Kai Owen teases ‘very dark’ return

OHMYGOSSIP — Kai Owen has teased his ‘Hollyoaks’ character will be involved in some “very dark” scenes upon his return.
The 43-year-old star is to reprise his role as evil Pete Buchanan, who is in prison after sexually abusing Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin), when he comes face-to-face with her partner Joel Dexter – played by Rory Douglas-Speed, her real-life boyfriend – and he looks set to cause problems for the priest.
Kai said: “Pete is a very dark and manipulating character. Those are his default settings, so when Joel threatens him, those defects come out. He spots weakness and capitalises on it.”
Rory added: “Pete is a terrifying character and quickly changes his ‘feeling sorry for himself’ act, by ramping up the pressure!”
Despite his character’s dark nature, Kai enjoyed his ‘Hollyoaks’ return.
He said: “I loved my time on the show. The cast, crew, and the whole building are full of lovely down to earth, hardworking, and genuine people.”
Rory also enjoyed appearing opposite Kai, admitting he learned “so much” acting alongside the former ‘Torchwood’ star.
He said: “I’d also like to say that I really enjoyed working with Kai, and I learned so much from him. A genuinely lovely man, fantastic actor, and all round good guy!”
Despite the despair of Pete’s return and Cleo’s bulimia, the characters are set for some happier times when they get married – and Rory found the nuptials scenes “mind-bending” because they had to shoot them twice, and it was “terrifying” pretending to marry his real-life girlfriend.
He said: “The wedding was such a bizarre thing to film for a couple of reasons. I was getting married to Nadine, my girlfriend in real life … which was nothing short of terrifying! Also, we shot everything twice, the reality and Cleo’s ‘reality’.
“It was a bit mind-bending to begin with, but we got into the rhythm of it, and a very long day has definitely paid off. Nadine is unbelievable in this special episode! She really is a star.”

Annie Wallace’s ‘great optimism’ for trans people’s future has ‘evaporated’

OHMYGOSSIP — Annie Wallace says the “great optimism” she had for trans people’s futures when she joined ‘Hollyoaks’ has now “evaporated”.
The 53-year-old actress – who became the first-ever transgender person to play a regular transgender character in a leading UK soap when she appeared as Sally St. Claire in 2015 – has hit out at people for signing an “anti-trans petition”, and says the hope she had of a bright future for the “acceptance and understanding” of trans people has gone.
She wrote on Twitter: “Name something that predatory males don’t, and won’t, need to abuse women…
Answer. A Gender Recognition Certificate, self-IDed or not.
This continuing assault from a small number of people and their mainstream media buddies is exponential. When I started at @hollyoaks, I had great optimism for trans people’s future, in terms of public acceptance and understanding. This has now evaporated.
The open hostility, coupled with the lies, manipulation of facts and even the complicity of trans people who consider themselves superior to others (you’re not, BTW, they’ll throw you under their bus once you’ve ceased to be useful) is beyond a joke now.
But guess what. I’m not going anywhere. I’m long in the tooth with this argument, and I support my trans brothers and sisters all the way, inclusively, intersectionally and unconditionally. (sic)”
But Annie is “proud” of the Channel 4 soap for “writing important LGBT+ stories” and also investing in their characters “100 per cent”.
She added: “One final thing. I’m proud of @hollyoaks. Big time proud. Not only fantastic entertainment, but the most supportive environment in front of, and behind the camera. Writing important LGBT+ stories without needing to trumpet it from the rooftops & investing in their characters 100% (sic)”

