But ever since she won the highly-coveted role of Katniss Everdeen in the film adapation of the wildly popular book series The Hunger Games, she’s a whole different kind of icon now.

Teresa Palmer: Liam Hemsworth is the most perfect co-star

OHMYGOSSIP — Teresa Palmer has revealed that she enjoyed kissing Liam Hemsworth. The I Am Number Four actress, who stars alongside Hemsworth in upcoming romantic war film AWOL, said that he was “lovely” to work with.

Palmer told E! Online: “I did get to kiss Liam. Liam is lovely. He’s the most perfect male co-star.”

She said of the film: “It’s very much a [The] Notebook style movie. I try desperately not to fall in love with a soldier who’s gone AWOL from the Vietnam War, but that soldier is Liam Hemsworth! It’s sort of a bittersweet romance between them. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful.”

Palmer has previously been romantically linked to Zac Efron and Russell Brand and is now believed to be dating Felicity actor Scott Speedman.

Hemsworth was recently rumoured to be engaged to singer Miley Cyrus when she was photographed wearing a large ring on her left hand, but she played down the reports earlier this week.

It was reported earlier this month that Hemsworth is concerned about Cyrus’ party lifestyle.

Liz Hurley introduces Shane Warne’s daughter to ‘Gossip Girl’ stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Liz Hurley has introduced fiancé Shane Warne’s daughter to the stars of Gossip Girl. The actress and model, who recently joined the US drama as media mogul Diana Payne, took 14-year-old Brooke on set with her last week.

Hurley wrote on Twitter: “Shooting Gossip Girl today with my future teenage stepdaughter Brooke in tow. Her first time on a set, so all very exciting!”

She later added: “The cast of Gossip Girl were so nice to SW’s daughter-autographs, photos-the lot. One v happy teenager.”

Brooke wrote on her page: “New York was fab! Everyone at Gossip Girl was amazing thanks for making my experience fantastic!”

Shane also wrote on the microblogging site: “My daughter just met Chace Crawford, Leighton Meister (sic) & Ed Westwick on set.. Her quote: Chace is so hot, he’s better than food.”

Crawford recently described Hurley as “charming” and “gorgeous”, adding: “She’s kind of the epitome… of the ideal woman.”
 
Shane’s ex Simone Callahan, who is the mother of Brooke, 12-year-old Jackson and 10-year-old Summer, admitted last year that Shane and Hurley’s engagement came as “a little bit of a shock” to her and her children, but added: “He can do what he wants.”

Khloe Kardashian: F*ck you, PETA!

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian is done with PETA. The reality star has quit the animal rights charity after it voiced its approval of sister Kim’s flour-bombing.

The anti-fur group has denied responsibility for the incident — which saw Kim, 31, pelted with flour as she walked the red carpet last week — but says it will support the accused woman if charges are brought.

Khloe — who once posed nude for a PETA advert — has now cut ties with the organization. “I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise,” Khloe said.

“I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that.

“I am absolutely disgusted by their behaviour. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions – I personally don’t wear fur but that doesn’t mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, especially by violating them.”

According to TMZ, Kim intends to press charges against the woman, who is said to be a “militant” PETA member.

And if she does, the group has vowed to support the accused in any way possible.

It said in a statement, “If she presses charges, at least people will be constantly reminded of her selfish, callous disregard for the cruel deaths that she causes by wearing fur.

“How much better it would be if she decided to evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless. The activist acted from the heart, something Kim doesn’t seem to have.

“If anything, Kim should get a life, the very thing that she denies animals.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron isn’t keen on fame. The actress says life in the public eye is like a “freak show”.

“It’s (fame) become a freak show,” she said.

“It drives me insane. There are certain places that you just can’t go. I’m OK with that, but it’s the things you can’t avoid like when you’re going home. That’s not even sacred any more.

“You can’t take this industry too seriously. We want to believe we’re curing cancer, but we really aren’t.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about the film’s classification. Lawrence explained that she understood the decision as a large fanbase for the original books by Suzanne Collins are youngsters.

