Henry Cavill is the man, says director

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher McQuarrie thinks Henry Cavill is “the man”.
The 59-year-old filmmaker worked with the British actor on ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ and Christopher has admitted to relishing his time with Henry, praising his can-do attitude on the movie’s set.
He said: “Henry is the man. He’s really … and more so, he would come to work every day and find out that whatever his character was the day before was not that character anymore.
“‘Ah, we rethought that, it didn’t work, it’s a whole other thing,’ and Henry would say, ‘Well, can I do this? Yeah? Can I do that? Yeah? Okay.’ And then he would just go off to work, and he’d never complain.”
Despite being one of Hollywood’s best-known actors, Henry was open to new ideas and was flexible in his approach to the film.
Christopher told Collider: “He understood from the beginning, ‘Mission’ has a mind of its own, it’s gonna go where it wants to go, just go with it and you’ll be delivered.
“And you see remnants of our figuring out his character early on in the story, and he really was great. He’s really extraordinary.”
Christopher also hailed Henry as the “unsung hero” of a dramatic helicopter sequence in the movie, which was shot in the winter in New Zealand.
He said: “You know, when they say everything Fred Astaire did, Ginger Rogers did backwards and in high heels, everything Tom Cruise is doing, Henry is doing backwards with the doors open in sub-zero temperatures. Freezing his eyeballs.”

Richard Madden ‘set to be offered James Bond role’

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Madden is reportedly set to be offered the role of James Bond.
The 32-year-old actor is said to have impressed Bond bosses with his performance in the BBC drama series ‘The Bodyguard’, and he is now being eyed to replace Daniel Craig as 007.
A source said: “It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job.”
Barbara Broccoli, the executive producer at Eon Productions, is likely to have the final say on who will become the next Bond.
And she’s apparently been convinced by the actor’s performance in ‘The Bodyguard’ to offer the role to him.
The insider told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role.”
A number of well-known actors, including Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy, have all been linked to the role of Bond over recent years.
However, Idris claimed earlier this year that the world isn’t ready for a black Bond.
The London-born actor explained: “I think in England we have reached that stage [of having a black James Bond] because culturally we’re sort of a lot more diverse but the rest of the world is not like that and I think there is a real sort of stigma.
“It’s like, ‘Oh he’s black, can he do it because he’s black?'”
Idris also rejected claims that people would be more accommodating to the change because of recent historical moments, such as Barack Obama becoming America’s first black President.
He explained: “Obama can be President because he’s a very smart man and I’m sure he had same feelings like, ‘Well, I’m not the first black President, I’m Obama. I’m the first Obama.’
“So for me you know I don’t like to make a big deal of it, the point is that it’s a great rumour. If it was to ever happen, I think it would be the will of a nation.”

Nile Rodgers says woeful performance led to sobriety

OHMYGOSSIP — Nile Rodgers admits an embarrassing on-stage performance convinced him to give up drink and drugs.
The 66-year-old musician – who rose to prominence as a member of the band Chic – has revealed he decided to kick his self-destructive habits after he listened back to a performance he’d given while he was drunk.
Appearing on ‘Desert Island Discs’, Nile shared: “My performance said I was pretty lousy. The difference between the reality and the imagined reality was just too strong for me to take. And I knew that the only thing responsible for that was me doing drugs.
“My drugs made me think it was amazing. The people freaking out made me think it was amazing. My beautiful date made me think it was amazing.
“But the tapes don’t lie. It was not amazing. And that’s the last time I ever had a drink or drugs and it was 24 years.”
Meanwhile, Nile recently admitted he feels like the “luckiest man in the world” after beating cancer for a second time.
Chic have just released their first new album in more than two decades, and Nile – who had his second cancer scare in 2017 – admitted he feels fortunate to still be alive.
The musician – who had a “mysterious growth” discovered on his right kidney last year – said: “One of the songs we wrote was called ‘Get Lucky’, and, you know, I feel like the luckiest man in the world because I have now beaten cancer twice, as I stand here before you I’m cancer free!”