Didi Conn and Saara Aalto confirmed for Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Didi Conn and Saara Aalto have been confirmed for ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Grease’ actress – who played Frenchie in the classic 1978 film – and the former ‘X Factor’ contestant are among the celebrities set to compete on the programme in the new year, and the 67-year-old star is swapping her Pink Ladies jacket for her skates.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she said: “Boy oh boy, I’m going from being a Pink Lady to Queen of the Ice. Yes, it’s true. I’m going to be in the line-up for ‘Dancing on Ice’ 2019.
“I’m coming to the UK on Monday, I’m sure I’ll get to see you.”
Saara, 31, has also been confirmed for the programme.
A message on the ‘Dancing on Ice’ Instagram account read: “This Finnish superstar has already conquered Eurovision and The X Factor – now she’s taking on Dancing On Ice! Welcome to the show, @saaraaalto (sic)”
This comes after ‘Coronation Street’ star Jane Danson confirmed yesterday (04.10.18) she will also be getting her skates on for the show, and admits it will be “a challenge”.
She said: “I’ve known since July so quite a while, so I’ve had to keep it under my hat for a long time. The next few days I’ll be starting the training. I can skate a little bit.
“I think, obviously, when you take on something like this, you’ve got to expect that it’s not without risks but I’m not really thinking about that because I’m seeing it as a challenge.”
Former ‘EastEnders’ star Richard Blackwood has signed up for the programme alongside TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden, Loose Women’s Saira Khan, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, comedian Mark Little, and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.
Former ‘Strictly’ pro dancer James Jordan has also signed up for the series.
He said: “I’m so excited that I’m going to be on ‘Dancing on Ice’ this year. Yes, I can dance, but can I ice skate? No. This is going to be a little bit of a problem I think.”

Siobhan Finneran lands Doctor Who role

OHMYGOSSIP — Siobhan Finneran has landed a role in ‘Doctor Who’.
The 52-year-old actress – who first made her breakthrough in 1987 movie ‘Rita, Sue and Bob Too’ – will make a guest appearance in the upcoming series of the BBC’s sci-fi show, and bosses are looking to surprise fans with some famous faces in the upcoming run.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Siobhan’s now one of telly’s best-loved drama stars and she’s joining a stellar line-up of guest stars on the new ‘Doctor Who’.
“The team behind the latest series are keen to give cameos to more household names because previous stars, including Peter Kay and James Corden, have proved very popular.”
The former ‘Downton Abbey’ star will be one of a few big names to have cameo roles, including Alan Cumming and Lee Mack.
Comedian Lee opened up about his own guest appearance earlier this year, and admitted he “harassed” showrunner Chris Chibnall for a part in the show.
He previously said: “I am blink-and-you’ll-miss-it. It’s just a little thing. I’ve just been a fan all my life, so I just harassed them until they gave me a little part in it.”
Lee went to great lengths to appear on the show, including sending Chris a video of him using his own TARDIS.
He added: “I even sent Chris, who runs the show, Chris Chibnall, a video of me getting out of my own TARDIS, which I own. With a Dalek, which I own as well. And I said ‘Come on!’
“It’s genuinely a true story – I’ve got a TARDIS at home, it’s not bigger on the inside. And I said ‘Come on, give me a part.’
“And he said ‘Alright!’ So that’s what you need to do if you want a part in something. Just send a video to someone, you’ll get the part.”
The new series of ‘Doctor Who’ – which will see Jodie Whittaker debut as the first-ever female Time Lord – airs on BBC One on Sunday (07.10.18) at 6.45pm.

Katie Piper’s Strictly Halloween dread

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Piper thinks the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Halloween special could send the wrong message about looking “different”.
The 34-year-old TV presenter – who was left with burns on her face and body following an acid attack 10 years ago – believes graphic make-up that might be used for some costumes is a “backward step” because youngsters should be taught it is “normal to be scarred”.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I’m fine with dressing up as a cat or a wizard. But the trend towards fake scars, blood and gore seems like a backward step.
“I’d like to teach our kids that it’s normal to be scarred, disfigured or disabled. It’s a taboo that I hope will be defeated within my lifetime.
“I would like my daughters and their friends to think it’s absolutely unacceptable to insult, criticise or pick on someone because they look in any way different.”
The Halloween-themed episode of the ballroom show will air on October 27, and bosses are mindful that families will be watching.
A spokesman said: “We are sensitive not to scare or offend any viewers with our costumes or make-up.”
Katie’s comments come after she admitted she has been “overwhelmed” by ‘Strictly’.
The mother-of-two had hoped the show – on which she is partnered by Gorka Marquez – would provide her with a “welcome distraction” at a difficult time in her personal life, but she’s finding it tougher than she expected.
She said: “I have been having lots of things going on in my personal life, legal things, and I think it became psychologically overwhelming for me…
“I get really emotional on Mondays and Tuesdays, it’s always then I want to storm off in a tantrum and cry because it’s a new routine and song, it’s so overwhelming.”