“We had to have a PG-13 rating but violence is at the heart of the movie, because it has to make people angry enough to start an uprising,” she told BBC Breakfast.

“We couldn’t water down the movie. The PG-13 rating helped us, because it made the violence really quick [on screen].”

Speaking about her character Katniss Everdeen, she said: “She’s a lot braver than she thinks she is. She’s an interesting hero, she never actually thinks she won’t die.”

When asked about appearing in a possible trilogy of films playing a teenager, she added: “I think so, I hope so. I’ll try and stay away from cigarettes.”

Josh Hutcherson: Hunger Games Peeta is about staying true to self

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Hutcherson has said that he admires his Hunger Games character Peeta Mellark’s commitment to honesty. He revealed that his role in Suzanne Collins’s young adult dystopian story was one that he immediately connected with on multiple levels.

“Peeta is all about staying true to yourself. He goes into the Games and does everything he can to maintain what he believes in and not become just another pawn,” Hutcherson explained in a new interview with Parade.

“Growing up in the acting world, you have a lot of opportunities to change who you are and what you believe in based on how people treat you. I never wanted to do that. And that’s what Peeta’s driving toward through the series.”

However, Hutcherson went on to say that portraying Peeta was not without its challenges, adding: “[Director] Gary Ross and I wanted to make sure that we did not let Peeta become too sappy, just because he’s admitting his love to Katniss. He takes a lot of strength from Katniss. And Katniss learns how to open up emotionally from Peeta.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Hunger Games star Donald Sutherland has said that the movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s best-selling novel has the potential to “change everything”.

Sutherland, who plays Panem’s President Snow in the film, told Coming Soon that he was wowed by Collins and Gary Ross’s screenplay when he first read it. “This script – it came, I read it. I couldn’t read it actually. I pushed it away. I sat back and I said to my wife, ‘I think I just read something that can change everything’,” he explained.

The 76-year-old admitted that he only became aware of The Hunger Games as a literary phenomenon when he saw the reaction from people at his dermatologist’s office. “I said, ‘I just finished shooting Hunger Games’. I got maybe the ‘m’ of Hunger Games out and the office was suddenly filled with people jumping up and down in hysteria. And these are adults!” he said.

Sutherland added that he sees clear social parallels between The Hunger Games’s story, about a teenage girl (Jennifer Lawrence) who incites a revolution in a totalitarian state, and the Occupy movement. “This script came and it seemed to me that it was a game changer,” he said. “That it had the possibility, if it were properly done, to catalyse, motivate, mobilise a generation of young people who were, in my opinion, by and large dormant in the political process.

“You have Occupy Wall Street and all that, but it has a limited base or it seems to have a limited base. And I hoped and I felt that this could maybe spread out across the country.” Hunger Games director Gary Ross recently revealed that Sutherland wrote an in-depth backstory for President Snow, which he incorporated into scenes for the final movie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling doesn’t hang about. The actress has announced she’s pregnant again — just five months after giving birth to daughter Hattie Margaret.

Tori took to her website Friday to announce she’s expecting her fourth child with husband Dean McDermott.

“Dean, Liam, Stella, Hattie, and I are beyond thrilled to announce that another little McDermott is on the way! We feel truly blessed that another angel has found us. Love, Tori xoxo,” read the announcement, which was accompanied by a pic of Spelling’s burgeoning bump.

The baby-to-be will join Hattie (who was born in October 2011), brother Liam, 5, and sister Stella, 3, the actress and reality star’s children with husband Dean McDermott. Spelling, 38, wed Canadian-born actor McDermott, 45, back in May 2006.

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Banks has declared that she is incredibly proud to have portrayed Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games. The actress told OMG Yahoo that she jumped at the chance to play the pink-haired guide opposite Jennifer Lawrence in the new sci-fi drama.

“There was no other role for me to play in the series. Effie, I think, is the most fun,” Banks said. “I felt very connected to her, and I just knew there was something there for me to do.”