Peter Andre’s Snoop Dogg dream

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Andre wants to collaborate with Snoop Dogg.
The singer may be best known for his safe pop tunes but he thinks teaming up with the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper would make for a very “different” sound than his fans are used to.
Asked who he’d most like to work with, he said: “Good question. Someone like Snoop Dogg. It would be different.”
It could be possible that Snoop, 46, is interested in making a hit with Pete because he just laid down some bars for Olly Murs’ latest single ‘Moves’ in an unexpected collaboration.
Pete, 45, is heading out on tour in 2019 to celebrate 25 years of musical success and he admitted it can be annoying that some people still think of him as a one-hit wonder who is only famous for his 1995 single ‘Mysterious Girl’ – which was also re-released in 2004 and became a number one in the UK singles chart, doing better than its original number two placing.
Speaking to New! magazine, he said: “There are people that will always think you’ve only ever done one song and usually artists are remembered for one song, but I had number ones before ‘Mysterious Girl’ in 2004 and I’ve had quite a few number one albums and singles since.
“[Being called a one-hit wonder] never angers me, it’s just laziness on their part. How can I sell out Wembley and The O2 Arena on one song? It’s just ignorance but I don’t get offended.”
The ‘Behind Closed Doors’ singer is proud of his career success but thinks he would have been even bigger if he’d taken on board some of the advice he was offered in the early days.
Asked what he’d advise his younger self, he said: “To listen more. There was some advice on styling and song choices I ignored, which could have taken me to stadiums rather than arenas. Then again, I’m still here doing what I love 25 years later.”
And Peter admitted he regrets his 2004 single ‘Insania’, which he wrote in the jungle whilst competing on reality TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, the programme on which he met his first wife Katie Price.
He said: “I should have left ‘Insania’ in the jungle. It charted at number three but it wasn’t my proudest achievement.”

Cardi B moans birthday bash stopped her from eating

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B loved her surprise birthday party – but was annoyed it delayed her eating.
The chart-topping rap star – who officially turned 26 on Thursday (11.10.18) – had a surprise party thrown in her honour by her husband Offset, but the bash meant Cardi had to delay eating for longer than she’d hoped.
In a video posted on her Instagram Story, Cardi confessed: “Hubbs told me that he was gonna take me out to dinner and I appreciate the surprise birthday party and all that, but I’m f***ing hungry right now.”
Despite her frustrations, Cardi – who married Offset in 2017 and has a three-month-old daughter called Kulture with the rapper – appreciated her husband’s efforts.
She said: “I’m hungry, but I’m so happy.”
Meanwhile, Cardi previously admitted she was “a little bit happier” before she was famous.
However, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper is also grateful she doesn’t “have to worry” about her future anymore.
Cardi said: “My family, whatever they want, they get. Everything that I want to buy, I can get. I don’t have to worry so much about my future … Even though I’m happy, I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money.
“I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me.”
Cardi also revealed she’s determined to create the best possible life for Kulture.
She said: “I do not want to raise my future kids where I was raised, and I know the only way to do it is working, working, working, working, working.
“I don’t want to live in a small Bronx apartment. I don’t want to have three kids that got to share one room. I don’t want my kids to go to school and get gang-affiliated. I don’t want to do welfare. I don’t.”

