Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman have awkward run-in

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Holmes had an “awkward” run-in with Nicole Kidman during a recent visit to a Los Angeles bar. The past and present Mrs. Tom Cruises apparently tried to dodge each other when they came face-to-face at Hollywood private members club Soho House.

“When Katie walked upstairs to the lounge, she saw Nicole and immediately looked away like she was trying very hard to avoid eye contact with her. It was like she was taken off guard — it was like a standoff!” a source said.

“They didn’t even say hi. It was so awkward! She [Nicole] just looked at Katie, then looked away. But after Katie noticed Nicole in the lounge, she quickly walked to the patio area.”

Katie recently revealed she wants to travel the world with her daughter, Suri.

“I feel ready for the next chapter of my life,” she said. “I’m excited to begin a new phase: roles I might have been afraid to play before, places I want to travel to with my daughter. I’d like to build the design business. But not too fast.”

Meisa Kuroki to make first appearance since marriage

OHMYGOSSIP  —  Actress-singer Meisa Kuroki, 23, who in February announced her sudden marriage to former KAT-TUN singer Jin Akanishi, 27, will appear in a recitation of “Miyazaki Kenji ga tsutaerukoto” (Message from Kenji Miyazaki) at the Setagaya Public Theater in Tokyo on May 12-13.

Since announcing her marriage and pregnancy, Kuroki has dropped out of public view, but decided to take part in the Miyazawa event because it is in support of the victims of the March 11 disaster, she said in a statement.

Kuroki will join Yu Aoi, Shinobu Otake, Yoshino Kimura, Kyoko Koizumi, Kyoka Suzuki, Yosuke Eguchi, Tsurube Shofukutei and Shinichi Tsutsumi, among others.

The performers’ combinations and schedules will be announced later. The recitation goes from May 9 until June 3.

Japan’s pop star Miwa Yoshida got married

OHMYGOSSIP — One of Japan’s best-known pop stars said on Wednesday that she has married a fellow musician nearly 20 years her junior, setting off a frenzy in the country’s tabloid press.

Miwa Yoshida (46) the lead singer of Dreams Come True which has sold about 50 million albums worldwide, announced on her New York-based blog that she tied the knot with Juon Kamata, the 27-year-old lead singer for rock band Fuzzy Control,

“I have something to tell you today. You know what, I got married to Juon on March 8,” she wrote.

Yoshida, still hugely popular among mostly female fans in Japan, started the duo Dreams Come True more than two decades ago. The band won followers across East Asia with their romantic ballads.

She joins a long list of woman celebrities who have married considerably younger men.

Miwa Yoshida (吉田 美和 Yoshida Miwa, born May 6, 1965 in Ikeda, Hokkaidō) is a Japanese musician, and the lead singer for the band Dreams Come True.
 
Yoshida also fronts a Dreams Come True side-project called “Funk the Peanuts”, and has released two solo albums, Beauty and Harmony and Beauty and Harmony 2. Both albums took their name from the English translation of the name Miwa.

Miwa Yoshida formed Dreams Come True in 1988 with Masato Nakamura whom she met in Tokyo, and Takahiro Nishikawa who was her old friend from high school days in Hokkaido.
 
In 1995, she started musical activities as Funk the Peanuts, and debuted as a solo singer with the album Beauty and Harmony. She started the record company “DCT Records” with Nakamura in July, 2002. They serve as the executive producer now.
 
Yoshida had a relationship with director Ken Sueda who died of cancer in 2007.

 

Ryoko Yonekura to be first Japanese actress on Broadway in 54 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Actress Ryoko Yonekura (36) will be the first Japanese performer in 54 years to appear in a Broadway musical when she co-stars in “Chicago” in July. Miyoshi Umeki was the last Japanese actress to perform on Broadway in 1958.

Yonekura, who plays Roxie Hart, said she is looking forward to the challenge of performing in English. “I think I was born to play Roxy on the stage,” she told reporters.

Yonekura starred in the Japanese version of “Chicago” in 2008 and 2010.

She said she has been studying English 3-4 times a week for many years in the hope that one day, her dream of performing in the U.S. would come true.

OHMYGOSSIP — The April 2 issue of National Enquirer features the cover stories of Bobby Brown coming clean about Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina getting pregnant by her step brother, Nick Gordon.  

Bobby Brown was with Whitney during her most intensive periods of drug abuse – since he was using right along with her – and he knows where all the skeletons are hidden.  Ironically Bobby did not introduce Whitney to HARD DRUGS – as she was already using before she met her future husband.
 
Bobby is terrified that daughter Bobbi Kristina will discover the terrifying hard core drug tapes he made with her mom while married to Whitney.  Rather than deal with his daughter’s inevitable reaction to seeing the tapes he is trying to take a proactive approach.
 
But seeing tapes of her mom is looking to be the least of Bobbi K’s concerns.  The cover of the Enquirer reports that is Bobbi Kristina is getting married to Nick – but even worse – Whitney’s daughter is already pregnant!  If this turns out to be true then we will need to consider a conservatorship for Bobbi K!

Kris Humphries: Kim Kardashian wants to destroy me

OHMYGOSSIP — Kris Humphries claims Kim Kardashian is trying to damage his reputation. In a statement by Kris’ lawyer — which was released to Life & Style magazine — it’s alleged Kim is trying to make the world think the sportsman is a terrible person.

“Much effort and energy to misdirect the public’s perception of what transpired between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has taken place over the past several months,” said the lawyer.

“This case will not be resolved in the court of public opinion amidst ridiculous and defamatory allegations and personal attacks directed against Kris Humphries. Rather, this case will be appropriately investigated and litigated professionally and with integrity.”

Despite reports claiming that Kris is demanding a $7 million settlement to stay silent, “No demands have been made,” insists Kris’ legal team, which includes general counsel Lee A. Hutton III of Lommen Abdo and family law experts Marshall Waller and Sandra Salinas of Feinberg & Waller.

“While we are encouraged to see an apparent willingness by the other side to put big numbers out in an attempt to settle Mr. Humphries’ claims, we respect and will continue to observe the integrity of the legal process.”

“One thing is certain: Kris Humphries intends to set the record straight,” his lawyers assert.

Magazine features the cover story ‘The Hunger Games’ Secret Romance.’  With The Hunger Games movie about to hit theaters March 23rd, 2012 the magazine has all the details of a…gasp, secret romance.  They have an exclusive details on who Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss Everdeen in the movie is really dating.  Is it Liam Hemsworth or Josh Hutcherson who Jennifer had a secret hotel room rendezvous with?
 
This week is a special collectors edition of the magazine and the magazine knows why the movie will be even better than the books.  Plus they have pictures of all the Hunger Games stars before they were famous.  I am really excited to see the movie – I will be there Friday night to see the premiere.  I loved the books and I hope the movie can do them justice.  What about you are you excited about seeing The Hunger Games?  Sound out in the comments below.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kourtney Kardashian, and her longtime beau, Scott Disick, were photographed taking 2-year old Mason out for lunch to a Nate N Al’s deli in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Wednesday (March 21). It looks like the soon-to-be big brother may have been hungry as it appeared he was having a little melt-down.

The Dash boutique owner has been spotted with some lighter locks this week in Hollywood. Her hair was usually dark – practically all black – but she showed off her new streaks of brown that create a lighter and softer look.

The reality TV starlet recently went for lunch with one of her best pals, who is also pregnant. She shared, “It’s so nice to have friends who are pregnant at the same time so we can discuss all things baby!”

The mom-to-be is expecting to have her second child – a girl – later this spring/early summer with Disick.