She added: “I was really excited about the idea of a physical transformation, and I just loved her attitude. She represents the Capitol. Not just visually, but also their attitude throughout the whole series.”

Banks further explained that although her Hunger Games character provides some comic relief, she was insistent that Effie should not be absurd.

“The reason [Effie’s] funny is because she’s putting on an outrageously happy face on these completely sombre circumstances. My only concern was making sure she was not a clown, that everything was real,” she recalled. “She has such a different point of view on what’s going on here.

“That’s what’s fun and funny about her, and kind of grotesque. In her mind, these kids won a lottery ticket to be on the greatest reality show. Yeah, they’re going to die, but they’re going to die heroes and be glorified by their districts.”

OHMYGOSSIP —Jennifer Aniston is a sugar mommy! The actress has apparently spent over $500,000 on gifts for boyfriend Justin Theroux.

Aniston has spent $12,000 on a  leather jacket once owned by James Dean, a $450,000 Genn Ligon painting and two motorbikes, a $33,000 Ducati and a $24,000 Harley Davidson.

Additionally, Jennifer is also said to have spent $1 million on furniture and artwork for their new Los Angeles home and $750,000 for a feng shui expert to assist with their $10 million make over on the property, as well as funding the couple’s numerous holidays.

“Neither Jen nor Justin seem embarrassed that she is the main breadwinner,” a source said.

“She is in a comfortable position so why not spend money on the man she loves. Justin loves buying Jen little gifts and going out of his way to show how much he cares. This is not a one-sided relationship at all, and Jen feels she is the luckiest girl in the world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Oldman has criticised the Golden Globe awards, describing the voting process as “bent”. The British actor – appearing at last night’s Jameson Empire Awards, where he took home the prize for ‘Best Actor’ – said that the event had “no politics” like other awards ceremonies.

“Specifically I’m talking about the Globes,” he told HeyUGuys. “Which I think is bent to be honest. There’s always a bit of that involved, people talk about the ‘sympathy win’ or someone will get something for their body of work rather than that role. The Oscars and BAFTAs, the voting is pretty straightforward. The Globes, the foreign press, is a whole different thing.”

Oldman said that there may be a form of sequel to Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy, based on John le Carré’s Smiley’s People.

“They’re talking about doing a sequel, Smiley’s People. I’m there if they can put the same people back again.”

Speaking about the upcoming Dark Knight Rises, he promised fans that it will be “epic”.

“It is what you expect from [Christopher] Nolan, it delivers big time. It’s epic, but not just spectacle. It’s got the size of big movie for what it needs to have for a conclusion.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Cocozza has reportedly named Amy Childs as his “dream woman”. The former X Factor finalist is said to have sent the reality star many text messages and tweets since they met on Jonathan Ross’s Trending Topics.

“Frankie is shameless when it comes to women,” a source told The Sun. “He loves big breasts, glamour girls and red hair especially. Amy’s his dream woman.”

Childs has allegedly responded positively to Cocozza’s messages after hitting it off in person.

“Frankie and Amy couldn’t keep their hands off each other when they met on the TV show,” the souce added.

“He knows from that and the messages that he’s on to a sure thing. Frankie has been going through a purple patch with girls around the country.

“He did say he’d give it all up for Amy though.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Depp has apparently been hooking up with Ashley Olsen. The actor — whose romance with longtime love Vanessa Paradis is rumored to be on the rocks — was spotted making a hasty exit from an office building connected to Ashley’s apartment building.

“He looked like he didn’t want to be seen,” a source told America’s In Touch Weekly magazine. An office worker adds, “An e-mail went around to the employees saying Johnny Depp was using our building to try to avoid paparazzi.”

According to In Touch, Depp, 48, was secretly leaving 23-years younger Ashley’s loft after a sneak slumber party. “It was quiet in her apartment, like it was just the two of them in there,” an insider recalls, and though no one outside can know what happened, “It didn’t seem like it was just a visit between friends.

“When he left the next day, he looked like he was out of it.”
