Amy Schumer: Being a woman sucks

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Schumer thinks being a woman “sucks”.
The 37-year-old actress has said she often feels as though being a woman is “difficult” because of how “sexualised” her gender is both in her career as an actress, and in every day life.
She said: “Being a woman sucks. It’s very difficult … We’re sexualised all the time, even when it seems crazy. I feel really bad for these girls who are so hot because guys can’t handle it. You can’t have a conversation, everything skews sexual and you’re gonna be treated differently.”
The ‘I Feel Pretty’ star – who is married to Chris Fischer – went on to state women are left in “constant fear of violence” because of the staggering sexual assault figures, and says men “don’t really understand” what women have to go through on a daily basis.
Speaking during an appearance on Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, Amy said: “1 in 6 women reports being sexually assaulted, but really it’s 1 in 3 women. So we’re not even like, is this gonna happen? We’re like, when? Like if I’m in New York and I take the subway – women, we run home at night. We’re afraid. We put the key between our two fingers, like we’re gonna be able to do something with that.
“We live in constant fear of violence. Just the feeling that we have all day, walking past a guy sitting alone on a bench. We just brace ourselves. And I think that’s something men don’t really understand.”
The ‘Trainwreck’ actress added that she now calls men out on their inappropriate behaviour even though it makes her feel uncomfortable, because she knows her actions could possibly prevent the man from harassing the next woman he meets.

Drake wanted family with Rihanna

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake “wanted” to start a family with his former partner Rihanna.
The 31-year-old rapper and the ‘Work’ hitmaker have a long romantic history of on and off dating which spans from 2005 until 2016, and despite the pair no longer being romantically linked, Drake has said he is slightly disappointed he doesn’t have a “fairy tale” life, as he once wanted Rihanna to be the mother of his children.
Speaking during an appearance on LeBron James’ HBO series ‘The Shop’, Drake said: “As life takes shape and teaches you your own lessons, I end up in this situation where I don’t have the fairy tale, like, ‘Oh, Drake started a family with Rihanna and this is like so perfect.’ It looks so good on paper. By the way, I wanted that too at one time.”
The ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper and Rihanna first became linked in 2005 at a Toronto diner where Rihanna shot her music video for debut single ‘Pon De Replay’.
In 2016, Drake professed his love for the ‘What’s My Name’ singer whilst presenting her with the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Music Video Awards.
He said: “She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old. She’s one of my best friends in the world. She’s a living breathing legend in our industry.”
Later that year, sources said the pair had parted ways just a few months after making their romance official, and earlier this year, Rihanna said she is no longer close to her former flame.
She said: “We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is.”
Since their split, 30-year-old Rihanna has moved on with Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, and Drake has since fathered a son named Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux.
Recently, Drake gushed about parenthood, stating he had learned “patience” and “unconditional love” since becoming a father.
He said: “[He has] crazy blue eyes – baby blue eyes. He’s already in the pool shooting the basketball. I’m just excited. All of the things I’ve learned from and through my father and the incredible things I’ve learned through my mother about patience, about unconditional love.”

Whilst attending a welcome reception at Admiralty House in Sydney, Australia, the couple were handed a fluffy stuffed kangaroo and fleece Ugg baby booties by the Governor General Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Lynne Cosgrove.
In People magazine’s Facebook Live video, Duchess Meghan – who was known as Meghan Markle before getting married – said: “That’s so cute, it’s our first baby gift!”
Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, revealed their baby news through a statement shared on social media by Kensington Palace, which said the happy couple were “delighted” to be able to share the exciting news with the public.
The statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
The couple will no doubt receive a host of presents in the coming month, not least from Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, who is said to be “very happy” about becoming a grandmother.
Another statement from Kensington Palace read: “Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news, and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”
As of the time of writing, Meghan’s father Thomas Markle has yet to comment on her pregnancy, after a recent string of scathing interviews – in which Thomas claimed Meghan would be “nothing” without him – has caused tension between the pair.

The ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ actress and her husband Tim Loden announced on Tuesday (16.10.18) that they had welcomed their “little dream boat” baby boy into the world.
The couple – who got married last year – are yet to reveal details of the birth or the name of their son and have currently nicknamed him “Peanut”.
Alongside an adorable black and white photo of Yvonne cradling her little bundle of joy, she wrote on Instagram: “My heart has melted into a billion pieces a thousand times already.
“We have been blessed with the greatest joy of our lives, our baby boy. Welcome to the world Peanut, your parents love you beyond measure and you are already my little dream boat.
“My heart has been stolen! (sic)”
The 36-year-old Australian actress took to the social media app in May to announce the couple were expecting a child.
She wrote: “I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news – I’m going to be a Mama! So very exciting to watch and feel this little Peanut growing every day! (sic)”
Yvonne accidentally announced the sex of her baby during an interview at the 2018 Emmy Awards.
She said: “I’m just gonna hold him in there hope for the best.
“I just let it slip earlier didn’t I? Breaking news!”
Yvonne’s character in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, Serena Joy, is devastaingly unable to conceive a child, and the ‘Dexter’ star found it “very tricky” to keep her pregnancy news a secret and hide her burgeoning bump during filming, so in the end she had no choice but to tell her colleagues.
She said: “It was quite interesting hiding the pregnancy actually, as my first trimester was [from] episode nine through to the end of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’.
“That’s why it got tricky. In the end I was over hiding it so I said, ‘you know what, I’m pregnant.’
“People thought I had the flu. They were scared to come near me.”

Tara Reid removed from a flight to New York

OHMYGOSSIP — Tara Reid has been removed from a flight after causing a disturbance prior to takeoff.
The 42-year-old actress was sat on-board a flight to New York, but was irked that she wasn’t given a window seat and that the person in the seat in front of her was reclined, causing her to feel cramped.
The ‘American Pie’ actress complained loudly about the situation, according to TMZ, which also reported Tara was frustrated at having not been given a pillow.
Although flight attendants tried to resolve the issue, they were unsuccessful and a crew member eventually asked Tara and her dog to leave the plane.
A Delta spokesperson told TMZ that the plane eventually took off following a short delay, with Tara reported to have boarded an alternate flight.
Meanwhile, Tara recently admitted to having made some bad life choices, conceding she wishes she’d done some things differently.
The actress – who used to be known for her wild partying – shared: “I would do a lot of stuff differently. I wouldn’t have gone out so much and been so crazy.
“When I started out, I wasn’t aware I would lose all my privacy, so I was doing everything that your average 21-year-old does, but it was there for everyone to see. I should have made wiser choices about where to go and what to do, because that kind of all caught up on me and it changed everything.”
Tara – who has been engaged three times in the past – also revealed she remains keen to have children.
She said: “I think about kids, for sure – all my friends who have kids say it’s the greatest thing, so I’d like to one day.”

Sophie Turner experienced voices in her head for X-Men: Dark Phoenix

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner experienced what it was like to hear voices in her head for research for ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress reprises her role as psychic Jean Grey in the next outing in the superhero franchise and has revealed part of her research into mental health disorders saw her actually face some of the symptoms of schizophrenia.
Turner told ScreenRant: “As soon as Simon [Kinberg] kind of told me what the movie was about we just started straight away sharing ideas, sharing materials.
“Simon gave me a big, big book on schizophrenia.
“I actually found this thing online, on YouTube.
And it was just kind of repeating, repeating, repeating, what it sounds like being a schizophrenic.
“So I used to walk around town with all these voices in my head. Kind of feel it out. And see what it felt like.”
The 22-year-old star also delved into how sufferers of split personality disorder cope with waking up in the morning and having no recollection of what they did the night before.
She said: “We also explored Multiple Personality Disorder as well.
“And what that feels like to kind of wake up and not know what you did, what happened and that shear panic and how that affects you.”
Turner – who is best know for portraying Sansa Stark in HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ – felt she needed to understand fully how her “complex” alter-ego was feeling to play the part, and says she’s never dedicated so much time to research for an acting job before.
She said: “Jean is just … she’s so, so, layered. She’s so complex in this movie.
“I really don’t think that I’ve done more research for a role than for this one and I loved every minute of it.”
Turner found the forthcoming movie highly “challenging” and emotionally draining, but heaped praise on director Simon Kinberg, who stepped up from being a script writer for the saga to go behind the camera for the first time.
She said previously: “I kept saying to Simon (Kinberg, director), ‘Oh good, that’s nearly done. Now I only have, like, seven huge emotional scenes to go. It was a real challenge.”
She added: “Simon has been the brain behind ‘X-Men’ for years and it’s really exciting to have what feels like one of our own rise up and take hold of the franchise and direct it in the way that he sees it.
“I have to say he’s one of the best directors I’ve ever worked with. He’s so passionate and collaborative.”

Speaking about his approach to acting, he explained: “If I think it’s an interesting story, but I don’t think I can do it – then that’s probably a good sign.

“We’ve worked so hard on this, we are so proud and can honestly say this is our favourite album to date.”