Claire Foy: I’ve given up on happiness

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Foy has given up on “the idea of happiness”.
The 34-year-old actress – who is best-known for her starring role in ‘The Crown’ – has revealed she’s learned to embrace her chaotic lifestyle over the years, but she’s also realistic about her own happiness.
Claire – who recently admitted to struggling with anxiety – confessed: “A long time ago, I gave up on the idea of happiness.”
Despite her fame and wealth, Claire admits that her emotions can swing dramatically.
And although she experiences real moments of happiness, she doesn’t expect those moments to last for a sustained period of time.
Claire told NET-A-PORTER’s weekly digital magazine PorterEdit: “I think you can be incredibly, deliriously happy one minute, and be miserable the next.
“I’ve realised that my life is quite dramatic, and that’s OK. I’m really happy, but … I’m not sorted, at all. I don’t expect any moment to last.”
Meanwhile, Claire recently announced she is taking a career break.
The British star – who split from husband Stephen Campbell Moore earlier this year – has already had a few months off, and when she’s finished promoting her current movie, ‘First Man’, she will not be rushing back to work.
Claire – who has a three-year-old daughter called Ivy Rose with Stephen – explained: “I did nothing for this whole summer and I plan not to do anything for quite a while longer. Making ‘The Crown’ and the three movies was really rewarding and amazing but quite exhausting.”
Claire thinks taking a break can only be good for her as an actress.
She said: “I think you have to live your life in order to be an actor, otherwise you’ve got nothing to tell.”

Simon Cowell’s dogs fly on his private jet

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell insists his beloved Yorkshire Terriers always fly on his private jet.
The ‘X Factor’ supremo loves his three dogs – Squiddly, Diddly and Freddy – so much that he won’t allow them to take a commercial flight when he travels between his London and Los Angeles homes.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The dogs are Simon’s children – and he treats them as such.
“He refuses to ditch the dogs in kennels at home, and won’t shove them in a Boeing 747 hold where they would be terrified and alone.
“He wants Squiddly, Diddly and Freddie to enjoy their travel jaunts as much as him – and that means only the best.”
The dogs are reportedly afforded their own reclining white leather seats, as well as Icelandic mineral water and organic, sugar-free choc drops.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Simon – who has four-year-old son Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman – has helped save over 200 dogs in South Korea.
The 59-year-old TV star donated $32,000 to the Humane Society International (HSI) and the money helped the organisation fund a rescue operation at a dog meat farm in Gyeonggi-do, while his fame also had an “impact” in raising awareness of the issue.
Wendy Higgins, HSI’s director of international media, said: “His support helped financially but also in raising awareness. We met people in South Korea who has heard of his donation and it really had an impact.”
South Korea currently has around 17,000 dog meat farms, but HSI is hoping to shut down as many as it can.
The organisation is also hoping to get the country’s government involved in a bid to eradicate the industry.

Simon Cowell funds life-saving treatment for four-year-old boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has pledged £50,000 to help a four-year-old boy get life-saving cancer treatment in the US.
The music mogul has donated the huge sum towards Zac Oliver’s overall target of raising £500,000 so he can receive treatment for Near Haploid, which is a rare form of leukaemia.
In a video urging other people to support Zac, Simon – who has a four-year-old son called Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman – said: “This boy is four years old and needs money to get him to America to get the help he needs.
“So I want you please to go on Zac Oliver’s JustGiving page and whatever you can donate will make a difference.
“And because I don’t like well-known people telling people to do something and don’t do anything themselves, I’m going to donate £50,000. We’re going to get there.”
Treatment for the illness is not currently available on the NHS.
But Zac’s mum, Hannah Oliver-Willets, has thanked the ‘X Factor’ judge for his support.
Reflecting on his generosity, he said: “Thank you, Simon Cowell.
“I explained to Zac that Simon has helped to pay for his special medicine.
“Zac said ‘thanks Si’, LOL. Little does he know how much closer we really are to getting him to the US.”
Meanwhile, Simon previously admitted that parenthood has changed his outlook on life.
He shared: “It gives you such a different perspective on life. Things that I thought were important, just aren’t.
“Because I see a lot of things through his eyes now, I find everything to be a happier place.”

Rochelle Humes to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning?