Peaky Blinders’ Tommy Shelby to face ‘darkest force’ in series 5

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy has started filming the fifth series of ‘Peaky Blinders’ with his character set to face his “darkest force” yet.
The 42-year-old actor’s alter-ego Tommy Shelby will be up against it more than ever when the popular BBC drama returns as the Shelby family try to deal with the 1930s following the financial crash of 1929.
Creator Steven Knight said: “The story of the Peaky Blinders and of the Shelby family gets woven into the political fabric of Britain and Europe as the 1920’s end and the thirties begin.
“Tommy Shelby faces the darkest force he has ever faced and his struggle is as relevant today as it was then.”
The series will see Tommy approached by a charismatic politician who has a bold vision for Britain, but his response will be a huge decision for both his family and Britain.
Caryn Mandabach, executive producer, added: “Steve’s Birmingham saga becomes more fascinating and more relevant with every chapter. This one promises to be the best yet.
“I’m truly grateful to the BBC for their support of such thrilling, immersive and resonant storytelling.”
Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Kate Phillips and Natasha O’Keefe will all return to the series, as will Aidan Gillen and Jack Rowan.
The fifth season – which started filming in Manchester last month – will see the show make the move from BBC Two, which has been the programme’s home since 2013, to BBC One, following huge ratings and several awards.
BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said in a statement: “‘Peaky Blinders’ is world class drama at the top of its game and the time has arrived for it to move to the UK’s biggest channel.
“Steven Knight’s epic storytelling is authentic and utterly compelling and I want to give it the chance to be enjoyed by an even broader audience on BBC One. We couldn’t have asked for a better response to series four and the impact it had with young audiences.”
The most recent series of the gangster drama reached an average audience of 3.3 million, and the show recently scooped a BAFTA for Best Drama Series.

Coronation Street awarded for services to humanity

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ has received an award in recognition for the soap’s services to humanity.
Dr Robina Shah, Queen Elizabeth’s Representative and High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, presented the ITV show with a Certificate of Commendation after promoting awareness of personal trauma, domestic violence, and sexual, physical and emotional abuse, among other experiences, through its storylines since the programme began in 1960.
She said: “For almost 60 years, ‘Coronation Street’ has served us well by creating and producing innovative story lines that powerfully reflect profound and often unspoken real-life social issues that influence the dynamics of the society in which we live.
“Through the lens of ‘Coronation Street’ cameras, viewers have learnt about the impact on individuals and on families experiencing personal trauma, social exclusion, domestic violence, drug addiction, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, the list goes on.
“In real life these challenging issues are often faced alone and in isolation, slowly eroding self-esteem and self-value, affecting mental health and overall wellbeing.
“‘Coronation Street’ is not only a worthy recipient, but also most deserving of this award, for its role in promoting and raising awareness about sensitive social issues that affect many vulnerable members in our community.
“I am extremely pleased to honour and recognise the iconic and national treasure that is ‘Coronation Street’. Many congratulations indeed to all of you who work on the programme.”
Several crew and cast members – including Bill Roache, who has played Ken Barlow since the first-ever episode in December 1960 – accepted the award on the famous cobbles.
Iain McLeod, who recently took over as the show’s series producer said: “It is a genuine honour and privilege to receive this commendation on behalf of everybody who works on the programme.
“We’ve always strived to tell important stories and sometimes within those stories we are in a fortunate position where we can help inform, educate and sometimes even lead change.
“Indeed, two of our recent storylines have had such a dramatic impact on our audience that our charity partners have seen a huge surge in people using their services.
“There is no doubt television drama can both alter and save lives and that will always be an immense source of pride for all of us.”
This marks the first time the High Sheriff’s Certificate of Commendation has been awarded to a TV show.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga surprised fans at a screening of ‘A Star Is Born’.
The 32-year-old singer turned actress greeted shocked fans and made a moving speech during the unexpected appearance at a showing of her latest film in New York City, hosted by YouTube star Tyler Oakley.
During her speech, she said: “I love you so much. Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for being here tonight.
“It would be a lie to not think each and every one of you who has supported me over the years, I would not be here without you.
“You are fighters. You are beautiful, and I love you.”
Gaga also gave a special shoutout to her co-star and director Bradley Cooper, who plays her love interest Jackson Maine, as she said working with the 43-year-old star has “been one of the greatest honours of [her] life.”
She said: “All you need is just for one person to believe. So, I have to say thank you to my incredible director, Bradley Cooper. This is the moment that Bradley gives the film over to you and to the world. I am so grateful, and I am so humbled that it is moving people and that’s all that matters. So, this our gift to you. We love you.
“Working with Bradley Cooper has been one of the greatest honours of my life. He fought for me to play this role.”
Host Tyler then asked the star how she hoped the film – which is a remake of two films of the same name from 1954, and 1976 starring Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, respectively – would impact this generation.
Gaga replied: “Be who you are, fight to be who you are.”
The film’s official Instagram account posted a video of the appearance, where the ‘American Horror Story’ actress made her entrance to excited fans wearing a stunning floor-length red glittering gown with a thigh-high slit which the star paired with black leather thigh high boots and black shades.