The band have teamed up with songwriters including Ed Sheeran, Jess Glynne and Timberland on the album.
Jade recently revealed they wrote ‘Woman’s World’ as a direct response to the scandal surrounding Hollywood.
She said: “So we wrote this song when the whole #MeToo movement was coming about. You know … I was so angry about what was going on. It was important to write it with [producer Jez Ashurst], who’s a man. It holds an important message.”
And the 25-year-old singer said the girl group haven’t written anything “that’s too controversial” yet but are starting to be increasingly “more honest” in their songs.
She added: “We haven’t written anything that’s too controversial before, and now we’re starting to write things that are slightly more honest. We want to be a bit more ballsy and say, ‘yeah, it is hard to be a woman.'”
Mixers will be able to choose from the standard, deluxe and super deluxe edition of the record, the latter comes with a hardback book with handwritten notes from the girls.

Bill Turnbull helps saves lives after revealing prostate cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Turnbull has helped save lives by speaking out about his prostate cancer diagnosis.
The former BBC Breakfast presenter announced in March that he had been suffering from “incurable” cancer since November last year, and now he’s revealed other sufferers and their wives reached out to tell him they’d gone and got themselves checked out for the disease as a result.
He told RadioTimes magazine: “A lot of men got in touch to say they had gone to get checked. And a number of wives told me they’d made their husbands go.
“Some have written to let me know what happened next.
“‘Dear Bill, I thank you for my husband’s life. After watching you on television a few months ago my husband reluctantly went for a PSA blood test.
“‘He was found to have prostate cancer and had his prostate removed. He has had the all-clear.'”
After Bill publicly revealed his battle, Prostate Cancer UK were inundated with calls, 400 per cent more than usual.
The 62-year-old newsreader – who has 29-year-old Henry, Will, 28, and Flora, 26, with his wife Sesi – says he is surrounded by “love” and if it were down to that he’d be fighting fit admitting, “If love could have cured me, I’d be a healthy man now”.
Bill’s cancer has unfortunately spread to his pelvis, hips, spine and legs.
He said: “You go to bed at night thinking about it, and it’s still there when you wake up.
“It’s there all day, every day – a fact of life you have to get used to. And it’s a massive pain in the backside.”
Bill had undergone chemotherapy but the side affects got too much for him, and he asked for the treatment to be stopped.
He felt “depressed” and it left him with “crushing fatigue”, which he couldn’t bare anymore.
He said: “After the eighth round of chemo in July, I asked the consultant to release me from the treatment.
“I just couldn’t bear it any longer. We ended up doing one more, and then called it a day.
“Each round felt worse. I kept my hair, more or less, but lost my sense of taste. I had days when all I could do was lie down and wait for the crushing fatigue and nausea to pass.
“It felt as if the chemo was now taking on a character of its own, like some malevolent gremlin.
“It would take me on. Grind me down. During the bad phases, I wondered if I’d ever recover from feeling sick, tired and depressed.”

The 22-year-old offspring of the Motley Crue drummer and the ‘Baywatch’ actress is the latest star to sign up to the reboot of the popular MTV reality series , which will air next year.
An insider told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “While there has been no official confirmation, Brandon is in final negotiations for a role on the new reboot of ‘The Hills’.
“The world really doesn’t know Brandon. The public is unaware of what a smart, funny, caring and charismatic guy he is.”
Brandon was recently in the headlines after he knocked out his father in March in a fight, but he claimed he’d acted in self defence because his dad was supposedly drunk.
Whilst Brandon was not charged over the incident, they continue to be at loggerheads.
According to the source, neither Tommy or Pamela will be involved with the show.
They added: “Pamela hasn’t been asked to appear on the show yet, but there is nothing she wouldn’t do to support her son’s career.”
If the news is true, Brandon will be joining the likes of Mischa Barton, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Partridge, Stephanie Pratt, Whitney Port, and Brody Jenner on the show.
The 32-year-old actress – who is known for starring in teen drama series ‘The O.C.’, which ran from 2003 to 2007 – recently confirmed she’s joined the cast in a video on her Instagram.
The short clip showed Mischa in her car, taking off a pair of sunglasses and saying “Welcome to The Hills b***h”, whilst Natasha Bedingfield’s 2004 hit ‘Unwritten’ played in the background.
She captioned the clip: “The secret’s out… I’m joining the cast of The Hills. When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The OC, it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter. (sic)”