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes is reportedly set to replace Holly Willoughby on ‘This Morning’ while she presents ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’
The 29-year-old star – who is best-known for her success with The Saturdays – is apparently poised to be Holly’s temporary replacement on the ITV show, as the blonde beauty heads Down Under to co-host ‘I’m a Celebrity’ alongside Dec Donnelly.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “As soon as bosses for ‘This Morning’ learnt that Holly had accepted the role on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ they drafted their wish list and Rochelle was at the top.
“Obviously, Holly’s are big shoes to fill. But Rochelle has been impressing bosses with her down-to-earth nature and presenting skills for a while now.
“Rochelle is super-excited about being asked and she knows what a huge career opportunity it is.”
Holly, 37 – who has taken the role of Ant McPartlin on ‘I’m a Celebrity’ – will be absent from the ‘This Morning’ sofa for around five weeks.
But Rochelle is no stranger to the programme, having previously presented the show alongside her husband Marvin Humes.
Meanwhile, Rochelle recently revealed that she and Marvin are planning to renew their wedding vows.
The pop star – who has daughters Alaia-Mai, five, and 19-month-old Valentina with Marvin – said she thinks “it’s a lovely idea”.
Marvin added: “We had 500 guests at our wedding so it’ll be on a smaller scale and probably abroad. I’ll leave all the party planning to Roch!”

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t miss acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t miss anything about acting.
The ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ star has taken a step back from the film industry so she can focus on her lifestyle brand Goop and admits there is “nothing” she misses about acting.
Asked what she misses about acting full time, she said: “Nothing. It’s so weird. I actually didn’t hate it. But I just don’t miss it. The level and breadth of creativity that I have in this job [at Goop] is so bananas, and I’m very fulfilled.”
And whilst some of her Goop ideas puzzle people to begin with, they “eventually come around”.
She added to Marie Claire magazine: “I remember when I started doing yoga and acupuncture, people thought it was outrageous. When I was photographed with cupping marks on my back, everyone went crazy. I’ve always been the person who introduces wellness ideas into the culture, and I can see by pattern recognition that people eventually come around.”
Meanwhile, Gwyneth previously revealed she is more selective over her movie choices and goes for the ones that have the “best return on investment in terms of time and impact”.
She said: “I don’t do a lot of acting right now, so when I do I look for what’s going to have the best return on investment in terms of time and impact. It’s fun to do something like ‘The Avengers’. I get to go to Atlanta for two days, see my friends, do a scene with Robert [Downey Jr.], come home.”
Gwyneth had previously confessed she still questions her decision to put acting on the back burner.
Asked about her decision to reduce her acting commitments so she could start up her lifestyle brand Goop, she said: “I need to be here right now. I went to Atlanta to do Avengers 4, so I’m in and out for that, and it’s weird to go back and forth. We’re growing fast, and balls are dropping all the time. But honestly, I was on set and thought, ‘You sit here for two hours sipping tea, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are making me laugh hysterically – why the hell did I give this up?'”

Ariana Grande still ‘needs time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande still “needs time” to recover.
The ‘no tears left to cry’ hitmaker was due to perform at the first-ever Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala benefiting F**k Cancer in Los Angeles on October 13 but her manager Scooter Braun made an appearance at the event to reveal she couldn’t make it because of what she “is going through”.
Speaking on stage at the event, Scooter said: “One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they’re having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments. And you saw your invite, someone I’m very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she’s going through, she couldn’t be here today. And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, ‘She needs this time.'”
Ariana has had a tough few years, which saw 22 people die at her concert in Manchester, north west England after a suicide bomber detonated a bomb in the arena’s foyer area and more recently, the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller from a suspected overdose at the age of just 26.
And Ariana previously admitted she wants to go tour but is too frightened.
She tweeted: “I’m antsy. can’t sit still. i wanna tour now. yesterday i jus wanted to sit home forever but today i wanna do show and see u. it’s all v up n down rn. but hi. ily. i am working on it. i’ll keep ya posted.
“Id never regret it. my happiest moments are with y’all and on stage and stuff. i think it’s just the looooooong chunks of time away from home that are scary to me rn. hi i’m being too honest and people r gonna tear me apart but idc anymore. lol (sic).”

