn’t changed anything … but I just woke up and felt a bit better one day. I had some friends over and my husband said, ‘Oh my god! Your spark’s back, I can see it!'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart is among the music stars who are performing at BBC Children in Need Rocks 2018.
The 73-year-old rock legend will take to the stage on November 7 at The SSE Arena, Wembley as part of a lineup which includes such stellar names as George Ezra, Jess Glynne, Nile Rodgers and Chic and Rita Ora.
The concert will be hosted by Fearne Cotton and Clara Amfo and 37-year-old Fearne is “so excited” for the evening of incredible music.
She said: “BBC Children in Need Rocks 2018, what a line up! I am so excited to see these incredible musicians perform back to back for one night only. It’s going to be an electric night, and it’s all in aid of a good cause.
“I can’t wait to be part of it and I’d encourage everyone, everywhere, to don their dancing shoes and join me!”
Presenter Clara, 34, also expressed her joy at presenting and emphasised how much the charity improves the lives of disadvantaged youngsters in the UK.
She said: “I’m delighted to join Fearne and your favourite artists for Children in Need Rocks this year. Money raised truly does help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK so get your tickets and join us for a special night!”
BBC Children in Need is currently supporting 2,700 projects in communities across the UK that are helping children and young people facing a range of disadvantages.
The event will include a number of films sharing stories from children and young people who are supported by projects funded by BBC Children in Need.
Viewers of the show will be invited to donate to help raise money for the charity and all proceeds after costs will benefit BBC Children in Need.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers feels like the “luckiest man in the world’ after beating cancer for a second time.
The 66-year-old guitar legend celebrated last week’s release of ‘It’s About Time’ – the first new album from his band Chic for 26 years – with a special performance on Saturday evening (29.09.18) at Pryzm nightclub in Kingston, south west London, and whilst on stage he told his adoring fans that he is “cancer-free”.
Before performing a rendition of ‘Get Lucky’, Nile – who had his second cancer scare in 2017 – said: “The thing I haven’t told many people is that I’m a two-time cancer survivor. The first time I was stricken I was at home trying to recover and the doctors didn’t know what was happening, they didn’t know what my outcome would be. They told me to go home and contemplate the rest of my life, I was like, ‘Damn bro, I’m a songwriter, I’m a simple man. If I’m going to do something for the rest of my life, what am I going to do?’ So I decided I was going to write more songs than I’ve ever written in my entire life, I’m going to do more live shows than I’ve ever done in my entire life, and as you can hear with the new album I’m going to do more collaborations than I’ve ever done in my entire life.
“Out of the clear blue sky I got a phone call from two French guys called Daft Punk and a brother named Pharrell Williams and they said, ‘Hey Nile, let’s get together and write some songs. One of the songs we wrote was called ‘Get Lucky’, and, you know, I feel like the luckiest man in the world because I have now beaten cancer twice, as I stand here before you I’m cancer free! And I have a new album because of it … So this is how we’re going to offer up our version of ‘Get Lucky’.”
Nile and his band ran through a selection of Chic’s greatest hits to mark the record’s release, such as ‘I Want Your Love’, ‘Le Freak’ and ‘Good Times’, at the gig organised by Banquet Records.
The group also performed their versions of Sister Sledge’s ‘We Are Family’ and ‘Let’s Dance’ by David Bowie much to the delight of the crowd.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kodaline keep getting asked to perform at fans’ weddings.
The Irish rock band – comprised of Steve Garrigan, Jason Boland, Vincent May and Mark Prendergrast – are known for their emotional ballads and are constantly asked if they will soundtrack first dances at various weddings but they, so far, have always said they are “too busy”.
In an interview with the Daily Star newspaper, frontman Steve said: “We get quite a lot of messages to be honest but we usually say we’re too busy. It is pretty flattering, there’s this one song on the second album ‘The One’ that I wrote for my friend, I said I’d write him the song as a wedding present. I played it at his wedding, just left it and then we recorded it and it has ended up becoming a song that a lot of people use as their first dance at their weddings.”
The 30-year-old singer admits his friend wasn’t happy that his wedding present has become so popular as it isn’t exclusive to him anymore.
He said: “My friend is a little annoyed as it’s supposed to be his song but it’s become a song for a lot of people.”
Although Steve is in a happy long-term relationship and although marriage is something he thinks about he is in no rush to pop the question to his girlfriend Diana Bunici anytime soon.
He revealed: “I’m in a very happy relationship and it will probably happen at some point but I’m very chilled out with the whole marriage thing.”
The group’s new LP ‘Politics of Living’ was released earlier this month, and on the new record the group have experimented with different electronic sounds and production styles.
Steve said: “Going out of our comfort zone achieving a new sound is pretty daunting.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Markle will accept it if her half-sister Duchess of Sussex decides to never speak to her again.
The 53 year old has flown into the UK in an attempt to reconcile with her estranged sibling Meghan, whom she has not spoken to since she married British royal Prince Harry, and encourage her to speak to their sick father Thomas Markle, but if she chooses to ignore her attempts at a reconciliation then she will carry on with her life.
Speaking to Jeremy Vine on his Channel 5 show on Monday (01.10.18), she was asked whether she would simply move on if Meghan’s decides to continue with her snub, Samantha said: “I would accept that.
“Really it was more for my father because I’m really concerned about his health and we were close we were a normal family with older siblings.”
Samantha has confessed that if the couple were to have a child, although she would be upset at the lack of contact, she would continue to support them from afar.
She said: “I think we would be hurt but it’s their prerogative and they would know that from a distance we’re congratulating them and wishing them well.
“And hopefully over time all of this can be re-approached but I don’t think we would anything less than wish them well.”
On the show, Samantha also apologised to Meghan, 37, for some of her verbal attacks following her and the Markle family’s snub from their wedding.