Sophia Lillis to star in Gretel and Hansel

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophia Lillis is set to star in ‘Gretel and Hansel’.
The 16-year-old actress – who rose to fame after her role in last year’s hit adaptation of ‘It’ – has signed up to play Gretel in a remake of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale in development by Orion Pictures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be helmed by Osgood Perkins, who also co-wrote the flick alongside Rob Hayes.
The movie is set to be a dark thriller which reimagines the well known tale – in which Gretel and her brother Hansel meet a witch in the woods, who captures them and tries to eat them – and depicts Gretel leading her younger brother into a world of terrifying evil after going on a search for food and work.
‘Gretel and Hansel’ – which puts Gretel in the prominent role, as the original fairy tale is titled ‘Hansel and Gretel’ – is preparing for a shoot in Ireland later this year, with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger on board to produce.
Sandra Yee Ling will executive produce while Dan Kagan will oversee the project on behalf of Orion.
Sophia rose to fame after starring as ill-treated teen Beverly Marsh in the 2017 Stephen King adaptation which became the highest grossing horror movie of all time as it took in $700.3 million worldwide.
The teen actress has also co-starred beside Amy Adams in HBO’s murder mystery series ‘Sharp Objects’ where she plays a young version of Amy’s character Camille, and the star previously reflected on shooting a scene with on-screen mother, 58-year-old Patricia Clarkson.
She said: “Patricia Clarkson, man, she’s good. I was a little nervous, for sure.
“I was acting with all the other adults and everybody was there. It was my first scene with all of them, so it was a little nerve racking.
“But Lulu [Wilson, who plays Marian] made me relax a little bit. She’s a very funny person, and she told me that she’s very used to playing dead in her past roles.
“All my nervousness was built up, so it was a little easier to do that scene. It’s very therapeutic to let all your nervousness out, you know?”

Ariana Grande hints at new studio recordings

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has hinted at new studio recordings in a series of social media posts.
The 25-year-old singer recently revealed she was struggling with the idea of touring, but it appears fresh tracks could be on the way after she shared some teasers on Twitter.
In one clip, what appear to be new vocals can be heard playing in the background, with the caption: “Tell me how good it feels to be needed”
The latest post comes after the ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ hitmaker got fans talking earlier this week, as she shared a snap from the studio.
She simply wrote: “Music is the best medicine.”
Meanwhile, Spin has reported she dropped a huge hint about a potential fifth album – which would be the follow up to recent release ‘Sweetener’ – in a now-deleted tweet.
She said: “Can’t wait for you guys to start being weird little ag5 detectives. (sic)”
Ariana’s updates have come after she admitted while she wants to hit the road again, she’s too scared after a tragic couple of years, which saw 22 people die at her concert in Manchester, north west England after a suicide bomber detonated a bomb in the arena’s foyer area and more recently, her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller die of a suspected overdose at just 26-years-old.
She tweeted: “I’m antsy. can’t sit still. i wanna tour now. yesterday i jus wanted to sit home forever but today i wanna do show and see u. it’s all v up n down rn. but hi. ily. i am working on it. i’ll keep ya posted.