DJ Khaled: My son is the greatest gift of life

OHMYGOSSIP — DJ Khaled’s son is “the greatest gift of life”.
The ‘Wild Thoughts’ hitmaker feels so lucky to be a father to two-year-old Asahd – who he shares with fiancée Nicole Tuck – and used his second birthday to launch Asahd’s first charitable initiative, which helps to fund projects that focus on the needs of the community, family values and youth entrepreneurship.
He told People magazine: “My son is the greatest gift of life, our children are the world’s biggest blessing, so I am so grateful to be able to celebrate his life with a carnival and to be hosting many inner-city kids and their families so everyone in our community can experience joy today at the iconic Marlins Stadium together in our hometown of Miami.”
Meanwhile, DJ Khaled previously admitted it “might be time” to have a second child.
He said: “I was talking to my queen the other day and it might be time for another one. Whatever God has planned for us. I love kids, listen, that’s God. If God wants us to have another one, I’m ready.”
Being a father has made him more conscious of his lifestyle, as he wants to make sure he is in the best health for the sake of his young tot.
He added: “I’m always real good at being wise, but at the same time, I’m me. If I see you playing yourself, I’m-a let you know, don’t play yourself. Basically, don’t take my kindness for weakness. Take my kindness for greatness. Me being a father now, I’m definitely more wise and more cautious – a better presentation of laying it out. I look at my son and, you know, the new artists, the new generation and the young world – I’m inspired by them because those are the next superstars, doctors, presidents, CEOs, billionaires, community, everything.”

Emma Willis’ tough childbirth

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis fainted after recalling her difficult childbirth.
The 42-year-old television presenter relived her tough first birth – which left her unable to sit down properly for 12 weeks – for the television show ‘Emma Willis: Delivering Babies’ and the traumatic experience caused her to pass out.
She said: “One minute I was standing in this operating theatre completely transfixed. Next thing I knew I was coming round having hit the deck, a row of blue hospital-issue Crocs slowly coming into focus … I remember the new mum being wheeled into theatre, saying to me, ‘Are you sure you want to watch this?’ I wanted to understand and witness what I’d been through – knowledge is power – but the subconscious reaction of my body was total horror. I tried to make excuses afterwards, ‘Ooh, it’s a bit hot in here,’ but I’m sure it was a deep response to what I’d been through.”
After a tough birth with Isabelle, now nine, Emma opted for caesarean operations for her youngest kids – Ace, now six, and Trixie Grace, now two.
She added to the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine: “My only opinion on childbirth is not to have an opinion, and not to judge. We’re all different and anything can happen when it comes to labour; you just don’t know until you get there … I can tell you I pushed with Isabelle for a very long time! I have the scars to prove it. For the second two pregnancies I was too scared to go down the [natural delivery] route. With hindsight, part of me wishes I had maybe tried for a natural birth again. But what state would my body be in if I had? You just don’t know.”

Amy Winehouse biopic being made

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Winehouse’s life story is being made into a Hollywood movie.
The ‘Rehab’ singer tragically passed away at the age of just 27 in 2011 from alcohol poisoning leaving the world with her seminal album ‘Back to Black’ and haunting voice.
Now, Amy’s family has signed a multi-million pound deal to tell her story on the big screen with Alison Owen directing from a script by
Geoff Deane, who previously worked on ‘Kinky Boots’ and ‘It’s A Boy Girl Thing’.
Alison’s company Monumental Pictures will produce and shooting is scheduled to start next year and the search is on for the actress who will play five-time Grammy winner Amy.
Confirming the project is in the works, Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We have been approached many times. It’s obviously something that we are going to do, 100 per cent. What we want is somebody to portray Amy in the way that she was … the funny, brilliant, charming and horrible person that she was. There’s no point really me making the film because I’m her dad. But to get the right people to do it, that’s very important, and we will.”
Contemplating who might play his daughter on the big screen, he added: “It wouldn’t be Lady Gaga. She doesn’t speak our kind of English. I wouldn’t mind betting it would be an unknown, young, English – London, Cockney – actress who looks a bit like Amy.”
The confirmation of the biopic comes after the Winehouse family announced that a hologram of Amy is going on tour.
The musician’s estate has teamed up with the BASE Hologram company to create a virtual likeness of the star, which will go out on the road with a live band and backing singers to perform “digitally remastered” versions of her classic hits.
Money raised from the virtual tour will go towards The Amy Winehouse Foundation, which works to help homeless young people and help those youngsters suffering with substance abuse issues.