She said: “I would just say that there’s so much water under the bridge and so much has spun out of control that was never intended to.
“I think everybody was hurt at not being included or invited to the wedding.
“I felt it could’ve all been nipped in the bud had everyone been included and we all agreed to move forward with positive resolve.
“The hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed but, believe it or not, it doesn’t mean we don’t love you any less. I just think that families can be this way when there’s confusion and when people are hurt. So moving forward I apologise and I wish things could be different.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage was “shocked” by the end of his marriage to Alice Kim.
The 54-year-old actor split from his third spouse – the mother of his 13-year-old son Kal-El – in January 2016 shortly before he started shooting his latest movie ‘Mandy’ and though he wasn’t expecting their relationship to end, he doesn’t have any “ill will” towards his estranged spouse.
He said: “It was a shocker for me – I definitely didn’t see it coming, and those feelings had to go somewhere, so they went into the performance.”
Asked if he and Alice are still friends, he added to The Guardian newspaper: “Oh yes, I want to. She was quite young when I married her and I don’t really have any ill will towards what happened. That’s all I’ll say.
“And now it’s like, wow, I’m 54 and I’m single again – I didn’t see that coming! It’s pretty grim.”
And the ‘Con Air’ star has ruled out trying a dating app like Tinder to find love again.
He said: “No, definitely not. I’m not on social media, but everyone else is so I’m like, well, what do I do?”
Before marrying Alice, Nicolas – who also has son Weston, 27, with former partner Christina Fulton – was previously wed to Lisa Marie Presley for several months in 2002 and Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001 but he doesn’t “count” their marriages as real.
He said: “I don’t really count those two marriages, I don’t think they belong on my record. The real marriage for me was the 14 years I had with Alice and the child we have together.”
The ‘Wild at Heart’ actor – who is still friends with Lisa Marie but hasn’t spoken to Patricia “in a long time” – admitted his work can make relationships difficult.
He said: “I hadn’t really thought of it like that. But it’s true, you have to shut it off when you go home and I have a life – well, had a life …
“Well, I meant when I was married, coming home to that at night. But, yes, maybe it’s hard for people to be around.”

The 39-year-old singer was thankful she was able to share the final
moments of 16-year-old golden Labrador Frangelica ‘Nanni’ and got to give the pooch a “goodbye kiss” before she passed away at the weekend.
The ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ hitmaker posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday (30.09.18) of herself kissing the dog and captioned the image: “Goodbye Kiss. Frangelica “Nanni” Moore Hart. 2002-2018. Rest in sunshine pretty girl. Thanks for waiting for me to get home.” (sic)
The ‘Trouble’ singer was flooded with comments from concerned fans who sympathised with her grief.
One user posted: “Hardest part of having pets, saying goodbye. My heart goes out to all of you.”
Another wrote: One of the hardest things us humans have to go through. So sorry for your loss. She’s watching you shine from across the rainbow bridge without a doubt. (sic)”
The pop star is no stranger to the heartbreak after losing pets and unfortunately lost her bulldog Foxy Mama in 2013.
The singer and her husband Carey Hart paid tribute to their pooch, who died at the age of 13.
Tweeting a photo of the dog, Pink wrote: “We’ll miss you Foxy… XxxxxxxxxxxxxO.”
And six years before that, the couple – who have Willow, seven, and Jameson, 21 months, together – lost another pet when bulldog Elvis died in their swimming pool.
A source said at the time: “Pink went to run an errand and left Elvis in the backyard of her LA mansion.
“An hour later she returned and found him floating in her swimming pool. She tried to see if he could be resuscitated, but there was no luck. She was devastated.
“He had swum in that pool many times before with no struggle. Who knows why he drowned on this occasion. Elvis was like a child to her and her husband.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson has penned an open letter to a woman who died after being refused an abortion in Ireland.
The ‘Harry Potter’ actress addressed Dr. Savita Halappanavar, who tragically passed away in October 2012 at the age of 31 at University Hospital Galway due to the complications of a septic miscarriage at 17 weeks.
Dr. Halappanavar’s death prompted Irish lawmakers to ultimately pass legislation that allowed medical experts to carry out an abortion if a mother’s life is in danger and in May a historic referendum occured and had a 66.4 per cent winning result of votes wanting to repeal the controversial 1982 eighth amendment that made abortions illegal because the law gave an unborn fetus the same protection as its mother.
Emma’s tribute to Dr. Halappanavar’s legacy for Porter Magazine read: “You didn’t want to become the face of a movement; you wanted a procedure that would have saved your life. When news of your death broke in 2012, the urgent call to action from Irish activists reverberated around the world – repeal the Eighth Amendment of the Irish Constitution.
“Time and again, when our local and global communities collectively mourn a tragic death due to social injustice, we pay tribute, mobilise and proclaim: rest in power. A promise to the departed and a rallying call to society, we chant: never again.”
Emma – who has personally donated £5 million to gender equality and women’s rights causes over the last year – went on to highlight how her death served as a “wake-up call to the nation” that highlighted the absurdity of the rules surrounding abortions.
Emma wrote: “A note on your memorial in Dublin read, ‘Because you slept, many of us woke.’ That the eighth amendment enabled valuing the life of an unborn fetus over a living woman was a wake-up call to a nation. For you, and those forced to travel to the UK to access safe, legal abortion, justice was hard-won.
“From Argentina to Poland, restrictive abortion laws punish and endanger girls, women and pregnant people. Still, Northern Ireland’s abortion law predates the lightbulb. In your memory, and towards our liberation, we continue the fight for reproductive justice.”
Writing to her loyal 47.8 million followers on Instagram, Emma proudly wrote how the “planned new legislation has already been dubbed ‘Savita’s Law’ by campaigners”.