Gary Barlow’s tube terror

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow no longer rides the tube because of the “trauma” of being close to one of 7/7 terrorist bombs.
The Take That singer was on an underground train just 30ft away from Edgware Road station when a suicide bomber blew up a train in one of a number of co-ordinated attacks on the London transport network in July 2005 that killed more than 50 people and left over 700 injured and recalled being knocked off his feet by the force of the blast.
He said: “We were on a train that was heading into the Edgware Road tunnel – as the train pulled out the explosion went off.
“When the bomb went off it was just the most unbelievable force and were all kind of on top of one another. It had taken our legs from under us. It was almost like the force of it was in your jaw, it was so powerful.”
The 47-year-old singer was stuck on the train for an hour with other emotional passengers, and they had no idea what had happened during their “terrifying” ordeal.
He told The Sun newspaper: “It was really terrifying. Our carriage filled with dust and smoke and everyone was dusty and black. And we got off there really not knowing that there was anything else happening around.”
And because of the “trauma” of the day, Gary no longer uses the London Underground as he wouldn’t feel comfortable.
He admitted: “I definitely cannot ride the tube now. I would be terrified on there.”
Seven people were killed in the Edgware Road attack, including the terrorist who detonated the bomb, Mohammad Sidique Khan.
A further seven victims lost their lives on trains at Aldgate, 26 at King’s Cross and 13 on a bus at Tavistock Square. All of the bombers also died.

Bradley Cooper praised by PETA

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Cooper has been honoured by PETA for casting his own dog in ‘A Star Is Born’.
The 43-year-old actor-and-director cast his pet Charlie as the canine companion to his character Jackson Maine in the new movie and the animal rights organisation have given him the Compassion in Film Award in recognition of his decision not to use a pooch from one of Hollywood’s animal exhibitors.
PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said: “Bradley Cooper’s happy, adorable, and much-loved dog steals the spotlight — and viewers’ hearts — in this film because it’s clear that he loved being with his real-life ‘dad’.
“PETA has witnessed so much abuse and neglect of dogs, both on and off set, that we’re hoping Cooper’s kind decision sets a precedent for all Hollywood to follow.”
Bradley – who has 18-month-old daughter Lea with girlfriend Irina Shayk – recently insisted there was no “nepotism” involved when he cast Charlie in the movie as the pet his character shares with Lady Gaga’s Ally.
He said: “There was no nepotism — I wanted this relationship with the dog.
“[Jackson and Ally] don’t have a child together but they have a dog together, and I wanted it to be part of their story. I love dogs.
“That meant a lot for him to be in the film.”
But the Oscar-winning star seemed to be regretting his decision as he joked the attention has gone to Charlie’s head.
Speaking about the pooch – who was named in honour of his late father – Bradley quipped: “He has an agent [now]. I don’t talk to him much anymore. He doesn’t return my calls. He always walks away from me unless I have food.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Francesca Eastwood has given her fans their first glimpse at her baby son.
The 25-year-old actress and her partner Alexander Wraith welcomed little Titan into the world on September 16, and now the
‘Heroes Reborn’ actress has shared her first picture of the tot on her Instagram account.
Francesca posted a photo of herself snuggled in bed with Titan, but all that could be seen of the baby was his head peeking up from the covers.
She simply captioned the photo with a contented face emoji.
Titan is Francesca’s first child, while Alexander has seven-year-old Trajan with his estranged wife Lili Gaildraud, who he separated from in 2015.
The pair celebrated their new arrival in August with a baby shower, and confirmed his name would be Titan.
Francesca – whose father is Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood – confirmed at the 2018 Environmental Media Association Awards in May that she was expecting for the first time, and admitted she was “looking forward” to her future as a mother.
Alexander said in a statement: “Francesca and I are very happy and excited to announce that we are having a child together, we are looking forward to our future together.”
Francesca’s mother Frances Fisher said at the event: “I’m so excited. I’m gonna be a grandma.”
The announcement came just days after Francesca’s 21-year-old sister Morgan Eastwood cryptically shared an image of someone’s baby bump on her Instagram Stories.
Francesca is said to have been dating ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ actor Alexander for “some time”.
He shared a Valentine’s Day tribute to her on his Instagram in February.