Stacey Dash secretly weds husband Jeffrey Marty

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dash is secretly married to Jeffrey Marty.
The 51-year-old actress – who shot to fame playing Dionne Davenport in 1995 flick ‘Clueless’ – reportedly tied the knot with lawyer Jeffrey shortly after she withdrew from her campaign for Congress in California in April 2018, according to the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column.
It has been claimed that the couple married just 10 days after meeting.
Stacey’s manager Kerry Jones confirmed to the publication that the pair are husband and wife but shared no details of when they met or why the nuptials were conducted in secret.
Kerry said: “They wanted it on the D.L. [down low].”
Stacey – who is Damon Dash’s cousin – had filed in February to run in California’s 44th congressional district announcing that her goal was to “free people from the shackles of a plantation mentality” but she dropped out just one month later blaming “the overall bitterness surrounding our political process”.
The ‘Wild About Harry’ star has been married three times before, to Brian Lovell, James Maby and Emmanuel Xuereb, and two children; 26-year-old son Austin Williams from her relationship with singer Christopher Williams and 15-year-old daughter Lola Lovell from her union to producer Brian.

Roger Daltrey has three love children

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Daltrey discovered he had three love children on his 50th birthday.
The 74-year-old rocker has revealed he wasn’t aware he had more than five offspring until he received a letter in 1994, when he turned the milestone age, from his secret daughter.
After receiving the note, two more women came forward and claimed that The Who frontman was listed as their real father on their adoption papers, and Daltrey took the news well and says they all keep “in touch” to this day.
He recalled: “They all came into my life after my 50th birthday.
“It was great – it’s all worked out. They stay in touch and they’re close, so that’s great.
“I’ve tried to do my best about a situation that couldn’t change because it happened a long time ago.”
The Daily Mirror newspaper reports that the ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmaker had the three children after the breakdown of his marriage to his first wife Jaqueline Rickman – whom he divorced in 1968 – and before marrying his current wife Heather Taylor in 1971.
Daltrey – who has Simon, 54, with Jacqueline and Jamie, 37, Rosie, 46, and Willow, 43, with Heather, and 50-year-old Mathias with Swedish model Elisabeth Aronsson – heaped praise on his spouse Heather for “understanding” his past wild rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and sex life, and for sticking by his side over the past five decades.
He told the tabloid: “Heather is amazing. To find a woman who understood what this business was like, who I was and who we were, and to accept that and still want to be with me when I came home was a gift from the universe.
“Whether that’s an open marriage or just a matter of being honest with her, because I was never going to be the perfect husband in that sense.
“So when I come back off tours, we don’t talk about it. She accepted that.
“And you can criticise it, you can say whatever. But all I can say is, whatever we did it worked because we’ve been together for 50 years and I’m starting to like it.”
The ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ hitmaker previously revealed how Heather – who also dated the late rock icon Jimi Hendrix, who penned the 1967 song ‘Foxy Lady’ about her – allowed him to sleep with other groupies, but that his rampant ways stopped when his children became parents.
Speaking in 2011, he said: “It’s not an open marriage, but in the early days of our relationship she never put restrictions on me.
“I was in one of the biggest rock bands in the world, going out for four months at a time.
“At that gage do you expect me to come back and say, ‘Oh yes darling, I was a good boy?’
“Over the years we have developed something a lot deeper than that – she is the most extraordinary woman I know.”