Samantha Markle happy about Meghan’s pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Markle hopes Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy can draw a line over their family problems.
The outspoken actress has been a vocal critic of her half-sister but insists she wishes her well following the news she and her husband Prince Harry are expecting their first child together.
She told The Sun newspaper: “It just makes everything that happened over the last year disappear. I want Meghan to be happy and calm and have peace. Everybody needs to be positive.”
However, Samantha was upset that their father, Thomas Markle, wasn’t included in Kensington Palace’s official statement announcing the happy news, even though the former ‘Suits’ star’s mother, Doria Ragland, was mentioned, and she hopes the snub was unintentional and the retired lighting director – who hasn’t seen his daughter since before her wedding in May – will be involved in his grandchild’s life.
She added: “I would hope that — for the sake of the baby, the family, the world and my dad — that leaving him out of the statement was not intentional.
“I hope my dad is included and at a proper time. If he is excluded, I won’t be happy. It is in the best interests of the baby for my dad to be included.
“A baby changes everything and softens everyone. I would only hope that there would be some adjustment or some way of including him.”
And Samantha has called for the 37-year-old duchess and her 33-year-old spouse to move towards a reconciliation with Thomas – who missed their wedding after undergoing heart surgery – and have a proper discussion about the difficulties between them.
She added: “I think we all have to safeguard against any negative or hurt feelings and just work towards a positive joyous new life in the world.
“At a proper time, there should be a sit-down wherein everyone can address this properly. Everything has to work itself out. I want to allow Meg and Harry to bring my dad into it in their own appropriate time because they very well should do. Although I can still say I love my sister, I wasn’t happy with the way my father was being treated.
“But, you know, we’re also seeing now that there was a lot going on — there may have been a lot of stress.
“I’m not saying that’s an excuse for not communicating with my dad, but maybe she wanted to wait until the exact right moment. I don’t want Meg to feel any stress and I want my dad to feel happy and I think all things will come full circle.”
Meanwhile, Thomas – who was said to have embarrassed his daughter and Harry after being paid to stage paparazzi photographs before their wedding – is said to be “absolutely delighted” with the news of Meghan’s pregnancy.
A source said: “Thomas is absolutely delighted. He heard the news before it was made public and was overjoyed. He thinks Meghan will make a great mum as she is already so maternal.
“Thomas sees this as a chance to fix the problems between him, Meghan and Harry. He is desperate to be there for his grandchild and wants to play an active role in their life.”

James Moore in ‘complete shock’ at NTA nod

OHMYGOSSIP — James Moore was left in “complete shock” after his National Television Awards nomination.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star is pleasantly surprised after he was given a nod in the longlist for the Best Newcomer category ahead of next year’s ceremony, admitting he was “over the moon” at the recognition after joining the soap as Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) son Ryan Stocks in May.
He tweeted: “What is happening right now. Just seen this. Can’t believe it. Still in shock. Over the moon. Thank you all so much for your support. This is the strangest tweet I’ve ever written but I’m just in complete shock right now THANK YOU (sic)”
James was inundated with congratulations by fans for the nod, but will face stiff competition from fellow soap newcomers, EastEnders’ Ricky Champ (Stuart Highway), ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Aedan Duckworth (Oliver Morgan), Doctors’ Daniel Kerr (James Coulter), Casualty’s Neet Mohan (Dr. Rashid ‘Rash’ Masum), and ‘Coronation Street’ actress Alexander Mardell (Emma Brooker).
James’ on-screen mum Emma also has a chance of success at the ceremony because she is up for Best Serial Drama Performance alongside 25 others, including her on-screen daughter Charley Webb (Debbie Dingle) and fellow Dales stars Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden), Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle), and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk).
‘Emmerdale’ will take on regular rivals ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’, and ‘Hollyoaks’ in the Serial Drama category, and James’ mum could well be voting for the soap after becoming a “convert” of the programme since he joined the cast.
He recently tweeted: “My mum is now an @emmerdale convert…she used to watch Eastenders years ago but went off it in recent years, and since I’ve been in the show she started watching my episodes but I haven’t been on in weeks and she’s ringing me up all the time telling me what Charity’s done now (sic)”

Investigation opened into death of crewmember on Tom Hanks’ movie

OHMYGOSSIP — An investigation has been opened into the death of a crewmember on the set of Tom Hanks’ untitled Mr. Rogers biopic.
61-year-old sound mixer James Emswiller, was reportedly taking a smoke break on the top of a building on the Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania set, when he fell and plummeted two stories to his death, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
And now, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has opened an investigation into the death, which will take six months to complete.
A spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter: “If OSHA uncovers violations of any sort, citations will be issued.”
It has been claimed that Mr Emswiller may have suffered a heart attack.
Sony Pictures, which is making the film, said in a statement: “This is a devastating tragedy and the studio is investigating the matter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim’s loved ones, friends, and colleagues.”
The movie stars Tom as Fred Rogers, the host of ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’, the popular educational children’s TV series of the 60s and 70s which aired on PBS.
It is based on the real-life friendship between Rogers and Tom Junod, a cynical journalist who was sent to interview the TV star only to find the encounter transformed his outlook on life.
‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood’ began airing in 1968 and captured the hearts and imaginations of children across America. The show is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with Morgan Neville’s documentary ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ premiering at the Sundance film festival.
Fred Rogers died in 2003 aged 74.