Nicki Minaj releases new line based on Cardi B fight

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj has released a new fashion range based on her fight with Cardi B.
The ‘Chun-Li’ hitmaker clashed with the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper at a New York Fashion Week party last month and after their feud escalated following the row, the 35-year-old star has used Cardi’s own words as a slogan on some new merchandise.
The collection features a fluorescent pink backpack, t-shirts and a bright purple jacket, all with the phrase ‘Nicki Stopped My Bag’ written across it.
The wording comes from Cardi’s choice of language when she defended herself after the fight after being escorted out of the party.
She fumed on Instagram: “I’ve let a lot of s**t slide. I let you sneak diss me. I let you lie on me. I let you attempt to stop my bags, f**k up the way I eat! You’ve threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f**king with them! I let you talk big sh*t about me.”
The ‘Barbie Dreams’ hitmaker later lashed out at Cardi – who has been recording new music with Nicki’s former boyfriend Meek Mill – after footage of their fight surfaced online.
She said: “You knew that when that footage came out, you were about to look dumb. So your team, they hurry up and put out a statement. I didn’t stop anyone’s bags.”
Nicki previously confessed she was “humiliated” by her fight with Cardi and was embarrassed by their behaviour, which allegedly included her rival throwing a shoe at her.
She shared: “The other night I was a part of something so mortifying, so humiliating to go through in front of upper echelon people – it’s not about black or white – people who have their lives together. I was mortified … I could not believe how humiliated I felt …. how we – and I use the term ‘we’ loosely – made ourselves look.”
And she denied Cardi’s claims that the fight began after she had criticised the ‘I Like It’ hitmaker and her husband Offset’s two-month-old daughter Kulture.
She added: “I would never discuss anyone’s child. It’s so sad for someone to pin that on me. I would never talk about anyone’s child’s or parenting, I don’t give a s**t. It’s so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy. if you’re right in whatever you’re doing, you don’t ever have to make someone into the bad guy. You know I didn’t say or never did talk about anyone’s child.”

Bonnie Langford: EastEnders’ Carmel needs ‘fresh approach’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Langford left ‘EastEnders’ because there was “nothing much more” her character could do.
The 54-year-old star has swapped the East End for the West End after landing a role in musical ’42nd Street’, and she believes her character Carmel Kazemi needed to leave Albert Square for “a fresh approach” and to grieve following the death of her son Shakil Kazemi (Shaheen Jafargholi).
She said: “I was leaving anyway because I just felt with Carmel, there’s nothing much more she can do.
“I didn’t want her suddenly to become this jolly person who forgets about her son.
“All those people who go through such a terrible situation in their life of any kind are broken and scarred.
“She needs to move on for a while and get a fresh approach and grieve.”
While Bonnie found it tough to switch off from playing distraught Carmel following Shakil’s death, she felt so “lucky” to be able to return home to her 17-year-old daughter Biana after a day’s filming.
She added to Express.co.uk: “You do immerse yourself in it quite a lot, but I realised how lucky I was to be able to go home to my 17-year-old daughter and how heart-breaking it would be if it was the other way round.
“I was trying to portray somebody who didn’t have that joy, so I’m just grateful to tell that story and be able to say please try and change this.”
Bonnie recently admitted the soap’s tough schedule played a part in her decision to leave Walford.
She said: “In ‘EastEnders’, you don’t know when you are going to be needed, you are on call all the time and don’t know your availability until the Friday before.
“Silly things, like booking a dentist appointment, become impossible. That sounds like a stupid thing to have as an issue, but after a while you don’t know where you are. I started to think I needed to come up for air a little bit.
“I needed to do other stuff, to get out there and feed that other part of my soul. You have to nurture the whole lot, otherwise you can’t do your job properly.”

Adele earned almost £9m last year without releasing an album

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele earned almost £9 million last year despite not touring or releasing an album.
The ‘Rolling In The Deep’ hitmaker hasn’t hit the road since her 15-month world tour – which kicked off in 2016 – and her most recent record ’25’ came out in 2015.
As reported by The Sun newspaper, the star – who wrapped up her global run of shows last summer – still made over £8.6 million in profit after taxes, according to her latest companies’ accounts.
It works out at earning of £23,719 a day, and it’s said the balance sheets lodged at Companies House reveal she has almost £41 million “cash in the bank”.
Adele’s two companies looking after album sales and royalties – Melted Stone Ltd and Melted Stone Publishing Ltd – have been performing well, with net profits of £483,546 and £8,173,994 respectively.
In February, it was also revealed that the star made £142 million through ticket sales and souvenirs from her Adele Live tour.
While she personally made £42 million from it, her company Remedy Touring LLP took home £70 million profit.
In the past, Adele has hit out at the amount of tax she has to pay on her huge fortune, and has made no secret of that fact she thinks it’s a ridiculous figure.
She previously said: “I’m mortified to have to pay 50%. I use the NHS, I can’t use public transport any more.
“Trains are always late, most state schools are s**t, and I’ve gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh? When I got my tax bill in from 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire.”
The star is currently in the UK working on her next album with plans to release the LP by Christmas 2019.
